Patricia, good system of security in your building.  Stacey had something similar but not quite as sophisticated and a visitor had to sign in at the security desk.

Gloria, I will sometimes click on the link for one or more of the featured items but don't go beyond that.  I am sure I miss a lot of good stuff.

Hal, you sounds like me in having to wait for one 1099 that relates to some Government Housing Bonds.  I am sure I could probably figure it up from the statements I have and the website but always wait to be sure I have the document in hand.

Joan, yes the person at Walmart brings out the items, most of which will be in separate bags and places them in the truck or back seat or where ever you want them to go.  You then just use your finger to sign on a little screen and be on your way.  You don't have to get out of your car if you don't want to.  Pat said as she prepared the last order that it is just too easy.  There was one item they were out of and the young man told me which one.  I was able to get it at the other Walmart to went to last for the prescriptions.  I hope the shopping is done for awhile.

JoanFL

Linedancer--Too bad your driver changed your appointment.  How nice that your neighbor brought you lentil soup.

Larry--Getting the groceries by ordering online and picking up sounds easy enough.  Too bad there's not a helper at home to unload them.

Good morning, we are still warming up, but the snowing has stopped. Farrah is now staying in the bedroom again. I purchased a new pillow, and she discovered it soon after. So she isn't staying under the bed but upon it.

Gloria thank you for reminding me of the right word. I couldn't remember key fobs. Larry, something happened in one of their Anchorage buildings that caused them to rewire all of their buildings, and the fobs are so handy, especially if your arms are full!

We have that home ordering here for Fred Meyers and Safeway, but it is expensive and not worth it for small singles ordering. Walmart doesn't offer it except for bush orders.

Good morning, EVERYFRIEND.

JOAN, I see there is a Piggly Wiggly in Fairhope near your family.  I knew there were a few in the Panama City area of Florida.  I am not sure if they were ever out west....just do not remember.  I have been reading about the start of P W stores and it is quite interesting.  Amazing what all one can find out with just on click of a key stroke.

GLORIA de....sorry you might have to cancel your appointment....sure would have been nice if it had been at 11 and you had been and back home.  Lentil soup....yumm!

GLORIA, I sure hope you do not have to cancel your appointment...I, too, hope the shot will do good for you like the last one did.  Thx for the explanation about the chowders.

JACKIE, we are still at home.....will still be going but things are a bit confusing right at the molment.  Seems when we have too many options it muddies the water and I don't deal well with it!  Hubby does not want to be gone as long as I thought we were going for, so we are on hold!

I am off to get something accomplished.  ENJOY this last day of January!

Jane , I see Hal explained it to you, and I don't mind trading with you  :)

Saw a few deer on our way to the city but nothing coming back. Hubby will pick up his new glasses in about 5- 10 days. I sure hope they are in by the 9th as I have an appointment then too. Glad to be home and supplies all put away...now I am just going to relax a bit before supper.

Carol

Hi Jenny!  Nice to see your post - now one of your sons will move to Boston?  Which one?  The boys sure keep moving.  --- you would like today in AZ.

Amy:  I have to bring the quilt home in May because I cannot figure it out for sewing without putting in on a flannel cloth on my wall at home.  Here, there is no room.  Unless, company stops coming.  Thinking of you and your hubby.  Relax and take a deep breath whenever possible.

I hope everyone who is ailing will recover quickly.  The new flu sounds terrible and we are all wondering where that bug began.  There are now cases of tuberculosis in the US which has not been seen in years.

Don bought the ALEXA and we do enjoy listening to music on demand.  ALEXA is always listening though - spooky.  So, we unplug it at times.  It plays radio stations we listen to from afar and song selections - for instance, I can listen to John Denver, Il Divo, classical or ABBA and it will play until you tell it to stop.  There is no monthly fee for that gadget so that is a plus.

JoanFL

Amy--It's time you relaxed a bit.

Carol--I hadn't happened to see about the TB cases.  Scary!!  I am such a dummy that I don't even know what ALEXA is.  I guess I should "google" and get myself informed.

Joan I didn't know what it was either and had to google it

A few quick notes, we had a Piggly Wiggly in Fairbanks for most of the fifties and sixties.

My neighbor has Alexa and tends to turn it off because she says it interrupts when she is talking on the landline or to her parrot. The parrot talks to Alexa all the time and the device minds the parrot!  ;D

After all that snow we had here, there is only three inches now on the ground.

I have had my busiest day since I was in the care facility. First I had to go down for fresh bandage on my leg, then went to hear one of our Missionaries speak about his upcoming trip to Africa. He has been there before and showed some movies about what they do. I liked to hear that they daily feed hard boiled eggs to the children. One egg daily gives them the extra nutrition they need. They eat mostly starchy things. then on to lunch, then to the Food program I belong too, then directly to our balance and mobility class. Now I am through for the day,and glad for it. I feel like getting into my sleeping clothes and just sack out,but I may decide to go down for a light supper, or maybe not. Home has a lovely flavor about it.

We had another nice sunny day. High of 74, and down to 47 during the night. What a great life it is !!!!!!
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Lindancer

Joan a RH member called to check on me, there was a noise in the back ground, and she said it was here Alexa talking.  I had no idea what she meant.  Still snowing lightly, and I have to go to the hematologist to morrow for my shot.

Hello Everyone,  I'm afraid I've been a couch potato most of the the day...or maybe part of the day I was a recliner radish.   I alternated between the two.  I did get to work.  The snow wasn't as bad as they thought it was going to be.  My neighbor across the street came and shoveled my driveway while I was gone.  Nice to come home to a clean driveway.

I'm going to go to bed early tonight because I have to be up and attem early tomorrow.  The guy is coming to take down a tree that has to go before it goes on it's own and I have to be dressed and ready for work before he gets here.  I don't go to work until 3 tomorrow but that's about when he expects to finish.  And I don't want to have to be in the shower while he's out there and have him finish early.  So...

I will bid you all a pleasant Good Night and may God bless us, every one.

I have had some supper at home. Just too tired to leave the apartment, so I will be an early to bed. I want to go down for Bible study tomorrow at 10 a.m. but that is the only plan I have for the day. I will have three more pills delivered tonight and that will take care of my 15 of the day.

I pray you all have a peaceful night and a great tomorrow. Hugs, Love and Prayers, June

Twin Beds

An older couple was asking for a room with a king, queen or double bed. The clerk apologized and said that the only rooms available had twin beds.

Disappointed, the man remarked, "I don't know. We've been sharing the same bed for 44 years."

"Could you possibly put them close together?" the wife asked.

Several people nearby smiled, and someone commented, "How romantic."

Then the woman finished her request with, "Because if he snores, I want him close enough to be able to punch him."

Food For Thought

No Plunder in Persia
By Arie Leder
Scripture Reading: Esther 9:1-17

But they did not lay their hands on the plunder.
Esther 9:10, 15, 16
One of war’s tragic consequences in times past was that the victors plundered their enemies. This enriched some generals and the war industry; it also helped to pay soldiers, provide food and drink, and build weapons of war. Most of all, however, despoiling the enemy bled their economy dry and reduced their community to servitude.
But the Jews in Persia did not plunder the enemies who tried to destroy them. No one could stand against the Jews, in part because fear of Mordecai moved many government administrators to help them. The Jews’ main goal was relief from their enemies, not plunder.
Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the ¬forces of evil in the spiritual realms. Christians take up the armor that God has decreed for them, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. Christians are also urged to let God’s Word judge “the thoughts and attitudes of the heart,” for that Word is “alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow” (Hebrews 4:12).
May God bring into his kingdom the people from all nations whom he favors through Jesus Christ. Then they too will celebrate “relief from their enemies.”
We praise you, O God, and we look forward to the time when every knee will bow before you and every tongue will confess that you are Lord. Amen.

Good morning everyone..

Lightly snowing here at the moment. I hadn't planned on getting up this early but Charlie (horse) had other ideas. Not a lot planned for the day other than a cat nap or two.

Joan thank you for breakfast

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone, I sure am awake early this morning. Yesterday went good with those shots. It was starting to snow when I got there. Of course I was half hour early but when I was done and came out of the room to the desk it was really snowing and hard.  By the time the ride got there, late as usual, we had 2 inches of snow. The doctor spent a lot of time checking just where to put the shots, he hit 1 spot and my left leg came up off the table.  That surprised him, too. He said my spine is a mess. Odd it never really bothered me till arthritis set in. I never knew I had scoliosis till 6 years ago when I got the first Xray of my back.  I did Laid on the couch when I got home and fell asleep for 2 hours. Missed my Skype time.  Was in bed by 9 last night and slept great. Back feels much better this morning.

JOAN  your DD's yesterday sure got me through the day.

HAL  no problem getting to the appointment but is was  a little scary getting home with that heavy snow coming down.  Visibility was bad, the lady that was driving was a careful one and I was glad for that, she did not speed on the slippery roads. The man who took me talked the whole way. Have fun with your taxes, glad mine is very simple.

SANDY  you are right about February, we have have years with a 14 to 17 inch snow storm on Valentine's day. I sure remember 1 year with a 20 inch snowfall on St. Patrick's day. Never can tell what will happen here in New England.

LARRY   yesterday started with bright sunshine but we ended with snow a little after 1pm.

GLORIA de  when I saw it just starting to snow when I got to my appointment I thought it would not be too bad an hour later but it fell fast and piled up. Took longer to get home than it did to get there but I am glad the driver was careful.

LARRY  there are many different interesting items in those links in Babamail. I do not check all of them, only the ones that interest me. I have saved some of the recipes they have at times. When I order online they bring the groceries up and put the bags where I want them. This week my CNA was here at the right time and helped put everything away. That was a big help. Sometimes they would be out of an item and would tell me but most times I get every thing on my list.

PATRICIA  since I moved here they have changed the fobs. Some lost theirs so she had to get them a new one. Then found out one man gave the one he lost to a son who had been banned from here. Now the new fobs are all numbered and if lost will be cancelled and no good. They also had to change the box for the fob to work. They also changed the call box where guests call our rooms, easier now.

JENNY  back felt much better this morning. I think the laying down and falling asleep yesterday helped it relax and a good night sleep did the rest. I told him how much that first shot helped and he was happy to hear that.

AMY  would be great if the glasses and your appointment are on the same day. You need a break from all that driving.

CAROL  I see the ad for Alexa on TV and it looks great. Glad to know someone who has it and enjoys it.

JUNE  I am getting to the stage I dislike going out, rather just stay home.

JANE  good idea to get that tree down before it falls and causes damage.

JOAN  an omelet will hit the spot this morning. Need something nourishing after not eating much yesterday. Twin Beds made me laugh, good one. Thank you for today's goodies.

Good Morning Everyone!

Gloria, that was good news that your shots helped.  Hope mine does later on this month.

You folks are talking snow and I have the a/c folks coming today to put in my new unit. Don't know how long that will take but I suspect a good portion of the day. And my checkbook.

Amy keep an eye on old charlie, he can be nasty.

Better get my coffee and get cleaned up before the a/c people show up.

Temp here is 43 with a forecast of high of 80 today and lots of sun.

Bis It is not the snoring that has been bothering Nancy. It has been this terrible cough I have. But last night I was able to ware My Mask and sleeping machine all night and we both got reasonable rest for a change. wish you all a great day.

Hi everyone.  It is going to be another beautiful in the low 70's day with no rain.  Not much to write about today.  Pat has a PT appointment at 11 am and then I will have dinner this evening at the Church with Scott and hopefully Jennifer.  Then they will come out to the house for a time of visiting.

June, I agree it would be nice if there was a helper to get the groceries into the house.  We do have a utility cart in the kitchen that we can bring to the garage door into the house and put the groceries on it so they can all go into the kitchen at one time.  So I just have to get them from the truck of the car to the garage door into the house.  We have a fairly long hallway into the kitchen so that helps.

Patricia, I read yesterday that Walmart is lowering its free 2-day shipping delivery amount to $35 dollars with no annual fee such as Amazon has for the Prime service and that they now have this service in 600 stores with plans to expand to many other stores this year.

Carol, it sounds like you will have to go back home to Colorado to get any rest from your visitors.

June, you were quite the social bee yesterday with all of your activities.  Glad you felt up to doing all of that.

Gloria, glad you were able to get the shots yesterday and that you feel much better today.  We have had good luck of having only a couple of items out of stock or needing a substitution.

Hal, will you be like Jack Benny and have to open the vault to get to your checkbook?  :)  I sure do miss the old comedians.  You are going to be about 10 degrees warmer than we will be today.

Lloyd, it sounds like you are getting better and I bet your got a good nights sleep with the CPAP machine.
