Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Sato...
...how lovely to have two keen photographers in the same household...now who gives who the best tips?.... ;)

We were joined on our walk for a short bit yesterday.  They avoided Mimi but I was surprised she never ran after them  (I did have her on leash)

They wanted you to adopt them, Jack?  :D Bring some treats with you next time!

Bubble, while they permit the feeding of deer, the park does not permit the feeding of ducks and geese.  They in fact drive them off.  They make such a mess on the paths and multiply so rapidly.   Miss the three on this photo that were here for several years, and wonder if Oglebay kept them around.   They are crested ducks.

They look so funny with that pompom like hat, and such deep orange feet.
Pity about the mess they make, they can be much fun. Some are quite intelligent and easily learn tricks.

I have never seen crested ducks in person, only in your photos, Jack.  Very interesting looking ducks.  We have mallards here, used to have several families, then the Canada geese came and while we have the ducks, we don't seem to have the little ones.  I used to feed the ducks and when I opened my slider screen, they would fly across the pond.  Again, the geese spoiled that.

The geese leave such a mess and we try to discourage them.  One woman across the pond would let her granddaughters play on the bank barefooted, also feed the geese.  I think that lasted two years and I don't know if the granddaughters outgrew the fun or if someone grew up and realized that wasn't a wise thing to do.  The woman moved away last summer.

It must be windy at Grand Haven because there are quite a few whitecaps.  I'm amazed there are people in the lake.  The site says the water temp is 48 degrees but it was 70 only a couple days ago; I think it must be a typo.

Jack, The one thing I miss about Ocala is the downtown park and pond with all the water fowl.  There were a few of those tufted ducks walking around along with wood storks and other various shore birds.

Joy

Mary Ann,  oh, that water looks soooooooooooo cold !  There was one surfboarder in the water and one sitting on the beach on their board.  Almost looks like a wintery day and the clouds are so wintery looking.

Jack, the duck pictures are pretty, but I know that the ducks and geese do make a terrible mess.  We got to a family-type restaurant near us that has a big pond and there are lots of the geese and ducks around.  But, you can't even walk down the grass to the pond without having to avoid their messes.   The kids don't understand when you tell them not to walk on the grass.  LOL

The tufted ones sure are pretty.

Bubble I once saw a site where you might buy the crested ducks, they are show offs.

MaryAnn I took a look and one nut was in the water.   I would  not even stick my foot in when that cold.

Jean I do like to see the ducks in the water, or a formation of geese flying by but on the walkways  have to be careful where you step.

Joy I know what you mean and several years ago Oglebay was like that, now very few geese.

Up late to the park, bright pretty moon, but did not take the camera.  Took this with the iPhone.

Begonia grandis, also known as Hardy Begonia, an early Autumn flower.
My wife took the close-up photo.

How beautiful!  It seems as if they have a mimosa fluff ball added to them :)

Mary Ann

Beautiful, Sato.  It is good to see photographs from your family.  I did not know there was a Hardy Begonia.

Sato thanks, but even with my camera I am unable to capture flowers like you and your wife, beautiful.

More great eye candy, thank you for sharing Sato and Jack.  I don't comment enough but I certainly enjoy all the beauty.  Thanks

FlaJean

Beautiful photos this morning!

Mary Ann

Sato, we don't have the colored leaves - yet - but they're on their way.  Tom and I were mentioning yesterday about the green of the leaves - dull green, not like Spring or Summer.  Your leaves are so pretty, but I can wait.

Great photos, Jack and Sato!  I did quit feeding the geese because everyone disliked the mess they made.  We just put a string (yes, string with little ties of bright colored tape to flap in the wind).... and the geese didn't cross the line.  I loved it when they brought their babies across the river when I whistled to "come & get it"........  Right now I am enjoying feeding big fish, catfish & at least one big carp.  They come when I whistle & stay right at my feet to wait for bread to come.  They flip & flop like tame fish in a pond, but are not.

Our trees are getting some yellow, the locust, the cottonwood are a different shade of green so will change soon.  I love this time of year but NOT when traveling.  Been watching the weather for central MO and still 80s some days & maybe 70s the next, with not real cool at night.  I love the 40s & 50s at night & enjoy fall & winter days when I can put on a coat & UGGs & always a hood with ski headband.  Guess I'll just put in clothes for all seasons & leave everything in until ready to winterize the RV.

Thanks for keeping the place running.... hopefully I can help when OCT is over.  So much to do around here so I just run away for a few days .....  this year really went fast.

The photo shows the delicacy of each exquisite petal. It stands proud with that blurred background, very artistic.

Thanks for such words of praise on my poor photo work, bubble.

Oglebay Fest this weekend.  Went up early to beat the weekend crowd.   This is just a sample.  Had Mimi with me and had to keep stopping for folks to pet her.  (she loves it)

I wish I could stroll around all those interesting stands.
The tents looks so neat and remind me of the "succot" cabanas we have this week for the current 8 days holiday.
But it all the goods yours seem more interesting!
