I've been thinking of Jean all morning. Her area was hit by Sally this morning but I think it has moved on. I saw videos from Pensacola. Some people were being evacuated from flood prone areas. Niceville is in the western part of the Panhandle.

Jean - If you can get online, I hope you'll let us know how you are.

Marilyne - Has the air quality improved any? I still see films of the fires raging. How is your daughter doing? I like the way you highlighted names in red.

Patricia - Welcome back. I saw your test post a few days ago. Did you get a new computer?

Donna and Mike are now in Florida. They'll be here for several weeks then go back to Vermont to put their house up for sale. They brought their camper (RV) down this time. The development has an RV storage area. She seems so happy to be here!

Times are changing! - First time this has happened to us....... Chape took a note I had written to my doctor to leave at her front desk. As he walked away, the girl at the desk called him back and said "There's no name on this!". He pointed to my signature and she said "OH! I can't read cursive!" Many schools aren't teaching cursive anymore, and children aren't taught how to tell time on an analog clock.  How are people going to read historical documents, family journals, etc.?

Donklan - Nice to see you again. I miss seeing the pictures you used to post.

Jenny - My great-grands are back in school, also. How is your weather?

Shirley - I have an I-Phone but only use it for family calls. I finally gave in and do texting with my children. I do like it for taking pictures and also my kids send me pictures on it.

Jackie - Are you getting used to being in your new home?

I've never been one to do riddles or games. I like an occasional quiz. I have friends who are addicted to some of the online games.  :)  Pat Scott used to love the early Farm game. Can't remember what it was called.

Marilyne

Jean - I hope we hear from you soon, that everything is okay?  I looked at my Florida map, and see that Niceville, is close to Fort Walton, which apparently was hit pretty hard?   Also Pensacola looks to be fairly close.  I'm going in now to take a look at The Weather Channel, and see if your city is mentioned at all?

Good day 💐

We were off this morning to the doc to get our blood drawn for our yearly physicals next week.  They drew about half the amount they used to and there was no urine sample taken.  We asked about it and they said that Medicare will no longer pay for it🤪  Probably why there was less blood drawn as well.  I do not even know why they are making us go in for our appointments as it seems many doctors are doing it over the telephone...which would be fine by me.  I would be happy as a lark if I never had to go to the doctor again😘

While we were out and about we decided to drive on down to the Colorado Capital area to see how things look now after all of the rioting and the protesters and so forth.  It was horrible to witness....chain link fencing around it and window boarded up and still a lot of graffiti. There are some Federal Buildings there in the same area and they looked the same as the capital did😩  We passed by several of the homeless encampments.....oh Lordy....the sadness of the whole mess is heartbreaking.  So much trash laying all along the roads.  Sadly way more illegal drug paraphernalia than you can imagine.  Everyday we hear they are trying to find a place to move these poor individuals where they will have bathrooms to use and showers.  Of course NO ONE wants them in their area!

Dr. Dave had to have Mohs surgery done on his head today for a melanoma they found in his scalp.  Michele is having her every other week Chemo also today.

Bob's iPhone was unfixable so he pulled out his old iPhone 4 and got it charged up and at least has a phone to use for now.  He wants to wait to buy a new one until the newest one comes out in a month or two....🤪🤪. I think this old one is going to drive him nuts, but he says he can deal with it😘

I am not sure if I mentioned it or not, but Sunday after we returned home Bob started having all these bites show up on his upper part of his body?  After much searching I came to the conclusion they are probably bed bug bites😡😡. He and I slept in different beds in the hotel room, so I am fine.  We thought that was the end of it as they were looking so much better last night, but sadly, he appeared to have some new ones this morning😡😢 We took very little into our motel room with us, so our actual bag of clothes were still in the car.  Tonight we will be on the look out for any hitchhikers that may have managed to come with us.  We accidentally left a pillow of ours on the bed, and that might have been a blessing in disguise!  I checked the LaQuinta where we stayed and they did not have any known bed bug issues.....but ???  I would like to think it might be spider bites but with the research I did on the internet they certainly look like bed bug bites 😩

We have been keeping a watch on Hurricane Sally as she hits the gulf coast.  We have many friends and relatives along the entire area😩
I, too, of course have been thinking about Jean and Larry and sure hope they did not have too much damage from the storm.  Bob has been unable to reach is sister in Panama City, so still not sure how they faired either.

MARILYNE, our local grands are two days at school and three days on line right now.  Our Boston grands started online school this week.  I just heard on the news that our local district voted to return full time the middle of October.  We have so many friends and family on the west coast that we hear from telling of the horrible fires and smoke in their areas.....the sky in Portland is frightening.

Today the smoke haze was very bad n the Denver Metro Area.  Over the weekend we were in a small area of complete clear air, but now it is back.

Good to see your post Patricia.....sorry you have had issues getting on!

I am sorry to be so long winded today....I guess I had a LOT to say and no one to listen to me but my SPECIAL friends.

I hope you all have enjoyed your day.

I am late getting in here today.

I have been thinking about Jean and Larry all day.  I sure hope they are ok.  The storm has been all around their area.  Hopefully, they are just getting the bad rain and no wind damage.

Glad everyone seems to be doing ok.

Jenny, glad you are back home.  Always nice to be able to sleep in your own bed.  I am sure it was hard to leave your dad.  You did leave some nice memories for him to think about, tho.  I have not heard anything about Medicare not paying for certain blood work and other tests.  I will find out the end of the month when I have to go for blood work.

Have a good evening and stay safe.

BEVERLY - I meant to mention your comment about the girl working at the doctors office, who was unable to read cursive writing.  I don't understand at all, why public schools stopped teaching cursive, and how to tell time on an analog clock.  Decisions like that, make no sense to me?

My two youngest grandchildren, were both born in the 1990's, and are now in their mid 20's, and never learned cursive.   The four older grandkids born from 1977 to 1988, all learned both cursive and how to tell time on a clock.  So 1990, must have been the turning point, when those two skills were dropped from all public schools in the US.  You have to wonder why, and who made the decision?

JENNY - I remember you telling us a couple of years ago that Dr.Dave had had a Melanoma removed from his scalp.   I think they do Moh's surgery, after a certain amount of time has passed, and they are confident that the cancer is not going to return?   I hope that's the case?

I wonder what the bites are, that Bob acquired while you were on your trip to AZ?     Bed bugs are a big problem in hotels.  No matter how clean and well maintained the hotel is, different people come and go all the time, so it's a problem that'd hard to manage.

JOY - I've been thinking about Jean and Larry, all day, and hoping that they are okay and that their house is too.  On my map of Florida, it looks like Niceville, is a lot closer to the coast than I thought it was.  The Weather Channel, reported that all cities along the Panhandle coast, are without power, so it's probably hard for Jean to let us know anything.

...sorry i never got to answer your question of " are you getting used to being in your new home"

...yes i feel glad to be here ( thank you for asking ) but, and there is always a but, my Multiple Sclerosis body, my swollen legs has been giving me trouble moving around on my feet..My cellulitis is now swelling on my other leg, both feet are swelling - feel very stiff and hard, ankles are slimming, legs above swelling, both now feeling like i am wearing a pair of very tight socks, although i go barefoot as hard wearing slippers over this carpet...so not venturing out much apart from an outside walk to the rubbish bins inside a very dirty and smelly shed... The MS nervous system inside my body, the electricity movements has also gotten worse...I will be glad when i have this illness - debilitating disease no more...one day i will be free of it..

Although better for me i am here rather than there, i have still my empty parkhome 140 plus miles away to get sold, i still have this hanging over me...

Apologies for not responding to others posts, i will when i feel more up to it...Oh and just paid a hefty automated BT landline phone - computer - tv bill...my usage after all three went down - pressurised into a new contract, after i moved here hit sky high..

Good morning.

I wanted to stop by and say Hello and see if there was any news from Jean and Larry.   I heard this morning, on the news, that Pensacola was hit very heard, and they are not far from there.  Sure hope they are safe and don't experience too much damage.  And, yes, Marilyne, Niceville does look like it is pretty close to the Gulf.
I thought the bridge that got hit and partly broke was the one she has talked about going over to get to one of the towns they go to.  But, I don't think that it is the same one.  I heard that a tanker had hit it, and also that it just got damaged from the storm.  Two different stories, so don't know which one is correct.  Just hope they are ok..

Please stay safe.

Automated phone messages, the pain of our lives, press 1 if? press 2 if? music, another lengthy message, another menu, if it is bla bla bla you are requiring, press 1, press 2 if, press 3 if...more lengthy chit chat, more music, another menu, press 1 if, press 2 if...due to the C Virus and unprecedented long waiting queues and high volume of calls, we are unable to answer your call, please try again later when we are less busy...dont you just hate this...well trying to pay my almost outdated annual tv licence as online i hit trouble, it went through with my bank but a small box with face came on the screen alerting me to " 3 D authorisation refused to connect " so onto my bank, you guessed it menu followed by music followed by menu, followed by sales patter or its quicker to go online as they are experiencing a very busy period...i slammed the phone down..

Who remembers those days when we got a live voice straight away after we phoned the number...a rarity these days...and they call this progress...

Yea, overcast but no rain today so far.  Luckily, we weren't impacted by the hurricane except for some rain.  But with all that turmoil in the Atlantic Ocean you never know what's ahead of us.

Marilyne, have been thinking about and all those terrible fires.  My daughter in B.C. says the smoke is bad up there, but they live just a few miles north of the Canadian/US border.

So nice that all of you were thinking of us.  Our elevation is 39 ft. above sea level and we haven't had any flooding in our area and the sandy soil is good at percolating (that is probably not the way I should be wording that).

Beverly, I hope your daughter has good luck in selling her house.  We bought a house here and didn't put our house up for sale until after we moved.  I was a little worried about that, but our house was sold the same day it was put up for sale.  What a relief that was.

Jenny, I hated to hear about your son.  If our grandson had seen to his melanoma right away i'm sure he would have had a different outcome in his health.  But he was a stage 4 before he had the first treatment.

Joy, I have been into a couple of interesting books and have neglected my posts.  We've been watching the Weather Channel and just feel terrible for all those people who have lost everything, especially the fires.  I don't think we can realize how devastated those people must feel.

Jackie, I hope you also can get your park home sold and sure hope something can be done for your legs.  I asked my son if he was taking any medication for his MS.  He said something had been prescribed but didn't help and presently he is just taking medicine for a different condition not related to his MS.  His several trips to Calif. have been difficult.

There is a little bit of sunshine, thank goodness, after several days of constant rain.  hope everyone is doing well.

Marilyne

JEAN - so good to hear from you, and glad that your house didn't suffer any damage from Hurricane Sally.  On the map, I looks like Niceville, is fairly close to Pensacola, which sustained major damage.  That bridge collapse looks very serious.  I hope you can relax now, and that there will be no more hurricanes for you to worry about.

The smoky air hasn't cleared yet, but is better today for the first time in many weeks.  Most of the fires that are still out of control, are up North of us in the area of Oroville. and on up into Oregon.  So many sad stories coming from Oregon, with entire cities being totally burned to the ground.  Now saying there is hope for some rain up there this week, so I hope that prediction comes true.

Joy

Jean, so glad I checked back this afternoon and saw your message.

I am so glad that you and Larry are ok.   When I looked at the map and did see where you are not that far from Pensacola and I had just heard on the news where Pensacola had been hit hard,  I was hoping that you didn't have much damage. So happy to hear that all you got was the rain.

That bridge that was hit was terrible, too.  I guess that is not the one you have mentioned that is near you ?  I heard 2 different stories about what had happened to it.

Glad that you checked in and you are both ok.  Stay safe.

Jean - I just came in to see if there was any word from you and there you were! Thousands are without power up that way so I was wondering if that's why we didn't hear from you. I also heard that Tropical Storm Teddy is on his way.  :(  This is going to be one dandy hurricane season!

We're hoping that Donna's house sells quickly. The market is good right now because so many people are moving up from the cities. She's in a rural area on 4 acres, not far from the Thruway, which is what New Yorkers have always found desirable.

Joy - Glad to see you didn't lose your post today!

Marilyne - I was hoping the air was clearing a little. It's so hard on everyone's health. Praying the fires will end soon.

Jackie - We've had a few of those calls and they are aggravating. I also dislike the robo-calls.

Good evening.

Busy day of some very needed accomplishments🤪🤪.   No canning like is going on in other places but we sure can see well out of our windows😘. What a job it was, and I was just a bit of support for my honey!

I have been hungry for Chile, so today was the day to fix it and it sure tasted yummy.

JEAN, happy to read you are OK and Sally did not damage anything at your place.  Bob talked to his sister and they did not have any damage to their home or their sons homes in Panama City either, but they too got a LOT of rain.  They were not sure about any of the rest of the family there. The bridge that was damaged sure is not going to be a easy fix.  I appreciate your kind words regarding my sons surgery and I sure wish your grandson had found his cancer sooner🙏
Teddy looks like another scary storm😩

BEVERLY, I know you are happy to have Donna and Mike there and I hope their home will sell soon.  I am shaking my head about Chapes expierence with the young lady that could not read cursive🤪🤪 I haven't had it happen to me yet but have been expecting to come across someone one day🤣

JACKIE, we have been thinking about you and wondering if your park home had sold yet? I am sure hoping for a buyer for you soon.  Do you have to press 1 for English on your calls also? Haha we do.  CRAZY😩 Trying to speak to a person is nearly impossible these days and when you do finally reach someone they listen to your story then tell you they have to pass you on to someone else and you start your story over again....this can go on many many times before you can get a answer and that is IF you are very lucky!  I do hope you eventually got your issue taken care of.

MARILYNE, everyday I pray that these fires and the horrible smoke will lighten or end, but it does not look very good.....between the fires and the hurricanes one certainly can have their beliefs questioned. I do hope your family continues to do well.  So many of our friends and family are having terrible issues from the smoke.  How could they not?  Especially the ones in the Portland area.

JOY, it will be interesting to see if you find anything different when you go in for your physical regarding what they are allowing now.  We have had issues the last couple of years of them not wanting to pay for my husbands PSA test.  He had prostate cancer six years ago and the doctor insists that this test is needed.  We will see what happens again this year.  Best of luck to you.  Bobs good friend from his college days lives in the Pensacola area and the water was rising fast on his property before the storm hit and we have not heard from him since.  Very concerning.

I hope you all have a good night of rest.

... i had no idea your Bob had prostate c***r six years ago, just a year or so after we all met at Regents Park UK..or if i was aware, i certainly cant remember...Yes so important of your medical system to have it checked out each year, oh how our times have changed...I am awaiting a home visit, assuming i do get one, from my new MS Specialist, i think also new GP surgery has booked me to see an annual MS Consultant, i remember one of many GP's i spoke to over the phone had mentioned it to me, i have yet to make any visits to the surgery, i cant get myself there, so not sure how long i will have to wait...there is one MS Specialist allocated to a good 400 - or 500 MS patients under there catchment areas so i could have a lengthy wait on my hands...Oh the joys of aging, the joys of being ill with a debilitating disease, the joys of being without ones forever partner, the joys of having to cope all by oneself with whatever our life throws at us - NOT..

FlaJean...
...Jean i so feel for your boy - your son who also is suffering with MS...so many people who do not understand it just think it is a walking problem, it is much more than that if people only knew what is going on inside our body's, we live it every day...The way i describe it is "it controls us, we cant control it " it has a mind of its own and it does what it does when it wants throughout each 24 hours of each day...its unpredictable..

Oh brilliant, just listening to our UK BBC news stating " confirmed C - Virus cases around the world has now risen beyond 30 million, and more than 9 hundred and 40 thousand have died since the outbreak began in China...just the news i want to be hearing first thing in the morning at 8.am..

Who remembers our carefree days when it was a pleasure to get out of bed to face another day, well not anymore with everything that is bad going on in our countries such as wildfires, C - Virus, riots, protests, whether harmless or violent...

Do you know, one word i hate hearing on our news during live interviews is" speculating " " speculating "on the answers....We can all play the guessing game ( lack of information ) but this guessing game gets us nowhere..

" decision times for Boris Johnson, he says the UK is now seeing a second wave of C - Virus cases coming in, with new cases doubling every week, with  hospital admissions also rising, and considers if nationwide lockdown restrictions are needed."

What a great start to the day, so here we go again...

There was once a time it was a joy to get out of bed and face a brand new day....Anyway, for now, life carries on, we must grab every bit of happiness and pleasure that comes our way, enjoy it while we can..
" There is no present like the time "

Marilyne

Jackie - I agree that "we must grab every bit of happiness and pleasure that comes our way, enjoy it while we can..".  Lots of attention is being given to the fact that it's been exactly six months, that we have been in coronavirus lockdown here.  It has been difficult in California, because things are just now slowly opening up, and it will be a long time before we ever see "normal" again.   It isn't the businesses and hair salons and restaurants that I've missed . . . it's the freedom, and the total lack of fear, that we've always had, and have taken for granted.

Beverly - Yes, it surely was quiet yesterday, here in Bait & Tackle.  I hope we do better today.   Good to hear that the rains are settling down in Florida, and here's hoping that there will be no more hurricanes there, and no more wildfires here!   We've all had enough weather!

Jenny - Have Bob's spider bites, or whatever they were, disappeared?  Sometimes itchy bites like that will came and go, and you never figure out what caused the problem.   I hope both of you had good reports from your blood tests?   I had mine in July, along with a urine test.  As far as I know, Medicare paid for both?

Good that your grandchildren are in "real school", for two days out of the week. That's better than full time on line learning, which is what's still happening here.   I will have to do some research, and find out exactly when cursive writing was dropped from the public school system here in California?  I remember being totally surprised to find out my two youngest grandchildren (now 24 an 25) had never leaned cursive, or how to tell time on an analog clock.

patricia19

Good morning, I'm back! Michael was able to fix the problem with the server keeping some, but not all of us out. If you know of any still searching for a way in or giving up, please let them know.

I haven't been able to get a computer as yet. We're still on total lockdown here with rising cases in the city—no services, social rooms, or staff availability other than CNAs or other essential staff. There are days that the automated hallway motion lights don't even come on. Transportation is not always available.

Thankfully, I have my cell and mobile devices! We've started a morning round-robin to check on everyone. Some of my friends live on the rivers, some in town, and some out in the bush. I'm grateful for them, and I'm grateful for friends online in this pandemic!

patricia19

Evidently, I'm not back as I still cannot find my posts nor can I access links.

MarsGal

Sorry to hear you are still having problems, Patricia. Mine is minor and I have a work around which is not too inconvenient.

Looks like I wasn't mistaken after all, Hollyhock is now moored at Charleston on her slow journey down to the Gulf Coast.

Things are quiet here. I must get my grocery list ready for tomorrow. I will need to put some air into my tires while I am out. I am also feeding George's cats for the next week.

Denver

A good Saturday HELLO to ALL 💐💐

I did a software update on my iPhone and iPad and everything is different today.  I even had to re-log into here😩🤪

We are still really Smokey here again today.  We went out yesterday afternoon to try to take some things to donate and our eyes were really bothering us even after using eye drops over and over.  Just NOT good!  BTW, we drove to two donation centers and both were closed.  Went by again this morning and they were still closed but said open at 12 PM.  Went back and finally got our goods delivered but we had to wait in a line of 10 cars🤣🤣🤣

PATRICIA, nice to see a post again from you.  Sorry you continue to have issues getting in.  Nice that you are able to check on your friends.  These are such scary times.

MARILYNE, now they have decided to send our elementary children back to full time school starting in a couple of weeks, AND they are going to start high school football and a couple of other sports.  I think it is a BIG mistake🤬 and it scares me to death that it is just going to cause more big outbreaks of Covid😢😢. Thankfully Bob has no new bites so we hope it all is in our past👍

JACKIE, it has actually been 14 years ago that Bob's Prostate Cancer was identified and treated.  I am pretty sure you knew but maybe not.  I do not know why I said 6 years as it has been 9 years since I had all of my surgeries done and that was just before we met.   Although his cancer left him with a few bad side effects he is still here and so far so good and I am very thankful🙏

I have been quite emotional/ melancholy lately and Bob and I were talking this morning about this.  I told him I feel like my "soul" is just tired and sad🤪. Anyone else feel like they can relate to this?

From all I am reading it seems no one else has seen any change in what they are getting done in regard to bloodwork and the like.  We go to the doctor for our physicals this coming week and I am going to ask about this. I truthfully DO NOT WANT TO GO to the doctor....I would feel much better if we could just do it on line😩

BEVERLY, happy you are having sunshine today, but brace yourself, it looks like more rain in the near future with all of the storms lined up😤. You have had so much rain and the W and NW can not get a drop to help with the awful fires😩😩

Nothing else going on around here.

Enjoy your day😘

Good afternoon.  Late getting here today as I went out earlier.

My son took me to a nice produce market and I was able to get some peaches, cantaloupe, a slice of watermelon, some other veggies and some baked goods.  I wasn't gone very long.  Came home and took a nap.  I woke up about 3:30 and couldn't go back to sleep until it was almost time to get up at 6:30.

The place we went to also has a restaurant with homemade ice cream.  I didn't want to go into the restaurant, so my son went in and got me some peach ice cream.  He said it was too early for ice cream, but I didn't think so.  It was so good.  I think they do make their ice cream there.

Jenny, I am only going for blood work next Thurs.  I go to several different doctors, so I really don't go for an actual physical, as each  one of them do their own thing.  I get the blood work done before I see the oncologist to check on the tumor marker numbers.  Last time it was up a little bit, after having dropped the past two blood tests.  The last time, my creatine was up a little bit, so that is why I have to go next week.  I am not sure what that is, but I think it has something to do with your kidneys.  It has gone up before, and not sure what causes that.  I feel fine, so I am not that concerned.

You mentioned how "sad" you have been feeling and I, too, have been feeling kind of "low" also.  Sometimes I just feel so confused about everything that is going on.  ANd, depressed, I guess, also.  Sometimes I feel if I could cry, I would feel better.  Not anything specifically that I need to cry about,  just feel like crying.  Yet, when I talk to somebody, then I kind of forget how I feel.  Sounds crazy, doesn't it???  I am sure all what is going on has to have some impact on people, You hear so many different stories about all the different things. Wear a  mask.......don't wear a  mask......  stay in.....ok to go out.... president says this......the medical people say that....   I feel bad for anybody who has to make decisions as to what is right or wrong.  We have NEVER had to deal with anything like what has happened over the past 6 -8 months and I think that nobody really knows what is the right thing to do. They are learning as they go along.  No wonder there is so much confusion.  As much as I would to, I sure am not going to solve anything.

OFF MY SOAPBOX !!  LOL   We al just have to "hang in there" !!

I am sure what I rattled on about doesn't help you feel any better .LOL

Hope everyone will have a nice evening.

...you put it in perspective, yes the wording of " confused " seems to sum it all up...also the usage of the word " restrictions " if like yours in the US keep changing like ours do in the UK, also different restrictions in place in different parts of our counties, no wonder we are so confused...

Jenny - I can relate!  I know exactly what you're feeling, when you said, "my soul is just tired and sad".  :'(    I'm trying so hard to be upbeat and cheerful, but it gets more difficult every day to keep up the facade, because it seems there is nothing good happening anywhere or to anyone.  All I do is worry about certain family members, and about constant nagging health issues that seem to pop up every day for me to fret over.   Also, the situation in our country, is so hopeless . . . no matter who is elected in November, I feel like the Country will remain divided, and chaos and hate will continue.  :(

Joy - I can tell you are feeling the same way.  Confused and helpless.  I guess we have to just keep moving forward, and hope that things will eventually be sorted out, and that there actually is, a "light at the end of the tunnel".

Happy Sunday wishes to ALL.

It is a beautiful day here in the Mile High City.  Much less smoke in the air and the temp is perfect.  I am half watching football with my honey, however my iPad is on my lap and a beautiful bouquet of flowers are sitting on the table next to me....a surprise from our youngest son and daughter-in L💗VE, that smell amazing❣️

The flowers were delivered just to help make me feel better and I am feeling so blessed to know how much my kiddos care about me❣️  Of course I cried like a baby and that even helped to give my eyes that have been bothering me from dryness a good washing out🤣🤣🤣

JOY, JACKIE and MARILYNE, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts as well.  Not seeing much improvement in our worldly problems certainly does add to the helplessness that we all seem to be feeling.  I thank you for sharing and I want you to know that my prayers certainly include my friends as I ask our Good Lord to watch over us and help us to understand the many things that are happening in our lives including the hatefulness that so many are reacting to as well.

BTW, JOY.....no way did I feel you were on a soap box....I thought you did a great job of expressing the confusion that many of us feel.   I just know that I am certainly thankful that I have you ladies that I can call friends to be able to express my thoughts and concerns with🥰

Time for me to go start dinner.....I am not hungry at all and nothing really sounds good, but we still have to eat😘

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

We have had an overcast day and it is sprinkling even now.

Not much has changed here and there isn't much to post.  Gigi was 54 years old today.  She is the baby of the family.  Jeff, her husband, was the youngest in his family, I was the youngest in my family and Larry was the youngest in his family, an interesting coincidence.

Does anybody here drink herbal teas?  I bought some chamomile tea bags when we went to the store Friday evening but I haven't tried it yet.  There are so many different types I didn't know what to get. I thought I might start with chamomile and see how I like it.  Anyone have a suggestion?

Our next door neighbor has a camcorder that takes a video of anyone coming up to the house.  It covers the front of his house and over to our driveway.  Yesterday he brought over a video showing a baby black bear coming up the driveway to his house and then walking over to ours.  If there is a baby, the mama must have been around somewhere.  The previous night we did hear a noise over by the side of the house and the recycle can was knocked over but we never put out the garbage until pick up day.  But we will sure be extra careful now.

Our eating area is in front of a bay window and this morning at breakfast Larry said "look at the bluebirds".  There were about 5 bluebirds looking for some mealworms.  Larry keeps dried mealworms in the bluebird feeder and sprinkles some in the little feeders that look like swings.  After all this rain, they were sure having a feast.  Also our regular cardinals and chickadees came in.  Even the Bluejay gave us a visit.  We always have 4 or 5 Mourning Doves everyday.

I hope we see a little sunshine tomorrow.  Love reading everyone's post and think of you with kind thoughts.

FlaJean...
...chamomile herbal teas are a good starting choice, they have a calming effect...can be drank with a little honey and lemon juice if you have a cold ( it got rid of mine the week leading up to my MRI scan )...Look for teapigs...they also do a " feel - good " snooze with Lavender, and a calm with valerian...Link...

www. teapigs.com

...they do a good selection, peppermint included, plus cold brews peach and mango - cucumber and apple - lychee and rose ( tried all three ) and the triangular shapes allow for more room to manoeuvre around, a better taste...
I am currently reading their book, The Book Of Tea, growing it, making it, drinking it, by Louise Cheadle, i am inquisitive to try their Tung Ting Oolong and their Silver Tips white tea ( non herbals )...

Another you could also try, Pukka herbal collection...elderberry & echinacea - lemon, ginger & manuka honey...

I would have loved to have watched your birds, one of our greatest pleasures in life...

Jenny...
... i am now left inquisitive to know what your stomachs lead you to eat, seeing's there was nothing you fancied...

A good Monday HELLO to ALL.

BURRR, there is quite the nip in the air this morning.

JACKIE, thankfully I had decided earlier in the day to fix a premade container of spetzel purchased at Costco, so all I had to do was open it up and put it in a fry pan to lightly brown it.  I have to say, it was very good and pretty much the best spetzel I have had in years.  I was very pleased with it.  I had two boneless pork chops that I pounded down pretty flat and put hunter spices, garlic, salt and pepper on them then pressed a small amount of panko on them and cooked them in my Air Fryer.  I cut up a combination salad and that is all.  Over all, it tasted quite good to me and Bob really enjoyed it.  Even though I do not have much of a appetite I know I have to fix something so I just get something out of the freezer and go with it, hungry or not.  I feel for you being the only one eating as it must be very difficult to decide what to fix and then have to look forward to eating it alone😢

JEAN, I enjoyed reading about the video of the bear.  Many have outdoor cameras now and it is surprising what all goes on outdoors that we normally would not see if the camera was not there.  We actually have 3 outdoor cameras at our home.  I enjoy looking at them and seeing the wild life.  We have three Raccoons that are here nearly every night and I view them on the front and back camera.  We have caught Bobcats and kits, fox, deer and once even a darn rat or large mouse on our front porch.  Never thought I would see that!  YIKES! Enjoy your new tea adventure.  I enjoy different teas but mostly in the winter months.

I wish you all a good day.
