I've been up an hour already, not dressed but wanted to add to my list of "to-dos" for today.  Had one of those busy weeks & fun was more important than necessary so necessary piled up.  Not smart but was a good week with my daughter in & out & we  played, ate & shopped.

Amy, glad he has only one more chemo.... hope & pray it has done the job and you can celebrate.

Lloyd, good news at the VA for you. Looks like beautiful weather this week end & into next week for MO.  I'm heading that way to visit my old high school buddy, hope it isn't too muddy in Springfield.

Jane, I will be thinking of you and worrying about your baby. Hugs for you both.

Good morning World and Friends!  Peace be with you this day and the week ahead.

JaneS

Good morning Everyfriend!  Thanks for the good thoughts on Annie's behalf.   I wish you good news too...Lloyd at the VA and Amy's sweetheart in the city.

The coffee just finished and it will soon be time to feed the doggies.  We were up early this morning and Annie had the pill she has to take on an empty stomach.  I think we have about 10 minutes more to wait.  That might give me time to drink my coffee.

Make today a good one for each of you!

Good morning everyone, well got the shot in my back yesterday but today it does not feel like it is helping. Of course it is raining and that does not help arthritis. Thinking of rescheduling the dentist today.

MARY ANN   I watch local news  but mostly I am listening to it as am doing something else. I know I stopped using the drops because they have been more irritating than help.

CALLIE  I think Bunnie got those pictures of us from our profiles in SN. We did not have the avatars like here in S&F. I try to keep that 20-20-20 thing in mind when I am here and when I read, too.

JANE  I think I am the one who wastes a day. Cannot do much in the way of cooking or housework so really do nothing productive. Oh it is more comfy in our jammies, isn't it? Today is one of those days I would like staying in mine.

HAL  the rain is here now, will be pouring later so I just cancelled appointment and ride for today. I will not go out and get drenched.

SHIRLEY   one cannot help but admire the people in Greensburg, they pulled together and did things themselves without demanding the government help them.

JANE  have a safe trip to the State college with Annie. I hope they do not find anything bad with the test. Raining here and from what I heard on local weather this is just the front edge now.

LLOYD  hope your visit to the VA  ends with good news.

AMY  prayers that the chemo does what it supposed to and your hubby will be free of the monster.

SHIRLEY  safe travels to Mo. Just watch that lead foot.   :o

"How Many Dogs Does It Take to Change A Light Bulb?"

1. Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

2. Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

3. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!

4. Rottweiler: Make me.

5. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

6. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please!

7. German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

8. Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.

9. Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb!

10. Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

11. Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

12. Pointer: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there.....

13. Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares?

14. Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

15. Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

The Cat's Answer: "Dogs do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is: How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?".

ALL OF WHICH PROVES, ONCE AGAIN, THAT WHILE DOGS HAVE MASTERS, CATS HAVE STAFF.

Hi everyone.  It is another overcast morning and will stay only in the high 60's today.  I got up a little bit early this morning and made a quick trip to the lab at the hospital to get the blood tests done that my cardiologist had ordered before I see her again next Friday.  This area is wonderful as there wasn't any traffic around 7 am.  Today is the day for the housekeeper and there are no other plans for the day.

Gloria, sorry to read that the shot didn't seem to help much and hope after the weather improves you will also.  I enjoyed the funnies you shared.

Yesterday Pat did get in to see her doctor and then we stopped at Cracker Barrel for a hearty lunch.  Then we had to go to Walmart where Pat got a couple of prescriptions for herself and picked up one for me.  I waited for her in the car as didn't feel up to going into Walmart. We were away from the house about 5 hours.  I came home and took a nap but didn't feel rested so went to bed around 8 pm.

Callie, that 20-20-20 rule is a good one and I hope I will remember to do that.  I have never had a problem with my eyes but lately not seeing as well and know it is my cataracts.

June, I have a lot of the Booth Brother's recordings in my Spotify playlists.  I always enjoy Southern Gospel. Hope you re feeling more peppy today.

Shirley, many communities are very resilient and help each other and I am sure this is true in many communities throughout the world.

JaneS, hope your trip to State College went well.  Glad you were with your daughter today.

Amy, I bet your husband can't wait to get that 12th one done.

Shirley, hope all goes well with your trip to Missouri and that you enjoy seeing old friends.  I wonder if you will be surprised how much they have aged?  :)

halkel

Good morning everyone.
JaneS, hope the results were good.  AndAnnie can get the tooth fixed.
Gloria, hopefully your shots will help some. Also hope your rain stops.
Our weather is great wi the no rain in sight, sigh.
Larry hope you find your energy.  Not fun being tired all the time.
I need to geta couple of things done.

June Drabek

Is the S.S. still in operation, I find no one since Hal's message this morning. My computer was down for the day. Is anyone out there now ???
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June Drabek

Good Morning friends, it is a nice cool cloudy day, a pleasant change from all our So. Ca. sunshine. I was up early and got my bed all made and got myself ready for the day, when here comes my housekeeper. I had forgotten it was Friday. My regular girl is visiting family in the Philipines.

Janie I pray all goes well with your little Annie today, and that the test proves she is not in serious trouble. May you and your daughter have a safe trip also.

Lloyd, for dry mouth I chew gum during the day or pop a lemon drop in my mouth. Both things cause more saliva to appear. However I wouldn't recommend either of them when you are in bed…..to easy to choke then.

Larry, thank you. I feel more like myself today..not some zombie wandering around. The Booth Bros. have added a Bass singer to their group, and I liked it very much. He brings in a softer sound to the other voices.

Gloria, I really laughed about the different breed of dogs changing a light bulb. Especially the Border Collie…they never have enough to do. I would cancel appts. too with the rain coming down, more chance to slip and fall, besides getting all wet. I wish you could get relief from the back pain, that can really drag one down.

Tisie, Necessary is always there, waiting to nag us. Sometimes we just have to give him a wink and go about doing what we enjoy.

Amy, does your hubby have the Chemo treatment that takes several hours sitting in a comfortable chair ? I had two friends where I lived before that had that type of treatment. They did not look forward to it.

I have some books to return to the Library so I will go and get that done, and pick up a couple more. See you later kids…..try to be good.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, don't know what it is like outside yet but it was a miserable day yesterday. Glad I rescheduled with the dentist. About the time I would have gone and got picked up to come home it was really pouring. On the 6pm news they said in this area we got almost 3 inches of rain and it was still raining.

LARRY  I think if it wasn't for the damp weather I would have felt more relief from the shot. Dampness and arthritis do not get along. Just wish the arthritis was not in my back. You and Pat being out for 5 hours I imagine you were both tired when you got home.

HAL  yesterday's rain was the most we had in one day in quite awhile.  When I called my son yesterday about cancelling the dentist for the day, I told him I think I should invest in one of those yellow slickers like the fishermen wear. He and my DIL both have them. I cannot use an umbrella in the rain with my rollator and I do not like getting drenched in the rain anymore. Now we are to be in for a week of cooler temperatures.

JUNE  my CNA  was here in the morning yesterday and I had her give my back a good massage. It felt better after. In the afternoon I had the heating pad on it as I lay on the couch. Will see what today brings.

Wonder if the site was down yesterday. Last post was from June yesterday morning.

I wonder if Jeanne Lee is sick. She has not been here in a week or more.

Good morning everyone..

Another wet day out there, no hanging laundry out today..

Thank you Larry,Shirley,Jane and Gloria, he is doing not too bad and looking forward to the last one. This journey had been an eye opener in many ways. We have made a lot of friends along the way.

Laundry day today and I had better try and get some baking done.

Gloria, loved your post on the dogs and we have the top two and that is typical of the breeds. One i so laid back and the other one can vibrate with excitement if you pick up a ball to play with her. I noticed to the Jeanne Lee is MIA.

June, he stays in the hospital for two hours getting his treatment then wears a bottle of chemo home in a fanny pack (he HATES wearing a fanny pack) The chemo in the fanny pack takes 46 hours to empty into his system, then VON will come on Sunday and disconnect it.

Jane, how did Annie make out?

I had better get ready to meet the day, despite wanting to crawl back under the covers..

Enjoy your day everyone..

JaneS

Good morning Everyfriend!  I was exhausted last night when I got home and didn't even check my email.

For all who asked, Annie survived the trip and her ultra sound better than her mother and Mickie survived being left home alone for almost 6 hours.  She was glad to see us and the two doggies stuck together all evening.

I don't really have anything to report.  They did a very extensive test and what they told me was that all her organs except the liver look "very good" but the liver has some abnormalities.  The vet suggested laproscopic surgery to determine the exact cause of the that abnormality.  I asked a few questions, one being would my vet here receive the report.  He said that she would and I will wait for her to contact me.  I've trusted this vet service most of my life.  It was started by a fellow who went to school with me who was later the head of the State Veterinary Service.  Those who've been there since Max left have been the best.  So I expect Dr. Lindsey to call me as soon as she has time to evaluate the report.  I'm thinking that we will probably finish the meds that she gave me and go from there.

My sweet daughter wouldn't let me buy her dinner or pay for the gas for the trip.  She said it's a small thing she can do for me after all I did for her in her life and she was adamant.

Today, I'm working 4 hours of a young fellow's shift because tonight is his prom night and he wanted the time to prepare.  He'd asked just about everyone to switch with him or work his shift with no results.  When he asked me, I told him that I can't work a whole day any more but that if he could find someone to take half of it I'd to the other half.  I've done that with others and management allowed it.  His whoe face lit up with the possibility.  Turns out, he's working the early part (and that suits me fine) and I'm working noon to 4.  He went home happy!

We are waiting for the "empty stomach hour" to pass following Annie's pill before the doggies can eat so I think I'll have another cup of coffee and do my crossword puzzle.  I wish everyone a good day full of whatever you wish for!

A last check before I fix breakfast, load cats & lose patience..... but seeing your post makes it a good day, Joan!!  Glad they are turning you loose and do hope and pray it doesn't take long to get your strength back.  You have been missed (in case you hadn't noticed).

Lots of good news this morning, sounds like you have a plan, Jane, and for sure you made a young man's day.

Jeanne Lee, worried about you and will do some praying as I drive ( that is not dangerous).

Will check in later, busy day ahead & looks like a beautiful week end to dry things out here.  My daughter doesn't leave until Sunday.

What a good way to start they day, something to really look forward to.  Joanie is coming back.  Thank you Lord.  We will be looking forward to Thursday.

JaneS, hopefully nothing drastic is wrong with Annie, I know you will be on pin and needles until you heard from your vet.  Keeping my fingers crossed (and a little prayer wont hurt).

I got to get a move on and get cleaned up.  Men's big breakfast this morning, we will be meeting at a local cafe, they sit aside some room for us.

Amy, I know hubby is looking forward to the last treatment.  Long time to have to wear something you are not used to having on.  Hopefully the chemo has done it's job and gotten rid of the problem.

Everyone have a great day.

Joy

Good morning on this dreary, chilly day.  What happened to spring?????

But one thing does make it a lot nicer............ hearing that Joan will be getting released from the hospital on Thursday.  That is wonderful news to hear first thing in the morning.  We are all waiting for her return.

Too early to have much to say.  Hope everyone will have a good Saturday.

larryhanna

Hi everyone.  It is a nice sunny but cool morning.  We turned on our heat to remove the chill from the house.  It is 52º now but headed up to 70º this afternoon.  We stayed home all day yesterday and other than getting our house nice and clean since our cleaning lady was here, there is really nothing to write about.  It looks like today will be another of the same, which is fine with me.  The only thing I need to do this morning is grate up another pound of cheddar cheese.  I did just get the results of most of the lab work done yesterday and they all are fine.

June, nice to read that you were feeling better and more energetic yesterday.

Gloria, it sounds like your area really got pounded with heavy rains yesterday.  I saw where they had to close some of the public transportation in New York City. Hope your rain is over for awhile.

I just had a nice Facetime Video call from my old coffee group of men that meet at McDonald's.  I got to see and speak to each of them.  Yesterday I had a long video conversation with my best friend over there and was so glad to hear from him as hadn't heard from him in over a week.

Amy, last evening Pat and I watched a documentary on Netflix about different breeds of dogs through different stages of their lives.  It was really enjoyable to see the little puppies and then how dogs had been trained.  So glad your husband has only one more of those chemo treatments.

JaneS, it sounds like you had a successful and tiring trip.  Hope you here from your regular vet soon.  Your daughter obviously loves and appreciates you very much and yesterday gave you a day together away from home distractions.  Nice of you to help the young fellow out working half of his shift.

Joan, what wonderful news.  You have obviously made great progress.  I had sent you a little "thinking of you" card a few days ago and yesterday it was returned as undeliverable as I must have had the wrong address.

Hal, hope you had a good turnout of men for the breakfast this morning.  Our men's group meets in the evening and I have attended most of them since I moved.  If I don't regain my energy that is something I probably will give up.

Joy, it is always good to see your postings as it is for all who post here.

Carol

Welcome back to our world, Joan!!!

Callie:  I hear cattle and crops were ruined in Kansas.  take care.

Hal:  I am forcing myself to drink two glasses of water before my morning coffee.  Not as fun.

Gloria:  We call it whiplash weather

Sandy:  Wish I could help you with your poor hand.  We took a friend to her hand clinic yesterday morning for she had fallen on ice and also broke bones in her elbow.  It looks like a terribly long recovery for her and more surgery too.  May you have a very good and quick recovery.

Gloria de - thinking of your nephew and hoping for his quick recovery

Joan:  fantastic to see you

Larry:  Glad Scott is getting medical attention.  I have a large table on risers for cutting too.

Amy:  Wish you could come and push me into "finishing" my projects.

Jenny:  welcome home.  What store are you talking about?  Have you been to Kneaders for coffee?

JaneS

I'll be off to work in a few minutes so Ray can go home and get ready for Prom.  I have a casserole all prepared to pop in the oven when I come home.  It's a new one to me so I'll have to let you know how it comes out.

Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!

My Bis, what good, good news !!!! God has surely heard our prayers. I'm sure you will rejoice to be home, and I pray you will get strong in a hurry. Please do not push too hard, take your time to just enjoy your home, and being your own boss again. I am sure your family will see that you are taken care of as needed. I am sending you gentle hugs, and more prayers of thanks giving to God.

Well I am back home and have looked at the paper, waste of time.  I really enjoyed our speaker, he was a man who ministers to bikers.  He gave a very interesting talk.  I had a surprise when it was time to pay-out.  Our Minister came up and said he had taken care of the check.  :)  So guess it is time for me to treat him to a lunch.  We had a very good turn out, but hopefully we don't have our breakfast there again.  They are just not organized to handle a very large crowd and you have to tell them what you had and the lady goes through the checks to find yours so you can pay out.  It takes forever to (longer to pay than to order and eat) check out.

I really should go down to Lowes and get a new lamp socket (3 way) and also some rubber tips for our card table chairs, but going down and not finding a scooter I would just have to turn around a come home.  So I think I will wait until Monday Morning early.

JaneS nice gesture on your part for filling in for the young man so he could go to the prom.  It is a big night for him (and his date).  But then it doesn't surprise me that you did the good deed.

Hope everyone's day is going well.

Wonderful news to share......

Mom ( Joan Lavelle ) is doing AWESOME. She's expected to get discharged from Sea Pines at the end of next week.  She's running around on her own steam, chowing down on chocolate and cheeseburgers, and ready to be done with hospital life and MOVE ON. Thanks from our whole family for all your well wishes.

Our thoughts and prayers have been answered!

Jenny, blessed friend. Thank you for the message on our Bis. It sounds like she is truly hale and hearty again. God is so Good !!!!!!!

We are having an overcast day, just a tiny bit of sprinkles, but it still smelled so fresh and clean. I went down to listen to our Guests "Kindred Community Church school." Turned out to be a group of young people, singing and playing Christian songs, and offering "talk" sessions with any who felt the need. It is always so encouraging to see youngsters (and to me that means late teens to late twenties)that want to talk about Jesus. There is hope for the world.

Nothing else on the docket for me today. I am reading a new book, "Silent Takeover." It is quite deep...for me anyway, so takes concentration. I always have a novel going too, so when I just want to relax and fall asleep. I will be going down for lunch soon, then home to nap. The days go by so quickly, I am in no hurry to grow older. ;D

Amy, The folks our here that had the radiation treatments never mentioned a Fanny Pack. They just said they were seated in a recliner with individual t.v.'s to watch and the radiation treatment took four hours. I don't remember now how long they had these treatments, but with some it took many weeks. Knowing about these things makes most of us extra grateful for being as well as we are. Even though we have fatal diseases or ailments, we can still live a fairly normal life, even into our nineties. And for some beyond that age. I wish your beloved good luck in recovery.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

This is the fourth time I've tried to post today.  Every other time, I've gotten "This page not available" when I clicked "Post".

If/when it works,  I'll try to be more conversational.

Edit:  It worked.  Let's hope "the powers that be" will let me Edit.

It's a lovely sunny day in central Oklahoma - made even sunnier by the GOOD NEWS from and about Joan and the positive posts from others.

I went to the plant place and the big supermarket yesterday - BIG mistake because it was the first Friday of the month and also a lovely day.
Last evening,  I finished planting the back "pot garden".  While my neighbor and I were visiting at the back fence, a gorgeous ruby-throat hummingbird inspected our feeders.  His bright red throat was spectacular with the evening sun shining directly on him.

Today,   I took the purple pansies out of the front planters so I could put in a Penta.  I left the yellow pansies in until they fade out or the Penta gets too large - whichever comes first.
I filled a pansy ring with the purple ones so I can enjoy them in the house for a while longer.

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere has had an Enjoyable Day....and that this post goes through.
