Don, I use either Chrome or Firefox. I know Edge doesn't work with codes, or adblocking or anything non-Microsoft. Also, Cortana is nothing more than a glorified Bing search engine and I prefer Google.

JeanneP

Now I tried using that coding in 3 different things.  Sending E-Mails. Senior Learning.. One other I can't remember who I did.  It worked on all of them.

Hi everyone.  It is another clear morning and we are headed up to 95 this afternoon.  As far as I know we won't be leaving the comfort of our home today other than a couple of outdoor chores that I will do in a few minutes and later to get the mail.

Yesterday I did drive Pat to her doctor's appointment.  Then on the way back we stopped at the Bernina Sewing Machine Dealer's and she bought an adapter for her sewing machine.

Then we went back to Tin Lizzies for lunch and had a very good, but very spicy dish.  Certainly no supper was needed last night.  Neither of us were able to finish the serving but it wasn't appropriate to bring home.

Today I will just work on some routine items here in my office, read my Sunday School lesson and just enjoy and unhurried day.

JeanneP, glad to see my way worked for you.  Another tool I use on occasion if something is too small or is difficult to read is to hold down the control key and use the scroll bar to increase the size of the print.  I find it makes it much easier to read.

Mary Ann, I like the bold as well and am trying to train myself to use here when posting.  It looks like it is getting pretty warm up your way.

I hope Tom's new bed will be comfortable for his back.  Getting a good night's sleep is very important.  Does he use a CPAP machine and if not has he ever been tested?  I didn't think I needed one but the sleep study indicated I did and now am getting used to using it.  Pat seems to have solved the problem she was having with hers in having water accumulate in the hose and make a popping sound.  She made some adjustment and seems to have found the key to getting it to work well.

Patricia, I bet the sunny day was most enjoyable for you.  Maybe you will have some better weather now. Farrah really seems to be adjusting to her new home and obviously trusts you.

Shirley, I just sent you an email relating to your posting difficulty which basically reiterates  what others have mentioned.  Unless I want to change some of the settings for a later part of my posting I do not use the closing coding.  I learned this wasn't needed from a posting here a couple of days ago (sorry, I don't remember who shared that information).

Patricia, I did an experiment with Windows 10 and the Edge browser and it posted in the format I wanted (which is coded as is this posting).  However, I had a problem with Edge only allowing me to type so far and it wouldn't accept the correction I tried to make on two words typed together.

Beautiful day, here on the bay.  Speaking of the mighty Chesapeake, I spent a good bit of time emailing back and forth with Bubble in Tel Aviv yesterday, sending her all sorts of bits and pieces in an attempt to put her in the picture as far as this estuary is concerned.  All of you who have been here and seen it all, please assure Bubble that yes, Delaware and Maryland are itty, bitty states and Virginia is not one of our biggest, albeit it is far and away the loveliest place on the planet, and Delmarva stands for Delaware, Maryland and Virginia where they come together on a peninsula bordering the Atlantic Ocean.  And we are in a temperate zone here, where it is never as hot as Western Joan's Washington State desert area or as cold as Sandy Dapph's Maine is and/or Patricia's Alaska used to be.

Phew!  I'm all out of breath after that!

Today, Melissa and Adam are throwing a humongous party in celebration of Miles first birthday on May 19th.  It has been postponed no less than THREE times due to the torrents of rain May brought us.  Debi & Steve are driving over to Easton on Maryland's Eastern Shore for that event, and then dropping by Kathryn's mother in law's place in the same town, where Kathryn & John were married, to join in the bash for John's Jack Benny birthday, which is today, this very day.  For you youngsters not up on the slang belonging to MY age group, that means his 39th.

Paige and Alex and Ezra are devastated that they cannot join the family over there, as they have had tickets like forever to the Cirque du Soleil in Baltimore for today, for the purpose of celebrating Ezra's 5th birthday, which is this Monday, June 13th.  Tomorrow the three of them will depart for a vacation in the Dominican Republic.  I was tickled to hear that the books I sent Ezra arrived yesterday.  Me, I don't enjoy long rides in the car and crowds, so I am staying home and enjoying it all vicariously.  At my age, that is absolutely the best way to enjoy loud and lively parties!

Mary Ann, I am in precisely the same habit as you.  So now I will highlight this whole post and click on the B for bold and the Change Color and the Maroon and hit Post.  I like to add a headline up above under Subject:, as well and all.  Toodles!

Good morning all.  Well my son's bike finally died and after all the money he has put into it.   Yesterday he bought a brand new one so this one should last for some time.   Also I won't have to worry about him on his trip in August.  I would show you pics but I doubt any of you are interested.  If any are, I can share on FB so you can see it.

Somehow I slept funny the other nite and got a very sore neck.  This one just doesn't want to go away however. Hurts really bad.....  Taking Tylenol.

Other than that no news from the GNW  HUGS all around.

Good morning from another cloudy, possibly raining Interior!

The only expected sunny day, Thursday the 16th, will be bracketed by cloudy with rain.

Yesterday we had very hot weather in the middle and a rainstorm in the early evening. I spent the hotter portion of the day with others, planting coneflowers in my small garden plot and weeding and watering the lawn, parkway and just general pickup. It was a very convivial group out on the lawns. We have volunteer pansies sprouting everywhere, even in the gravel back by the enclosed dog park.

Although the city and the hospital complex have garden plots available to folks, this is the first place I've lived at that has those and an enclosed dog park for residents. We have fiddlehead ferns growing along the exterior walls and rhubarb going crazy along one extended wall.

One planter I'm not sure about is too close to the outside sidewalk and has strawberries and blueberries planted. People walking along will love that instead of the residents! Our four lilac bushes from last year are doing well as are our raspberry bushes.

Farrah has found a new daytime den. Instead of sleeping under the bed or on top of the dirty clothes basket in the bedroom, she burrows under the couch blanket and naps there. and yes, I think she has given her trust and now feels she  at home.

JeanneP

if something is too small or is difficult to read is to hold down the control key and use the scroll bar to increase the size of the print.  I find it makes it much easier to read.

This did not work for me. Are you using w10 or w7 like me?
JeanneP

angelface555

Jeanne, try holding down control and then using the upper right plus or minus keys to change the font size.

JeanneP

Larry. Now what you said did not work for me.  Are you using W10 or W7.

JeanneP

Mary Ann

Larry, Tom said he slept very well last night.  Yes, he does use a CPAP machine and needed to have a table beside the bed for the machine, his phone and something else.  The room is fairly large for a condo about 12-ft square.  He wanted to have the bed in front of the window but found that didn’t fit all of his needs, so has it about two feet from the window, but parallel to it.  I haven’t see the cat much today and I wonder if he’s enjoying the bed when Tom is not home.

I have another Kendrick story.  Today the last of my Amazon purchase came.  I put the package on the dining room table while I looked for something to open it.  When I got back, the cat was on his hind legs, front legs on the edge of the table.  I knew then there was catnip in the box.  I turned my back and when I turned around, he was on the table.  He got off in a hurry.  The package turned out to be another scratcher so I closed the box and turned it over and will store it until we need one.  I keep the catnip in a drawer in the living room and he knows where it is.  If I open that drawer, Kendrick is “Johnny on the Spot” hoping to get some catnip.  Kendrick hasn’t warmed up to the back scratcher yet.

I haven’t seen an official temperature yet, but we are close to 90 degrees.  I’ve been watching the golf tour from PA and it is quite windy there and the scores reflect it.  On the third day you’d expect the leaders to have more than -2 scores.

I tried using the scroll and it worked well but I too use the Control and + sign to make things larger.

Have all who watched the Eagles noticed that they have now left the Nest. I think on the B shot it shows them in the Trees.
Very good crowd out at the beach today also.

Well that didn't work.
Correction, it did work, I had written pts. instead of just pt.

MarsGal

Shirley, do you have [size] at the end of your statement? You need both the beginning statement [size=14pts] and an ending. Color and font choice work the same way; you need both a beginner and an ender [].

It should look like this with both the beginning bracket and the end bracket.

I often check my changes in the preview box before posting. That way if I get the coding wrong or don't like the result I can change it before posting.

Marsgal, I was trying something new suggested by Larry.  And it did it right, once I did it correctly.  ;) Thanks for your input.

Got it.  Thanks Larry!

Hi everyone.  It is going to be a very hot day getting up to 99 degrees or more this afternoon.  I don't look forward to coming out of church and getting into that hot car but guess we won't melt.  Nothing unusual on tap for today.  I have completed my outside and inside chores for today while it is still reasonably comfortable. We will go to Sunday School and Church and then get something to eat.  We had a nice quiet and restful day yesterday.

Bubble, MaryPage is correct that Delaware and Maryland are not big States.  The same is true for several of the New England states.  I have lived in Virginia and Maryland and having driven through Western Maryland I have to put my vote there.  However, every State has its own beauty and Virginia is indeed a beautiful State.

MaryPage, I knew exactly what you met by the "Jack Benny" birthday, which was celebrated many times.  It sounds like this is certainly a time for birthday celebrations in your family.

Joan, happy for your son getting a brand new motorcycle.  Glad the old one got him back home safely from the recent trip.  What brand is it? I can feel for you and the sore neck.  A number of years ago I got one that lasted for months until I got a special pillow that supports my neck.  I still use it every day as don't want another hurting neck.  I hope your neck pain doesn't last long.

Patricia, your garden spot sounds great.  Do each of you that want one get a designated area.  I don't think I know what a coneflower is.  I can picture the rhubarb growing along one extended wall.  I don't think any weather condition, other than freezing would kill that stuff.  It is at the bottom of the like list for me but do remember having great fun playing with the huge leaves as a child.

JeanneP, I use W10.  Sorry my suggestion did not work for you.  Computers can do strange things.

Mary Ann, I watched the last part of round three and believe the leader at the end of the day had a 3 stroke lead at minus 10 under par.

Jeanne, I have used that size change technique clear back to the days of Windows XP.  If your scroll bar isn't doing the trick try the up or down arrows with the control key held down.

Shirley, you are most welcome.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone..
I am off to see my family today,

Larry, in my very immediate family, that is to say, only children & their spouses, granddaughters & their spouses, and great grandchildren (so far, no spouses), I have a huge number of birthdays.  Eight [8] in January, two (2) in February, seven (7) in March, four (4) in April, ten (10) in May, four (4) in June, five (5) in July, four (4) in August, five (5) in September, three (3) in October, seven (7) in November and seven (7) in December.  I sent cards to each and every one.  We celebrate EVERY one of us!

Good morning from an another damp and drizzling day in the Interior!

Hot coffee and hot soup day for sure! Birch trees are swaying, rain is falling and the mists are drifting over the foothills. I'm sure all the local flood controls are directing waters as most of the rivers are still low in town. And we have five new fires in the southeast and one, over a thousand acres since Thursday in the northwest. Another wet day in our new normal.

Larry, we each have a small garden plot available if we wish one as part of the amenities. Coneflowers look like daisies, only the petals can come in different colors and the center is larger and often a maize-like  color.

Farrah is very active these days, becoming her own cat and discovering everything.

LARRY..........
Tried your suggestion:"If your scroll bar isn't doing the trick try the up or down arrows with the control key held down."

When I try this method, it acts as a PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN key.

As others have mentioned, the best way I've found to increase or decrease size of screen contents is using CTRL +  and CTRL - keys.

We all appreciate your helpful hints.

Larry, not sure bt think he said it was a Victory.  Does that sound right?

As for the neck, it is worse this morning so gonna try no pillows tonight.  We will see how that works.

shirleyn

Joan, a few years back, I had terrific neck pain & had to go in for physical therapy.  That did the trick.  Now, whenever it starts again I use some of the exercises they gave me.  After which I use a hot pad.  I hope you can get some help with yours.

shirley

wjoan

Thanks Shirley, tried letting the shower run on it yesterday and that seemed to help.  I will keep trying different things til I find something that works.  I do have a neck pillow  so may try that also.  As for exercises, that is out of the question since I cannot move my neck much in any direction.

Mary Ann

It's very comfortable here today.  My computer says 75 degrees and I'll have to wait until I post to see what the weather thingie says.

Dot and I did our usual this morning, church and OTB.  We covered all sorts of subjects at the Cholesterol Pit.  Both of us had hamburgers (hers had olives).

My neighbor is out, cleaning up her garden area.  She did a beautiful job on my area last year and I'm sorry, I can't get down to do any gardening so can't help her.

Still raining here....

I don't know if this will work for others, but I go to usually the upper right of either Chrome or Firefox and change the font size there. For S&F, I use Bubble's method of typing out the post, using select all and then clicking on the types of fonts, colors or font size I wish to use. I usually go for BOLD and the color Navy. I am trying some new ideas here.

For other ideas, Larry I am crushed to not receive your email!  :'(

I spoke to my younger sister, she is getting rheumatoid arthritis. My niece, Sarah has recently gotten engaged to a long time boyfriend and all is well. My older sister is enjoying Tuscany so all is well there. Farrah is well and Life is rolling along.

Larry, Dan just put  up new pics of his bike. <on FB> I shared it so you could see it.  It is a Victory.

MarsGal

It has been a very breezy and sunny day today.

I am about to give up on yard-work and hire someone to do it. My arthritis lets me alone for only an half an hour before my back starts aching. This first thing spring I felt good so I stayed out over an hour; I've been paying the price ever since. Well, that and having to move furniture and an old, dead, heavy TV around to get the new much lighter flat panel into place and get a new air conditioner upstairs. That air conditioner seemed to weigh so much more than last year's new one (same model and weight). My doctor told me I need to find someone else to do the heavy work now.

The last time I was out to mow the lawn I came in "ticking". It must have dropped off the maple at the bottom of the yard where a bunch of catnip grows. The branches are low there. It was flatter than a pancake when I found it, so it could not have been on long. Back to using the bug sprays, although I have very little faith in their effectiveness. Mosquitoes seem to find me regardless.

My sister decided, after many years, to take up riding her bike again. She and her husband bought a pair long ago but never really used them. He had to hang on to her until she got going and then she only did a very wobbly turn around the cul-de-sac. She was surprised to find that that very tiny jaunt wore her out. Her bike is the heavier mountain/trail bike rather than the lighter, sleeker bikes you see most people pedaling around in.
