Good Morning Everyone!

Well it was a stormy night.  We missed all the big hail by a hair.  It went just North of us and continued on a fairly wide swatch to the East and did considerable damage, it was big as baseballs, but most was golf ball size.  One family, not far from us, in Helotes, had one go completely through the roof and the ceiling of their living room.  Left a pretty big hole.  I haven't seen or heard of any injuries, but I am sure there must have been some.

Larry, I'll bet you have a busted spring from the way you described it the other day.  I hope you didn't strip out you carrier to when you tried to open it.  The springs act as counter weights.  I cant believe how much those doors weigh when the spring breaks and you have to use muscle to open it and hold it up to close it.  Last time I had one break, I had both replaced and it cost about 125.00.  But the guy who works on mine is johnny on the spot and usually shows up within a couple of hours.

Wife said we got about three inchs of rain last night.  But seems one storm would move out of the area and another would be right on it's tail.  My old pup stayed in my room last night and will hardly move away from me this morning.  She must have been shook up with all the thunder and lightening.  She normally kinda ignores storms.  You have to wonder what she hears that we don't.

You folks that talk about growing in containers, did you know that tomatoes make a really great hanging plant.  You only need about a half bushel of dirt to grow one.  And water them with half strength fertilizer.  I always gave mine a gallon of water a day.  But then this is Texas and things dry out quickly in summer time.  The lid of a big round BBQ grill makes a great planter.  I used to be the old man who went around checking the area for burned out BB! grills and take the lids. They were great for mass plants of flowering plants and vines.  I have one with English Ivy that is over 20 years old and still going.  I have to add dirt every year.  My wife has kinda taken over for me caring for it, it was originally a Mothers day plant given to her in 1978.  Just a sprig.

Sheeesh, I have written a book.

Everyone have a good day.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, sun is shining, the sky is blue and I am looking forward to a better day. A dry day is a big help and I hope no rain for a few days.  Nothing planned for today. My housekeeper is out sick so no different one available today. Think I would still be sleeping if not for the phone call.

HAL  hope that hail last night was small and didn't cause damage. I have heard more about damaging hail lately than I ever have.

JENNY  the weather guessers here are blaming this crazy weather on el Nino. Michele needs some good news after what she has been through.

JUNE  living through some of those storms is no fun. In memory they were just fun but in reality they can be very frightening.

JOAN  breakfast looks great this morning. Like the Dr. Seuss and the quote with it. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  glad that problem quilt is finished. I sure missed fresh tomatoes from the garden last year. Neither of my sons planted a garden last year and the lady here who did the planting for whoever wanted tomatoes took the year off because of cataract surgery.

JACKIE  glad the MS meeting last night went good.

JANE  I am with you, sunshine and warmer days. Ready to put the winter jacket away for several months.

Good morning, everyone, the sun is shinning. Very little wind.  I am waiting for a neighbor to take me to our new supermarket, called Gala.

Hal, I heard on the radio about the awful storms you are haveing.  I am glad you are safe.

June, you should do good in the writing class, as you have a wonderful way with words.

I have to go my driver is here.

I am up. I have been waking up about 7 o'clock every morning. I like that..no alarm needed. Showered and Shampooed and now drying out. Leaving my hair shorter and straight makes life much easier.

Today my Gary will be doing his stint at our Chapel. Everyone enjoys Gary and he gathers a goodly amount of residents. I had dinner with our resident Pastor and his wife yesterday. She has a manner of drawing one into conversations...quite a talented lady. He is great too...he sang in a quartet for 15 years. They are both of the Quaker faith.

I never had good luck with growing tomatoes in a container, mine always did well in the ground.

Hal, your dog reminds me of my Petey. Some animals really attach themselves to you. He was a medium sized cocker spaniel mix . Our last dog, Penny, was my husbands companion, a great solace to him as he progressed into Alzheimers.

I had a half an English muffin and two cups of coffee and a happy visit with you all. Now it is time to make the bed, get dressed and be ready to leave for the 10 o'clock Bible class. See you all later. June

As long as we are here, let's dance.

June--How nice it is that your Gary comes to your complex and does the Bible Study.  You sure have some interesting residents that you mingle with.

Carol

Good day all!  Yesterday, I attended a monthly genealogy meeting and we were all looking forward to the speaker - author on that subject.  It was a total dud meeting because she may have written a book but had to be prompted 3 times from the audience on errors and helped out a few times.  Some walked out early and I just tried to stay awake.  Waste of time.  Such a nice lady but that didn't work at all.

Jackie:  That sounds like a nice group for you to find the latest information plus meet new friends.

Lindancer:  My note to you is blank but hey, I will just say hello. :crazy2:

Amy:  Just curious of what colors you tend to use in your quilts.

Jenny:  Don't plant - go to Sprouts.   We usually hang tomatoes but the birds attack and kill that idea.  Best to you on Michele's results.

JoanFL

Hi Carol.  Seems that lady who was the speaker at the genealogy meeting would have been embarrassed at her lack of correct info.

KELLY  hope you had a great day.

GLORIA de  it was a beautiful day her hardly any wind and bright sun all day. I sat on the porch for quite awhile with my back to the sun and it felt wonderful. Only a few others were out there today. Hope you found something good at the new market.

JOAN  glad you took time out today for you off the computer life. Felt good to get away for even a few hours I imagine. Hope you answered your couch and had a good nap. Mine calls me in the afternoons, too. But I never nap even when I wish I could. When I start dozing my phone seems to know and starts ringing.

JUNE  I have to call the hairdresser to come and give me a haircut. This time I will have the hand mirror close so I can make sure she cuts it as short as I want and does not part it on the right side again. I always comb it back, never parted. Interesting residents where you are living.

CAROL  looks like that speaker was no much of a speaker. Makes one wonder how she wrote a book.

JANE  what did you get into today that wore you out?

AMY  glad I don't have to get up early anymore.

Wow only a few posts today. Everyone out enjoying nice weather? Have a good night everyone.

Hi Gloria
A fairly good day.

Enjoy your evening.

Gloria, mentioning about parting our hair, one time I was up at Boyne City and went to a woman there to have my hair cut.  When she styled my hair, she put the part on the right side, saying it was because all women parted their hair on the right side.  I told her it was the first I had heard that because I parted my hair on the left side.  I think I don't have a part now but sometimes it parts itself anyway.

This has been a quiet day for me. Enjoyed my son's teaching so very much. He is so natural in speaking, he holds everyones attention. He is speaking on the book of Daniel now and makes those Biblical characters come to life.

After that I went to lunch with a good friend I have made. She is a member of Gary's Church, and an interesting personality. After a big and tasty lunch it was nap time, of course. Then I ran into a problem on my computer, seems a virus jumped in again, so I had to do a lot of deleting in my email.

That taken care of, I went downstairs and worked on one of the machines for more exercise..I must find out what they are called. They are Big. you sit and push with your feet and that action moves you arms back and forth as well as your legs. That of course called for another nap.

Kevin, Hi back to you.

I still plan to send off a few letters, but feel the need for some fresh air, so will take a walk first.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Molly

My treat for today was when my son called to let me know that he was coming to visit with me this weekend AND planned to take me out to select some plants for my yard, which he will plant while he is here!  I was delighted, but also surprised that he would have the time to come visit now as he is scheduled to transfer (without his family) to an Army base in Korea for one year.  He departs on June 7th.  It is always such a pleasure to have him visit and we can catch up on family news.

JUNE - I really smiled when I read your comments RE your son conducting the Bible Study and how much it was enjoyed.  I'm sure you are tremendously proud of him!  And I also am delighted for you that you seem to be so comfortable in your new home!  The Lord has truly blessed you!

June Drabek

Molly, thank you, the Lord truly has blessed me, and I am thankful, as you are also with your fine son. He truly loves you as his kindness proves. Tomorrow he is taking me to the dentist where I will have a root canal done. I am so grateful.

I planned to order a tray from Amazon, and the delivery costs exceed the price of the tray. I don't know how to cancel the order, but I am sure not going to complete it. That is insulting. It is only a plastic tray and does not require special handling.

I am tired tonight and it will be an early to bed for me. I pray you all have a God Blessed night. June

Seems you ladies have all be busy bees today.  And as always got a lot accomplished.  Me, I did little of nothing, trying to finish up from yesterday.

I did, just finished, paying some bills.  Computer either on my end of theirs had a hiccup and I had to do it twice.....but it is done, I hope.

Got bible study and breakfast in the morning so I am off to bed shortly.

Nite, nite, God Bless and sweetdreams.

Good Night Everyfriend!  I'm off to Dreamland also.  I wish you a peaceful night of rest and a happy awakening tomorrow.  Do what you want with the new day.

Good evening.

Sorry to not get here earlier as I do have wonderful news to share......
Michele's PET Scan is negative......so she is free of any cancer now and has been cleared for her surgery on the 26th.

I can't tell you how relieved we are to get this news today!  I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  It has been comforting to know that we were having prayers said all over the world.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

JACKIE, good to read that the meeting was enjoyed by both you and Richard.  I am so glad that you will now have support from others in your area that know what you are going through.

JUNE, your day sounded just perfect with your Gary being such a big part of it.

MOLLY, so happy for you that Chaps will be there to enjoy a visit with you this weekend.  So exciting that you will be picking out plants.  Enjoy.

CAROL, how disappointing for you to to look forward to the genealogy meeting and find it to be totally a waste of your time.  Be glad you will not be home this weekend...we are getting a BIG storm that could possibly give us a LOT of snow....  The models are setting up and causing a lot of concern.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny, it has been a long few months for Michelle but at last there is light at the end of her tunnel, thank the Lord......

One of my frustrations and dare I say it, anger with R is that he doesn't like being put out, as to when I need him or ask him to walk somewhere, such as to the dustbins, put out recycling material, he acts like a spoilt child throwing a tantrum, then I have to remind him that there is " nothing wrong with his legs..." which of course makes absolutely no difference to him, sympathy or compassionately wise...
........................................
Got a letter through the post yesterday giving me a choice of three hospitals of which I want to use for MS Specialist Nurse and Neurologist, as I don't know one from the other, this is where my new MS society comes in for good advice....

JoanFL

Good Thursday morning, Everyfriend.  There's  waffles and bacon to accompany your coffee or tea. I wish everyone a good day!!

CHUCKLES

Old Dog

My sister's dog had been deaf and blind for years. When she started to suffer painful tumors, it was time to put her down. As I explained this to my seven-year-old son, he asked if Jazzy would go to heaven. I said I thought she would, and that in dog heaven, she would be healthy again and able to do her favorite thing: chase squirrels.

Jacob thought about that for a minute, then said, "So dog heaven must be the same as squirrel hell."

Food For Thought

The Key to Acceptance
(by Dr. Charles Stanley)

Many churchgoers will be alarmed to discover that ministry work does not earn a place in heaven. Good deeds mean nothing to God unless they are the outgrowth of a relationship with Him. Only those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior will enter heaven, no matter how many acts of kindness or charity they have performed.

The definition of the word "believe" is what often confuses church members who lack genuine faith. They believe in God, Jesus, and heaven. But there's a difference between giving intellectual assent to an idea and spiritually acknowledging Christ as God's Son and one's own personal Savior. In the Bible, every time someone truly believes in Jesus, he or she changes. It is impossible to remain the same after realizing one's desperate need for Him.

An earnest desire for salvation begins with the recognition that we have sinned against God. We must also be aware that there is no hope of salvation apart from the Lord. Having understood these two facts, we need to trust in His sacrifice for the payment of our sin-debt. Some people use the terminology "ask Jesus to forgive your sin" or "ask Jesus into your heart." It doesn't matter how we describe the experience - if we repent of sin and make a decision to receive Christ, we are saved.

God promises to respond to a humble acknowledgement of His Son's sacrifice. If you desire to be in heaven with Him for eternity, ask yourself this question: Have I been saved? If not, now is the time.
