My washer, dryer and refrigerator are 23 years old.  They were all new when I moved in.  The stove and the dishwasher were both here when I moved in but both have been replaced since that.  The DW about 15 years ago and the stove last winter.  But I have a (sort of) ace-in-the-hole.  My son is the current owner of a family business that goes back to the 1950s and he not only sells appliances, healso repairs all this stuff.  Of all these appliances, only the dryer has had a service call.

I had my meatloaf and scalloped potatoes for supper and it was gooooood!  There's enough for a couple more meals and some meatloaf sandwiches.  I wonder why I didn't do this weeks ago?

I'm going to hit the hay early tonight.  I have Cooper overnight because Frankie has an early morning tomorrow and I need him here because I have two appointments and plans to hit the Amish store tomorrow.

I'm going to say my good night's now and I probably won't be back later

Like most of you, I'm not ready for snow yet.  Patricia, please keep it there.

JENNY, I hope you're all fixed up now.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Jenny, I would just invest in a new refrigerator.  $1,000 for a part sounds totally ridiculous!  And if they can't even get the order right...well, that tells me a lot.
Get a new one!

Amy

Good morning everyone..

Periods of snow or rain ending this morning then a mix of sun and cloud. This is what they are predicting for us today! We did have rain during the night.

:cheer:  :cheer:  I finally got THAT job done yesterday!!  :pineapple:  :pineapple:  Glad that one is in the rear view mirror.

Today is is wait for a phone call from the oncologist ,they give you a 3 hour window for this .

Patricia, thank you for the heads up on the ceiling fans...we have 4 in here to check out.

Jenny, how did you make you with repairs on your fridge?

Phyllis , you're right , that is pure comfort food.

Jane, I didn't get my meatloaf done :( When I got into THAT job I stuck with it till it was done. Maybe tonights supper with a baked potato??

Still no Lloyd?

Better get going.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, looks like it will be cloudy most of the day and in the upper 50's. Yesterday was wonderful and Yvette and I went outside and walked around, felt great. When she left a t 12:30 I laid on the couch and slept almost 2 hours. Don't know what we will get into today except a few groceries I need.

JANE  I started my Christmas candy and cookies the day after Thansgiving and the first box to go was to Ca. Wanted to make sure they got it in time. My 2 grandsons out there sure looked forward  to those goodies. I had time to get the rest made for my sons' families in time.

SHIRLEY  hope you can take tha t trip to Mo. to see foliage. I have no t gone for a ride here this year to see any. See some beautiful trees just looking out my windows.

PATRICIA  that snow looks beautiful. One year here we had a bad s torm and work was let out the same time as the schools and the traffic was a horror. Some busses did not let the kids off them t ill between 8 and 9 PM. Parents were frantic. That was before everyone having cell phones. We only have one yearly inspec tion but this year we did not have any, yippee the witch couldn't find anything wrong.

PHYLLIS  my counter oven is wha  I use all the  time but it is not a convenction one.

AMY  I am no t ready for snow yet either. After I get my next 2 appointments for the year is can snow because I will just stay home.

WONDER if Lloyd is in the hospital again. I sure hope not.

Have a good day and be safe

A quick Good Morning Everyfriend!  As soon as the boinger goes off we'll be off and running around here.  We slept better than I expected last night.  Cooper is a snuggler and he likes to keep moving.  Mickie and I are sort of one-place sleepers and if we move, we don't bother each other.

I hope you have a good day!  I've been wondering about LLOYD, too.  Also wondering about JOY!

For Patricia: https://www.cuisinart.com/shopping/appliances/toaster_ovens/toa-60/

It would be perfect for my needs if it worked right.  Still tinkering with it but now another problem has come up.  Discovered yesterday that I must have a leak inside my car and because it has been such a rainy year I now have mold growing in the car!  I'm hoping to find someone who will clean it up for me.  Otherwise,  I'll be shopping for another car!  What else???  :o

Flu shots are done.  Arm is a little sore but not bad.  Everyone at Walgreen's was wearing a mask and keeping their distance.

I'm off to deal with whatever today brings in the way of more problems.  <sigh>

Good morning! It's still snowing, and yesterday I finally made two loaves of wheat bread, and last night I chopped all the vegetables and placed them with my marinaded roast to slow-cook overnight. It only took me from last Thursday to yesterday to finally accomplish that task! I am thinking about a bread machine, it would make it faster and easier, but I'm already low on space and have too much now. My magpie nature isn't very practical!

Phyllis, thanks for the description. I had seen those or that type back when I worked at Sears in 2013. My convertible microwave is simply one that goes over the stove and vents outside, two different appliances.

Gloria, we had something similar to your bad storm. In our case, it was the first-ever ice storm that anyone had seen locally. Cars, trucks, even some smaller Cessnas at the airport were sliding all over, and nothing was getting traction. I was working at the state building then, in the licensing dept., and our supervisor sent us all home for three days.

Jenny, I'm also curious about your refrigerator repair. That doesn't sound right to me either, but I'm ignorant of repair prices anymore.

Amy, it's coming for you, 🌨️

Joy

I just wrote a long message and it just disappeared.

Jane, thanks for missing me.  I did have that written in my message.  I guess I was posting at the same time as Patricia,  and it didn't go through.

I don't have time to re-write it.  I am ok, just don't have much to talk about.  I will try to get back later.

Have a safe day and stay well.

Phyllis, thank you for the site. I had been looking at the same one as the one we have now was making a noise all the time.....turns out it was the rotisserie going. Somehow the button was pushed .. :2funny:

Patricia, yes it is already to the north of us.....soon to be here no doubt.

Joy good to see you, now if we could just find Lloyd.

Let me join Jackie in the welcome back, Lloyd, you do keep that hospital busy! Glad they are so good at fixing you up. Were you in the one in Warrensburg or KC or where? Take care of you!

Had a busy day here. Mowers couldn't come early because of misty rain & fog, but got the job done and probably last time for this year. Had the pool guy here to close it for the winter, no more doing anything for it until spring. Beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Even have mums blooming to take to my parents grave. When I have fresh picked flowers I make the trip because Mom loved fresh flowers. I also take a winter/artificial Christmas type for the permanent vase. Looks like we will have one freeze this next week so hope the trees will stay pretty until I get there!

My kids are making plans for Thanksgiving & Christmas, looks like we will do Thanksgiving turkey meal at Christmas since families will be split on the real turkey day...They all still love the turkey, dressing, turkey/noodles, etc the way I fix & I will have plenty of help so kind of look forward to "one more time". It takes baking 2 turkeys to get all the gravy, noodles & dressing. Started out buying a turkey breast to have enough juice, meat & flavoring for the noodles (a south east Kansas specialty) but usually can buy the whole turkey for same price & the grands are thrilled to have 4 drumsticks! Last year there wasn't any left overs even though the pot of noodles had 5 or 6 one pound packages of Reams noodles. My stock pot is so big I have to stand on the step stool to stir! My roaster only holds a 13 lb turkey so not as much as it sounds like. 2 days of baking & the house will smell wonderful. I put in all the herbs & spices that recipe books call for pheasant under glass...

I don't do a lot of baking anymore. We have so many birthdays that one week in Nov.... 2 on 2 different days...I've lost track with the newer family members (marriage or babies). So some of the wives & mothers bake their kids or husbands favorites.

This year they will all be in their own homes & I will be trying to convince them I am perfectly happy to wait for Thanksgiving until the Christmas gathering! We'll see how that goes. I'm not much for big crowds these days, unless it is just family. The grands include their spouses families & at times it gets pretty loud with 7 great grands 10 & under.

Time to get something to eat, my day has been whacky... Have a feeling there will be some posts that squeeked in while I've been yacking. Sweet dreams to all and God Bless... Shirley

I was in the V A at KC MO. and they have a very good staff. I am very tired, no matter what hospital you are in you do not rest very good. so off to bed I go. Good night and sweet dreams for everyone.
the processes they done, was inert the tool in the artery in my right wrist and run it up through It and my heart. I was awake through the complete processes. I was abele to see part of it on the mounter but not all of it because they had two many students watching, and learning. I watch it every time and see IT the Best I can, I have stents put in several times and some of the times was able to see very good. I have 5 or 6 stents now.

LLOYD, I join everyone else in being happy to see you back.  Now you mind the doctors and do everything they tell you to do.  Watch what you eat and try to get what's good for you!

Good to see you, too, JOY.  I hoped you were OK and glad to hear you are.  Come back soon!

I got a lot of things done today.  First a trip to WM to get my hair cut and on the way out I picked up a couple things I need and had a nice chat with the gat at the checkout.  She's also looking forward to retirement.

Then I came home and took care of the doggies and the kept a yearly appointment with the nurse at the clinic.  Made 3 more future appointments....one for a BP check, one for blood work and one with my new Personal Care Physician.  Also got a flu shot!

Another stop at home for lunch and a walk with te doggies and into town to pick up prescriptions.  Altogether a busy day.

Now I'm heading for the haystack.  I sure hope its full of zzzzzs because I'm tired.  I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning ..

:cheer:  :cheer: Kyle's oncologist phoned for follow up on his CT and blood work and he is fine!!! One more session  and it will be 5 years and he is free!!

Another rainy night and into this morning. Need to plant the white lilacs when rain lets up and do some domestic duties . Yesterday I baked 8 doz oatmeal cooking plus 8 doz peanut butter cookies. Now we have something to dip in a cold glass of milk!

Lloyd, it was great talking with you and Nancy yesterday. Lets pray the new meds are going to do their job and remember you have to help by doing your job. Listen to your Dr. You each need each other and we need you here.

Jane, have you been  busier since your retirement? We thought there would be "empty" time but goodness they must have shortened the days because they go just as fast or faster than when we were working. Forgot to tell you when I was talking with you. I did can the baked beans and we had a jar yesterday and they are good!! So now I will make up a couple of batches and can them . One batch makes a lot for us to eat and I am always sending some over to the neighbour so now I will can them.

Gloria, my friend just got her pacemaker appointment and it is in Dec and I take her. We hope no new snow and clean roads for that day or she cancels the appointment.

Good Morning Everyriend!  We had an early arrival this morning.  Cooper is here and he's ready to join us for breakfast when the boinger goes.

AMY, I have you and KYLE both in my prayers.  You must have done something right to get him to this point.  And I think it takes two to do that.

I haven't tried canning baked beans.  That is what you meant, isn't it?  I know they wouldn't go to waste if I did.  I was never very good at beans.  That's my sister's thing but I'd sure be willing to try.  Maybe you'd share the recipe?

It never occurred to me that they might have shortened the days after I retired.  I'll have to think about that.  There sure isn't time in them to work...not even half days!

There goes the boinger.  I have to feed the troops!  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!  Make it your own in every way.  And don't forget to share it!

Good morning everyone, woke la te and Yve tte will be here at 10:30 this morning.  I agreed with her on this when I really didn't have to but already told her this is the last day for coming that early. T oo used to the 12 -2 and since I now have 3 more hours a week 2 days are from 12-3 and 2 days are 12-2:30. Shopping day and laundry get the hour. This will be short, still have to have breakfast and get ready to face the day. For ry here this morning and looks odd, we don't have fog often in this corner of the state.

LLOYD  so glad to see you here. Wish someont there could keep in touch with us when you are in the hospital. You know we worry when you are not posting.

Hae to get off here , getting late.

Have a good day and stay safe.

I'm (sort of) closing down for the night.  I've been fighting back pain and spent most of the day doing exercises.  It feels better now but I'm going to rest it.  If it means getting up earlier, so be it.

I got all the emails and loved them all.  I'm definitely going to try the beans but I gave away my instant pot so I'll have to do them the old fashioned way.

Tomorrow, a guy is coming to check out doing my end of summer yard clean up.  He's done some work for me before and he's pretty reasonable.  My son's been doing my mowing and trimming but he had a guy quit and now he's not only doing the two jobs he's always done.  He picked up the other guy's work too until he can find another guy!  So my yard is kind of suffering.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning everyone. Got a notice from the office yesterday. Starting this morning at 8:30 a member of the fire department and the maintenance man will go to all the apartments to check the fire alarm and the smoke detectors. They usually start on the first floor but it would be my luck to have them start up here if I am not ready for them. I no longer  get dressed as soon as I get up any more. I take my time just being lazy now. I'll blame it on my age.

AMY  that link is great and I will send it on. I make my beans in my crock pot now and they come out as good as in the oven, I do put some in containers and freeze them and they do freeze good.

JANE  after the first month when I retired I really cleaned my apartment. How I wish I could still do that.

LLOYD  I hope you slept as good as I did last night.

Finished my coffe so time to make my breakfast and then get washed and dressed and wait for the check from fire department.

Have  good day an be safe, "wear a mask wear a mask  wear a mask."

I have to make a quick trip to WM.  They got in the jars that I need and they won't last long.

I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning WORLD! I think I did pretty good with the sleep (never enough). Gloria, one of the smoke alarms from the basement is laying here by the microwave waiting to be put back. I put a new battery in quite some time ago & it kept beeping so thought it alarm was bad. Turned out just a dead NEW battery but lazy about getting it back & keep forgetting to ask one of the kids to do it when they are here.

We are supposed to be in the 80s today & have snow/ice by Monday. How about them apples??? Cats fed but I'm going to boil a pot full of eggs to have ready for whatever. I enjoyed making potato salad with just one microwaved potato & eggs ready, but last time I was out of onions & just not the same without....Still need to get the RV winterized but would love to go to MO first, we'll see how that works out.

I never thought about canning beans but have frozen my share. Good protein so not sure why I don't have any ready to eat NOW!

Amy, every time I skim past the posts & see your, "Callie is missing"... I do a double take. MY Callie is sticking like glue by the toe warmer below the sink. I have to insist she go out now & then for a little exercise. She swoops around the pool & dashes back in the door if I don't get it closed fast enough. Gotta go feed me.........have a great day, Every Friend.. :eat:  :kitten:

Amy

Good morning everyone..

I had better get the outside work done early as they are calling for more rain!!

There is a great sale on at the one grocery store and would like to pick up the ground chickens for the dogs.

Jane, you can do them in the oven or crockpot as Gloria does. What ever works for you.

Gloria, I just did some masks for little one and the lady told me her little fellow loved his.....hockey on one side and frogs and bugs on the other!! Wonder which side he wears in school??

Shirley good morning. Our neighbour also has a Callie and Callie is so beautiful with all her different colour and a personality to match. Neighbour and I will be standing at the fence talking and soon you will see a little head pop up in the screen door watching us. Too cute!

Better get a move on here.

Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe..
