Good Morning dear hearts,

Janie, I hope your determination has had results. Go get 'em girl !!!

I am picturing our Bis as being ensconced in her new digs, and just resting up to get renewed after the travail of moving under difficult circumstances. Then hopefully she will be back with us, giving us all the details of her new "home".

Gloria, that is miserable to lay awake all night long.  I am blessed with the pill that puts me to sleep and like last night, I didn't move a muscle till five o'clock this morning. This pill is a narcotic, and one can become addicted to it...which I am...but I don't care. It keeps me content. I function just fine mentally, and don't bite my fingernails, or cuss, so I will enjoy my old age.

Where is Mycheal ???????

Amy, I am joyful that you actually stayed in bed later this morning. All that wood you plan to move and stack will need some extra energy from your body. Wish I were able to help....I love that kind of labor. Take me back to ten years ago, and I could be there helping.

Sandy, how I wish you could travel with your girls. I know they will have a great time, so pretend you are with them, by traveling on your computer.

I have a big order to give Amazon...so I had better get to it.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Mary Ann

Gloria, I think our forecast for the weekend is 90 degrees.  Right now it is 79 degrees and I like that.  The cat and I sat on the deck for a while and he has gotten so he likes it out there.

Tom and I took Dot to lunch today for her birthday.  When I said, "Happy Birthday" to Dot and the server heard me, she asked if today was Dot's birthday, Dot said, 'yes" and Dot's meal was free.  Tuesday with the family luncheon, there was a birthday that day and that was free.  I'll have to remember that for other family members, including me!

JaneS

I've had a bit of success with my determination this morning.  I have someone coming tomorrow about the squirrel in the attic.  Monday someone will be here to power wash the two concrete porches and the sidewalk in front of one of them.  The gate will be repaired next week and they are going to look at the attice (after the squirrel is gone) to replenish the insulation.  I left a message for the tree trimmer and they haven't returned my call but I'm still hopeful.  It's only been a couple of hours.  That's progress!

And I have 6 dinners in the fridge and freezer for later....meat loaf, taters and cauliflower.

Now I'm going to walk down to the corner for the mail and then close my eyes for a bit until it's time to pick up TLH.

NOTE:  I came back and noticed that I forgot to post so here it is

Janie !!!!! Congratulations. You did it ! You got those people stirred up good. I'm proud of you..and all that cooking too. I sure would not want to be on your "to do" list.

I placed my Amazon order. Managed to spend a hundred, plus on "stuff". Some of it was medications, and they add up in price very quickly. Then I had lunch with friends, came home to read and nap, then I went out to walk. And I walked and walked and walked with bench rests in between. We have benches in our garden, metal, and they are gliders, so even though one is sitting, the legs can still get a lot of exercise, and my legs require it.Use 'em or lose "em.

I had a good lunch downstairs, so I will settle for a peanut and jelly sandwich and I have a cup of vanilla ice cream with a triple amount of butterscotch topping for dessert.

Still eagerly awaiting a message from our Bis. Maybe tomorrow.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

I was hoping to see an "I'm here" message from our Joanie before I went to bed but Im sure getting her computer in working order is not top priority.  Her creature comforts must be met first and then the extras after she's rested.

I'm going to bed early to try to catch up after last night.  I did not sleep well last night.  I guess I had a lot on my mind.  I still haven't found anyone to trim my trees but tomorrow is another day.  Kiran an I have had to postpone our "
End of School" party until Saturday because one of her friends is having all the girls in their room for a party at her house tomorrow.  So Saturday will be ours.

I'm off to bed now so I will wish a Good Night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one.

I just found this.....sorry it did not get posted this morning!

A good Thursday morning to all.

We are awaiting the arrival of Son Mark and his Fiancée Megan to arrive. They flew in from Arizona today to attend Megan's cousins wedding in the mountains on Saturday. We will not get to spend too much time with them, but we will sure enjoy the time we do have.

I just saw a post in Face Book from Joe.  He commented this is the first time in many years that he lives in the same city with his sister and his mom.  I take that to mean that Our Joan has arrived in Fairhope.  I hope she will be checking in soon to let us know how she is settling in at her new home.  Continued thoughts and prayers for her.

Have a good day, EVERYFRIEND.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, I am up early this morning but might try having a nap later. Supposed to be getting light rain again. Gosh we have not had any for 2 whole days.

JUNE  my pain pills are a narcotic and I have taken them for too many years  and they do not work at all any more. I will not take more than I should either. I am allowed 3 a day but most days I take only 2. When it rains though and the dampness gets to me I do take the 3.

MARY ANN  yesterday was a light jacket/sweater day. No shorts or sleeveless tops yet.

JANE  wonderful that you are finally getting somewhere with the folks you need to do things for you. My second son is always getting calls to help people like you on week ends. He hardly ever turns anyone down unless it is something electrical, he is not licensed for that. In his job he has worked with them but carpentry is his line.

JENNY thanks for Joe's Facebook remark. I hope she can rest after that long trip and will be here soon.

LARRY  thank you for the tip yesterday, I now have my one click back. This time I saved that in a couple of different places on the external.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's NOT raining here and not supposed to all day.  HOORAY!

Jenny, I take that remark to mean that Joanie is in her new place and resting from the trip.  What a nice feeling it must be to have her family close by.  I have half my kids here and half scattered but the next generation is all scattered except for The Little Hooligan and she'll be here another 8 years until she graduates high school.  The rest are in Canada, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas and 2 in the Philadelphia area.  I do get to see them occasionally.

I have to go finish making the dog food this morning.  I intended to make it yesterday but I kept putting it off until it was too late.  I have become a great "putter-offer" in my old age.  I tend to use Scarlet O'Hara's line "Oh, I'll think about that tomorrow" more often than I should.

I wish you all a wonderful day filled with whatever you wish for!  Make it the best one yet!

Amy

Good morning everyone..

Yesterday didn't go as planned but today is another day to try and get the work done.

Larry, no problem with bugs as I think the winter cold kills them off.  I have worked in the mow and it is not a nice job but one that needs to be done. Helped a neighbour with their grain in the fall ,doing it the old fashioned way of stooking the sheaves then I went around with the buck rake to gather and take to the thrashing machine.

Hal, hope your evaluation went well.

Sanady so glad you are getting that cast off before the hot weather hits. Is it itchy?

Gloria. nice of him to turn the heart on and shame on her for not thinking of others. Hope she gets in a place when and if she ages and finds a person just like her to maintain the building.

Jane, not raining here either but we do have it on the way they say. My poor garden is struggling to grow.

So glad to read Joan is at her new home. After a good rest she will be in here to tell us all about it..

Better get moving..

Enjoy your day everyone.

Amy top of the day to you also.just reading your post looks like you and I have done a lot of same things. I have raked hay with a buck rake pulled with Horses  and staked the lose hay with what we called a jayhock stacker and was thought how to put  it to crown so would shed water and not rot. we had a buck rake was pulled with two horses  one on tither side wit long check rains. Had to be carefuller not to let the hay pile too high so it would not catch the lines backing out from under it. what a day it was. a deceased neighbor used to say good old days, good old days heck only thing was you had a strong back and a week mined was very true but loved it anyway. have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well Amy I got my schedule for what the young lady thought I needed.  Three days per week, two of them in the swimming pool and one day, as she called it, on land.  That is in the work out room.  She did lots of measuring, pulling and pushing and had me laying in all kinds of positions.  This is at Warm Springs Hospital, they specialize in PT and also have in-patient facilities.

Neighbor was up and mowing her grass early this morning, when she first fired up her mower it made a really funny noise, I couldn't figure out what in the world and then it dawned on me.  Anyhow she finally got it running okay and did her front.

Amy, you and the other ladies on this forum are some of the hardest working folks I know.  You always have some task going.

Hope Joan is getting all settled in okay.  I know she has lots to do getting everything where she wants it.  I don't envy that part.

Gloria, hope your weather warms up for you, so you can say summertime and smile.

larryhanna

Hi everyone.  It looks like we will have another nice day with clouds in the afternoon.  We are to get only to 84 degrees this afternoon.  Yesterday was a perfect Spring day with low humidity and a light breeze.

Yesterday was the best day I have had in quite awhile in terms of how I was feeling.  However, I realize that I need a day of rest from an active day and fortunately the calendar is clear for today.  There was nothing out of the ordinary in what I did but just enjoyed things more.

My good friend Richard called me yesterday afternoon asking for Pat and I pray for his wife Pam who has been diagnosed with colon cancer and will have surgery on Tuesday.  She has suffered many health issues over the years but is a lady of strong faith.  If you will please include Pam in your prayers for a few days.

Lloyd, I hope you got to the table before Nancy threw it out yesterday.  :)  Glad you took a day of rest.

Sandy, that sounds like quite a trip that Kelly and friends will be taking to Europe.  Glad to see you are enjoying nice weather. I like that Proverb you shared.  Optimism does a lot to make life more enjoyable.

Hal, you are right about farm work being hot, dusty and dirty in the summer.  You sweat a lot.  I never had to stomp the hay into a chute as Dad had a baler that picked up the hay and fed it into the unit that packed it into bales.

Gloria, what are we going to do with you to help you get some sleep during the night!  It sounds like the peaches down here may be ready but haven't seen any in the markets.  Of course, that might be because with the online ordering I really haven't looked.  In the Midwest, where I grew up, we would always offer something to drink to a guest if they were going to stay and visit for awhile.  We do use purchased pasta sauce but Pat always doctors it up to her taste and it is good.  Glad to see the one click info solved the problem for you.  I have found I can almost always find answers to computer problems by a quick search on Google by just putting the problem in the search box and going from there.  I am happy to help you or anyone when I can.

Amy, I never had to work with a thrashing machine.  My dad had a combine for the corn and soy beans he grew and the only other farm areas were for hay and pasture.

Hal, will your PT in the pool be with an instructor?  Hope the PT really helps build you up.

June, glad you are getting the sleep you need.  You are taking the sleeping pill under your doctor's direction so glad you don't worry about it.  It sure isn't hard to spend $100 or more shopping.  I love sitting one of those gliders.

Jenny, check you calendar as you have lost a day.  :)  A short visit with our children is much better than no visit at all.   Thanks for sharing the info that Joan is safely in Fairhope.

JaneS, it sounds like you have a lot of balls in the air with all of those jobs you are seeking help with.

Joy

Good Friday morning.  I  do check each day, looking for any news about Joan. I sure hope everything went well with her trip and she is getting settled in.

Just haven't had a whole lot to talk about.  Our weather has been so  awful for over a week now,  that it makes a person feel so depressed.  Good napping weather, tho.

Larry, I just found out that our local Walmart will be starting the online shopping in a couple weeks.  I am so looking forward to using that service.  I know you really seem to like it.  Can you set the time that you want to go pick the order up?  Have you been pleased with how things are packed and how the produce has been? I am not real pleased with the produce that I have gotten there, so I am hoping that maybe they will pick the best produce to put in these online orders. I do  have another grocery store where I go for produce sometime. I am going to give them a week or so to get all the "bugs" worked out. And, I will just do a small order to see how it goes.  My son or daughter-in-law goes to Walmart several times a week, so pick-up won't be a problem.  Do you pay for it when you place the order?  Is it packed in plastic bags or in cartons.  I did just order a bunch of paper products and it was enough that I didn't have to pay for the shipping.  And, I got it in 2 days.  That saves me from having to lug paper towels and toilet paper.

Thanks for answering my questions.  You are the only person I know who has used this service from Walmart.  My sister-in-law used this type of service from another grocery chain in our area, but they charged for delivery and it isn't available in my area.   She was pleased with how that service worked.

I have been calling Walmart every so often to ask when they were going to start the on-line shopping and the other day, was surprised when the gal told me that it is to start on June 20.  Will let you know how it goes.

Hope everyone will have a great week end.   And, hopefully, we will have more news about Joan.

Good morning, waiting for another ride to the 3rd doctor this week. This one is to my primary doctor.  wed. went to Hematologist for my shot AGAIN.  Because i miss my March visit,(was in the hosp. with heart attack.) Medicare said I now have to wait until my count goes below 10, suppose to be 12

Gloria we are suppose to have a heat wave this weekend.  Heat has come on a couple of times in the morning.

I had come in looking for a post from Joan, but I am sure she is tired. Thanks Jenny for posting what you saw.

Have to go my ride is here.

Today is a bone scan for the very first time for me.  Don drove to the VA while I am trying to keep up with general stuff.  Of course, S & F is on my mental list -  :)

Hooray for Joan that she is in her new home.  Looking forward to news from her.

Joy:  You will like the online service.  We only use it when we are arriving home but I should try to use it often.  The store is so huge it just wears a person out so fast that only a doughnut with coffee can revive a person.   ::)

Don fell on the front steps yesterday and was bruised on a leg - a nap did wonders for him.  It still is scary to fall and it was because he was trying to point to a birds nest to tell a neighbor and walking at the same time.

Jenny posted a picture of her gray (lazy) cat yesterday.  It shows who runs her house.

Lindancer   Sorry that you have to wait -- wishing you a healthy recovery/   and few and far between health appointments.

Sandy:  When the girls send pictures, can you post them somewhere in here?  Let us know.

One of my chores will be accomplished this afternoon.  The guy that will rid me of the squirrel in the attic has been here and appraised the situation.  He has gone home for his carpenter tools so that when the squirrel is gone he can replace the missing piece of siding.  Seems he's a part time carpenter in his spare time.  He also sprayed for carpenter bees in several places.  After we discussed some possibilities and he discovered that I'm a Senior Citizen still working to pay the bills he knocked $100. off the original estimate for services.  I think I'll keep him, too!  I've been hoping to find a handy man.  Maybe he's it.

Gotta go.  He'll be back shortly and my son should be here with the ladder soon.  Enjoy the rest of your day!

A Good Friday HELLO to all.

It is warming up fast here this morning.  Hope we have the clouds move in this afternoon and a quick shower to cool us down.

Oh CAOL, I am sorry to read about Don's fall.  It can and does happen so quickly.  I hope the bruise is all he expierences from it.  That and soreness for the muscles that tighten up when we try to save ourselves.  Yes, Mr. Smokey is indeed the king of the casa.  He sure is a good boy and we are so happy to have him.  The Dexa scan is a easy one, so not to stress over.  We are headed to Laramie tomorrow for a birthday celebration.  Have not been there in 3 years or so.  Sadly, I am not looking forward to fighting our way up and back on the interstate.  Just way too much traffic these days.

Take it easy and feel better, JUNE.

So happy you have found someone to help areound your place, JANE. Sure happy for,you that you have TLH there to enjoy.

Hope we see a post from Our Joan....she knows we are all thinking about her.

Off to get some chores done.

Enjoy your day, EVERYFRIEND.

Jenny and Carol, the only problem I found with a bone scan was it took up most of the day with the radioactive dye and having to drink all the water before the scan which only took about an hour.  The water, they said, was to flush the excess dye from my system.  I had to have an added scan on the small of my back.  Mine may have been different since women have them for bone density and mine was to be sure no cancer in my bones, there wasn't.

June, hope you are feeling better.

Denver

HAL, I was just assuming that Carol was having a Dexa scan, not a bone scan like you speak of.

I napped and got tired of myself, so decided to dress, go down to the clinic and have a b.p. check. It was a good one...145 over something...I can never remember the second number. Was told to drink lots and lots of water, so I'll do it...probably wash all the salt tablets out of my system, so I'll need more meds for that. I'd like to quit all my meds and see what would happen, but they won't let me do that.

O.K. June Drabek, quit your belly-achin' and count your Blessings.

We had sunshine today...high of 75. Everything is blooming nicely, the pines have all sent out new candles, so all is fine. I'm even planning to go down for supper, beef stroganoff and noodles sounds pretty good.

At 6:30 they are showing a Nat. Geo. DVD of "The last stand of the Great Bear." I may get the body down to watch that too. God willing and the B.P. don't rise.

Jenny and Hal, thank you for your good wishes. They worked.

Carol, I am so sorry to read about your Don's fall. Those things can happen so easily..no warning..just boom ! We are down. One of our lady tenants had a serious fall recently. She just came back from the hospital today..a broken hip, so she will not be "at home" for a while. We have a building here that is just for special care, so she will be there for a while. I spent 8 days there as I needed a transfusion...much better than time in a hospital.

Good Morning Everyfriend.  I'm going to have to reconsruct because I exited without hitting the post button again.  I'm have more and more Senior Moments these days.

Yes, the squirrel is out of the attic.  The guy who was here said he saw a next and the squirrel was in it in the tree.  But it rained during the night and the window above the bed was open.  Annie said she heard something out there and when i investigated, that darn squirrel was trying to get in again.  I'll have to call the squirrel guy and tell him that.  Now I don't know what happens.

Today I'm calling 4 tree trimmers that are located right here in this area and hopefully at least one of them will be willing to trim my trees.  Then that darn squirrel won't be able to jump from the tree to the roof.

We're in wait time for Annie's pill that that she has to take on an empty stomach and when they can be fed, I'll have my breakfast and get on with my day.  I hope you all have a wonderful day full of whatever it is you wish it to be.
