Good Morning Everyfriend!  We got up at 5:45 this morning which is a reasonable hour when you have 2 dogs and you make them go to bed at 10 pm.  I was still feeling a bit under so I curled up on the sofa and I found those missing zzzs from the night before!  I slept until almost 7 and the doggies allowed it.

Beverly, the pickles are Cinnamon Sweet Pickles.  The recipe I got from Callie a couple years ago.  They were such a hit that I make them regularly now.  Everyone I share them with, loves them.

Right now it's 64 here and we are only supposed to have a high of 82.  Not bad for late June in Central PA.  I could take this weather all summer but I know we're in for some high temps in July and Aug.  (The height of the canning season.

Have a good day Everyfriend!

Good morning, Lloyd.  Ha, Ha about my car.  Thanks for your chuckle.

Amy--Good morning.  Hopefully you won't have to wait to long for them to get the part for your car.  At least you have another vehicle that has a/c that works.

Good Morning, Janie.  Glad you caught up on your sleep last night.

Gloria just called me.  Her computer is down AGAIN.  She had already called the tech that HP sent yesterday, and he said he'd try to work her in today.  Needless to say, she is totally fed up.

Good Morning Everyone!

Yep Jackie I saw in your paper today that you will be leaving the EU and become Great Britain once again.   EU bureaucrats must be sobbing in their beer today.

Warm out here, already.  They are finally saying we will have a change in our weather pattern, the summer high is going to break down and let us have a chance for some rain, which we can use.  Not much of a chance, but a chance.

Bless Gloria's heart.  She is having a time of it with that computer.  They could have saved time and money by just replacing it.

Happy that Sun is making progress, hopefully she will be back soon.

Coffee is ready, who wants a cup or a warm up.

JoanFL

halkel--Good morning.  They keep saying we're going to have some rain, but it just doesn't happen.  I'd like a refill on the coffee.

Good Friday afternoon......

Got a phonecall yesterday evening from Poole Hospital.....receptionist gave me some dates bringing forwards my MS Consultant appointment by 2 & a half months, so I took next Tuesday 3.pm....Got some distance to travel, also we dont know this large hospital...to make matters worse, I don't have my Blue ( disabled ) Badge yet, so cant park at the nearest disabled parking spot.... so R will have to drop me off outside the main door once we find the dept I need to go in, then he will have to drive off to the road away from the hospital they have told him best to park in, could take R some time before he gets back to me....There is a multi storey car park away to the side but it is meant for short stays, I wont know how long I have....

Now all I am awaiting on is my urinary bleed scan appointment...

Monday I booked a Benji appointment, this is for a second opinion and monitoring, re, his cancer...

Well you know what they say, the only life we get as we age is vets, G P visits or hospital appointments....well at least it is getting me out of the home...Guess I can now call this my social life.....

I don't know how HP can stay in business.  I've never known anyone, including myself, who has had good luck with any of their products.

OK, Jeanne, I must be the exception that proves the rule.  I had an HP computer for 6 years and never had service on it.  But when it went....it went.  In fact, it was almost 7 years.

I'll take a coffee refill, Hal.  My cup's been empty for a couple hours.

HA, HA!  Janie.  I knew there had to be someone!   ;D  And I'm sure there are others or HP wouldn't be in business.

Hi everyone on another hot South Carolina morning.  I have finished my outside chores and plan on spending most of today inside where it is cool.  I awoke at 6:30 this morning but decided to pick up my phone and read my email and these message boards before getting up for the day.  Other than to reset the times on my watering system to earlier in the mornings I have no other definite plans and will just play it by ear.

Yesterday morning was busy as after coffee and taking my friend back to his house I stopped at Aldi's for groceries, came home and unloaded and put them away and then Pat and I went to Chick-Fil-A for our main meal of the day.  I came home and rested for a couple of hours and that was basically it for the day.

Joan, would have had no objection if you had kept the heat and humidity down your way.  We are headed to 97 this afternoon.  The morning is overcast so far and that help the heat some.

June, it must be unusual for a living facility to have a full time RN on duty around the clock.  I expect she stays pretty busy with all the residents you have living there.  Glad you had such a good time at the Hawaii celebration.

Carol, hard to fathom why someone hired to clean would complain about doing the work.  Guess it takes all kinds.  I didn't know how much friends providing some meals in the time of need could mean.  We experienced it with Pat's surgeries and then the passing of Stacey and we were so grateful.  There are many, many good people everywhere.  On Wednesday Pat had both of her crockpots in use.  We ate the stew Wednesday evening and expect we will have the chicken she fixed tonight.

Amy, good attitude about your upcoming car repairs.  At least he recall work won't hit your billfold.  Are the chocolate factory, bakery and quilt shop close together?

Hal, your tooth sounds like the one I babied as long as I could until it broke off one day.  Fortunately the dentist was able to do a crown on the tooth.  However, I still am very careful with my front teeth.  Hope you new filling lasts a long time.

JeanneP, having my Motor Club membership and my cellphone always available, I don't worry about getting caught out.

Callie, I guess you should be able to see the cookie for the chocolate chips.  Thanks for the explanation.  Pat and I also moved to Oklahoma City from the Kansas City area within the first year of our marriage.  Being away from family initially is a pretty good way to establish your independence and learn self-reliance.

Jenny, it sounds like you all need a vacation from all the babysitting.  Having little ones around, even thought we dearly love them, is exhausting as they have so much energy and we don't.  Glad you got the mobility scooter as it will make being out and about much easier and less tiring for you.  When Stacey got the electric wheelchair after losing her leg, she could no longer come out to our house as we had no way of transporting it and she wasn't strong enough to use crutches.

I join all in being glad that we have heard from Sun and from Gloria although I see the fix on her computer didn't work.  Her new computer is obviously a lemon.  I sure hope she hadn't started reloading her software onto it.  I wouldn't consider buying an HP computer or another HP printer.  I do wish we would hear something from Kelly.

Sun, my best friend, who has Parkinson's Disease now used Dragon Naturally Speaking and loves it.  It does a great job on typing exactly what he says with few corrections needed.

deAngel, certainly not the news you wanted to hear concerning your grandson.  Is he still in ICU?

Jackie, glad your appointment has been moved up to next Tuesday.

JoanFL

Good morning/afternoon Vanilla-Jackie.  At least you got your one appointment changed and it'll be sooner.  Let us know what the vet for the second opinion says about Benji.

Jeanne Lee--Good morning.  My second computer was an HP, and I got good service from it until it died.  Since then I have had Dell's.

Janie--Guess all brands have lemons.

Good morning, Larry.  Believe me I didn't send the HOT and HUMID weather to you.  It's still here.

We have had HP printers for years and have always had good luck with them.  But, never an HP computer.  Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what company it is or how much you pay for extra bells and whistles....sometimes, you just get a lemon.  I'm sorry that this time it is Gloria who is going through the aggravation.

Off to the grocery store.  I shall not tarry between house and car and store and back again.  It is VERY humid here today.

Phyllis, you are right.  It isn't just computers that are sometimes lemons.  I had a Chrysler several years ago that was in the service department 16 times when it had less than 1,500 miles on it.  The Lemon Law in Arkansas says that if you have a problem and they can't fix it with three visits to  Service, they must replace the vehicle or give you your money back.  Chrysler thought they were beyond the law.  I finally had to get in on a class action suit filed by the Attorney General's office to get a new car.

BEVERLY - Many thanks for your thoughts RE Mohamed.  He has been in to visit with his Maryland Dr. this morning and called me 3 times this morning already.  It's ben like I was sitting in the exam room listening to the Dr. with Mohamed! He's reached a point in his health issues where he needs to become more familiar with what a lot of us experience as we age.  Mohamed is in his early 60's now and has always been very, very healthy.  Not accustomed to regular medical checks, etc.  We certainly are going to have some very serious conversations focused on his health when he returns in a few days.

Good afternoon, as I have already written it is a pleasant day.

Larry, I have to tell you I am no longer so depressed. Just hung up the phone from Jess, and they had just moved him out of ICU after10 days.  they are now doing a lot more test.  Then he will go to rehab in Pensacola. Prays do help, and I have to say I am in better shape this afternoon. I now will go grocery shopping.

Jackie, I sure pray you will have better news, when you to Benj to a differnt Vet.
I agree with all of you, Gloria should only get a new computer.  I must say my HP owns me nothing, it is nealy 8 years old. If I buy another one I will buy it from Best Buy. They have the Geek squad, that comes right to the house to set it up and take care of it. Most of the park does business with them.

Joan, thanks for goodies.

Linedancer--Wish our weather was as cool as yours.  GREAT news that Jess is out of ICU.  I continue to pray for him as he starts rehab.

Molly--I continue to pray for the health and safety of all of your family.

Oh for the good old days.  I lost my car ignition key and bought a new one today: $124.00!!! I think the last time I bought a replacement ignition key it was $10.  But now they have to be programmed and cut on a special cutter

JeanneP

#201
One thing that makes it good Don is if you loose your car key anywhere in the USA. We thought lost in N.Orleans few years back. They can Start your car if close to home or they can program another key and express it to you. Maybe now they have a new way in the new cars that will make it you will be able to go to A lock smith. Call dealer and they will give code so he can make a key.  Either way will never get on for $10 done now.  I always have about 4 keys made when I get another car. Keep a spare in my wallet so always have it close. Tried putting them under the car but they fall off
JeanneP

JoanFL

Radioman--that sure is expensive for an ignition key.  Guess I'd better guard mine.

JeanneP.--I have a spare key that only I know where it is hidden.

I lost one a while back and I asked when I took it in if it was possible to get another.  He said "The new one will cost $128.00".  I said, "I think I'll keep looking for a while."  It took from June until October when I put on my winter church coat.  There was a hole in the pocket and it went through into the lining.  Whew!

Back, when I was in college, I took Speech, as many do and it was a large class about three hundred. I remember, besides my shaking and nerves, that our first three-minute speech was to be about our greatest frustration.

Mine was about parents behavior in retail and other public areas and how parents behaved with their children, either violently or pushing it off to the store personnel. I still remember one harried mother with a trio of young who pointed me out and said, "See her? If you misbehave, she will take you to the police who will put you in jail!"

I also remember working in an import-export store with crystal, glass, china, pewter, silver and gold. Parents entering the mall would drop off their children at our door, regardless of signs pointing out that no child was to enter without a parent or guardian. We finally would have a clerk take the child directly to the mall office if we found one unattended.

However, I was a minority of one. Each and every person in that class other than myself spoke of driving and cars.

June Drabek

How good it is to see our Gloria and Sun back with us again. Even a short message is so welcome. Sun dear, I pray God will touch and heal your arm very soon. I have missed you my dear one. And Gloria, I know how frustrating it has been for you with the darn computer problems. Lets hope they are all in the past and in the days to come, your Grandson will be able to come and help you straighten out any problems. I have missed you very much

I am back. I suddenly felt the need to lie back and read, so I did it.

Janie, I am happy you found your zzzzz's. We should listen to what our bodies tell us more often, and we wouldn't wear out as quickly as we do…I speak for myself, but hopefully to assist others too.

Bis, Gloria has certainly been pushed to the limit as far as her computer is concerned. I think I would be ready to threaten legal action, and carry through with the threat if necessary. These big concerns think we have to control. It is time they learned differently.

Jeanne Lee, my Mac is going on 9 years, and I have only had minor problems, like now..my computer girl has installed Adobe Flash player for the third time, and it keeps failing. Not the fault of the computer but the program itself, as I understand it.

Larry we have more that one R.N. working. One girl could not handle all of us, and believe me that little Clinic is busy from morning till bedtime, but still on duty. There is are male R.N.'s that take the night duty. If there is a serious problem they call our own doctor and follow directions. That is how I ended up in the hospital last time.

My car had a special ignition key that differed from the other one, maybe that is why they are so costly now. I am free from car troubles now and very thankful.

My housekeeper just finished cleaning my bathroom, so I will go in and shower and shampoo, and hopeful I will be refreshed. I think part of my problem is too much activity at the Luau yesterday. I just have to learn to act my age. But I had such a good time.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

Janie--You were lucky to find that key.

angelface--I bet you got on A on that speech.  It sure showed you were able to "think outside the box".

June--Gloria sure has given them more time than I would to either fix that computer or give her a new one.  By now I would have sought legal counsel.

A good Friday evening to EVERYFRIEND.

FIRST OFF, my thanks to those of you that commented on my complaints yesterday.  It is true, we are both just tired and not able to handle the responsibility of these young grand's that we love so much.  As sad as I am to say this, I think we are done doing full time care.... And I will say, I do believe the families will understand.

Today the day started at 5:45.  Think the boys are on Central time, even though they went to bed on Mountain time! It worked out well though as we were able to get out the door and be at the zoo just after it opened.  My new cart is a delight.  It is so peppy and I was able to drive it everywhere I wanted with no problems.  I am so lucky to have it and this is the exact reason that I wanted to get one.

MARYANN, I remember Norm's "old blue" very well.  We plan to look into one of the scooter carriers, but Bob was able to take off another section so it is light enough for him to lift it in now with no problem. It says the heaviest part is 28 #'s.

JACKIE, so pleased to read that the appointment has been moved up to next week.  Have been holding only positive thoughts for you when you take Benji in again. We have been watching and waiting for the announcement of the vote regarding BREXIT.  glad that you were for it and are happy that it passed.  I felt it is the best for GB, however I knew it was going to negatively effect our stock market....and boy howdy did it ever!

JOAN, loved your goodies again today, as I always do.  Thank you very much.

GLORIA, I know you are having MORE problems again, so will not be able to read this.  I am SO sorry for the grief you have had.

GLORIA de.  Happy to read that Ross has been moved out of ICU.  I, too, so wish you were able to go to FL to visit him.  He sure would love it too.

I must get a little dinner for the boys, good night toEVERYFRIEND.

Jenny, I am so happy that you do recognize the fact that it is time to quit your baby sitting. You did a beautiful job raising your own children, and I am sure you had no "baby sitting" for your four. i'm also happy that you were able to enjoy your scooter. I am still learning that I am no longer a Spring-chicken. My great fun of yesterday, stole today away from me. I was so worn out last night, from my extra exercise of hula dancing, plus the rich food I ate, that today was recovery time. I will remind myself of today when the next activities arise..and they are plentiful.
As long as we are here, let's dance.
