A blond woman was speeding down the road and was pulled over by a female police officer who was also a blonde.

The Blonde cop asked to see the blonde driver's licnce.  She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated.

"What does it look like?" she finally asked. The policewoman replied:
'It's square and it has you picture on it.'

The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it and handed it to the policewoman. 'Here it is,' she said.

The Blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying, "OK, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop..."

Good morning.

Making this a quickie as we will soon be off to do grocery shopping for my friend and we just need milk.
Not sure what jobs will get tackled today....guess I will just wait and see what does get done.

Bubble thank you for the delicious new start, and pearls of wisdom.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning,

This is a repeat of my post in "Bait and Tackle" (same story - second verse?  :D )but it had been so long since my last post that I thought y'all might have forgotten me!

It's been a very busy week!

On Monday, I learned how to join in an organization's meetings and connected Book Club via Zoom without having to install the program.

On Tuesday,  I had my hair done as usual and then came home to fix lunch for #1 son before he took me to a "maintenance" doctor appointment.  All good there   He put Christmas decorations in the garage cabinets, put Christmas dishes in the cupboard over the sink and changed a light bulb while he was here.

On Wednesday, I took care of some business phone calls before son took me to another "maintenance" doctor appointment.  This one was to check the pressure in my eyes which had been creeping toward glaucoma.  I'd been on two kinds of prescription eye drops and- Hooray! - they lowered the pressure to a very acceptable level.  Don't have to go back for 6 months.

Yesterday I did some errands and a few Domestic Duties.

Today I'm doing laundry, making sliders, microwaving a package of baby carrots to "crisp tender" and chilling so I can have them instead of potato chips with my lunch sandwiches.  Grocery order to be delivered this afternoon.

Family who had tested Positive had very few symptoms (son said biggest issues were Boredom and "Who's Going To Cook?") and were released from quarentine (never can remember how to spell this!).  Miss Ellen flew back to NYC last Monday (no issues - flight even landed early), Miss Emily is now a salaried employee at the Chiropractic Clinic where she did her Fall internship and Sir Carson has returned to work and classes at OSU.

My prayers and good wishes for healing are with each of you who is experiencing health issues and other traumas.

Onward and Upward.

It turns out the 16th-Century policy on the plague may have been on the right side of science. And people rebelled just as they're doing now, even as fifty million died in one European outbreak.

Well, Bubble, that was a surprise!  I don't even have that image saved anymore, I don't believe.  Thanks for bringing back an old memory.  And, thanks, for giving us a new, clean space.

We've had nice sunshine the last couple of days but rain will return this afternoon so it looks like the weather of 2020 is going to be the weather of 2021.

Nothing much new around here.  Trying to get my Covid shot but the vaccinations are going very slowly in this county so just trying to be patient.  Eventually it will get done.

Take care, All.

I think I should have skipped breakfast this morning.  Last week I was having a craving for Malt-O-Meal hot cereal.  So, having bought a large box, I decided this morning would be a good time to fix some.

For 1 Serving, 3 tablespoons of the cereal to 1 cup of boiling water, stirring continually (it forms lumps really easily)!  Measuring out the 3 Tbs of cereal, I spilled about half of it in the sink; just a mess, no problem.  Remeasured...water was boiling at this point.  Started stirring the cereal into the boiling water, but before I could reduce the heat under the pan, it roiled and boiled and spilled over the stove burner, as I'm trying to lift the saucepan off the heat! Got that done without any physical injury, and continuing stirring, but my nice clean stovetop and burner (which I detailed in a post on New Year's about spilling the black-eyed pea juice on the stove & burner and instigated a whole stovetop cleaning including burner pans, etc.) is now ready for another cleaning.

Should have just had coffee and juice! :-[

Phyllis, I see lots of your graphics showing up on the left from the Random Image gallery.

Shirley

Tome, so glad you reminded me about that nasty habit of cream of wheat AND Malt O Meal boiling over! I have a box (don't remember which) my daughter had delivered to me when I had Covid & she had food sent to me. NOW I remember why I've avoided opening it now & not cooked both for so long. Glad oatmeal isn't as bad about making a mess. I eat a lot of eggs & lately have been microwaving a potato & then after taking  peeling off, chop into little cubes & browning in the skillet with plenty of butter ...to have hash browns with my egg. Yum! Breakfast is my fav meal.

Thoughts with all of you but my microwave is beeping that my spaghetti is hot & I don't have the salad fixed. After food YOU come first!  Old saying from the 1950s.......

JaneS

Another busy day and no one visiting all afternoon or evening!  I took my living room curtains down and washed them and while they were in the washer and dryer, I washed the windows.  That wore me out.  I got two of the curtains and two of the valances ironed and back up and I know what my chore for tomorrow will be!  The rest of the curtains and valances are waiting.

I might be getting an air fryer tomorrow.  A store a little way away has one one sale plus I have a 15% off coupon good for one shopping trip to the store.  If Cathy goes there, she's going to get me one.

SHIRLEY and TOMEREADER, couldn't you heat the water for your cereal on the stove and when it boils, remove it from the stove to sit on a hot pad on the counter, add the cereal and stir?  That way you wouldn't be risking a messy stove.  I've never made what you're talking about so I don't really know but it's a thought.

CALLIE, thanks for the update.  You've been a busy lady!

I'm off to the haystack now.  I hear the zzzzzs calling my name.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy, germ-free tomorrow.

I was thinking of reviving some of Joan's images, but they are all hugely imprinted with Photo Bucket, so useless :( I had permission long ago to use hers and yours here.

JaneS, that is how Don was doing his cereals when he was at my place. At least it is much safer too.

Good morning everyone, it is pouring here, for a change the wea ther guessers got  it right but I don't hear the strong wind they said would be here with the rain.
We got a message under our doors yesterday, the Vaccinations will start in this building on February 2nd from 4 pm to 10 pm. They usually start on the residents on the first floor. I cannot see me witing to 10 at night to get a shot, most nights I am sound asleep by 9 pm. There will be a second one on 2-23 and another one on 3-16.

BUBBLE  thank for the nice clean Soda Shoppe. How may of those old PSP's do you have? I saw Phyllis' name and know she does not do PSP any more. I still miss it but know I cannot do it anymore.

PHYLLIS  was so nice seeing your sundae  in  the first graphic. Looks good enough for me to enjoy.

JANE  hope you took advantage of the coupon. I call Yvette a coupon queen and  she takes advantage on sales with those she has. She sure saves me money when she shops for me.

CALLIE  how grea t that Emily was hired by the clinic. Wonderful she didn't have to hunt  for a job.

BUBBLE I have some of my old creations if you would like them. Think I s till have some I used in PhotoBucket.

Think I will go get  on the couch and have a nap, woke too early this morning.

Have a good day and stay safe from Covid.

LLOYD  wish we would get snow instead of rain.

Good morning..

I woke to a winter wonderland! I don't think I will ever get tired of looking at the beauty of it. Of course this also means more work ,my dance with Mr Snow blower is inevitable.
We also have to take the garbage away sometime today.

Gloria, you would love what we have ,not too deep but gracing the pine trees and sitting on bare branches like fluffy cotton balls.

Better get ready to go play in the snow.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Gloria, Photobucket is gone and those PSP saved there will probably have the Photobucket imprinted on them just as it happened on Joan's.

But other than that I will be glad to get yours or anyone's too.  You must all be tired to see mine all the time!

Amy

Bubble, never tired of seeing yours or Patricia's. I am amazed at the word you both do so keep'em coming please.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's actually only in the mid 30s this morning but there's no wind so it doesn't feel as cold as it is.  Now snow but we had some rain overnight.

BUBBLE, I'm another who loves the pictures!  I don't do that stuff.  Never learned how so I'm in awe of those of you who do it.

I have heard nothing about any vaccines for the older generation in this area unless you are a nursing home resident or you live in Senior housing.

Cathy was here this morning and noticed that the curtains were all down and the ironing board was up.  She warned me, in no uncertain terms that I am not to climb up to put them back up.  She also took some home to do an adjustment on them to save me some time and changed a light bulb in the hall while she was here.

I guess I better get moving or nothing will get done around here today.  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Good morning from another quiet morning. Nothing new here either other than Farrah is getting brave. Yesterday, I was visiting at my door, mask on and appropriate distances observed when she decided to come up and peer out and down the hallway. This is the first time in the five years she's lived here that she's gone within several feet of an opened door.

I wish that they would come here to give the vaccinations. You have to call and make an appointment and then go to one of the health centers specified. People have asked about having it here, but management says we are not in that designation. It is enough that the state decided everyone 65 and over is now eligible since January 11th. And that was undoubtedly because Alaskan Natives are a huge voting block in this state, and they revere elders

JaneS, about the cereal; you really, truly have to stir it into the boiling water, and if you take it off burner, the cereal does NOT mix into the water, and you get great big clumps/lumps that aren't cooked, that you can't eat.  In a previous life
(lol) I could navigate the pouring/stirring quite well. But since I broke the shoulder/wrist, I have to use that hand to pour, while the good hand stirs!  It's just an inconvenience when I make a mess.  The other day about lunch time, I was heating some soup, lightly covered so as not to spatter...ha, ha, ha.  The cover blew off the bowl, and I had clam chowder all over the microwave.  Not my fault, but I'm the one has to clean it up! Wonder if they'll invent self-cleaning microwaves?

Just here for a minute to let you all know I am finally feeling better.  The medicine is final starting to kick in.  My breathing is much better and I don't have that hyper ventilating feeling anymore.  I will see the Heart doctor on Tuesday and my Primary doctor in a couple weeks. I had a phone call visit with the Primary Care doctor yesterday  She was happy that I was feeling better.  She really didn't want to increase the medicine , as she doesn't like to give older patients strong anti depressants. I am just grateful I am feeling better.  Still weak and tired.  Will try to get back soon.  Thanks for your thinking of me.

Good Morning Everyone from the
rainy and warm (almost 50) rocky
coast of Maine.

Amazing weather we are having...
Middle of January and we still haven't
seen  a real New England Winter..
(I wonder if global warming has anything
to do with it??)

I hope that everyone has a better
day and to those who are really
feeling poorly,  may you feel better
and better as the days go on.

The news here in the USA regarding
Covid and Politics is still awful..

Here is hoping  we improve greatly
in the next few weeks...

Peace to Everyone..
love
Sandy

Put an apple crisp in the oven for dessert and finished up left over s for supper.
I did manage to get some sewing  done, not a lot but some.

Joy, great to see you and can tell you are feeling better. Keep up the good work.

Sandy good to see you also..
