Marking my spot
I can't wait to see the offerings!
Trish, some good ones and bet you have to wind that watch.
The painting was passed down to us when Larry's Dad sold his house and moved in with his daughter. He knew it meant a lot to him. When Larry was a small boy, he said he spent many hours just looking at that painting and imagining climbing on those rocks and exploring the creeks.
When Larry and I were dating, my mother used this good stemware the first time he had dinner with us. Larry was having a good conversation when he used his hands to demonstrate what he was saying and the crystal went flying. He was so embarrassed. My mother never said a thing but she never used it again when he was present. :) Years later we made a trip to Replacements Limited in Greensboro and replaced the piece he had broken (expensive).
Good subject--Good start!!
Thank you Jeanne Lee for posting for me. Should have explained it is a type of tapestry with raised needlework.
Junee, thanks for that information. I changed the title from "painting" to "tapestry". ;)
I finally took photos of some of my treasures that came from my mother & her sister.... still in the camera. Next time I will get on the ball. Lots of neat things to pick from, sorry about not doing my part! Shirley
