Ohio is having some big thunderstorms here and very heavy rain.  Tomorrow we'll go to a city south of here and niece and children and the girls and their families of my deceased niece will meet us for a family dinner.  Her son had us all up for supper at his house last night as he had a trip to Pittsburg tomorrow.

Sunday we'll start home.

Hi, gals. We've had a great time in Juneau. Have driven almost every road - there aren' t many - and seen gorgeous scenery and other neat stuff.  Good food, too. Sue and Randy are flying out in the morning, and Margaret and I will be boarding the boat. We've had good weather, too.

Sue, I know you're not on Facebook, but your sons probably are. That would be a good place to look for your cousin. Tim could do that for you.

Glad you're having a good time, jane.  Safe travel home.

Hope your event goes well tonight, Marilyn.

Happy weekend, Buddies!

Hi Gals, We had a great time at the dinner for our pew mates at Olive Garden last night. They were also celebrating their 60th anniversary. They married kind of late, I think  We had 15 people there all told including our pastor. Nice gifts were given to the honored couple.  They also had a cake brought in that was humongous!  Beautiful and good.

I haven't done a whole lot today. Feeling kind of lazy.  The HOA landscapers did all the pruning out front this morning. I was so glad of that. It was way overdue.

Sue, go into 411.com and type your cousin's name and Florida for the state in the line for people and hit search.  What comes up has a lot of small print, but there is a place that says address that you can click on. The rest of the stuff wants you to pay for a subscription. Ignore that. If it doesn't work for you, send me his name and approximate age and I will look it up for you.

Mary, I'm so glad you enjoyed Juneau.  We were there only one day, but enjoyed it.  Hope the cruise is great for you.

Jane, sorry about the storms, but I think the MW has gotten a lot of those this summer.  Enjoy your family.

John should be home tomorrow night. I haven't accomplished a lot while he was gone.

I just realized I haven't read our SS lesson for tomorrow. Guess I better get with it.  Have a nice weekend.  Sharon

SCFSue

Good Afternoon, Every Buddy.  Olyne picked me up for SS and church.  We knew our teacher, Jim, was in Europe, but thought Jenny, our sub, would be there, but Olyne and I were the only ones present.  Kay, who is a member, but also a choir member was busy out in the hall with some kind of committee, so we just chatted together and were able to get into the ladies' room near our class before it got crowded.  Then we went to our regular seats (Heaven forbid if someone else were to sit in them!--does that happen in your churches?).  Bonney, Jeanne, and Ethel came to sit with us, so we had a pretty good half row.  We had communion today so the service was a bit longer than usual.

After lunch and clean-up, I spent an hour and a half+ looking for my cousin Fred's address in Florida and found it in a batch of Christmas Cards from last year.  So I'll write to him this evening and mail it tomorrow.  Cousin Martie (Cousin Anne's daughter) wanted me to tell him about her mother's death a few weeks ago.  I don't have a telephone # for Fred and Sally, so will just send him a note.  I'll leave my phone # with the note in case he wants to call--and if HE'S still living.  He's almost 10 years older than I am, which would make him near 90.

Not much else to report today.  I hope Jane and Ray have had fun and will have a safe trip home.  Mary, keep us posted about your trip when you can--and of course have LOTS of FUN!

Hi to all the Buddies looking in and take care!

Tomorrow morning I have a consultation appt. with the surgeon for the lumpectomy . I'm trying to stay positive & not think about it .  That is hard to do . In my family history there was cancer but not in a direct line except my brother who smoked & had esophagus cancer .
I want to schedule the surgery after we get back from a trip . Hope that is possible .  Our grandson (our daughter's son ) died a few weeks ago & we need to see family as much as they need to see us .  I haven't told our daughter about my surgery because she is too fragile right  now .
I don't see how this could be cancer , it hasn't showed up in any of my mammograms or biopsies . I had a mass in my arm pit on the same side & it was proven a fat deposit . I pray this is the same .

SharonE

Alpiner, we'll keep you in our prayers.  Sorry for the loss of your grandson.  That's a hard thing to swallow.

Sue, glad you find Fred's address.  I went to SS & church and we had communion too.  All the Salkahatchie kids (missioners who go out for a week and fix up homes for those who can't) were there and talked about their experiences. This is a SC think that has been done since 1976. They have 5 camps, I think that they work from. Really inspiring to see teenagers working like that for the needy.

John is on his way home and will be here in about an hour.  I put in a load of towels, and cleaned up the kitchen, but that's about all since church.

Hi to our travelers. Hope you're having fun.  Hi too to Darlene, Maarilyn, Ginny & Joy.  Sharon

SCFSue

Good morning, Buddies.  I've been doing paperwork and wrote a letter to my cousins Fred and Sally about Cousin Anne's recent death.  I spent most of yesterday afternoon searching through old Christmas cards looking for Fred's address and finally found it there.  I'm afraid my filing system leaves much to be desired!

Yesterday at church, an interim minister was introduced to serve our college students until a permanent replacement for Rachel can be found.  He is a retired pastor from our conference and will have weekly meetings with the college students until the new replacement is found.  It will be tough to find someone who is as loving, nurturing, and companionable as Rachel.  I miss her so much and am sure her college students do, too.

I've brought my trash barrel up from the street as the trash men were here early.  I need to wash it out as I've been putting lots of pears with bad spots in bags which have leaked and left moisture and a bad smell inside.  I'm expecting Tim sometime this morning and I think he may have time to help me do that. (he did!)

Not much else to do today.  I'm caught up on laundry and the house is still looking good since last week's Molly Maids visit.  I'll probably pick up more pears in the back yard.  I can't believe that old tree has had so many this year!  Usually I get no more than 3 or 4 and they are usually inedible.  These are still green, but when I peel them and poach them in small chunks, they are tasty chilled in my fridge and I eat them with cottage cheese on the side.

Alpiner1, I hope your consultation goes well and that you have the lumpectomy right away.  I found my lump in one night 1996,  showed my husband the next morning.  We made an appointment that day with my nurse practitioner who sent me immediately to a clinic where I received multiple breast exams/films and was told to return to my doctor's office.  They set up an appointment with an oncologist who identified it as breast cancer and that led to a lumpectomy at Ft. Benning Army hospital.  Then I had radiation treatment at my local cancer center--7 weeks as when in my 5th week, the radiation center was closed for Christmas holidays.  I still have annual mammograms, but all has been well since.

Sharon, I hope John has returned home safely yesterday.  How are you doing with your exercise program.

Hi Every Buddy who is not here this morning.  Have a great day, everyone!
Sue

I saw the surgeon this morning & she did an ultra sound & the spot seems smaller on her equipment .  I'm waiting for them to call me today about an appt. for a mammogram on their equipment ( she has more confidence with it ) & also will have another biopsy involving a wire . She said the spot has a shadow & hopes to get a clearer image .

jane

We'll be thinking of you, Alpiner, and hope for very good news for you.

We're home...lots of road/bridge construction/repair with one lane and 45 mph speed limits on interstates. One had a 5 miles backup trying to get everyone into one lane. What a mess.

Jeanne....I did wave to you going and coming arond C-U!! ;D

It was a great visit, but I'm glad to be home.

jane

SharonE

Sue, it sounds like the pears are keeping you busy!  Glad some are good enough to eat though. They do make a tasty dish with cottage cheese.  If you regularly have a problem with smells in your garbage can in the summer, you can add cat litter to the bottom of it and it will absorb the smells.

Jane, welcome back.  I feel for you on all the construction. There is so much of it in the summer in the MW.

Alpiner, I do hope your test results are good one. Prayers going out for you

It is 5:30 AM. I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back to bed had the most awful attack of GERD. My whole chest was hurting, so I got up and took 2 Tums and am on the computer till it passes.  I made the mistake of eating a mint candy that they had given us at Olive Garden last night.  That is not recommended, but I haven't had any attacks in forever.

I did 10 mins on the bicycle yesterday. It was too hot to take Bunny for a walk.  We had a storm last evening too. It didn't last terribly long but it had been a while since we had any rain.  The PGA Open is this week in Charlotte and the forecast is for rain every day!  This is a first for Charlotte to have one of the majors so it is a shame.

I better get to bed soon.  Sharon.

jane

Good morning, Buddies...

A very cool morning here...49 when I woke up, but up into the 60s now at 8:30 am.  No rain predicted until Thursday.  I need to run some errands this morning and Ray's off to his T'ai Chi class.  He's doing that hoping it'll help with his balance.

Laundry is in and churning away.  We didn't have a lot since I could do laundry at my sister's, which is a huge help.

jane

SCFSue

Good morning, Buddies.  We're having a light drizzle here this morning.  The weatherman expects low to mid 80's for us today, which is fairly cool for Alabama in August.  I've had my "bug guy" here this morning for the monthly spraying inside and out.  When I finish posting, I'm going to put on my rain jacket and walk in my neighborhood.  After that I'll fix and eat lunch and probably spend the afternoon inside reading.  I did cut up a lot of pears and poach them and will eat them with cottage cheese for the next few days.

Alpiner, I'm hoping for good results from the test and if your surgeon recommends a biopsy, I hope she/he can do it quickly.  You'll be much relieved to have that past you.  Good luck!

Welcome home, Jane.  Freeway travel during summer months is a big fat pain!  I'm glad you made it home safely.  Gee, 60's in August seems pretty chilly to me.  However, we're looking for a high of 80* this afternoon and if the rain doesn't stop, it might be a bit lower than that.

Sharon, thanks for the tip about kitty litter in the garbage can.  I'll talk to Tim about it.  He's taking me to lunch on Thursday and then to Kroger for my weekly shopping.  He washed out my trash can yesterday.  I'm sorry about the GERD attack and hope you won't have another one.

I'm going to put my hooded rain jacket on and walk around the 3 blocks on my street and the one behind me (not very long blocks--but Tim has been on my case about not getting outside enough).

Have a nice rest of the day, Buddies.

I'm waiting for a call from the dr . She said someone would call today about what to do next . I made a quick trip this morning to the market so I could be home all day waiting for the call .  She said yesterday this could all be taken care of this week . The dr.'s office is in a hospital in San Diego & is about 40 miles & she mentioned it may take 2 days ( so 2 trips ) . My husband went with me yesterday & was sure happy he did !

I lost my post so will start all over again.

All is well here. Keith seems to be alright most of the time, however, from time to time there is some little thing that is not quite right. I put his blood pressure pills on the table in front of his placemat so he will remember to take the all was fine until Saturday when he looked at me and asked "Am I supposed to take these pills? I told him "yes just one from each bottle".
He takes two pills at bedtime and I hand those to him with a glass of water each night. He has been working in the yard doing some odd jobs that have needed doing for quite some time so that is a good sign, he is not just sitting around doing nothing.

Freckles and I have a few days off, tomorrow we visit the Cancer Center, that is all she has to do this week. Next week is going to be hectic. I have two visits with Freckles, Keith needs to get a hair cut and a new pr of shoes and I have to get things packed up for the trip next weekend for the wedding. We are going to have to leave very early in the morning as there are millions of visitors come to Oregon to view the eclipse and the traffic is going to be horrific. It would normally take about 3.5 hours to get where we need to go, but with so much traffic on the road, it could take all darn day. The wedding is the day of the eclipse so there is no staying home. It is Keith's youngesat son who is getting married.

Alpiner....I hope you got good news from your doc's office!

Marilyn...it sounds as if the dementia is apparent some days, and I guess that's how it works.  He's so lucky to have you.  His boys should be very grateful, too

Beautifully cool day here, so the AC can rest.  Bridge is the only thing planned by me for today.

It's 11:00 a.m. here, so I guess Good Morning is still OK.  I've had a good walk, done some laundry, showered and washed my hair--and when trying to dry it, found my hair dryer is kaput!  So it's still damp and my ride to lunch and bridge will be here in about 45 minutes!  Thank goodness when I had my hair cut last week, she got it pretty short.

We're eating lunch out at the University Club.  Our 97 y.o. member doesn't have it at her home anymore and makes "no host" reservations for us at the U. Club.  They have a pretty good salad/soup menu as well as larger entrees, so I'll be glad for something yummy.  And, best of all, their homemade bread pudding for dessert!  The Club has room for our two tables of bridge and there is usually at least one more table of women playing there, also, sometimes two or more.

I'm going to lunch tomorrow with Tim and afterwards, he'll take me to Kroger for my weekly shopping.  I don't have much of a list except for fresh fruit and veggies, bacon for BLTs, and ice cream.  My freezer is pretty full.  Tim was here on Monday and was having lots of pain in his right arm--promised to see the doctor.  He worked as a plumber for quite a while during and after college and the repetitive motion has caused pain in his arm.

Alpiner, I hope to hear some good news from you today.

Have a good day, Buddies.

I didn't hear from the dr. until a few minutes ago , it had to be approved by our insurance .  I have an appt. on August 16 for an ultra sound & biopsy .  I pressumed it was at the breast dr.'s office . Then my husband said he thought I should call & find out because her office is at a hospital .  I just called & left a message for the nurse to call me back .
I am so rattled !   The next day we are leaving on a trip , it will be okay & I can only lift 5lbs. for a couple of days .  So will need to have most of the packing done by Tuesday .
The  woman who called first , called me back to get my husband's name . I got the correct address & got a few answers so I'm a bit more at ease .  I was fearful of having anesthetic because of  respiratory issues but was told it would be a local .

SharonE

Hi Gals, well I hit a bump in the road yesterday too!  After dinner, I took my shower and put on my gown & robe and stretched out on the couch to watch TV when BAM!!! I had the most excruciating pain across my whole chest. I was hot & sweaty & clammy, so I called John and we went to the urgent care which turned out to be just closing, so they called an ambulance for me.. I spent last night and today in the hospital!  The pain in my chest didn't stop till after they gave me 2 shots of morphine.  They did an ultra sound and an ekg & a CT scan. The nitro didn't help and the EKG didn't look particularly bad, but anyway it was 2:00 AM before they decided definitely that they were admitting me and that John could go home. He was fit to be tied to be out on the road at that hour, but he got home safely.  Today they did a stress test and a endoscopy and kept me fasting all day till they were done.  Both were normal, so finally I was discharged at 6:30 this evening.  What a day.  I was told to take Malox for the Gerd when I had a spell and to take Prilosec daily instead of 3x a week like I had been.  Other than that, no orders. What a 24 hrs!

Hi to all. Glad you are all okay.  Sharon

jane

Sharon....how frightening!  I'm glad you got to the hospital and got checked out.

Jane

SCFSue

Good morning (it's just 10:00 a.m. here).  I had a good lunch yesterday at the University club, but paying for it was a nightmare.  The electricity was out because of a construction accident in the parking lot, so credit cards were not working.  My salad and entrée only came to $18.+, so I just paid cash.  However when I got home I couldn't find my credit card and have looked all over for it, called the U. Club and finally this morning called USAA and canceled that card and ordered another.

Tim is coming to take me to lunch and Kroger at 11:00 and I will pay for lunch with cash and the groceries with my debit card from the local bank.  What a mess--and I'm sure I'll get a lecture about it!  And to make matters worse, my hair dryer quit!  That's not such a big problem, though, as my hair is so short since my haircut last week, it dries quickly.

It's dreary out this morning and looks like it's going to rain again today.  We've had so much rain this summer--we're usually in drought conditions by this time of year.  I cut up more pears yesterday and poached them in a large kettle of water.  I've been eating them with cottage cheese as salads.  Not a gourmet treat, but still pretty tasty.

My Norton computer contract will run out in a couple of days.  I guess I'll have to charge next years fee to my debit card.  Maybe they'll let me send them a check.

Alpiner, I'm sorry about the stress caused by the circumstances but try to enjoy your trip.  I know you probably won't be able to forget about it completely, but you need the time off to relax.  I'm hoping you have a really good time and are able to enjoy your vacation.

Darlene, I'm sorry about your oven, but if you're like me you don't use it that much unless you have company.  I hope you can get it fixed soon, though.

Sharon, what a nightmare!  I'm glad you're finally home and hope that you'll get relief from the Malox and Prilosec.  Nothing is worse than stomach/chest pains as there is always the fear of cancer for those of us who've had it once.  Did they check your esophagus, too?  That can cause lots of digestive problems.  Charlie's wife died because she had GERD issues for lots of years, but it was diagnosed at the end of her life as esphogeal (sp?) cancer.  I'm praying for your relief and hopefully the end of this nightmare!

Hi Jane.  What are you doing today?  I hope it's something fun.

Sue

SharonE

Sue, they did an endoscopy where they send a tube down the throat and into the stomach and check everything on the way, so no problem with that.  The hospital said I had to have an appt within 2 wks with my GI dr, so they called today and I will see them next Friday.  I have no idea what is causing all this gas suddenly when I haven't changed my diet.

Too bad about the credit card, but I'm sure they will expedite it to you and that Norton can wait until then.  I don't like Norton myself. I think Kapersky or AVG is much better, but that's just me.

Thanks, Jane, for the kind comments.

Darlene, you might know that if a major appliance is going to go out, it will be when you have something important scheduled!  Murphy's law!  I hope your new oven arrives soon.

Brian's furniture arrived finally today and there was more damage in the one move than in the previous 12. They are just sick over it, but they will get some compensation, just not enough.  Right now, they are trying to get unpacked and organized again.  Don't envy them.

I need to go to the grocery but really don't want to.  Sharon

JeanneP

Sharon.  They sure did a lot for you when you went to Emergency. They never do seem to find anything. I only went one time as it was a late Saturday night. something that i had no idea what was causing it.  They were not busy , Checked me in. Took BP. Nurse did this. About a hour and she pops in again seeing if O.K. Another hour goes by. A suppose Dr. comes in saying blood pressure little high. Check with your Dr. Monday. go home. I drove myself there and back. Just 5 min. away.
All was O.K. Monday. Then start getting the bills. Shows a lab test. one Dr. there. Got bills from 2 other medical places each showing a Dr. Name. having done something.  Never saw anyone.  Think it was about 530 dollars all together.  Found out that all the Emergencies are private Companies. Not owned by the hospitals. One place even billed me twice for the same thing. same amount. Sent a letter with copy of check showing paid so not to send another past due.   Hope your experience turns out better than mine.
I was warned before even by my Doctor just to try not to go to emergency. But what else can one do if they have no idea what the problem is..
JeanneP

jane

Sue...lots of people lose/misplace their credit card and you did the right thing. Called immediately and canceled it.  That's what's important...you did the right thing immediately!

We had a nice lunch today with our Iowa-Texas friends.  It's always good seeing them, and he's slowly gaining some weight now that they know what his digestive problems are.

Tomorrow is a haircut day and then some more days without any scheduled appts, except for what we want to do!!   :smitten:

jane

SharonE

Jeanne, I went to the ER of the hospital.  All will be covered by Soc. Sec. & my supplementary BC/BS. I never have to pay for any medical things unless it would be something cosmetic that isn't covered and I'm not going to do that. I did have some spider veins lasered in my nose area and had to pay a good amount, but I knew that up front. It worked & then they grew back, so not going to do it again. Just use a concealer.  I also have a birthmark on the nape of my neck that I priced getting lasered. It was something like $3000, so I decided I would live with it. That was about 10 yrs ago.

Jane, hurrah for unscheduled days!  Glad you had a nice time with your friends.

I am still having lots of digestive gas that is very uncomfortable. Tried turning off my back control, but so far, no change. Will leave it off for 24 hrs and see if it makes a difference. That is the only thing different I've done. I'm not eating much because I get really bloated, even on a sandwich.  All the baking soda I've taken + the antacids have caused diarrhea too.  Just what I need.  Anyway, it is nearly 2 AM and I'm drinking a cup of herbal tea and eating some soda crackers.

I never went to the grocery because I felt so lousy & John's eyes were dialated from his eye appt, so I ordered online and will pick them up at 10:30 tomorrow.  I also have to take Bunny in for a urine specimen. She wouldn't perform at her appt.  However, all her blood work was good & so was her weight.  Quite a change from a year ago!

I hope you all are sleeping peacefully.  Sharon

Sharon....I sure hope you can get some relief from the digestive trouble.  How is the back pain impant working?

Jeanne...the ER here in town is at the hospital, and I've only had to use it once...when I fell down the stairs at 2:00 am.  I was also taken to the Brownsville Hospital ER by ambulance when I tripped over a display at Dillard's.    Like Sharon, the cost of both visits was covered by Medicare and my Supplement.  So far, all our medical things, with the exception of the refraction of our eyes and a special insole the podiatrist ordered for Ray, have been covered by Medicare and our Supplement.

I'm thinking maybe you don't have a supplement for Medicare, which would explain the bills...since you'd be responsible  for what medicare doesn't cover.  As I recall, they approve a certain amount of what is billed, and then pay 80% of that approved amount.  Without a Supplement, you are responsible for the difference between the amount they paid and the bill.

[And we all know ER visits are very expensive, which is why the push for people to have insurance and not run to the ER for care better handled at a doc visit.]

I know the private stand alone ER sites that have popped up in some cities are a different matter.  There have been warnings about these on TV...60 Minutes or one of those.

Have a good Friday, Buddies.   Lets hope NONE of us need medical care soon!! :D

SCFSue

Good morning!  It's almost 11:00 and I have walked around the 3 block track, had breakfast, read the paper, and not much else.  When I came in from the walk, found my CREDIT CARD sitting on a book which was the same color--so I didn't really need to cancel the card, but I'm glad I did because if I hadn't found the card I'd have needed it sometime.  So I'll cut it up and just use my debit card until it arrives.  As it was I used my local bank's debit card for grocery shopping at Kroger yesterday.  So my next chore is to cut up the card I canceled and wait for the new one.

I will go outside to my little mini-garden and pick some green beans for my mid-day meal shortly.  While picking up pears yesterday I saw that the bushes had enough for at least one meal.  I will microwave a slice of bacon and crumble it on top of the cooked beans.

It's pretty warm here this morning, going to be high 80's and maybe low 90's today.  I think after picking the beans I'll spend most of my afternoon inside.

Sharon, I hope you get some relief soon.  Has any of your doctors suggested a check of the esophagus?  Take care of yourself as best you can.  Big HUGS!

I need to go out to my little garden and pick those beans, so have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Sue

I have a Medicare supplement which Bob arranged through his MOAA (Military Officers Association of America) and it usually covers whatever Medicare doesn't.  This has been great for my pocket book, especially lately with the heart problems.

SCFSue

Good morning, Buddies.  It's 10:45 and my mail man just filled my mailbox--maybe my new credit card will be there although my CC company told me it'd be 8-10 days before it arrives.  Since I can't drive and go shopping alone, it really doesn't matter as my debit card works well at Kroger--the only store I visit!

I took a really long walk this morning.  We had rain again last night (rainiest summer since I moved to Auburn) and was cool for the walk.  I'm trying to increase my distance every day.  I take my cane with me and use it on about every 6 steps just to keep my balance.

I don't have any plans for today except reading and maybe watching a movie on TCM this afternoon.  I'm going out to get the mail from the mailbox and might e-mail Tim about my meds for next week.  He usually fills a couple of weekly pill boxes for me, but didn't this week.  He's in a lot of pain with his right arm and after we had lunch and went to Kroger he didn't check out my pills before leaving.

He worked as a plumber during college and after and the repetitive motion needed has caused the pain.  I filled the pill boxes for this week and am pretty sure I got it right.  I only take 3 daily pills--one is a vitamin--and I have a different box for the generic for Aricept which I filled as tomorrow is the day I start the weekly routine--so I filled the Aricept box, too.

Have a good day, Buddies.

Jane, I turned off the control for 24 hrs to see if it was affecting my GI problems. I found out pretty quickly that it has been helping because I had a lot of back pain till I turned it back on.  It's not a complete answer yet, but definitely a big help. I didn't know that there was a problem with the Urgent Care centers. I will have to check those out.  But I definitely agree, I hope none of the other buddies need health care soon.

My digestive problems are a little better. I talked to a nurse in the GI's office and she gave me some helpful hints as to what to eat and to take Gas-X which I had already ordered with my groceries.  I did get a good night's sleep last night for the first time since Mon. night, so that's bound to make me feel better.

Sue, glad you found your card even though you're getting a new one. At least you don't have to worry about who might be trying to use it.  Hope you enjoyed your green beans.  The doctor did an endoscopy which goes through the esophagus and down into the stomach to see if there were any abnormalities.  Everything was normal.

It's kind of hot and muggy here today.  I feel for all those playing and watching the PGA Championship in Charlotte today.  That's about all that's in our paper today--The PGA.

Hi to all. Stay in and stay cool.  Sharon

Sharon...glad you got a good night's sleep and know the implant is working for you.  Beano is a good thing to take, too...and I take 4 or so at a time when I've had a supper that may cause me bloating problems.
I think the ones to look out for are those labeled as ER or Emergency Rooms that are free-standing locations.  OR...ask when you go in.

Sue...good to get the pill boxes filled.  I'll do mine tomorrow morning.

Beautiful day here...cool and low humidity.  I ran to the Farmers' Market this morning and then home. My joint pain has gotten worse as the day has worn on.  Thank heavens the laundry is done. Ray took the last load out and folded into the basket.

Tonight at 5:00 is the Car Cruise that is full of restored old cars...and they go right past the house, so we'll be on the front porch with snacks and watch.  Others not on the route will be bringing their lawn chairs and sitting along the lawn strip/parkway/whatever you call that strip between the street and the sidewalk.
