Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Photo showing the start of the kibbutz near the stream

[attachimg=1]

Lots of birds around... Chocky would have loved it.  Unfortunately I cannot match her skill.

Thanks for sharing...I would love to spend some time there.

Don, more than likely the cows thought you were going to feed them.

It is good to see you are both making the most of your time together, and after a rocky start.... If I remember Bubble, you were laid up with a cold or an illness for a few days, and Don had to find his own entertainment....But you have now both caught up with all these various hotspots, ( places that are popular, ) and the fun and enjoyment, is sure showing on your faces...

Ha ha, re, the card, you have to get up very early to " fool " me... ;D

SCFSue

Great pictures, Bubble and Don.  What an interesting place to visit.  Is it near your home, Bubble.  I know you live in a city, so am wondering how you got to the Kibbutz?

And I was wondering if this was the kibbutz your husband helped found?

No that was Hagoshrim, in Galilee,  the kibbutz we stayed with Don after Christmas two years ago.

So after all that sight seeing and before setting out for home we had one more matter to address: how many people can fit in a jacuzzi. The answer is not many, but it was fun finding out

halkel

Don and Bublle, you just got to love it, you made my day. :2funny:

Mary Ann

Thanks Bubble and Don for all of the "fun" pictures.  I know you've had a ball being able to be together.

The kibbutz is about 1 1/2hour drive from my home town - going north.

Sandy

I love the Jacuzzi shot...

I bet getting out is not going to be as easy as
getting in it!!      (giggle)

Tell ya what, you two would make marvelous tour guides.  I had no idea there was so much to see beyond the historical landmarks.  There must be a long waiting list to visit all the placed you've shown us.  For sure, it looks like you are having fun.  Sorry it can't last forever, but am grateful you have shared with us.

Not enough room in that hot tub/bath for any Naughty stuff. could not have the Jets running if it had any.  How did you decide which of you got in First of out.  Have to have help?.
Bubble. Where are your legs?
(Is this a April fool days photo?)  You 2 are good  on doing that. I am going to look at you faces again on your posting 2920.

Sad you had to leave but great you got to do it.  I read up on the Kibbutz and says about 700 people live there permanently.  Beautiful Dining building. I think I read that it started in the early 1920s. Private person . Does the government run them now?

JeanneP

Jeanne, the jets worked perfectly!

Yes we did need help to get out!  ;D   ;D   ;D
I did not cut my legs... they are there!

Kibbutz was fun, in those lovely guests cabins.
They are run by their elected committee from the members.  I suppose they do get subsidies or reduced taxes from the government but they are quite independent, each kibbutz with its own committee/

Bubble.  don't see any photo of you both getting out.  Which on came out first.  Were the jets turned on.  Gave a thrill.
Place did look so well taken care of.  Was the food good.
Can anyone just get reservations to rent a cabin there?  I did look it up but didn't read that part.  Nice to have places so close to home. Better than having to drive for half a day to get there.

I like your hair cut short like that.

What a sweet photo of Mimi among the daffodils, Jack!

Shirley

And she has that "Golden Smile".... perfect with the daffodils around her!  Happy to see you out & about, Jack.  Thanks for sharing your girl with us.

FlaJean

So sweet with her big smile.

JACK WV...
...I bet Mimi will find this all strange...as an ex-breeding dog, this will probably be her first time ever, out and about in our glorious Spring weather, her first time loose, and of her freedom to run and roam in our Springtime sunshine, amidst all these new flowers, and new smells, oh what fun....as they have only ever been use to kennels, and a life with the rest of the pack... although I think you had mentioned that Mimi had been more of a pet to them and enjoyed more freedom, so may had already been use to some home comforts....Your Mimi certainly now looks a happy and a more at home companion, it shows on her now smiling face..

Sandy

Mimi is so pretty sitting there (smiling)
amongst the daffodils !

Mimi thanks you for the comments.  I read about your travels but I am a stay at home.   Very fortunate with my health at 86, but other than yard work, my only exercise is the walks with Mimi.

Probably had not mentioned but Mimi has loads of energy at age of 8.   She is 70 pounds, listens well but get excited and wants to visit.  Someone can be a block away and she whines to visit.   Three weeks ago we exited my front door, she spotted a young boy and his dog and ran to join them.   Problem -   I did not have on a short leash and she pulled me down the steps.  Fortunately no breaks but bruises on one leg from the knee to the top of my thigh (no photos!)

I remember two neighbor ladies asking me if I was ok, and I assured them I was fine, and was going into the house, then I noticed an ambulance and asked why it was there.  One of them called for it,and they said I sat and talked to them and was quite clear I was not going to the hospital.  I do not remember anything regarding the ambulance or the attendants, but talking to the neighbors, going into the house and being surprised at the large bandage on my hand, and a little blood on my head.

Guess there is an advantage to being short, fat insulated, and having a hard head.

JACK WV...
....I will remember that next time I go down... :o  " Guess there is an advantage to being short, fat insulated, and having a hard head..."  Guess we are nearer to the ground...

...seriously though, it is always best to get ones head checked over for concussion, or the need for stitches... whether blood is coming from it or not.....Well, was it worth it for Mimi? did she get to meet the boy and his dog? seems she was in a real hurry and just wanted to take you with her... :dogrunning:

I hope you are now mending well, since your fall...

jackwv

Jackie, I am fine.   Mimi did get to meet the boy and his dog, and they said she was well behaved while I was being treated.  Hope we have many years together and love the Goldens  a smaller dog might of been more appropriate but love Mimi and here to stay.

Mary Ann

Jack, it sounds like you had things happen that you don't recall.  I'm glad you didn't have any broken bones.  I remember having a couple of falls where at my age, I should have broken something, but nothing happened.  While I think I fell "right", I also credit taking calcium too.

Mary Ann

Shirley

Bubble, I looked over every inch of the link & thoroughly enjoyed the thought that you & Don had been there.  You keep surprising me with places and photos that I would never have dreamed of after what I've read about the amazing land you live in.  I love history and regardless of where I am, I look through the eyes of someone that was there hundreds of years ago.  The years in England were fascinating, driving through the Flint Hills of Kansas I picture the wagon trains rolling across that gently rolling landscape and imagine how they struggled to get the wagons across the dry creek beds.  Thanks for sending new thoughts to this old brain, it's been a pleasure!

Jack, so glad you bounced & didn't break.  I understand about the not remembering, back when I had the flu & was coughing so hard, I found myself laying on the floor looking up at the ceiling.  First thought was, I don't remember getting down here, then I realized I had passed out.  I was sitting on a tall bar stool beside the stove, TV on, the oven door was slightly open so I must have grabbed that to ease myself down.  No bumps or bruises, but when I went to the clinic a few days later they insisted on an X-ray of my head and I insisted that my head was just fine.  Had to sign papers to release them of any neglect, but I would have known if the head hurt!  When I fell on the front porch the day I was to pick up the RV 2 years ago, I hit my head hard & whole back was bloody.... and the Dr did put a stitch in a few hours later when I called.  Don't blame you for not going in, we should know if we hurt!!!

Mary Ann, knowing how to take a fall is good, I remember hearing the words "tuck & roll" and I will automatically crumble into a ball & roll.  So far it has worked, when I try to catch myself with hands down to land on knees, both hands & knees come up bloody & sore.  Except for looking less than dignified, the tuck & roll saves my skin & bones.

Jackie, I went to the doctor's office as soon as it opened, 4 hours after I fell, didn't want to go to the ER as my doctor knows I'm not looking for pain pills or a lot of fuss, so he didn't do X-ray or whatever to see about a concussion.  I think they can tell by the eyes, I trust him to do what is necessary & he trusts my judgement.

Jack, when we had a German Shepherd she was always taking me for a ride like that, must be one reason I am not pushing to get a dog yet. I want a big one, envy you Mimi, if I ever found one like her I would weaken~

so_P_bubble

Jack I hope you are OK.  Mimi should remember that you are not 20y old!  But she looks so regal when smiling, one cannot put any blame on her.

JeanneP

Bubble.  Oh! that 1st photo of the Luxury Suite is Beautiful.  $300 a night. not bad but so many places to stay . You can find from  $12 a day to .I didn't see any higher than that.  Most seemed under $40 a day.  Can't go to Europe for that. Did not realize would be so many in Israel. I guess I never thought that Tourism that high other than the people living in the country.  One doesn't see advertising to holiday in Israel as much in Travel brochures.  I have seen up in New York a few listed.
Was looking a aircost. Even that is cheaper than flying to England at the moment. I keep watching. Not seen one all winter under $1300.  I remember some of mine over the years.  $299 return. I am about ready to think of the Cunard lines shipping again.  They now have 4 Queen Boats so getting Cheaper.  Love going that way. I made 4 trip on ships. I could live on one.  But no more the cruise lines they have here in US. Last one was awful. Just to crowded.
JeanneP

Bubble thanks.   You and Don also look regal when smiling, but remember you are not 20 :)

Jack.  Glad you are O.K. Did Mimi come running back to help you up.  Bet she felt so bad.  But she posed for you with a nice smile.  Bet your park is beginning to look nice now.  Ours has the daffodils blooming and some of the bushes but that is about it. Not looking in my back yard to see if plants coming up.  Have 4 Fraternity brothers from the U of I coming to clean the yard all up on Saturday. then I will work on the rest. Furniture need staining I know.

So true. None of us young anymore. I felt older over this winter but as its getting warmer I feel younger everyday.  Have a birthday on Wednesday so won't count it.
