Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Two mountain views. First clear and then in sepia.

Angel, your first one is outstanding, so well proportionate or should I say balanced. The spare framing suits it too.

cutie vector! Is it feasible to add him a little wing?   :uglystupid2: (that is supposed to mean 'thinking')

angelface555

Wings weren't in the lesson. He's fluffy and fuzzy, you just can't see them and that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  ::)

Marilyn

Such beautiful work ladies. It is hard for me to genuinely critique each image or any image for that matter, I just know what I think is awesome, lovely good work etc. to say.  Son plese forgive me if I don't get into detailing what I like about your images.

Marilyn

This one is for a challenge to make an image with  the place you would like to visit and put a lady in the image. So here is what I am up with for the challenge, No tutorial.

Marilyn, I also wondered about the building and thought perhaps it is sports related?

Bubble, I have no more superlatives for your past weeks' terrific graphics! Although, I really liked "Toothy Dream!" For its expressionistic style as well as the rest of the background!

Tomorrow Winni classes begin again and I need to decide between learning to script or learning more about filters. Any thoughts? I still have 27 lessons remaining out of the hundred for Basics.

Marilyn

I think that building is the sports arena, but other than that I don't know what it is. That lady , Bubble, is just a tube  form one of my files She looks Asian to me and is too young to be me. LOL.

Bubble Wow on Margatita. Love the colors.

I re-sent the last of my Blending lessons that were not approved before the Christmas break, and I sent in my Basic lesson. And decided against scripting and filters for now and applied for lessons in masks instead. So that is out of the way for today. My poor little fuzzy chick will go in later as you are only allowed one lesson at a time in Basics and have to wait for approval before sending in another. All the other lesson groups allow three at a time, daily.

Thanks Marilyn.

I was accepted into the masks class but have yet to meet my mod and be directed to the classes. I did finish and send in my third Basics lesson. It was interesting, another example of alpha channels only more sophisticated than my poor misaligned chick.

We started out with sections and frames on six layers, saved each one to alpha channels,  then saved it as a whole. We then reopened the file and proceeded to add to each of those six layers from the alpha channels plus three more in production as it were. Then sent in our finished product with a little text. A lot of repetition for a simple graphic but I learned something, didn't mess up,  ::)  and enjoyed the lesson and my result!

wow that sounds like a lot of finicky steps!  Good for you to have that patience!
I like the result.

Marilyn

Angel that sounds l.ike a lot of work and too many steps.

Bubble your Mineko 4 is fantastic. I especially love the colors and the blending of the bridge background in the center.  I think the woman distracts from the beauty of the background.

angelface555

I admit it sounds as if it is a lot of work, but it is like following a recipe where so much is done intuitively. And without the steps laid out so precisely. And now I actually understand how the alpha channel works and how I can use it in my own work and not simply buzz through it as part of someone else's tutorial. I like understanding how and why some things work. So many lessons present it as a fait accompli.

I agree, Marilyn, Bubble's Mineko 4 is fantastic and intricate! I love that tube in 88!

so_P_bubble

So you actually know how to create an alpha layer?  I never groped how it was done!
Bravo for your perseverance Angel.
