While the sun isn't out, it is sure trying to brighten up the cloud layer and the weather app is showing 66^o.

Tomorrow I should be getting a new brace for my thumb which is giving me trouble this past week. It is not as hefty as the hand/writs brace I have and use at night, but it is a similar design more specifically for thumbs and heftier than those simple compression sleeves. The viewer reviews (as opposed to the "influencer" videos) show views of people actually using them doing things like typing, etc. I am so happy I saw fit to get an electric can opener earlier this year.

Who the heck puts potatoes in chicken and rice soup? Campbell apparently does in it's Chicken and White and wild rice soup. It is not a processing error; the potatoes are listed on the label. A while back they changed the ChiliMac soup formula. I don't like it so much either so I don't buy that now.

I was on the run from the get go!! Now listening to 27 pints of beet pickle jars popping! There would have been 28 but I saved enough out for supper tonight.Hubby doesn't care for them as a vegetable but I enjoy them. With what is left in the garden I do think that is enough. Debating on doing canned tomatoes and spaghetti sauce.

Rick, the birds really love the water container I put out for them, they not only dunk their bread in it but take baths too!! Lots of entertainment from the kitchen window.

Amy, my husband and daughter are the beet lovers in our family. They'd be salivating if they knew. I used to can, I loved my salsa the best, followed by pumpkin pureé.

MG, SMH, potatoes are cheap filler. I'd never eat Campbell's, its full of MSG, and not that much of any real food. I cook everything from scratch, organic.

Jane, so glad you are posting here! I especially love your checking in so frequently.😀

I did get 4 metal T posts pounded into that section yesterday and the fence stood up and clipped. I still need to replace fence sticks in it. I had to quit yesterday because I was shaking. Used up all my ATP. Today I pounded in one more T post, mended the top strand of barb wire with the fence stretcher and rewound a number of previous breaks in the fence that looked like someone had used them to get poached game out. Then I rewired all the sticks I'd had to take off to stretch the barb wire and clipped the wires to the T Post. Too tired to tighten the other strands today. I'll keep after it. Pushing laundry. Need to go over along the west fence and look for a spent bullet casing. Someone shot from there just after dark last night. Archery (poaching) season starts on the 30th. My guess is someone was trying to intimidate me into leaving so they could poach without fear of getting caught. Informed the Game Warden.

Good morning, another cooler, rainy day and I've got laundry to do now that the basic routine is out of the way. Nothing else going on until next week, so it's mainly catch up.

Jane, so very glad to see you posting again, and glad all's well with you and Cooper.

Amy, you put me to shame. Other than a few morning routines and some reoccurring basic routines, I really don't do much.

You can tell the season's changing. I've woken in the morning with a headache almost every day this week and have gotten my humidifier back out, cleaned and back to 24/7. It's a winter necessity this far north.

Amazing! It is still August, right? Fifty-nine degrees this morning. However, the weather prognosticator says it will heat up to eighty-one. It is still very humid.

I finally opted for a new bookshelf (no assembly needed) from Amazon for the entryway rather than picking up one my sister no longer wants. Neither one of us has a good back for moving it, and I am using a brace now for my sprained thumb. If she still has it later, I may grab it. All I have to do, now, is get my box cutter out and use that instead of the scissor-like thing I've been using. I miss the bench with drawer and cubby right by the door, so I will rummage around or buy a decorative bin or two. Also, I may pick up a few S hooks for the big industrial shelf so I can hang a few small potted plants.

The weather here is "what"?  When I get up in the early morning it's cool and by noon it's hot!  Oh well, I guess that's more or less normal.  No Cooper today so I took my walk alone this morning.  Frankie has the weekend off and she went to Maryland to visit her Mom.  I'm sure they're having a wonderful time togethere!

Good morning, 53 and still rainy. Morning routines, meet and greets, plus feeding everyone and coffee's at hand, so at 9:59, I'm back at the computer. I have a brunch date at 11:00 and a neighbor's Amazon package due this afternoon, and I may finally get the laundry building up.

It's so nice to see Phyllis and Jane posting today. And Amy, there's always something to do and little time to do it. Sometimes it's nice to sit back with a cuppa and just be still for a bit before diving back in.

Another fence repair day. I had a nice chat with my favorite game warden while down there. He was checking out some poaching activity from last night. Ron is here. He's finishing putting up the last of the ceiling insulation and plastic. Then he'll start porch grading and foundation prep. I have wood cutting to do. Its supposed to be a high of 90° today. Smoky.

Thanks, OLM. It seems a never-ending project. I got the new bookshelf up. Now I am considering which books to put on it. I am currently thinking that since I have a bunch of books about book history, bookmaking, libraries, word origins, and my remaining Latin texts, they will be a better fit in the living room area since all of my non-fiction books are out there. That will free up the shelf next to my computer of office stuff, etc.

Aside from the new bookshelf, I changed out the air filter, took out trash, ran the dishwasher and put the dishes away, fed the cats(x3), did some reading and watched some TV. In other words, a relatively slow, quiet day.

Oh, and I like my new thumb brace.

😆 It sounded pretty busy to me! I had to take several rests myself. First thing when I got back to camp I retrieved my supplies from Ron's truck. I ran sprinklers, started a load of laundry, then rested and ate. Next I plugged in the old chop saw and cut a landscaping wagon full of big limbs for fire wood, rested again. It was very smoky and 88°F in the shade. Hauled the wagon full of wood to the stack, pushed laundry, more resting. Discovered I was on my last jar, and the fresh water tank was nearly empty, curses! Hauled out all the equipment, fed dogs, filled everything, put all the equipment away, walked dogs, resting again! So mostly today, I rested!😆😆😆

Good (early) Morning, Everyfriend!  Since I don't have Cooper this weekend and I don't have to be ready to go anywhere until 9:45, it was my plan to sleep in this morning.  However, I woke up at my usual time and I couldn't go back to sleep so I got up!

Right now, it's only 66 degrees where I live and heading for a high of only 79 degrees!  Has Fall arrived or is this going to change?  I guess we shall see!

I love reading what all of you are up to and I envy your ambition!  I wish I still had that!  I do wonder where Denver is!  I hope she's OK!

I guess I better get on the ball and get something done before I hit the shower!  I hope you all have a great day!  Do what suits your fancy but don't forget to share it with us!  We need to know what your up to in your area!

Good morning, another inch or two of rain today and only 55 with a big high of 61 today. I do believe we've cornered the market on rain, rain and more rain. However, this is the old August, the cooling down before the snow comes.

Ravens are back in town from the mountains, animals are denning early, summer birds have flown, and you can see color in some of the trees. The other day I washed out the humidifier and started that running again. I can always tell when it dries out preparatory to winter as my throat gets scratchy, and I always have low level headaches.

I spent yesterday doing laundry, collecting packages for a neighbor, and having a late brunch with that neighbor. Other than that, I spent most of it on the laptop. I'm also back to my winter sleep schedule, early to bed, early to rise and a brief two or three am awakening.

Today's morning routines and meet and greets are done, although I've yet to start my coffee.

Jane, I'm another glad to see you posting again, you've been missed! I'm also glad to see Phyllis checking in more. Even with nothing earthshaking going on in our lives, it's still glad to see how everyone's doing. Jenny is probably busy with moving, and I've written but haven't heard back from MaryPage. That last is concerning.

There are few of us left, both on and off the web, in these turbulent times.

Starting out at 53° and the weather guessers say rain...well they have to be right sometime lets hope they are now!

Tiding up the garden and pulling spent plants to go in the compost.

Just have a binding to make and another quilt is ready to go. Now I can start on another.

Rick,these are goldfish I put in a huge water tote to keep the mosquito larvae in check but feed them fish food also.

AMY, what do you do with all these quilts you make!  Are you giving them away, keeping them for yourself or selling them?  If you're keeping them for yourself, your house must be covered with quilts!  You sure do make a lot of them!

I'm doing some laundry today and right after Frankie picks up Cooper, Cathy will be picking me up to go for a haircut and to pick up some "stuff" at WM.  I have a short list and while I sit in the chair for my hair trim, Cathy will start on the list!  I have to think hard before I go so I don't forget anything!

I'm glad to be be back with all of you, too!  I missed you! 

Good late morning, another day of steady rain, 56 right now and a predicted high of only 65. Meet and greets, morning coffee and everyone fed has been accomplished. And so, I'm back online.

Bathroom deep clean and kitchen floor are the only items on today's agenda. I finished laundry yesterday afternoon after lunch, in-between others trying to do that also. Five floors with a washer and dryer on each, so everyone trudges up and down, hoping to find an empty set if the one on their floor is in use.

Jane, I believe most of these quilts go to donations, cancer if I remember correctly.

Here's hoping everyone elsewhere is having a drier, sunnier, day than mine. I know my sister is still having temps in the nineties.

Patricia, I believe your sun shifted way East. It is not only sunny today, but low humidity, breezy, and 78^o at the moment. No rain predicted for several days.

Well, here it is 1:30pm and against all my intentions for the day, I haven't gotten much done. I think I'll go get the mail and take a walk around the block.

We did get some rain..about  10 minutes but some is better than none.

We are off to the city for an appointment,a bit of shopping then high tail it home.

Jane,the last two I have done are as Patricia said for cancer quilts. Now I would like to start something else...have Golden Retriever panels and would like to see what I can do with them.  Some quilts have also gone to family and friends.

Best thing about going to the city is coming home and back into comfy clothes.
