Polls are popular right now.  Let's take an Everyfriend Poll.

June Drabek

After Church I had a big lunch, so came home, put on leisure clothing and had a nice long nap. Haven't done a single worth while thing today. Did take one walk in the hall ways, but the sleep mode is calling me again.

Bis, I read on Google News that Florida was expecting a storm, but they said the West Coast, so hopefully your area will be safe.

Well, Callie, there's one "no comment".

T,D,and H.  Got it! Did  take me some time to figure that out.  ;)

June Drabek

Junee,  I have no idea of what T D and H means. I'm really out of it today. I guess my brain is fogged in. You are just facing a new day, am I right ? And I am just ready to brush my teeth and go to bed. And the computer erases all the time difference between the two of us. I think that is a real gift. Have a perfect day dear friend, and I will have a good sleep.

To all our friends here in the states, I wish you a peaceful night, and a happy, health filled tomorrow. God Bless you all. Prayers, Love and Hugs are coming your way.And your way too Junee.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

MOLLY, Extra strong prayers for David as he travels to his new assignment in Korea, and for his family and you.  Prayers for safe travels for Mohamed.  I know you are so ready for him to get home to you.

CHUCKLES

Guide Dog

A man was walking through the grounds of a university one morning when he noticed a young blind woman struggling with her Guide-Dog. The animal was resolutely pulling in one direction, she in another.

When he offered assistance, the woman replied, "No thanks, this is a family argument. The dog knows I'm supposed to go to a lecture right now -- but I want to miss it."

Food For Thought
Free Pass

Scripture Reading: Luke 6:1-5
Author Unknown

Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”  Luke 6:2
Let’s picture the scene. Jesus is walking through fields with his disciples on the Sabbath. They’re hungry, so they grab a few heads of wheat, rub them together and enjoy the seeds of nourishment. Some Pharisees nearby see their actions and immediately pass judgment.
Jesus turns to face his accusers. He recounts a story from the Hebrew scrolls that would be familiar to any Jew, especially the “religion police.” David was on the run from a demented King Saul. With his life on the line, he needed safety and food. David found help from Ahimelek the priest, who gave him permission to eat the consecrated bread offered to God and usually to be eaten only by the priests (see 1 Samuel 21:1-6; Leviticus 24:5-9).
The Sabbath was a day to stop working and to focus on God. The Pharisees, over the years, had added rules to the Sabbath that were more about performance and boundaries than reflecting on God’s mercy and grace. The rules became ends in themselves rather than means to an end.
The intent of Sabbath worship, however, was to honor the Lord over all of life and to celebrate and give thanks for his wonderful love and deliverance. In this way Jesus gives us a free pass to celebrate, so let’s take it with gratitude!
How will you worship God today? Is your worship a ritual or an act of gratitude for God’s grace in your life?
Father, you provide for me in countless ways. Increase my thanks, and help me to stop and reflect on your love. Amen.

Now that I have googled, it looks like my kind of food...not on diet...but came back to partake of bear claws.Thanks.

Good morning to all. I've been up an hour fighting with 2 computers (so NOT a computer problem but our internet).  Fitbit tells me I have had less that 2 hours sleep so will likely nap sometime today.  Spent hours before going to bed looking for "something" lost... and never did find it so the brain wouldn't shut down.

Lloyd, I have a grand daughter & another grandson's wife expecting in July & November, so 2 more to the list this year.  No twins, I always hoped for twins as the last of the family so no "baby of the family".

Good morning, Junee.  You can have my bear claws, I prefer just a plain sweet roll with a little sugar icing, bet Joan has some in there someplace.  I am hungry for something but not sure what.

Prayers for all in need and wishing Every Friend a happy day... I'm already wishing for fall.   :crazy2:

JaneS

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We had rain most of yesterday and it cooled things off considerably.  It's only supposed to get to 81 today.  And most of the day will be in the mid to high 70s.  Not so bad for June.

I have absolutely NO plans for today.  Unless it's to catch the doggies and plop them in the tub.  I still haven't managed that little chore.  And they can't go visiting next weekend the way they're beginning to smell.

They're now beginning to mill around in here wishing for breakfast.  I guess I better go feed them pretty soon.  Have a great day Everyfriend.  Do what you feel like doing and enjoy your time.

Junee--Glad you like them.:)

Good morning, Shirley.  Sorry you lost sleep fighting with those computers.  If you rummage around in the "hidey hole" you may find something you like to eat.

Janie--Good morning.  Today is going to be a scorcher here.  When I checked the temperature at 3:30 a.m. it was already 80°.  Maybe today you can give those sweet doggies a bath.

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Cool this morning but just right for me..54 ° and heavy dark clouds . I am off quilting this morning then I have a few things to do in town before I come home.

I did manage to cut both dogs nails yesterday, one is really good and the other one I have to coax and coax but we did get it done!!

Patricia, yes it could be both...might be looking for a needle in a haystack but yes  both would be nice for Jane and Callie .

Joan thank you for breakfast

Better go get all my gear ready.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning, Amy.  I was always afraid to cut our dogs nails for fear I'd make them bleed--so I had to take them to the vet to get it done.  Enjoy your time with the quilting group.

Joan, the Border Collie is the worst one to do...she will settle down after a bit and yes I have nipped them both and I am the one that hurts...doesn't seems to bother them. The Golden once she sees me coming with my glasses on and clippers in hand will lay down ,flat right out and let me do her nails. Of course they both get "special" treats when done.

Amy, so no dog fight then? re, your stubborn dog...My late dear Petra hated having hers done, we always landed up in a floor fight.... ;D I gave up, then it was down to the paid professional nail clipper....

Good Monday afternoon....made out a check list, will tick as they get done.....Booked my hairdressing appointment online, again I had dwindled them down to two,..... have to check out drop offs and parking for R, convenience of area, and if so, walking distance for me....Tomorrow I shall phone and book opticians app, the one I am favouring ( is not open today ) for my eye testing, again dwindled that down to two, both being a long respected concern going back in generations, unlike many of our opticians now....

Just came in from the garden, two helicopters flew over quite low, one being military, I shall watch for them 12 noon tomoroow, see if this is a regular trip....I often hear what sounds like helicopters but, living near the coast that is to be expected if anyone is in trouble in the water....but I usually hear that in the distance....

Well very early this morning BT's OpenReach van pulled up, man knocked at our door, R in the middle of a shave in his underwear, said he had no Idea he was coming...anyway we have had non stop internet trouble since we moved here, more recently pages weren't loading....now we have been given faster Internet, man said we have the maximum that we can have where we live, down in the valleys, we have gone from 2 to 42....down loadings will be a lot faster....

Benji's last medication this evening, then tomorrow morning, can still see some stitch thread drooping from outside his mouth...

Still awaiting my hospital scan appointment, re, my daily bleed....that's of course new Doctor put in referral this time....this will be holding me back, by a good seven weeks.... >:(

Now I am going to play catch-up with posts readings....

Wishing Everyfriends a carefree day....

JoanFL

Amy--You are braver than I am.

Good morning/afternoon, Vanilla-Jackie.  You sure have been busy seeking out and scheduling appointments for new service providers.  Bet you are glad your internet is quite a bit faster.

Good morning!  :sun:

Joan, TS Colin is supposed to come right over you according to the weather report.  Stay safe and dry.  I hope he gives you good rain but no problems.

Sunny (or cloudy?...it's anybody's guess :dontknow:) here today and humid and hot.  Normal for NC in the summer.  I will stay in and hug the AC and do some laundry.

One dog bathed!  I did the hard one first.  Mickie HATES baths with a purple passion!  If she knows it's forthcoming, she tries to hide but she has a vet apt this afternoon and I'm sure they don't want to smell her.

Annie is very docile and I think that's because she got used to the swimming pool at my daughter's house when she was only 2 years old.

I NEVER cut their nails!  I am so afraid of cutting too deeply that I leave that for the vet or the groomer to do.

OK, Annie's turn!

Good morning, Phyllis.  The local weather people are saying TS Colin "may" go a bit north of us.  We'll see.  I'm prepared either way.

Janie--I used to give our dogs their baths in the set tubs in the laundry room.  Where do you do it?

Hi everyone.  We have just had a brief period of rain.  It is going to be a humid day but it is only suppose to get to 77 degrees this afternoon, a nice break from the 90+ degree weather we have had the last few days.  I came into my office this morning only to discover one of my office windows was cracked from side to side.  Apparently someone shot a bb gun or threw a rock with a sling shot at the window as there is a deep but small pit it in that caused the cracking.  These are dual pane windows and it did not impact the inner glass and the glass did not shatter.  It was just a shocking thing to see.  I will have to get someone out to replace the glass.  Life is seldom dull and one never knows what the next day will bring.  I have a light schedule today with attending a noon meeting and Pat will probably go to Aldi's as we are out of fruit and a couple of other things.

Callie, thanks for the info on the jobs that Emily is doing for the baseball games.

Mary Ann, your Mr. Burgers sounds a great deal like the Gary's Hamburgers restaurant I got to have coffee with the guys.  They have a good business and their food is good.  Pat loves their butter biscuits.

Jane, sure happy for you that your car only needed maintenance and not a major problem.

I made a conscious decision this morning not to write a long post as most of what I would say to each one of you has already been mentioned by some tone else.    However, I make no promises about tomorrow.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, woke late and rushed my shower. My CNA will be here shortly so not much time here. After Don's program yesterday started watching a movie, needless to say I have watched more movies the last few days than I have in years. Will be back to catch up later.

Merry Monday,  Everyfriend,

I think I'm catching up on the sleep I missed!

Yesterday was such a nice day!   Good church service and all 6 of the OTL ladies enjoyed being together at our favorite diner afterwards.    I love long summer twilight times and stayed on the patio until it was dark enough to see the fireflies come out.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a lovely day.
