Good morning everyone
Joan, I hope your not sore after your fall yesterday.
We are off to the city to drop off my quilt tops and pick up some finished ones. Will have lunch out then head home.

Joan thank you for breakfast. Your chuckel this morning reminded me of us, if it wasn't for Dr appointments we wouldn't go anywhere  ;D
Enjoy your day everyone

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'll be off to Wally World at 9.  And that' exactly when it's supposed to start raining again.  It's supposed to do that for the rest of the day.

I haven't heard anything about Bethany but I'm assuming that she went home and they are all busy trying to keep up with hospital type care at home.  I'm expecting a message sometime today.  If I don't hear by my break time today, I'm asking!

Make today a good one!

Good morning, Amy.  I am really sore today--guess the day after all the soreness shows up.  Enjoy your outing today.  Glad you enjoyed the chuckle.

Janie--Good morning.  I pray Bethany is healing.  I wish you smiles today at WM.  Glad you liked "God Leading the Dance With Me".

The Schwan's order came yesterday just as it was supposed to.  The driver left it in a huge Schwan's cold bag on my side porch.  Very convenient.  Everything looks in good order but I haven't tried any of it yet so don't know if it will suit us or not.  Of course, after ordering all that and filling up the freezer with it we decided to go out to the diner last night.   ::)  We had a lot of errands to do yesterday that involved a lot of walking so last night I was just too tired to cook.  I think we will try the beef pot pie tonight.

Sorry you are sore and hurting today, Joan.  Hope that will pass soon.

Glad you are feeling better, Lloyd.  Take it very easy when you finally get to go home.

Good morning, Phyllis.  I'll be interested in your assessment of your Schwan's order.  My soreness will just take time to go away.

Hi everyone on a cloudy but warm morning.  I expect to watch a lot of TV today as this is a historic day, as all inaugurations are.  The only thing I may due today is make a trip to our County Seat, about 20 miles away, to finally be able to file my Homeowner's Exemption Form.  I plan on taking the rest of the day restfully.  This is the longest down exhausted period I have probably ever had after I recovered from my first heart surgery 30 years ago.

Scott did take our Granddaughter to the ER after he left here Wednesday night afraid she might have appendicitis but they felt it was something else and so sent her home with some medicine.

Joan, sure glad you have that Lifeline and the fall feature would be valuable were you to pass out and fall or pass out because of the fall.

Callie, we have a big bag of tilapia filets we got at COSTCO last week and the marinating idea is a good one.  I hope I can remember to mention it to Pat. Did they film two Rachael Ray shows on the same day or did Miss Ellen and her friends have to go back for another show?

Hal, glad you are happy with your quick remodeling project and hope you enjoy your shower today.

Time to hit the road so I can get this task completed.  It has been pending for two years now because of the way the law here in South Carolina is written.

JoanFL

Good morning, Larry.  I pray your down period ends soon.  I called Lifeline to get the fall feature added, but had to leave a message on a machine.  Glad that Jennifer's illness turned out to not be caused by her appendix.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, back to sleeping in again.Phone woke me, I am getting a delivery oinf a presrotiom. Glad she calls before she leaves the pharmacy.

JOAN  the chicken soup comes in 1 frozen container and is supposed to be 3 servings. I did have some of it yesterday and it was good. Of course the rest of it is in the fridge now and I will most likely finish it today. It is tasty but more spicy than I am used to in chicken soup. They do have some meals that are single serve.. I have had the coconut shrimp, in onne paskage but can cook as many as you want, same with the popcorn shrimp. They are coated but need cooking. I hope your knees are feeling better today. Please be careful, None of us wants you to hurt to end up in the hospital again. HUGS

LARRY  I used to love the DQ blueberry sundaes. I don't know where any are around here anymore.

JOY  I told the driver and also called Schwan to tell them I will order when I want something. I told the man this time I cannot eat all I bought in 2 weeks or maybe a month either. I only do not like anything thay have that has pasta. At first they gave me delivery time of 6-8 pm. Too late for me. I have seen the truck go by in the afternoon and told them that. Now I get delivery between 11 am -3pm works better for me. I would not be able to wait that long down in the lobby, he calls from the box in the entry and I buzz him in. I have a new book of what they have. I was looking online at all the breakfast foods they have. For me they would be more like my supper than breakfast. I did order a fish dinner this time. I know I should eat fish but I really do not like it. I do find most are salty and I do not use much salt at all.

JANE  we all need to learn to enjoy whatever the day is or what it brings.

LLOYD  glad they are feeding you good in the hospital.

CALLIE   next time I order I think I will get some of the breakfast items. Have to be careful I do not order too much because not much room in the freezer of the rotten fridges they have here. I still miss the one I left at my son's house.

Just heard on local news that some high school seniors are planning a walk out today to oppose Trump being sworn in as President. Goodness give the man a chance to prove what he can and will do.

JEANNE LEE  my lifeline is only good for here in my apartment. Even going into the hall and closing the door it will not work. There are 2 pull cords in here so really do not see where this will help.

PATRICIA  my lifeline is supplied by ny insurance and costs me nothing so I cannot complain about it.

JUNEE  so good to see you pop in this morning.

HAL  I sure hope and pray we now have a good president. Glad your bathroom is done already. Hope it works great for you now.

SHIRLEY  hope that Z pac works for you. Glad you finally broke down and went to the doctor.

JACKIE  5 hours sleep is not enough. Hope you get a good nap in the afternoons.

JOAN  I will enjoy a Danish this morning, either a lemon or cheese one. Tornado, good one. Guidance is a different way of looking at it. Another keeper.  Thank you for all today's goodies.

LLOYD  if they let you go home today you better not get out there with those machines.

AMY  if it wasn't for doctors appointments I would not be going anywhere.

PHYLLIS  my Schwan delivery comes up with a huge plastic bag. I am always here so do not need the cold bag. He always has me sign for it, too. Hope you enjoy what you bought.

LARRY  I plan to watch the inauguration later.

Good morning, Gloria.  Thanks for telling me more about the Schwan items.  Believe me, I don't want to end up in the hospital.  I'm sore all over and covered with bruises--nothing that requires a hospital visit.

Good Afternoon,

Inauguration seems to be in between "events" so I'm checking in.

Larry,  I learned more about Ellen's experience in a text exchange last night.   During the audience warm-up at the taping she and her friends attended, the announcer asked if anybody had never had their ears pierced.
Ellen said she was the only one who put up her hand.
She was asked if she would be willing to have it done on the show (yes, she would) and could she come back the next week to film the segment (yes, she could).
She went back yesterday to do that but the show will be aired at some time in the future.

The show she/friends watched was aired a week after it was filmed/taped - but I don't know it that will hold for the one she's on.

I need to scoot to the grocery store before the school traffic starts.......

Hope Everyone Everywhere is having an Enjoyable Day.

JoanFL

Callie--What exciting experiences for Miss Ellen.

June Drabek

Good Morning all..I just slipped in before noon. Have been watching the Inauguration all day along with any others that happen to come by my Apt. Did take time out to go down for a bandage change. During the night I had a vein leak in my lower left leg so I have a huge bruise there. With the bandage on the right leg, I look more like a mess, but the spirit remains strong and content.

I was impressed with the new Presidents address to us, particularly at the end where he brought God into his speech. HIs wife was lovely in a blue outfit.

Janie,  woke to rain and it has been nicely soaking us since. I love it. The forecast calls for strong winds this afternoon..we will accept what we get, as we have no choice.

Bis, "God leading the Dance" makes the dance so easy, and if we slip and fall, he graciously lifts us up, as He did you in your fall to your knees. It always comforts me to think of how God formed our frame before we were ever born, and when we are in pain, we can call on him to help us bear the pain of the parts that He gave us. May our loving Father heal you quickly….you are so needed by so many of us.

Phyllis, I have three pot pies, Marie Calendar, plus three big frozen dinners in the huge refrigerator down the hall from my apt. My little kitchenette has such a small fridge they would not fit. I am thankful that we have an alternate, just a few steps away.

Larry, if you are still this exhausted you have no business worrying about a Home Owners exemption that makes you go out and drive for twenty miles. You should not be driving two miles my friend, and I am scolding you !!!!!! Is Scott's daughter going to be a permanent arrangement in your lives now ? I can't thnk of a nicer place for her to finish growing up in.

Gloria, they are still bringing three meals a day to our rooms, and I found today that we do NOT have 300 residents..it is more like 150, and I heard they have an almost one to one in employees. I KNOW from personal care that the employees are all devoted Christians. Caring, loving, interested, kind people. I agree with you about the protestors to the Presidential choice. Their behavior is costing us increased expense for one thing, and their reasons for protest are not going to change anything. People are harmed, jailed, shamed, so what have they gained ?

I'm going back to the Inauguration hoo-rah…the Press is have a real ball. See you later…….
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

June--I am  a mess of black and blue, but they'll heal in their own time.  I've had to take some pain killers so I could walk around--can't lie on the couch until this is over.  Nice you have an alternate fridge down the hall for things that won't fit in yours.

Sandy

Joan....  you must have taken a terrible fall to be so bruised that you can't lay on  the couch for a while..

I had a lot of sun shinning in my Windows today but
it is almost time now for  the sun to go away for the night.

It just reminds me of how much I really hate January and February,  until the Sun starts hanging  around longer.   The good news about this time of the year?  Each day it is passing and getting further behind us!!

I hope that everyone is having a good day and Joan,  I hope that  you and everyone else who is out of sorts,  are feeling better soon.

Good noontimes everyone! The Interior is slowly coming out of the deep freeze and it is only minus 24 instead of minus 44! I find it hard to believe that we will be warming further with eight to ten inches of snow expected next week. The reason for this is that the skies have cleared and are now a pale blue/white. In the winter, warmth comes with a cloud cover to hold the warmer air in. A clear sky signals colder weather, so we shall see.

Farrah isn't playing with her toys and follows me about each time I get up to go anywhere. She would, I think, enjoy having a buddy cat to pal around with but unfortunately that isn't allowed.

With all the political posts here from several posters, I must have missed the new political label for the Soda Shoppe?

Otherwise, we remain the same. I hope everyone, recovers from whatever ails them and those healthy, stay that way. Enjoy your day!

Shirley

Point taken, Patricia.....   :-[     And about Farrah, these cats are starting to act like spring fever... and same with the Canada geese.  Geese are roaming the front yards and that doesn't happen except in spring (we aren't pleased about the mess on the driveways, either).  Cats are all "fixed" but something in the air, I guess.

I'm going to try to sleep this away.... wonder how many days it will take.

Lloyd Hammond

I am home very tired. I just hit some of the high spots, Larry looks like the are after you now, I will try to do some catch up tomorrow. I am calling it quits for the day, have a great rest of the day,

Lloyd

JoanFL

Sandy--I did take a nasty fall.

Folks--PLEASE--no political posts.

Shirley--It'll just take some time to heal.

Angelface--See my post above about politics in the SS.

Lloyd--I am sure you are glad to be home.

Bis, I bruise as easily as you do. I can get a bruise without even bumping anything. They can just appear. I hope yours heal up soon, they can be very painful.

Tisie, I do hope you are feeling better soon. You do so much, your body doesn't get a chance to mend.

Lloyd, best thing you can do is to do nothing…you just got out of the hospital, so give that body a chance to adjust.

I just came back from a walk, but feel I should do some more…all that t.v. watching has my eyes tired and the body slouchy, so off I go.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

CHUCKLES

The Accident

My six-year-old grandson called his mother from his friend Charlie's house and confessed he had broken a lamp when he threw a football in their living room.

"But, Mom," he said, brightening, "you don't have to worry about buying another one. Charlie's mother said it was irreplaceable."

Food For Thought

A Righteous Israelite
By Arie Leder
Scripture Reading: Ruth 2:1-16

Pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.
Ruth 2:16
Righteous Israelites were scarce in the time of the judges, for people generally did as they pleased. What would the ¬owner of the field where Ruth was gleaning be like? Would he be upright and honest, or would he take advantage of a poor foreign widow?
Boaz turns out to be righteous: he respects his workers and ¬acknowledges Ruth’s kindness in staying with Naomi and gleaning grain for her. Further, Boaz tells his workers to go beyond the letter of the law as stated in God’s Word; he gives willingly from his abundance without being asked to help Ruth and Naomi. Boaz also encourages Ruth to glean until the harvesting is finished. Boaz does what is right in God’s eyes.
Boaz and Ruth’s righteousness proceeds from letting God’s Word shape their lives. Righteous living is the key to a life of blessing for God’s people.
Jesus therefore tells his disciples to glean their “harvest” from among “the lost sheep of Israel” (Matthew 10:6), and Jesus himself brought his good news and healing to people outside Israel (Mark 7:24-37).
Today we, who are Gentiles like Ruth, are also temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19) and instruments of righteousness (Romans 6:13). May each of us also let God’s Word shape our lives.
Wherever our eyes look and our feet take us, Lord, let us be righteous neighbors by the power of your Spirit. In Jesus, Amen.
