I'm singin' to the world, it's time we let the spirit come in
Let it come on in
I'm singin' to the world, everybody's caught in the spin
Look at where we've been
We've been runnin' around, year after year
Blinded with pride, blinded with fear
But it's daybreak, if you want to believe
It can be daybreak, ain't no time to grieve
Said it's daybreak if you'll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (sing it to the world, sing, sing)
Play it, girl (sing it to the world, sing, sing)
Singin' to the world, what's the point in puttin' it down?
There's so much love to share
I'm singin' to the world, don't you see it all comes around?
The feeling's everywhere
We've been closin' our eyes, day after day
Covered in clouds, losin' our way
Hey, but it's daybreak
If you want to believe, it can be daybreak
Ain't no time to grieve
Said it's daybreak, if you'll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (gotta sing, sing it to the world)
Ya sound great!!
(Gotta sing, sing it to the world)
Yes, and it's daybreak
If you want to believe, it can be daybreak
Ain't no time to grieve
Said it's daybreak, if you'll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (let's sing, sing it to the world)
Let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (sing it to the world, sing, sing)
(Sing it to the world, sing, sing)
Said it's daybreak
Can ya feel it? It's daybreak
Can ya see it? It's daybreak
"Somebody yell "One more time!" Ya may as well go all the way."
"One more time!"
Yes, and it's daybreak
If you want to believe, it can be daybreak
Ain't no time to grieve
Said it's daybreak, if you'll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (let's sing, sing it to the world)
C'mon and let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (sing it to the world, sing, sing)
Around the world (sing it to the world, sing, sing to the world!)

X So I don't get lost.
Thank you, Bubble, for this even with suffering a bad cold, and thanks for all you do for us, unknown, unrecognized, and rarely noticed. And thank you, Phyllis, for such a great graphic for Bubble to use!
Good morning...
Cloudy and chilly this morning with a temp of 32°F
I cancelled the vet appointment due to road conditions. A friend said she was 2 hours late for work as her road was a skating rink!
Today is a little of everything to do and we shall see just what gets done.
Bubble, what Patricia said. I love the graphics especially the curious kitten!! Hope you are feeling better.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! I've been up for a while. Having a doggie in the house who needs my attention in the morning is kind of nice. We've had breakfast and our first walk of the day and now he's settling in for his morning nap and I'm here.
Love the redecoration in the Soda Shoppe, BUBBLE. You do a beautiful job! I liked the curious kitty, too and the sayings were soooo true!
AMY, just in case you missed it on the old forum, I made your "Easy Hobo Supper" and I loved it. And there's plenty to love today...and tomorrow...and Sunday....and maybe even Monday! I'm thinking I might try freezing some of it!
Now I off to do a bit more office clean up! I'm getting there! But, like RICK, I'm not getting through the "stuff" in the store room!
I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.
Today is the WEDDING! God bless this day for them!
This is NOT a funny April Fools joke!!! Snowing to beat the band out there.........heard
a robin earlier and saw the little nubs of rhubarb peeking up which are now back under snow!! :tickedoff:
Jane, glad you liked the Hobo supper
Yes... God bless them on their special day..
I'm here and grateful "Bubble got up from her sick bed to clean our meeting place up". ;) Seriously, Bubble, it is appreciated and a for real thank you. Hope you are a tad better & up to snuff soon. Are the flowers starting to bud or bloom in your area?
Thanks to you, Phyllis, for the graphics. Wish I had learned enough to do all that but I did not & the last old computer that held PSP is barely working, only able to do a little work on old photos with it.
Weather here in Kansas off to a bright sunshiny morning but possibility of rain/storms by afternoon. The eagle just flew down river so guess I missed it's early flight looking for food for it's mate. I suppose she is on the nest, not sure where this year. I have not been up & attem as early as other years (blame it on Covid?), trees are unusually still right now. I fed the birds out front & have watched them landing in the tree & taking turns hopping down for their favorites, pecans, peanuts, grapes & raisins as well as the usual mixed bird seeds. The last bag had more sunflower seeds than normal & they are leaving a lot on the ground. The bag before than had too much cracked corn... the lack of choices of bird food really can be blamed on "delivery problems, maybe Covid".
Ah, Jane, sorry you couldn't be with the rest for the wedding but somebody needs to tend the home fires, right? They will be home with details & photos soon.
NO! NO! Amy, more snow is not a joke! It is time to plant & think summer.
It was a miserable weather day yesterday with heavy rain, high winds, and a tornado touch-down just about 10 miles from me. But, today is beautiful and sunny and all is well.
Thanks for your appreciation of the graphic and THANK YOU, Bubble for keeping up the good work even when you don't feel well.
I don't do PSP any more, Shirley. Bubble, is good at finding old graphics that I made 'way back. I enjoyed it a lot when I made graphics with PSP and then, later with Photoshop, but those programs were lost when my old computer crashed and I never updated and re-installed either program. Now I just enjoy what Bubble and Patricia do.
Waiting to hear from the grocery store that my order is ready for pick-up and that is all that is planned for today.
Take care, and get well, All.
Bubble, thanks for this:

Poor old Albert...
Wonder what he would have thought if
computers etc had taken over the world
in his day ?
It is nice having access to research at my
finger tips. But what good is "easy
access" if lies are mix in and thow doubt on
the truth of any matter?
I used to think how lucky I was
to be able to find the solution to
my problems or questions (Just GOOGLE it!)
I never felt the need to remember anything
that I found so quickly on the computer...
It went in my short term memory and vanished
when that run out.
Now my short term memory is flummoxed so
little ever goes on to long term memory..
I do best at remembering when someone starts
to talk about something.
That seems to open
up pathways to my un conscious where lots of
things are stored, but not quickly accessible.
Einstein thought that doing things over and over
again and expecting the different result, was
insane.
For me it just helps me to store
information in a place where I can still
capture it.

Thanks again Bubble!

:cup: :hello:
Good morning; clear today with varying temperatures of zero, plus two to plus three depending on where you look, and all report some snow due tomorrow afternoon! A long, fifteen-degree drop from yesterday's low.
Otherwise, nothing new here other than we seem to be a month behind on our weather. Mother nature seems to be in a snit these days.
Hi Callie! :coffee: :em31:
well It Is not Noon yet, so I can still say good Morning. But I have just been up for a short while. slept in good on the second try today. I will just eat a noon meal and call it good. sun Is shining very bright and Is 27º here now. hope you all have a great day just as you like it.
Lloyd
CallieOK you Need to turn that coffie cup over and spill that Little fellout before he drowens. Have a good day.
Lloyd
Good morning everyone. I did notice a first sign of spring yesterday, green sprouting up where day lilies are planted, nice. I knew no one was coming today so did not have to get up early and woke at almost 9am. Had to put cold water on my eyes to get them to open all the way.am thankful I get the help from CNAs but it is nice to have a day alone at times and that will be today, unless Mike shows up. Tomorrow Bill will be here, I am so used to him being here on Saturday mornings I really missed him last week but he wanted to be home in case his wife needed him, she had surgery on an ankle last Friday.
JANE sounds right for a new business, getting rid of unneeded stuff in someone else's home. I seem to have junk multiplying in here and that is crazy because I don't get out shopping anymore. I keep telling my family I do not need or want anything anymore, I like a visit more. I have boxes of pictures of my family and the names and some dates are on the backs but my sons have no interest in them. My daughter might but she is too far to look at them. I have a niece who might, she started looking up ancestry and her sister took over but she died a few months ago. I cannot face throwing them away.
PHYLLIS no one in my family had allergies and I had none to pass on. My daughter said you are never too old to start with them. When my Mom was almost 60 they discovered she was diabetic and that she did pass on for a few generations. I am the only one of my siblings it bypassed. I tell my 3 to let their doctors know there is diabetes in their grandmother on my side.
JENNY we had upper 60's and 1 low 70 a couple of weeks ago and the beginning of this week we had 3 nights in a row of temp in the mid teens. Took a few days for me to warm up again.
PATRICIA our official weather comes from the airport that is in the southern part of the state and close to the ocean. Here we can be 15degrees different-colder in winter and hot in summer.
BUBBLE thank you for the new month's page to fill up. Oh Phyllis that sundae is making me looking for a spoon to dig into it Yummy. Hmm, now who is it that likes frogs? She lives across the ocean from the US. That kitty better be friendly with the frog. Love the quote. When I have to reboot I send my grandson an SOS email. That way he knows I need help with my computer.
RICK glad you left a mark so you do not get lost.
Hope no one gets you with an April Fools day joke today.
Have a good day and stay safe.
Hello Everyfriend! I got a little more paper cleanup done around here today and some recipes copied and in my book to take with me to Cindy's and a lot of stuff disposed of. Cooper and I had 3 nice long walks and aside from that, I did a lot of reading of my library book!
On one our our walks, I spotted 3 clumps of daffodils blooming and I couldn't help thinking of the song we used to sing when I was little and that I taught to all my kids and grandkids.....
Daffy-Down-Dilly has come up to town,
In a yellow petticoat and a green gown...
Isn't it funny how that old stuff comes to mind?
Now I'm off to an early bed time as soon as I finish some stuff on the computer. I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow and may God bless us, every one! And may He watch over the Ukrainians!
Time to say "Good Night", sweet dreams & God Bless. Hope y'all enjoyed your day, been a busy one around here. I'm off to get the pjs on, having trouble keeping eyes open when 2 cats zonked out on either side of me. Callie snores very loud but Tiger's just peaceful.
Amy, you asked somewhere back this week how old the cats are. I have a photo on my desktop of 4 cats, taken thru a window when Callie was still weaning her babies in our back yard. Photo is dated 1009, the babies are almost full grown but since Callie disappeared as soon as the babies were weaned and she didn't return until after Cas died 7/2/2013, the neighbors that had fed her a couple years before she brought those babies to Cas.... no clue how old SHE is but the babies were born early 2009 or maybe late 2008. We had all 3 fixed & the neighbor had Callie fixed at the same time.
The smallest baby was hit by a car the week after her surgery, she was the wildest of the 3, never let us pet her but Tom & Tiger became "indoor/outdoor" that first winter when temps got down to 12 below zero. Tiger is about 13 but best guess for Callie is 16 or over. I'm getting sleepier so not making sense!
Cas rigged them up a little home with carpet to sleep on, a light to warm it & another carpet covering to keep the heat in. They loved it until something scared them & they wouldn't go in it again. We tried cages in the house but Tom went absolutely crazy being closed in. That was when I lost control of my life! Feral cats & fact they have been allowed in & out their whole life so kept their wild instincts, has a lot to do with their problems, especially Callie's refusal to use a litter box. I still have to put down the dog training pads for her (right next to a litter box).
End of cat tales (tails ;) ......... normal spring weather ahead, rain, storms hot & cold, little of everything.
When does everyone come home, Jane? Safe travels for all. My daffies are still blooming & I brought some in along with a sprig of forsythia. Sitting in a little white vase along with a small US flag, on the window sill where I do my bird & squirrel watching. Probably should have brought the rest in since supposed to freeze tonight.
Gloria, I do agree that some days it is nice to be alone, nobody setting any schedule for my time.
Good morning...
Chilly out yet with a temp of 20° but no snow .
Need to pick up our tax papers this morning after I do a bit of grocery shopping. Laundry to do and put some baked beans on to cook.
Shirley, the cats are a good age,.I think being feral is harder on a cat but do think yours have the life of Riley, they are well cared for. Kyle's sister had a Siamese cat that lived to be 29 yrs old.
Jane, now you have me going through nursery rhymes. Remember Itsy bitsy spider?
Here is your daffy-down -dilly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMZdSdISK-4
Gloria, thank you for remarks on using strawberries. I hope the plants I put in the trug survived the winter. I did give them a blanket of straw so we shall see when it warms up.
Patricia, Mother Nature pulled a fast one on us yesterday by snowing. Tis gone now although a lot of the old snow remains.
Better get ready to meet the day.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! Our nights around here are going down to the mid 30s and the days are up in the mid 50s. We have rain, wind, sun gentle breezes, clouds....It's SPRING!
AMY thanks for the song. It's a little better tune than mine but then most songs from ANYWHERE are better tunes than come from my mouth!
SHIRLEY, what you've done for the kitties is special! You've given your time and love and energy to them for a long time! You deserve some recognition for that. Here's something from me...
:congrats: :wave2:
Good Morning everyone. well the VA docter chainged my rutaine all around. so things are in a dizzey. It is 10 till 9 AM, and i can go eat now and do My vitals and send them along to VA. sun and clear skys here and 50º now. our three famley dumpster is piled very high, running over.the dogs keep standing on hind feet leaning on the dumpster taring bags open makein a mess all around it. Nancy takes her grabber out and pickes it up and re bagges it.the people that bought our trash service are on strike trying to get some benifit. I do not know why they did not go along with the sale of old tras searves. Have a good day.
Lloyd
Chilly here, too. Temp. was 37 deg. when I got up and a frost alert was in effect for last night. Sunny now and up to 50 deg. already. Beautiful day but the pollen count is sky-high and I was coughing and sneezing during the night so I agree with the weather people, for once.
My daffodils came and went early in March. Azaleas are in full bloom now and so are dogwood trees. It's a beautiful time of the year for all of the ornamental trees and shrubs but a really hard time for allergy sufferers. Glad your family doesn't have to worry about that, Gloria.
I must get some breakfast before it is time for lunch.
Take care, All.
Good morning from the Interior, I hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy and sane.
"Sane" is a stretch, Patricia! Jane, I have no doubt quite a few of you in here would be doing the same if a Mama cat GAVE her babies to you. Problem is that Cas was the one she gave them to & I am clean up squad! Thanks for the vote.
The sun is bright & fairly warm out, not like last week so will get out & do a few chores.
Lloyd, I don't understand people going on strike, if they can get something better why not just work someplace else? Not fair to customers to have to put up with the mess. On the other hand, is there any other trash service you can get. I wouldn't feel too loyal to any company that didn't provide service paid for!
Phyllis, I have a high school friend that lives in Andersen, SC with a yard full of azaleas, happened to stop & visit for a few hours at the right time. Her back yard edges on a large lake, gorgeous place. BUT, I need to call her & dread, last time she was not doing well. She has one son that lives "out west", not a happy future for her, I'm afraid. Her husband died about same time as Cas but sometimes "crap" just happens to good people. By the way, my allergies are over the top & everyone I know says the same. A bumper crop of plants & trees opening up all at once. Invest in Kleenex or Puffs!
Amy, I thought 18 years for old LaurenKat was probably a record, afraid you upset my train of thought, just blew up with your 29 year old! I may go hide in a corner. I drove past the Farmer's Market while ago & from the street could see quite a few vendors selling garden plants. I used to start my seeds in Jan & put tomato plants out by St.Paddy's Day. Always the Early Girls & Big Boys (Burpee's if I can find the seed packets the fall before). The family room in that house was 30' long & all floor to ceiling windows & sliding door on East side, loved that morning sun.
It has been a day!! Bread is in the oven and laundry off the line. Shopping was a breeze early in early out. After putting everything away we took the garbage in to the landfill, then down to Timmies and that was a huge mistake!! We were going to go through the drive through but then I spotted it!! A lady was at the rear of her vehicle with the back open and there were 8 cuddly furballs in a cage. They were Border Collie/Australian Shepard cross.. two left.....both males. I held one and he just cuddled right in and didn't move. Broke my heart to leave him. :( I am sure the lady will find them both good homes.
Amy, those would be pretty smart pups, from all I've read about both breeds. I'm partial to female dogs but know the males can be really lovey. I can't imagine life without a pet & when the time comes, the right one will show up.
I got a dumpster full of leaves picked up along my sidewalk & covering the flowers by the porch. If I had ALL the trees those leaves came from I'd be living in a forest. Too bad people don't pick up their own. The redbud tree buds are showing their color, ready to pop open. My Cleveland pear tree is about same stage, fat buds, but the Bradford pears are blooming. The blossoms look the same but shape of trees different.
Need to check weather for in the morning, it was warmer than I thought supposed to be today. I tell Google to set the alarm for 5:00am Sunday mornings but don't leave the house until 7:00... After church we all go to McDonald's for breakfast so about 9:30 by the time I get back home. Still coat weather at that time, sometimes a light coat.
Sweet dreams & God Bless... nobody will need to rock me to sleep tonight.
I did a lot more cleaning out of office papers today and that's about all I got done of any importance. I made a pretty good salad cleaned the kitchen and took Cooper for 3 nice long walks. The only other thing I did was read my library book. I have 32 pages left to finish it and my eyes said "NO"!
Cooper has already gone to bed so I think I'll go join him. My kids sent lots of wedding pictures and granddaughter Courtney even Face-timed me on her cell phone so I could see everyone! It was a beautiful wedding and I wish I could have been there. Daniel said they are coming to Christy's for Thanksgiving so I'm going to plan to go there with Frankie and I'll get to see Edith and Mateo in person. Long time to wait but something to look forward to!
AMY, sounds like you ALMOST brought another doggy home with you!
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow and may God bless us, every one! And may He look after the Ukrainians!
Time to put out the lights and lock the door.
Good Night All
Good morning.
Between crows calling and geese honking as they go over the house it is impossible to sleep in on a Sunday morning.
Don't expect to see much if any of the sun today and we are starting out at 31° this morning.
A day of rest here..just make meals and sew.
Jane..have to admit I was so tempted..but 2 dogs is more than enough at the moment.
Shirley, Babe is a Border Collie x Australian Shepherd and yes they sure are smart!! Sassy was also a Border and Spaniel cross. I could send Sassy out to go tell Kyle lunch/supper was ready and she would bring him to the house. Jesse is a Labradoodle x SND ...the SND is a Sneaky Neighbour Dog....but he is also a good dog.
Rick, thank you for turning out the lights and locking the door.
Neighbour just phoned I get to look after "my" boy and give him his meds later. Rex is such a good dog and so easy to work with. Callie will peek out the window as I walk outside with Rex and when med time comes she also gets a bit of the wet food that I hide his pill in.
Better get on with the day.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning! It's going to be another "off-again, on-again" rainy day around here but the temp is already up to 42 and heading for a high of 49! So I guess Miss Spring is just showing her fickle side again~
Later Cathy is picking me up to hit the grocery store, I'm not sure which one but I need some stuff like milk that's running low.
I have to go throw on some clothes and take "Short Stuff" for a walk now that daylight has come around and then I have to jump in the shower and get MY day started. I wish you all a good one...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
good morning AMY and JaneS And all that follow after while. JaneS we have already toped your temp. we are at50º already @ 7:40 AM. sun is very bright, and not a cloud in sight. grass Is very greean and almost tall enough to mow first time for the season. Have a good day everyone. I am setting here in my office, watching the birds. I see two pair of robbine hopping around feeding. and severial little birds i do not know what they are. they have gray lower half and top half is black.we have three treas in the front yard real bushey and little limbs. it is amazig to watch the birds fly up and land on the top end of one of those little limbs , with them strightup and one foot above the other. Have a great day today and a better tomorow.

Good morning everyone, at least I think it is morning, No sun showing and dreary start to the day. Once again both my sons were here yesterday, I like that. Now if my daughter could get on Skype on Saturday morning we could all chat together.
I woke hungry and this cup of cocoa is not doing anything for me. No cereal for me, think I will try frying an egg and make some toast.
JANE seems like the more paper I shred or throw away the more I find to get rid of.
AMY other Nature is teasing us this year, We get a few sunny and warmer days then feel like winter is back. I have the thermostat up again and still feel cold. Just checked the temperature om the PC and it is 35°.
Ran out of milk so no coffee this morning. Called Mike and asked him to get some on his way home from church and he will drop it off for me. Not even half a mile out of his way. Hot cocoa just does not do it in the mornings, NEED COFFEE.
Have a good day and stay safe and healthy.
Good morning; glad to see everyone is making their way back! We were melting, took an intermission last night for a light snow dusting, and are at plus five presently.
It sounds like Mother Nature is in a snit everywhere, and indeed not a good start to the season! The ravens are still hanging around when they should have retreated to the mountains by this time. Since they cut down our trees in the back, I rarely see any of the smaller birds about.
Nothing is going on even at almost eight this Sunday morning. No traffic outside my window and none in the hallway. Last night our new neighbor was doing his usual argument with his wife wanting to be let into the apartment way too early in the morning. I predict they won't be here long if this keeps up.
I did have breakfast and my morning call and text session, and everyone is doing well but still frustrated at being at home. We're planning to go out shopping and for lunch tomorrow for those who can make it down from the ridges or foothills.
I hope everyone is having a good day with lots of good stuff happening or crossed off the to-do lists! Amy, I wish I was right there with you, loving on the neighbors' dog. The ones here are either very excited little dogs or ones who are working and not available for attention.
The green stuff blowing off my neighbors tree, covering my car and some of the porch.
We had some high winds the other night, which brought a dust storm, so there's dirt underneath the green stuff (pollen I guess).
Good Morning Everyfriend! I see this place wasn't very busy yesterday. I fell asleep on the couch with the TV on and when I woke up and let Cooper out in the yard for a bit, put dishes in the dishwasher and got coffee ready for this morning, I was ready for bed.
I finished my Jack Higgins book yesterday and if anyone likes spy stories, I highly recommend his books. Even when you finally know what they're going to do, to finish it off, you can't figure out HOW they'll ever be able to do it!
PHYLLIS, I now have the one you said you read.... "The Last Bookshop in London" to read. You made it sound interesting and I got on the list to get it from the library. I'll be starting that one today!
Today is laundry and who knows what else! I can read between the loads! I think Frankie will be home today. They flew into Baltimore yesterday and she stayed at her mother's overnight. I guess I'll find out today! I think Cooper is ready to see her. He loves me but he loves her best!
I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
Good morning..
We are to see the sun for a little while here..then maybe rain.
Not a lot on the agenda today just general work about. That work includes washing walls and a ceiling and grating up some cheese to freeze.
Patricia, as you know I love looking after Rex and Callie. In the Fall we wondered if he would make it through the winter and so far so good. I go out and watch him as he ambles about and every now and then up comes his head to see if I am still there. He loves to drop to the ground a roll back and forth.
Gloria, I hope soon we both get warmer weather. Not too hot but comfortable weather that one can work in say 70°.
Lloyd ,do you have a landfill site there that people can take their own garbage to? That might be a solution as long as they are not on strike also.
Jane, enjoy your day with Cooper.
Bubble hope you are feeling a lot better and your cold gone!
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Thanks Amy, I am still coughing a lot but I feel stronger though I still feel the need to lie down during the day. And Passover is around the corner!
I am lucky that my caregiver manages to prepare a lot by himself and the house looks tidy enough for when my son will arrive for his 10 days visit.
I too finally found my way back in S&F. What a relief!
Good to see you back and feeling better, Bubble. I had trouble getting back to S&F, too, but when I finally figured out how to turn off Plesk Obsidian which was requiring me to sign up with them...then I was able to open S&F in the normal way.
I hope you enjoy the book, Jane, as much as I did. I love bookshops and the story of the effect it had on Londoners during the Blitz was very uplifting. It is a fictional book but gives an accurate picture of what it was like back then, I think.
Take care, All.
I'm here, happy to see you doing better, Bubble. Know you will enjoy having your son around for 10 days & please, thank him for me for sharing his wonderful photos. They do brighten my life!
We missed the rain yesterday so I turned on the sprinklers this morning. Hard work. ;) Had my breakfast, cats fed first, bad influence 'cause they go back to sleep as soon as they drink their milk.
Wishing all a merry Monday, smile & be happy. "Folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be", quote from Abe Lincoln.
yes AMY we do but I am not going to put the garbage in the VAN,and we no longer have a pickup truck. I had a very long post Made and bumped the wrong key and the grilamins grabed it and I can not fiend it. I just got up at 8:10 AM , and have not ate yet. Nancy left me A note telling me she has gon to her docters apointment and left me asleep in bed. How nice. I woke up with My usual headace. and would not have wanted to go with her. It Is 46º and bright sun,and not a cloud in sight. Ijust seen a robben about 20 ft away in our front yard.there are severial little black birds walking around feeding in the yard also. God surs Made a beautifual world and filled it with a lot of beauty, didenty He. I also hav seen a very bright red bird.out here and a wood pecker working up and down on a tree. where I set in my office I can see part of the flower bed. And I have see none of those little snow birds picking somengthing out of it and it can not see me. Have a good day.
Lloyd
Good morning everyone. 37° and the sun is shining , sky id blue and some fluffy white clouds sailing by. My daughter was telling me yesterday that they will be up to the mid 80'sI sure am not ready for that heat, need the AC installed before that.
JANE last time I "hit" a market was over 3 years ago. That is something I miss doing, picking out the foods I like, not what the person shopping for me likes. Last week I asked the CNA to get me some red skin potatoes and she got me russet potatoes. I asked her if she was color blind.
LLOYD I miss watching birds like I used to. all I see now is birds flying over.
PATRICIA we had a blind lady living here with her trained lab. At times she would sit outside and take the harness off the dog and boy did he enjoy all the petting he got. She kept the leash on him but the harness let him know he was
off duty.
TOMEREADER in about another month we be getting pollen from the pine trees. We do have a lot of pines around this state.
AMY I can take up to 75 but when it goes higher with humidity I need the AC on.
BUBBLE you are always missed when we do not see you every day.
CNA on her way up here.
Have a good day, stay safe, healthy and Happy.
Good morning; cold here at minus one, and we're only going as high as plus 21 today. I did have quite a day planned as several of my friends wanted to come down off of their lofty perches (ridges and foothills) to gather together for lunch and a bit of shopping.
Unfortunately, snow is forecast today and tomorrow, so they decided to stay put rather than be stranded. So, it will be just the three of us townies teaming up for lunch if we can find a place open. Otherwise, it will be the cafe above the Grocery store before a bit of hunting and gathering.
I'm starting to have a bit of a grudge against mother nature!
well dont look like we had much activeity in here today. So I bid you all good night and sweet dreams
Lloyd
Nice day here but I was busy chasing updated Tax forms (1099s) Had to redo my final. Always a roadblock
Hi, 7:15 PM here and I thought I drop by to see if anything new has happened. We had none of today's promised snow but it was also promised tomorrow so we shall see. My friends and I ended up going to the cafe above the grocery mall as nothing else seemed open. Taxis and buses still require masks although neither clerks nor customers seemed to be wearing them. My one friend who had covid stayed fully masked as did the rest of us, vaccinated, boostered, and not dumb, we had quite a trick to pull the masks out enough to slip a fork or cup underneath.
All and all, a good time was had and money was spent. I ended up with two pairs of jeans and a gray tee advertising Levis and a second gray tee with an old-fashioned bicycle on the front with flowers in the basket.
Good morning...
Another cloudy day here. Picking up lumber this morning then waiting on a man to come and give us information and a quote on propane heating for the garage/shop.
Will try and finish up the kitchen walls etc are washed now to rearrange or throw out if past dated. the items inside the cupboards.
I did manage to get the van washed in the afternoon,a ton of dirt off of it and onto the garage floor!
Listened to a gaggle of geese go over at 2:30 am and wondered if their gps was working. :)
Patricia, hope you had a great time out with your friends.
Jane, you must have been tuckered you didn't sign in last night.
Gloria, David called from Little Rock on his way to TX and said he was going into 90° weather.......ugh...was all I could say. Too hot for me!
Better get on with the day.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! AMY, you are right! I was tuckered last night. Frankie picked up Cooper around 7 p.m. and I sure do miss having him around. But there was no one to keep me awake or take up space on the couch last night so my eyes went into slam shut mode and when I woke up, I staggered around turning off lights and just headed for the bedroom
I did manage to finish the laundry yesterday. It took 4 loads and I couldn't help thinking of the days when the kids were all home and growing up and if I only had 10 loads, it felt good. Seemed like laundry was a big part of my life back then!
Frankie will be back today to give Cooper a bath. She doesn't have a tub in her apartment so she does that over here! And I think she's planning a trip to the grocery store so Coops and I might have a little time together today!
I have the couch cover in the washer and I just heard it stop so I better get it in the dryer.
All my traveling kids are home again and they all said the wedding was beautiful and
my new granddaughter and greatgrandson are the best. Daniel waited just long enough!
Now I have to get to work. I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
JaneS I have a ? for you .Is Cooper a human or a dog like a human.
Lloyd
Good morning everyone, when I pulled the shades up I noticed cars had frost on them, 33° now at 7am and I turned the heat up again. The sun is shining bright and that is enough to perk me up. Nothing new going on here, really a dull place to live these days. The witch is discouraging siting in the lobby, the talking disturbs her when she is working on the books and it is too cold to sit on the porch. At least I have a PC where not many do and I like to read so do not mind being alone.
Have no idea what time or who the CNA will be here today. No one yesterday. Wonder if this company will be the next one to close down.
Have a good day and stay healthy and safe.
Gloria, why can't the witch shut her door?? I am sure those that don't have a computer like to mingle and talk with others.
Floors are washed, just waiting on the man to come and then I am also washing. Someone piled a lot of clothes in the basket!!! Plus I have two dog quilts to do..
Work is never ending..
We're in the 50s this morning & feels downright balmy! Got the sprinklers running, we are in a "fire mode" again (already). We didn't get the the last rain & wind does suck up the moisture fast.
Jane, glad the birds are all back in the nest & all went as planned. You do more laundry than anyone I know! When we lived out west of town we had septic tanks so had to be so careful how much water we used.... until we "plumbed" the washer straight out to a ditch next to the garden & used a huge black hose/pipe that rolled up when not in use. Pain in the neck but worked. Since the washer was connected to a water softner we had to be careful how much of that water reached into the garden.
Amy, when my husband built a workshop behind the house we built, he ended up putting in a replica of the old Boxwood stove & burned all the left over pieces of lumber (& more). It didn't get used a lot, the workshop ended up with a pool table in & a plywood cover that turned it into a ping pong table that got equal use from our sons & neighbors. The other end of the building housed his riding mower. I'm dreading getting the motorhome tank filled because someone said propane has "gone out of sight". I left the valve on after getting it checked out a year or so ago (leaked), the repair guys didn't find a thing wrong & thought a "fluke" leak. I didn't get it filled back full so they could test, but I smelled it a few days ago & #1 son says something about air pressure can cause to leak out if left on.... so I checked, turned it off & no more leak. All the things I don't know about everything.
Rick, had my taxes done weeks ago & just discovered the papers I couldn't find when I went to his office. I had put them on my "everything table" & covered with something else. Tax man has been doing them since Cas died so all previous years on his computer & was comfortable he could fill in the gaps with the extra papers I took. Good luck with yours.
Gloria, looks like the wildflowers are in bloom, just Googled & the photos are gorgeous! Guess I'll have to settle for photos & go to MO when the dogwood & redbud in bloom.
Patricia, nothing boosts the morale better than shopping, especially a bargain. My husband used to tease that "my eyes glowed when I saw a sale sign"....
Lloyd, I've been seeing a different type sparrow at the feeder lately, can't identify it but do enjoy watching. The squirrels are putting on quite a show since I've been giving them grapes, raisins & peanuts!
Haven't had my breakfast yet so better get a move on. Have a terrific Tuesday (where are you, Callie?)
LLOYD, Cooper is a "human" with 4 legs! He is able to let us kow exactly what it is he wants and to root us out of our chairs to get it for him. And he lets us know how much he loves us!
Sunny and mild here today but storms on the way again tonight.
David and I have been doing household laundry today. I'm trying to wash up the throws and bed covers that need to be put away.
I received notice yesterday from the bank that my Federal tax refund is pending to be deposited in my account. I couldn't believe how quickly it came this year. I only filed the tax report less than 2 weeks ago. The NC tax department is always slow so it will be awhile until my very small refund from NC is deposited.
Take care, All.
good Mid day. well i used to be on skype and talked to peter winstanly dayle was great with the creamery. just like being in perison.I was trying to get up and haveing no luckI havent seen hem in a long time here or otheryse either. Good morning from the Interior, where the snow showed up last night and is still going. However, little to no expected accumulation. Everything out there is white, ground and sky at seven degrees.
I cleaned out and washed the fridge this morning and I plan on doing the oven this afternoon. The automatic oven cleaning is four hours of blowing air and noise and you still have to go in manually to clean! :(
Patricia,I agree with the stove cleaning. No matter what one does with the so called self cleaning we still have to work at getting it cleaned the way we want it.
Good evening. I had a very nice post here and managed t accidentally hit the "undo" button and it magically undid😩😩🤪🤪‼️
I had PT today so I am tired and sore, but doing all I can to get this shoulder working‼️
We are staying with the grands again this week.
I had problems getting in here and when I did there were warnings not to go further as it was a unsafe area.....or something like that. I certainly did not want any problems so gave up and tried again another day.
Terrible storms to the southeast......my son is in Charlotte NC and he said there were tornado warnings there most of the day. They even let the schools out early. Also talked to my SIL in Panama City FL and they had tornado warnings there as well. I hope all of you are safe.
I enjoyed reading all of the nice posts but right now I can not even remember what I said to each of you.
Take care and be safe EVERYFRIEND.
Jenny
Stopped by to wish you all a good night! I never know if the typing is going to go our not. Sometimes it acts like the keyboard isn't even hooked up and it drives me crazy! Tonight (so far) it's going as it should.
JENNY, keep working on that shoulder! It's going to get better!
PATRICIA, keep that snow in Alaska! I don't want any more around here!
PHYLLIS, congrats on getting your taxes all over with. That job gets more and more of a JOB as life goes on!
I saw some ads for shirts and hats today and one of the hats said "I don't know how to act my age. I've never been this old before." I loved it!
I'm heading for the haystack now! I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow. And may God bless us, every one! And may he look after the Ukrainians!
Rainy day tomorrow!
Gloria,
I think that the witch should
shut her damn mouth...
well, I can think it but of course
you can't say that ...
So I will think it for you ~
Sandy
Good Morning everyone. I have not slept over mabey 30 Min. so I just got up and came in here to see what if any thing is going on, every thing I see says yesterday. so I am going to go in the living room and turn the TV on and see what i can fiend in the way of a good moovie. see you all later.
Lloyd
Good morning
I have an appointment this morning to get a new rear wiper put on and my snow tires off and summers put on. Hope I am not tempting fate, I don't think there will be anymore snow but one never knows.
Phyllis, nice when everything works out quick like that and one does not have to wait long .I am thinking that maybe next week we will have some extra in our account as ours were sent in on Apr 2.
Lloyd, hope you can catch 40 winks later on today.
Shirley, we are switching from wood heat to propane in the garage. The lad came and explained it and one of our concerns was the dust from the wood cutting but he said the new ones are set up for that and have a lot of safety features built in.
Better get a move on here.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! This will be short today since Cooper is already telling me it's time for his walk. It's raining a steady rain and is supposed to last until around 2 pm so I suppose there's no use trying to hold him off. We'll be walking in the rain...and I don't think I'll imitate Gene Kelly's
walk in the rain!
Don't know what's up for today! I'll take it as it comes! I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
Good morning everyone. Remember the song April showers may come your way--they bring the flowers that bloom in May? Well we are getting the showers again today so I sure hope we get a lot of beautiful May flowers. From what I just saw on local forecast looks like showers every other day. At least today Fran will be here to give me a good back massage.
PATRICIA I have only used the oven in the stove here for baking a pie shell and browning the meringue on a lemon pie. When I used to bake a lot I had a small apartment size stove and now in this building we have the bigger stoves with a big oven where I cannot even open the door and reach inside. Most of the CNAs I get never baked and do not want to learn. They rather go to the market and buy TV dinners, not too healthy. In the big kitchen on the main floor that is used on special occasions when they clean the oven the have to shut the doors to that room and it stinks the first floor and even into the elevator.
JENNY I am so sorry you are still having big problems with your shoulder.
AMY just think if you get snow after getting the summer tires on you will have a good excuse to stay home and look at the snow out your window.
JANE if you do not want to Gene Kelly's walk in the rain how about his singing in the rain? Just don't splash Cooper when you jump into the gutter with all the water.
Have a good day, stay healthy and safe.
Okay, I was down to the last visit with everyone & it vanished. So much for all my wit & wisdom this day. :tissue: I'm sure it was way too long since cats ate & both zonked out. Stay safe, be happy & keep moving! Love y'all......Shirley (Hi, Gloria)
Good morning from an Interior that's plus-eight with cloudy skies. Our daily highs are back in the early forties and no snow's expected, so there's that. I'm so ready for warmer temperatures and the heat.
There have been signs where the offices are located in our lobby asking people not to loiter since I moved in 2013. They're talking about opening the main lounge next to those offices for an Easter meal cooked on the premises from some church donating time and food for our Easter celebration. I hope this means they later leave the lounge open for the residents (It's the only one with a kitchen.) and open the other four lounges.
There are some residents I haven't seen in two years with the prohibition against loitering in the halls. Everyone who doesn't have an outside destination remains locked in their apartments. It's simply the way it is. We've lost more to the pandemic, and I know it's been relatively high for our age group in line with other states and places.
This city doesn't only lie on the east and west side of the Tanana Valley, it also sprawls along the rivers and up the flanks of the foothills and a few ridges, domes, and outcroppings. With the mountains so close, the only ways out of the valley are by car, in the south and the west directions. My point is those living in those ridges and foothills are isolated, not only by adverse winter weather but also by the pandemic. That was the primary reason my circle started our morning chats and texts, and it has truly been necessary.
Good Morning! I didn't check out last night because the keyboard wouldn't work in here. It's working now but for how long, I have no idea. I'm waiting for Cooper's arrival and having my first cup of coffee. When he gets here, we'lll have breakfast together and then take a walk when it gets light out.
Today is an " Oh waddle I I do" day. I don't have a plan so whatever rears it's head will have to do. Yesterday, I got Emma's (my greatgranddaughter) birthday present all packed up and Cathy stopped by after work and took it to the UPS office. She's going to be 4 years old next week. I can hardly believe that! She is such a cutie! She looks exactly like he mother did at that age. The keyboard is acting up so I'm leaving now. Have a good day!
Good morning...
A liquid sunshine morning it is and will be all day if the weather guessers get their way.
Off to the city this morning Kyle has an appointment and he is also to go for xrays. That will about do it for the day here.
Jane, time for a new keyboard? Enjoy your time with Cooper.
Patricia, we are 46° at the moment but damp and dreary.
Gloria, snow tires really do make a difference compared to all weather ones. One set I had contained coconut shells in them!
Better shake a leg here..
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning JaneS AMY and anyone else that follow. It Is 62º i hav taken my vitials and posted them with VA and it is mostly sunny here today. I have not had enough sleep I am still tirde so I am going back to bed before Nancy gets the bed Made. see you all Later.
Lloyd
Good morning everyone. I am up I think for the day this time. even thow Nancy Had made the bed. I turned the covers back on My side and got in and got some More sleep. i feel some better also. except I have my usual head ake. N ancy cant just set down and relax, she is in the ketichen Maken some Bana bread.dont know why she keeps buying more Bannas than we eat, but she dose. the good side of that is in paitricly the youngest great grand childe loves it and comes and beg some of it from her. and takes it home next dore where they live in the other duplex. I am shure he shares it with all of the rest of the others. Have a great day see you all Later.
Lloyd
Good morning Lloyd, Jane, and Amy; after having a day of clear skies, we're back to snow dustings tonight and tomorrow. Amy, our high today will be 43, and presently it's plus 15. Other than that, some vacuuming, kitchen rearrangement, and laundry are all I have planned for the next few days.
AMY this is a new keyboard and it works everywhere except in here. It frustrates the heck out of me!
Quote from: JaneS on April 07, 2022, 03:30:57 PMAMY this is a new keyboard and it works everywhere except in here. It frustrates the heck out of me!
Is it wired, or wireless? If wireless be sure there is no other things between it and the computer. --- like a cordless phone setting on your desk, or a fan. If it's wired re-insert the plug .
Long day and I am more than happy it is coming to a close. The trip to the city went well ,did everything we had wanted to do.
Came home to find a dozen of coloured eggs on our door step. No, the Easter bunny wasn't here but the neighbours were.
Jane, that is mystifying for it to work everywhere else.
Time to put my feet up..
It's the end of the day and I'm ready to hit the hay. I didn't do much except walk Cooper and take care of his needs and play with him a bit. Then when he settled down for a nap, I picked up my library book and that was the end of doing anything else.
Rick, I've always had my keyboard on an attached keyboard shelf that can be pushed in and stored under my desk. At your suggestion, I took it of that shelf, put it up on the desk and...guess what? It's working fine. Maybe this one can't be used down on that shelf! When the computer guys come over next week, I'll have to check that out with them. Meantime, the keyboard is up on the desk and my chair is up in the air so I can reach it. If it keeps on working, you will be sent my thanks every time I use it! Keep your ears open!
I'm going to start all the stuff I need to do before I head for the haystack. Then I'm heading for the haystack! I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow, and may God bless us, every one. And may He watch over the ukrainians!
I cleaned off the shelf and put the keyboard back on it and tried to use it and it didn't work. I took it out, put it back up on the desk and it works. AMAZING! I think RICK is a GENIUS!
well It Is time for me to bid you all good night and sweet dreams. Have a good easy day. the rain last night and lot of thunder, but no damage have i seen.
Lloyd
Jane S --- Wireless or wired? From what you said I would guess it is wireless - and something is blocking or distorting the signal from it to the "Box".
My wife used to aim the TV remote at the TV but her walker was in front of her. It caused all sorts of malfunctions because of the signal (radio waves or IR) bouncing off the walker. Joan (of Sr Net) had a fan near her monitor and it did weird things. Moved the fan away and all went well.
well I ckecked in and do not see any thing new seince I checked before going to bed and this computer is not posting the propper day and time. so I am going back to bed and not worrie about it , see you all later.
Lloyd
Now we shall see what we shall see! Good Morning Everyfriend! The keyboard seems to be working fine on the top of the desk...thanks to Rick's suggestion! It still isn't working from the under shelf! I can live with this!
Cooper has arrived and had his breakfast and is waiting patiently for his walk. At least it isn't raining today! Right the temp is at 43º and heading for a high of 58 later today. The report says "partly cloudy". That's one more thing I can live with!
I have some cooking to do today and maybe I'll just sit around and finish my library book. I can blame that on PHYLLIS because I picked it our from her report that she was reading this one. Thanks PHYLLIS! I'm realling enjoying "The Last Bookshop in London" thanks to your "recommendation".
Now I better get going and get dressed so Cooper and I can take a walk. I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
Good morning everyone. About all I have been doing is laying on the couch with the TV on. My arms aren't long enough to reach the PC from the other side of the room. Of course it is raining again today. Those May flowers better be the best ever this year.
JANE I think we should all get one of those hats, so true, we never were this age before. Time for a new keyboard? I know how aggravating it is to have one not working right
SANDY I keep away from that witch as much as I can. We have so many hew ones moving in to replace the ones that left she has them to pick on now. You are right, if I said that she would come up with something to evict me.
AMY I so remember getting tires changed in spring and fall.
Time to have breakfast but think I will lay on the couch instead.
Have a good day.
Good morning...
Another wet day out there, the snow is fading fast now!
Need to nip into town to pick up some things for my friend then will take the day as it comes.
Jane happy to read your keyboard is working t, thank to Rick
Rick, the tv remote won't work either when the dog walks in front of you trying to change the channel either. :2funny:
Enjoy your day and stay safe..
Good Mid Morning everyone. Like they say a bad pinney always returns.I am back, went back too bed and got some more zzeys. I Am up for the day now. as soon as i get the morning meal, whitch Is cold cearil this morning. I am going to get the tractor out and put some dirt in the raised bed's. the tractor Has a front end loader one it. will be easy to dig up dirt and put in the raised beds. ours has four nilon tubs in it four ft square makeing the beds sixteen feet long and four foot wide. we have it setting in back of the house, close enough that nancy will be abel to walk around and putter in it as she likes. will be easy to reach the two foot to the Middle of it. I think we will put iriash pattoes in one tub. and mix up defferant veges in the other three.like lettice and beans and peas carrets and what ever else Nancy and grand childern come up with. down by the pond close i am going to till up a garden spot also and plant some sweet corn and some popcorn. and a little bit of Indain corn and some sweet patoies and some tomattoies. and what ever we happen to think of. we also have a walk behind self pered tiller so wil be reasonable easy to till and keep the weed's out. In the raised beds are a good waste tall, so they will be easy to till by hand. see you all later on today.
Lloyd
I HOPED you would like the book, Jane. And it gets even better at the end. With so many negative things going on around us it is nice to read an uplifting book.
We've had rain, thunder, hail, and bright sunshine this morning. The weather is crazier this year than is usual for NC.
Take care, All.
:coffee: :cat: :cloud: :study:
Rick, I need help fixing my brain, please! I think the wind has just sucked them outta my head. Any hope for me? :idiot2: :uglystupid2: :crazy2:
Made it thru the morning and seriously thinking about a nap. Did one load of laundry, up & down the steps to turn on sprinkler system..... crazy in this wind but it does land somewhere in the neighborhood so should help with fire danger. Supposed to warm into mid-70s tomorrrow & on up to 85 next Tuesday before it goes down again. BUT, frost warning for tonight! Time to paint Mother Nature a mix of red & purple, not a nice little ole lady this year!
Quote from: Shirley on April 08, 2022, 01:25:08 PMRick, I need help fixing my brain, please! I think the wind has just sucked them outta my head. Any hope for me?
Brains are pretty much random things. The best I can offer is to put your fingers in your ears when the wind starts blowing. On the other hand, ----- a nap never hurt.
Fast thinking, Rick, thanks! Why didn't I think of that????
:bonk:  :dontknow:
Not a lot of activity in here today. We had a bit more rain tonight but it held off until Cooper went home so I didn't have to walk around in it. I won't have him tomorrow because Frankie is off. She might come and take me to do a couple of errands tomorrow afternoon. I hope so but I told her to sleep until she's ready to get up or until Cooper tells her it's time!
PHYLLIS, I finished the book and I LOVED it. Thanks for the recommendation! I'm going to look for more by that author.
Now I'm heading off to the haystack. I don't have to get up at any specific time so I'm not setting the alarm. It probably won't matter though. I'm an early riser and it's a habit! I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow. And may God bless us, every one! And may he look after the Ukrainians!
Good morning everyone. Yesterday was another nothing day except I talked with Yvette for more than an hour. They changed her PT into a pool and it has worked much better for her. After all this time they thought the water exercise would be better I am awake too early. Coffee did not wake me either so I think I will lay on the couch and fall asleep to the TV on.
Have a good day and might get back later.
Stay safe and healthy.
Good morning
Doesn't look as though we will se the sun for the next couple of days but who knows weather guessers are not always right.
Laundry and friends dropping in later on. Need to get some sewing done also.
Rick, sound advice for Shirley. :2funny:
Shirley, hope the nap helped.
Phyllis I think the weather is crazy all over!
Patricia, gosh you talk a lot. :2funny:
Lloyd ,how did it go with the raised garden beds?
Gloria, when one owns a car there is so many things to fix/repair/fill up/put on /take off. This is the first year that we do not have to get plate stickers for our vehicles. They even sent a check with the money that we did pay for stickers last year!
Jane enjoy your day out if you go..
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! I'm up and attem and I slept better last night than I have in a long time. And that's all I have to say so far today. I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
Good morning, WORLD! I'm holding off on watering the yard since we had a freeze overnight & maybe some sprinkler heads might be frozen down. Don't need the water pressure to back into the basement & flood. EEK! Supposed to start a warm up later today so can wait, except the wind is already starting to pick up & was so still earlier. That's life out here in the flat land.
I have 2 new bags of Miracle Grow "for veggies & herbs" waiting to go into the trug. Got to pull the roots of the tomato plants out & that will be a struggle. Have my packages of lettuce, endive & spinach to plant, was SO good last year. Need to get my red wagon out of storage & put in garage, I'm too short to lift a wheel barrow so gave it to the neighbor, both sons have one. I had hoped to get the crepe myrtle moved & put the top layer of the trug in that spot.
So far I haven't found someone to work in the yard for ANY amount of money & won't ask my sons to do it since they have their own yards to take care of. The one guy I hired last year did more damage in the 2 times he mowed than I could afford. The neighbors came over to back me up when I fired him, he was such a bully they dared him to come back!
Better get moving. Have a happy day!
Good morning. Nothing new here other than keeping up with the day-to-day chores. It's like that old game of Whack A Mole! Every time you hit one, another pops up. Both Farrah and I are fine, although mother nature has seen fit to put us in a deep freeze for a week, and the last expected snow didn't occur.
Good Afternoon,
I've been reading posts but have been a bit OBE (Overcome by Events) and seem to time my replies just before Bubble takes us to a new page.
Have had the same temperature ups and downs as Shirley has, as well as the horrible winds. None of the gardening neighbors have put out plants yet - and Landscape Designer son says I shouldn't try planting my "pot garden" until closer to the end of the month.
My lifestyle is much quieter than most of the regulars here. I'm mostly at home by myself and am getting used to the "leisurely" pace. However:
This is the first day in (literally) a week when I haven't had to be ready for someone to come or had errands I really needed to do.
Hasn't been anything awful - just more than I'm used to. Had out of town company last Sunday afternoon, son came for "dinner-date" on Wednesday and, after putting it off twice because of weather, a friend came for lunch on Thursday. Had great conversations with all of these people. Had workers here Monday and Friday. Did necessary errands on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
Was planning to have a "leisurely" day today. Changed sheets, put in a load of laundry and ordered groceries to be delivered this afternoon. Then neighbor rang doorbell just as the grocery "shopper" texted that he was ready to start filling my order. Wasn't long until he texted he was "on the way" and neighbor decided to leave. So I was saying "goodbye" at the front door and "racing" to get the garage door open so shopper could bring sacks into the kitchen. They do not tarry!!!!!!
Now need to check bird feeders. Then - maybe - I'll settle in to read one of the four e-books on my Loan list.
I hope all the Soda Shoppers are having an enjoyable day.
The eagles I have been watching moved and basically abandoned their old nest.
SO at this site you can find a nest of Canadian geese which should start hatching about April 25th....such a treat. She is incubating 6 eggs.

Great link, Mycheal, I checked around & will keep track of that one. We used to have so many baby geese & ducks around here but hardly any the last few years. Not sure why but a lot of people turn their dogs loose to jump into the river & chase them & think it's funny. I used to have a camera with me to take photos to send "someone" because it is against the law, but like seineing the fish out of the river, they don't enforce the laws any more. I used to buy racks of day old bread to feed the ducks, geese & fish but quit, somewhere I have photos of the geese bringing their babies across the river for me to feed them.
Good morning..
Another cloudy day here, guess it is the suns turn to stay in bed for the day.
Yesterday our friends came and we had a nice visit and exchanged items. I ended up with a lot of fabric to play with...nice job.
A day of rest here..so I shall sew.
Shirley ,the geese are here and lots of them. We do get to see the fluffy babies a little later on. I have only seen one loon so far,I think once the ice has gone out of the lakes we will see and hear their echoing calls across the lakes.
Mycheal, thank you for the link. I have bookmarked it .
Callie, it will be another month or more before we can safely put items out. Jack Frost likes to linger or rather he wears out his welcome.
Patricia, we had snow pebbles yesterday and but the look of the neighbours truck we had more overnight.
Better get going.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
This will be a quick "Good Morning Everyfriend" Yesterday was "one of THOSE days" and I don't even have anyone to complain to. Things just HAPPENED! And now I have to go get my shower and start getting ready for church.
CALLIE, your week might make me put yesterday in perspective and get on with things. You really had "The Week that was"!!!
AMY, have a nice day today!
MYCHEAL, I couldn't see the link. It was too dark but I'm going to try again after I have my eye drops in and my focus is a bit better.
In the meantime, I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
GOOD mORNING GIRLS. and all else that show up.well it is 60º suny and clear here now. Nancy went to church and left me asleep in bed. I woke up and came in here at 9:10 am and took My vitials and sent them to VA. It is amasing how the Machine dose it. It is not hooked to any phone line. I just push the button to start It and it talks to me askes questions and telles me what to do. Like when to put the oxygen clip on my finger. and gives % of oxygan reading then when to put the blod pressr cuf on and tell me reading .and it puts what the readings are, and tells me it is sending them and when it is done. Have a good day everyone. see you all Later on today.

Good morning everyone. sun is trying to get through the layer of overcast, hope it makes it. It was raining when my son got here yesterday. Weird day. we were sitting in here talk and all of a sudden it was pouring and hitting the windows and sounded like it wanted to break the. It stopped and he thought he would leave in case the cloudburst came back. After he left I went to the window where I always wave to him when he leaves the building. What I saw surprised me. That hard rain was not rain but hail. all the grassy area and the roofs were white. When he went out he got a step on the walk in front of the porch and slid but luckily he did not fall. He picked up, up and yelled up to me that they were big pea size. Last night on local news we were n the news and they were showing the hail. This village in this town was the only place that got the hail. The sun came out after my son drove away. 30 minutes later it got dark again and we hat the second outburst of hail. On top of what we already had on the ground it really looked like snow.
AMY I well remember the cost of having a car.
CALLIE newsy post from you at last. You are still busier than me. I ether sit at the PC or read a
book most of the time, Of course I have the CNA's I have to keep an eye on.
LLOYD great they can do with connections these days. doctors can tell your health without you even boing to the office now.
Sun is now shining but the sky is a pale blue.
Have a good day and stay safe and healthy.
Good morning, it's seven degrees in the Interior, and it snowed yesterday into this morning. The sky is still totally white, so I expect more snow but little accumulation. Everyone is up, texted, cleaned, and fed, but that's as far as I've gotten this morning.
I had to reset my computer last night as I was having programming issues with my PSP, so today, I will be putting programs back on and, hopefully, a smoother performance. Locally, no one plants outside until Memorial Day. The way this year is going, it may be later.
Ya'll I forgot to mention the hatching of the Canadian geese should begin on or about the 25.. (six eggs)
This tree is about 80' tall, so cannot wait for a new experience them drifting to the ground.. Such super creatures
Mycheal
Good morning...
Making this a quickie as I am off and running this morning. Taking Kyle to pick up lumber early this morning then home to go to work with my neighbour. I have a feeling this is going to be a long day but I shall sleep like a log tonight!!
Enjoy your day and stay safe..
Good Morning Everyfriend! I'm up and about! Frankie spent the night here last night so I had a furry bedfellow and he's been fed and is ready for his morning walk. So i'm off to get dressed and take him where he wants to go. I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
GLORIA....HAIL? Please keep it there. I do not want it! We had a cold day yesterday and another one today! Please...not tomorrow!
Good morning everyone, looks like everyone has been busy except me. Think I should start calling myself LAZY I do feel that name describes me these days.
Something happened in here. Every day when I get here the opens to Bubbles post of her starting a new page to March 1st. It always opened to my last post and that was what I always thought it would be. I did go to my profile and looked at everything there and nothing looked changed. See. even that I can mess up with me doing nothing. Think I should quit the computer? As long as I can see and read a book I can be OK-just thought even if I went blind I could get the ones where someone reads the books to me. Sorry for sounding down, think I need a change of scenery break and Yvette back so I do not have to teach a cna how to wash dishes and counters are clean after dishes are done. Some acted shocked that I want the counters clean. Kitchen in so small I leave my rollator at the doorway and hold onto the counters to get around so of course I feel the dirt and sticky places on them.
I know I am a grouch so will be back when my mood improves=hope it doesn't stay. I sure don't like feeling like this.
AMY ever wish you could stay home all week without going out on errands?
JANE I think the weather we bet seldom comes from the east and then it is a Nor'east storm. Normal is west north-west or southwest.
Much to my surprise I got right in this morning. Sent an SOS to Amy last night when my computer kept telling me "this site is not safe!" & wouldn't let me even read. I'm joining Gloria's banging my head :bonk: :dizzy: .... if it ain't one thing tis another!
I went out to run sprinklers again this morning in hopes of keeping the young trees alive & found one stuck & pounding the neighbor's house. Not a good thing & will be honest, I have not checked when running for several times so no idea how long it's been going on. My only fix it to give a sprinkler a tap (okay, a kick) with a toe & it joins the rest going around. I may have tapped a little too hard cause the top blew off & went into Old Faithful mode. Had to rush back to basement (sure, rush) to turn that zone off and to top the whole hateful morning off, Fitbit didn't get me credit for going up & down those steps twice, not even once! I went down twice & up twice, that a lotta steps in a few minutes, besides having to circle my whole yard to sneak up behind that sprinkler to give it a kick. Busy morning for an old lady.
Win one (at least my computer saw fit to let me join y'all) and lose one. I really should get that exercise every day but I'm old & gonna go sit in the corner & suck my thumb!
Cats had their bowl of milk but I haven't eaten yet. All of a sudden it's cloudy & radar showing rain not far west. The redbud next door is almost full bloom but ones across the river not at all & mine are only half open, that's why I'm watering, they are too dry.
Have a great day, everyone!
I might not be around for the rest of the week. They're picking up my computer stuff to work on it in the shop and I'm pretty sure that's tomorrow...maybe Wednesday. The only contact I'll have is the stuff on my phone and I have trouble seeing that. I might try to read what y'all write but answering will be hard. And then I have company coming for the weekend and my computer back on Monday...I think! They'll clear all that up when they come by! But I won't be able to clear it up with you.
SHIRLEY, are you "kicking" too much! Maybe you should "tap" easier!
GLORIA, we're all hoping for the day Yvette comes back! She must be very good at her job! I know you miss her!
I think, while my computer is out, I'll give the office a good going over! If I can find the time!
well I hope you all have a good day and a better tomorow. It is overcst here andcloudy and 57º F here. we lost our bettle at the appola court. I do not Know why the judge changed his Miend, I suspect $$pay off. the fellow we got out of our house, said bobs pockets are deeoer than ours. Must be right. thank god and our grand deaughter and here husband got this place and put us in it. well we will be here untill god wants us home, and most days I hope that is soon. Life is not much funn any more. see you all later.
Lloyd
Good morning, another cold morning in the Interior at plus six. At least the skies are back to a watery blue from the weekend's white. According to local weather forecasters, we will have significant warming during the days, melting the snowcap and "ponding" the roadways, only to have temperatures drop during the night and refreezing those ponds and roads. This should be interesting.
Otherwise, nothing new here; daily chores, and computer rearranging predominate
My day and I have a lot in common ,we are both done. After getting the wood for another trug I went with my neighbour to give her a hand getting a house with 3 levels ready for sale. We worked non stop 6 hrs and had a lot of fun.
Tomorrow,my friend is picking up a quilt to take to the lady to long arm quilt it. This one is for my sister, she loves dinosaurs and cats, great combination! I was lucky to find a panel of dinosaurs and fabric with cat faces.
Time to put my feet up.
Good night Everyfriend! It's gonna be an early morning tomorrow for Cooper's arrival and then I have to get ready for pickup by DIL Sarah to get a few shopping chores done. She's been kind enough to offer to take me and I'm taking her up on her offer. I'll get most of what I need for Easter dinner. Christy will be here to help me with my part and Sarah and son Phil are doing some side dishes.
Anyway, I better get into the haystack and catch some zzzzs so I'm ready.
LLOYD, you're definitely not ready to go yet. Who would that little boy who loves you so much beg from? You know he'd miss you so don't even think those thoughts.
AMY, I bet your friend was happy to have you there to help her! What a nice thing to do!
I'm off. I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow and may God bless us, every one! And may he be with the Ukrainians!
well I am slow again tonight, Bidding you all good Night. good night and sweet dreams. hope to see you all tomorrow, In good haelth and spirets.
Lloyd
Good Morning Everyfriend! I'm up and attem this morning. I've had my coffee and I'm ready for Cooper's arrival. It's going to be a busy morning. I have to be ready for DIL Sarah by 10 and that means feed and walk Cooper, get a shower and get dressed and get something out of the freezer for lunch and get started on the cleaning for tomorrow's pickup of the computer and weekend company!
The temp today is supposed to hit the low 70s! I'll take it!
I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!
Good morning...
I did not want to get up but... dogs are now fed and just waiting on our friend to drop by. Need to go into town and pick up clothesline, Kyle uses that to hold the top back on the trug ,not letting it fall too far and stress the hinges.
Looks like laundry multiplied so will deal with that..
Jane, we had a lot of fun making the job much easier. Sounds like you have a busy day and a busy weekend coming up.
Gloria, yes, I would love to stay home...but there is always something going on.
Shirley, happy to read your computer is behaving. Maybe it was the site and not your computer???
Lloyd, too many people depend on you.....your wife, children ,grands and great grands , and we do also. Don't let that so called friend take anymore of your time up..he is not worth it....dwell on the good times in life.
Better scurry.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning everyone. Amy I will try to follow your advice. It is 53ºF and cloudy here this morning. we are suposed to this evening have bad weather moove in about 9PM. hail thunder storms. we need the moisture but can do without the Hale and bad weather. Like we have a choyce. Hope you all have a good day and a better tomorow.
Lloyd
It is 66° and going to 85° today so gonna be warm for sure! Storms tonight & lower temps the rest of the week. The wind is blowing the white petals off the Cleveland pear tree & the grass carpet around the pool looks like it snowed. The trees down along the river are swaying back & forth like dancing, tall & skinny trees with a haze of green showing. We made it through another winter.
Busy days ahead, going to fix an Easter basket for my sons & wife/significant other... just a couple dyed eggs each & some wrapped sweets, none of them eat candy anymore trying to lose weight or eat healthy. My daughter has her oldest daughter & family coming to their house for Easter but she will be in Wichita the next week. Everyone busy with their own plans & needs.
Good morning everyone, I am getting so I hate coming in here every morning. I get to S&F for March 1and have trouble getting to the current page. No idea why this is happening I did not change anything in my settings. Waste of time and my patience to get here. This has been happening about a week. After years of opening to where I last posted this is very aggravating. I am too old to get these changes without knowing why. Now you know I am really getting grouchy.
Having a Lunch and Learn here tomorrow. A new medical group opening in the city near here Doctors and NPs even transportation. I am getting so the NP I have is not doing much anymore. Only see her once a year and she no longer will talk to us on the phone. There is I one doctor here one night a week. We get more people moving to this town and less medical help. We had 6 doctors here before and all GPs. Bigger population and one doctor and NPs. I signed up to go, more for the learn more than the lunch.
PATRICIA Memorial Day is when people plant here and even then we have had frost later and even snow.
JANE Yvette is more like a good friend or member of the family than just someone getting paid to be here to help me. I had a couple that were OK while she has been out but most are just lazy and want to sit and do nothing and act putout when I ask them to do something.
I have to get my shopping list done so this CNA can go to the market and out of my hair for a little bit. I need nap already and she is here for 4 long hours. Now if Yvette was here for 4 hours they would fly by.
glad I am not the only one having a problem getting here to the SS every morning lately, If things are working good when changing anything thinking it will make things easier or better?
OK I'll leave before all of you with I would shut up and stop complaining.
Have a good day and stay safe.
Good morning. Our highs and lows have each shot up twenty degrees, and whatever melts we have during the day tend to refreeze overnight. There is a lot of road ponding during the days, and meteorologists on the news are warning everyone, especially those in higher elevations, to be careful.
The only thing I have going on today is to sign up for the second booster during the last half of the month. They will be coming to the door of those requesting one and request you bring a chair, and they will have a cart and a minder to handle everything in the hallway. This is good news as the second variant since Omicron was recognized recently.
This city itself is only recognized as 33 thousand, yet inside city limits, uncounted; are portions of two military bases with two others close by. We also have a forested swatch of the wildlife sanctuary within those city limits. There are also those living on the foothills, ridges, and riverways within fifteen to twenty miles, so the area is over one hundred thousand while not included in that census population.
We have the people traveling to and from the villages, to and from the Bering Sea fishing grounds, and for the University on the ridge above our city. That is a lot of people and why we were the highest in the state for Covid for the last two years.
No expected changes for this weekend and the following week. Funny how we used to have seventy degrees and sunshine by Easter back in 2019.
Special Weather Statement issued April 12 at 6:04 AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks
...WARMER TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE INTERIOR...
The warming trend in temperatures will continue, with highs in the upper 40s to near 50 today and again on Wednesday, primarily south of the Yukon River. There will be a gradual cool down on Thursday and Friday, with highs falling into the 30s to near 40.
The warmer temperatures will help to continue the snowmelt process during the day, causing areas of ponding on some roadways and near some buildings in and around Fairbanks.

If you can't verify this is what you have maybe you can get someone there to help.
Good Night Everyfriend...for tonight and the next 5 nights. They are coming at 10 a.m. tomorrow to get my computer stuff and then not returning the new stuff until Monday Morning. So don't be looking for me. I won't be available. I can read what you write from my phone but I can't see it well enough to reply from the phone. And I don't even know if what they are doing to the computer will interrupt what's on the phone or not!
I wish you all a Happy Easter and good days coming up! Enjoy your time with families or whatever you do even if you do it alone! I had a good shopping time with my DIL this morning and we got a lot done. She told me if I ever needed her help again to let her know! I sure will!
I'm heading for the haystack and if I have time in the morning, I'll pop in to say Good Morning. For now, I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. GOOD NIGHT! 5 times! I miss you already!
Jane, we can't do without you that long. Tell Frankie we need her to post for you when she stops by, does her phone know how to do that? Mine does but I don't. :tissue: :missyou:
Jane, we aren't happy to see you go, but we'll be glad to see you back!
I'm sure you'll find plenty to keep you busy off the Internet, and we'll be waiting to hear about all you've gotten up to!
I'll be busy the next two days as apartment inspections are going on for this floor and the one above either tomorrow or Thursday depending on how fast they go.
Quick Good Morning Everyfriend! Cooper's here and he's ready for his morning walk. I have to jump into some clothes and take him and then when I get back, get my shower and get ready to meet the computer guy.
I also have dishes to put away from the dishwasher, a bed to make and lunch with my former office friends today. Gonna be a busy one! Enjoy yours! I'll be back when I can! It's nice to know I'll be missed!
Good morning everyone, once again I had to hunt for yesterday's post. I keep coming in to March 15. Since the SS is about the only place I come in here these days I just do not understand why. But then I do not know why anything in a PC works anyway and this PC is not all set up right yet. My grandson guru was doing good because his job slowed for a couple of weeks but now he is working 24/7. That is what happens when one is on salary and a boss on top of it. He also got me a new Kindle and got it started but it is at his house, glad I also have the books on this PC so I have plenty of books to read but only sitting here.
RICK your link is good but I mostly just come to the SS and that covered everything. I think my brain is telling me to just forget it and go have a nap.
JANE I have one great DIL who is right there when I ask her help but haven't asked her to take me shopping in a few years. Too hard on me to get out anymore but she comes here when I tell her I need a haircut. She does a better job cutting hair than some hairdressers I have had. Hope you get to see my Happy Easter to you before they take your PC away.
PATRICIA they are supposed to notify us 24 hours before they come to our apartment and they never do, They just show up at your door any day and any time. It is in the rule book but the witch does things as she wants.
Don't think I will go to the Lunch and learn downstairs later. Talked to the lady I had to call to register for the meeting. This medical facility will cover most insurance beside Medicare and Medicaid but not the one I have. I like what I have and am not about to change.
time to get breakfast, getting hungry.
Have a good day and JANE enjoy your time with no computer.
Stay safe.
Good morning..
Starting out at 39° and I don't think the sun will say hello today..
We have a man coming to pock up one trug, and the other is going next week when arrangements have been made.
Not sure what else the day will bring ,know there is a lot to do inside and outside.
Jane, you will be missed but you know who will be talking with you. :) Enjoy your day with your friends today.
Patricia, covid is starting up here again also.I have signed up for the 4th vaccine and I am sure we will be getting another in the fall.
I had better boogie or I will get behind in my chores.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning everyone. It is 51º here and cloudy. we had a little thunder boomer last night, not very much no watter puddles in the driveway. the wendis shacking the trees pretty hard. Hope you all Have a good day. amy how Many $$ dose your sweetheart get for his raised beds he builds.
Lloyd
Lloyd, I can't answer for Amy but here is a link to the one my kids bought me last year. I am sure Kyle's is much better. This took quite a bit of putting together & think it took 7 or 8 bags of potting soil. Pretty heavy work to build & move around. I had trouble lifting those bags of dirt so would scoop out the first half & then could manage the last 20 pounds with one "heave" & shake the bag! I had some delicious salads but not a single tomato to eat! I bought some off brand tomato plants that produced marble size (supposed to be bigger than my hand). So far this year I can't find the Burpee seeds for lettuce. https://www.gardeners.com/buy/vegtrug-patio-garden/8609777.html?VariationId=P_5637153228&SC=GGLPLA (https://www.gardeners.com/buy/vegtrug-patio-garden/8609777.html?VariationId=P_5637153228&SC=GGLPLA)
Darn, got busy looking for the link to my trug & forgot about the other post I started to everyone. Duh, can't think of everything! :-[
Gloria, I'm about in the same mood as you are with computers & phones. I do use my kindle all the time for solitaire "at the other end of the house". I wore mine out so my daughter came in with one she didn't use anymore.
After 85+ degrees yesterday the temps have dropped to 36 but snowing just to the west of us. Oops, flakes showing up here now but sun half way out.
I'm gonna go trim my hair, take a shower & see what Mother Nature has showing when that's done! Have a couple errands to run but need to catch the weather somewhere between heat stroke & blizzard, coat or sandels?
Good mid day everyone. we are at 51º and cloudy. sun sure is not trying hard to shine. In the night Last night we had loud thunder bumer's, but did not leeak any. it is still dry. we sure could use some moisture here. well we will get what god wants. weare going to live as long as he wants. good dayas long as god wants us to. have a good day. this computer is acting up again, puts crazey things on screan no matter what key you push. see you all later. It Is clouddy and 51º F here now.
Lloyd
either My computer is still not working corectly or everyone has taken long naps and then went to bed with out checking out, eitherway. I bid you all good night and sweet dreams. It Is 10:15 PM. Good night. I hope to see you all tomorow.
Lloyd
GOOD NIGHT FROM MY PHONE!
Good morning everyone. This might be very short. I fell on the kitchen floor yesterday when Fran the second best CNA after Yvette. Hit my head on the edge of an old fiberglass TV tray I keep near the counter. She was more upset and scared than I was. They are not allowed to pick anyone up so asked her to call my son. He was here in about 6 minutes. I did not want her to call emergency because I really was not hurt, she got a throw from the couch and folded it and put it under my head. There I did have a bump but not hurting. I did not have a nap in the afternoon as usual. Mike and Fran kept telling me to stay awake. Went to bed almost 11 last night. Woke early and stiff and sore. Need the rub I have so will have to wait for the CNA today for that and she really does not know how to do a massage. I tell her where I need it and she does the other side and presses too hard. She does not know left from right or where my spine is. She goes to the store and I told her I want 5 redskin potatoes and she gets me 1 russet potato. I print the list so she can read it--I cannot read my own writing so being careful to print and I ask if she can read it and she says yes. She is American so no excuse. I tell her like I have told all of them if I put a brand name for something that is what I want, nothing else=no substitutes. At least she is clean and not like the lazy one who sat playing with her hair and her phone. I always help make the bed on laundry day, goes faster mand that one told me to go sit down because I did not know how to make a bed. She could not understand why I wanted the sheet and blanket tucked under the mattress on the side she was making. It saves me the work of having to make that side every day especially on days I can hardly stand. Once I get a comfortable spot when I get into bed I do not move till I wake up in the morning. She called me a liar that everyone moves all night in their sleep. That one did it and I told her to get her things and sign out and go home. She refused to leave so I took my cell phone into the bathroom, locked the door and called the office so when I got done talking to her boss she called that lazy gal and told her to leave and go to the office. From what I heard through other CNAs they had many complaints and mine was the last one, she was fired.
JANE hope you got to check in before they took you PC to that special place to get fixed. Yes you will be missed by all of us here, even the ones who stop by and read but don't post.
AMY crazy government. new strain of covid and in the cities here they now have the option of wearing a mask or not in schools.
LLOYD there are times I wish I never saw a computer but then I would not be able to see and talk with my daughter every day.
JANE hooray, at least you can say good night from your phone.
Have a good day everyone, stay safe.
Good morning..
A cloudy day here ...we may see sun by 6 am.
Blood work today and phone calls to make for Kyle. Think I will make a big pot of soup.....seems to fit the day.
Jane, miss your post!
Gloria, take it easy today. Thankfully you had someone there to look after you and call for help.
Lloyd, I did send you an email. I am not sure if you have the same email addy or not?
Better get going, slept in.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
AMY I got your email and answered it, If i got it corect. I wish I could rember how to do things like I used too. If I got it right, I replyed to your email. and if i can catch my grend deaughter to help me I will take and send pictures of the trees i told you about in the reply to email. Have a great day.
Lloyd
Gloria I enjoy visiting with you here in S & F and I sepect the rest of the bunch dose also. It is almost as good as in persion.and we are too far apart to talk in person. and if we have bashes any more i do not know about them. and I do not travel any more, except local. I do not that very much any more. Nancy goes to town by her self most of the time.we are thinking about selling the RV. and just be home boddies. My head tells me i would like to travel still, But my bodie aces and pains say to stop driving any more. Have a good day.
Lloyd
Oh, Gloria, so glad you didn't do major damage when you fell. Major is hospital type but sure the pain kind will be with you for a while. With all the other stuff going on (like every day my computer needs to be restarted because somebody did updates)... I will mention how I get around "back to where I read last". Since MY brain insists on not remembering anything unless someone takes time to show me how, I have to come up with the backward way I learn how to. So when I come to Seniors I just click on the Soda Shoppe & scroll quickly to the last post and work my way back to what I've read before. Simple. ;)
Lloyd, I'm in the same boat with you about "time to get rid of the RV but my mind still wants to travel". This would be the best time to sell, except for gas prices. I know if I had a problem I'd have to call one of my sons to help and they really don't have time to drop everything to take care of me. I don't want to take up their time but they would do it without any hesitation. Nobody can decide for us, but if I get a reasonable offer mine will go. Right now it has 4 new tires & 2 that only have about 2 thousand miles on the front & had it aligned at the time so tread looks brand new. It also has a new rubber roof & all new "hardware" that went on top, thanks to hail damage & insurance.
Amy, quick prayer Kyle's blood work comes back good. A big white egret showed up on the river yesterday, always a sign of spring. Heard a mocking bird carrying on this morning when Callie went out so grabbed a camera for a quick shot as it sat on top of the flowering Cleveland Pear tree..... with the zoom I discovered it was a Brown Thrasher or Brown Thrush (we have both & I just looked on the camera & haven't put it on the computer yet, to see if it has the curved bill).
All of a sudden the trees are absolutely still, no breeze at all. Even the flag across the river is doing a half hearted flip, barely lifting to wave. Better move, I'd really like to finish my sleep.
Hey, Jane.... Good morning to you!
A good Maundy Thursday🙏
I am guilty of being a non poster and I apologize. So many warnings on here and having issues finding my spot. I read all of your posts and enjoy them so much‼️
Since I have posted my daddy had his 98th Birthday. I wanted to be there with him so bad! It just could not be helped, but it still made me feel sad😩
I got through my tests at National Jewish Pulmonary Center. They would not do my CT scan with contrast because it was not in my records that I had a adverse reaction to the dye back in 2006. Now I go tomorrow for the scan with no contrast‼️‼️ Most of the tests I did pretty well on, however I failed the sleep home study miserably and that opens up a new can of worms😩 The results at this time are that I continue with 1.5 liters of oxygen at night and 2 when I am walking etc. I am to get a portable concentrator however there are non to be had due to Covid‼️‼️🤪🤪
I will meet with the sleep doctor next week to find out her suggestions for my issue. It appears ANOTHER seep test but in the hospital with the ability to utilize the different CPAP machines that are available. I know a LOT of people on CPAP....I just did not want to be one of them🤪🤪🤪🤪
GLORIA, sorry you fell but thankfully you did not break anything. The soreness is not good and I hope you are doing better.
Your posts are missed, JANE, and I know you are missing being able to post. Hope your computer is back sooner than expected 🤪
My best to you all.
Jenny
Good morning; only nineteen degrees now, but that's the cooldown forecast on Monday. We should be warming up again beginning the 18th.
I wear a Medic Alert because of my poor balance. That balance caused my fall in February 2021 and my then 31-pound loss because it was several weeks before I could stand long enough to cook anything. It took 18 weeks to recover instead of the promised 2-4 weeks, and my left leg is still weaker. Falls are nothing to fool around with at our age.
The construction guys' quality control or assessment team came yesterday to observe their company's work. They fixed the bedroom blinds I didn't know needed and the vertical blinds at the balcony needed to be rehung, and the on-top control box needed to be taken down and reput up.
Then later, the body cranes were back, and they were redoing the outside bedroom window fastenings. It took all of yesterday to finish the top floor and most of mine. There are three and a quarter floors to go.
If this is their company's usual practice, the state went with the lowest bid. But what do I know, perhaps all construction companies are this way?
My fourth shot or second booster is scheduled for the afternoon of the 24th. They come and do it in-house, which I like. I've read that there have been two mutations since Omicron, and cases are rising again in Europe.
I did basic chores, cleaned my oven yesterday, and deep cleaned inside all the lower cabinets and cupboards in my apartment yesterday. I have an Amazon order with some cleaners and a kitchen utensil holder coming Saturday, so I wanted to have that done. Last week my motorized grout brush came. It has two heads, is battery operated, and did wonders on my oven. Next week I may try it on the bathroom grout, ::)
Jenny, please wish your father a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Kansas, that's I'm proud to see how well he is doing. Sorry you couldn't be there as well..... maybe next year?!
Sorry about the sleep/oxygen problem, had not thought about a shortages of the concentrators because of Covid. I've been mouthing off for 2 years that I think it's oxygen & lungs causing my short windedness.... but once labeled as "heart" they don't turn loose of a patient! I wear a Fitbit Versa 3 & it shows my sleep plus oxygen, first thing I check when I get up. I've always been a light sleeper (even when Cas was alive he felt better with ME having the gun in MY sleeping bag when out camping!) all my life so no surprise I get minutes of deep sleep when my kids get hours. Not ALL Fitbits have the same features but the sleep mode is reason I wear (besides keeps perfect time). Another reason for my being shortwinded is slightly anemic, a life time problem but my doctor has not agreed with me since the heart doctors took over. ::) I've been planning a discussion with him for quite a while, especially since my cardiologist retired at the end of last year & I canceled appointments with others since. In other words, I fired the cardiology team! :o All they wanted to talk about was putting in the new valve thru the artery and I didn't agree when there is a new one being tested that has NO time limit. I am pig headed, I know. The only CT I ever had was done without dye for same reason & they told me "about as good as with".... And that's all I'm gonna say about this for now!
Hey, Patricia, you slipped in. I think you are correct about "all construction companies being this way", they do what costs least & then make up when it doesn't work right. Sure wish I had your ambition to get stuff organized around here. I have bags of stuff ready to take to the thrift store but wasn't sure they were accepting clothes. Had dragged the woolens out when they were needed but past that time now.
I'm sorry about your fall, Gloria. I hope you are feeling better today and that the aches and pains will go away quickly.
Pollen count is high and so are my allergies. It could be a better day and maybe tomorrow will be.....for all of us.
Take care, All.
