Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Hal, I have no idea of what I want another password to be; I know it should be easy, but it isn't for me.

With my second nosebleed last week, my PCP wants me to see an ENT doctor and referred me to one.  He told them it was urgent.  The ENT office called and the first available date was October 17!  Their idea of urgent isn't the same as mine.  I am not sure if my PCP is going to see if he can get it changed or not.

I think that message went to people on my mail contact list so if someone is not on that list, they won't get the message.  I didn't click on the link so I don't know what was said, but if the grammar isn't fairly good, it's not from me!!!

Tom just got home and said there is a large chocolate chip cookie on the counter for me.  Question:  do it eat it tonight?  Or tomorrow morning.

Mary Ann

Mary Ann, who's your favorite actor/actress, niece/nephew, what's your doctors office street address?  How about just a series of your favorite numbers.  Could be combinations of dates of births of your favorite family members.

Yep Jackie and Joanie, the keep running these xrays. ultrasounds and MRI's and keep finding more problems.  Wish they would find something that is aok.

I am worm out and going to bed.

Good night, sweetdreams and God Bless.

Appendix Worry

Old Jacob Johnson, raging hypochondriac, was convinced that the pain on his left side was appendicitis. Mrs Johnson explained that the appendix is on the right.

"So, aha! THAT's why it hurts to much," said Jacob. "My appendix is on the wrong side!"

Food For Thought

The Voice of Family
(By Peder Eide

I love to coach my kids in the sports they play. I have been blessed to coach all my children at different stages and in different sports. It's a treat for me and fills my cup. I love the atmosphere of practice and, of course, game days. Win or lose (though winning is more fun) the amount of life lessons on a game field or court with a group of people called a team are endless.

One thing I have realized is the importance of the sound of my voice. Whether I'm a coach or in the stands when my kids hear my voice, they respond. They play harder, look for me, find new energy, pick up their tempo. The words I shout to them are all affirmation, at least that's what I try to do. Things like "Keep going, move your feet, go hard!" It blesses me when they respond to the voice of their dad.

Did you know how powerful your words are to anyone around you? The thing is that you and I, because of Jesus, carry the Kingdom. When we express words of affirmation and blessing to anyone, we do more than just say something nice. We actually bring a spiritual blessing that is beyond our understanding because of God's Kingdom in us. It's a beautiful way to love someone whether they are easy or hard to love.

Here is an idea for you. Take a sheet of paper and write across the top "I Love (name of someone here) because..." and then write 20-25 reasons why you love that person. Write it for Mom, Dad, a friend, brother, sister, Grandma, etc. Then give it to them in person or via a letter and let God use your words to do what He wants.

It's what family does. The voice of a family member is important.

Shirley

Good morning Joan ....  love The Voice of Family.

:metoo:  Happy Wednesday, (I'm an echo), Callie.

Jenny, always so nice to see your cheerful face.

Hal, you are one tough cookie, those tests will come back
that you have the body of a 16 year old!

Mary Ann, hope you get to the bottom of those nose bleeds.  Try eating high iron foods to see if it helps.

Lloyd, keeping up with a house is a never ending job, do you have help getting that line in? Big job!

Jackie, every time I see your posts my mind flips to your new home landscape and the difference in MY picture of England (Marlow & High Wycombe).  Glad you are enjoying it.

Janie, chasing those zzzzzzzzzzzs is why I'm up at 3:00 am... and here it is 4:20 & I've been playing on the computer for over an hour~  Son is coming over today to work on some things for me so I gotta either sleep or start cleaning & doing some laundry before he shows up.  I think the cats have turned me into a nocturnal animal, they go out when I go to bed & don't come in until breakfast~ whatever time that is, but during last winter they were in & out all night.  Daytime naps ruin sound night sleeping.  Not sure how we'll solve this problem.

No sign of the sun yet, supposed to have T-storms this afternoon... felt like them yesterday with the humidity & wind but didn't develop here.    Shirley

JoanFL

Good morning, Shirley.  You are an early bird this morning.  No sun here yet--it's only 6 a.m.  I did step out on the back porch and it's already HOT and HUMID.

I'm going to get out and do some errands early this morning before the hottest part of the day.

SHIRLEY.....you hang onto your picture of Marlow.....If I remember, Marlow is a very lovely and quaint place....

......HALKEL, yay, a body of a 16 year old.....can you cope with that.... ;D

JoanFL

Good morning Vanilla-Jackie.  It's cool in my house with the a/c running.  I must go out in the heat, but sure won't tarry.

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Thank you everyone for good thoughts and prayers. It seems you get one thing cleared up or managed then another comes along to make life interesting.

No humidity yet....and it will be another hot day here.I ws enjoying the cooler days and I am sure I will be complaining about the winter ones.....no pleasing us for sure.

Got a lot done yesterday including washing my dirty van!!  Not sure what today will bring so will just let it happen, always something to do around home.

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning, Amy.  It's so humid here that you feel wet when you step out.  My car needs a washing and a good detail job, so I'll take it to the place where they do that.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I decided what to do with the rest of the red raspberries.  While I was washing some to have for breakfast, it came to me....can them!  So I finished washing all of them and they are resting comfortably on the kitchen counter in their jars.  I think there might be enough for a couple of cobblers when the snow flies.  One is already ordered for Christmas at my daughter Cathy's home.

I have about an hour to relax before I have to get ready to appear behind my counter at WM.  I might just toss a load in the washer before I leave.

I hope you all have a lovely day and that all the dr. reports are good ones and that all the pipes get finished and that you breeze through whatever else in on you agenda for today.  God bless your day!

Good Morning World and Everyone in it!

Well I am up, coffee is on, scrubbed, washed and teeth gleaming and hair all combed.  My ride will be here at 7:15 and off to get a seed planted in my tummy.
One thing I learned yesterday, it is only a series of three shots, this is my second, and they are not pleasant.

Shirley, not sure it will be a sixteen year old, more like a one hundred and sixteen.  I swear as you age doctors can find more things wrong with you than ought to be allowed.  Jackie, I am not sure I would want to be sixteen again.  My growing up years in some cases were not that great.  Some really hard times.

Amy from what you say in some of your post I am assuming you live in Quebec.
I remember one time driving from Ottawa to Montreal to the airport there to pick up someone and it was nighttime and being an old country boy from Texas I had never seen the Northern Lights.  And they did put on a display that night.  I was thinking I was seeing some furnaces on some steel mills I thought were located in that area.

Well coffee ought to be ready and I need to wheel garbage out to curb, so be back later and you folks better have behaved yourself or no treat today.

Joy

Good morning, Joan and all the other Friends.

A very pretty sunny morning out my window and temperatures are still in the mid 80's.  However,  humidity and higher temps will be returning over the week end.  As I have mentioned before, I prefer the hot summer over the long, cold winters.  And, I am afraid they are not too far off,   Just hate to think about getting cold.  I know, most of you don't agree with that. LOL

Joan, thanks so much for the apple fritters this morning.  Something that I love, but don't think about much.  I have some apples in the fridge that probably are getting old and they would work good in some fritters.  Will have to think about that some more.  Haven't made any for a very long time.  Not hard to make with some bisquick.

Hope everyone will have a good day.

Hi everyone on this beautiful Wednesday morning.  We will be in the low 90's this afternoon and no rain in the forecast. In a few minutes I have to leave to go for an appointment at the Pacemaker Clinic to have my pacemaker/defibrillator checked.  Pat has another chiropractic appointment at 4 pm.  Scott will be out this afternoon and will be fixing the supper for us, which I am more than ready for a break.

It seemed like I was working in the kitchen all day yesterday.  Of course, that is an not the case but sure seemed like it.  I spent for 10 am until noon at the dentists as he found a cavity under a big filling and had time to fix it while I was there so that is what happened.

I have read all the messages posted since yesterday and am bypassing individual comments for today.

JaneS

Lloyd, I sure wish that trade was a possibility but by the time I got there with the berries, they'd probably be spoiled and you wouldn't want to trade your good honey for spoiled berries.  But it's a nice thought.

I'm off to get myself ready for work.  Enjoy your day Everyfriend!

HALKEL.....
.....no I dont suppose you would want to be 16 again, I know I sure wouldn't....( my teens wasn't a good time for me either )  :-X ....but, I wouldn't say no to the body I had when at 21-22 onwards, those were the days I got wolf whistles....now all I would get is some wolf howlers....
.............................
You know when the simple life is enough for you...I was sitting outside my back garden on the wooden log, eating an ice cream cornet, just watching my Benji laying flat on the grass behind me, just a couple of feet away, in the hot sunshine, trying to close his eyes and take in the heat of the day, with not a care in the world.... Only I had all his worry of what is soon to be...then my mind turned to those who do not believe in God, as of R, when I thought how we were all made and born perfect, not all, albeit some with deformities... but the majority...such as eyes to see, a nose to smell, a pair of ears to hear, a pair of legs to walk with, a mouth to put food in, of our choosing, and so on....then my mind turned to us on how we make use of all these " birth " gifts, we can either use them wisely or abuse them....In my mind, how can there not be a God?...

June Drabek

Tisie and Bis, I too was an early bird today. Woke at one a.m. wide awake. I dreamed that Gary called me and said, "Mom notify your bank not to honor your credit card, Susie (my long deceased daughter} is ordering all kinds of things on your account. " Well……that was enough to wake me up, so thoroughly I have not been back to sleep. A dream like that can lead one to thinking…for instance, all my important numbers..like the bank, are loaded on my computer. If the computer failed, I would be up the creek without an oar. Than I thought, "what is my lawyers name ?" So had to go look that up. Got interested in my file drawer and ended up reading my whole living trust….mercy !!!!!!!! What a consoling document that is ! I have nothing to worry my old greying head about, my family is there for me, even if I lose all my senses. Now I am one happy lady, determined to stay alert in spite of little sleep. Today is Gary's turn to teach us a Bible lesson, then he is taking me to get new glasses. Later today I have a date with my doctor downstairs. I hope I am not a zombie by that time.

Hal, I am empathizing with you on all these blasted tests, especially those that are painful. May God grant you strength and patience.

I sure miss my pal Gloria. It must be very frustrating to be computer-less. I don't think I could stand it for very long..I'd have Dan ordering me a new Mac in a big hurry.

Larry, is your son a good cook ? It will be nice to have him spell you for a day. Both my boys cook, Dan especially, he does everything except baking. And Gary is the barbecue expert. I had nothing to do with their talents, I was head chef in my house.

Jackie, I like your meditation while in the garden, and I agree with all you said.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

Just got a phone call and hubby is to go for his CT scan tomorrow.this was quick!!!.

AMY.....
.......I quite agree, that is quick....

JOAN.....
.......I might not be as religious as some, re, practice what i preach as in going to church on a regular basis but, I do believe in being spiritual, re, seeing the beauty in everything, and knowing fully that grab each special moment, those moments when you feel at most relaxed and calm, that you wish could keep forever as, nothing stays the same, I am fully aware of that...As for R, I feel sad for him, he doesn't see, nor appreciate the beauty in anything, he hasn't got a spiritual bone in his body....

halkel

Well, I am back.  I am in a great mood.  The shot was not half as bad as I remember the first one.  It hurt, but only for a brief moment, and then it was over.

So my SIL and myself stopped on the way home at Cracker Barrel and had a bite of breakfast.  June, my Ultrasounds are not painful, just having to go through the procedure is a chore, sometimes.  But thank you for all the kind thoughts.

Jackie, God has been more than generous to me.  Like they say better than I deserve.  I cant even begin to count all my blessings.  Heck, just look at all my good friends here in this group.

Headed to kitchen to get a fresh cup of coffee, anyone want any.  And wife made so raisin cookies last night, I can sneak a couple of those for those that want some.

Had a good day today at WM.  Lines were busy but not too busy to exchange a few words with some nice people as they went through.

Hal, I can't remember the last time I had a raisin cookie.  I stopped putting them in cookies I baked because I had two kids and a husband who didn't like raisins and two other kids who really didn't care and that was loooooong ago.  Mine were oatmeal raisin!  I wonder if I still have the recipe.  No one here but me now and I love raisins....or dried cranberries....or both.

Gonna put my sheets in the dryer and then catch a few zzzzs before I make the bed.  Maybe the dryer buzzer will wake me up.  I don't have to worry about Kiran today because her mother took the day off.  Try not to get into any trouble because I'll be back to check up on all ya'll later!

Janie, these aren't oatmeal.  But they do have raisins.  I love cranberries in anything.  I love the tart and flavor.
