Beautiful babies.  Beautifully knit outfits; they show so much expertise and loving care. I have never seen a bonnet knit into that pattern before.  Tons of work and gorgeous outcome.

BEAUTIFUL PICTURES.......
The twins in their knitted outfits look adorable.  Wyoming Grandma does wonderful work.  So sweet.

PATRICIA, thanks for the snow pictures.....we are getting snow in our mountains and maybe some here next week😩🤪 I am NOT ready for snow yet!

Your hibiscus is beautiful, DONKLIN.  I hope the next bud will pop soon.

Thank you ALL for sharing.

I keep coming in here but looks like I don't stop long enough to thank everyone for posting photos. Gorgeous babies, had a giggle with showing off Grammy's hat, Baby Beverly! Flowers all beautiful, not a year for flowers around here so grateful to y'all for sharing.

Looking closely at the babies, no mistake which is the girl or boy (even in pink), alike but for sure distinctive difference. Will be so fun to watch them grow.

Don, super sharp detail & color in that photo, mind telling what camera you used?

Thanks Jenny. Yesterday we again had snow, and today we have rain. We have frozen slush here. Rain and snow alternating for about a week, snow in the mountains, and foothills with this back and forth.

Don, if I think you and your iPhone make a good team, very sharp, beautiful Hibiscus!

Beverly, it must be gratifying that little Beverly and James are finally doing better, and their Wyoming grandmother is a knitting artist, lovely outfits!

Beverly

Thank you everyone for the comments on our twins. Their Wyoming grandmother is multi-talented. She's a full time nurse (retiring soon), has made several other outfits for the babies, does other crafts (such as making special soaps, etc,) and seems to have boundless energy! Grandpa is no slouch either.  :) (Daddy's parents) They have been in New England visiting the babies and other family.

Donklan - Is your hibiscus planted in the ground or in a pot? Does it survive your winters? I had one when we moved to Florida and before long it became a beautiful bush!

Patricia - Winter is coming early? Looks cold!

Beverly

Watching these babies grow from such a distance keeps me occupied. Forgive me for my obsession!  ;)

Shirley

She is such a cutie, Beverly. I do wish all these young mothers would take photos without the big head bands so we can see their darling little heads. My daughter had a full head of hair when she was born, even tho a couple months early. She still had "fur" on her back & down to her eye brows. The GI boys that took care of the babies (born in England GI hospital) had a spit curl with bow on top every time they brought her into the ward. She was born with black hair & black eyes. My sons didn't have all that hair & was much lighter, but we didn't take photos of any of them at birth! I'm enjoying watching your twins grow as well. She sure has cute ears!

Beverly

Shirley - The bows are very popular these days. My grandchildren didn't have the bows, but my first grand had a mop of black hair! Most of the others were born nearly bald. Funny thing is, the one with all the hair now has thin hair and some of the others have very thick hair. The twins have very little hair.

Oh, those ears!  :) My youngest daughter was born with ears like that.

Beverly

This one is for you Shirley! Then I promise no more for awhile.  :) (They sleep a lot!)

Vanilla-Jackie

Ah Beverley...i guess sleeping a lot is better than crying a lot.. ;) now don't you just want to hug them..

Patricia, loved seeing the snow.  My husband was very happy to leave Maryland and the snow and cold weather, but I always enjoyed watching the snow falling and everything looking so pure and clean for a few days.

Beverly, what precious photos.  I used to crochet baby sets and sell them in the consignment shop.  Then I got an iPad and that was the end of my crocheting days. :)

Don, your hibiscus was an unusual color—-very pretty.

MaryPage

Those are my sentiments, as well Jean.  I have always felt an emotional tie to the 4 seasons.  Having lived mainly in this area for most of my life, I can tell you our winters are now a pale imitation of what we used to have.

Baby Beverly is going to be a great beauty. She will probably also be the boss of the twin squad; mebbe the entire family.  And yes, Spellcheck; I know I misspelled maybe.  I happen to LIKE my way of spelling it.

Shirley

Aw, Beverly, isn't that the sweetest face & head, wanna kiss it, don't you??? What is the monitor?  My oldest son was in the Isolette for 10 days, was 60 years ago. When he got out he had no more monitors. I went home the day after he was born, he was so pitiful looking because they had him tilted with head down (cord was around his neck & lungs didn't inflate), I couldn't handle watching him struggle to breathe.

The doctor came in that 2nd day and told me he "could be blind, deaf or mentally retarded (his words) because a ward nurse had taken him out of the Isolette to feed him & they had to up his oxygen so much there was a danger." We went through times of thinking he couldn't hear, never ate more than an ounce of formula at a time, constantly sick & had croup/congestion all the time. By the time he was two we realized he was just a quiet little boy, didn't get upset with things and absolutely nothing wrong with him. It has never left my mind that I had hardened my heart thinking we might have to put him into an institution when he got older. 60 years ago we didn't have all the help out there as now.

Every time I see a baby in need I remind myself that anything is possible and only by "the grace of God" that baby of ours has the most brilliant mind and kindest heart of any human I know. I will keep praying that the twins are healthy, mind & body, and I will love watching them grow.

My mind has gone back to those early days & almost hold my breath at the daily fears. My husband just graduated from college, working in another city 100 miles away & being transferred even farther away so life was totally up in the air. Our 5 year old daughter had been excited about a new baby brother until she had to share HER room with him & packed her Barbie Doll case to move to her friend's house "because that baby cries all the time".

That was the first week & he did get a bottle about every hour for some months. I was so tired after the move I caught myself burping him backwards one night. Seriously, I was patting his back & moved my hand on up to the head & found his face instead of back of head! Our daughter was so homesick my mother came to take her back for a week to show her they were all still there. She didn't want to come back so we bought her a new bike to bribe her.

My heart goes out to the babys mother and so happy that she was able to stay with them in the hospital. We didn't have choices in the old days, only allowed to go sit by the Isolette a few minutes so I went home. My husband had to return to work before the baby came home, transferred to Western Kansas & we moved a couple weeks later. A difficult year but a joy 60 years later.

Beverly

Oh, Shirley! What a difficult time you had, and to do it alone with your husband miles away! So glad that everything turned out okay. My son is also 60. Did your little girl grow up to be friends with him?  :)

The wires were monitors for heart and lungs. After much coaxing and re-assurance from my granddaughter that she could handle things, they were discharged yesterday. Beverly has to eat small amounts at a time and often. Doctors think it's a preemie thing and will correct itself.

Jackie - Most people I know from the UK spell my name "Beverley", which it IS on my birth certificate. Somehow my family dropped the extra "e" during my first few years.

Mary Page - Thank you for your comments and compliments! "Mebbe" you are right!  :)

Jean - I love Vermont but the winters can be brutal. The bone chilling cold, icy roads, and snow shoveling ceased to be fun! I wish I could be there now because the foliage is beautiful.

...Day or two after my daughter was born ( 1969 ) she contracted conjunctivas, both eyes swollen, closed with scabby puss, i had no clue and asked if she was going to be blind, ( baring in mind i was just 18 ) good heavens no was her response as we were both ushered up into isolation ward..

Some things were better, some things were not nearly as good as they are now.  In the days when we were young.  I found so many doctors very convinced of their own superiority, and we "little ladies" were such ignorant creatures.  It was a huge relief to me when finally a dear friend's brother finished all his schooling and training and went into general practice.  He took care of us all, and we all adored him.  When the girls had the measles, he made house calls, which included putting the quarantine sign on our front door and having pretend tea parties in the darkened bedroom the girls had to live in for however long it was; I forget.

Shirley, I shudder to think what you went through.  I am flooded with joy to think how it all turned out so happily ever after.  There were a lot more problems with the umbilical cord then than I hear of now.  Perhaps the sonograms allow doctors to fix things they see are wrong?  My very first child was a little boy who was very active in the womb, and then he got quiet.  My regular doctor's appointment found the doctor listening (not my friend's brother, but one of the know-it-alls) much harder than usual.  Then I was told the baby was dead, but I had to carry it until I went into labor.  More than two weeks went by before I finally did.  About a week later, I came down with a terrible infection from the dead baby I'd carried those weeks.  That nearly killed me.  I don't believe they do things that way any more, but honestly I don't know.  It was a sad, sad time for me, but eventually I had more children under my rood than I knew what to do with, which was a blessing.  Looking back, I know I was one of the lucky ones.

Shirley

Mary Page, when we lived in a small town, won't say which state, the doctor I had for a while had a house full of kids, his wife carried one for quite some time that was dead, like yours, but he ran off with his nurse right after that baby was born. Horrible little town of doctors & dentists that had no morals at all. I can't imagine knowing my baby was dead. I knew mine wasn't flipping around like earlier, but still did a lot of kicking. His one ear had a crease in it but went away on it's own. The cord was so short they had to cut it to get him all the way out. No sonograms or peeks into their early life back when my babies were born. We could write a book, huh?

Mom's doctor that delivered all 5 of us kids at home, also stopped by on his way to the hospital to check on me when I was 2 & had pneumonia, whooping cough, measles at the same time & ended with a drain hanging out of my lung for a couple months. The tissue is still tied into my lung from the scar on the outside so any time I've gained a few pounds that pulls through the ribs.

Beverly, I guess my little baby knew what he needed to do with drinking an ounce or two of formula at a time, but I think if he had been born first I might have feared having another! I never needed a lot of sleep but hardly an hour day & night that I wasn't trying to feed him.

MaryPage

There is no doubt at all, Shirley, that the mothering you gave him saved his whole being and rewarded you with the amazing person who is your grown son today.

Shirley

Mary Page, I started a message to you & my computer did an update, had all 3 of my kids call & my post didn't get posted.  Wanted to tell you that I can't take any of the credit for my son being the way he is. A few years ago I saw a young man that looked so much like my son I really did a double take looking at him, and as he turned to face me he had a blank stare in his eyes. I was so shocked I almost cried as I thought, "There but for the grace of God could be Andy". It was one of those moments that goes right into the heart. But we never quit worrying about our babies, even when they are in their 50s & 60s, do we.

Past my bedtime & still have 3 cats to give their midnight snack. Sweet dreams to all...

MaryPage

No, we never do, Shirley. We never, ever do.
