Good morning everyone.
A cloudy, breezy day here.  But warm.
And a happy St. Pats day from a Kelley.  My  ggranddaughters first birthday, so family is getting together for pizza and a celebration.

Gloria thank you for your card, very nice.

Tidied, thanks for the French toast.  Yummy.

June hope you feeling up to snuff this morning.

Joanie, you also.

Amy do try to behave yourself today.

Larry hope your appointment goes good.

Lloyd, well just try to injure yourself, to much....

Shirley

Glad everyone enjoyed the French toast.  When I found French toast in the freezer at the grocery store I decided I liked mine better so started making it & freezing in packs of 2 or 4 slices each.... One time, many years ago, I took some to my father... I had bought imitation vanilla during a price hike of vanilla.  First bite my father looked at me & said, "you didn't use REAL vanilla!"  I couldn't tell the difference~ never used imitation again. He ate it anyway.

I got up at 6:00 am & fixed Hal's egg with salsa & cheese & couple pieces of toast (good stuff), puttered around until about 10:00 (feeding cats & cleaning a litter box)...

Got to make a run to Sam's Club for a chicken for cats & next door to Walmart for a big bag of Friskies Indoor-Outdoor Delight dry food.  I just got a $56. monthly order from Chewy, of their canned food & bought 10 big cans of Chicken of the Sea (people) salmon (I watch for sales at Walgreen).  A can a week, they (4) get a tablespoon for breakfast.  Since I never was the cat lover (had lots of feathered friends over the years)... I think these guys are taking advantage of me....

Thought I'd better fill my tummy with a couple pieces of French toast before heading out.  I'll stop by Taco Bell & bring home 2 of their "spicy bean toastadas", the store closest to me makes delicious ones....  If I don't get outta here soon I will have to change clothes 'cause it's getting hot!!!  Spring-summer is back!

Lindancer

Good afternoon, sunny, cool still windy, but not as bad as yesterday. when I had to go out.

thanks everyone for your concern for my leg. My leg is getting better, it did bleed for a long time, did see the doctor, and have a bandage leg again,  It seems to be the same leg I hurt.  Hope this does not take months to heal. June and I have the same type of legs I think. Very thin skin and no circulation. That is why I use the petal  machine. I just set in a chair and petal, then put it on the table and exercise my arms.

I know exactly where I was 70 years ago. I was in Southside Hosp. having Dennis, he was born 1min. after midnight. I kept asking the doctor to change the time so he could have been born on St. Pat. day. I was ready, but the doctor was not there.

thanks Gloria, the card was beautiful. We are also suppose to get snow to morrow night.

Shirley, I have powdered sugar on my French toast.

Phyllis, thanks for the St. Patrick's graphic

Jeanne Lee, I agree with June a contributions would be wonderful to help Joan, We look forward to your post.

Top o' the Marnin' to all........

Let's have a Beer !
When you drink beer, it makes you sleepy,
when you sleep, you don't sin.
when you don't sin, you go to heaven.
So let's all have a beer, and go to Heaven.

On March 17th., 1944, my husband to be gifted me with a diamond engagement ring. So began the Irish/Polish Alliance.

With that said, may we all have a lovely green Holiday. No rain, no snow, just blue skies and High Hopes.

I woke up about three times this morning, starting at 3 a.m. About two hours later, my body felt it was time to die. Truly..I was all tired out, so I lay back and relaxed. A few hours later, I said, "well, you are still here, so let's do something different. Lets get up and start living. I am dressed, breathing, and intend to go down for lunch today. It is a good day.

My house keeper is "off" today, so her replacement is here. I have a nice clean well made bed, and now she is in the bathroom scrubbing things down. I feel like a queen. Never, ever thought I would live to see the day someone else cleaned my bathroom, etc.

Gloria de, I am SO glad your doctor is taking care of your leg. I had the same problem, where both injuries were on the same are of the same leg.

I love the little Irish Man doing his Irish Jig, I can hear the music now....and there was a day when I did the Jig too. Thank you Phyllis.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Joy

Good afternoon.  Still thinking of Joan and hope each day brings her more strength and soon she will be back with us,

Gloria, thanks for the link to the St. Patrick Day card.  That was nice.  Really made me feel like spring is nearly here.

June, love your little Irish poem.  I never was a big beer drinking, but I do like a bottle of Rolling Rock once in a while!    I was hoping to maybe go out for corned beef and cabbage this evening, but the weather is threatening and I don't want to be out in bad weather.  I haven't talked to either of my son's to see if they would have wanted to go.  So, I will make do with something from the freezer.

It is still very cold and not much melting of the snow.  The sun has been out most of the day, but starting to cloud up and as I mentioned above, the weatherman is calling for some icky weather tonight and again tomorrow morning.

Have a good Irish evening.

Joy

Joy, A thankful Day..quiet, joyful, fun memories of past Holidays. We are Blessed...each one of us, to have a place like this to share our love and friendship, our cares and concerns.

well it is time I bid you all goodnight and sweet Dreams.
Hope to see you all tomorrow. good night.

Lloyd

Gloria

Goodness, I thought I was late getting here but no one else here this morning.
Good morning everyone, I turn on the TV and local news when I get here in the mornings and all I have heard so far is that the URI basketball team won last night. Yipee, first time since 1989. Now ask me if that is something I really wanted to know.

MARY ANN  glad you liked that JL greeting.  That was a new one this year.

HAL  another cold one here with 21°. When I pulled up the shades I saw frost on all the cars. More snow due late today into Sunday.

SHIRLEY  some people sure have good taste buds, your Dad was one of them. I could never tell the difference in real or imitation vanilla either. You really spoil your kitty cats. They eat better than some people do.

GLORIA de  I had one of those pedal things but it did not make the move here and my son threw it away. I have been thinking of getting another one. I know my legs need more exercise. I do not walk as much as I would like to.

JUNE  I never heard the Let's have a beer before. Thanks but I will pass. Like you it feels strange to see someone doing my housework. I still feel guilty sitting here and watching my CNA doing what I still feel is my job.

JOY  that card seemed more springlike to me than St. Patrick's day. The sun was bright and beautiful yesterday but the temperature was not springlike. Snow in the forecast for late tonight and tomorrow.

Amy

Good morning everyone.
I guess yesterday was a little too much for me but we sure had fun and yes Hal we did behave lol We hit Costco and filled my van along with my two dogs.
I hit the floor a running this morning, have laundry out blowing on the line and will bake some pies later, pastry is already made.
Love listening to the birds sing this morning what an orchestra they all are!!

Shirley got me on a hunt for cornbread recipes and I didn't realize there we so many different ones, even found one with hot peppers too!

Gloria, ty for the JL card and I love the classifieds, I will send that one on to friends.
Sounds like another load ready to go on the line
Enjoy your day everyone.

Hi everyone.  It was an overcast 55 degree morning but headed into the low 70's this afternoon.  We are currently having a light rain shower. I just got back from a quick trip at Aldi's and then went  to Walmart to pick up the online order that Pat placed.  However, that order wasn't ready so rescheduled it for tomorrow after church. I will take it easy the rest of the day and watch some of the NCAA College basketball games as am having another weary day.  There have been some really good games so far and some that were not competitive at all.

Hal, my appointment yesterday was fine.  Blood work in good shape and the PA felt the place on my lip was not the return of the cancer.  However, she has referred me to a dermatologist just to be sure.  It seems one appointment leads to another.

Shirley, my wife won't use imitation vanilla either. Your father had a very discerning palette.  I agree with you that it sounds like your cats are taking advantage of you and have you trained well.

June, I have never heard that about why we should drink beer.  When your husband proposed to you I was just 3 years.

I read this yesterday and thought it would bring a little humor along with what Gloria shared above:

Forest Service Comments

These are reported to be actual comments left on Forest Service registration sheets and comment cards by campers and backpackers completing their trips:

"A small deer came into my camp and stole my bag of pickles. Is there a way I can get reimbursed? Please call."

"Trails need to be wider so people can walk while holding hands."

"Trails need to be reconstructed. Please avoid building trails that go uphill."

"Too many bugs and leeches and spiders and spider webs. Please spray the wilderness to rid the area of these pests."

"Chairlifts need to be in some places so that we can get to wonderful views without having to hike to them."

"Reflectors need to be placed on trees every 50 feet so people can hike at night with flashlights."

"Need more signs to keep area pristine."

"The places where trails do not exist are not well marked."

"Too many rocks in the mountains."

Good morning, early for me, sun in and out, no wind. Suppose to have snow to night.
Hope to hear good news about Joan.

Amy, as I wrote before my husband always put pepper Jack cheese in his cornmeal.

Gloria, I have had my pedal machine a long time, but have used it more the last few months. I still see them advertised in the gift catalogs. I do both arm and leg exercises every morning. I loved

those classifieds, I laughed out loud on a few. good to do after watching the news.

Larry, I also liked the Forest Comments.

Shirley, I sent you and email, you might enjoy. Kitten on the Key board.

June glad to see you are getting around.

Gloria, I've read those classified many times and laugh out loud every time.  I got a kick out of Larry's Forest Service Comments, too.  That's like the people who build next to a pig farm then complain of the smell.

It's a drizzly day here so far.  I think we'll get into the mid 40s for temperatures.

Good Morning Everyone (just barely),
Cloudy day here.  Looks like it wants to rain, but no moisture yet.  We could stand a good rain.

Not much happening here.  I got some humming bird feeders in the sink soaking, they were getting pretty yucky.  Wife bought a new one yesterday and was going to chuck these because the were old and yucky........ ::)

Got my Garmin GPS out of the care yesterday and charged it up and attempted to up date the maps only to find that I didn't have enough memory to update the complete states, so only updated the western U.S. and will have to get a micro SD card to complete the process.  But memory is fairly inexpensive now and I will only get about 10 GB's.

Was hoping maybe some work on Joanie.  Hope she is improving.

Loved the captions, Gloria and Larry.  Shouldn't laugh at them, I can see me saying something like that.

Amy

Laundry is in off the line and strawberry pie and butter tarts in the hidey hole for your coffee/tea time.

Just talked with daughter in love and all 41 out of 42 babies are still living!! Their Dalmatian fish gave birth ,they usually had 10 -15 for the first time but she went above and beyond!!

Larry, I am going to share your Forest Service post with a retired MNR ( Ministry of Natural Resources )fellow we know..I know he will get a laugh out of it .

Help!  I need HELP!  The computer that Microsoft insisted on putting Windows 10 on is telling me today that it is "locked up", that my version is out of date.  I don't know if it is a scam or what, son that always answers these questions is off camping for the week end & I wouldn't think of calling to ask him.  He & wife took the little red head 3 year old & were so excited to have her for overnight they were almost giddy.  Of course they invited me but I thought they needed the time to chill out by themselves & just enjoy.  Anyway, this little 12" with XP is not only hard on the eyes, the keys are a tad more scrunched up so I'm having to correct a bunch of boo-boos.

Anyone know about this Windows 10 problem?  Says I can get computer completely locked up if I don't call the number & do what they say. Think my next computer will be Apple.... they don't use Windows?  I don't like being bullied!  I'll get the MS # from Google & see what they say.  Anyone else that installed 10 get this lock up?  Can't click out or anything.

Shirley, I don't know, but I think it sounds like a scam.  Maybe someone more learned in computers will have more answers.  I have Windows 10 on this computer ONLY and after I disabled the touch pad, I haven't had any problems (knock on wood).

Go to the Q and A folder to see if someone can help.

PS - I see you asked Jackwv and he is one I was going to suggest you ask.  Good move.

Mary Ann

Amy

NO Shirley don't  click  or phone it is a scam........unplug wait a bit then plug it back in..
Mary Ann gave you good advice
Hope your up and running soon

Shirley, it is definitely a scam.  Like Amy said, don't all or click on anything.  Just shut computer down until son gets back in town.

I am dragging in late today. My apologies. The old grey mare ain't what she used ta' be. Nothing new here. Sat. is usually a quiet day. There is a program at 6:30 tonight but I will be home.

I too was hoping for news on our dear Bis.

I wonder what kind of mind these people have that do the scams on our computers. Do they seek to be evil and mean ? Do they think it is a joke to upset another human being ? I just don't understand what makes some people be mean.

I read this out on Facebook about Joan:

Update on Mom (Joan Lavelle)

It was a day of rest and building strength today for Mom. When awake, she is alert and responsive.

The plan for the weekend seems to be more of the same. And hopefully she will build strength enough to get off the vent early next week.

Thanks to all for the cards (she really loved them!), prayers and well wishes!

Linda and I will return to Fairhope in the morning and I will return on Sunday or Monday.

Taking a deep breath & must get out to mail bills (I do it the old fashioned way, with checks) & get that card in the mail to Joan.  I've had it ready to mail for a couple days but was hoping for good news first.

Good news about the computer... #2 son stopped by to cut down my pampas grass... he deals with computers for a large company.  He immediately recognized this as a scam & was shocked to see how many Google sites came up about Windows 10 Build shutting down.  Since my mouse was locked up & I couldn't get it to do anything, he knew how to work with keys to get the job done.  A restart & it works fine (for now).  Thank you all for advice!  I come running in here for all my problems.    Beware!

I am worn to a nub.... son got all the grass cut own & I tied it in bundles & some in a bag & in the dumpster.  My trash hauler only picks up 4 extra bundles so have to pack it up this time of year.  Will have the lawn guys come next week & they will haul off the leaves that blew in.  I had not planned this job for today.  Did get the chicken breasts baked & delivered & a nice call from the couple I took to.  I had not fixed this dish for a long time & was really hungry for it..... fixed enough extra to have myself one meal.  Used all the herbs &  spices for pheasant under glass.... & cut up a clove of garlic into the stick of melted Blue Bonnet .... family pack of chicken breasts & half a dozen peeled potatoes to roast with the meat.... all the herbs & spices on the chicken & light layer of flour... potatoes over all & the house smells delicious.  Got it delivered across town before noon.

I've already had my Saturday night bath so will not stay up late tonight!  Must get to the mailbox & store before it gets too dark.  My car turns into a pumpkin at dark.... or pile of rubble since I don't see as well after dark (think it is all in my head.........)  Sweet dreams to all and God Bless.

Thank you Sandy for the update about Joan.  I feel better sending the card.

It Must Be Spring

© May Fenn  î Š

Hush, Can you hear it?
The rustling in the grass,
Bringing you the welcome news
Winter's day is past.
Soft, Can you feel it?
The warm caressing breeze,
Telling you the sticky buds
Are bursting on the trees.
Look, Can you see them?
The primrose in the lane,
Now you must believe it -
Spring is here again.
