Hi everyone on this Sunday morning.  Pat is planning on going to Sunday School and Church with me this morning.  We will then stop somewhere for our main meal of the day.  I will rest this afternoon, listen to Don't radio program as he returns live to the air after his sabbatical, and then watch the conclusion of the golf match.  Yesterday evening we lost our Internet signal for several hours but it is fixed this morning. I did stay home all day yesterday and enjoyed it.

Callie, I saw this morning that there had been many tornadoes, seven deaths and a large number of people injured.  Glad those tornadoes missed your area.

Sandy, hard to believe that Fe is already one year old.  Hope you enjoyed the party yesterday.  I like the saying at the end of your postings.

Amy, good for your husband in getting the chocolate he likes.

June, I do just try to take life as it comes.  I so often find that what I thought was important days or years ago I can hardly remember and it really wasn't that important.  Of course, there are several things and events I will never forget but just try to stay in today and enjoy these moments.

Jane, hope you are able to get the Ultra scan done this morning for Annie.

Shirley, hope next weekend will be better for your trip to Missouri.  It sounds like you were fortunate not to have already been on your way with the storms moving across Missouri.

Hal, hope your blood pressure behaves itself today.

Lloyd, it sure sounds like it is soggy there.  I know what that black loam mud is like in Missouri.  We don't have that here as the ground is sand and clay.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well the good Lord blessed us with some rain last night or should I say early this morning.  Don't know how much, haven't checked the rain gauge.   Lots of thunder and lighting to go with it, but not really severe stuff.

Check the old BP this morning 119/80, perfect.  Go figure.  My daughter says I don't drink enough water, which could very well be true.

Well got to finish getting ready for church, hope everyone has a great day.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, well I slept good last night. My son was here yesterday and he put my AC in. It was nice and cool in my apartment and I think I fell asleep as my head hit the pillow. Feel much better after a good sleep. Turned the TV on and heard about the tornadoes last night. Terrible with loss of lives.

LLOYD  I would like your 48°. Anything over 70 here and it gets humid and that I cannot stand.

JANE  you have a wonderful SIL Not many around like that. I know you will enjoy the visit from your Maryland daughter and SIL.

AMY  that was tried before I moved here and they even got together and hired a lawyer.  Did no good. Guess the company that owns several senior buildings only cares about the $$ she saves them.

LARRY  the manager has an AC installed under her office window so she can turn it on whenever she wants. She also has a heater in her office. I did notice that 3 new tenants have their AC's installed so now I have mine, too. This was her rule, just like no window AC's, they distract from the beauty of the building. Those on the back/north side can have the window ones, she is like no one I ever knew before. I had to get a portable one when I moved here. I left 2 window ones at my son's one was new but his BIL who moved into my apartment bought them from me. We pay our electricity, not the company. They do supply the heat. MY ac is also a heater that can warm up in here and does not need the hose in the window for that. I know when it is freezing out I have to put the thermostat up. For a 10 year old building the windows are drafty. The last few years I know I feel the cold more, I am not as mobile as I used to be so feel it more. Those who live on the second floor hardly ever turn their heat on. That floor is hot and they are forbidden to open windows in the winter. Even the hallways are warmer than we keep our apartments. They do have AC's at either end of the hallways.

CAROL  snow? Icy roads? I had to read that a couple of times and check the date you posted. Then remembered where you live. It was up in the 80's here yesterday.

CALLIE  the heat here yesterday broke a record for the date. I did see about those storms when I turned on the TV this morning.

SANDY  I still like the window AC's better. To me the portable ones are not all that portable. If I could I would bring it into the bedroom at night. Not that easy to roll into place. Only thing I like is that it does not block as much light coming in. Hard to believe Fe is 1 year already.

AMY  those chocolate covered cherries, are they the cream or liquid centers? I love the liquid ones, could go through a pound of those by myself. The creamy centers I find too sweet. Glad you liked those funnies enough to share.

MARY ANN  I got those from a friend who lives in Montana. I think I know the one you mentioned that could fit a politician, maybe more than one. Yesterday felt like mid summer here.

JUNE  the owners are the ones who picked her for this job. She just had no consideration for the elderly. She will get there one day and I hope she will be treated the way she treat those in this building. She may be book smart but no common sense. There are several of us here that are on her radar right now. In another moth oit will be some others. I think she has picked on everyone at one time or other.

JANE  I agree April is a good month to be born, aren't we lucky? I hope the vet ER visit with Annie does not result in bad news.

SHIRLEY  hope the weather will be better to travel next week.

HAL  hope you take it easy today.  My Mom had high blood pressure and that was back when there were not the meds we have today. One of my brothers had it too.

LLOYD  with all that mud you have a goo reason to stay in and take it easy.

AMY  have a great day of rest.

JANE  I can understand why you want to take Annie in the daylight hours. I know how it feels to ask someone to drive you. Oh goody I will head to the hidey hole for a piece of your chocolate birthday cake. Thanks, chocolate cake is my favorite.

LLOYD  I love those old Westerns on youtube.

LARRY  today and this moment are really all we have. Who knows what could happen in the next minute?

HAL  your daughter is right. So many do not drink enough water, I know I do.

JOAN  if you are looking in I pray you will be strong enough to go home soon and come in here even if you only say Hello.

Happy Sunday everyone !!!!!!

Amy, thank you, I had a perfect nights sleep and a happy morning.Have been down to our Chapel for a non-denominational service. We have various speakers, most of them Pastors or former Pastors of various denominations speak to us, plus the hymn singing we do. I love it. I am a born and bred Episcopalian, but this service certainly broadens my horizon. Always leaves me seeking to investigate further. The computer is an excellent teacher.

Hal, I am concerned over your sudden drop in blood pressure. I have sent you an email to snoop around over the causes.

Janie, I am sure Annie is delighted over the delay in the visit to the Vet. How nice they allow walk in exams. never heard of that before. Enjoy your kids while the opportunity is there my dear one.

Larry, I am so happy to read that Pat is feeling well enough to join you at Church. We had such a good service today, I was entranced with our speaker. The message I received through the long sermon was the word NOW. And that is telling me, do not regret yesterdays, do not expect tomorrows, This is the day the Lord has made, and this is the NOW. I could stop breathing at any second, so rejoice in this NOW the Lord has placed you in. I makes me supremely happy, and ready to live it. I hope this makes sense to you and others…it is simply a present I was given, and unwrapping a present with loved ones is a special joy.

Gloria, I would certainly want to know the names of the owners. They are the ones receiving my rent money…not the manager. The owner would welcome a message from a rent payer if they found something was amiss with the Manager. You could do it as a tenant…no personal name involved on your part.

Don…..welcome home dear friend. I know you will have some lonely hours, but your lovely Bubble is only a computer away, so write often and she will do the same, I know.

Now I have to scoot downstairs or I will be late for lunch. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

After a long, busy, delightful and stressful week, I'm very tired.  So I'm going to take a nap.  Both daughters who do not live here are on their way home now.  And it's been delightful having them here.

I'm a bit stressed out about Annie's situation.  I drove up to the Pet Emergency Center where the only Ultra Scan machine in the area is located and they told me it would be a 2+ hour wait and maybe more if another emergency came in.  It seems that what you have to do is check in and then wait until they've seen all the emergencies and then you can get the scan.  I didn't leave her because they don't do that.  I just have to keep trying.

Now I'm going to go take a nap because my plan is to try to get there by 6 a.m.. tomorrow morning and maybe they'll be wrapping up and can do the scan.  I sure wish there was another possibility!

Enjoy the rest of your day my friends!

Sandy, what did you do?  Being your right arm is not good - assuming you are right handed.

Many years ago (1983) I broke my left leg above the ankle.  That was no picnic, but I could drive.

Good luck in recovering; I know it will take a while.

Sandy, oh....I am so sad thinking of your poor arm being broken. I pray it was a clean break, and will heal quickly. I'm thankful you have a loving daughter nearby, and other daughters that can pitch in to help you while healing. I know typing will be clumsy, but I pray someone will keep us informed of your progress.

Had a very tasty lunch. Flank steak...fork tender. plus sweet potatoes, asparagus, braised spinach, and I have a slice of coconut cream pie in my refrigerator. Then home to nap and read....of course. It turned warm this afternoon. I had the A/C on for a short time.

I'm sorry we are not hearing anything from our Bis/Joan, and Jenny has not been in for  few days now either. I pray they are both healing, and happy.

Sandy, I am so sorry to hear of this, hope your arm heals fast for you. I also hope you get  good nights sleep..no fun trying to find a comfy position with a broken arm :(

Good morning everyone

Heavy down pour at the moment, looks to be another all day rain here.

Daughter in love had a great weekend picking out fabrics for different quilts. Today I need to tidy up and go into town to pay my garage bill.

Sandy, I hope you at least got some sleep..

Lloyd, you're going to have to find some zz's later on after appointment.

Jane, I hope you got Annie in and scanned this morning.

Better put an egg in my boot and beat it.

JaneS

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I hope your day got off to a better start than mine did.

I set the alarm and got up and called the emergency Pet Center and asked if I got there before 6:30 could they do the ultra scan.  She say "no way, too many emergencies to finish up.  Annie's jaw is hurting and the vet won't do the dental surgery until I get the ultra scan and I can't get the ultra scan because it isn't an emergency.  What is it if not an emergency?  I'm so frustrated and stressed out that I'm feeling a bit ill myself.  I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Sandy, I know this doesn't sound as bad as a broken arm and I do feel for you.  I've been down that road and it isn't a picnic.  I wish you well and I'll be thinking of you.

Good Morning Everyone!

JaneS, can you get your vet to call them and tell them it is an emergency, if that tooth goes really bad she is going to be one sick puppy.

Sun is bright and shiny here, check rain gauge yesterday morning and we didn't get as much rain as I thought, less than half an inch.  But it sure looks springtime out.

Nothing on the agenda today, no appointments.

Hope all of you have a great day.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, cloudy and cooler this morning. Had thunderstorms yesterday and a lot of rain again. Of course because I have a appointment Thursday and Friday rain is in the forecast for both days.

DON  I started listening and enjoying your program yesterday till the thunderstorms moved in. I always shut down the PC and the TV in a thunderstorm.

JUNE  she was picked by the owners and it was tried before I moved here. She picked on someone who got a lawyer and she backed off. I try staying away from her but seems like she has picked on everyone who lives here. Found out yesterday that another one is moving out the end of the month.

JANE  good luck getting Annie in for a scan today.

SANDY  ouch, hope it is not too bad. Can you type with just your left hand? I know it is hard but I learned when I had the carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand.

AMY  now that the AC in up and running it cooled off after yesterday's storms. I can run it as a fan or dehumidifier, so it will be used anyway.

JANE  the vet ER sounds as bad as all ER's.

HAL  no idea how much rain we got yesterday but it sure was pouring for some time.

Hi everyone.  We have an overcast morning with a fairly good possibility of rain sometime today. I plan on attending my meeting at noon as have missed the last two weeks.  On the way I will stop at Costco for two or three items and to return and item Pat bought there that wasn't the right item.  Pat is planning on attending a luncheon for the Church circles at eleven this morning.  Fortunately we have a quart of very good beef vegetable soup in the refrigerator that we will have for our dinner tonight.

Yesterday we did attend Sunday School and Church and then stopped for lunch at a place we enjoy.  I came home and turned on Don's classical music program while I rested.

*Alert for non-golf fans: just skip the rest of this paragraph if you are not a fan. When I got up I turned on the PGA golf match, which was toward the end of a six hour rain delay, and the match didn't end until almost 9 pm.  At 6 pm CBS cut away from the golf but it continued on the Golf Channel and there we also got to see the long ending to the women's golf tournament that went to 5 or 6 playoff holes between two women and the men's where the team from Aiken, SC, which is the county seat of where I live, are in a playoff today   after one the the Aiken players had chipped in an eagle on the 18th hole to go ahead one stroke but the other team tied and thus the playoff today.

Hal, glad the blood pressure was back in line.  Were you able to watch the finish of the golf matches yesterday on the Golf Channel?

Gloria, glad you can now be cool in your apartment and get decent rest.  I see your manager is a do as I say and not as I do sort of person.  Do you have to empty the water tray as the A/C runs or does it expel through the window?

Don, I enjoyed your program yesterday.  Glad you are safely back home.

June, glad you are enjoying your Chapel services.  We can always learn more if we keep an open mind.

JaneS, I see your frustration continues regarding the scan for Annie.  It sounds like a catch 22 situation. Do you have a couple of days off from work to recover from your delightful weekend with your family?

Amy, I have never heard that expression about putting an egg in your boot and beat it.  It gave me a chuckle.

JaneS

HAL, I have a call in to the vet and I'm hoping that she will be able to light a fire under them.  Part of my problem is that I can't just go there and sit and wait because it gets dark and then I can't drive home.  There are hindrances all around me.  She told me it might be as much as 2 1/2 hours to wait on Sunday and then if another emergency came in, they would push me back.

Life isn't easy after 80 but we keep hanging on!

I am just coming in here to say, I really do not have anyone to talk to right now, just my cyber friends.  I am so upset.  My nephew who was coming to visit me from Calif. was in a bad accident on the way. He is the one who had to come here to NY, as he had a traffic ticket that was 35 years old. He was told he had to come in person to take care of it.
On the way out here a large truck hit him.  He had been in the hospital a few days, and just got a chance to call me himeslf, His brother did not want to call me until they knew how he was going to be.  He has a crushed chest, broken arm and other injuries. they have operated once.  He was pulled out of the car, and it burned up. Now everyone will understand, why I hate to answer the phone, First was my mother was killed by a car train accident, then my two sons.  At lest Keith is alive. So sorry I have unburden my self on all of you.

Gloria de, I'm so sorry to hear your bad news.  I hope your nephew gets along OK.  If he is in a hospital, where is he?  Probably not in California.

My mother died from injuries from an auto accident and her sister died instantly in another auto accident, so I know how the news hit you.

Prayer really does work Gloria, and God knows how important your nephew is to you and the rest of his family. Big hugs !
