Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

MarsGal I have ordered from Vesseys before and they are a great company to deal with. Thank you for new sites to check out.

There is still beauty and elegance in this.
Thank you Bubble for sharing Jack's photo!!

I always told Jack that he composed his photos same as any artist did a painting, perfect with out any need to do anything to it. Jack's photos put Ansel Adam's to shame, Jacks were a story and Adam's technique. Thanks, Bubble, for reminding us how good he is.

posting from Shirley

Finally got down to the river today, it was a struggle but have got to get these muscles working again.

Mainly showing what large trees the beaver is cutting down and then how it is trimming off the branches to take to the den. After 31 years I've never found where the den is, walked this whole side and went across the river trying to find it looking back. There is a dam not far upstream that protects the city from flooding, and another dam a mile or so downstream, that catches the brush that washes into the river. The downtown stretch of river is kept level and completely pristine.

Shirley, there is a saying busy as a beaver and he sure was!! We have lots of them here and you often see the road fellas breaking up all the sticks that the beaver has used damming up a culvert. Next day the beaver has it all back in again!!Thank you for sharing..

Bubble thank you for posting.

Good for you, SHIRLEY!  Getting down to the river must have been taxing.  That really was a busy beaver!

Shirley, those beavers have been busy gearing up for winter! Here the city has gone around and put wire cages around the base of the trees in town, and when in the summer beavers use the various bridge supports for their dams, the city sends guys in boats to tear them down. However, away from the city, you will see that with birch trees lying every which way.

Sky in London UK today and we are in November!

Ominious but beautiful clouds Bubble! I've always been fascinated by clouds and have several photos, but these, from your son? are amazing!

so_P_bubble

Yes, from Tany.
My flip phone died (of old age? lol) and I finally bought a smart phone.  Hard to learn, but my kids are delighted: now they can use whats-up with me now and send photos instantly.

patricia19

He's very creative! I purchased a smartphone a couple of years ago, and I'm still using it as more of a repository than a phone.

Shirley

Okay, had supper & came back to see the cat.... message on the way, Bubble!  The clouds are beautiful. I have 2 friends that had children living in London ... some time ago. One's son was a "rock" singer with long hair & the poster she brought to show me was very impressive. The other's daughter was in the opera, can't picture it but spent her life working toward that goal. Does Tany have "roots", where did he grow up? I'm always curious about people. Are you able to gather with your family these days?

I'm not sure how Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays will go this year. We have a whole lot of birthdays in November so lump them with Thanksgiving. That's when I give my Christmas presents of money & gift cards (usually Amazon). They are supposed to buy the birthday/ Christmas presents they want instead of me buying & getting something they didn't want. At Christmas I expect them to tell me what I got them or I tell them "I don't have a nice Christmas because I did buy anybody anything"  :'( ... they have finally gotten the message.

I think Tany is putting his roots in UK now. He was born here in Israel and grew up here as a "rebel" mainly against the religious restrictions.  He now seems to be happier and that's OK with me. When I remember how against he was of learning English: why should I learn it? If they want to talk to me they can learn my language! Of course he was dyslectic... But now he manage fairly well.

I see Illy about once a week when she stops here after work.  Aviv I avoid for the present because school started again and I am wary of these kids mixing together.

Chanukah will be different this year :(

Bubble, I'm glad that Tany has found his niche and is happier. Sometimes, they need something different to be happy, and that's okay.

Sandy

I finally saw the cat before
you posted a picture of where the cat was....

Amazing !

There is a hidden object, do you see it? Please PM or email me if you do.

Bubble - Thanks for posting Jack's picture. There is a stark beauty in bare trees and not a cloud in the sky!

Bubble - I fought against a smart phone, too, but I've enjoyed it. It takes good photos which I can send to the kids. I finally gave in to texting! When we make phone calls we tend to spend an hour or two talking, but with texting we can communicate when we only have a few minutes.

Shirley - The beavers were busy when you couldn't check on them. I've always been amazed at how much they can do in a short time.

You all have a better imagination than I do. I'm having a hard time seeing that as a cat!  ;)   I'm still working on the tree!

Amy - Years ago when I lived in Vermont I ordered almost all my seeds from Vessey's. Studying the Vessey's catalog was a Spring ritual!

MarsGal

I see it Patricia but I don't know what PM means and I don't have your email (thought I did). Anyway, after staring at the picture for a few minutes it popped out and I can't not see it now.

It is nice to see some of Jack's pictures again.

Bubble I am not used to seeing pix of London with lots of trees in them. The sky really adds to the effect.
