Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

I have enjoyed the videos so much, even went back & watched twice, afraid I might have missed something.  I left messages in all (I think) but has been a busy day of phone calls.  I'm always afraid I will get interrupted with a phone call and forget to thank someone & rarely come back in here to say thanks.... times I wonder if old age is catching up, you think?   :idiot2: :crazy2:  Oh, well, we all are floating in the same boat, huh?   :tissue: :bonk:

Jack, It is splendid video! I enjoyed Ohio River very much. I must make the video about Ashida River, too!

Sachiko3

Vanilla-Jackie, wonderful slide show. And music has pathos and looks good well.

Sachiko3

Shirley, Thank you very much for the comment that was always full of your heart. I am supported for words having gentle everybody including you and make my video. And I expect your comment from now on.

Thank you all for your comments, re, the country park dog walk and my back garden flowers.....I am very happy here in my new home, the front and back gardens are very green, and both the front and back have stunning scenery's as we are situated down in the valley....we are very private although we have had the odd hiker, rambler pass through....guess they have gotten a bit lost and ventured down our steep and slopey private driveway leading into our private Parkhome site, but they can get out the other side....If and when I get the chance to get out and about I will take my camera with me, our next stop will be a sandy beach, I already have a scenic place in mind that accepts dogs on it this time of year ( some wont, ) just need a good walking day for me, re my MS...a day I can trust it to allow me to do a short walk.......

Jack, I looked for the photo of the Ashida River, but a suitable thing was not found, and the following appeared.

Following Photopeach is my first Photopeach which I was asked by Mr. Rakusai and made before he shows Photopeach. I made this on January 15, 2009.

At last I found suitable video “Ashida river & Flowers”.

2008 June, Ashida river & Flowers

Sachiko I just viewed both videos and they provide a good view of the river, wildlife and flowers.  Liked the music especially on the Photopeach.

FlaJean

I also viewed both and enjoyed them, Sachiko.

Jack, Jean, thanks a lot for your comments!
I made a lot of videos about the Ashida River and uploaded them in Vimeo or YouTube. And I had a hard time to look for a suitable video from them.

I looked for videos about the Ashida River which I made and uploaded in Vimeo. And there were 16 videos. I stored the URL of those videos in my site.
There is an interesting video in them.
Sachiko’s Come fly with me (2011 June 29)

jackwv

Sachiko that was a good one, lots of activity and the song is an old favorite.

FlaJean

Agree with Jack that it is a really good video and liked Frank Sinatra's "Fly With Me".  It has been so hot that we haven't been out and about very often to take any photos.

Sachiko3

Jack, Jean, thank you very much for your comments!
For long time, I took very many photos. There is no willpower only for it now. This song matches my video well. This video is my treasure.

Shirley

I left a message with the video, Sachiko, but will repeat that I was fascinated with the different "flips" of the water, a subject I think is difficult to paint and keep realistic. Great job with the detail.

My river is still a muddy mess where the water has been high.  I went down several times today to see if it had gone down enough to look past the brush to see if the kayaker's body might be caught on the trees.  The water has been high enough to make using a boat unsafe so helicopters have searched.  Very sad for the family to have this go on & on.  The wind was very strong today but still humid.  I can't find much nice to say about summer! >:(   One of these days I will get photos off the camera & make a video... if I can remember how~

Sachiko3

Shirley, thank you very much for your comments in the site of my video and here. It is serious that your river is still a muddy mess where the water has been high. I pray that the water goes down early.

Hard to read the news or watch tv.   So fortunate to be able to get Jessie, and spend a quiet nights walk at the park.

Jack,  it is about 2:30 in the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep.    How nice to get on the computer and be able to take a walk around Oglebay.  The music was so soothing  and the flowers are just beautiful.  Maybe I will be able to get back to sleep now.  Interesting story about the new terrace gardens.  That will be something to watch develop.

I've been up since before 4:00 am, too, Joy, and agree this is a great place to stop in to relax!  Jack, I love the video with so many flowers & colors.  So grateful you brighten our days.  I can't get enough of checking what plants they put together in the hanging baskets & beds, can't have any success with either here.  Wind beats the hanging baskets apart and the Bermuda grass ruins any flower beds I've planted.  Been fighting that Bermuda for 30 years at this house & finally decided it can have the yard, I give up!  I will enjoy Oglebay's flowers and quit trying to pull those long strands of tough Bermuda in my flower beds.  Thanks!

Joy and Shirley thanks.  You know by now that I never know the names of the plants, I just enjoy.   It cooled off last evening so a nice walk and met several people to stop and chat.  The park is very quiet in the evening, and often no one there, but even then like to just stroll at Jessie's pace and sit a spell on several benches.

Shirley the Bermuda grass was from a fall photo.  I wanted to put that fountain in and forgot to take a photo.  Flowers are now where the Bermuda grass stands.

Mary Ann

Jack,  it's always fun to walk around Oglebay.  What beautiful flowers they have.

I was wondering last night after I had watched your video  if you know what kind of security does Oglebay have?

With all the destructive  things that some crazy people do,  was wondering if  Oglebay  has a way to keep people out during the night.   Have you ever heard about any kind of destruction that is done there?   You know every once in a while, you hear about   people going in  and destroying a lot of the grounds in cemeteries.

No reason for asking...... just was being curious  !

Jack, sure did enjoy your video and the music.  What a beautiful place to walk and you're lucky you can take Jessie.  So many places we have been have "no pets" signs.  We were going to Lowe's a couple of days ago and saw two small deer by the roadside.  Reminded me of Oglebay with its many deer----all sizes.

jackwv

Mary Ann, Joy and Jean thanks.

Jean I did not stop for the deer.  Several cars were parked at their favorite spot, and people were feeding them.  Did not want them to be wary of Jessie.

Joy I have not heard of any vandalism, they have security cameras around the park, but the park is wide open with even a state highway going right by.  My concern would be for the safety of people, and usually most leave at dusk.   They usually have a ranger on duty.

Jack, lovely peaceful video, and flowers. They have not even turned on any of our fountains this year, and the local garden club volunteers hasn't even filled the various parks with flowers, nor the flower boxes along the many bridges.

The only flowers I have seen cultivated is in the Universities main grounds, it's  agricultural farms or Alaskaland's Pioneer Park. I don't know why but then I've been avoiding the news this summer as too much otherwise, is going on.

jackwv

Patricia The Park was left to the city and the park commission has control, the city can't dictate and believe that is why it is special.

I am attaching the link to a professional coverage of Oglebay that is on you tube.   A bit long but you can skip along and see why for over 50 years I am a regular visitor.  With Jessie's advanced age I do little travel  but we are almost up there daily.

Jack, I assumed it was only a park and learned differently from the video! You have opened my eyes, thank you.

JeanneP

Jack. How lucky you are to that that Park to walk around in. They do a beautiful job of Landscaping. We have a couple of places but nothing like yours.
Sounds like I am doing same as you.  Waiting until about 7:30PM to go outdoors. I tried  it at 11Am this morning and even though just 82 and not the 90s i came home in 30 min. To hot.

Jack, I enjoyed your video! Oglebay is really splendid! And the flowers are beautiful!
I enjoyed the video of Oglebay Resort & Conference Center, too! How lucky you are!!!

jackwv

Patricia, JeanneP, and Sachiko thank you, I am fortunate and was up there again this evening.
