Janie--It's not much warmer here than it is at your house.  I just checked, and it's 70° at my house.  I'll be checking for your cookies on Thursday.

Good Afternoon,

Great idea, Jane!  I'll look forward to fresh cookies in a few days.

I left this morning at 9:50 - and got home at 12:40.  After getting my hair done, I "covered the town" doing errands - not all that many, but none were "quick in and out".
After I had some lunch,  I got into the recliner to read.....and when I opened my eyes,  it was 4:15!!!!

Since I missed the noon news, I didn't know about the OKC airport shooting until I got on the internet just now and saw the short article on my Home Page.  Evening news will start in about 30 minutes and I'll just wait until then for more info.

Hope Everyfriend Everwhere has had/is having an Enjoyable Day.

June Drabek

I was up early and got all the exercises and reading done, then go s involved in doing catchup on things neglected, I forgot to come in with morning greetings. Went dow around noon for lunch, came home, fell asleep and woke up at 2:30. Now it is time to go down for balance and mobility class. I have missed three times now. Then on to get a bandage change on my leg, and finally home again.

Be happy, my dear ones.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

Callie--I always turn on the local early news (4 p.m. here)  and saw a shot segment about the OKC airport shooting.  Doing errands sure is tiring, isn't it?  Wednesdays are my day to do them, and I always come home worn out.

June--Is your leg healing good?

Click for Melbourne, Florida Forecast

June Drabek

Bis, yes the leg is healing nicely. Today she removed the original bandage and just put on small ones to keep the straight cut healed then she put medication on the outside of those. And gauze on top. she was going to leave it un-gauzed to dry but that made me uneasy, so she put a thin layer of gauze, and I told her I would take it off in the morning. I am such a restless sleeper, I feel more assured with the gauze bandage. So that's my story.

It felt good to be back exercising.

Callie, I am sorry to hear about the shooting in OKC. People have gone wild the past few years. We really have to be cautious in our outings and be aware of what is happening out side our own homes.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Denver

Just wanted to stop by to say hello.  It has been a busy day.  I did a few loads of laundry and tried to reorganize my pantry at the same time.  Of course it took much longer than I expected it too.

Tonight we went to Dave and Family for dinner and to celebrate Bob's Birthday.  The kiddos were so excited to make sure it was a fun time for all.

I lost my post, and this was all that I had saved.  Gurrr.

Did want to thank you all for your kind wishes for Bob's Birthday, as well as the ones asking about my dad.  This group is always there for us when needed.

The weather guessers are saying that we actually might get some precipitation starting tomorrow night... not expecting much at all, but we are sure are anxious as it has been 45 days since we have seen any storms....this is one crazy year.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Food For Thought

Anxiety-Free Living

By Sergei Sosedkin
Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6
Daily we are bombarded with bad news on the global, national, and local scales: economic crises, disasters, terrorism, corruption, crime, poverty. We also face personal stressors: family problems, health situations, ¬unpaid bills. The list goes on and on.
We seem to be poorly prepared for bad news. We are disturbed by potential negative outcomes. We turn anxious to the point of becoming physically ill. It’s no wonder anxiety is considered one of the most common nervous disorders of our time.
In Philippians, however, we read Paul’s blunt instruction not to be anxious about anything. How is that possible? Amazingly, the apostle gives this God-inspired advice while he is imprisoned!
For Paul, inner peace doesn’t come as a result of some relaxation technique, denial, or the power of positive thinking. The apostle fully trusts the power of God to protect him and give him peace. Uncertainty fuels anxiety, but if you are certain about your standing with God, you don’t have to be anxious. He is your strongest shield against difficult or unpleasant situations you might be facing.
Go ahead and thank God. And share with him, in heartfelt prayer, all your problems and anxieties. He hears and provides strength.
Lord, in this world filled with negative news, we are so thankful to find the good news of the Bible. Fill us with your peace and deliver us from anxiety. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good Morning Everyfriend!   That passage from Corinthians is one we should all heed.  We worry too much sometimes and forget that God is there to share the burden.

Thank you Joan, for making us aware of what we can do instead of worrying.

I was so tired last night that I went to bed early and didn't even stop by to say Good Night to my friends.   It's 32 º here right now and headed for a high of 55.  Not too bad for November.  I'll be off to Wally World again this morning.  And today is the local Farmers Market so we will be busy by 10.  Lots of people go to the market first and then come to WM on Wednesdays.

I hope everyfriend has a lovely day filled to the brim with whatever you love to do!  May God bless your day!

Good morning, Janie.  I am guilty of worrying too much and forgetting letting God share.  I hope all in your WM line are wearing smiles today.

It's errand day--so not sure where I will end up.

Shirley

Jane, I'll raise you 25° for today temps.... supposed to be another record breaker 80° & I really don't like it.

Joan, I thought of you this morning when fixing my egg.  Actually anyone that cooks their own breakfast might like this little dude.  https://www.nordicware.com/store/product_detail/eggs-n-muffin-breakfast-pan#.WCxIIxorIdUMy son gave me one some time ago & since I'm not too good about changes, I waited until he asked me a few times how I liked it.... and I LOVE it!  I butter the bottom (spray works but I like butter), crack an egg in the bottom & take a little plastic fork to scramble it.... in the microwave for 55 seconds & what I really like is a good pinch of shredded cheese & a little salsa over that, close the lid so the cheese melts... yum-yum.  Could eat out of the pan but I use a plate since I have a couple pieces of toast to go with my egg, one with grape jam.  I took it on my last camping trip & was so handy, quick & no mess, so I tried to get another at my grocery store (same Kroger chain my son found them)... none, so I checked with Amazon... shocked at the price range so my son checked his store again & got me 3 more like I asked.  He insisted he only paid $3. for them but I know how he adds & put $15 on his wife's lap sitting in the car & walked away.....  I'm going to give one to my daughter since she is always on the run but learned she has to have an egg for breakfast.

I need to get a nap before I hit the road this morning.  Woke up about 3:00 am & did some mental planning for the day & week so had breakfast & fed a couple cats that were sitting on the back step waiting for me to get up.  Expect the other 2 are waiting now, Callie at the front garage door & Tiger at the back.  It has been so nice they are wanting to stay out (fine with me), that ends Friday & looks like a freeze for us.

Amy

Good morning everyone

Good morning everyone, I had the MRI and it really got me this time. That hard table did not help. When aI got home I laid on the couch and stayed there till I went to bed. Wanted no TV or anything that made noise. I am not good at not moving anymore. Even when I post here I keep getting up amnd walking around. When we left the radiology it was raining. That did not help either. I think what got me was I went into the MRI machine head first this time, never did that before.

JOAN  darn I missed the lomond DD yesterday. Like your goodies for yesterday.

JACKIE  I know how frustrating it is not to be able to do what we used to do. There are several of us in here that are limited in what we can do. It is a horrible feeling.

LARRY  I heard on the news that a weather forecaster “wanna be” set some of the fires so he could get more followers on Facebook.  Don't know how tru that is but that would be a rotten thing for anyone to do.

JENNY  just heard on the news that we had over an inch of rain yesterday, we need that and more.

JOAN  I'll skip the tacos and have my oatmeal. Love the chuckles today. Anxiety-Free Living is just what I need. Copied to read often. Thank you for all today's goodies.

JANE  we do worry too much about things we can do nothing about.

SHIRLEY that “little dude” looks great. Wonder if I should order one. Would not have to stand at the stove to scramble an egg.

AMY  I have no idea what the temperature is here this morning. It is overcast here so it must be on the warm side.

LLOYD  good morning.

LLOYD, most of my worries are not for myself.  I've given those to God and I do what I can and forget what I can't.  I do still worry about my kids and my grandkids.  I know there's nothing I can do to change their lives and I do ask for God to watch over them but I still worry for them.

I'm off to get myself ready for work.  Enjoy your day Everyfriend!

Good morning, Gloria.  I know you are glad to have that MRI over with.  When will you get the results?  I'm going to get one of those egg things that Shirley told us about.  Still no rain here--so there are several wild fires.

Hi everyone.  It is a beautiful sunny and cool morning here in South Carolina.  However, I will stay inside as much as I can today as we are in a code red weather alert due to the smoke from the wild fires.  So far this morning it isn't too bad but yesterday afternoon it was very obvious.

Pat got a clear report from the dentist yesterday, which was indeed good news.  We checked out the pecan store but didn't buy any as they wanted $16/pound and Pat felt that was just too expensive as there are other alternatives.  Yesterday afternoon I went to Walmart and picked up our first online grocery order.  It went very well and that is sure the way to shop.  We just called 15 minutes before I expected to be there and then when I was parked in one of the designated spots along the side of the store I called to advise I was there.  A very nice young lady brought out the groceries and showed me each it.  The order was filled as requested and there was only one items they didn't have in stock in their meat department.  Later we went to Ruby Tuesday's for our evening meal.  They have a new and revised menu with our favorites still available.

This morning I got up early and after getting showered and dressed I went to the kitchen and fixed Pat's sausage muffins.  This evening is our Wednesday night dinner at church and this is the Thanksgiving traditional meal and Veterans from the spinal unit at the local VA hospital will be our guests.  Scott plans to get there 30 minutes early to help them get settled at the tables.  He will then come out to spend some time with us.  I just had a video call from my coffee drinking friends at McDonald's and got to see and speak to a number of them.  That was a pleasant surprise.

Amy, a quilt is a nice gift.

Joan, I was very satisfied with the online grocery shopping and it is likely to be our way of shopping for things I cannot get at Aldi's or COSTCO or when even thought becomes too much for me to handle.

Callie, that shooting at the OKC airport sounds like it was a real mess and it sounded like people were being kept on arriving planes and allowed to get off the flights.

Gloria, glad that MRI is over and was concerned it was going to be quite uncomfortable for you.  I hope you are feeling better today.  I think they are arresting some people who they think have set some of these fires.  The Governor of Georgia just issued a ban on all fireworks in the State as the danger of more fires is so great.

Joan, thank you yes, the first thing I done when I unpacked the carrier bag and outside box was hugged the ashes box close to my heart...

Good Morning Everyone!

Beautiful morning here.  Weather is 'SUPPOSE' to change Thursday night with possible showers and cooler weather to follow.  It will be downright cold in the mornings, for us, in the 40's or possible high 30's.
But it is November and suppose to be cold.

Tisie, that is a neat little dish.  Think I will order one, simple enough that even I can use it.

Had a fence guy come by yesterday and he says he can fix the gate at a very reasonable price.  Will be here next week.....

JoanFL

Larry--I am glad to read that your online grocery shopping from WM went so well.  Great that Pat got a clear report from the dentist.  $16 a pound for pecans is highway robbery.

Jackie-Vanilla--I'm sure you are glad to have Benji's ashes at home now.

LLoyd--Glad you were able to get the last bread machine WM had.  I'll look for some bread in the hidey hole when you get that machine figured out.

halkel--Here they are saying that this weekend our high temps are to be in the 60s--and that is very chilly for this area.  Bet you're glad to get that gate fixed at a reasonable price.

I spent the whole morning doing errands, and now I am worn out.  I can tell I will want a nap this afternoon.

Those egg and muffin cups are available at Amazon as an add-on item for 3.24 each.  I ordered two of them, had some other Christmas stuff my wife needed anyhow, like Mincemeat and Bisto.

Been a busy morning but wanted to stop & check on y'all.... and wanted to tell you that I sure didn't fine that little cooker that cheap on Amazon .... but I am not a good searcher.  My son found them at the grocery store which is part of the Kroger chain.  I have a spare, another for the RV & going to give my daughter one when she comes this week end.  I just whip the egg up in the cooker, with a plastic fork.

Gloria, if you like scrambled eggs I think this is better than any I've done in a skillet.... 55 seconds for one & my son cooks 2 in his for ... I think he said just over a minute.  I prefer a little cheese melted over & salsa if I have some on hand... AFTER cooking the egg but while it's still in the cooker so I can close the lid to let it melt.

Hold the fort, I've done all I can this morning & now for a hair trim & shower.... maybe a nap?

Jackie, sincere sympathy for the lump in your heart today. Keep telling yourself that he is NOT in pain anymore.

Happy Birthday to our Okie friends! It has been a colorful 109 years.

JoanFL

Janie--I tried to take a nap, but the phone rang just as I was dozing off.

Shirley--I ordered from Amazon because that way it's delivered to my door.
