Good morning, Merry Christmas to all and I hope all are having a good day! Now for a quick sprint to the new year! Bubble thanks for the information on Xmas! I always felt a little sad that some conservatives unfairly attacked it and caused it to drop out of use.

I opened my gifts along with others during a group text which made it more enjoyable and so much more festive, I've missed all our pre-holiday get-togethers, and this made it more like a holiday. We would have had our New Year's tea and cookies to look forward to and poker night that evening played with pennies and dimes, more gab than actual play.

Sandy

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

May you all have pleasant day
considering all of the restrictions
that we have now during the season
of Covid.

It is good to see People
returning that we have not seen
for a while..

Bless  you all
love

The dogs are asleep after squeaking an squawking their toys...silence is a lovely sound!

Met the neighbours at the fence and exchanged gifts. One of the gifts was a cast iron Pampered Chef cast iron skillet!! I can see a crusty loaf of bread being made in that.

We have enjoyed talking with family and friends. Now to get the vegetables ready for dinner tonight.

Why that label, Angel? I have known  people who objected on the grounds that X was meant as to erase the meaning and blot out the holiday. They are normal Christians, not particularly religious. It was the reason for my previous post.

In my days of typewriting before the invention of Tippex, I certainly used X to cover mistakes!

God morning..

What a difference a day makes in temperature. Yesterday one could go out with just a heavy sweater or light jacket but today it is +7°. We did get snow during the night..looks to be only  2 inches. Don't think it will be a snow blower day but maybe a stroll with the shovel.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas..we have lots of turkey leftover here, I can see turkey soup, turkey pot pie on and on..

Have some cleaning up to do and will just take the day as it comes.

Phyllis, happy birthday to your son. You did get everything over with in a short period of time.

Better get ready to meet the day..

Enjoy your day everyone ,stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Yesterday was a busy and a wonderful day!  Cooper has spent the last two nights here and Christy and her husband also brought their 2 dogs for the weekend so we've had 1 small dog, two "a little bit bigger" dogs and one large dog all weekend.  It's been different but they all behaved pretty well.

Yesterday, after the dogs were all taken care of in the morning, we had a really nice brunch casserole.  It was just the three of us here and Frankie joined us.  I found the casserole on line a couple weeks ago and put it aside to do for yesterday.   Everyone loved it!  It's a keeper because you get it ready the night before and bake it in the morning.  I wish I'd had it 50 years ago!

Then we took care of the doggies needs and opened presents from each other.  As usual the kids all overdid it on me!  They were more than generous!  But they loved my gifts to them, too so I guess it's OK!

Then Frankie left to go home, we cleaned up the kitchen and took care of the doggies again and packed up to go to Cathy's for dinner.  It's was just Cathy and Craig and Roelkey (Christy's husband) and me for dinner.  Christy and Frankie got together for some quality time together before Christy goes back to Maryland!

Then we picked up Christy and we all stopped at my son, Phil's house and since Sarah is still quarantining because of the 2 COVID cases in her workplace, we had a very cold, but loving exchange of love and presents on their fron steps.  Philip decided that he couldn't let Christy (his twin sister) leave without a hug so he came out and gave her one!  After we got home, we did a lot of texting! and phone calling!

Then, Christy and I discovered that Roelkey had never seen "Miracle on 34th Street" so we watched it.  After that, we all collapsed!  And that was our day!

I hope you all had a day that was this good!  Somewhere in there, we had face time phone talks with my other daughter and granddaughters in Oklahoma and my granddaughter in Texas and Christmas Eve with my grandson who lives in Phila. And a grandson and his family in Mexico.  Under the present circumstances, a GOOD CHRISTMAS DAY!

But boy was I tired last night.  I slept like a log!  I wish you all a good day today and a good year coming up!  I do appreciate all my friends....those I see in person and those who are GOOD friends in this place!  And if I wrote way to much, I apologize!  Enjoy the rest of this holiday week including the NEW YEAR!  And may it be a better one than the one we're leaving behind!

Merry Day After Christmas!  Sun is shining, to be nice today & have a cold front with ice & snow promised for a few days. Hopefully my daughter will get in & out of Wichita without any weather problems. We'll play the days the best way we can. Fitbit being contrary this morning, won't tell how much sleep I got. Have to see if it is in a better mood later. I did not get enough sleep this week & no naps to catch up so will work on it. My oxygen level goes down when I don't get enough sleep.

Such a treat to read about the Happy Christmas some of y'all had, I also enjoyed my day. Enjoy today.

Good morning everyone, had a good  time yes terday at my son's. Of course my grea t grandson was all excited. Gifts don't come till after the dinner. He sure was pa tient but as soon as we a te he asked if it was time for the presents. My grand let him pass the gifts out and  then was  time for his. Of course he opened a lot at his home before leaving home.
Of course it poured almost all day. I stayed as long as I could and asked son to  take me home, it was almost 4 and was glad to get home.  Turned on the PC just in time for my daughter to get on skype. My SIL is doing good and she looked less stressed, too.
I just about slept the clock around and was just having my coffee when my second son called from downstairs.
Time for lunch and I have not had breakfas t yet.

Looks like everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Let's pray by next year we can all ga ther together without being worried about the covid menance.

Have a good day and be safe.

A belated MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone.  I thought of you ALL on Christmas Eve and again yesterday, but I was a good girl and just enjoyed being with the family and not spending any time on my computer.  Thought sure when we got home last night at nearly 8 PM I would be able to get n and say HELLO, but I was truly wiped out and fell asleep in my "recharger"!

We were not able to buy our live Dungeoness Crab, So we had to break the 17 year tradition and have crab cakes instead.  They were tasty and all the family understood that it is 2020 and nothing has gone right this year.

Christmas Day was wonderful but quite emotional for me.  I felt so blessed to be with our son and family.  We were the only family members together.  The 3 grands kept telling us how happy they were that we could join them....it was very sweet.  There was a abundance of gifts and everyone really enjoyed the time together.  Dr. Dave had so many gifts from his patients....some of them so thoughtful and the words they wrote to him had he and I in tears.  I could not believe how thankful many of them are that he has treated them and they are now healed and healthy.  One Russian Orthodox Priest gave Dave his personal copy of a book that is clearly a book very special to him.  One lady gave him a $500 dollar gift certificate for he and his family at a famous local restaurant.  The words she wrote were so heartfelt.  One man gave him a bottle of rare whiskey that did not retail for a lot, but is so rare it now sells for many hundreds of dollars.....it made me so proud that my son is a friend to all of these thankful patients.  My heart was so full❣️

I loved reading all of the, posts and was pleased about many of your posts.  Thank you, BUBBLE for sharing the info regarding the X In front of mas.

Our dinner is ready and I must go, but I did want to check in and say HELLO.

Stopping by to say "good night everyfriend".  The "tireds" are still hanging on so I' off to the haystack to see if I can shake them.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy, germ-free tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

P.S.  JENNY, your son must be the kind of doctor that all of us wish we had!  What nice things his patients did for him.  You can be rightly proud!

Good morning everyone, down in the low 20's this morning. I would not have minded this on Christmas day better than all that rain. All that is left of the snow we had is gone except the big piles from t he plows.
Those are still there but dirty by now.

JANE  knowing you I bet it was the original Miracle on 3th st. that  was the best .

BUBBLE thanks for  the link to Shirley's pictures. Never realized beavers had such sharp teeth to chew the trees down to that point .

Today is my baby's 67th birthday. Boy do I feel old now to think of my youngest being that age.

Have a good day everyone. Stay safe and wear that mask and wash your hands. If I washed mine any more I would get the skin of.  :) ;D

Forgot to mention, on the 24th there came a knock at the door and there was our neighbour from the back line ,  with a fruit basket and hot cross buns for us!!Been a while since I have had hot cross buns and oh my they are tasty!

Gloria, sounds like you had a fantastic time on Christmas day...good to hear your SIL is feeling better. Gloria happy birthday to your baby . :) At least he let you stay home for Christmas before saying hello world!

Lloyd, I bet you were spoiled on Christmas day. Good food and great company of family will do that . :)

Jenny, that was so nice of Dave's patients to give him the gifts. Drs like that are rare as we did have one like that till he retired
.
Shirley ,that is one BIG beaver to be doing that cutting!!

Better get ready to meet the day.

My husband's birthday was the 27th of December, too.  The first year we were married, I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he said, "Why? Are you going to save out one of my Christmas presents?"  I told him he would get a real Birthday present and he answered, "If I do, it'll be the first time in my life!"  He did and it was!  I went out the day after Christmas and bought him a birthday present and a birthday card and I wrapped it in birthday paper and it was there when he got up on his birthday.  The look on his face was priceless!  I learned much later that his mother usually told him that one of his christmas presents was actually his birthday present and he almost never had anything to open on his birthday.

All the birthday talk, my sister's is Christmas Day and mine mid Jan... NOBODY ever forgot hers. Nobody ever (aunts, uncles & cousins even gr-parents) remembered mine (poor me), but we didn't get a lot of presents for birthdays anyway. We never got presents from any of the relatives by the time I came along, I had 60 some first cousins on Mother's side. On Dad's side we only had 6 cousins & 4 of them younger than I was, a different world today. My youngest brother's first born was on Christmas Day as well. I did realize as my kids & nieces & nephews came along, the first few got a lot more attention (and gifts) than was passed out as more & more showed up! Just a matter of people getting busier.

Need to get busy. Have the "kids" coming over tomorrow & plenty to do. Thanks for the comments about the photos.... since I gripe all the time about the beavers I wanted to show you what I'm talking about.  Many thanks to Bubble for resizing & posting, I would have gotten the job done.

we did Have a good chirstmas, only ones we had here was the ones that live downstairs. Nancy and I went to jeweler friend with a few Pearls and he switched some for some others that matched better and added some more and made necklaces for the two girls and she bought some toys for the two boys. all were very happy. Nancy and I bought the Kitchen aid mixer blender for each other, it has  a grinder that grinds wheat ,oats, corn and rice to flour and or attaches the front of the mixer. and the grand children got a meatgrinder that attaches to it that has a sausage sausage stuffer on it. so we can make our own sausage links and hotdogs that will not have additives we do not want in them it makes flour and corn meal freash.. have a good evening and good night and sweet dreams at a reasonable time today.

Good morning everyone.

Seems I waltz today with Mr SB. we have 5 or so inches and the snow is still falling. Looks fluffy so it will be easy to remove.

The day of rest yesterday was exactly that..it contained not one but two naps!! So after my dance today I will play catch up.

Lloyd, when my husband first had RA it also attacked his feet making them very swollen and I told him that is what his feet looked like ,little piggies up to a sow!! Hope you can grab a nap.

Better get ready for the dance..

Good (very late) morning Everyfriend!  I got up later than usual and I've spent most of the morning goofing off.  It looks like Mickie is over her upset tummy.  She kept her regular breakfast down this morning.

It also looks like we had some fallout from Amy's snow overnight.  Just a dusting on the car and the roads and, I suppose, on the old snow but it's hard to tell.

Since there's a snow bank left by the plow that's blocking our usual path we've had to find an alternate route for our walks in the morning and afternoon.  And I'm pretty sure that snow bank isn't going anywhere for a while.

I have some leftover chicken and rice that I made for Mickie when her tummy was upset and now she's back on regular food.  I also have some chicken broth in the freezer so I think I'll turn it into chicken rice soup for my lunch.

And since I haven't done much of anything constructive yet this morning, I think I'll see if my feet and hands are still working!  Enjoy the rest of your day!  Stay warm and stay safe!  AMY, I don't know how you can stay warm if you insist on dancing with MR. SB.  I don't suppose it's a good idea to ask him in the house?

Good morning everyone, once again almost slept the clock around but finally feel rested from Christmas. Going out twice last week was too much. At  least my mouth feels much better. Did not stop me from eating but then there was nothing I really had to chew.

AMY  my baby is my daughter. I never wanted her to feel cheated on her birthday so always had somehing she wan ted for her day. As she got older I would take the day off from work and  take her shopping where she could get what  she wan ted and  then s top at  her favorite place  to eat. Made it a special day for her because no one gave her a seperate gift, i t was only a Christmas gift.

JANE  I can imagine how your husband felt  on his birthday. When my daughter got  t o be 4 or 5 she sta rt ed  to know she did not get anything on her birt hday excep t for us. I always go t something from her brot hers and us. The 3 of them st ill do some thing special for each others birthdays and I love that.Mostly it is some joke, nothing serious. Yvette's birthday is t he 27th, too. My SIL's birthday is Janyary 1st bu t not the firs t one of the new year.

Have to get  going, Yvet te is on the way and I have not even had breakfas t yet .

Have a good day and s t ay safe.

Merry Monday,

"Covid" family reports they are all feeling okay except for fatigue. Easy to take care of that with naps!  They had steak for dinner last night and opened presents from among themselves. Rest of family didn't get theirs to them.

Have just returned from the usual Braum's/Walgreen's "run".  Weather has turned colder and forecast for the rest of the week is rain/snow/whoknowswhatelse.  Ho Hum.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere as an Enjoyable a Day as possible.  :smitten:

Amy

The dance is over with for the moment. It turned out to be heavy snow to move near the end making the snow blower moan. Later on we had a bit of rain then snow again.
I was making bread when the neighbour called, she had called earlier just to talk. This time she said her hubby was at the garage and knowing she didn't feel that well I offered to pick him up. Bread went in a bowl to hopefully rise slow while I was away. Neighbour is home, bread is baking, laundry on the go and when the garage calls will take neighbour back up to pick up his truck. Not a boring day here!!

It is a really cold and dreary day here.  We are to get snow but they are not expecting too much accumulation.  If it is going to be cold I would at least like to get some moisture out of it.

AMY, there will not be much dancing with snow blowers here....only a couple of inches are expected.  I sure love to read how you and your neighbors take such good care of each other.  Not much of that goes on these days like it used to.

SHIRLEY, I liked the pictures that BUBBLE posted for you.  WOW, those beavers can really do a number on a big tree!  I hope your family meal was enjoyed by all.  Nice some of you can get together.

CALLIE, happy to read that the Covid Family are improving....seem fatigue is the main thing that EVERYONE has.

GLORIA, is your son-in-law feeling much better now, I hope?

I have friends and relatives that have Christmas Birthday's and it is always hard on them.  One of my first cousins decided to celebrate her Bday in the summer and we all agreed it was a good thing.

I do not want to go out but I do need a bag of black eyed peas.  Can not believe I forgot to buy them the last time we were at a store.  I tried to remember to get EVERYTHING we might need as we are not getting out at all right now.  I bet if I lived by you, AMY, some neighbor would come to my rescue😘

I wish you all a good rest of your day.

JENNY, if you lived down the street from me, I'd trade you a bag of black eyed peas for a container of sauer kraut that I forgot to buy.  In my family, it brings luck to eat it on New Year's Day!  I think it might be a German custom from my Grandfather's German ancestors.
