Time to hit the haystack!  I've tried to complete my "nothing" today but I kept getting dragged away from it so I'll have try to finish it tomorrow!

AMY, Mickie got lots of specials today, she took a car ride with me, we went for two extra walks, she had some goodie snacks and even a little piece of birthday cake.  Also lots of hugs and smooches!

Yes, SHIRLEY, I always think of her name spelling as the "girl" version!  She's such a sweetheart that it's easy to love her!

I passed on all the good wishes from her friends on S&F.  Thank you very much!

Now I'm off to bury myself in the haystack but I have to close the windows first.  We're supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Amy

Good morning..

Cloudy  but no rain yet.. rain gave us a reprieve for piling wood yesterday.

Today wood..more wood till this pile is done. Last night the loons were calling across the lakes. Enjoy their echoing songs .

Shirley our front yard in peppered with trugs at the moment.8 of them but 5 are to be picked up by their new owners.

Patricia, how was your trip? Did you manage to get all that you wanted done.

Jane, I bet Mickie gets the royal treatment each and every day. I know these dogs do.

Callie are you alright?? Saw where a tornado went through OK on the news last night.

Better get a hitch in my get along..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, yes I am still ar ound but not here at the PC  too long anymore. We did something different yesterday. A beautiful spring day so went out for a walk, felt wonderful-but by the time we got back to the door to come inside my legs started getting wobbly. Yvette is so good she noticed how I was walking so she got the pain cream I have and gave me a back massage and did my legs, too.

JANE  I know how tired y ou will be when your family leave but hos wonderful it is to have them there with y ou. I remember how big my apartment was when my hatghter, SIL and 2 grandsons left after a visit. I wish t hey could all be here for a visit  again.
Happy Belated Birthday

PHYLLIS  looks like both of us will have to live wi th pain. No t nice but at least we are still alive.

AMY  getting so I don't have to tell Yvette what I want or need. She has made the days  she is here she knows what needs to be be done. Tuesday is grocery day, yesterday laundry and tomorrow is housework. Oh boy I had to copy your doing nothing because you started yesterday. I will have  to send that to Yvette.

SHIRLEY  must have heard you because here I am this morning.

AMY  nice when people say you look younger you are. I get that at times, I do not have a lot of wrinkles on my face and tha t must be the reason.

LLOYD  I always wanted a greenhouse but have stopped wanting one. Impossible where I live now.

PATRICIA  I am lost on weekends without Yvette but am thankful she is here 5 days. Unusual for the company she works for lets her come for 5 days a week.

JENNY  No one is as happy as me  to hae Yvette here 5 days. Usually on gets the same CNA 2 or 3 days. I get 13 hours a week of her help.

Time for me to get out of this chair and lay on the couchfor at least 30 minutes.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, it's 33 here now with a high expected in the late fifties. The snow is still expected on Friday, which is unfortunate as it's basically melted now. May temperatures are not expected to be more than what we have now.

I wasn't able to get out yesterday. I keep thinking I will, but it doesn't happen. When I attempt too much, my leg lets me know. It isn't as painful as it was, and it is improving. I just expected more.

Sandy

Gloria,  I am glad that you are doing well.

Patricia,  I am glad that you are doing better.

LLoyd,  I hope that you make out well at the VA today.
You deserve some  good luck.  It is over due! (HUGS)

And best wishes to every one else !!!

Good Morning,

Amy, tornado was halfway between me and the Texas border! Thank you for your concern.

Bigger news story this morning is the hail storm that hit Norman last night.  Main target was an area known as Automobile Alley because it's a mile long stretch of used car lots.  Millions of dollars damage to windshields there - plus very heavy damage to blown out windows in business buildings/residences within several miles of there. News showed a customer-made video of baseball size hail stones "raining" down on the floor of a Walmart due to skylights being broken.

If OKC were a clock face, Norman would be south of 6:30.  I live "north of noon" so, although we had had steady rain for a couple of days, we did not get the wind or hail...at least, not yet.  Oklahoma storm season is not over.

All is well in my little corner of the world.

CallieOK

Well, I guess I chased everyone away since I couldn't talk about trugs, boingers, cooking, pets or health issues.
Sorry 'bout that.  Back to my e-books and writing projects.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Amy

Callie, no chasing here, we were out piling wood. I tried to get the girl at the bank to help,  she did ask if she could do anything else for me but piling wood wasn't one of them. I even tried the Huck Finn on how much fun it is but she said nope.. :2funny:

Callie, after I read your post, I went and looked for news reports. we have had hail covering the yard like snow, a couple of times, but never anything that destructive!

Amy, when we spent a year in Kentucky with my ex's family, I piled wood several times, (always on the lookout for snakes), and put up food in the root cellar. That was an interesting time up in the hollers!

I had purchased a 4T external online and have spent the day organizing and tossing.

JaneS

I'm heading for the haystack in a few minutes.  It's been a tiring day and I can't figure out why!  I just kept "movin' along".

Callie, I was very interested in the locations of your storms and I relaxed when you gave such good directions as to where they were.  Since I now have 6 family members in two houses in the Tulsa area, I take special interest in where the storms are.  Thank you for the specifics!

Gloria, so nice to see you and yes, you are so lucky to have Yvette!  It sounds like she's a winner all around!

AMY, I think that Bank Teller was just a bit lazy for not wanting to pile wood.  It would have given her a good chance for some fresh air and good company!

I think my eyes have entered slamshut mode so I better get to bed while I can still pry them open to see where I'm going before they slam shut again!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

I had one of my super long posts just about ready to post when a friend called, we talked about an hour & the computer went to sleep....and the post got lost in the shuffle. Been lucky lately & not lost any for a while so was just typing in the post box & not on Word Pad... my own fault.

Callie, I have not heard news today, you'd think just ONCE all day I'd be in front of TV at the right time, but.... sorry about the hail. We've had our share over the years, so many years. One year not long after we moved to this house hail hit just this corner of town. Was so bad it totally pulverized the flowers along the sidewalk as well as everything else around. I was standing in the street talking to neighbors when a car came driving slowly by, the side mirrors were dangling by the wires, all windows were shattered so completely the lady driving could barely see out and dents one on top of the other to the point even the driver gave a chuckle at the sight. She stopped to visit with us & said she was at the grocery store & had to just wait till it was over.

Gloria, was upper 70s today & starting to feel like summer... care to whine with me? I will admit that the heat isn't bothering as much as 20 years ago.

Amy, before I uncovered the trug this morning I noticed a little patch (maybe 1-2") of tiny toadstools or mushrooms, pretty, kind of lacy. Planned to take pics when I uncovered a little later but they had disappeared! All looks good. I Googled to make sure how to get the suckers off, I remembered Dad doing it but wasn't positive how/when.

My brain has gone to bed so I'd better post & shut up. Sweet dreams & God Bless...love y'all.
Shirley

good Morning everyone, well another sleepless Night for Me. see you all later this Morning.

Amy

Good morning..

Rained most of the night and is still sprinkling. Today is back to the lumber yard ,then home to work. Kyle is making a cover for one of the trugs for a man. Another man stopped in and may order one for his 89 yr old Mom seems they wouldn't let her garden last year and heard about it all winter.. :2funny:

Gloria, it is so good to see your posts and read that you are doing well. Yvette is a God send to you.

Callie, good to read you did not get the tornado or any damage from the hail. Can't imagine all the damage on the cars from the hail!

Patricia ,I don't mind the snakes, not that we have many here but sure hate the spiders.

Jane, not much wood to pile from the load and if it stops raining it will be done today. All my muscles are talking back to me including my eye lash muscles!!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper spent the night with us.  Frankie was just plain too tired to come get him when she finished work at 10.  He made himself at home and slept wherever he felt like it.  He started out on the little rug in the bathroom, moved to the bed where his "mother" sleeps when she's here and ended up on the recliner in the living room!

We've all had breakfast and the doggies had their walks and now we're in "relax" mode.

SHIRLEY, that must have been some storm and that lady was brave to drive that badly damaged car!

AMY, Christy managed some yard clean up in the garden area of my yard and said she'd be back on Mother's day to do some planting.  We're going to put in some tomato plants, a pepper bush and whatever else Christy decides I need.

I need to go get some housework done today.  The floors in particular need some attention.  I hope you all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Sorry I haven't been here for a few days.  No real excuse...just laziness, I think.  All is well.  I finally received the compression stockings that the vascular doctor said I need to wear.  I ordered them on-line because all of the ones that I saw in the local stores were so ugly.  If I HAVE to wear the darned things they might as well be attractive (!), if possible.  Anyway, they finally arrived and after learning the tricks of putting them on they actually do help my feet and legs feel better.

It's been hot here the last couple of days and it's getting very dry.  We had a fire warning yesterday because it has been several days since we've had any rain and it's been very windy.  They are asking people to not do any outdoor burning.  It is so easy to start a forest fire around here when it is this dry.

That is about as exciting as it has been so I'll just say I'll talk to you all again soon.

Good morning from a chilly Interior at 24 degrees with an expected high of 35. We didn't get the inch of snow they had on the ridges or lower foothills. However, we did get a dusting on the yards and not on the streets. Our light is back, it only starts to get dark at ten PM, and even that isn't a full dark. By mid-June and the summer solstice, we'll be back to 24/7 daylight. Then we start losing that light minute by minute until the winter solstice.

Callie, that four-inch hail caused 3.5 billion dollars worth of damage, I learned yesterday. I can not even imagine a storm like that, and the pictures shown reminded me of a war zone. I am so sorry!

Amy, I'm no expert on the South or government policies, but my ex's family has been on that small plot of land since Daniel Boone's days, they told me. And they have on-site, a small family graveyard with dates reaching that far back. I mention this because on their property, they are only allowed to harvest trees that have fallen.

Now, this was in the early seventies, that they would take a mule, go out with a chain saw, cut the fallen trees into manageable pieces, attached those pieces one at a time to the mule who would then drag them back to the houses. That's where they would be cut further for the three-family homes on the property. While this was being done, the women would be harvesting and putting by the crops. After the family harvested the food, the food was cooked in large kettles and cooled to be placed in sealed jars in the root cellars under the homes and with the root crops.

The three homes were his paternal grandmother's home where we stayed, a little further down the hill was his parents and his grandmother and across a road was his brother and family. Further down that country road lived Aunts, Uncles, and cousins of their extended family in their own hollers. This was about eighty miles north of Knoxville, Tennesee.

Jane, you must be looking forward to gardening with Christy! I remember the photos you showed from an earlier time. I used to garden on porches and balconies of past apartments, but here my balcony faces northwest and is recessed about four feet. Only shade crops will grow there. there are small available plots in front for tenents who bid early for one. However, sometimes those crops get up and walk away on their own.

Amy, I had that same thought this morning even tho it had been predicted. Luckily it melted, just like I hope yours does too!

JaneS

I should have gone to bed a couple of hours ago when my body told me it was time!  Not only have my eyes entered the slamshut stage but my body had gone into "Igiveup" stage!  I think I overdid the cleaning and moving furniture today and it's telling me "enough is enough".  I'm off to the haystack.

AMY and PATRICIA...please keep your snow up there.  We had cooler weather today made cold by high winds that didn't give up.  I hope tomorrow is more Springlike, everywhere.  Right now...I give up!  Good night!
