Joan, good morning, and to all who are soon to follow...

Well this morning I feel more on the ball, re, phonecalls....my head feels clearer to deal with them...I have now left a message for pet grooming, R spoke to someone on our site and remarked on how well groomed his dog Ellie looked, owner agreed and told us the name of Ellie's groomer, told also she owns Cocker Spaniel dogs herself...

Also left message for our " metal man " as I spoke to I assume wife saying we accepted his quote for putting in safety rails front and back, she said he would phone in the evening saying when he would be ready to fit them, he never but he did recieve our message and will do them in 4 to 5 weeks or sooner if he gets them ready.....seems a long wait but we have already been here 4 weeks now, time sure does go quick.....

Another phone call was to Haith's, I had ordered bird seed, usually I would receive it within 24 to 48 hours, ( old address, ) just had to check they have my correct new address or that my order didn't go astray or worse delivered somewhere else, told its out for delivery to me today....Yesterday I took in a nice new delivery of a wooden bird-feeder, the only thing now missing is the bird food.... ;D

One more phonecall to go, this is to my local MS societies secretary, cum, publications, membership, information, and branch web page editor, wow he holds down many positions...He spoke to me at length at the social meeting telling me he can get me an MS specialist nurse, well yesterday a hospital letter arrived asking me to choose one of three hospitals, being new to the area I have no ideas as to which hospitals are the best, so I need his advice as to which one to go with which will include a Neurologist....Last night he e-mailed quite a lot of Interesting Info to download, pdf's.....

Oh forgot to add the important bits, had my fresh beetroot on the stove early this morning for an hour, and not long finished my washing, now its in the dryer...dogs have been fed their breakfasts, but not me, yet....who said we should put ourselves before our dogs? has never lived in this house....;D

Kelly

Hi Joan
A very good morning to you

Kelly

Kelly

Hi Vanilla
I have found the Leonard Cheshire foundation brilliant in relation to having grip rails affixed to where they are needed, not so much for me, but others.

But they had my car modified for me to drive and help so many people in many ways.

An elderly couple return to a Mercedes dealership where the salesman has just sold
the car they were interested in to a beautiful, leggy, busty blonde.

"I thought you said you would hold that car till we raised the $75,000 asking price," said the man.
"Yet I just heard you closed the deal for $65,000 to that lovely young lady there.
You insisted there could be no discount on this model."

"Well, what can I tell you? She had the ready cash and, just look at her, how could I resist?"
replied the grinning salesman.

Just then the young woman approached the aged couple and gave them the keys.

"There you go," she said.
"I told you I would get the dope to reduce it.  See you later, grandpa.”

Never mess with the elderly!

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Today is to be sunny with no snow,I can handle that.
Yesterdays trip was long and tiring..I am glad we can stay about here as I will be on the road again tomorrow. I feel like a kid that has been given the day off school today, nothing NEEDS to be done and I can go play in the sewing room.

Gloria, when I make soup I make a big pot and there is lots of pea soup left along with the rice pudding.

Mary Ann, when I wore my hair with a part I parted it on the left also..don't know if that is because I am left handed or not. I don't part my hair now..

Molly, enjoy your son's visit....such a blessing to have the "me" time with him .

Jackie, it is the same here,I feed the dogs first..they have me well trained.

Joan, thank you for breakfast..

Enjoy your day everyone..

Kelly, thank you I have heard of them but, I got onto our site manager as soon as I moved in, who put us in touch with the man who does the rails on our site, I have already seen his workmanship, spoke to a few residents, and chosen the ones I want...just told by site manager he may take his time....

Amy, the dogs were following me around, they were putting me off of where I had left my glasses, my paperwork, I was going backwards and forwards so had no choice but to feed them, if only to know where I was going.... ;D

Lloyd--Good morning.  Thanks for the chuckle.

junee--Good morning/evening.  I did catch a few more zzz's.

Good morning Jackie/Vanilla.  Things sure are busy with you, but you are getting settled in your new location nicely, I'd say.

Kelly--Good morning.

Good morning, Amy.  I know it seems good to you to stay home for a day.  Your vehicle must know those roads you travel by heart.

Hi Vanilla
Also you can through the Island health service, obtain a shower seat, as they can be expensive if bought.

Also I think adaptions if needed in the home.  Might not apply in the UK.

Extra allowance on Income Tax if registered disabled.

JaneS

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Right now it's 34º and sunny and predicted to hit the mid 60s this afternoon.  It figures, as soon as I'm scheduled to go back to work, the weather gets nicer!

I have nothing planned for today except to root out some clothes that I think I'll be taking to Texas and see if I can remember where I stowed my suitcase.  I might do a bit of laundry just to make sure all of my work clothes are clean and ready to go to work with me.

I looked at Crocs (shoes) on line yesterday and there are some that I think I might be able to wear for the wedding.  They don't even look too clunky.  We'll see when they get here.  I will go ahead and order them on line because I have a very old, very dilapidated pair that I wear to clean up the yard and I tried them on.  Yay!  They fit!

You all have a lovely day.  Don't do anything you don't feel like doing and do anything that strikes your fancy.

JoanFL

Good morning, Janie.  Good that you found Crocs that are suitable for the wedding.  You should rest this weekend, because I'd imagine the first week back at work will be tiring.

JaneS

Thanks, Joanie.  I don't have any big plans for the weekend.  I think that, except for going to church Sunday, I'll just stay home and "putz".

Joy

Good morning,  Joan and all.  The waffles will be a great treat this morning.  Haven't had waffles for a very long time. I have some real maple syrup to pour over them.

Jenny,  that is wonderful news about your daughter-in-law.   So happy for her and I know what a relief  you all are feeling.   That awful  dreaded time of waiting can be so overwhelming.   Good thoughts go out for the success of the upcoming surgery. I know you all will be glad when you can get back to a normal life.  Good news to hear the first thing in the morning.

Have a great day.

Joy

BIG BOX

larryhanna

Hi everyone on this fine Thursday morning.  We are in the low 50's this morning and will only get to the low to mid-60's later this afternoon.  We apparently had a little rain during the night. Today will be a typical Thursday for us. I did take the donations to our Community Ministries yesterday for their Thrift Store.  The man came on time and fixed our garage door by totally replacing the unit that opens it.  He was here about 15 minutes but it still cost $85 for the visit.

Today I will pick up my friend to take to coffee and then take him home and go from there to the Church for the Wisdom group meeting at 11:30.  I will stop at the Post Office for a roll of stamps that Pat needs for the cards she sends out on behalf of our Sunday School Class. Is everyone aware that the cost of first-class stamps was reduced to $0.47 on April 10th?

There is a nursery right next to where I have coffee so may check out their selection for some herbs to plant.  Today is finally the day that our new Aldi's grocery store opens.  We have two $5 coupons to use there during the next couple of weeks. If I have enough energy left after the morning activities I may briefly stop at the new Aldi's.  This store being so close we won't need to make such big purchases as can easily stop there for a few items at a time.

I had written a little longer posting and clicked the Post button but apparently forgot to see if it had posted or if there were new postings, which they were.  Then I closed the tab and lost the postings.  So will just say I enjoyed all the postings and will be back tomorrow.

 :coolsmiley:  Good Morning Everyone!

Back later, running late.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, nice start, 42° and the sun is shining.

KELLY  Moghrey Mie, have a great day.

MARY ANN  once at the salon the young, just graduated, girl parted my har on the rght and I told her I do not part my hair. She said that was the way  my hair wanted to go that way. I told her yes because she was blow drying it that way. As if we did
not know the way I had my hair for years and it never was parted on the right side.

JUNE  they have some machines here in the exercise room vu like everything else in this building they are not for short people. Only seen 3 different people here using them. I tried getting on the bicycle one and could not reach the pedals. I would have liked using them.

JENNY  that is wonderful news for Michele and the family. So good to come in here this morning and read that.

JACKIE  good that you can ask that MS group what hospital would be best for you. Hope none are too far.

JOAN  ahh crisp bacon and waffles, love both so will enjoy breakfast. Old Dog, that is some remark from Jacob. Like Food for Thought. A keeper. Thank you for today's goodies.

LLOYD  good morning.

JUNEE  hello.

LLOYD  good joke, never mess with the elderly.

AMY  good no new snow. About time you had none. I have never been able to make a small pot of soup. Always better warmed over later. Some also freezes  great.

JANE  that first day back at work will have you getting home with even your shoe laces worn out.

LARRY  really nice to have a market close.

HAL good morning.

Mary Ann

Larry, you posted twice in Norm's B&T and I knew the second one was for the SS.  You mentioned something for June and it isn't in your post above.

Nothing unusual going on here.  Dot has invited Tom and me for lunch today and if Tom is not feeling well, I'll go alone.  I hope he can make it.

Mary Ann

JoanFL

Janie--That's a great idea.

Good morning, Joy.  I haven't had real maple syrup in the house in years.

Jenny--I am so VERY HAPPY for Michele and the family.  I know first hand what it means to get the "all clear" news.

Larry--Good morning.  Labor sure is expensive these days.  I knew about the price of stamps being reduced.  Wouldn't you know I just bought a roll of Forever stamps about three weeks ago.

Good morning, halkel.

Gloria--Good morning.  It's maddening when a hairdresser ignores our desires.  Glad the sun is shining there.

Good morning, Mary Ann.  Enjoy lunching out with Dot (and maybe Tom).

June Drabek

Good Morning all…I am in a hurry this morning. Gary will pick me up shortly after nine o'clock for my 10 o'clock dental appointment. Have done the prayers, the exercises and massage, ate breakfast next is make the bed and get dressed.

Gloria, on these exercise machines you can adjust them for different sized people. there is a rod under the fringe of the seat that brings you further or closer to the foot pedals and also there is easy adjustment of the hand things. Another adjustment knob to turn the chair for getting in and out. Perhaps there is someone there who can show you how to operate it.

Mary Ann, I do visit B & T so I will check for Larry's post.

Good Morning to you my dearest Bis, and now I must run and get things done so I won't be late for my date with my son. See you all later. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

I've got myself cleaned up and dressed, made another batch of dog food, have one load in the dryer, one in the washer and a basket of towels standing by awaiting it's turn.  I've cleaned up a couple of places I missed and threw away a bunch of stuff in the bathroom...most of it stuff Frankie left here.  I don't think she's coming back and it's not worth sending to her.

Now I'm going to visit, play some games, have lunch, give the doggies a snack and (maybe) take a nap.  The temp is up to 54 and the sun is still shining.  Makes a body feel more than up to par!

Jenny, all our prayers were answered.  I wish Michele a great surgeon for her upcoming surgery and God's hand guiding his hands.

Good morning, June.  Hope all goes well at the dentist.

Janie--You sure are getting everything done at home before you go back to work on Monday.  I know my couch will call me a bit later.  I seldom go to sleep, but I rest.

Carol

Joan:  If I go to the sofa - or even a chair, I can sleep for a few minutes & feel so much better.  It is probably a habit.

Gloria:  I just have to remember that I couldn't have done any of what the author knew but know enough to not attend her lectures again.

Nothing important but my hair is parted on either side depending on how I feel.

Kelly:  Did the Vikings visit your area of the world?

Jenny:  Great news!  Tell Michele how many senior friends are aware and care for her health and happiness.  Also, not coming home until the snowstorms stop and certainly don't want to be caught in any more -

The VA in Denver just called for Don and made a June appointment (that is great for us) for an overnight stay.  We have wonderful service at the VA.  They are sorely understaffed.

JoanFL

Carol--You're lucky that you can sleep for a few minutes and feel rested.  If I do fall asleep on the couch, I have to sleep close to an hour or I am cranky.

Hi Carol
Yes the Vikings took over the Island from about 800-815AD until about 1260AD.

Some of our history is based on the Vikings.

Kelly

Well, I got to my meeting (bible study) on time and had a good study.  We had a new guy this morning.  Hope we didn't scare him off.  Anyhow, it is beautiful sunny day out.  Suppose to be 80 before day is done.

Jenny, great news.  I know she must be elated mixed with apprehension.

Good morning Gloria (afternoon).  Hope you are having a great day.

Larry, seems strange that he had change out the unit.  Unless motor was burned out.  Most of the parts inside the system is replaceable, at least on mine.
I have the screw type.

When the Vikings came in my part of Britain and raped and plundered you can still tell in my family that they left a few little folk around. Specially the ones up between Scotland and England.
Big men with Red Curly hair. Have one 34 year grandson now carry the line along with one Granddaughter 40 who is over 6ft tall very blond with blue eyes.  Only one at the moment. Others have the Nordic look but young yet.
JeanneP

JoanFL

halkel--Glad you got to your meeting on time.

JeanneP--Interesting.

It sure has been quiet in the SS today.
