Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

I don't think that combat has ever been written about truthfully; it has always been described in terms of bravery and cowardice. I won't even accept these words as terms of human reference any more. And anyway, hell, they don't even apply to what, in actual fact, modern warfare has become.

    Don't Look Back

As you travel through life, there are always those times
When decisions just have to be made;
When the choices are hard and solutions seem scarce,
And the rain seems to soak your parade.

There are some situations where all you can do
Is to simply let go and move on,
Gather courage together and choose a direction
That carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward-
The process of change can be tough,
But think about all the excitement ahead,
If you can be stalwart enough.

There could be adventures you never imagined
Just waiting around the next bend -
And wishes and dreams just about to come true
In ways you can't yet comprehend.

Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new interests
As you challenge your status quo,
And you learn there are so many options in life
And so many ways you can grow.

Perhaps you'll go places you never expected
And see things you've never seen -
Or travel to fabulous far-away worlds
And wonderful spots in between.

Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring -
A "somebody special" who's there
To help you stay centered and listen with interest
To stories and feelings you share.

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends
Are supportive of all that you do -
And believe that whatever decisions you make,
They'll be the right choices for you.

So keep putting one foot in front of the other,
And taking your life day by day.
There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road,
Don't look back, you're not going that way.

The Cantaloupe

One cantaloupe is ripe and lush,
Another's green, another's mush.
I'd buy a lot more cantaloupe
If I possessed a fluoroscope.

I thought Sadie Hawkins Day was in November.  that when we used to have our SHD Dance at school?

I CHANGED THE BANDAGE ON MY FINGER TODAY AND I THINK IT LOOKS BETTER...NOT GOOD YET BUT BETTER.  Sorry about the caps. I didn't notice that.

Sleep well and wake refreshed!  And come back tomorrow !

I printed this last thing before Bubble put in the new month  i guess no one saw it  or maybe....whatever

I think you are probably right.  I am frequently wrong about almost everything so just ignore my greeting yesterday.

Good morning from an Interior at minus twenty-five and seven fifty-eight am. Sunday is said to put us back in the pluses.

Bubble, nice opening as usual, I enjoyed the encouragement from Amy Rees Anderson's poem. She has had some good ones. And Phyllis's work, I especially liked your cat in soft focus.

Nothing new here as usual, all the usual morning's work, meet and greets, and getting Farrah fed and coffee brewed is done, and I'm debating rather to go now for essentials or put it off until Monday's forecasted twenty above. I think I know which day I'll choose.

I have a question for those in the know. There are numerous times when I need to scan something from my phone, especially with food allergen databases.

While I always look at reviews, discarding those obvious company made ones, I just have no idea of what type of scanner to buy and none of the folks I've talked to have any idea on a type and what to look for or to avoid.

So, I guess I'm putting it out here to see if any of you have any ideas?

I have NOT heard of a phone scanning. They do however take great pictures.

i cant help you with that either,PATRICIA.   Sorry.

I've had a busy day today, cooking and baking and walking Cooper and playing with him and trying to get things ready for my trip....

Also, Cathy and i made a quick trip to Davy's to get the stuff Cindy wants me to bring to OKLA.  I'm tired right down to my sox.  And tomorrow is the high school musical so the afternoon will be used up.  I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and a happy tomorrow  stop by and share it with us.

You use the app to scan UPCs for any information. Companies now list pertinent info in the UPC.

Your Android device can scan any barcode or QR code by using a free app from the Play Store. Once you've installed the barcode scanning app, your device's camera can be used as a scanner. You can then take different actions depending on the content contained in the barcode.

RAMMEL

Clarify for us -
What are you wanting to scan? Picture, UPC Code, QR Code, something else?
What are you wanting to scan it with?

It seems like you have answered your own question.

Are you maybe looking for a "stand alone" Bar Code Reader, or "QR Code" reader?

I am looking for a good, workable reader app for my android phone that scans UPC/QR/Bar codes. Many companies are now including information within the code, expecting folks to have an app.

The cell phone uses its camera function to scan the available barcode using a downloaded app and retrieve the information. Many magazines and agencies, as well as medical and brands, are using UPC/QR/ Barcodes to encapsulate information.

When I look at ones available, often they have bad reviews, and I'm asking for app suggestions for the apps without a bad review. However, everyone I've asked is unfamiliar with the process.

Good morning..

Overcast with the temp at 32°  balmy! Not sure if laundry will be hung out ,will if the day clears up.

Patricia, I am of no help with that. I will ask others that may have it and let you know what they say.

Jane, good that you are now finger cot free..  I did try that recipe, finally and will post it. I did cut it in half and next time will add a few things to it (veggies)

I hear crows  holloring, better go feed them.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Patricia,  I use QR scanner from Unicomat that I downloaded from the Galaxy store and.I haven't had any problem with it.  There are a bunch of scanner apps in the android store and most of them are free and rated.
Adobe has one and Adode has been around forever.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. Phyllis, the Adobe one, has almost universally bad reviews. I have an AT&T phone and, unfortunately, Samsung products will not work with an AT&T phone. I'll keep looking.

Presently, it is minus 18 degrees and the different temperature and weather computer sites list the temperature anywhere from minus nineteen to minus thirty-seven. I don't understand the change as all local sites use the airport as their guide. I'm guessing that the others simply use somewhere in the vicinity on a map?

AccuWeather has minus 29 and the Natural weather service now says minus 34 up from, minus 37. The main local airport lists minus 18. I plan to purchase another outside balcony thermometer to set up this summer as a replacement.

Morning chores and meet and greets ran long this morning, but everyone and everything is doing well. Some of my friends have scanners they've recommended, but they're all Apple products for iPhones, so not an option. I mainly wanted it for an allergens site that uses it for their information downloads.

Sunday, the temperatures are forecasted to move back into the plus twenties and above, so that will be nice. I'm planning to go with a friend for groceries and other shopping on Monday and my replacement Amazon order along with another company's order are due on Tuesday, so this will be a better week than this last.

Again, thank you everyone for your help re scanning apps.

Amy

Raining off and on here, good for the wells that need it.

Patricia, Monday is to bring a temp of 60° here!! Snow will take a beating but I am sure there is more to drop before March is done. Sure hope I am wrong on that but know others (farmers) need it for the fields.

Good late morning from an Interior at minus six. If I hadn't had a couple of calls from my meet and greets, I'd probably still be sleeping! Anyone else ever awakened in the middle of the night and then can't get back to sleep for hours? Then if you sleep in or rather, if I sleep in, it only perpetuates the issue.

Jane, enjoy your Oklahoma trip, you've certainly earned some time off! Is this the area where the granddaughter has her own flower business?

Amy, enjoy your outing for drinks and later sewing. Actually, what I mean to say is to enjoy your mini vacation from all that work you do.

How many have seen the photo of Bubble's grandson and granddaughter in photos? Aviv, is really beginning to show the man he will be and Lynn is already six months old. And there is a picture puzzle there as well. Unfortunately, I've only found four answers so far.
