Good morning from a cool but sunny Interior. Nothing new here other than Farrah not eating as she 's trying to have treats only. I have simply left her food in the dish as its dry kibble and suspended all treats. I think this is a move that has been a long time coming as she eats a very small amount daily.

Our mid-seventies have come and gone with the temperatures back into the mid-sixties with lows in the low forties. We are also having rain at night, but just enough to dampen the ground. If this is to be the fourth cool summer in a row, I will be rather cranky! Marilyne, I know just how Winnie feels!

Jeanne, nice that your outlets are fixed for you. When ones here don't work, I have to reset by popping a middle panel on the switch in or out.

MaryAnn enjoy your time again in Indianapolis! Weddings are nice to attend at times. At one time, with my two and being part of several more, I considered myself quite an expert, but no longer. Now I try to avoid going and just send a nice gift. Many of the invitations I receive nowadays are more blatant requests for funds or largess than actual commitments ceremonies. I wrote earlier about one couple using a go fund me site to secure honeymoon funds.

I have held or been a part of many garage sales. My older sister at one time had quite a lucrative sideline, reselling yard sale items on eBay and craigslist. She used to find several items such as full English sterling teas sets sold cheaply out of ignorance.

I'm not familiar with military planes. But in the fifties and early sixties, some of the bases here, on Armed Forces Day, would bus the town's children into join in their festivities and tour the hangers to see planes, tanks, and other equipment. Afterward, we always got those small ice creams with the wooden spoons which were a special treat.

Not anymore as you can no longer get on any of the bases. You can ride a Borough Bus through to a further destination. However, you cannot take any photos and if the bus is stopped or boarded, you can be asked to produce an ID or be searched or even taken off the bus if they so choose. The military, after 9/11 had removed access and several homeowners who lived past some of the bases sued to recover access to their own homes and or land. The Borough Bus and special passes for home and land owners were the results of that legal action.

Gloria, I'm glad to read that an old school friend was able to pick him up and drive your nephew. Hopefully, his trials with the tickets and the identity theft are now over.  He has a long period of recovery ahead of him and I dearly wish he will have some form of both legal and medical compensation! I really feel that cases of identity theft should be treated legally as some form of assault!

Every first and third Saturday of the month, I volunteer with my wheeled cart, to carry food boxes from the first floor common room to the apartments of disabled tenants. I also sometimes still assist in needed paperwork. This process has been drawn out and added unnecessary delays to many tenants due to identity theft. I do not see how you can figure a bedridden man in his seventies as someone attempting to cash in. However, I am not a bureaucrat and I'm sure nowadays that every I must be dotted and every T crossed because of those attempting to prey on others.

I am sure I've explained this before, but probably a long time ago.  My cousin, who was married to Jim, had three sons.  Steve, the middle son, died many years ago, Tom, who I usually stay with, never married, and Bob, the oldest, did marry and after the birth of a daughter, with his wife, had quads - two boys, two girls.  It is one of the quad girls who is being married Friday.  She probably is the prettiest of the three girls - blond with light blue eyes and a light complexion.  She will be a beautiful bride.  Her two sisters are maids of honor and the two brothers are groomsmen.  There will be others in the bridal party, but I don't know them.  Bob, Tom and the two brothers are all about 6'5" tall.  If they put out their arms, I fit under the arms with space to spare.

Tom and Bob's cousin from Vancouver Island, Canada, is coming with her two children.  I am not sure whether I'll be at Tom's or the oldest of Bob's daughters (the single and first birth).  I am pleased to be invited as they really are a second family to me.  I expect to go to the reception and have a meal but someone will take me to wherever I stay before festivities are over.

Tom has just left for The Score where members of his HS graduating class will get together.  The Score is a sports bar and Tom is not a drinker so he buys one beer and nurses it all evening.  He won't stay too late because he's going to the store for a few things I need before I leave Tuesday.  The Score and the store are in the same shopping complex - strip mall.  I asked Tom if he wanted to take my debit card and he said he would like it - and he'd use it at The Score too, in fact, he'd treat everyone!!!  He won't!

Marilyn, Kendrick prefers the cool cement of the front stoop, except I won't let him out there.  He wriggles on the wooden deck, trying to stay in the cooler areas.  I just went to the living room and sat beside the pad that Annie fixed for him.  The cat was sleeping in his bed but he knows when I sit there, I'll pet him if he jumps up on the pad - which he did.  He loves to have his neck massaged and I know he was in seventh heaven!

My hearing aid batteries have both told me they've died.  How convenient at the end of the day!

Mary Ann

June Drabek

Mary Ann, will Tom or Annie take care of Kendrick while you are away. He is going to miss you for sure, girl. We will too.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Mary Ann

June, I think for the most part that Tom will take care of Kendrick; taking care of him means replenishing his food and water at night.  I did ask Annie to come over a couple of times to give the cat company, but she is likely to forget.  Yes, the cat will miss me.  In a way, I'll miss him, but I will be busy.  The last time I was gone, Tom said the cat would come to him and "meow", something he almost never does.  I'll be gone three days and two half days and I've been gone longer than that.  He will survive!

Thanks for asking.

Mary Ann

Marilyne

Mary Ann - I haven't been posting in Norm's B&T for very long - (maybe just a little over six months?) - so I didn't know that you had quads in your extended family! That is really special, and nice that there are two boys and two girls. I've known a couple of sets of triplets, but have never even seen any quads. (Not that I was aware of anyway.)  What are their names?  I'll be interested in hearing all about the wedding.

I'm sure Kendrick will miss you while you're gone - especially if he is going to be alone in the house a lot.  I hope Annie comes by to give him a little attention.  Winnie doesn't sleep or sit in the full sunshine.  He has two or three favorite shady spots, where he spends most of the day.  I think he just enjoys the feel of the outside warmth.  I also keep a medium size crock of water, in the shade of my large camelia, so he has plenty of water any time he feels like it.

Patricia - you mentioned last week, that you felt like Farrah needed more play time with you, or even a feline companion.  I really think cats are adaptable to their environment, and that she is very happy to be in that apartment with only you.  Just my opinion of course, but I don't think most established cats take kindly to the introduction of a new cat.  Your apartment is her territory now.  My older daughter and gr-daughter, who were here earlier in the week, have an indoor only cat, in their small two bedroom apartment.  Jerry has never been outside since they've lived there, and is perfectly happy.  When they were here this week, they have a trusted neighbor, who looks in on him and feeds him.  If they plan a longer visit, such as at Christmas , they bring him in a cat carrier, and he spends the time in our basement. (Which is large and comfortable.)  We tried seeing if he and Winnie could become friends, but it was a disaster, so now we keep them separated, or they leave Jerry at home.

I think this will be a great occasion and know you will enjoy Indianapolis with your second family.
WWhat a great picture it will be of the wedding party.  Enjoy.

larryhanna

Hi everyone.  I was expecting it to be rainy this morning and today but once again the forecast has been changed to only a 50% chance this afternoon but higher tonight.  We should get into the high 80's this afternoon.  Today should be a fairly quiet day.  I do need to get to Aldi's for some vegetables as the bin is empty.  I may attend my Monday noon meeting if I have the energy.  That will be it for today.

We did go to Sunday School and Church yesterday.  It was graduation Sunday and the high school and college graduates were honored and two of the seniors gave testimonies, in place of the sermon, about growing up in our Church.  Each year scholarships are awarded by the ladies Circles and some individual scholarship endowments.  They awarded 27 separate scholarships. All of the students plan on attending college.  Pat and I then went to a place we like and shared a very large club sandwich for lunch and each took a nice long nap when we got home.  I ended the afternoon by watching the conclusion of the golf match, which ended up regulation in a tie and required they play an additional hole.

Marilyne, I think cats just love to be warm and in the sun.  We didn't make it into the 90's yesterday although our humidity sure did.

Patricia, I expect Farrah will eat enough to sustain her when she gets hungry enough.  I guess I am too practical and see things from a male perspective but have often thought rather than spends thousands of dollar on lavish weddings and receptions that less spent and a nice cash gift from parents to help the couple get started would be good.  Guess I had better get off this subject.  I haven't thought about those little cups of ice cream with the little wooden spoons for many years.  We still often get the little cups of ice cream but no wooden spoons at buffets.

Joan, I think Joy was referring to Joan L. who takes care of the Soda Shoppe Discussion and who has been very ill and now is in the process to moving to where her children live.

Mary Ann, it sounds like that will be a big wedding.  I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Mary Ann

Larry, I did not see the end of the golf match as about 4 pm they switched to another match and I didn't see the end of that one either.  I think when they switched, there were either four leaders or four in second place.  Usually when they switch matches, they go to either CBS or NBC but they didn't this time.  The one they switched to was the Regions match and Bernhard Lenger won that.

I'm not sure Kendrick likes the sun so much as the coolness of the concrete when he tries to slip out the front door.  The deck is out of the slider and is of treated wood and he is more likely to stay in the shade instead of the sun.  He is nearly four years old now and while young enough to have a playmate, I don't think he would appreciate a cat playmate.  At this stage, he'd rather have me.

Thank you, Junee, I am sure I'll have a good time at the wedding.

Marilyne, I am sure you'll hear about the wedding after I get back home.  I'm not known for being quiet!  The quads have an older sister and for them to be born, the parents used a fertility program GIFT (I don't know what it stands for).  I don't remember how many weeks Janey went, but it was 32 or 33 and her doctor wanted her to go one more week and Janey said NO!  In order of birth they are Ted, Claire, Mary and Steve.  I think they weighed between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 pounds (much of my memory doesn't last 26 years - their age).  All graduated from Indiana University and all are smart.  Claire, the bride-to-be is an RN at an Indy hospital.  I think Mary teaches and Ted is a fireman.  I don't know what Steve does, but jobs he's had have taken him to Australia and New Zealand.  Steve's girl friend is from Grand Rapids and my Tom used to work for her grandfather and with her father - part time when he was going to seminary.  Small world but I have not met her.  While I think Claire's wedding will be the only one I'll go to in Indy, if Steve and Molly marry here, I'd try to go.  When you're in your 90s, you don't make too many travel plans.

I think I've covered something from everyone and I might even have another message that someone posted something!  As I so often say - another book.

Mary Ann

wjoan

Larry, thanks.  Have missed Joan L.  She is a lovely person.  Taught me a lot in SeniorNet.  Sorry to hear she is ill.

Joy

Larry,  after your message above, and you mentioned  me,  I had to go back and see what I had written.

I guess I didn't realize that I wasn't in the "Soda Shoppe" , which the other Joan, (Bis) is the moderator. I do get mixed up sometime with these two message boards.

WJoan,  I had noticed that you posted a "??" and was wondering what that meant.   As Larry mentioned,  the other Joan moderates the Soda Shoppe and she has been very ill and is moving to Alabama to be closer to her family.

Whew!!  Got that all straightened out,  I hope.

Have a good day.

Joy
BIG BOX

angelface555

Good morning from a rainy, damp, noisy Interior. It is noisy because of the construction crew, while up further a few narrow streets, is still digging up pavement and power lines and replacing poles. It is in the mid-sixties with rain forecast at least through Thursday.  :'(

I want a companion for Farrah because while she is athletic and agile, I am not. I do not want her to become lazy and fat. I want her to remain healthy and active even if it is just in five rooms. I see her wanting to play, wanting me to be as active and alert as she is. But I am not. A cat that leaps four and five feet in the air. One who tumbles about and whose curiosity knows no bounds, should not end up overweight and couch bound.

Nothing new to report here. Shopping, cleaning, and  cocktails later this afternoon is about it. I hope everyone is well and that their day is going well. Mine, at eight AM, is just beginning.

I wanted to prepare everyone. And please hold back your excitement. But, tomorrow, the twentythird, is "Lucky Penny Day" Just think of all the possibilities!    :D

Lindancer

Good afternoon, it is raining and very cool.  I haved turn the heat on. :o

MaryAnn, I am sure you will have a lovely time. I hope you have good traveling weather.

Patricia & Marilyn, Taffy, is and indoor cat, but she does not get along with other cats.A couple of years ago, I was in the hospital for a week, then rehab for three weeks. My name who calls herself Catlady, took Taffy to her house, where she has 2 cats, also kept her another week while I got my act together. Taffy got along with one, but was fighting with the other all time. Taffy acted as boss.

Larry, I agree with you, When my Mark got married, he and Linda wanted the whole wedding in the apple orchard. I am the one who said they had to get married in church, although Linda said it would not dare rain on her wedding. The morning we got up, the fog was so thick you could have cut it, but by noon. It was a real country wedding. One of my coworkers at the hospital had  a brother who owned a restaurant, he lent us the warming plates, and hot table, and she served. The undertaker brought over chairs, a carpenter friend made a dance floor and an Indian friend from the reservation was DJ By the way I made all the flower center pieces for 7 umbrella tables  which neighbors and friends contributed too.

Mary Ann

Gloria, even though you wanted Mark's wedding in a church, what they had sounds very nice.  So much cooperation from everyone.

All of our family weddings, except two, were in churches and there were three divorces among them.  Nephew Tim was married in a park near Lansing MI the first time and in a wedding chapel at Livonia MI the second time.  The second time "took" as they were married 19 years before he died.  Norm was divorced before he married Dot and Tom is divorced, but has not remarried.

Mary Ann

angelface555

My first marriage was in the church with all the trimmings and traditions. My mother and mother in law got together and threw me a shower with sunflowers as a theme. Not what I would have chosen, but I was only the recipient. He left the next day to return to Vietnam and I went to Ft. Sam Houston in S.A., TX. to wait.

My second wedding was officiated in the home we shared. It was memorable because a friend of his insisted on making and bringing a wedding cake even though we told her that my sister was making one as a present. It was made even more memorable as our two dogs locked in the bedroom, howled throughout the short service causing muffled laughs and sheepish grins throughout.

larryhanna

Hi everyone.  We awoke this morning to a good rain shower.  I have no idea of how long it had been going on.  More rain is in the forecast for today although not a 100% chance.  The only thing on the schedule today is that Pat has a 10:15 appointment to get her neck area x-rayed which was ordered when she saw the pain doctor last week.  I will probably drive her there although she could drive herself so if it is raining I can drop her off and pick her up at the door of the clinic.  Yesterday I got caught in a traffic backup on I-20 at the bridge crossing the Savannah River that separates South Carolina from Georgia.  There is a good chance they will not be working today because of the rain and the trip will be an easy one.  If not we will probably drive downtown and then back up on the other side of the river on a very nice road called the Riverwatch Parkway.  It will take several minutes more but we won't be caught in a traffic jam on the Interstate.

Today is our Senior Luncheon at Church but I am taking a pass and not attending.  It is the last one until the fall.  So I expect to have a very laid back day.

Mary Ann, I watched the end of the PGA golf match on CBS.  I think the Golf channel usually ends their coverage 30 minutes before it begins on CBS, at least that is what I have observed in the last few weeks.  You missed a good ending.

Joan, she is getting her things ready to be driven in a specially equipped van to Fairhope, Alabama.  She said she is not moving any furniture and just trying to get together those things that she wants to take with her.  Her daughter and son are taking care of things for her.  I am sure we all will be very happy to hear from her that her journey to Alabama is over and she is settled in her new abode.  She is a lovely person and I had the opportunity to meet her in Atlanta.  Did you attend that first SN Bash in Atlanta.  My memory fades on all the folks there as I think there were something like 75 of us in attendance, including some spouses.

Joy, I realized that you had probably met your comments for the Soda Shoppe so felt you wouldn't have realized that Joan likely wouldn't have seen your comments.  I know that all of us that have known Joan over these last many years care a lot about her and are concerned about her well-being.  By the way, nice to see you posting in this discussion as well as the Soda Shoppe.

Patricia, it sounds like the workmen has some unpleasant weather to work in but at least it is relatively warm.  Are you planning on getting a playmate for Farrah? I have never heard of "Lucky Penny Day".  I do have some pennies and wonder if I will be lucky.

deAngel, it sounds like Taffy is a dominant personality type cat and one of the other cats must have also been the same.  It sounds like Mark and Linda had a very beautiful wedding without breaking your bank account.  Our daughter was married in a tiny little chapel on the nearby river.  A friend made her wedding dress and I don't remember the other details.  We did have the rehearsal dinner at a Poor Folks Restaurant and we had to pay for that as the grooms family was very poor.  It was a beautiful wedding and didn't break the bank for us.  Unfortunately it turned out not to be a beautiful marriage and only lasted three years.

Patricia, our son has been married three times.  The last one was obviously the love of his life and of course is the wife who died a couple of years ago.  He asked to have the wedding on our screened in back porch, which overlooked our beautiful back yard.  They were married on October 31st, Halloween, and when they got to our house they were in Halloween makeup and we were really shocked.  A county judge married them and she arrived with a witches hat.  We didn't expect the marriage to last but as I said it did.  Needless to say we were in a state of shock as they had kept their preparations to themselves.

Mary Ann

Larry, Scott's last wedding sounds like a fun wedding and we know it did last until she died.

In about two hours, Tom and I are heading south to meet Tom Harton at Merrillville IN.  We are meeting later than usual, at Tom Tock's request, so we will not be eating there.  We will eat before we leave, then Tom Harton and I will go to an Indy restaurant for supper.  The restaurant is one where Jim and I often went and we got to know the owner.  She assumed we were married and was surprised when I paid for a meal with my credit card, issued in Grand Rapids.  Since we both were seniors, she thought it was great that we traveled together.  Tom Harton usually tries to take me to the restaurant whenever I am in Indy.

I think the cat realizes something is going to happen because he's been very close to me since yesterday.  The only thing Tom must do for the cat is feed him and I hope Annie will stop by to see both her dad and the cat.  I'll return Saturday, so I won't be gone long.

It is an overcast day with the sun trying to shine but I had seen where rain is in the forecast.  I used to prefer driving in such weather and Tom does too.

I will have my computer with me so I will hope to post at times.  I am not sure if I will be at Tom Harton's or at Bob's daughter's (Jim's house).

Mary Ann

Larry, yes I met you  At  that Bash along with Joan L and so many others tis hard to remember..  So many nice seniors there.  After S/N dumped us, the Bash's just were not the same.

Good morning, still rainy here in the Interior. I had a nice time out last night as we got together, had some new to me cocktails and a spinach, white bean pizza. There are so few of us left anymore due to either moving or death that it was just nice to settle in and solve the world and everyone's problems as some in the Soda Shop put it.

Marilee also has a new home and it was very interesting as she gave us a small tour. She has heated wood floors throughout and gray walls with white trim. Her husband used several handmade details that made it uniquely their's rather than a stock home and several of us were quite jealous! I have never owned a home, always rented or lived in a relative's home such as when my first husband and I lived in Kentucky for some years and stayed in his folks' house as they lived and cared for his grandmother in her house. However, I love house tours and looking at homes available with photos on the Internet. I know exactly how I would furnish a home if I ever had one, but of course, that will never be in reality.

Farrah did her usual sniffing my feet, hands, and legs when I got back. Then she either gives me a noncommittal look or one of disgust such as "What were you thinking!" I got that last one as Marilee has two shelties and I spent some time playing with them. I always wonder just how much information she can pull from these little inspections when I return. A cat's nose is stronger than both dogs or humans, in fact, cats beat humans and dogs in every way, (Other than bloodhound's sense of smell);  but as you have probably guessed, dogs have 1700 taste buds due to a cat's 473, or a human's 9000. No wonder they enjoy kibble every day!  :P

Larry, I want to get Farrah a playmate as she is very alert and athletic and I don't want to see her lose that. However, the rules here are one pet only and under twenty pounds. Plus you have to initially pay a $200. pet deposit and provide proof of an initial and then yearly vet checkup to stay current.

Lucky Penny Day is one of the official observances for this day listed on my calendar. Each day of the year has some destination somewhere such as hot sundae day or Irish coffee day. My calendar lists each one and it is surprising to see sometimes what some lawmaker somewhere has designated a day for.

Those pennies are lucky for you if they still remain in your pocket. My pennies seem to disappear rather rapidly at times.

I divorced at twenty-three and then again at thirty-five and was in a committed twelve-year relationship after those but feel that Vietnam was a critical part of all three relationships. That war destroyed so many lives in so many ways and it was a politician's war that we all paid for.

Gloria, your Taffy sounds like she prefers to be the boss and that word is all in caps in her mind. I don't know how Farrah would be but she is just, since last November, settled in and beginning to exhibit many behaviors now that she has accepted it is safe to do so. I don't understand why humans do what they do to animals and I never want to.

MaryAnn, enjoy your trip, visiting, and the wedding!

Joan, not only SeniorNet but Third age, another senior group did the same not too long after and Vibrant Nation recently and without notice dumped their senior discussion groups as well. I guess seniors are not that commercial any more.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Marilyne

Mary Ann - Thanks for the back story on the quads.  All four have certainly done well, and have great futures ahead.  I love those old fashioned names . .  two of which are also names in my family.  Granddaughter Claire, is the one who was here last week.  My youngest daughter is Mary.  Her middle name is Alexandra, and when she was a baby, was nicknamed Mary-Sandy. Then shortened to Sandy, which she has been called all her life. (now age 48)

Yesterday I finally replaced my 15 year old iMac computer, with a brand new one.  AJ and I spent most of the yesterday setting it up, and everything is running smoothly.  However I still have to transfer a ton of things from the old Mac to the new one, so I will work on that for a while, and return again in a few hours.  I want to comment on messages from Patricia, Larry, joan and Gloria.  Mary Ann - keep us posted on your trip? :)

Sandy

Congratulations   Marilyn on your new
IMac !!!  I m sure that you will be very happy with it.

      What a treat!!!

Congratulations Marilyne! I have looked at the iMac, but many of my programs will only work on a Windows version and the local center here is run by a guy who acts as if anything and everything else is inferior and has no time to answer your questions. I'm surprised he is still in business!

Marilyne

Patricia - when I saw your post this morning about "fake foods", I knew I would have to share this very interesting blog with you!  It's written by a young fisherman who apparently lives in Alaska, Washington or Oregon?  It's about Pollock, which is fished in the Gulf of Alaska and other areas in that region.  When I say "fished", I mean that they use fleets of trawlers with nets, and their catch is measured in metric tons!  It turns out that Pollock is purchased and processed by huge food companies and restaurants for fish sticks, fish sandwiches, imitation crab meat, etc.  Anyway, this blog is very enlightening, and I think after you read it, you will never again want to eat a Filet-O-Fish sandwich from McDonald's!

wjoan - speaking of the Senior Net bashes, reminded me of the bash that you and another  woman (don't recall her name?) were planning to host, in Las Vegas.  I was considering attending, but it seems to me that all the plans fell to pieces . . . reason being that this woman and a man from Southern California (can't recall his name either?) had a serious misunderstanding! ::)  Does that ring a bell with you?

larryhanna

Hi everyone.  It is another overcast morning with rain expected sometime in the afternoon.  Yesterday we had quite a bit of rain and my gauge has close to 1 1/2 inches showing.  I can see the yard was most appreciative as has really greened up.  I did take Pat to get her x-ray yesterday and fortunately, due to the rain, the Interstate wasn't backed up so it was an easy trip.

Today is the day that both Pat and I have appointments with our Cardiologist.  Unfortunately they could not be scheduled back to back so will take Pat for her appointment and then bring her home and then a little later go back for my appointment.  Fortunately, it is only about a 15 minute drive to the doctor's office.  Tonight is our next to last Wednesday night dinner at the Church and tonight is Italian night, which is always good.  Scott is working this evening so will not be able to attend nor come out to visit but hopefully Jennifer will come and have dinner with me and then come out to the house for a little while.  That will be it for today.

Mary Ann, I hope the trip today will or has been a good one for you.  Eating in the same restaurant where you and Jim use to eat should bring back some nice memories.  I am sure Kendrick will miss you but will survive for a few days until you get back.

Joan, I thought we had met but time fades our memories.  It seems there are so many of the folks who attended that Bash that are no longer with us.  I tried to speak with everyone that was there but too many to really get to have much of a conversation.  Also since I wasn't staying at the hotel I had more limited time with the group beyond the scheduled activities.  I was able to meet a few of the folks again for a meal when they would be coming through Atlanta.  Of course, Hootie lived in the Atlanta area and we did get to see her several times.  Also Papa John and Cornelia met with us a couple of times for a nice visit over a meal as they traveled to or from Nashville.  SeniorNet had created almost a family connection between us and I never felt like I didn't know the folks that were there or have difficulty finding common ground to speak about.

Patricia, nice to see that you had an enjoyable evening with your friends.  There is no way in the world, unless I was starving that I would ever order a spinach and white bean pizza.  :)  It sounds like your friend has a beautiful new home.  I could go for a special day for hot fudge sundae day.

Marilyne, congratulations on your new iMac.  It is fun to set up a new computer and I bet you see quite a difference in the quality of the monitor.  I have never used an Apple computer other than the iPad and iPhone, which have both been super.

I got here  (Indy) about 6 pm so Tom H and I decided to go to the Legend restaurant first.  While Tom looked for a parking place, I got out of the car and went into the restaurant.  The owner was there and recognized me right away,  We had a short visit before Tom got there.  When finished eating, we left and dropped my stuff off at Jim's former home (now occupied by his granddaughter), then went to Tom's house.  His cousin from Canada was flying in with her gentleman friend and her two children, ages 15 and 17.  The were flying from Vancouver Island (Victoria) to Seattle to Detroit to Indps..  They had a 3-hour layover in Detroit so it was 11 pm before they got to Indps.  I went along to pick them up and the cousin was so surprised to see me; it had been 2012 since I was at her mother's.

After depositing the Canadians at his house, Tom brought me to where I am staying and I went to bed about 1 am.  I got up about 7:30 am and when I finish here I'm going to get dressed for the day.  I have no idea what the plans are but I am sure all of us will do something.  Jim's granddaughter, with whom I am staying will be one of two maids of honor at the wedding.  Tomorrow is the rehearsal dinner, then Friday the wedding.

As I was waiting for Tom to drive to the restaurant door to pick me up, I heard someone call "Mary Ann".  I tuned to see a man from Tom's church, then his wife got out of their car so we had a little visit.  I may have breakfast with them Friday morning.  He is a retired Catholic priest, who then worked for the State of Indiana where he met his Presbyterian wife and that is how I know them.

Time for breakfast and getting dressed.  That's all I have so far.

Marilyne, I meant to add about the quad's names - Ted is Ted Daniel and the Daniel is for a deceased brother of his mother.  Steve is Steven Joseph and the Steve is for the deceased brother of his father.  The original Steve died at age 30 from cancer.  I had just retired and of course came down for the funeral.

Good morning from a breezy, could go either way, weatherwise, Interior! Farrah and I have both had breakfast, cleaned up and now she is having her morning nap and I'm on my first cup of coffee. It is 6:39 here in the morning. Today is bill paying and gathering day as I want to find some more small storage containers and a hand vac.

Marilyne, unfortunately, that is nothing new and it has always been buyer beware, "they" have just gotten smarter and "we" have gotten more complacent. I cannot eat fast or convenience food nor microwavable food and I haven't been to McDonald's in years since the book came out about the young man who spent time destroying his body on their fast food. I also have had imitation crab and it is horrible. I will predict that nothing will change, especially in the current climate.

I am not surprised at my food sensitivities and allergies. Evidently, it is showing up more and more among infants and the elderly. When it becomes more common among the ones working it might change.

Larry, a white bean and spinach pizza is very good but to each his own. The term pizza is a bit of a misnomer. I do know there were no leftovers. That is the first alcoholic drink I've had since July forth twenty ten. I'm a social drinker.

Also, Alan capitulated and Dora gets her cruise along the Rhine. Who Alan gets is still in his decision making.

MaryAnn, it sounds like you have an enjoyable time ahead.

I am off to prepare my day, everyone enjoy yours!

Marilyne, her name was Babs and her and I did have a Bash in Las Vegas/  It turned out great and we had a very good time.  As for the rest of  your story, it does not sound a bit familiar.  Babs is gone now, but she and her family were great to us. I spent two weeks with her getting the last minute stuff done.

Larry, I am a bit on the quiet side so tend to stand in the background most of the time.

Hot days here right now.  90's
