Good Morning everyone, AMY I read your post and it brought back a moray of years ago when I I was driving my truck over the road. I was driving up in Iowa, in a heavy fog. and a car came passing and into my Lane would been a head on except I swerved hard right on to the shoulder. He turned around and came up behind Me with his lights shining on bright In my merrows, I pulled it into a truck stop next and pulled around back. he got out and ran right up to me and said I sure want to thank you for your good driving. you could have killed my whole family. god closed my mouth and I said you are welcome. It Is 26º here this morning and clear here today. AMW would you re Post the recipe I think you posted about the nut shell pie crust. Have a good day everyone.

It rained overnight but it is bright and sunny this morning....and chilly.

Nice story about your experience on the road, Lloyd. Could have ended so differently.

I know Jane is glad to be home but it will be slow going for her for awhile.  Thinking of her and wishing her well.

Yesterday was nice and I ate too much.

Take care, All.

Good morning, minus eight and quiet this morning. I overate yesterday and spent most of the evening on the phone.
In the afternoon, it started warming up, and the barometric pressure changes left my head aching. So I spent the evening in bed with my Kindle and some Tylenol. The rest of November and December weather will be similar ups and downs.

I agree about drivers, especially in these arctic weather conditions. People speed and weave in and out of traffic even when the ice fog is so back that response time is rare.

JaneS

I was going to say "Good Morning" but I noticed that it's already afternoon where I am.  So whatever it is where you are, have a good one!  I'm feeling better every day and I wish the best for all of you and all of those you love!

I've had visits from a nurse and a therapist already.  This hospital and my plan really do take care of their patients!

I'll try to be back later!  I wish you all a good day!

A good day after Thanksgiving Greeting to EVERYFRIEND 🦃

I sure smiled as I read your post JANE😘. So good to have you back in the fold.  Continued thoughts and prayers for you as you get stronger every day🥰

PHYLLIS, a bit of a tear in my eyes as I read about your neighbor delivering a full ham meal for you and David for your Thanksgiving meal.  How thoughtful🙏

SHIRLEY, my condolences to your grandsons family.  I understand the stressful time when a loved one is the late stage of passing.  So hard the family🙏🙏. I love reading about your food you are fixing for the family meals‼️  I would love your noodles and gravy over my mashed potatoes 😘

GLORIA, your Turkey Day card was very enjoyable....Thank you🥰

AMY, what fun to go to Costco with a friend to buy the needed supplies to get you through the winter‼️ I often wish we had someone to share the large containers you have to buy as we just do not have that much storage.

I hope you all had as happy and enjoyable Thanksgiving Day as we did. We joined our son, DIL and Jonah at DIL's parents home.  They prepared the most delicious traditional Thanksgiving Dinner.  It was wonderful.  We are so blessed to have been included🦃. We had to drive 40 minutes south to their beautiful home.  Her mother decorated their home to the nth degree. Big beautiful tree....just lovely. 🌲

The only problem with being the guests is NO leftovers😩. There were 8 adults and three little ones, so we pretty much ate most of the food, so not much to share🤪🤪

My typing arm is so painful I can barely type, so I am sorry I have not been posting.  I have taken three breaks to get this done so forgive me if I did not comment to all.

Enjoy this beautiful day and prayers for all who are in need.

Good chilly morning..

Fur lined geemogootchies today starting out at 15° but I bet Patricia's temp is colder.

Better finish today what I put off yesterday. We went and had a visit with hubby's sister and then home to make Haluski.

Today is a good day to hug the fire.

Jenny, you sure are having a time of it with your shoulders. Hope they soon give you some much needed relief.

Phyllis, the Haluski is made in the IP.....takes all of 5-7 min. Take you longer to chop and put all the ingredients today but it is tasty. Sounds like your dinner was also!

Patricia, the past 2 years drivers have lot their patience it seems. Not paying attention to road signs or speed limit.

Lloyd, that was good defensive driving on your part.

Gloria, where are you??? Hope your computer didn't crash!

Jane, hope you are sleeping well at night and each day fines you a little big stronger ....you know the saying. ..one day at a time..

Better mosey on and get the day started here.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Shirley

I'm up, cats & me fed. Cats all back asleep and I'm tempted......Didn't get quite 5 hours sleep and my good intentions of scooping up more leaves kinda faded. It is above freezing but there is something about sleeping cats that is so relaxing. Besides, it is still dark out. Talked myself into a few more zzzzzzzzzzzs. Do we have everyone accounted for finally?  YES!  Talk later....

Lloyd Hammond

Good morning  Shirley and all that fallow. It is 26º here this morning @ 8:06 AM. sun is shining bright here. I got 8.5 hours of sleep. Nancy has a coyer for me stapling the cable for the TV cord that fell down back up. we had it taped up. then I am going to hull some more black walnuts. and scrape the meat side of the dear skin we
have soaking in the tannin salution. Have a great day.

Good to see you here, Jenny.  Sounds like a nice Tksgvg.  I'm sorry about your shoulder.  I was hoping it had improved by now.

Amy, what is Haluski?  New one on me.

Shirley,  I slept better than you did but I can't get awake.  I'd like to go back to bed, too.  Lots of leaves here, also, and we are trying to ignore them because it has been too windy to blow them up.

Wondering about Gloria, too.  Hope she is just recovering from dinner with the kids and not sick or having another computer crash.

Glad you are feeling up to looking in, Jane.

It's bright and sunny here but brrrr cold so I don't plan to step outside the door.

Good morning, Lloyd.  You sure have a lot of walnuts.

Take care, All

Good Morning Everyfriend!  My Thanksgiving dinner came through a tube and I can't wait until that is gone.  My daughter, Christy and I make up meals to take the place of the gunk in the tube.  I have an checkup appointment with the Dr who did the surgery on Tuesday and the feeding tube may be removed at that time.  I have mixed thoughts about that because I'm not sure what I'll have to eat.  But it's progress!

I hope Jenny's shoulder decides to behave and give her some relief.  It's no fun when you can't do stuff.  And I speak from experience.

I wish you all a good day!  Make it your own in every way!

Phyllis, the recipe is in Whats For Dinner  #520.  I added salami to ours yesterday but I think you can add just about anything to it.

Jane, hope you can get rid of that tube on Tue!!!

Good Morning,

Janie, I also hope that feeding tube will be gone on Tuesday.  This may sound  :crazy2:  but jars of "spiced up" baby food might be something to consider for "sustenance" until you can have the real thing.

The HOA lawn crew is supposed to take care of our leaves but it's either been too wet or too windy for them to have done so yet.  My patio and back yard are really needing attention.  I could probably manage to sweep and bag the ones on the patio but the ones in the yard would just replace them.

I enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner, "catered" by Stouffer, Bird's Eye, Sister Schubert and Jello  ;D, while watching the entire Macy's Thanksgiving parade.  Don't think I'd ever watched the whole thing because I was usually in the kitchen.

Didn't mean to sound earlier as if I don't like being with dils' families.  Hubby and I became good friends with #1 dil's parents after son/dil married.  Thanksgiving was always at her mom's house and we were always invited. I continued doing so for quite a few years after he died. They're a big bunch and always lots of fun.  I took Southern cornbread dressing and that chocolate/cream cheese/Cool Whip pie to the first one we went to and those became my "permanent assignment".

#2 son married several years after his Dad was gone so I alternated - which was sometimes a challenge because both dils are from the same small town about 35 miles from here. Families know each other but don't move in the same circles, so to speak.
Timing got a bit awkward so when my church and others began having a Community Dinner, I volunteered and really had a good time. Was surprised to find how many people I knew came to that instead of having dinner at home and always enjoyed seeing them.  The event grew until it's now held in the local college's ballroom.

Then #2 son/dil began hosting her small family at their house and I again alternated. Covid interrupted that last year and, this year, I found I simply didn't want to make the effort.  Next year may be different.

Time to take down the Thanksgiving decorations - and get ready to watch the Bedlam football game between the two major universities. Both teams are "ranked" and it should be a good game.  I think I've said that I'm a second generation OU Sooner and All My Children are OSU Cowboys. Their team has a good chance at winning this one - but I'm not going to tell them.  :-X

Good morning, minus fifteen and a projection for going even lower and the coming week with no snow expected. Last year we made records for the earliest and most snowfall, and this year we're making one for the least amount of snowfall. 21/22 snowfall is 39% lower than the historical average this far into the winter, according to reports. And another wind chill, "Cold Wind Chill at Higher Elevations through the Weekend...

Wind Chill temperatures will fall to around 50 below at times above treeline in the White Mountains and along the Steese, Elliott, and Dalton Highways through the weekend.

Winds will increase to 10 to 20 mph at higher elevations and combine with temperatures of 15 to 25 below to produce the cold Wind Chill temperatures this weekend.

Locally blowing and drifting snow may reduce visibility at times, impacting travel through the area this weekend."

I'm sorry for all those going to school and to work as I remember those days well.

LEAVES, LEAVES, LEAVES.
Now lets just break that down, and start with a basic unit --- singular of LEAVES should be LEAVE.  Think about that - LEAVE.  I think that's what I'll do, LEAVE each singular one.

I live at the top of the hill and actually have no more trees that drop leaves. But our complaining neighbor who didn't like our tree dropping acorns (when we had that tree) has a huge oak tree that blow this way.  So I will LEAVE the LEAVES and let nature blow them away, likely down hill. They might not like that I do that but I have no trees and it's their leaves.
So they should LEAVE me alone about the LEAVES

I'll go take a nap.

Lloyd, I'm from Alaska in the Interior, the largest part of the state. Both of my parents relocated here after WWII in 1946, met, and married here. Interestingly, my father was one of sixteen kids from Joplin, Missouri, and everyone before him were farmers going back to the sixteen hundreds.  My father retired after fifty years with the City Department of Public Works, beginning as a welder and ending up as Dept. Head. Other than my father, his brother Kermit who moved to Washington to start a walnut orchard, everyone else remained in or near Joplin.

I'd as leaf leave this subject alone!

Just wanted to pop in to say a brief Nighty Nite to Everyfriend!  I read all the posts and it sounds like all of you did exactly as you pleased for Thanksgiving.

Callie, this is the first year in "I don't know how long" that I got to see the entire Thanksgiving Day Parade.  I guess you could say it was one of the good things about recovery.

I had a bunch of company the last couple days.  My granddaughter and husband were home from Texas and my grandson and his sweetheart were also home.  They all came to visit me.  And my son has come every day since I came home from the hospital.  I love the crowds but I'm really tired tonight.

I wish you all sweet dreams and may God bless us, every one!

Good morning...

Another chilly one with temp at 9° F .  Yesterday turned out nice and line full of laundry blew out nice! Freeze dried first then dried :) Neighbour wanted some papers printed and we took those over to her. Her husband met me a the door and when papers handed to him he said ,I can't eat those!!This is the couple I take hot home made bread to. So when I got a moment at home I made them a cherry pie and we will take that over along with fresh whipped cream. In the summer she had way too many cucumbers and zucchini so she gave them to me.

Need to take the wood ashes to the dump and I do think the rest of the day I can play in the sewing room.

Jane, so good to come in here and see your post. You have a wonderful family to look after you!! Talked with David last night and he was in PA somewhere and said it was snowing!! Told him he should leave it there and not bring any home.

Gloria, did your computer mouse die? Hope you can soon post and let us know how you are..

Patricia ,bet you are a lot colder there.Once we get snow it won't seem so cold here.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We had snow overnight!  It's not laying on the roads and walkways but everything else is white!  Probably an inch or so...just enough for coverage and to hang on the trees.  Very pretty out the window!
