Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Minus 21 here...it's warmed up 20 degrees!

So, you're right; I am jealous, Bubble!

I've never been to a desert. I've been through one, straight through on a highway, that is.

Amazing photos, Bubble! You also have an amazing family!

I love the desert photos and I sure wish I was there now!  I don't think I've been warm for a month!  And it sure is beautiful there!

While waiting for Kyle I got to watch David tackle Goliath. The machine (David) was trying its best  to clear up the snow (Goliath)thumbnail (2).jpg a wee bit more snow...jpgthumbnail (2).jpgTis Winter Time.jpg

That to me Amy, is an amazing sight! You have such short winters and so much humidity and snow that I don't know how you do it! I haven't seen that much snow, even in Anchorage, which has a wet climate!

We've warmed up to two degrees and expect no more snow.

Buffalo in New York has had 50 deaths discovered in their snowstorm.

Byzantine floor mosaic, Gaza, Palestine

A farmer accidentally uncovered an intact Byzantine floor mosaic after trying to plant new trees in his Gaza orchard. The discovery happened six months ago when Salman al-Nabahin and his son Ahmad tried to figure out why the olive trees weren't taking root.
While digging, Ahmad's axe hit something hard, and the pair realized it was an ornate mosaic, said to date from the fifth to the seventh century AD, depicting birds and other animals. The Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said: "The archaeological discovery is still in its early stages and we await to know more of the secrets and civilization values."

MarsGal

Very well preserved. Amazing!

Shirley

OH! MY! I am in awe of that mosaic and the thought of what skill it took to create with the limited tools of so long ago!  I also marvel that the young people seem to be constantly shown what history is all around them. I thoroughly enjoy the world you live in, Bubble, the way YOU show it to us! It is all of our history, the beginning of time in my mind. (I do have a simple mind, you know.  ;)

Amy, while I do love snow I am sure that much would have terrified me. Gonna leave one big puddle when it melts. Was it as heavy & wet as it looks?  Take care, that is overwhelming!

How is that olive farmer doing.  I'm sure he's being restricted in what he can do now.

Bubble, Rick meant the olive farmer and his son who discovered the mosaic.

Bubble, the photos were amazing and interesting to those so far away from the ancient lands. I agree with Amy, Joanne, and Shirley!

JaneS

What an amazing discovery.  I, too, am wondering what the farmer is doing.  I'm sure he has been restricted in his digging and planting!

Eitan is in Bangkok right now, escaping the bad weather in UK. He visited  some famous monasteries and shared these pictures.  The reclining buddha  covers  the whole length of the building and is gold plated. Inside there is another huge reclining statue with the feet soles engraved.

Bubble - What amazing photos! I was never a soccer fan but remember Pele well. A great sportsman!

My year old poinsettia. I left it in the pot last year and thought it had died. I tucked it behind the Chinese fan palm and it thrived!

Amy

Jane and Rick, I'm sure that farmer was well compensated!

Bubble, be sure to thank Eitan for taking you and us along on his journies!

Beverly sometimes plants like people need a little neglect to bloom.

Gorgeous poinsettia.  I had one a couple years ago, and it died.

MarsGal

What a beauty. I could never get them to thrive, and Christmas cactus were a disaster too.

so_P_bubble

What a glorious plant. Here I have only seen in in gardens. I had one in my previous house yard and it was a tree!

Beverly

Bubble - This one would like to be a tree! It has some heavy wood stalks with branches at the base.

Thank you for these cute photos, Bev!

Beverly

Hopefully, they will visit me on the 24th. I haven't seen them for a year!

Oh, Bev, I would hate that, but I understand, as I live 4000 miles from the rest of my family, and I have a thirty-year-old niece I haven't seen since she was four!

It is hard to have feelings for those you have no connection with, so you are so lucky in this case. Will Keani also be there on the 24th?

Beverly

Patricia - Yes. Keani will be here too. I have a portal that lets me see and talk to all of them face to face and watch them in action! Also, the Moms send me frequent videos  on my cell phone so I get to see some of their cutest moments. Technology has come such a long way!
