I'm glad you are enjoying your day, Jeanne Lee!

You are correct, Joan. Now if we could have some of your sunshine?

I deleted my Facebook account when those fake pages began as a scam and Facebook couldn't/wouldn't stop any of it. Now I only miss it when I am unable to view items.

I'm just popping for a moment to ask the many friends here to include Mohamed in prayers.  He departs Egypt early tomorrow morning and arrives in the USA via London tomorrow evening.  It has been an especially grueling semester at his home university, so his two week visit to the USA is most welcome.  He'll be checking in with our medical Dr. while he is here also and, hopefully, will get some more information and prescription refills.

I also continue to have the INTENSE back pains, which my Medical folks can't seem to figure out the cause.  I have appointment with our local Heart Clinic in a couple of days, so prayers will be most appreciated.

My son has settled in a bit at his new Army base in Korea, where he will be for the next 2 years.  His wife already has flight reservations to visit him.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

JaneS

Molly, you and your two guys have my prayers daily.  I pray that you will find some relief soon.

Gloria, I am glad you had that good long sleep after battling with that new program of 10. I have read here of others liking it, and others finding it a pain in the neck. For myself, I don't want to try to change anything. I am so happy that we have a dear girl here that knows how to mend our computers, as well as our t.v.'s, plus other chores she has as her job here at Rowntree.

I had a nice afternoon with the two programs I attended, plus a good lunch downstairs, but by the time I got home, I felt all worn out. So I am staying in for the rest of the day. Had a nice nap, and that usually helps.

Janie, I am LOL over your finding the lost zzzzzz's in your couch. You have a great sense of humor girl.

phyllis, you sound like I feel after your busy day. Mine wasn't really that busy but it sure wore me out.

Molly, I pray Mohamed has a safe journey and a good rest.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

BEVERLY, DID YOU GET YOUR A/C up and running today, I hope?

MOLLY, prayers for safe travels to America tomorrow for Mohamed.  Happy to read your DIL has already booked travel to see Chape's new post.  Prayers for you and hoping you can get some answers about the terrible back pain you are dealing with.  Hugs to you.

Heading off to be...can not keep my eyes open.

Sleep well.

CHUCKLES

Nurses in Heaven

Three nurses went to heaven and were awaiting their turn with St. Peter to plead their case to enter the pearly gates.

The first nurse said, "I worked in an emergency room. We tried our best to help patients, even though occasionally we did lose one. I think I deserve to go to heaven." St. Peter looked at her file and admitted her to heaven.

The second nurse said, "I worked in an operating room. It was a very high-stress environment, and we did our best. Sometimes the patients were too sick and we would lose them, but overall we tried very hard." St. Peter looked at her file and admitted her to heaven.

The third nurse said, "I was a case manager for an HMO."

St. Peter looked at her file. He pulled out a calculator and started punching away at it furiously, constantly going back to the nurse's file.

After a few minutes, St. Peter looked up, smiled, and said, "Congratulations! You've been admitted to heaven ... for five days!"

Food For Thought

God's Greatness - A Source of Comfort
(by Dr. Charles Stanley)
(Based on Psalm 89:1-10)

David's heart-felt cries for help fill the Psalms. His prayers are a blend of requests and worship that recall the Lord's greatness, power, and protection. Praying with a recognition of God's amazing attributes reminds us that He has the wisdom, strength, and compassion to meet all of our needs.

"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?" (Psalm 139:7). God is everywhere. He is not limited by time or space, which means that we have never been away from His awareness for so much as a single moment. Even when we feel isolated or friendless, we are not alone, because God's presence covers the world.

"Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite" (Psalm 147:5). God knows everything. When we bend our knees to pray, He is already aware of the feelings and needs we are about to mention. So we can be certain that when we ask for direction, He will provide clear guidance if we are submitted to His will.

"With [God] there is no variation or shifting shadow" (James 1:17). God's character is constant. Since we can always trust that He will be faithful, reliable, and merciful, we're able to place confidence in Him in any situation.

When a believer recalls an attribute of God that meets his need, he places the focus of his prayer on the Lord rather than on the request. By mixing praise into our prayers, we end up asking for less, worshipping better, and receiving more because our emphasis is in the right place.

Good morning everyone.
Mrs Robin an Charlie(horse) had other ideas than me sleeping in a bit. Sitting here with my cup of tea  for a bit then off to get ready. It should be a fun day and full of laughter as it usually is when the 4 of us get together. I think the four of us would dearly love to win the door prize, a long arm  sewing machine.

Molly, prayers for you all. Back pain is one of the worst pains because no matter how you walk, sit or sleep it is always there.

Jane, thank you. Will let you know how the day went ,if I have any energy left tonight.

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm loving this weather!  I don't understand it but I love it.  It goes down into the high 402 and low 50s overnight (good sleeping weather) and then into the high 70s and low 80s all day.  I like not needing heat OR A/C.  Saving money every day.

Amy, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to win the sewing machine.  Or if you can't that one of your friends will.  It's not going to be easy checking out items and bagging them with my fingers crossed but for you, I'll try!

I wish you all a lovely day and safe travels for Mohammed and a lovely restful vacation.

Good morning everyone, I might still have been sleeping but they are mowing the grass here and of course they were in front of my part of the building. I did sleep good, window open and fresh cool air coming in. My grandson came over last night. He did say if I had left the 10 installed he could have partitioned the hard drive and install my disk of 7 home. Wonder if I would have better luck with it if I went to Windows to install it. I clicked on the one that kept popping up  to install it. He showed me some new pictures of his son, crawling and pulling himself up and holding on getting around. They sure grow fast. He has so many pictures on that iPhone it amazes me. Today supposed to get into the 80's but with low humidity it will not be too bad. So sad, just saw on the news I little boy snatched by an alligator at a Disney resort.

JOAN  at least this HP is still better than the last Dell I had. I got this one the end of February. Yes it is a good thing I remembered that appointment was next week. I would have been downstairs waiting for my ride and when she didn't show up I would have called and rescheduled the appointment. That lemon DD sure did perk e up yesterday, thanks for thinking about my frame of mind at that time.

JANE  I hope you found those lost zzz's yesterday.

GLORIA de  I have it marked as the 21st on my calender and my appointment book but was thinking it was the 14th. Have an appointment on the 14th in July. Of course I left you a couple of lemon DD's. I would never be a piggy and take all of them. We know Joan always has more than enough for us.

JOAN  we have been lucky here the past week, very low humidity and it feels great.

PHYLLIS  I am worn out from reading all you did yesterday. I would have loved to go into that bakery. Those are places I really try to avoid because I find it hard to make up my mind on what looks the best.

DON  you uninstalled 10 faster than I did. I could not see where it was easier that 7 and was very confusing. Maybe I am too old for new things anymore? When I could not see graphics anymore that did it for me.

MARY ANN  my grandson set the updates to manual. He did that before when he set the PC up or me but one time the tech(?) I talked to at HP changed it.

JEANNE  my grandson put Facebook oh this PC so I could see the pictured of the baby they posted there. I dislike it. Every time I think of looking I find a list of people I do not know and get tired of deleting all of them.

AMY  enjoy the quilt show. Maybe you will find some ides for one you will make.

MOLLY  I wish Mohamed a safe trip. Nice your DIL can visit Chaps. Back pain is no fun, I know.

JUNE  no one here knows much about computers, even the manager and the resident helper. There are 4 PC's in the library and only one works and those who use it only play games. I know when I tried using it I had a hard time getting online to get into S&F.

JOAN  love chuckles. Looks like St. Peter did not care much for HMO's either. Food for thought is one to think about when we pray. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  waking to Mrs. Robin is not too bad but Charlie horse can go away forever. Hope you win that sewing machine.

JANE  like you I am enjoying the weather we are having, Now if the whole summer would be like this I would like it.

Hi everyone on a bright, sunny and already warm morning.  We are expecting to get to 94 degrees this afternoon.  We had a two showers of about a quarter of an inch yesterday, which is appreciated.  I won't have to water my yard on Thursday morning.

We had a great time with our friends yesterday. We enjoyed a long leisurely lunch at Ryan's Buffet, then we took them for a brief tour of our little town and then across the bridge to Augusta and went down the main business street quite for some block seeing things we had not viewed.  When we got back to the house it was time for them to leave.

I did see the cardiologist yesterday and she wants to do a PET scan of my heart, an ultrasound of my carotid arteries and a stress test to get a better feel for the condition of my heart.  I should hear soon when these are scheduled.  I have never had the PET scan done before.

Today is our day with Scott, which we always look forward to.  He called me yesterday afternoon to see if I would be available, if needed, as he works on his brakes to take him to the auto parts store.  I told him I would stand by.  He will then be out either to go to lunch with us or this evening when we will got out to eat.  Spending time with him is always the highlight of our week.

Hal, it actually was my Facebook account that was hacked.  I was thinking when I wrote yesterday morning that it was my email.  I did change my Facebook password last night and probably will once again change the email password just for good measure.

June, I am a bit surprised that they schedule activities for you all in the early to mid-afternoons as would think that could be nap time for many of the residents.  Of course, I realize not everyone lays down to rest in the afternoon like I and have done for many years.

Gloria, I am always saddened when I read that some school or other place has removed the display of the American Flag for political correctness.  You don't need the disks to repair the Windows program.  The uncorrupted files are already stored on your computer. I expect your grandson is aware of this.  You do not want to do a complete reinstall as it would destroy your loaded programs and files.  The command to repair is on the same screen as the reinstall command.  I agree with you on the BCC and often have wanted to write to those individuals with instructions on how to use BCC and also to edit and remove all of the names and other irrelevant parts of forwarded email.  However, I seldom do it as I wouldn't want to offend anyone and so I just ignore it.  Do a search for password generators and you will free programs that will generate random passwords for you.  I use this tool that is a part of LastPass and it creates very strong passwords.

Phyllis, I think many malls are experiencing decline as stores are leaving.  Now more shopp ing areas are like strip malls with the stores all having outside entrances.  I am aware of several very large malls, that used to be very successful with big name anchor stores, that have totally closed and been destroyed or sit empty.

Don, have you checked to see if the recording program you have been using has a Windows 10 software update?  Are you going to rollback the Windows 10 to the previous version you were using?

Larry, I guess I did miss the posting.  However, I have already addressed it and hope that takes care of the problem.  Fortunately I don't use Facebook very much so hopefully not everyone in my address book got the bad email.  Thanks for trying to let me know as several other did.

Molly, is medicine as expensive in Egypt as it is here in the USA?  I know you will be happy to see Mohamed call and say he has safely landed at the USA airport and when he arrives at your home.

Amy, would you have room for a long-arm sewing machine.  If it is like the ones I have seen in stores those things are huge.Hope you enjoy the quilt show.  Pat has attended several of them.

Carol

It is going to be hot today so I have the pre-set to go on when it hits 74* in the house.

Exercise is over - such a routine that I have to do it early or forget about it.  Treadmill then down on the floor stretches for my back - meanwhile listening to a favorite radio show that is on so many subjects.

Be safe all.

halkel

Good Morning Everyone.

Back later.

Joan and Gloria, those cannoli were ever bit as good as I was hoping and more!  Wish I could share with all of the Everyfriends here.  I'm afraid that French bakery is going to see more of me.   :eat:

Started cloudy but the sun is out now.  And the humidity is back up.  Typical NC summer weather.

I suppose I should do some housew**k since I'll be spending the day at home but I really don't want to get any demerits from Joan.  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!   ::)

Good Morning,

It's to be sunny,  hot and very humid for the next several days.  The complex's sprinkler system has a leak in the main pipe from the pond, so we're on our own to water our yards until it's fixed.

I woke up a little before 7:00 this morning and by 7:30, was out watering the "pot/perennial" garden.  I've fixed my oscillating sprinkler to water the back yard so all I have to do is step out and turn on the faucet (and then remember to set the timer so I can step out and turn it off!).

Have already had a little "power nap" but don't really have anything else that needs to be done or anywhere I need to go.  That's o.k.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a lovely day.

Edit:  just read on Facebook that actress Ronnie Claire Edwards has died.  She played Cora Beth on "The Waltons".
Ronnie Claire was a sorority sister at OU and always in charge of our chapter's act in the annual Sooner Scandals variety show.  One year we did a melo-drama and I was supposed to do the backstage sound effect when "the lights went off and a scream rang out".   No one, including me, knew that, although my voice carries a long way and I can yell, I can't scream...and it came out sounding like a gargle.  Of course, the audience thought it was hilarious.  Ronnie Claire was furious - and I was immediately fired from the only attempt I ever made to be in theater.    ;D

Good Morning all…..I am having some rice crispies topped with a sliced banana, and not enough milk.  I will take down a clean jar and get it refilled later.

Gloria, I am so glad your Grandson has fixed up you computer. I don't have Facebook as my Dan was against it and he is my computer guru. I think that was the program.

Larry, I know what you mean about enjoying your weekly visit with your son. It is always a special treat for me when Gary or Dori drop by. Dan, my older son, I see once a year, when he and his wife drive or fly down.

Carol, i do leg and arm exercises and massage tor legs and and arms while still in bed in the morning. It is of my own design to help the blood flow in my peripheral arteries. And my Dr. approves.

Hal, hope all is well with your day. will look for you later on in the day

Time to make my bed, dress  and get down for Bible study at 10 o'clock. I lose myself here on the computer so will have to rush…………

I was gone doing errands much longer than expected--decided to take some "me" time.  I'll get some lunch and try to get a few zzz's.  This afternoon I am interviewing a husband/wife duo to clean for me--to replace the duo I had for almost 7 years.

Good afternoon, still not to bad, with the low humidity, and a little breeze.  Just had some good news for a change.  I thought I needed a new roof, I heard this was and honest man, so I called him, he checked my roof to day. He said it did not look to bad, but the seals were all broken around the outlets on the roof, including skylight  He said lets try fixing those, and see if that stops the leaks in the bathrooms.  Every body around me has had to get a new roof, so I would not have been suprised if that is what he told me.  I am so glad I choose him,

Joan, I like the post about the nurses.  I guess i would only get in heaven for 5 days, as I always had to tell a lot of patients to  be sure and call their ins. co. or have a family member call.

Molly prays are with you and your family.I just wish Mohamed would stay longer.

Amy, hope this was your lucky day.

Gloria, so far I have been lucky that I still keep my old Vista going. It was given to me by a friend, when she got a new PC.  I just call my guru. and he comes over and strighten it out. Last time he fixed a lot of things, and when I went to pay him, He told me it was my birthday present, as it was in Feb. How lucky can one get.

Where is Jackie to day, she is always early.

A good Wednesday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND.

THANK YOU, JOAN, for the goodies today.  Had to chuckle at the Nurses joke.  Sad, but true.  Good luck getting a replacement team for your house cleaners.

GLORIA, how nice for you that the temps have been nice and little humidity.

GLORIA de...how nice that you do not need a whole roof replacement done.  I believe you will get into heaven forever as you

LARRY, enjoy your time with Scott Day.

CALLIE, shame on Ronnie Claire for ruining your chance for a career in the theater!

AMY, holding good luck thoughts that you will win the sewing machine!

You are right, CAROL, it is going to be a HOT one today...as well as many to follow.  How has your attic fan been doing for you?

We are off tonight to Dr. Dave's where we will be staying with the kiddos until Sunday evening while mom and dad are away.  Thank genes Mark will be here to water the plants.  Many of my beautiful plants look like the devil after being beat up by that terrible hail storm.... However, I am babying them along in hope of them turning around.

Enjoy a wonderful day.... Hope you hear from Mhamed soon, MOLLY, saying he is in the states safe and sound.

The bad news coming out of Florida is beyond belief...  Shootings and Alligators ?

Oh my word ...  And of course,  the news goes
on and on ad nauseam ....  the worst
besides the reality that over 50 people
were shot,   were the news showing
videos of some of the people killed in
those awful shootings,  talking on their
cell phones when shots were being fired
and saying that they knew that they
were going to die..    over and over
again ....    I refuse to watch it believe
that they news coverage should be
much more responsible...  of course,
they won't because they make money
out peoples pain and tragedies.

I also think that harnessing children is
one good way to keep them close,
when out in crowds,  where they could
get away and get lost, hurt or stolen.

Too bad if other people don't like
to see kids in harnesses.   It is not
their child,  so it is none of their
business.

Oh Sandy ...   This is all just way
too much horror,  sadness,  and
tragedy  for this old soul.

:'( :'(

It's sure a long time between postings in here this afternoon!  I came home from work so hungry that I've been eating my way through most of the leftovers in my fridge.  It keeps the dogs right at my feet hoping there will be some leftovers coming their way.  I do have a piece of potato for each of them but I'm making them wait for it...meanie that I am.

It was a good day at WM.  Extremely busy but we had plenty of cashiers and no one had to wait more than a few minutes so we had lots of happy shoppers.

I think I'm going to go see if I can find the zzzzs that I left in the sofa cushions yesterday.  I knew I'd need them today.  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!
