I need to get myself in gear and get out to get my prescriptions...which I suspect are screwed up...and an onion to add to my spaghetti sauce that's simmering in the slow cooker for dinner tonight when my Wisconsin nephew and niece arrive.  They're coming to be with me today and tomorrow (when we lost Raymond to a better place)and
then I'm going to caravan back with them to Wisconsin for a few days.

Safe safe and healthy,

jane

Good morning all...the temp to s still 100 and virus cases many in the nursing home...JANE ENJOY your family and a few days away...it always lifts my spirits when I have family here or can go there...Sharon hope you are feeling better...Mary know you will be glad to get the week of quarantine behind you...I haven't seen Sue post lately hope she's ok...Jeanne our world is crazy now...trying to think with common sense and wisdom...sounds like you are like me tired of staying in...Marlyin Good you are also getting out some....Hi to any I missed...stay safe and cool

SharonE

Jane your niece and nephew are wonderful caring people. Hugs for the sadness of the day. Have a wonderful visit with your family and up in WI. Should be cooler there too. I just scrolled far enough down to read that they caught your nephew's killer. I hope they have enough evidence to prosecute him.

Hi Darlene, always good to see you post what with all the virus in TX.

Mary, hope you are okay and no germs from the staff member.

I, too, am wondering about Sue. Hope it's her computer again or she was forgetful.

The PT guy just left a bit ago. He really put me through my paces--balance, sacral-iliac joint, shoulder, etc. Then I took Bunny out and fed her. She gets a cranberry chewy at lunch because of urinary problems and she absolutely loves them and starts barking for it and dancing around as soon as we get in from outside. Hilarious. She still isn't eating as well as she was. She'll eat from our hand or if we throw the kibble out on the floor, but will only eat about half of her meal in the dish. Strange.

My PT's little boy is okay. He was tested for Covid again and then he broke out in a rash and he was diagnosed as having roseola, a common problem at that age. My kids had it too, but within the pandemic situation can certainly scare parents to death.

Hi to all I haven't mentioned. Stay safe.  Sharon

jane

Back from WalMart...92 out there...and the prescriptions were correct!  I'm watering some plants which look very wilted.

Road work is progressing slowly.  NO way will they be here today or this week.  My guess is maybe when I come back from Wisconsin, they'll be closer.   :2funny:

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

I meant to go out again this morning early as it is again 90 deg. I can't take that for long. But got tied up with power company checking why part of my house the power keep going off Same time about once a week. All checked O.K they think may be at 8;15 in the morning I have to much in use at the same time as it is just one side of the house that had a window A/C.with the TV. Bedroom and Bathroom on same line. It is when I turn on the Bedroom TV also he thinks. Will test that out.
Now remember me saying I was just going to call state regarding the $159 that is due for our yeary License Sticker and some were getting it for $20. they called me back to interview on phone. I didn't think stand a chance but even though they check your income from SS and any interest or income in2019 .I dont pay income tax anymore. as even though my Min Deduction on IRA is income its not high enough. But said I had to have a copy from myIRA. I couldnt reach the Ins. Company on line and so forgot about it. Just called me the other day to say they sent the form in without it and got a letter saying that the thing was on its way to me and they had given me the diduction.Just take when go to Get Sticker. So worth finding out on some of the things going now. It just for 2 years so they must think everything  will be normal by then. I doubt it. So much paper work now that I don't think state and Fed have time to check anything. After ll they did send the checks for $1200 to thousands of people that were Dead in 2018/19  after the April tax was done.Still not figured how to get it all back. Sorta sad...

Junee.  I wrote such a long message in the the other night after reading yours. It just vanished into Cyber world.
Was so happy to read yours. I sort of check daily to see if your postings come up. Glad you are doing O.K even though it must be much harder for you ladies that are in the Senior housing places with having to stay in your rooms. We feel bad just having to stay in the house but at least we can be kept a little busy.
I need to do more housework but find doing less. Can't stand to do it. The heat here not helping at all and not seen family or friends for 4 months other than A SIl who comes to cut my grass.Brings stuff from his garden but  feel bad as he comes 40 miles each way. I lost my yard man of 30 years 2 months ago.

Hope your son can still pop in for a hour . My best friend is in a place 35 miles away. Not been in 6 months and feel so bad as she now is coming down with Alzheimer and just sort of recognized me then after us together most weeks for over 60 years. Her family can't get in either and so I afraid she can't understand what is happening. But her place seems to not be having any problems with the Virus. So many around here are. More aging this week. Hard to understand as they are so locked up
But Australia is doing better than US. so hope soon June it will end there and you will be out for you rides and lunch again. Just keep busy with the computer , Books and maybe family callings. Hope the health are keeping good checkups on you. My Doctors seem to have chosen this time to retire . Not been replaced yet. But I am well and watch things that need watching. One thing to be happy about. Can't get into the UK so given up on that trip. Hope your daughter did not have any Europe trip plans

Hello Jeanne,
Am sure you would not like to be in England at the present time.  Yes 4 months since this CV arrived as time went by the restrictions got worse but so far in here we have not had anyone with it.  When will it end?
I feel so pleased to have taken some computer lessons when I was 78.
Hope your Texas family are OK.victoria which is next State to us is having a bad time but then they did not close down as early as this State.
Was a rainy week but sun shining today.
DEREK just rang saying he had left a parcel downstairs (bananas, I think.
So pleased you got that reduction.  Keep well, Jeanne.  Now to tv. june

Good Morning.  Niece and nephew arrived safely, and we're going to go over to the Monastery for some quiet time and then I'll go back with them to the woods of northern Wisconsin for a few days.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Enjoy your trip Jane!
That sounds wonderful!!

Hi Gals.  Have a safe trip, Jane, and hopefully a cool one.

Jeanne, if you drive and use your AC, 90 degrees shouldn't bother you that much just going in and out of stores. At least it doesn't me, but then I do have low thyroid. Glad you got your reduction. I went on line to make an appt for the DMV license branch and found links for all sorts of stuff we have to do: inspection, registration, take title, Dr's license, etc. Like you said, so much paper work for the government.

Found out 1 auto ins was a duplicate and don't have to pay it! Yea! The cleaning girl is supposed to be here tomorrow. She was next door today, but didn't come to us.

I started a new book by John Sanford last night. Seems good. John liked it. Sometimes we agree on books AND sometimes not.
I still have one more bill to check out. Otherwise, not much plaanned.  Stay healthy everyone.  Sharon

Hi Gals!

Nothing going on around here - obviously.  I found out yesterday that it is a resident who has tested positive for the virus. I don't know who, or now bad, or if he/she is in the hospital or still here. Just still confined to quarters for the time being.

Stay well, Buddies!
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

JeanneP

mary. I wonder how a resident got it. You have been in lock down for a couple months now. Should have been only the work people coming into the rooms. This spreading confuses  me has who gets it and who doesn't. Some seem to be in crowds and others staying alone all the time.  Must be other ways than Cough, sneeze, hugging etc. You see a couple where one dies from it and the other O.K even though live same house. Sleep same bed and i suppose kissing also.
I will stick to just wearing mask, only my own car with my self. Quick trip to stores and in and out of library just one time. I am beginning to wonder about my laundry being done but they keep the place so clean. Only one person touches it and it is pressed and in plastic when I pick it up. I take my own soap and only take things now that can be done in the hottest water. I hand wash at home all my delicates. Always have done that as gentle wash in cold water.
All is fine with you as you have been back now 10 days.
Lots of other things happening all over on top of the Pandemic. Fires .Tornado.etc and so I feel more sorry for them.
I watched the Lewis Funeral Earlier. Very well done. Some good people spoke. I still enjoy Obama talking. Sure looking older now. Clinton also enjoy..You can't beat a funeral for the Coloured people always loved their music. Put their all into it. He was a good man.

Jane. forgot to say. Have a nice few days away. Be safe in the woods. Sounds great to me. Be cooler also. It is going to go down to 76 deg here all next week they say. Be nice. Maybe walk more.
Junee. Good news on your place having no problems. Was your package from Son. Really Bananas. ? A nice box of Chocs would be good to me right now. Trying to stay away from Cookies and candy though. Just one piece a day.
Are you getting hair cuts and your usual checkups?
JeanneP

Jeanne, residents have been able to go out for doctor's appointments and may have been taken by a family member, and not been as careful as should have been. Or may have been gone on a vacation (like I did).  Ohttps://pathgroup.luminatehealth.com/patient/covidrovr it might have been from someone who came in to visit or a home-health provider. Who knows.

Hi Gals. Jane forgot to comment on your quote from Twain. I like that too. Hope you're enjoying your trip and hope the road is fixed when you get home.

Junee, nice that your son drops off things for you. Glad you're safe in your facility.

Jeanne, Wow 70's next week! That's the MW for you, a roller coaster of temps. We may drop into the high 80's next week, but we just broke from 20 days of 90's. I don't go out much except to take the dog to the front yard for her business. Doesn't take long.  Yesterday, John went to the grocery and the paid companion had her car parked way up in the driveway almost blocking John's. He had a hard time getting out. Since I was out, I went to our neighbor's and asked her if she could park farther down the driveway or in the empty half of the carport because we didn't want to scrape her car. She didn't seem to take offense and moved it, but while I was at the door talking to her, the lady who lives there came to the door and introduced herself and invited me in. We had a nice chat and I was so glad to know one of my neighbors. She lost her husband in February and has 24/7 companions. Not sure why. She didn't seem incompetent.

I'm waiting for the cleaning lady and the PT.

I hope Sue posts soon. I worry about her. I'm glad she has Tim fairly close.

Everyone stay healthy and careful.  Sharon

Aug. the Oneth greetings from Northern Wisconsin. Its beautiful and cool and quiet here today.

It was a long drive up on two lane roads and dodging construction, of course.  I gave in and rode up with Don and Patricia, instead of driving, and Patricia will take me home on Tuesday and come back here on Wednesday. Their boys and wives and new baby are coming up today and tomorrow so I'll get to see everyone.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Have a great visit, jane!

Our summer heat has arrived !  Thursday we went on a Model T Ford tour with the club & couldn't believe how hot & miserable the day was .  It was 100F !  I kept watch on how I felt because I have gotten heat sick in the past  .  After the tour we had  Mexican food for lunch at a member's home & ate on the patio .  We had been looking looking forward to the tour , wished the weather had been a bit cooler .  I brought along a spray water bottle but I was being careful where I sprayed because I had sunscreen on my arms & face .  I sure don't want any more skin cancer !

JeanneP

Lost part of my posting.
So will just put in the end of it.

Finely cooled down here today. been raining of and on so my yard has not been cut yet this week.
SIL brought over from his garden lots of cucs again and cherry tomatoes. So all day been making pickles and lots of tomato sauce. Making a pizza at the moment.
The 90s weather was beginning to get to me but today feel great. Just wish could jump in car and go visit or take a trip. But trouble with the Restaurants and bars here and so Governor may be going back to #3. Silly people. At least they are closing down the people who are not staying  to what he want. 2nd time the will take licenses away. Good thought. This think will go one until next years even if everyone does things right. If not will go on for years. Health worried now as to what will happen when Flu shot time comes in Oct. for the shots  That is when I get mine. Going to be a mess not knowing to much.

Wow, Darlene. That is especially bad in the SW. Good that you are on top of the news. Stay safe.

Mary, they are going to start letting us go to the dining room next week!! They have 4 different rooms to serve in, each having a different speciality--normal dining, italian, spanish, and asian. Only 2 to a table and 10 to a room. The 2 have to be husband and wife, I think. Tables all spread out.

I took my "sheepdog" to be sheared yesterday. She doesn't look like the same dog. They sheared her ears too because they had gotten matted what with our move, etc. Really makes her look odd. She's eating fine now. Still don't know what her problem was. Maybe too hot for her.

I did 2 loads of laundry yesterday and have a 3rd in now. I was so tired last night that I slept really late today.

Jane, I think you were wise to ride with your niece and nephew. The fewer cars on the highway, the better. Have fun.

Alpiner, be careful with that kind of heat, especially if you've had problems in the past. I'm sure you were glad to get out though.

Jeanne, glad you're getting cooler weather. We dropped maybe 4 degrees but still in the upper 80's.

Marilyn, check in and let us know how you are doing. Miss Sue too.

Stay safe everyone. Sharon

SCFSue

Jane, I'm so glad you'll be with your relatives.  I' m sure you will enjoy the company.  Take care and enjoy your visit.  Keep us posted when you return home.

Tim and Kris were over here this morning to watch me eat my breakfast (they don't think I eat enough!).  We had a nice visit and they went home shortly after I finished breakfast! I wish I could eat more, but just have very little appetite.  They weren't here long as Kris wanted to go see her Mom who I think she said will be having some kind of treatment at the local hospital.

Not much else going on here today.  Take care Every Buddy.

Sharon.  Now I would not get excited about eating in the Dining room. If one can only eat with Husband or I suppose someone living with you then that can get little boring. Thing about eating out is to enjoy chatting with friends and I suppose the people serving you will be wearing masks. Bet the dining rooms will be so quiet.

I love grocery shopping but even those are feeling so creepy now. Everyone seems to be walking around like zombies. Good about the masks but if you get your cart close to someone then some act like you have the Plague. No smiles at all. I now go at night or first thing in the morning. Few people.

I also would not want to be getting dressed up to go to dinner.  I know where my friends live. Really nice but seems they all really dress like going to the best restaurants or hotels in town.

So I will still enjoy mine sitting at home in my comfy clothes watching the telly.
My closest daughter and her husband say now they owe me 5 dinners out in my favourite restaurant here in town. (Dress Up). owe  for last Christmas, New years. My Birthday. Mothers day. Can't think what No. 5 is. Oh! they fuss at Easter time so that was it. All places down at these time other than their Christmas and they were gone..

Doubt I will collect this year. Things seem to be going backwards here right now. Thinking they want to go back to No. 3 as lots of people not sticking to what the Governor requested. Next week will even be part of University people back and its the young that do not want to listen...
Soon I will be turning into a grouchy old lady. I even shouted at the Parrot this morning as he has found a way to get attention by pulling and tipping his seed and food holders down to the bottom of cage and turning them upside down.
Bet your little dog looks pretty again. Is it eating better now?
JeanneP

Marilyn

Well here I am checking in. All is well here. Freckles and I went walking in the park with a friend and her dog this morning.  Keith is about the same, still progressing a little more every day. I am  doing fine, just getting out is  big help. I have girl time with my neighbor up the street  every afternoon for a glass of wine and good conversation. I also got out to lunch with a couple of friends, Jo and Cookie. Jo looked after me after my foot surgery and I took care of her  when she had to have surgery for a broken ankle. My friend up the street, Chris, is going to have knee surgery sometime in the near future, she is waiting for the call from  the surgeon who is booked up  for another month. She is on the waiting list., so I will be looking in on her and her needs after the surgery.

jane

Good to see the posts from our Buddies!

It's a cool morning here in N. Wisc.  and overcast.

A quiet day here, and then tomorrow Patricia will drive me home via Baby  Lochlan's house in St. Paul to see the new Center of Attention.  I'm looking forward to seeing him.

Stay  safe and healthy,

jane

SharonE

Marilyn, it sounds like you have a good supportive neighborhood. Glad you are getting out some.

Jeanne, yes, Bunny is eating better and certainly looks a lot better. Eating in the dining room doesn't require real dressing up, just something nicer than you'd wear around the house.

Jane, I know you are looking forward to seeing the baby. They are so sweet. Have a safe trip home.

Nothing much going on here except that John has a vision migraine. Jane, I think I remember Ray had those. Did you do anything to relieve them?

Sue, I'm so glad to see you post today. We were getting worried about you. It's good that Tim & Kris kept you company at breakfast. It always makes you want to eat more when you have company. Take care of yourself and stay healthy.
Sharon

Good morning all..just checking in...going to be 100 plus every day this week...so because of that and the virus...staying in except for my early morning walk...2 of my 4 kids was here over week...we did the safety precuautions of course...so hard not to hug......I'm a hugger anyway...Jane glad you are enjoying your visit....Glad to see Sue posting...Hi Sharon Mary Jeanne and Marlyn....stay save

jane

Sharon...I'm the one who gets occular migraines.  My eye doc in Iowa City at the University said he gets them too.  I prefer to sit quietly with a cold cloth over my eyes.  They usually last 20-30 minutes.

Good to see Darlene, Sue, Mary,  Sharon, Alpiner, Jeanne, Marilyn and Patricia/Angelface.

jane

maryz

My John used to get the optical migraines, too, but his were usually tension related. I've been getting them, too, over the last few years. Mine seem to have no effects, though, except to distort my vision for about 5-10 minutes - no other ill feelings.

All going well here - still in lockdown. We got Covid tested today, but don't know when we'll get the results, or what'll happen after that.

My dear friend from years ago when we lived in Nashville fell and broke her ankle on Friday (transferring from wheelchair to car). She's been in the hospital and had surgery on Saturday. She may go home or to a rehab place today. She's mostly in a wheelchair anyway, so I don't know what kind of rehab they'd be doing.

Things have sort of cooled down here - in the 80s rather than the 90s - but with lower humidity. That's always a good thing!

I echo that hearing from Sue is always a good thing!

Stay well, Buddies!
