Marilyn, it is sad to think Keith's boys won't come down to visit him in CA. Although, if he gets to where he doesn't know them, I guess it doesn't make a difference. Hope they take a lot of stuff. I can't believe your neighbors filling up your dumpster! I'd leave a bill on their door for their % of it. Does Keith know what's going on at all? Hugs to you.

Jane, isn't it sad that people would rather take a govt. handout then work?! That sure isn't what this country used to be. I'm doing laundry too.

John and I just watched Braeden's commissioning ceremony. It was so nice to see Brian give him the oath and for Traecy and Sean to pin on his bars. Proud family moment. So neat that it was live streamed for those who couldn't go.

Nothing else going on here today. Have a nice day.  Hi to Darlene, Jeanne, Mary, Alpiner and whoever else pops in. Sharon

Hi [/Hi everyone..I'm trying again to get my font bold...I did push the B y'all said was on left......so will keep tryingcolor]

Tomereader1

Looks like you got it!

so_P_bubble

First: click B, then size 4, then the color you want.

Your cursor will go by itself to where the writing should start.

You only need to click on 'post' when you finished writing your message.

diglady

You can also type your message then highlight it  then go to bold and size

so_P_bubble

Diglady, but then you need to highlight for each... so more work!

An exciting morning - to the dentist for 6-month cleaning. I love the feeling after getting my teeth cleaned, so I never mind going for that. And I'm blessed with good teeth, so rarely have to go otherwise.

Happy Monday, Buddies!

Mary...yes on the clean teeth...once she'd done scraping around.

Ah....Monday again.  In the 60s at least and windy and "chance of rain" all week.   :coolsmiley:

I'm off to WalMart for a couple things and then home to probably do nothing but read...or see what's on the Hallmark mystery channel.

Exciting, right?   :crazy2:  :uglystupid2:  :idiot2:

in Windows 10.

If you have a mouse with a wheel on it you can enlarge things by holding the Ctrl key down and spinning the wheel either way to make things bigger or smaller.
If you do not have a mouse wheel, you can hold the Ctrl key down and tap the - or + on the right side of your keyboard, to make things bigger or smaller that way too.

Hi to Patricia and thanks for the link to a  game!

Tuesday morning rain and storms, potentially, the weather chart says.  So far, just rain.

Bad night here....didn't get to sleep for more than 30 minutes until 4:00 am.  The extended release tylenol for arthritis is just not working very well.

jane

Cottoncandy

Hope all are doing ok...can't seem to get the font bigger...so probably want post for awhile...stay safe and healthy

We just got home late yesterday from a trip by car to Oregon & Washington visiting family & friends .  At the hotels most of the breakfasts were pre-ordered bagged to pick up or someone served the food plated .  We visited one of our sons & family & experienced the Keto diet .  I ate very little & went back to our hotel room hungry .  Broccoli & spices do not agree with me . Probably lost a few pounds .

Marilyn

Darlene. Keep posting,  found a way to enlarge the text

jane

Alpiner....hmmm....sounds as if you're not going to be going Keto!   :2funny:   Me, either, I suspect.  I'm too old to eat food I don't like or doesn't agree with me.

Darlene....Keep posting.  People can use the tip So_P Bubble posted....hold down the Control key on your keyboard and use the scroll thingy on your mouse and move it forward to enlarge the print.  Easy Peasy.

Another day of muggy and maybe rain and storms.  I need to get out and get some groceries today or tomorrow for the weekend gang coming Friday night. My cleaning gal comes today...missed last visit two weeks ago because she was ill.  I've moved my necessities out of the bedroom I usually use with the king bed and into the guest room with a double, so Don and Patricia can have the big bed.  He's tall, like Ray was, so the extra space is needed.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Marilyn

I had to go to the chiropractor this morning, I've been lifting too many heavy things. Keith can't lift anything because of his hernia. The Dr said the abdominal wall is so thin that if it breaks or tears he will have 29 ft of intestines  some spilling out and he will die. So I am doing all the lifting but today I am taking it easy.

I got the inspectors report on the Arcata house, I think I am going to either ask the seller to repair a few things or take some off the  price since I bid 11K over the asking price.

jane

That seems to be the story in real estate everywhere...people having to bid over the asking price, but I'd sure do what you're thinking of...fix some things or lower the price.

Take care not to hurt your own back, Marilyn!

And it's Friday...again.   :2funny:   Here it's a hot and humid one, so the AC is on.

I got out to the other grocery store in town and they were busy as usual.  Masks here are not required anywhere, by our Governor's mandate, including schools, but individuals can as they choose, I guess.  I'm fully vaccinated, so feel comfortable without now, but I may go back to them if the flu season becomes bad this fall.

My WI-MN family are arriving tonight to do some spring chores for me tomorrow.  They'll head home Sunday as they all still work.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Hi Gals, I haven't posted for a while. I've been trying to walk more. Have walked to the dining room twice this week, about a half mile round trip. I also am taking Bunny a little farther at lunch, but my knees are giving me problems. I'm going to call the ortho in a few minutes and see if there is anything else they can do for them. I use Voltaren once or twice a day and an ice pack when they are really bad and of course ES Tylenol or Tramadol for pain, but hate having to do all that and still hurt.  I use my walker when I am outside walking. Other than that, a quiet week. I did do the video evaluation of my tremor for the doctor to evaluate. I'll hear from him next week hopefully.

Jane, Glad your cleaning girl came. So did mine. I will still wear my mask in the stores for a while I think. One never knows who is vaccinated and who isn't. Enjoy your family this weekend. Nice that they are coming to help with the spring chores.

Marilyn, I'd definitely ask them to fix up what needs to be done or lower the price. That's what the inspection is for. I'm sorry your back is causing you problems again. I was afraid of that with all the work you've been doing. Take care of yourself.

Darlene, just click on the big A with the red arrow on it. There will be a drop down list of #'s. Click on 3 or 4.  Also click on the big B at the beginning of the top line.  All this is above the reply box.

Alpiner, it is hard adapting to other diets when traveling. But I'm sure you had a pretty trip and enjoyed getting away.

Mary, where are you? Hope you're okay.

All for now, Sharon

maryz

Phooey - just lost my post. I keep hitting something on my laptop that makes things jump around and do things I don't plan.  I had a wrist support that kept me from doing that, but it got lost somewhere along the way. I have another one ordered - should be here on Sunday. Oh, well...

We're at the beginning of a heat wave here - temps predicted in the 90s for about a week, with record breakers also predicted. I've already got the a/c going.

Not much going on here until Memorial Day weekend. That's going to be Henry's 1st birthday party.

Happy weekend, Buddies!  Stay well.

Hi everyone....I have had a very busy week...2 of my 4 kids was here...they did a lot of fishing...I did lot of cooking..lol...enjoyed every minute of it....haven't read past post...hope everyone is well and happy...it's very warm here and chance of rain...have a great weekend....

maryz

Where is everybody?  I know jane had company over the weekend. Marilyn is getting stuff ready to move. I guess we're all just trying to avoid 90* temperatures.

Stay cool, Buddies!

I'm just testing to see if this font is big enough to read

jane

That font is perfect, Darlene!  Good job.  It sounds as if you had a great weekend, too.

Sharon...HURRAH for you on the walking.

Mary...yikes...your temp is almost as bad as ours...we're in the upper 80s and so humid.  Thank heavens for AC.

Donal, Patricia and the "boys" ....31 and 33...came and worked so hard all morning Saturday.  With 3 guys working and Patricia doing some painting around the doors, they were all busy little elves.  They took down the large greenhouse/shed Ray had in the back area behind his shop...and Donal took the frame home with him.  We got rid of everything in there and that's a relief.  Donal also took the snow blower, Sam the golf clubs and a gazillion golf balls, and all 3 took some of Ray's extensive book collection.  Some things they couldn't get in their truck and car, so Donal'll get those on their next trip.

The "boys" got up on the roof and cleaned out and unclogged the gutters;even though they have gutter guards, clogs happen.  So, I'm all set.  I also got my hanging baskets filled and up and the coral bells planted out front.

WHEW!  Sat. afternoon at 3:00 everybody was cleaned up and we went down the Pub on the river and ate on the deck overlooking the river.  Gary and Kathy, neighbors, joined us, and then we went across the street to the Brewery and then home for Mexican Train.  It was a wonderful day.  They all left Sunday for home as they all work today.

I'm up to my ears in laundry, but I loved having them.

I'm not wearing my mask out anymore.  I'm fully vaccinated and not on dialysis or chemo anymore.  I may again in the fall if the flu is bad.

Stay healthy, Babes!

jane

maryz

Good job, Darlene!

How great tOo get all that done, jane. And now you can rest for a while. I'm only wearing a mask when I'm around folks I don't know. And that doesn't happen to much any more.

Hi Gals, good to see all the posts. Mary we've been having 90+ temps the past 2 days too, but our humidity has been low till today. It is just starting to creep up. I wear a mask when I go in stores or where required, but that's all.

Jane, how wonderful to have family come down and do all that for you and also to take away more of Ray's things that they can use. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend and are all ready for summer!

Darlene, good work on the font. Sounds like you had a good time with the grands, etc. I used to love cooking for the big family when I could.

Yesterday, I went to the ortho and we decided he would do an arthroscopy of my right knee that is still bothering me so much, hopefully right after our trip to Brian's. Don't have a definite date yet. After the appt, I went to a shopping center with Home Goods and found a new pillow. None of mine were comfortable. Also went to Target and got a watering can that isn't humongous that I can use for my balcony flowers. My Kalanchoe that John got me at Valentines has been really growing since I put it on the balcony and now has new flower buds.

Today, we went to the PO this AM to finalize my passport application. I had it expedited so should have it in 4-6 weeks. Glad to have that taken care of. Have to go eat now and then bridge at 2:00.

Have a good day, everyone. Sharon

I had received an email from the jewelry store in Dubuque where I'd left a ring bought there for some repair work on the prongs.  I went in this morning since storms are forecast for this afternoon, and was delighted to learn that the $77 charge on the paper they gave me so show I'd left the ring was waived and it was all complementary! Whoo Hooo...I love that kind of service. The clerk said the repair and restoration wasn't as extensive as they'd first thought.  It looks beautiful.  I will buy all my "sparklies" there from now on.

I also went to Target...first time in well over a year....and found nothing I needed or wanted.  Guess my shopping styles have changed!  Came on home under dark clouds, stopped to mail a package of photos of my mother-in-law to Ray's sister we found while organizing this weekend, and decided to catch lunch at my favorite pub, did a quick grocery stop and home to continue the laundry.  And that's my exciting Tuesday morning!!

Hope all is going great with everyone.  Nobody here is mandated to wear a mask since Gov removed all restrictions last Super Bowl Sunday and the stores I'm in say 100% vaccinated don't need masks.   ;D

Stay safe!

Good Wed. morning....HUMP DAY for those still working.   8)

I did a tiny bit of weeding of spearmint plants that are out of control in my one flower bed.  They smell so good, but are so invasive.

I need to get to WalMart for a a couple things.

It's to be the best day of this weekend, weather wise. Tomorrow a cold front and rain are to descend on the area.

That's all the excitement in this corner of the world.

jane

I had a great day at bridge yesterday. The 2nd table I was at, we made 2 rubbers+ 1 game! Can't ever remember doing that well. Obviously had a great partner. Got my passport expedited yesterday morning, so it was a good day. Last night we found out that they are going to replace all the windows in the dining room starting today, so we will have delivered meals for 3 days till they are finished. They have big picture windows around 2 walls and several of them were cloudy and all old. Will be lovely when done.

Jane, how nice that the jeweler waived the charge on your ring! Is spearmint and mint the same thing? Any time I've planted mint, I've put it in a pot in the ground to keep it from overspreading. We hope to get a little rain tomorrow and begin to get some lower temps. 90 is just too high in May.

Nothing else going on here today or tomorrow, but get my hair cut Friday.
 Hi to all.  Sharon

maryz

I always had mint planted. It's definitely invasive, but it smelled SO good when John mowed it.
