Good morning, Callie.  I had no trouble with your link, but neglected to comment.  Sorry!!

Janie--Oh no, you aren't invisible.  When I don't "see you" I mention it.  Hope the "wait for it" project is going well.

JOAN....OR ANYONE ELSE,

DO YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT IS GOING TO BE IN LONDON THIS SATURDAY THE 20th?

There is one ticket to see Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theater....5th row, center, as well as a River Thames cruise ticket.

It is free and easily transferable.....trip plans fell through!  Sad, but a GREAT opportunity for someone!

Good morning everyone,  Cooler this morning and it feels good. Ever feel like you would like to break the routine you are in? That is how I feel lately. Too much time in front of the computer and not doing anything. Thanks to Patricia I now can get the plugins back in PSP so maybe I can do something with it again instead of getting frustrated.

LARRY  terrible the cost of meds these days. Did you see on TV the big jump in the cost of the Eppie pens? I hope I get to see see my son more now.

HAL  will check that link more later but looks like I would like those Sopapillas. Something different for this Yankee. Believe me the Northeast has not had enough rain this summer. More towns are banning outside watering when they never did that before.

JOAN  glad you treated yourself to breakfast out with your friend. A break in the daily routine is good for all of us. I know I enjoy getting out for something other than a doctor appointment.

JOAN  local honey is pure honey. What is sold in stores I have read a few times is not pure honey but watered down. The farm I like sells honey and it comes from their bees who are in the orchards and gardens they plant.

JACKIE  2 good photos

AMY  cinnamon and nuts, I would love those Chelsea buns. My baking days are over  but would have made them at one time. Thanks for the link.

CALLIE  you must be very proud of your Ellen.

JACKIE  I rather bundle up in the winter than try to keep cool in summer.

JOAN  I will enjoy a Cinnabon, could never turn one of those away.  Love the Chuckles and those names for the wine. Food for Thought is a different way of looking at our faith. Love today's quote. Thank you for all today's goodies.

HAL  I wish the best for your daughter. How many great grands is that now?

LLOYD  the coming of TV sure did change our lives.

Jenny--GREAT opportunity, but I don't know anyone.

Sandy--Enjoy your "take it easy" day.

Gloria--Many times I think I should change my routine.  I don't like honey at all, but my husband loved it.

Good morning from another partly cloudy, partly sunny Interior day. I just looked over at Farrah, sitting beside my chair and she was sitting up and batting her front paws at me like a dog turning tricks. I wish those people who mistreated her would receive some of their abuse! It took only a little time to see she is a brilliant, loving animal. The fact that the majority of the domesticated animals are the same is the true tragedy with human selfishness.

There is an entire catalog of university classes available to seniors, but they aren't free as I thought. It is ten dollars a class, steep for me, but I know what the regular students will be paying. I'm not sure if I will be taking any or not as some run at the University later than the buses run.

In the afternoon we had a presentation about diabetes from the nurses at the hospital. That was absorbing as they stressed keeping active and eating more fruit and vegetables and fewer fruit juices and couch surfing.

They also emphasized eating clean and wished everyone would give up sodas, energy drinks, and those syrupy coffee drinks. They described sugar in the blood as sticky, rough shaped molecules that stressed the vessels,  body and caused or contributed to causing many diseases as well as the principal one.

All in all, an interesting day.

The more I hear about television, the more I'm glad I don't have one.

I receive from the farm, a gallon jar of local honey for far less than what you might pay at the grocery store. I do save 15% by washing the jar and returning it back to the farm after each delivery.

JoanFL

angelface--I think it's great that Farrah is such a brilliant, loving cat.  Nice that you can avail yourself of presentations like the one about diabetes.

The couch is calling, so I will soon be having my half an hour afternoon rest.

Good Morning dear ones, I seem to be having trouble waking up. My brain is still in bed, or off in space somewhere.

Hal, congratulations on your new Gr. Grandson. With all those daughters in your life, it must feel strange to have little short-haired males tripping into your world.

My computer had a good sleep last night and is feeling spritely today.

Soon it will be time to go down for lunch, which I must do. Enough of this hermit-izing that I seem to require so much. The world out there is waiting for me to appear..I think.

So, I shall return a library book, eat with friends, then come home and enjoy all of you again.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

What a great picture, Don.  Congratulations to both of you!
Wonderful that you'll be seeing our Pat, too.

Have I mentioned that I'm having a great-niece as a house guest all next week?  My guest room hasn't been used in so long that I was afraid of what I might find "camping out" under the bed when I went in this afternoon.
However, nothing had moved in - so all is in readiness for her arrival on Sunday evening.

Bis, thank you for taking us so directly to the photo of Bubble and Don. What a treat it is to see their happy faces, and they both look so very delighted. And how happy it makes me to know that our Pat is now well enough to travel. I thank God she is out of danger.

I went down for lunch. Brought half of it home for supper. Then went back down for balance and exercise class, so I am happy to be back home and "in" for the day.

DENVER

Wish I was posting that I would be in London, specially for the River cruise.
Am sure there must be someone to enjoy both.

Shirley

Junee, I was thinking the same thing..... do have a friend that has a daughter that lived in London & last I heard, was singing with the opera. Many years since I've touched base with the family.  Another friend's son was a "hot" singer in London.... she brought a poster of him made for the club he was singing at... impressive.  Also have not seen the friend for years.  Life gets full .... I appreciate my today friends (in here) and the few I have in real life where I live now.  I got a lot of mileage out of thinking about your offer, Jenny.... too bad we can't take advantage, but thanks for offering!   :tissue:

JaneS

I took Beverly to visit a friend who lives in independent living at a local facility.  I don't think it's as nice as the place where June lives but she's happy there and that's all that matters.  The 3 of us have been friends for a lot of years.

Also had a quick visit with Natalie and will have a longer one on Saturday before she leaves on Sunday to return to Texas.  She's the one who was married two years ago and is working on her Masters while her husband pursues his Doctorate.  They are busy young people!

Loved the picture of our resident lovers!  Looks like all is proceeding according to God's plan for them.  Be happy Don and Bubble!

I bought the stuff to make salsa today.  Everyone would be disappointed if they didn't get their salsa for Christmas so I better get at it.  I think that will be the plan for Sunday after Natalie goes home.  Don't want to miss any hours with her.

I hope you've all had a good day today.  Mine is finished!  I've tired enough to sleep tonight.  I will say...

Good Night Everyfriend!  and may God bless us, every one!

I am sorry that there is not someone that is in London and could use these wonderful tickets.  I think you are too far away now, JACKIE, but it sure would be nice if you could go, but of course it goes without mentioning your ability to get around would be an issue.  It was worth a shout out just in case.  Seems many have family members that travel over there at times.

LOL, SHIRLEY, regarding you getting a lot of mileage out of thinking about my offer!

JUNEE, it would be onderful if you could transplant yourself in London to take advantage of this offer, but then, IF doing that were possible, I would be on my way and would not be offering it! 😍

Pleasant dreams to all.

JENNY.....
.....Thank you for thinking of me, of course I would have loved to have taken you up on your ticket offer, but you are quite right, too far away and......I would have, and I could have, BEFORE my MS came into my life.....We do have a couple of partners, hubby's and wive's near to us who are in the entertainment business, one couples male partner being quite well know in some well known and popular TV programmes, I have seen the list he has appeared in, I am sure both couples travel into London but being short notice I would exclude asking them, plus I haven't gotten to meet him, nor speak to him yet, have briefly met his wife........As for the second couple, our friends, they do quite a lot of travelling to put on their performances, think more as singers.......Link to first couple....

Food For Thought

A Boll Weevil Blessing
(by Steve Troxel)

For the past several days, my family and I have enjoyed the gracious hospitality of some dear friends in the small Alabama town of Enterprise. Located about an hour north of the Florida coast, Enterprise is filled with genuinely friendly people and good gospel-preaching churches. It is also home of the "famed" Boll Weevil Monument.

In the early 1900's the town of Enterprise was almost completely dependent on the farming of cotton. The economy of the small town rose and fell with the price of cotton and the amount of rain, but most people were able to scratch out a living. Then in 1915, disaster struck. The Boll Weevil attacked and destroyed 60% of the cotton crop - the devastation in the following year was even more complete. The economy was dead and the lives of this close-knit town were in shambles.

Rather than quitting and moving from the area, the people of Enterprise diversified their crops and in 1917 planted peanuts. This move turned out to be a financial blessing which changed the economic make-up of the community for the remainder of the century. Peanuts were better suited to the south Alabama climate and soil - and had a much larger profit margin than cotton.

This blessing was so immediate that in December 1919, the people of Enterprise erected a monument to the Boll Weevil - and rather than calling the Boll Weevil a hated pest, the plaque in front of the monument is written in appreciation to "The Herald of Prosperity."

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

The people of Enterprise showed great willingness to adapt to adversity - without any assurance of success. As Children of God, we must be willing to show even greater determination because we have God's promise of hope - ALL things are working together for the good.

Let's not wait until the good has been revealed by the passing of time before we rejoice and give glory to God - let's begin to rejoice even as the trial is upon us because we KNOW by faith that the good is on it's way. The next time the crops of life look like they're being destroyed, let's praise God and begin looking for a Boll Weevil blessing.

Thought of the Day

JOAN, EVERYFRIENDS......
....good Friday morning......at last we have some welcome rain, not heavy just welcomed, at least by me, not so much by R...

.....they keep showing the little Allepo boy Omran, doesn't it bring tears to your eyes, so heart wrenching....I dont know how others feel but I hate seeing the boy " staged " with the camera man placing him on that seat, then running away to take photos.....I know it is to get response and worldwide attention, and it sure will get plenty of that..... I know this Idea of " staging " is to show the world what is going on, but to use this little lad in this way, is just heartbreaking to see....he clearly is very distressed, traumatised and bewildered, and in need of urgent medical attention......

Amy

Good morning everyone.
Going to be hot and muggy here[ again. Not a lot on the agenda today just a quiet day at home.LOVE THESE!!!

I totally agree on the staged Aleppo child.  Put down that darned camera and comfort that frightened child!  Right now!  Made me angry and sad.  Poor little boy and what terrible things have been done to him.

Good morning!  Sorry I had to vent that but it really upset me when I saw it.

Quiet day today and that is a good thing.  TTYAL  (Talk to you all later).
