Good morning, it's still raining and we've had some minor flooding. We have two large rivers encircling the city and feeding a third, cutting through the city. That one, is expected to crest today.

I've finished my meet and greets, morning routines and coffee is almost finished. I did laundry on Sunday, and bathroom deep clean and kitchen yesterday. Today, is the whole apartment vacuuming. Does anyone else still do Spring and Fall deep cleans? I grew up doing it and have never been able to shake the habit.

Other than that, I don't have anything pressing until the third.

Jane, enjoy your day with Cooper. I used to see two or three of the dogs on my floor, or at least hear them going to and from their walks, but not lately. I hope they and their owners are doing okay.

Amy, I used to knit, crochet and hook rugs, but since my first computer, all that went by the wayside. I'm unable to do the long walks I used to do, either, and miss spending my summers at the sanctuary with all the birds and other wildlife. I used to go to Alaskaland, every fall to see the coliseum taken over by the quilt festival, but haven't even been to Alaskaland or the sanctuary in years. I've become very isolated.

Amy

Good morning..

Noticed all the trees dying from lack of water on our trip to the city, they certainly have had a bad year along with the ice storm.

All went well yesterday, long day but tis over now until next week. Today we are going to fence in the last woodpile area as Jesse has already started to bring in wood only at night.

Patricia, thank you for sending rian this way.I did hear of some wells going dry but so far we are ok.

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning,
I have a consult with a civil rights lawyer next week, to get a restraining order. This will be easier to prove than toxic trespass. I still haven't found a replacement Dr., but continue the hunt. Archery/poacher season starts Saturday. Fences mended, save for 3 T-post that were put in years ago that have sunk in the mud so deep only a foot and a half remains. They've drug the fence down with them. Ron will pull them with the tractor. Its a rain day. Morning low 68°. The high is expected to be around 73°F. We can use the rain!

Its a blessing to me to read what each of you are doing.

Jane, that must have been a beautiful morning walk.😊

The quilts sound wonderful Amy!

Patricia, I'm glad you have your laundry done. The march up and down for an empty washer sounds unpleasant. Have you ever considered a Panda (mini wash machine, for small loads, like clothing?

And for everyone else, 🙂! Stay safe, have a lovely day!

Good morning, another cooler, rainy day at 51.

Morning routines and meet and greets are finished. Coffee needs to be made, but here I am.

OLM, there are two elevators on each floor, but only one washer and one dryer per floor.  I live in a five-story building for disabled, independent seniors, and no personal washers and or freezers allowed.

Amy, I shouldn't complain, August is nominally a rainy cool down month preparatory to winter. And September follows, cooler but beautiful. We'll see if that happens. My sister is still in the mid to upper 80s. I could use some of your mid 70s and sunshine.

From the state fair,

Dale Marshall of Anchorage once again claimed victory at the Alaska Midnight Sun Great Pumpkin Weigh Off, securing his 14th overall and 8th consecutive title on Monday at the Alaska State Fair.

Marshall's winning entry weighed 18,20 pounds, a massive pumpkin by any standard. However, it was still short of his personal and state record of 2,147 pounds, which he set in 2022. Last year's prizewinner weighed at 2,035 pounds.

Alaska's growing season is known for its midnight sun and black glacial soil.

Well, this was a busy day!  Cooper arrived at 6:50 a.m. and he had his breakfast and watched me make my bed and get dressed and then we headed out for our first walk!

The rest of the morning, I got things done around the house and got myself ready to meet with some of the ladies I used to work with.  We try to get together for lunch once a month and I really enjoy the meetings!  We talk a blue streak and we try to go to different places each month.

When I got home, I was tired but I took Cooper for another walk and we both enjoyed it.  When we came back we dropped everything and loafed for a while and then when Frankie picked him up, I got busy again. and now...here I am...ready to hit the hay!  And tomorrow, Cathy and I have a trip to make to get some more things done!  Wish me luck!

I wish you all a great day!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to let us know how you did that!  We're interested!

Today was a BUSY day and I'm worn to a frazzle.  I don't have Cooper tomorrow unless Frankie decides to go shopping.  It's her day off this week.  I guess I'll see when tomorrow comes.  I'm going to bed early tonight and get some extra sleep.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a great day tomorrow!!  Do whatever suits you best!  Nighty night, Everyfriend!

A trip to the dump today and  after that we shall see if any baking gets done..plus DD to do.

Work is always looking at me...better get it done.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

I have two Doctors visits to cross off my list/ I don't like to post stuff like that ahead of time. Too many "curious" people in this area.  Good reports from both.

Good chilly morning!!

Temp is 37°  :yikes: but oh so nice compared to the fry weather we have been having.

Laundry day and it is looking good to put out on the solar dryer.  Baking to be done and a newrecipe to try out if time permits. Being a long weekend here the traffic will be horrible, so many in a hurry and no patience on the road.
Helped the neighbour load up her vehicle to go to the market today and will help her unload when she comes home. Both have health issues at the moment and shouldn't lift heavy things.

Everyone has been fed but fish and that will be soon.

Rick ,that is great news and a relief for you!

Patricia, we could actually  have a wee fire on this morning but a long sleeved pullover will help.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

I can hardly wait to get one of those, especially if it has been lowered to ground level.

Also - That is an interesting article.

We are up to 63° ,nice breeze blowing.  Went to put the second load of laundry out and the first load of blankets were dry!

Baking is done for today, may roll out pastry to be used another day...will see how the energy lasts.

Phyllis, this cooler weather makes one want to do things, where as the heat  zaps the energy out of me.

Good morning, cloudy but no rain, hopefully a good sign at 44 this morning. However, the rain will return Wednesday through Friday. Today's high will be only 56, but we'll be back into at least the sixties until the seventh, according to the weather gurus.

Morning routines, meet and greets, coffee made and Farrah's been fed with fresh water, so here I am. I need to water my plants, but that can wait until tomorrow. I water my cacti every three days, lost the smallest, but the other two are thriving. My largest, schefflera, is three feet tall now, and my spider isn't far behind.

We've planned another brunch and day of shopping for the third or fourth, nothing really nailed down as yet. It's beginning to evolve in a regular arrangement, as none of us venture out at night that much anymore.

Amy, we don't really have humidity here. In the winter, you really have to pamper your skin. With all the rain we've had, from last winter until now, I've kept extra blankets on the couch and on the bed.

Phyllis, so nice to see your post. Bubble, I agree, I had never thought about repurposing, but it makes a lot of sense. Now if they could do something similar with autos. We have electric cars, needing charges, but now they're ready to put drivers less cars into production.

"Self-driving cars, also known as autonomous vehicles, are not yet available for purchase by consumers. The combination of computer processing power and advanced automotive camera/sensor technology required to create a full self-driving vehicle, capable of operating safely in all driving locations and conditions, is still several years (at least) away.

However, if you want to experience a fully autonomous driving system, Waymo (a former Google project now spun off as its own company) operates a fleet of electric cars featuring self-driving technology. These "robotaxi" services are available in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco, and offer a glimpse of the self-driving future we'll all eventually have access to. If you're in one of those cities consider using the Waymo app to schedule a ride."

Hello Everyfriend!  It's been a busy day!  First we worked on the heating system in order to get all the rooms warmed up.  Last night, I opened the sofa bed because my room was freezing cold.  Cathy came over this morning and we checked it all out and set it where we hoped it would warm the whole house.  I did!!!!!  Tonight I can sleep in my bed!

And that's where I'm going pretty soon because Cooper will be arriving around 5:50 a.m. and I like to get up in time to eat breakfast before he gets here.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow.  And please don't forget to share it with us.  We're curious....or are we nosy?  Whatever it is we need to know what you're up to!  Good night Everyfriend!
