Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Good morning from Beaufort, SC.  Margaret drove us over here Thursday for a visit to see Sue & Randy's new house, celebrate Sue's birthday and get to see two of the new great-grandbabies.  It's been a good visit, and a good time. I'm not looking forward to the trip home tomorrow.  But we'll enjoy today!

Hugs to all the Buddies!

Darlene.....stay cool and healthy.

Mary...enjoy Beaufort.  I remember visiting there when we were down there on vacation.  Hope for a cool trip home.

Nothing exciting here....got out to WalMart for eggs and muffins, so my breakfasts are set for quite a while.  I also stopped for breakfast out and so don't need any lunch today.   ;D

Just talked to neighbor...his last child....the only girl...is about to start her senior year of HS and then wants to go for Physical Therapy..

Stay healthy, Buddies!

And another Monday rolls around!  The weatherguessers have now move the end of this heat thing to Friday.

Does anyone hear from Marilyn?  It's been a long time since she posted.  The same with Jeanne.

Stay well!

jane

maryz

I'm back home now. Just a short multi-purpose visit. We got to see Sue and Randy's new house halfway between their two younger kids, the kids and spouses, and their new babies (Frances [Frankie] and Austin).  It was also to celebrate Sue's birthday. All were good, and it was great to see the folks. Margaret got me home about 3:30 yesterday afternoon.  Always good to get home after even a short trip.

I see posts from Marilyn and Jeanne occasionally on Facebook, but that's all.

Got a dental appointment for a couple of fillings (yuck!) Wednesday, but then I get to get better with a haircut/mani/pedi on Thursday.

Have a good week, Buddies!

Bah Humbug!  I wrote my post, clicked on Save Draft instead of Post, and away it went and I cannot find the *&^% thing.

In a nutshell...got good report on last surgery and it's way too hot here.

Take care and stay cool.

maryz

Wonderful news, jane!  Way too hot here, too.  "Cold" front by Monday..."down" to about 90!

We had a few drops of rain this morning, but nothing like what we so desperately need.

Today is to be our last day of horrible temps and humidity....I hope.

Hope everyone in the excessive heat and stay inside and cool.

COVID is coming back, and this will go on for decades to come.  It may, probably will, be a slightly different strain or version each time.  It is a Big Threat to each and all of us, so go get your shot, wear a mask, wash your hands, wear plastic gloves, and BE CAREFUL.

We should all be wearing only Happy Day K94 masks which are made in South Korea and sold on Amazon.  Seriously.
Made in Korea. The mask should state clearly on its website and packaging that the product is made in Korea. Any mask that claims to be "KF94-style" or is made in China or another country is not a real KF94. Don't buy it.
Flat, glossy, single-use package. KF94s typically come in single-use flat envelope-style packages with a notch at the top to tear open. The package should have a glossy finish and a lightly-textured border. (A few brands may be sold in packs of five, but it's not common.) Recently one of our family members ordered some masks from Amazon that claimed to be made in Korea, but once they arrived there were 10 per package in a dull wrapper. We returned them and ordered Happy Day masks, which met all of the requirements.
Specific language in the corner of the package. For masks printed in Korean, the package should have "의약외품" or the word "quasi-drugs" in one of the corners of the packaging. But this may not be found on some KF94 masks printed in English. For instance, Happy Life's masks sold on Amazon don't include the lettering on its English-language package, but do have it on the Korean-language package.
MFDS certification on the website. Most legitimate mask makers will provide proof of MFDS certification on their website or if you ask. For instance, we emailed Lifesys AST Keep masks, and the company replied with a copy of their certificate within a day.

Yep, MaryPage - Covid is just going to be another flu-type thing, waxing and waning over time.

I'm currently obsessed watching the Weather Channel about Idalia. Since growing up in Houston on the Gulf Coast, I've always paid passing attention to hurricanes. But this time it's affecting family. Sue and Randy's new home and two of their children live near the South Carolina coast, and will be directly affected by this storm.  They are in Bluffton, Beaufort, and Charleston. They're all planning to stay put.

It has been "cooler" here, more seasonable in the mid 80s, with somewhat less humidity. Our "porch sitters" (not including me) are much happier, and spending more time there.

Nothing else exciting going on. Happy almost-September to all the Buddies!!

Thanks, MaryPage, for the mask info.

Maryz...I'm sure you're glued to the weather channel.  This whole year, weather-wise, has been chaotic, scary, goofy!  It's really one dam# weird weather thing after another.

I went out this morning for a haircut and then decided that needed to include lunch out, so I did that, too, and brought enough home for later this afternoon or tomorrow.

I also stopped at two stores I hadn't been in for ages and found one item calling my name.

Everybody has fall decorations out....I guess they're all sick of all the heat from this summer.  I need to think about getting mine out....maybe this weekend!   :2funny:  :2funny:

Take care and stay healthy,

jane

Yes, Mary. That is what our local medical people are putting out notices to us about.  Covid will be a fall pest for ages to come.  I get the majority of my annual shots (basically, the ones my doctors do not give me), from my local grocery: Giant Food.  They keep meticulous records, and my daughter Debi, who has taken on keeping track of every needle I am either due, have not yet taken, or cannot take, for one reason or another. She reports the Giant will have the RVS shots available next week and the two different types of Covid shots the following.  The plan we have concocted for me with the Giant is that I take all three two weeks apart each.

jane

Good morning, all.

It was in the 40s when I awoke, but it's heating up fast!

Nothing exciting here this morning, thank heavens.

I haven't heard anything about the RSV shot here, yet.

Stay safe!

I saw a pulmonary dr. yesterday & he sent me to a shop where I could buy a small oxygen concentrator .  I have a larger one on a cart but wanted a smaller size I could lift myself into the car .  I got a Inogen One .  I have needed my husband to take me shopping & medical appts .  He has also been taking out youngest son to his medical appts .  He recently had a mini stroke .  MY husband is tired !!

maryz

alpiner, glad you were finally able to get what you needed. I hope this lets your husband get some relief from the yeoman duty he's been doing.

alpiner, Aren't you on Medicare? If so Medicare PAYS 80% of concentrator rental. You shouldn't have to buy one.

FINALLY....we had a thunderstorm last night about midnight and got some much-needed rain.  It's also pleasantly cool this morning.

Nothing exciting here.  Hope you are all well.

jane

Cottoncandy

Jane..just sent you a message....

maryz

We've got a forecast for temperatures to be giving us a tease for fall weather by the end of the week.  Around 80 for highs and possibly into the 50s overnight.  I know we'll still get some summery days, but the cooler weather is coming.

I got a nice surprise yesterday afternoon. Jesse and family (Darby, Henry, and Lyndy) came by to visit for a little while. It was super to get to hold the 4-month-old Lyndy and see her sweet toothless smile. She'll be crawling before too much longer. And Henry is a total joy at 3 years - never still, but a sweet, loving little boy. It'll be nice while it lasts.  :smitten:

Happy Saturday, Buddies! Hope your teams win this weekend.

Beautiful almost fall day here...middle 70s and clear.

Nothing else new here.
