I agree with Jackie, those were all fascinating clouds.  I also like to take pictures of sunsets, from my front door

Since I live in a hollow, sunsets are a thing of the past, although we do have some pretty skies as a result of the sunsets.  I like to sit on my deck where I have some beautiful cloud formations - big, white, fleecy clouds.  Or maybe no clouds and a solid blue sky.  I'd have a camera full of clouds if I took all of the pictures, but they are interesting.  I'm not one to find animals in the clouds, but I do appreciate the contrast of the clouds and sky.

If you want "spectacular" look at the clouds that Shirley from Wichita posts.  Vicious clouds, sometimes.

There are lots of boats going out the channel at Grand Haven today.

I have never really seen shapes in white clouds. When they rise up and over the ridges in the foothills, you are seeing weather changes for the Valley. Having the mountain ranges and then the foothills encircle and shelter the valley means that you don't get most of the bad weather.

jackwv

Patricia, the white puffy clouds are quite common here.   Recall, even as a child, watching for shapes.
Here is a photo I had on the machine.   Now off to meet my son and later my evening walk.

Jack, we get so many of that type but our skies are a pale wash of blue. We get the really dark blue skies in the winter when you don't want them because that means it is not cloudy, so the warm air escapes and it gets really cold, really fast. The other main type of cloud is as if someone splashed white ink upon the skies, no depth or breadth to those clouds.

Photos anyone?

When we were kids and then when my kids were growing up, we used to lie on our backs in the grass and play a game that might have been called, "What does that cloud look like?"  We never called it any name.  We just played it.  Passed lots of lovely Spring, Summer and Fall afternoons and evenings that way.

Janie, when my cousins and I would sky watch at night, cont the shooting stars.  My best friend and I even saw two WWII bombers collide just South of us.  We thought they were dropping flares.

Mary Ann

Hal, when I was young, I recall seeing the Northern Lights from our front porch.  I don't live in the same house now but I'm in an area of many lights and from my deck, I cannot see any stars.  From my front door, I can see a moon and occasionally a star.  Progress isn't always so great.  And recently two buildings up the hill have installed bright lights on the side that faces our complex.  The lights shine brightly in our bedroom windows.  Tom has wanted to get a shade to cover the window but he's settled for a blanket right now.  It does keep the bright light out.

When I had the cottage, we'd go out on the front lawn, lie down on the grass, and watch Sputnik and Echo and others go by.

MaryAnn's Kendrick;

Jack, at a convention in San Antonio years ago the room we were in had huge paintings of clouds... much like your photo but every painting a different formation of clouds.  First time I ever realized that all those clouds had FLAT bottoms!  After than my eyes are in the sky when every I see those "foofy" clouds.  Sure enough, always flat bottoms!

Love all the clouds..... and we did have some beauties this week when I was in the car & no camera.  My cell phone doesn't do as good when in the car, need to zoom out & camera knows how but the driver doesn't.   :uglystupid2:

I took some more photos of Tom sleeping to show you, Mary Ann..... have photos since he was a baby sleeping on his back.  I'll resize & be back later.  Right now I'm too tired to blink my eyes.  Not enough sleep last night & #1 son came over this afternoon & did a bunch of fixes for me..... about 4 hours & I am "gopher" up & down steps, etc.  Tom & Tiger are off sleeping so they can keep me awake all night again.   :knuppel2:  Kendrick looks like a sweetie.  Are his eyes yellow?  Tom's are.  Thanks for posting, Patricia.

Mary Ann

Shirley, I think Kendrick's eyes are yellow.  I think I used to think cats' eyes were green, but I guess they're like humans with different colors.  He really is a sweetie, likes attention, but is not cuddly.  He's really too big to be a lap cat anyway.

I know I'll enjoy seeing pictures of your cats so bring them on.  (I like dogs too for anyone who is tempted to post a picture of dogs).

I'm tired too and ready to head for bed when I finish S&F.

An unusual one.

Wow talk about long blonde hair, and such a pretty face.

so_P_bubble

So you think he is pretty? lol  Very mischievous anyway!

Sandy

I thought that it was a boy wearing a wig!
Because it looks like a wig....
And that little person doesn't seem comfortable
with it!!!  (giggle!)

Right Sandy, that is Aviv playing around :D  He loves to surprise.

jackwv

Bubble, I should have known that was Aviv.   Don't tell him I thought he was pretty. :)

angelface555

Since I often start at the bottom and read up at sites, I knew beforehand. But you can tell Aviv, that I thought he was such a darling little girl and tell me how he feels about that? :)

Well I am glad we have that sorted, I thought it was " Lady Godiva "

angelface555

Jackie, it was the tee shirt that gave it away, right?

:2funny:

Shirley

Haha, Bubble, I guessed right away because when my kids were that age we found a black wig "somewhere" on sale & bought it for
Halloween.... & the 3 kids dressed up, one had a guitar so they did a Beatles dance to send their uncle (one of the early video cams).  Tell Aviv he makes a super cute blond..... but remember, blonds never live down those jokes!
   :rocker: :tease: :tearhair:

Vanilla-Jackie

Angelface...yes that was it...and no horse... :2funny:

JeanneP

Bubble. Now you also have a granddaughter.  He maybe would have made a cute girl. (he is so pretty) Other than that ugly wig. I always was putting my brothers clothes on as  young person. Just hated being a girl and my father liked me to be in pretty girl clothe andso I had the boys hidden outdoors.

Beautiful day, did some yard work, lunch with son, and evening walk.  Here is Mimi posing and always with the smile.

Jack, Mimi looks so cute.  You must spend some time every day brushing her pretty coat.

Love the lovely Mimi, Jack.   :smitten:

Have photos finally.  First is Tom, then Tom & Tiger guarding their territory.

When I get to Colorado I spend the first night in the Salida Walmart parking lot to adjust to the altitude before heading to the high country & campground... 8,000 feet up to 8,600 feet.  All the campers are lined up along the side where I too, this photo, quite a few of us.  New rules are only ONE night in the parking lot.  I usually park to look out over the snow covered mountains, this is looking east at the sun rise.

And almost forgot to show you a special cloud last night...........

so_P_bubble

Jack, Aviv would love to play with Mimi. Please bring her for a visit :)

Angel, Aviv loves long hair and playing with it.  He is always pulling his mom hair, trying to make new hairdos.  It can be most annoying at times, especially when trying to have a serious conversation with someone.

Beautiful cats, I am partial to Tiger.  I also had a Tiggy long time ago.

Shirley, I am so jealous... would love to be able to camp again.

halkel

Tisie, that cloud picture, cloud looks like it forming an anvil head and growing, top really looks angry.  Nice pic.

Cats wondering:  What is she doing now with that thing she has in her hand.

jackwv

Shirley, great cloud photos.   You get some mean weather, but would like to see those storm clouds.  Tom and Tiger look right at home.

Jean I will brush Mimi only once a week, very few tangles, and surprised at how little she sheds.  Now of course the Goldens always shed, but Mimi always looks great.

Bubble, am sure Aviv would like Mimi, but she does very little play.  She simply wants to sit and be petted.
