JaneS

I just returned from turning in my "back to work" form and my first day back will 11 am to 3 pm on Monday the 18th.  Earlier I said that I probably wouldn't be able to sit around in my Jammies until 9 when I start back to work but I guess I will on Monday.

I did a few more of the things on my list.  Last night I decided the rug in the entry way was pretty dirty so I took it outside and shook the heck out of it, then I threw it in the washer.  While it was washing, I decided that the rug wasn't the only dirty thing out there.  The floor was pretty bad, too. So this morning I washed that and right around the corner the kitchen hollered "ME TOO, ME TOO!"  So I jogged around the corner and gave the kitchen the once over!

Now, the sofa is calling softly to me so I guess I'll answer it's call.  Have a leisurely afternoon, Everyfriend!

Good afternoon om another rainy day.

Gloria, I too think I will feel better once we get some Spring days. I do not feel in the mood to do anything. Of course at 92 it takes more get up and go.
Yesterday was not a good day, as I found out I was runing out of hot water.  Called a plumber he came and was in a panic, when he discoved the hose from the hot water tank, was linking on the ground under my mobile. He said he did not know how to get under my home as it was so low, and I must have a swimming pool already under the house, that really got me upset. he must have gone in and out the house 5 times.  Finally i said maybe I should just call the office.  I told them what was going on and they sent two men over within 10 min.one did go under the mobile and said they would fix it.  They had it fixed in about and hour.  My plumber left, some one ask me how much he charged for coming over, and I said I never asked him.
He said I would have a large electirc bill, as he did not know how long I had been running. I guess the tank would fill up half way, so I never noticed it.

Jane, I am glad to read that Sara is home

Joan, even though it is afternoon, I think I would like and egg McMuffin.

Larry, I like your larger picture.

Jenny I am saying a special pray for Michele.

Jackie, hope you are feeling better soon.  I am sure all the stress you have gone through and still going through, does not help.

Hello dear ones, it is now a little after one o'clock. I have been up since seven. Our bargains and blessings shop opens at 9, and I had stuff to take over, and wanted to snoop around. Did find two small bowls that I needed. I left behind at Sunwest about 8 or 10..what a dummy. I could also use some shelves I left behind.oh well. I will go to Amazon and shop around.

I'm tired today. Not good at early starts I guess. Had some company after I got home, and one thing leads to another, so made myself a cheese sandwich for lunch. Two o'clock is a creative writing class that I want to check out, and two thirty is Balance and Mobility that I want to attend, and I found out this morning how to use the elec. exercise machines downstairs. The girl told me to just use it four minutes for  my first time. You sort of recline, push big pedals with your feet, and that causes your arms to go back and forth on handles. It was fun. I plan to do it daily. God willing and the body does not rebel.

Time to get the body in gear for the next program...June

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Jackie - After reading your last post, I would like to comment.  The MS meeting may be a wake-up call for R. I don't know about your group, but MS is not an "old people's" disease. Most of the people I have known (and I've known several) with MS were young to middle-aged. I have a cousin who has had it since her mid-twenties. I hope your meeting tonight goes well.

I have a lasagna in the oven. Tonight is the pot luck for our neighborhood couples' golf group.

Jane S. - I agree! June is amazing and I love her upbeat attitude.

Have a nice evening, everyone!

JoanFL

June--You are a whirlwind.  Good for you for participating in new things.

Jane--I agree about June.

Beverly--I LOVE lasagna.  Could you leave me a serving in the hidey hole? :)

Hi Beverly
Like you I don't think MS is an 'older' persons condition.

I had about fours years of physiotherapy for my medical condition and during that time there were clinics for MS.  And sometimes the clinics were in the same part of the physiotherapy ward I and others were having treatment.

And the majority of people were in their thirties to forties and some younger.

In my family, symptoms of
MS show up in the early 20's....

But of course,  young people
sometimes don't get involved
in groups until they have a
few years behind them of
dealing with the disease.

I have 2 nieces,  a few cousins,
and one grand child with
diagnosed MS  or MS symptoms.

Well rain finally stopped around 3 pm and the sun came out.

JANE  I think when I was happiest in my life was the times I had with my 3 when they wee young.  I know how Sarah feels about time with Kiran.

JOAN  you can have the rain, now who can I send the winds to.  Don't know a year when we had so much wind before.

HAL  saw on TV the damage from that big hail. Terrible.

JACKIE  too many things in life there is no cure for so we just suffer with them. Have a good night everyone.

Good Night Everyfriend!  I'm off to dreamland right after I check out a couple of websites.  I put in a full day today.  Of course, I did take time out for a nap but that doesn't count because I was sleeping off my demerits.

I wish you all peaceful rest and a lovely day tomorrow.

Hey girls...I am not doing anything that you wouldn't do if you had it right in your home. Remember, I am not doing housecleaning or cooking to any extent either. I will admit, I am pooped tonight and looking forward to a full nights sleep.

The creative writing class was very interesting and ran into an hour and a half, so I was late to the Mobility class. The woman that spoke is very knowledgeable and has had a book published on writing. She plans to give two classes a month.

Had supper downstairs. salad, fish, a big glass of apricot nectar, coffee and cake. Now my bed is grinning at me, and betting I will fall asleep before I get any reading done. We shall see........

Gloria, yes that was some storm they had.  Fortunately it was 250 miles from us.
It was Northeast of Dallas/Fort Worth area.  But we are having some distant thunder here right now.  Hopefully nothing destructive headed our way.  Spoke too soon, just heard some hail hit my window and the rain is pouring down.......

nite,nite, God Bless and Sweetdreams

Denver

Good evening.  It has been raining hard for over one hour now, with lightening and thunder.  Thank goodness no hail like the poor folks in Wylie Texas.....that was awful and the news said it will probably happen again tonight.

JACKIE, I hope the MS Meeting went well and you feel it was worth your time and most of all I hope R got something out of it as well.  I am sorry to read that you have been having more serious problems, not only with the MS but also issues with the house.  I do hope they will take care of the items that should have been identified and find before the closing.  Appreciate your positive thoughts for a good PET Scan report for Michele.

GLORIA de, I Am sorry to read about your problems with your hot water heater.  I do hope the problem is taken care of and that you will not get a huge bill on top of it.  Thank you for your prayers for Michele.

LARRY, best of luck to you on your new raised garden adventure.  We have tried for the past few summers to grow some veggies, and sadly have not been as successful as we would have liked to have been. When we had a yard to plant in the dirt we had great success, but these pots just do not seem to work for us. I plan to put flowers in the three big pots this summer.  It is hard not to be a bit apprehensive as we wait for the results from Michele's scan, but we are sure praying it will result in a clean bill of health.  She has another test next Monday and after that the reversal surgery and then on to a happy healthy life.  BTW, Ithink your eating at your dinette table sounds just perfect.

GLORIA, it seems to me that many places have had a good amount of wind this year....here in Colorado included.  Yes, indeed, a clear scan for Michele would sure make us all extremely thankful.

JUNE, it is good to read about, you getting involved in many new things there at your new place.  I am so happy that you are loving your new home.  We all seem to leave behind items that we really could use in our new location, but you were under stress to cut back and you did your very best.

Can't seem to keep my eyes open so I will say good night to ALL.

Hal and Jenny, How I envy you your storms. I would love them, as long as nothing was seriously damaged and no one harmed in any way. Our weather is so same, day after day, and I should be thankful, but I do miss the summer storms like we had back in Mn. and like you have now in your areas.

I wish you well, and may each one of you have a very blessed night..Peace, Love, Hugs and Prayers. Always and ever. June

Walking on the Beach

This guy was walking along the beach one day and ran across a lamp (what a surprise). He picked it up a rubbed it and a genie popped out (ohh, another big surprise). The genie told him he would grant the man three wishes.

"First," the guy began, "I'd like a million dollars."

POOF! A million dollars was suddenly showing on his checkbook balance.

"Second," he continued, "I'd like a new Mercedes."

POOF! A Mercedes appeared right in front of him.

"Third," the guy smirked, "I'd like to be irresistible to women."

POOF! He turned into a box of chocolates.

CHUCKLES

Did I Ever Tell You...?
by Dr. Seuss

Did I ever tell you about the young Zode
Who came to two signs at the fork of a road?
One said: To PLACE ONE. And the other: PLACE TWO.
So the Zode had to make up his mind what to do.
Well....the Zode scratched his head. And his chin. And his pants.
And he said to himself, "I'll be taking a chance
If I go to PLACE ONE. Now, that place may be hot!
And so, how do I know if I'll like it or not?
On the other hand, though, I'll be sort of a fool
If I go to PLACE TWO and find it too cool.
In that case I may catch a chill and turn blue!
So, maybe PLACE ONE is the best. Not PLACE TWO.
On the other hand, though, if PLACE ONE is too high,
I may catch a terrible earache and die!
So PLACE TWO may be best!
           On the other hand, though....
What might happen to me if PLACE TWO is too low...?
I might get some very strange pain in my toe!
So PLACE ONE
may be best." And he started to go.
Then he stopped. And he said, "On the other hand, though...
On the other hand...other hand...other hand though....!"
And for 36 hours and 1/2, that poor Zode
Made starts and stops at that fork in the road.
Saying, "Don't take a chance. No! You may not be right."
Then he got an idea that was wonderfully bright!
"Play safe" cried the Zode. "I'll play safe" I'm no dunce!
I'll simply start off for both places at once!"

And that's how the Zode, who would not take a chance,
Got to NO PLACE at all, with a split in his pants!

A quote that goes with the above:

"There is always risk - when you reach for the beautiful. When you reach for the lovelier, finer, more fragrant things of life - there is always a risk - and you can't escape it. The risk is what makes the Christian life exciting. It is thrilling - make no mistake about it. It is an adventure. As long as we live in this world, there will always be a risk in reach. There are timid souls who avoid high places because they are afraid...But then there are those who avoid high ideals because they are content with low ones. There are persons who do not have high ambitions because they are lazy. Jesus remarked upon those who sought the small and shallow things of life, "Verily, I say to you, they have their reward." Amy

Good morning everyfriend

Doing the happy dance here, finished another cancer quilt top last night that has been trying my patience but it is now done and I am ready to move on to another.

We are off to the city today..dh has an appointment then we will also go to Costco to see what the LED lights are like. Son bought some and said they work great for outside use, plus he bought some for inside too!

Larry, I too am itching to garden, I wasn't able last year but I will make up for it this year.I do have all my seeds bought, just need to buy tomato plants. Sweet Millions are nice to have for salads and one plant can supply the neighbourhood!!

Gloria, it is still chilly here but as long as it is not snow I am fine with the chill.

June, you amaze me with all you do....your certainly an inspiration to others

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Poor Zode pulled in two directions, I know that feeling well..... ;D

Joan, good morning, and to all who are soon to appear.....

Well I am glad I made the effort to turn up for last nights MS meeting.....We all sat in a large circle and the two young Barn Owls and their two handlers gave their talk whilst in the centre of the room....The birds were attached to cord perched on their leather gloved arms, where they could spread their wings but not fly, they were so well behaved apart from the mess they made on the well placed rubber mat they placed down, then after the talk they walked round the room in opposite directions at least three times giving us all a chance to touch the birds and ask questions, a most enjoyable evening....Ha ha, I bet you never knew Barn Owls don't drink water nor will they fly in rain, no I didn't know that either....

I made a bee-line for the man I spoke to on the phone, he passed me on to other committee members who gave me a fair bit of Info.....I have now become a member, well once I register and pay my annual £5 to the MS society....I was placed seated next to a lovely couple, Pat and David, David was 57 or 58 and was diagnosed just a few years ago but told he most probably had had MS for ten years, I found him very easy to get on with, we exchanged stories on our first noticeable symptoms to our words when first told we had MS and to how we reacted to them....

The majority of members last night were my age group, several later climbed into MS buses outside in the car-park, so not sure where they were being delivered home to....

R also enjoyed the evening too...plus we got a cup of tea at the end, even came round with a trolley full of biscuits, complete with some good humour from the trolley guy when trying hard to get rid of them, there seemed not many takers, well not from our end....

Amy, well-done, now give yourself a break before starting on your next one, also give yourself a treat, you have earned it....

JoanFL

Good morning, Amy.  Glad you finished the quilt that was trying your patience.  May you have a fruitful trip to the city.

Vanilla/Jackie--Good morning. I am so glad you had such a positive experience with the entire meeting last night.  Great to hear that "R" also enjoyed the evening.

They are forecasting rain for later this morning, so I am going to get out early and do some errands.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's 30º this morning and only predicted to go into the low 50s and it's also cloudy.  I am so craving some sunshine and warm days.  They are saying that will happen this weekend.  I truly hope so!

Amy, congrats on finishing the quilt.  I've tried growing tomatos in containers with no luck but that's probably due to my BLACK thumb.  I'm just not a very good gardner.  Even my grass doesn't grow well.  The only thing on my property that is thriving is the forsythia and a lilac bush that my former neighbor gave me when I was moving.  And I think forsythia is too hardy to kill and it's Harry's touch that is keeping the lilac healthy.

Jenny, I'm also praying for happy results for Michele and will await the answer.

As soon as I finish my coffee, I'll be off to feed the doggies and get myself a bit of breakfast.  So I will wish you all a lovely day full of whatever you think will be fun.

Hi everyone on this Wednesday morning.  It started early for me as I awoke a little before 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep.  Finally I got up about 5:30 so am getting an early start on my day.  Our garage door quit working on Monday afternoon so I have the repairman coming early this morning to fix it.  Pat has a Church Women's Circle meeting this morning and I plan on going down to the community ministries thrift store to donate several bags of linens and other items Pat cleaned out before my sisters visit.  While there I will certainly visit the Thrift Store to see if there is anything I can use.  This evening Scott will join us at the Church for the Wednesday night dinner.  Tonight the main item is fried chicken.  Then Scott plans on coming out to the house for awhile.

Joan, yes I have used the new pill splitter twice.  Unfortunately the pills I need to split are so large (Calcuim with Vitamin D) that I have to split them length-wise so can only do about 5 at a time.  I also used it to split some much smaller pills and it works great.  The garage door opener is guaranteed but the labor cost was only for a year.  It will cost me $85 to have the repair man here this morning.  Things just don't seem to last very long anymore.

Sandy, the pictures do seem bigger.

The last few days I have written such long posts that I vowed today to make it short.  Until tomorrow.

Kelly

JoanFL

Good morning, Larry.  Glad the pill splitter works for you.  They sure don't make things like they used to.  The garage door should not be broken so soon, IMO.

Good morning, Kelly.
