Good morning...Happy Mothers Day to all Mamas ...havea question...have any of you had to deal with psoriasis..a skin problem....A new problem I'm dealing with...and have been to Dermotologist....ugh....have a blessed Sunday

patricia19

Good morning CC. I have had reoccurring bouts of psoriasis in dry winter periods and once as part of a hives-stressed skin reaction.

I used a Gold Bond Multiple System cremes on affected areas.

Cottoncandy

Thank you Patrica...will see if I can find it at walmart

Happy Mother's Day to all our Mothers!

We have a rainy, windy day here.  I'm doing laundry and hope to finish that soon.

Luckily the clothes I bought before I had ballooned while on prednisone,
Now fit since I lost those 25 pounds.

Patricia, I, too, got rid  of my work clothes and have only a few thinks for weddings and funerals.

Stay safe and healthy,

Jane

jane

Good Monday morning.  It's a chilly morning here, so had to dig out some jeans and a sweater for a trip to the hospital lab.

That's all on my schedule for today besides putting away some things that seem to have escaped their drawer.

Stay safe and healthy,

Jane

Good morning, the trees and bushes have finally greened up locally, but we're still cool with daily highs in the low seventies. This region has some low-lying flooding and high waters due to late breakups and ice jamming on its way downstream.

I haven't been outside in several days, and not going today as it's very windy.

jane

I hope everyBuddy is enjoying some spring weather and able to get out.

We've had some lovely days.  Nothing new here...more doc appts coming up, it looks like :-\

Take care and stay healthy,

jane

patricia19

I received my preliminary appointment per my cataract and floater removal surgery on July fifth. The way it's heading, my surgery date will probably be in the early fall. Everyone seems to be doing eye work right now.

I am very fond of Appleseed's catalog.  Now that I do not shop at all, I am compelled to use the catalogs, but Appleseed's is one I have never had a moment's disappointment with and I do not shrink from telling you so.  They tell you precisely what type of material they are using, and I have found them to be truthful about this.  I will try to remember the names of other catalogs I like, just as soon as I can make their names pop up in my mind.

jane

Morning, Buddies.

Patricia....good to have a tentative date, anyway

MaryPage...I've been pleased with things I've gotten from Appleseed's too.

Hope everyone is healthy and safe.

COLD morning here....and yet to get to 81.  What an up and down.

jane

patricia19

MaryPage and Jane, I had never heard of Appleseed's and will look it up.

MaryPage

One thing I love is that they carry the size I need and another is that they carry a lot of 100% cotton.
I tend to be allergic to most synthetics.

MaryPage

VERMONT COUNTRY STORE is another one I love.  I think that is where I buy my nightgowns.
Everything they carry is of value and durability.

MaryPage

Yes, I checked.  I buy all of my nightgowns there, mostly Lanz.

And their food goodies are marvelous!  As I see them, everything is Top Notch!

maryz

I've been buying clothes from Woman Within - a catalog of larger sizes. Good stuff at a good price, with good fit.  However, I've lost so much weight lately, I may start looking at other catalogs - new territory for me.  I'll give Appleseeds a look.

Also another new thing - I did my own INR test this morning. The powers that be (Medicare?) have just okayed doing that, rather than having home health or an office visit for it. I worried about it all night long, but kept telling myself, "Self, people have been doing their own glucose testing for diabetes for years.  You can do this!"  But still I was pleased that I got results on the first try this morning. Hope I do as well the next time - at least it's only every two weeks.

Hugs to all the Buddies!

Mary, pat yourself on the back. I spend more time worrying than I do getting something done!

SharonE

Hi Gals. I hope you are having a nice memorial day. Ours is very quiet. I had a busy Sat & Sun. Laundry and bridge on Sat, church, proofing meeting and corrections of the June issue. It's now ready to be printed.

I don't know if I mentioned that I planted all my planters on the balcony and then bought a hummer feeder that would stick to the sliding glass door. The hummers found it right away but stopped coming after 2 days. We went out to investigate and discovered it was crawling with ants! No way to prevent them, so took it  down and bought another that I could hang. Also bought an ant killer/repeller to put between the chain AND feeder. That solved the ant problem and the hummers are keeping it busy, but when I fill it and turn it over to hang, the sugar water just pours out the holes. All that stays in is in the base, so now I'm going to have to return that and find another one. What an aggravation! But I love my hummers.

No other real news here. I had my mamm a week or so ago and all was fine.

Mary good for you on your self-test.  I have to give myself a cholesterol shot in the stomach every 2 weeks and was really leery of doing it, but no problem.

Lots of rain here Sat and Sun. Still cloudy today. Temps dropped to 52 Sat, but back in the high 60's today. Still pretty cold for us in May. Supposed to be up in the 80's again this weekend.

Hope you are all well. No changes here. Knees give me fits in cold damp weather, but nothing I can do.

No dinner served here tonight because of holiday, so I'm going to make spaghetti for dinner.

Stay safe and wELL. Sharon/color]

maryz

Good to hear from you, Sharon.  It's been really quiet in here lately.  The only way I could keep the ants out of my hanging hummer feeders was to coat the vertical pole with Vaseline.  It's been in the 70s the last few days, but it's going into the 80s, and around 90 by the weekend.  Definitely turning into summer.

My third-for-May great-grandbaby arrived on Thursday afternoon. Austin, weight 6'3", was our IVF baby, and spent a couple of days in the NICU, but he's doing fine now and is at home with thrilled parents and grandparents.  So far, that's all the babies on line for this family - at least that I know of.

Nothing else exciting going on. I will be going to Henry's 3rd birthday party on Saturday. It's at Margaret's house, so not out of my comfort zone.

I hope everybody's been well, and getting ready for summer.

Good morning...where has the time gone...already almost June...we have had some good rain showers...every thing pretty and green and rivers flowing better...I was drinking my early morning coffee yesterday as I watched my neighbor across the street mowing grass...all of a sudden he started running up and down the road slapping his cap against his head and shoulders...finally made it to his truck...he apparently mowed into a big bee hive...glad he was OK...BUT don't think you can outrun bees.....hope everyone has a great day doing what you enjoy most

patricia19

Good morning, another gray, foggy, sullen day with more high waters, some flooding, and lots of erosion, trees, and other items in the rivers. At least all the extra green pops against all that gray.

jane

Good last day of May.  I was brought home from N. Wisc on Monday and glad to be home.  4 dogs, 2 of which are barkers, and a 3 yr old and 6 adult, plus me was enough excitement.

Patricia went with me to the cystoscopy{?} Looking into my bladder with a camera.  Things there that shouldn't be, so will have surgery on June 15 to get rid of them.  I suspect it's cancer, and am prepared to deal with that, I think.  What choice is there? I do like my urologist/surgeon.

I'm glad to be home.  Had my pre-op chest xray and EKG and ok'd for surgery.  This next week I go down to CR for some CT Scan they can't do here.  It's going to be an interesting summer.

Take care....VERY HOT here   90s.  Too hot for this time of year here.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, jane, and of course, we wish for the best.
 Keep us posted.

Happy Wednesday, Buddies!

Thanks, Mary.

It's still hot here and no rain, so I set up my sprinkles for several hours.  I hope we get some rain soon.

My AC guy was back.  My two that connect to the same outdoor thing had a loose whatever that needed tightening.  Glad it was an easy fix.

So sorry to see now wild fires in Nova Scotia.  Such a beautiful place.

Take care!

Jane

Darlene....I saw the horrific flooding in parts of Texas. The news I get only says "Texas"...so I have no idea if it's near you.  I sure hope not.

We had some rain late yesterday afternoon, but I hope there's more today....NOT like the Texas kind, though.

Stay cool and safe, Buddies!

jane

patricia19

The good news is that the fires are out. The bad news is that the rains have returned. And the even worse news is that besides breaking the record for the coldest June weather so far, we had snow last night in the foothills; we did get some frost at 1500 feet and possibly an inch above two thousand feet.

Personally, I'm waiting for the locusts.

Cottoncandy

Good morning Buddies....it's a nice 65 degrees this morning...great for walking...Jane sorry to hear you are having health issues...and praying it is not cancer...we had a lot of rain but I flooding near me...not much new going on with me I am planning a trip later this month to visit my 2 sons...if God permits.....have a great day and week

patricia19

Good morning, to CC and all who follow, its fifty-five and sunny outside which is a relief and nice to see. The high will be seventy-four, which will feel amazing after our past weeks of poor weather.

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear of your medical issues and I'll be thinking about you on the 15th, holding good thoughts that all will be well and not a further issue.

SharonE

Jane, ditto what Patricia said. Praying it's not cancer, but that if it is they found it early. Sending hugs too.

Patricia, glad your temps are up. I pray that you don't get locusts too!

Darlene, glad your temps are good and no floods near you. Have a wonderful trip to see your boys. Where are they?

Mary, congrats on the latest great grand! That makes 4, doesn't it? I have 5 at this moment, but expect more eventually.

John's optic nerve is down to 1/4 now, so it doesn't look good for the future. Just hope it stays stable a while longer.

I'm same as always. All the temp and baroMETER changes have had my knees and back kicking up a fuss, but that's not new.

Melanie got some encouraging news from her CT scan last week. One  part of the tumor is  50% reduced and another part 30%. They have to see an ortho oncologist this week to see if it is safe to give her 5 more radiation treatments as it could harm the head of the femur. She continues on the oral chemo for now. She feels pretty well, just tired. She is still playing pickle ball a few times a week, but can't run around the court.

I put up a new hummer feeder yesterday. I had 3 visitors last night, but have seen none today, although they could have come when I wasn't looking.

That's about all the news here.  Take care everyone and Jane, keep us posted on your status.

Sharon

maryz

Sharon, I have 5 great-grands now - the two 3-year-old boys, and the three born in May. Obviously, mine are coming in bunches.  ;D

Sorry to hear about John's vision. I hope it doesn't interfere with his bridge-playing yet. And it sounds like fairly good news about Melanie.

Patricia and Darlene sound like they're having some good spring weather.  Hot here again today and tomorrow, but due to "cool off" down in the seasonable mid80s on Thursday.

Happy Tuesday, Buddies!
