Hi Gals, This is going to be pretty much a slug day for me. I've been so busy for the past couple weeks.  I may throw in a load of laundry but that's it.   Church & SS tomorrow with a luncheon for us 70+ people afterwards. Always done very nicely.

John is feeling much better, but was certainly glad to get home. He had eaten very lightly. One day he was so weak, his roommate had to go out and get food and bring it in since he wasn't able to go out.  He was happy to have a big bowl of my beef veggy soup when he got home.

Jane, I know that all that plaster dust must have been a mess.  Lori had so much of that during her remodel and she was forever sweeping and mopping.  Glad it's all done now. You need to take a pic of your kitchen now that it is all finished.  I'm glad your friend's husband is better. He must have a good doctor.

Mary, your weekend is more exciting than ours.  We didn't get any rain yesterday. It all went north of us.  We're supposed to get a bunch tomorrow. We'll see.

JOy, thanks for posting the DO NOT CALL number.  I called and registered our number. I think I had done it several years ago, but I still get a bazillion calls.

Jeanne, I think you're wise to stay home while the marathon is going on.  Sean, my youngest grandson ran a half marathon a couple weeks ago. He ran one last year too. Braeden hadn't been training so he only ran the 8K. He ran a half marathon with his dad in Indy 3 or 4 yrs ago.  That was when most of the family ran to support leomyosarcoma, the cancer that Melanie was recovering from.  Brian ran a full marathon several years ago and our sil, Melanie's husband, ran the Chicago and the Boston marathons, but that was about 10 or so yrs ago.   The idea of running a marathon is beyond my comprehension. I'm not a runner nor ever was!

Sue, hope you got your oatmeal. So aggravating. I can have it on the list and still forget it. Have you gotten the path report on the polyps yet?  Hope all was okay.

I just started reading our next book club choice, THE FIRST PHONE CALL FROM HEAVEN by Mitch Albom.  A pretty light read, but I hope it will be good.

Hi Marilyn, Ginny, Darlene and anyone else who comes in.  Sharon

Marilyn

We are supposed to have showers this afternoon, yesterday was beautiful and warm. Today not so warm and windy.

Musoc practice went well but I am, not singing this sunday, That will be for another Sunday.

JeanneP

I think I can go out to the store now.  The Marathon in that area is over. Some that take 4 hours to do it will still be dragging in.  Some older one take hours more.  Great that the get in though.
As usual the winners were a runner from Kenya came in 2nd and the number one was from  another country close to there. Can't remember name now.
It is great how the ones with disabilities do so well. We have 3 from town who enter all over the world in the big ones.
Very windy today and so no one broke a record. Least the rain stopped. Only 47 deg though.
I think later today I am going to go and spend 2 hours at the Laundromat down the road. Use the big commercial washers and dryers and start washing all my rugs. Bedspreads all other things need doing. then start the Spring cleaning for sure.. Still need someone to come and do the Wood walls. Floors and carpets.  I get tired just thinking of doing things anymore.

I had a call from our SS teacher late yesterday afternoon.  He was working in his yard and was stung by something--maybe a bee and had an allergic reaction.  He asked me to teach the class this morning, so I had to look for my teacher's manual, some references, and my student book and get busy.  We only had 3 people there this morning, but it went OK.  Some of the class members have been attending a class on Presbyterianism by our 2 senior pastors (a husband and wife team in their mid-late 30's with 3 small children).  I'm anxious to hear what our classmates learned.

This afternoon I started making my old stand-by Oatmeal cookies--and I sure made a mess.  I followed the directions, but something went wrong and they did not bake well and I had to throw them all out, plus clean up my mess!

After that, sister Anne called and as usual we talked more than an hour.  Usually we go over the same old stuff--and today she's upset with her youngest daughter because of the restaurant business she and her husband have started recently.  I just listen and don't offer my opinion.  Safer that way!

My favorite Sunday evening program, "When Calls the Heart" is starting, so I'm going to sign off.  I hope you've had a good day and will sleep well, Buddies.

Monday Morning Greetings, Buddies!

We had a beautiful day yesterday and another today..from 50s to low 70s....ideal for me.

I'd won a breakfast buffet for 4 and 4 well Bloody Mary's at the Golf Club where we play bridge and where Ray and the group golf.  We took Gary and Kathy who leave this Thursday for a 6 week trip in their RV to TX and then to the east coast.  The buffet was less than thrilling.  I know we won't pay $10.95 per person to go back.

I need to run some errands this morning and then come back and finish laundry.  When Ray gets home from golf, we may tackle washing down the screened in porch.

Ray had an appt with kidney doc today, but on Friday they called to cancel and can't now get appt to July.  Something must be wrong with the Doc...to wait so long to cancel, it obviously wasn't preplanned and then new appts out to June and July.

Hope your Monday is a good one.

I went to SS & church yesterday + a luncheon afterwards for the 70+ members of the congregation.  John didn't feel up to going and didn't want to risk infecting anyone, so the gal in charge of the luncheon fixed up a boxed lunch for me to take home to him. That meant I didn't have to cook last night.  I had the last of my veggie soup for my dinner.  John was well enough though to play bridge today.

I didn't do much else yesterday. I did spend an hour on the phone talking to Lori, but that was it.  I taped "When Calls the Heart" and will watch it tonight. I did get our plane reservations for July to Brian's. I requested a wheelchair. Maybe I will be well enough by then to cancel it, but at least it will be available.  They wanted to charge us 29.95 more to ensure that we sat together.  For a 1.5 hr flight, it sure wasn't worth it.  They really are gauging people now.

We got a lot of rain yesterday, but I don't know how much. It rained more or less all day and is still very cloudy and have had a little this morning.  We need it so badly, that even though it is depressing, it's good.

Sue, sorry about your cookies. Glad your SS class went well.  Your phone calls with Anne sound much like mine with Melanie & Lori, always long-winded.

Jeanne, hope you got all your stuff done at the laundromat.  My cleaning girl and I are gradually getting cabinets and drawers cleaned out. My rugs are done. I will have my girl wash the inside windows after we have the house pressure washed.  We delay that till the pollen is finished, which should be soon.

My azaleas out front have been spectacular this year and the purple verbena just accented them.  Sue, how did your azaleas do after the lack of watering?  I know you were worried about them.

Mary, how's your squirrel?  I imagine with all the rain, you haven't seen much of him.

Hi to Marilyn, Darlene, and Ginny and anyone else who pops in.  Sharon

SCFSue

Good morning, Buddies.  I've spent the morning making more Swedish oatmeal cookies--which were a flop yesterday.  I think I must have left out the baking powder--they were terrible.  I have several dozen ready to go to Ard and Dave's whenever Tim comes today or tomorrow.  I also have 2 dozen to take to my once a month bridge club tomorrow.  I also have several bags of small candy bars--like Snickers and Milky Ways.  Most people bring those when it's their turn.  So I'm good to go tomorrow at 11:00 when Brownie and Sandra pick me up--we purchase lunch from the retirement community where we play and then we play bridge.

Jane, I'm sorry to hear about the disappointing buffet at your club and also the cancellation for Ray's appointment.  You're probably right about the doctor being ill--although he/she might be on a trip--however that doesn't seem likely.  How often does Ray usually see him?

Sharon, my azaleas in the back look awful.  No water except for several rains.  I'm planning to have the neighbor's yard man cut them way back next time he comes.  The oldest azaleas (which were here when I moved in) are in the front yard and on a slope, so any rain we had during the summer and this spring has kept them in pretty good shape and they have bloomed.  I did plant some new ones out there when I moved in and they didn't bloom.  I had a university student plant them for me and we didn't leave enough space between each plant--so I'll have to have them moved apart in the fall.

Mary, any birds at your feeder today?  I quit feeding the birds after my fall, although I do try to keep my water bowl filled for them.  My neighbor's cats come into my yard (or did when I kept the feeder full) and sat there waiting for an easy dinner, so I've given up on that!

I'm looking forward to a nice nap this afternoon.  I really need to go out for a walk now, but I think I'll wait until later.

Have a nice day, Buddies.
Sue

maryz

Looks like I didn't write anything yesterday - oops.  What it did here was rain, rain, and more rain.  In the 24 hours from about 7 pm Saturday until yesterday evening, we got 5"of rain!  The schools were delayed opening today for two hours so they could see any standing water on the roads or trees down, etc.  Lots of problems in the low areas, but not at my place.  There were some leaks in this old roof (due to be replaced this year sometime), even in my hall, so things to deal with.

Sharon, the squirrel was particularly obnoxious during the rain yesterday.  He'd get up on the railing and watch to see if I was going to get up, and then he'd actually wait until I picked up the hose before he ran off.  He'd get to a nearby tree and hide on the other side of it.  Pretty funny, actually - but the stream from the hose will reach it, and I can spray on it enough to get him to run off out of sight.

Sue, glad the new batch of cookies turned out well - good ones I'm sure.  The birds were really out at the feeders yesterday, even in the rain.  I get tufted titmouse, black-capped chickadees, Carolina wrens, gold-and purple finches, an occasional cardinal, and the bluebirds.  I put the hummingbird feeder out this morning since a couple of friends have mentioned seeing hummers around. They are fun to watch.

jane, sorry the buffet was worth what you paid for it - free.  At least you got to try it without shelling out a lot of money.  Too bad about the kidney doctor.  I saw my orthopedist this morning and he said all looks well with my knee.  Next appointment is in 6 months, and he told me that he's planning to retire at the end of the year.  So now I'll have to find someplace else to go with my orthopedic problems.  Or just hope I don't have any more...Right!

Jeanne, you're so active with your cleaning and cooking activities.   ;D  I'm much too lazy for that sort of stuff. I know you enjoy it, though.

I did have some excitement this morning.  While I was eating my yogurt before going to swimming, I saw a mouse scurry through the living room! And then when I went into the bathroom, there was another one drowned in the toilet - guess he went in for water and couldn't get out.  Needless to say, he got a quick "burial at sea". They don't freak me out, but I don't want them, of course. Never had anything like that here before!  And I quickly reported it.  I guess they came in because of all the rain and people working in the ceilings fixing leaks.

I hope that's all the excitement for a while.  I've got duplicate tonight, and am hoping for some decent cards - that I won't screw up too badly.

The story about the squirrel is so funny.  A friend's husband had a story about a squirrel that had me laughing so hard I almost had a stomach ache. Squirrel's can be so entertaining  ;D.

Life is much the same.  I have been a slug.

Marilyn

Good evening everyone. Been a busy day and will be a busy week, Keith sees the nurse practioner tomorrow for follow up on the latest PSA test. the next time he sees a Dr it will be in august at my dr.  Then on Wednesday he goes back to the eye dr for another peripheral vision test. Thursday is the Furry Friends luncheon and General meeting, Friday is the Hospice volunteer appreciation luncheon. Lots of eating this week.

I will be doing another solo at church soon this time my pastor wants me to do this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nJ6wQpLmuo. No music practice this week as the church is getting stuff ready for a rummage sale on Saturday.

Mary what a sneaky squirrel, oh and a mouse, the mouse has to go.

SharonE

Hi Gals,  Sue, I'm glad the cookies turned out well and that the azaleas in front are nice at least. Yes, pruning back the ones in back is probably a good idea.  It can be done now. Have fun at cards tomorrow.

Mary, it sounds like Mr. Squirrel has decided he's your #1 entertainment!   ;)  Glad you got your hummer feeder up. I love watching them.  Good luck on getting rid of the mice. Yuck. Good luck in duplicate!  We got lots of rain too, probably between 3 & 5 ".  Finally clearing today. My birds are really active too.  I have all the ones you have + a few more.

Marilyn, you do have a busy week. I hope all of Keith's tests come out okay.  Good luck with your solo.  I haven't checked it out yet.

Ginny, maybe you can go out and soak up some sun on the deck to make you feel more energetic.

I've stripped the bed and put our sheets and Judy's in to wash and also have organized my pills for the week.  I have a couple phone calls to make and need to do my nails, but that's all the constructive work for today.  Tomorrow is my bridge/luncheon group and then I have an appt with my neurologist at 3:00 to see if he can up my meds to control my tremor better.  The landscaper is coming Thursday to put in a couple new shrubs out in back to replace some that died and also will put in some verbena in front of the shrubs and then mulch it all.

Hopefully, the sun will come out this afternoon.  Have a nice day, everyone.  Sharon

What a night!  Ray and I were both tired and went to bed early.  At 11:30 he woke up and I was awake and asked how he was.  He replied "miserable" and I reached over to touch him and he was very warm.  I found a thermometer and his temp was 102.  He took some tylenol and another 2 at 2:30 am.  His arm was all red this morning where he'd had a cut.  So, while his temp was down, we went to Dbq where we could get into Acute Care and see an MD.  He did a blood test and prescribed an antibiotic and then called Ray's own doc there to have them get him an appt early next week to check the arm.  Needless to say, we're both tired and not much is going to get done today.

Rain is also on the radar for the next 5 days or so, and the old joints know it.

Enough complaining from me....

Have a good Tuesday!

jane

maryz

So sorry to hear about Ray, jane.  I hope the antibiotics can knock the infection quickly.

Sharon, hope you have a good visit with the neurologist.  I know your yard is going to look great.

Ginny Ann, I agree with Sharon - get out and soak up some sunshine.  It helps us feel so much better.

Marilyn, I hope all is well with Keith's PSA test.  Glad he's getting it done.

It's been a gorgeous day here today.  I've had such a lovely afternoon.  I sat out on the deck, watching the birds and knitting.  I managed to find some music on my cell phone and listened to chamber music along with the chirping.  Plus I saw the first hummingbird scout checking out the nectar in the feeder.  Just a lovely quiet time.

I hope all the Buddies are having a good day, too.

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear about Ray. I do hope the antibiotic clears it all up.  Scary to wake up in the middle of the night to something like that.  I hope you're napping this afternoon.

Mary, sounds like you've had a lovely afternoon on your deck.

I haven't done a lot. I just finished scrolling through some scanned pics of Brian to send to Traecy for his retirement video.

Sharon

SCFSue

Jane, I'm sorry to hear about Ray and hope he's feeling better this evening and is able to sleep well tonight.  Keep us informed.  We care.

Sharon, my goodness, is Brian retiring already--or will retire soon?  My goodness, time sure flies!  Congratulations to him--do they have plans for where they'll retire?

Mary, you had a lovely afternoon outside today.  What could be nicer with chamber music and hummingbirds!  Lucky you.

Marilyn, Keith is busy with doctors this week.  I hope he gets some good news.  You are busy, too, with things you enjoy--I'm sure you and your church will enjoy the new solo.

GinnyAnn, good to see your post tonight--I'm glad you came in to laugh about the squirrel--and hope you come back soon.

I miss MaryPage.  Does anyone hear from her since she stopped posting here?

Sleep well, Buddies.

Sue, Brian is finishing 25 yrs in the AF, so yes, it's time.  They are moving back to southern Illinois near Scott AFB. They liked it there and it has a good school system for Sean who still has 3 yrs in HS. He has been promised a contract job with Scott AFB but is still looking for something else in the general area.  Scott can't officially offer him a contract till his discharge in Oct even though the retirement ceremony is in July. I guess the rest of the time is accrued leave time. Doesn't your Bill live near there too?

I just got back from bridge. I came in 2nd, but had a few really dud hands in addition to some good ones. Made one small slam but didn't bid it because my partner bid a close-out 3NT, so thought she didn't have much.  She's always doing something like that though.  Had fun anyway.

Had a message when I got home to call the ortho and schedule another MRI!  I have no idea why, but he said at no charge, so I have scheduled that for Monday and see him on Wed.

I'm leaving shortly to go to the neurologist.  Hi to all.  Sharon

jane

Bridge was fun and some good hands and some duds, as always seems to be the case.

Still cold and windy here, though rain has stopped, it's still damp feeling out there.

jane

jane

Brrrrrr....35 degrees, overcast, and windy....where did Spring go?  Frost warnings overnight...and now rain coming for the weekend.  Sounds like reading and knitting time to me with the fireplace on!  Feels like Nov, not end of April.

The antibiotics seem to be working on Ray's arm....whew! What a week and worry.

I get a haircut at noon and that may perk me up.    :D

Jane

maryz

jane, glad to hear Ray is improving.  Did you ever figure out what caused the infection?  Sorry for your bad weather.  We've had 2" of rain overnight and this morning.  Then it's supposed to clear off and get up to near 90 tomorrow.  What happened to spring, indeed??!

Sharon, I was surprised too to hear that Brian is retiring.  Glad they're getting plans made.  How did your visit with the neurologist go?  Seems like all we do is go to doctors.

Happy Thursday, Buddies!
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

Other than for my physicals either 6 monthly or yearly for normal things I very seldem went to doctors.  But this past 2 month it seems I have been to one or another weekly.  Nothing serious but just little things happening. Other than ear cleaning in May I think I am not through until September. I hope.
I never complain about spending time getting good check up

On Tues I spoke with my Eldest Daughter who let me know she was visiting all night with her friend who was in Emergency last 2 days.  She thought she had the flu. All of them were together for the Easter dinner which this ldy made. She went into a coma and then on all the equipment. Drs. then said she was brain dead had pneumonia. Lots of things had shut down and could last 3 days or just take off the machine. Looks like the waited as today it is in my paper that she died Tuesday night. I saw her once in awhile but not a friend as they live in another town. Still shocked as she was only 61. Had been a Director of Nursing for past 15 years and just retired. Daughter has not yet called me but I am sure she is so close and both husbands get together all the time Hers being Chief of Police just retired and my SIL  retired same time after 32 years Sheriff dept. Same town.
Yesterday I called a Lawyers office here in town and made a appointment for next week to finely get my estate put in order of some kind. Not done a thing and its a mess.  Being going to do it for a few years.  ONe just doesn't know from day to day how things can change so fast.
JeanneP

maryz

Sorry to hear about your daughter's friend, Jeanne.  But I'm glad it pushed you to get your "affairs" in order and planned for.  It's a good object lesson for all of us.
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

Sharon, yes, Bill still lives in Glen Carbon--a suburb near SIUE where he is now a Dean and wife Dawn works as another Dean's executive secretary.  They love it there and also plan to stay on when they retire.  It's not far from Scott AFB.  Andy, Dawn's son is 25 now and is looking for a small house to buy when he can find one he can afford.  He has a good job with some kind of computer work.

Jane, I can't imagine weather that cold in April.  I've been in Alabama too long!  We're having spring like days, not too warm nor too chilly.  I hope you see some warmer weather soon.  Is your kitchen work completed?  I'm looking forward to pictures.

Mary, what was your squirrel up to today?  I guess you were away playing bridge without much time to watch his antics.

Jeanne, you're wise to get your affairs in order--it helps your children when things are spelled out.  I updated my will recently with a new to me lawyer here.  I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's friend.

I made a large pot of vegetable soup this morning and took a quart down to my neighbor, Brownie.  She loves to have a visit PLUS get some soup.  She eats out a lot and loves getting soup.

Have a nice evening, Buddies.

jane, the sink is really pretty.  I know you'll enjoy it.

Sue, the last couple of days the squirrel has just showed up twice in a day - once in the morning.  He checks to see if I'm watching, and then runs off when I pick up the hose.  Then he'll come again in the late afternoon to check again.  So funny.

But my menagerie seems to be growing.  Yesterday and today, I've a little chipmunk run across the deck.  And then this afternoon, I thought I saw the squirrel beside the deck.  But when I looked closer, it was a little bunny rabbit.  I guess all these critters are living under my deck.   :smitten:
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

SharonE

Jane, your sink, countertop, and faucet all look great.  What is the sink made of? Will it scratch?  It is really pretty.  Brrrr on your temps. We're to be in the mid 80's today!

Sue, I know Brownie was appreciative of your soup.  I have often shared my soups with Ms Frances or with another neighbor who used to live next door.  I didn't realize Bill was a Dean now.  Nice.  We've only been to that area once or twice but it seems very nice and family friendly.

Jeanne, I, too, am sorry for your daughter's loss, but glad you are going to get your affairs in order.  At our ages, it is really important.  I think ours are all in order, but we've been thinking about having them looked over again in case any laws have changed that affect it.

Mary, I think your deck must be one of your favorite places in your new place.  I love having flowers, birds and "critters" around.

John worked outside yesterday and got my back pots ready for me to plant. Now I just need to get some more flowers.  I'd like to go Sunday after church but that is Frances' birthday and I still haven't heard whether Nancy is going to have anyone other than family there or not. Originally, she was planning to have a number of her friends but she hasn't gotten back to me.  I think a family party is better for Frances. She is really in bad shape.

I did get my meds upped at the neurologist's yesterday, but they are making me sleepy.

I need to get my summer clothes out and put away the winter cords, sweaters. That's my goal for today. Hope I can get it done.

Hi to all. Hope it's a nice day where you are.  Sharon

jane

It's COLD (30s-low 40s), rainy and windy today and to continue through next WED!!

Sharon: the sink is quartz...and not supposed to stain or scratch, etc.  I opted to pay more for that, rather than the other choice which was acrylic.  It's undermounted as you could see, and I love that.  I also have more counter space than with the old, ceramic overmounted one.  The only problem I had was some small globs of a sticky, transparent gel on the counter near the sink.  The guy we ordered from stopped last night and he thought it was glue from where they'd glued in the sink and he removed the globs, so I'm 100% happy now.

We and another couple are going to a neighboring town tonight to hear the Navy Sea Chanters choral group.  Our friends Gary and Kathy heard them last night in the Quad Cities as they leave for a submarine reunion in Missouri and Gary called this morning to say they'd be in a neighboring town tonight and they were well worth the trip.  We had to go over to get the tickets and we'll go out to supper with our other Fri.night couple and then we'll drive us all over. Our friends are 85 ad 87 and he doesn't like to drive at night, so we can do that.  Luckily, the location is the new high school there and it's easy to find.

Nothing much else going on today...too yucky out.  I'm finishing up a pair of socks but need to work on it slowly as my hands are cramping and hurting...darn weather!!

ane

maryz

Sharon, glad you got the meds increased.  If it works for you, maybe the sleepiness reaction will wear off as your body becomes more accustomed to the dosage.

jane, I'd LOVE to hear the guys singing Sea Chanties.  That sounds like a great evening.

The duplicate game this afternoon was a "Mentor/Mentee" game, with the Mentees bringing a salad lunch to share.  Lunch was great, of course.  There were about 20 or so tables and two "flights".  My Mentor was a very nice lady with ~1700 MP.  We didn't play many hands, so did lots of defense.  I managed to not screw anything too badly.  And we came in 2nd in our group, with 52.70% and earned 0.63 MP.  I'm very pleased - obviously.

Granddaughter Sarah says that my squirrel is Grandpa (John) coming to torment me.  :2funny:  She just might be right.

Happy weekend, Buddies!

I played bridge on Wednesday and by the time I fixed and ate my supper, I was pooped, so didn't turn my computer on.  Yesterday I made soup and took some down to Brownie and visited for about 45 minutes and it was news time, so I missed posting yesterday, too.  I am OK, but find myself tiring easily and just sort of let things go when I'm tired.

Tim came over while I was shopping at Kroger and put my new round table together.  I need to get an umbrella for the table--the warehouse didn't have one and refunded my payment for that.  He was getting ready to leave when my friend dropped me off with the groceries and he brought them in--including her grocery bag.  She'd set it down on the ground when we got mine out of her trunk and evidently forgot them.  If she doesn't come by tomorrow, I'll call her and take them to her on Sunday.  She sits in front of me at the worship service.  I'll put her  bacon in the small fridge next to our secretary's office.

Jane, your new sink/counter top is beautiful.  Your workers did a great job of installing it--and the colors are great.  I know you'll enjoy working in that lovely area.

Mary, I've had chuckles hearing about your squirrel.  I have one that likes to sit on the railing of my desk and leave crumbs from whatever he's eating--usually nuts and things he  finds in my yard.  We have so many squirrels in the neighborhood so there's no getting rid of them.  I have chipmunks living under my deck, too.  But they were here before I moved in and built the deck, so we just have to co-exist!

Jeanne, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's friend.  Good for you for putting your estate in order.  I remade my will after Bob died, but last fall I made an appointment with a local lawyer and revised it further--to make it clearer as to how the estate will be divided, including my investments.

I'm watching PBS news and will watch Washington Week now that it's going off.  I'll probably watch a movie later--no NBA basketball tonight.

Have a nice evening, Buddies.

WONDERFUL news on Sarah and the Bar Exam!!

Funny about John the Squirrel coming back to get your attention!!! :2funny:

Jeanne...I saw your post in another medical area, but I think you may have intended it for here.  Hope your raincoat kept you dry.  We're having days of rain here, too...

The Sea Chanters Navy choral group was good last night.  http://www.navyband.navy.mil/sea_chanters.html

Kay and John came here and then Ray took us all to the restaurant and then on to the town 20 miles or so west of us for the concert in their new High School.  What a lovely building and an auditorium that seats 700.  There were very few empty seats...one here and a couple elsewhere.  It was a solid 1.5 hours with no intermission, and the whole group...maybe 20 men and women and a three piece instrumental accompaniment and then small groups broken off from the large one.  Check and see if they ever come to your area. They tend to play i high school auditoriums and the tickets are free.  They are nearing the end of their Midwest Tour...western Iowa, Nebraska and Laramie, WY wind up this year's tour.

Not much going on here...the ever present laundry and then I'll watch some NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.  My team, The Chicago Blackhawks are out, so I'm now a Pittsburg Penguin supporter...because of that wonderful Sidney Crosby...he's something else on the ice.
