Sounds miserable, Sandy.  Don't feel bad, just this week my daughter (61) fell / tripped coming in the door from the garage & was so embarrassed.  (Yes, I did look for that darn CD on both sides of the step to see if she dropped it there).  I am pretty sure I was carrying it.  Did you get  bruises on other parts of your body?  Sure is inconvenient using one hand. Hope you heal fast.

Amy, I did check the CD player but since the case is missing, I'm sure the CD is in it.  Have a feeling it fell off the cabinet into the trash bag below.  I did not check it out before trash was picked up, could be long gone.

Daughter & I plan to do some running tomorrow, her only free day this week.  She is cooking supper for her son & family tonight & probably her daughter will come over as well.  She is a good cook, much better than her mother.

Have a great evening, everyone.  It is beautiful here but supposed to get rain during the night & tomorrow (I think I said that before  :-[ ).  Hope to get to bed early since I can't sleep in tomorrow.  I did get my hair cut today, doesn't look bad.  I needed to shape it up before the week end, if it gets too hot, the hair gets realllllly short.  I don't cut it quite as often as years ago but do snip nearly every time I wash it.

Sandy, it sounds like you are facing your broken arm as you have the other mis-fortunes in your life. I am proud of you girl.

Tisie, You too...I find so much inspiration in reading about all of my buddies here. I am so proud to be a member of this our cyber family.

My dear son Gary spent hours with me today, working on my computers. My desk top is showing it's age now but I don't want to go to a new one until it is absolutely necessary. I am no longer into adapting to change.

I'm going to scoot down to the library and get a few new novels and return some I have read. Then it will be off to an early bed. Have a peaceful night dear hearts. Hugs, Love and lots of hopeful answers to our prayers.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

Good morning everyone..
Yesterday was a productive day for me. I hung the new curtains, found my cutting desk(it was under a pile of fabric, and I got some sewing in.  Today I am heading back to the basement to tidy up some more in my sewing room.

Larry prayers for your son and you and your wife also. This is a stress that you don't need either after just having heart problems. I hope they find out what caused his problem and can correct it soon.

Shirley while cleaning my cutting desk 4 X 8 feet I found some fabric I had forgotten that I bought. Now if I can only find a bag of thread and a stitch ripper.....

Sandy, OWWW, that made my stomach queasy reading about your hand going backwards! I hope you are a fast healer and can soon be out of the split. Do you have to wear it for 6 weeks?

Hal, I hope the tornado didn't come your way.You certainly don't need to deal with that.

Gloria, finally no rain here  now if we could get some heat in the sun, temp is only 32°F this morning.

June I bet you enjoyed each moment Gary was there with you. I am with you, I don't like change, at times it isn't always for the better. I believe in "If it isn't broke, don't fix it"

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Amy and everyone else. Amy i sure wish some how you had turned that rain back to open sea and not this way. yep we only had one day of nice sun and you guessed it liquid sun again this morning. oh well better than drought, at least the grass is growing. yard never got dry enough to mow in one day. it is too muddy to mow and too many nice flour;s to let the cattle in it. don't understand why my eyes are so dry with all of this humidy. eye drops don't fix them. have a great day everyone,

Lloyd

Gloria

Good morning everyone, the sun is shining, nice day in store.

AMY  your post of The Great Physician is the first thing I see this morning. I already copied it. Thanks. At one time night driving did not bother me but then I was much younger. When I learned to drive I kept the hood ornament kind of lined up with the right side of the road.

LARRY  I pray your son will be alright. I know the window AC's eo drip out the window.

LLOYD I have dry eyes and my eye doctor has me taking eye drops twice a day.  That was OK for awhile but now it makes my eyes itchy so I stopped. Have an appointment coming up with him soon.

JOAN  it is wonderful to see you.  I pray you will be home soon. No matter how well they treat you being in your own home is best. You are missed by everyone. Praying for you every day.

HAL  we had rain in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday, both days I have doctors to see. Now tomorrow is to be nice and Friday a lot of heavy rain. My son will take me home on Friday so will not have to wait out in the rain.

SHIRLEY  seeing your classmate now would mean more to him than every one showing up for a wake later.

JUNE  there are only a few of us that followed Joan here from her Busy Nest. Jenny, you and me are the only ones I think.

SANDY  at least you did not break a hip  and have to be in a hospital for some time. Have to look at the bright side, right?

AMY  it was in the low 40's when I first checked this morning but should warm nice with the sunshine.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's not raining here this morning and that's BIG news!  My SIL is coming by this evening to mow my grass again.  He's a good guy!

GLORIA what about me?  I guess I've become invisible again.  I do that very well!  I hung out in Bis Busy Nest and then I found my way here.  Please don't forget me!

This afternoon, I take my good neighbor across the street to Physical Therapy,  She had surgery on her shoulder and can't drive.  Wednesday is the only day her hubby can't take her and I'm happy that I can fill in.  They are so good to me.  He's the one who clears my driveway all winter.

Gloria de...you never said where your nephew is in PA.  Wonder if he's nearby.

Amy, I understand about "finding" your cutting table.  I have to do that with my desk occasionally.  Something disappears and I end up going through everything to find it.  Also, my husband followed me to my sewing room once and while talking to me, he looked around and then commented, "You probably have enough thread in here to strangle yourself".  I told him I never thought of that but that I needed to buy a certain shade of blue that I needed to finish what I was working on...which was a pair of pajama pants for him for Christmas.

LARRY, please keep us informed about Scott!  We are all praying for his recovery.

I guess I better get started on my day.  We seem to be getting started later and later every day.  I have to give Annie a pill on an empty stomach and the wait at least an hour before feeding them.  It's not easy to hold off two hungry dogs for an hour.

I wish you all a good day filled with whatever you wish it to be.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well don't know what the weather has in store for us today.  The weather guessers are all over the place.  East Texas is catching it this morning with large hair and tornado warnings just North of Houston.  Dry and cloudy here.

Lloyd I saw on the news that you are having flooding in Mo.  And up around the Great Lakes more rain.

The wife is in Del Rio, went down yesterday with my oldest daughter and her husband for my youngest daughters husbands birthday.  Surprise party, wonder how it went, good I hope.

I have the coffee on, who wants some.  It should be ready by the time you get here.

Gloria, the doctor gave me some pills the other day and it makes my mouth so dry I cant spit, but seems to be doing the job they were designed for.

Everyone have a great day.

Mary Ann

When I got up at 5:45 am, the temperature was 29 degrees.  I couldn't believe it.  Now, at 9:15 am, we are at 42 degrees, much better.  I've showered and washed my hair so I'm set for a while.  I'm drying off now.  Tom is OTB with a friend from Petoskey.  My hair isn't large enough to bother the Texas storms, Hal.

Radar shows a clear day, but there is rain ahead the next couple of days.  Our pond is quite high but nothing for me to worry about - yet.

I saw some pictures of the MO floods and I also saw pictures of the flood rescue in Texas.  Unbelievable.  (I think it was Texas, wasn't it?)

Gloria, I know I peeked in Biz' Nest at times, but I wasn't a Regular.  I was more into some of the states, whether or not I belonged.

Mary Ann

JaneS you pushed all that rain down on me, you should turn around and blow it back to Amy. Have a good day. Have a great day.

Good Morning,

Gloria, I'm another one who followed Joan from the Nest to the Soda Shoppe.  I kinda thought we were in the majority....maybe not.

Dreary drizzly day in central Oklahoma.  There was a small puddle on the top of the trash bin but my newspaper wasn't wet.
The rest of the week and on into next week are supposed to be sunny and warm.  Looking forward to that!

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

larryhanna

Hi everyone on another clear and pleasant morning here in South Carolina.  We are suppose to get into the mid 80's this afternoon.  The good news is that Scott didn't have a heart attack and they found nothing that could be attributed to the pain and disorientation he was experiencing.  In fact, he told hi mother than the hospital doctor had implied he wasn't having the pain he was having.  He will see his cardiologist as soon as he can get in to see her.

I did see the cardiologist yesterday.  She took me off of one of the medicines I have taken for years, ordered a bunch of blood tests and a limited Echo to see how symmetrically the walls of the heart are, i.e., are they functioning together or at different times.  She also gave me a prescription for nitro patches to use if needed.  I have to go back a week from Friday to see her to see how I am doing without the stopped medicine and find the results of the Echo. Nothing one the schedule for today unless Scott and Jennifer want to eat dinner at the Church. I did cancel our reservations but know there would be no problem if we showed up as there are always those planned for that don't show up plus there is always plenty of food.

Joan, good to see your posting and I know you are anxious to be able to get well enough to leave that place.

Hal, sure hope those storms missed you last night.  Texas, as well as other States have sure been hit hard the last few days with heavy rains and tornadoes.  It sounds like they have a terrible flood around St. Louis.

Shirley, it sounds like your classmate is a realist and accepts whatever life has in store for him.  Keeping his right mind is a blessing.  Hope you don't experience any flooding as the snows melt.

June, fortunately it wasn't our son's heart this time.  He knows his heart isn't healthy and must always be suspicious of angina. I have no plans of ever owning another desktop computer as laptops work so well and will do everything a desktop will do.  I hope you are liking your laptop and the more you use it the more you will likely grow to enjoy using it.

Amy, you sounds like my wife in always needing to straighten up her sewing area.  She has two large tables in her sewing room.  She has bed risers under her cutting table which makes sit easier for her to cut the fabric.  Her sewing has now taken over our sun room as well.

JaneS, nice you have found something to help your neighbor as that expresses your appreciation for his help to you.

Sandy, thanks for your thoughts for my family.  Hope you heal quickly.

Shirley, I bet you are too modest about your cooking as from what you have said in the past it sounds like you are a great cook.

JaneS

I forgot to say this earlier about dry eyes...

I've inadvertently found something that seems to help mine.  I don't think I drink enough water through the day and I've begun to have a glass of water near me during the evening.  On the days I forget to do this, my eyes are extremely dry the next morning and even the eye drops don't seem to help.  Just a suggestion....maybe you all don't drink enough water?  It's worth a try!

Back from a very enlightening Bible study. This young man is like my own Gary in his teaching mannerisms. I really enjoy him.

I was a slow starter this morning...I should be truthful and say I am a slow starter every morning now. I did read all your messages before I had to get downstairs, so I will go back and re-read and reply where I feel the urge.

Janie dear heart…water is VERY essential to our over-all health, so I hope you are going to make an effort to drink more each day. Could you keep a bottle of it near your cash register, and when there is a lull…drink water. Your actual work at will use up more liquid so you won;t have to go to the bathroom more often. When you are home, get on the computer and ask about how much you need each day, and why water is so important to your health.

Larry, your Cardiologist sounds like a very good doctor. Is it possible for your son to use her for his doctor too ? There was a reason for his pain and disorientation and it should not be treated lightly. Our bodies are such valuable and interesting "machines". Most people give their cars more attention  than they do their bodies. I am still adjusting to my laptop Larry. It is fine for two programs that my son installed…Sr. Net and email, but I have to learn to install other things…..and the print is not as easy to read and my eyesight will not improve, unfortunately..

Callie, I find that most of us here were on Bis' Nest. Some never came back after the big change over, and I wonder if some that used to be involved with making cards etc. are now members here.

Mary Ann, I am so glad you join us here in the S.S. Your posts are always so interesting, and though I don't always post in B. and T. I do read it daily.

Hal, Texas is having very unsettled weather and some of the disasters were heart breaking.  I pray you will keep safe, and all the others in that fine State too. My deceased Aunt worked in McAllen as a hotel manager for a number of years. I miss her still, and she has been gone for many years.

Amy, it was pure delight having my son here. He brought me two more cartons of and energy drink the Dr. recommended.  And he worked for over an hour on my computer. Not much luck there, but the computer is around 9 years old, and tired..like me.

I think I have caught up on answering your messages, so I will get ready to go down for lunch. Nothing else that I must attend today, so it is up to me…read and rest or get out and visit with the residents…knowing me…it will be "home from lunch..onto recliner with book, and a nice long nap". The back here later. Bye.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Lindancer

Sunny and quite cool. Just home from the hematologist. Have to go back again next week, my blood count is low again, I need the procrit shot again, but Medicare said I first have to have the iron checked. They will know then if I have to have and iron infusion first.

Jane, Keiths brother live in Mt. Joy, Pa. his accident is about 2 hours aways from there. It is my understanding that it happen on his way here to NY.

Larry, I understand what you are going through. My cardiologist has me cutting on pill in half, and taken me off the one for Atril fibrillation. It might be why my shortness of breath has gotten worse. He also put me on another one every other day. Oh! so much fun getting old.

SO GOOD TO SEE A HELLO FROM YOU, BIS.  Continued thoughts and prayers for you dear friend.  We know you are doing your best to get stronger

A bit late getting in this evening.

We arrived home safe and sound from Austin late yesterday afternoon. Our ride was late getting to us,but it turned out OK.  All was fine at our home and not a bit of that foot of snow from Saturday was in sight.

Today we went to a grand opening of a new grocery store.  It is a huge place with clothing and much more.  It is not where I do my weekly shopping but is quite near us just the same.

GLORIA de, my heart aches for you after reading about your nephew being in that terrible car accident.  I will certainly keep him and you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he can still get to visit you in the near future.

SANDY,  I read about your fall and feel so bad for you.  A break like that is very painful and I do wish you a speedy recovery.

AMY, thank you for sharing The Great Physician.

JANIE, so glad to read you now have a appointment time for the scan and your daughter will be taking you and Annie.  I hope you can get the dental work don asap.

LARRY, I am sorry to read that Scott is having more health concerns.  I do hope you were all able to go to the Church meal tonight.

JUNE, it is always nice to read about your day.  Happy that your Gary was there to see you.

SHIRLEY, it seems your cd might be lost forever....sorry.  It is sad to read about your classmate.

MARYANN, burrr...that morning temperature is a bit on the chilly side....it was quite cool here this morning as well.  We enjoyed several outstanding days in Austin.....clear, warm and very enjoyable. It is to warm up here this weekend too.  When we left the house it was raining then immediately turned to a grapple and toned stuff white quickly....then it cleared up.  Spring is a crazy time of the year weather wise.

Gloria, I am sure glad your son was able to get your A/C unit installed.  You sure could have used it sooner.

Have a good evening, EVERYFRIEND.

Good morning everyone..

The weather guesser said we are in for a lot of rain...hmmm Lloyd, did you push it all this way? I know a lot of wells will sigh with relief of added water. We are good here.

I managed to finish another quilt yesterday so on to the next one. Will follow hubby in as his van is going in for an oil change this morning. If weather permits I might get in a bit of gardening before the rain.

June, you do know the story of the tortoise and the hare and slow and steady always wins the race

I had better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Everyfriend!  It's cold this morning...down in the low forties and the predicted high for today is only 60.  But that's Spring in central Pa.  If you don't like it, tomorrow will be different.

JUNE, I already know that we need lots of water and we are allowed to have a bottle of water at our station at work.  It's at home that I sometimes forget and I was offering that as a possibility for those who have a dry eye problem.

I have a totally free day today until I pick up Kiran at 5 and we go to the library.  I wonder how I'll waste it?

Make today a good one!

Hi everyone.  According tot he forecast we will be getting some rain, possibility some heavy thunderstorms, later today.  Pat has a doctor's appointment at 10:30 with her GP as she needs a paper prescription for her pain medication.  She had refills on her previous prescription but didn't realize the prescription was good for only 3 months since it contains a narcotic type drug.  We plan on eating at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant on our way home and then won't need to worry about a main meal this evening.

Yesterday was a quiet day.  Scott and Jennifer did join me at the Church for our Wednesday night dinner.  It was very well attended as it was Taco Night and also because following the meal they were having a Lip Sync contest.  We did not stay for that event.  Scott and Jennifer then came out to the house.  Scott was feeling better yesterday and plans on going back to work this evening.

Janet, it sounds like a lot of food prices will go up with the loss of so much of the wheat crop.  I remember we had to replant corn crops a few years when the initial planting was ruined in some fashion.  Scott had several tests including a new test that is able to make a 360 degree picture of the heart.  It sounds like it should eliminate the need for so many heart caths.  They also did a test to look at his brain as he was experiencing some disorientation.  All the tests came back negative, thankfully.  He was very displeased with the doctor who works for the hospital who told him he wasn't experiencing the pain he was still having when they sent him home.  I am sure Beth is tired of where she is but she certainly couldn't care for herself and needs the help from the home.

JaneS, I had a GP tell me a few years back that around 70% of the older patients he sees complaining for not feeling well have dehydration.  Glad you drinking more water.  I have had to cut back on my water consumption as my heart doctor said it puts additional strain on the heart and kidney's if you drink too much.  She said I should have at least 32 ounces and not more than 64.  I do like ice and usually keep some cubes in my glass with a little water and that helps spread out the intake of water over a longer time period.

June, my cardiologist has a very fine reputation here and I really like her.  She is personable and spends the time with you that is needed.  Scott and Pat also see her.  She didn't actually see Scott in the hospital this time but conferred with the ER doctor and hospital doctor.  He will see her the middle of next week.  Have you asked Gary if he can increase the size of the font for you.

deAngel, having outside persons like at Medicare and other insurers telling the doctors what they must do must be very aggravating to the doctors.  Sorry to see that your blood count is low again and you face more shots.  Right now I am not having to cut any pills in half although did that for quite a few years.

Jenny, glad to see you are safely back in your home and the snow left before you got back.  Did you find any bargains at the grocery store grand opening?

JaneS, I don't consider my day wasted if I have done what I wanted to do even though it may have accomplished little to nothing.

Gloria

JANE  so sorry, I thought I remembered you more from the Missouri discussion. I just pulled out the composite that Bunnie did of those who posted in the Nest. Are you are the one in the upper right corner. BTW  if anyone is invisible it is me.

HAL  no rain here today but the temperature dropped last night and I turned on the heat when I got up this morning. I see the pain doctor today and get a shot in my back. Will make it easier to sit in the dentist chair tomorrow. Glad my son will pick me up there tomorrow so will not have to wait for a ride.

MARY ANN  last night on the weather report the weather guesser said it would bet cold last night but not down to freezing.

CALLIE   guess I better check that picture out, and try putting names to the faces again.

JANE  I always have a tumbler of water with me and refill it often. My doctor told me it was too much time at the computer. He said that we do not blink enough when we are looking at the screen. I see him next week I think and I have stopped the restasis drops, it was making my eyes very itchy and after putting the drops in it belt like I had sand in my eyes.

JENNY glad you had no snow greeting you when you got home.

AMY  tomorrow afternoon we are in for some heavy rain. I am beginning to think I should invest in a rain slicker, the kind fishermen use.

Have a good day.

Gloria, my optometrist told me the same thing about being at the computer and not blinking my eyes.  She also mentioned TV.  So I try to take a break from both the computer and TV every so often.  It helps, but she also has given me some drops to relieve the dry feeling.

Mary Ann

CallieOK

Good Morning,

Gloria,  I'm not sure I was ever in one of those composite pictures - probably because I don't always put my picture with my posts.

I'm sure my eyes are dry because of too much time looking at a screen - particularly since I began reading e-books on my Tablet.
I read somewhere about the "20-20-20 rule":    Every 20 minutes look at something 20 feet away from the screen for 20 seconds.
However,  I don't remember to do so often enough to know if it works.    ;)

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

JaneS

LARRY, you are one hundred percent correct!  "Waste" was a poor choice of a word on my part.  Like you, if I accomplish what I should on any given day, I don't consider it "wasted".  I should have asked how I'd "while away the day".

So far, I've cleaned up the kitchen, started the dishwasher and washed up the floor in the kitchen and the entry hall.  If I do nothing else except pick up Kiran and go to the library, that will be sufficient.  Oh yes, since I'm not dressed yet, I better think about getting out of my jammies before I go to pick up Kiran.  The whole busload of kids and their waiting parents might think I was a bit senile if I went in my jammies.

This is an "off" day for me. Woke up all tired out, so I am just going to stay home and let the body rest. Each year they have a Nurses Recommitment Day, honoring our Nurses here at Rowntree Gardens. I really wanted to attend that at one o'clock, but I have already promised my body a day of rest, so I will stick to that plan.

Amy…thank you dear, I am doing my best to switch to tortoise mode, and the body is assuring me it is time.

I am going to heat up a bowl of New England Clam chowder and that will be my main meal of the day. I have plenty of fruit and juices and health drinks on hand so there is no reason not to stick to "patient" plan.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Well I went to bible study and men's breakfast this morning and enjoyed every minute of it.  Came away kinda confused on the "seventy-seven" but maybe I will finally figure it out. ???

June, Gloria, the cold (?) front came through last night and not a drop of rain for us.  It all went East of us.  I was hoping for at least a good shower.  Today is really nice, cool and lots of sun and will just get in the 80's.

I think a good many of us are guilty of not drinking enough water.  I plead guilty and get lectures about it all the time.

Anyhow, got some chores to take care of so will talk to you guys later.

June Drabek

I am glad I stayed home today..the body needed it I guess. Did some reading, just loafed. I'll heat up the rest of my soup for supper and have some fruit and hope for a better day tomorrow. A friend sent me some addresses for the Booth Bros. they are Gospel singers. I enjoyed listening to them. Different style of music than I usually hear, but they were inspiring..at least they perked me up.

It has really been quiet in here today. I hope all of you are well and happy.

All of our local channels are showing the memorial for the tornado that hit Greensburg, KS 10 years ago tonight.... just a short while after Bobbie went through with her dog, January.  95% of the town was destroyed, killed quite a few.  Every year I drive through on the highway and see how it has built back.  They didn't whine about what happened, just pulled together & helped each other.  A very heart warming story.

JaneS

Have a long day tomorrow so I probably won't be around here much.  I work my 4 hours and then my daughter will pick me up to take Annie to her appointment in State College.  I'm thinking we probably won't be back until around 6.  And just for a little excitement on the road, it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow.

Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!
