Amy, I wished you lived closer so I could "drop" in when you are fixin all the goods, like apple pie.  Do you do cobblers, like peach and cherry.

Thank you, Hal.  OU meets Ohio State next week.  That may be a different story.

Amy, all I do ????? Today I did nothing. I ordered groceries to be delivered and gave them a four hour window, so spent most of the day in the recliner reading. I did have to put stuff away when it arrived but that is no big deal.

I'm going to skip Church tomorrow, that will be two Sunday's in a row, but God is with us at home as well as in the Chapel. I am tired from doing nothing, so will rest. Have a good night dear hearts. God be with you. June

Good morning everyone..

Gentle rain here this morning, looks like an all dayer too!

A day of rest here...we will go out in a bit for coffee/tea with friends and I need to pick up milk.  Our gas is also creeping up in price and to my way of thinking their is no need, just an excuse for more money in their pockets.

June, you encourage others, you share  your smile with others, you are just there for others like us in here!

Jane, my poor Border had a foot problem , I think it is an allergy and she has licked the fur off in one place. I put polysporin on it wrapped it up much to her dislike and gave her a Benadryl. Will make a vet appointment come Tue to see just what it is.

Coffee/tea is on the ready for those that want one along with hot lemon scones.

Enjoy your day everyone..

June, just received this in my email and it fits you to a T

"Somebody needs what you have to give. It may not be your money; it may be your time. It may be your listening ear. It may be your arms to encourage. It may be your smile to uplift. Who knows? Maybe just like that little baby, putting your arm around somebody and letting him or her know that you care can help begin to heal that person's heart. Maybe you can give a rescuing hug."

Amy, I hope the pup is OK.   What you said to JUNE is spot on!  And I'm going to copy the text and mount it with others that I try to live by.

Make today a good one!

Good morning everyone. It was cold here all day yesterday. Noone outside but I saw a few downstairs when I went for my mail. Complaing that the heat is off. I tried something, my AC has a heat setting so I turned that on and it sure threw out some good heat. I sat in front of it warming my back, felt so good. I have a down throw and put it on the bed and slept nice and warm.  Warmer this morning, in the 50's instead of low 40's. Raining, too. Not a great Labor Day weekend but tomorrow is supposed to be much better.

LLOYD  I do not know what my son bought but maybe it was a spinner. Glad you will be able to use the wax, too.

LARRY  there were a couple of towns near by that were down in the 30's Friday night. Even if the manager was in the gbuilding she would not have let the maintenance man start the heat. when we had our house we had a little fire on warm nights and I did a lot of cooking on the fireplace. My 3 still do that often.

AMY  I am lucky I can still make applesauce. I love Macs in a pit for the taste but they cook down too much so I like to mix them with a hard apple. The taste of different varieties is what I learned when I would take the bruised ones home from my son's orchard. He will be going over the line into Conn. to pick apples. I know he will bring me some.

Hi everyone. It is starting out to be a beautiful and sunny day.  By late afternoon we will be in the low 90's again and there is no indication of any rain.  I did watch a lot of football yesterday and all the teams I follow won including the two here in South Carolina although that game wasn't decided until the last few plays. The other two games were lop-sized scores.  We anticipate having our normal Sunday with Sunday School and Church and then out to lunch.  So this should be a very pleasant day.

June, it is an interesting thing how close we can become to each other via this electronic medium.  When I have had the opportunity to meet folks in person who post on these boards I have found it is just like a continuation of our daily communications.  Our recent visit from Beverly and Chape reminded me again of this fact.

Callie, the Oklahoma teams had a good day yesterday on the football field.  South Carolina, Clemson and Georgia are also off to a good start although South Carolina had a bit of a struggle at the end.

Amy, it sounds like you had a productive day yesterday although I expect it is a rare day that isn't productive for you as you do so many things.  It has been years since we have had a fresh apple pie.  Funny skunk story although I am sure it wasn't funny at the time.  I hope you can have a restful day and enjoy the coffee/tea with your friends.

Hal, I saw a bit of the Texas game and it looks like this may be a tough year for them. We are of the same mind about dropping in when that apple pie is ready to eat that Amy plans to make.

Gloria, I am glad you found that your AC would give you some heat in your apartment.  Being in the 40's is too cold to be without heat.

halkel

Good Morning Everyone.

Getting ready for church, so not too much time.  Hope everyone has a great day.  Gloria, hope you get warm. It is miserable when you are cold and cant get warm.

Hmmmm, warm lemon scones, deal me in.

JaneS

I'm home from church and coffee hour after that.  I thoroughly enjoyed the service and also the company after the service.  Now I'm in wait time.

There's an 80th birthday party for a very dear friend of mine this afternoon and I'll be there to wish her many more.  She's a very giving and caring person and it's time we all told her that.  There were a lot of years when she was the ONLY Girl Scout leader in her small town.  She had 4 troops....Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors.  That's just about all the girls in town between the ages of 5 and 18!  She was one busy lady!

Still rainy and cold here!  Feels more like Spring than Fall.  Make today a good one!

Amy, I just turned on the computer, and there was your kind message, that made my eyes go wet. The words you used to me, dear good lady, could be used for each and every one that comes in here to talk with us. I love you girl, and love being a part of our wonderful group here. Thank you !

Janie, I am saving the words of Joel Olsteen also. It is US !!!!! And I thank you again Amy.

Gloria, I have a down throw also, but it is put away on the top shelf. My problem is keeping my head dry. I am not used to this moist heat we are having and my head perspires more than my body does…miserable.

Larry, we are all like very close neighbors, but we all live in the same place…the Soda Shoppe. I love it.

Hal, I am so glad you made it to Church…I didn't..boo hoo.  I think this is the third Sunday in a row now that I have just felt I should stay at home. I have this fear of getting short of breath and passing out……and I don't want to interrupt a Service. So, I have my own prayer service every morning with my first cup of coffee. I read a page for the day from "Jesus Calling", another page for the day from Max Lucado, then several pages from my Episcopal Prayer book, I sing a hymn from my Episcopal hymnal, and some selections from the Bible. And it gives me great contentment.

Lloyd, I keep a bottle of Extra strength Tylenal on hand and that usually does a good job on any body pains the pop up. Have your Drs. told you why you have these severe headaches.?

Going to put my feet up,I put some peanut butter cookies in the hide  hole....just need a tall cold glass of milk to go with them.

It's been a busy day filled with the company of friends.  First I went to church and then to coffee hour and it was like being with family...these people have become as close as any family member can be and I guess it's because we're all there to visit our FATHER.

Then I went to an 80th birthday party for a long time friend.  She's such a special person but I didn't think I'd know anyone but her immediate family.  I was wrong.  I got to sit with another old friend whose daughter used to be one of my Girl Scouts.  And there were several other people from the place where both the birthday girl and I had worked.  It was a very pleasant couple of hours.

When I got home, I discovered that I had not turned my phone back on after chruch and there were several messages from my kids.  My Texas daughter had been in touch with my cleaning dynamo and told her how much I like her.  She told my daughter that she loves me and that she refers to me as "Nana Jane".  That's neat!

My daughter who lives here invited me to go to THE FENCE with them for lunch tomorrow and to their house later for a cookout.  Looks like another busy day!  Guess I better get to bed early so I'm bright eyed and bushy-tailed for tomorrow.

Hope you all had a great day today and that you have a peaceful night tonight and a happy day tomorrow.  Love ya'll!  And may God bless us, one and all!

Good evening, it has been a cold two days.  I have had the heat on.

Since I have come home from the hospital, I cannot get warm.  I do not what I would do if I could not control it myself.

June, I am also staying very tired.  My oxygen count goes very low, then back to normal.

Good night, all my sweet friends

Janie, I glad you had such a great day with family and friends.
Gloria de, Good night my dear friend. I pray you have a peaceful night and a better, stronger tomorrow.
My day has been  quiet, napping and reading. I did take one trip downstairs to return a library book and pick up a new one. Also got the weekly activities for the coming week. Tomorrow will be a quiet day here, no activities planned at all, and administrative offices will be closed too.

We had some very light rain here, but not enough to cool things down. The coming week is scheduled to be cooler. I do hope so. I feel that a cold shower would be nice, but I am just too tired to bother with it. So, off I go to brush my teeth, take off the patch, and go back to bed and book.

God Bless you all, I send you Love, Hugs and prayers, as always.

Good morning Everyfriend!  i didn't sleep too well last night so I don't feel really rested.  But I'll take care of that later with a bit of a nap.

It's another cool morning in Central PA, 48º when I got up and foggy out there.  It's a typical Fall morning.  We're waiting out Annie's pill and then I'll take a shower and get dressed in case the couch calls before they pick me up for lunch.

I wish you all a great day filled with whatever you wish for.

Dess HI bear det dessed, too as my daughter Cindy used to say when she was very small.  I have to make a quick trip  to the store before they pick me up for lunch.  I'm all out of coffee cream and napkins.  Ordinarily, I wouldn't worry about the napkins.  Paper towels work pretty well for that.  But I noticed the paper towels are also getting low.  Seems like when one paper thing goes, they all go.  Maybe I better check the bathroom cupboard.  I sure wouldn't want to run out in there and I already know the tissues are low.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone, rained all day yesterday, at times a mist and then a cloudburst. The sun is shining this morning and already up to 60°.

LARRY  I knew the AC had that hear setting but Saturday was the first time I used it. I used it a few times yesterday to get the dampness out of here. Even if the manager had been here she would not let maintenance turn the heat on. That is the kind of person she is. BUT she went camping for the week end so the last 2 days were not the best for that.

JANE  kudos to your friend. I was a leader for a Brownie group and a girl scout group. Sure kept me busy for awhile.

LLOYD  hope you headache is gone today.

HAL  glad I could at least read the words o that youtube. For some reason the last few days no youtubes I try to read the words I cannot hear. My speakers are working but not for that.

JUNE  if you were here you would really know what hunidity is.

AMY  that dog piece was sent to me by a lady who has a service dog, they truly love each other.

SANDY  cookies ad milk go together all the time.

GLORIA de  the last 2 days have been horrible here. I would have turned the heat on but it will not be turned on till the beginning of October.

Hi everyone. It looks like we will be having a very nice day on this Labor Day with sunny skies and a high of around 90 degrees.  I have to meet my son downtown at 11 this morning to take care of some business.  The rest of the day I will be working on Pat's main laptop as am going to restore it to factory condition and then put it back as close to how she likes it as I can.  It hasn't been acting right for sometime so decided this was the best way to address the problem.  It will likely take a couple of days to get it set up again.

I have read all of the postings since I posted yesterday.  It sounds like a lot of you will be pretty busy today and hope all can enjoy the holiday where it is a holiday.

I am going to pass on other comments today as need to concentrate on the computer restoration project this morning.

Good Morning Everyone!

Nice sunshiny day out and cool.  Almost feel fall in the air.  Almost.

Gloria, hope your weather warms up for you.  That silly manager you have will be old one of these days and know how old folks feel the changes in the weather much more than younger folks.  I know I cant stand the hot weather like I used to.  I loved hot weather when I was younger, no more, I stay under the a/c now days. You know you might check and see if their is a city ordnance on heating and cooling in your area.  Google it.

Watched some football last night and got myself in a knot.  Texas A&M blew a big lead to lose.  I swear some of the AM players were doing nothing but loafing in the second half. Grrrrrrrr.

Well coffee is ready, going to stop by hidey hole for some of those cookies of Amy's.
