Good Sunday morning, Everyfriend.  There's poached eggs on toast to go with your coffee or tea.  Have a blessed Sunday.

Thanks to Phyllis for her lovely “Music is the Wine” graphic creation which we are using this week.

Chuckles

Purchase

A woman went to the counter to purchase a drinking bowl for her dog. The clerk asked, "Would you like it inscribed 'For The Dog'?"

"It doesn't really matter," she replied. "My husband doesn't drink water and the dog can't read."

Food For Thought

Guarding Against False Doctrine
(By Rocky Henriques)

We have to constantly be on guard against those things which are not right. Fire ants have virtually taken over the southern United States since they were accidentally transported here a few decades ago. They are amazingly adaptable, fiercely aggressive, and multiply seemingly overnight. Worst of all, sprays seem to have little or no effect on them. Scientists finally figured out a way to wipe out an entire colony. Pellets of the ants' favorite food are tainted with a tasteless, odorless poison, and sprinkled around the mound. The worker ants immediately begin gathering up the food and take it down into the heart of the colony, where they unwittingly feed the poisoned pellets to their queen, slowly killing her! When the queen dies, no more workers are produced, so in a couple of weeks the entire colony starves to death.

That is how it is with false doctrine. Those who lack exposure to God's Word to show them what is right lack the ability to discern properly between true and false doctrine, between what is right and wrong. They import it into the heart of the church, thinking it is harmless and even good. In the end, people starve to death spiritually, without even realizing what is happening to them.

A Peanuts cartoon once pictured Lucy and Linus looking out the window at a steady downpour of rain. “Boy,” said Lucy, “look at it rain. What if it floods the whole world?” Linus replied confidently, “It will never do that. In the ninth chapter of Genesis, God promised Noah that would never happen again, and the sign of the promise is the rainbow.” With a relieved smile, Lucy said, “You’ve taken a great load off my mind.” The comic strip closed with Linus saying “Sound theology has a way of doing that!”

Thought of the Day

Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger.

Good morning,  Joan, Jane and Junee.

It still is dark out.  Supposed to be some rain today, but still warm.   Not hot, just warm.

I had a day yesterday just like June's.  Was very lazy and didn't do much at all.  I, too, didn't even get out of my PJ'S.  I hate days like that, but they seem to be happening more often.  Just don't have a lot going on, so I figure, why get dressed. ?? LOL

Hope today will be a more productive one.

Joan, the poached eggs will be a special treat this morning.  I am not usually very successful making a good poached egg.  So, I will enjoy your offerings this morning.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Joy

I agree, Junee.... a lovely painting! Thank you Phyllis.

Joan, may I have my poached egg in a "mug" with crackers & lots of butter?  I haven't had that in at least 40 or 50 years.  My daughter still fixes it for herself, loved it as a child, as did I. My husband thought it was grosse.

Tom & Tiger in, already had their egg & now need to take care of Lauren & Callie and moi.  I eat a couple pieces of toast, most of the time a hard egg on one slice & grape jam on the other, plus a cup of coffee so I can take my weekly aspirin.  Was not in the mood to sleep last night so only just over 3 hours, FitBit tells me.  These day naps are not a good thing in my world.

Have a Super Sunday, everyone, I've got to find something cooler to wear to church.  The cool temp and dense fog did NOT show up as predicted so clothes I put out are not what is needed.  I am not happy with 90° and feels like 99° for the next few days.  (Whine-whine)

Oops, the "J's" are showing up~  Good morning Joy & Jane.  I made up for you yesterday, Joy, do you mind taking credit for my chopping down the mess in the berm so Joan doesn't give me to many demerits...please?  Jane, you get so many demerits I can't pass mine on to you.  I need to get a new egg poacher, want one easier to clean, used to have the aluminum one that made 3 or 4 at a time.... then we discovered aluminum was bad for us.   I'm going to have to rush.... see y'all later.  Shirley

Good morning everyone.

Muggy here this morning after the all day rain we had yesterday. We do need the rain so I am not complaining. Wells will get filled up before freeze up!

A day of rest here today. I tickled the hall walls with a cloth yesterday....(does that count as work ?)getting it ready to paint when I get the urge.

Shirley, you brought back memories to me, I aslo ate my egg in a mug with butter on it...yum.that was so good, must try that again.

Lloyd, I bet you will be happy to be done that line job . Hope your feeling much better now.

Jane good morning...

Phyliss another great and truthful graphic, thank you.

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Junee.

Janie--Good morning.

Good morning Joy.  It was 80° and very humid at my house when I first got up, so today is going to be "more of the same".  I have always liked poached eggs.

Shirley--Good morning.  Of course, you can have your poached egg just the way you like it.

Good morning, Lloyd.  For your sake, I hope your area has warm weather so you can finish that water line before company arrives.

Amy--Good morning.  I'd say tickling the walls with a cloth is w--- :).

A humid and foggy morning here, too.  Not too thick but hanging in the tops of the trees.

Thank you for the nice words about the graphic.  I find music very soothing sometimes and turn to it often.

I'm not a poached egg person.  I prefer my eggs "fractured" and on a piece of buttered toast.  And, like Joan said to Shirley, we can have our eggs any way we like them.  :yum:

Going to be quiet here today.  That's ok with me.  The neighborhood is almost deserted.  Most of the neighbors are enjoying time away from home now that the weather has cooled a little bit.

Hi everyone on this beautiful Sunday morning.  The sun is out and it is still fairly cool here in the low 70's.  I am ready for Sunday School and Church this morning and then will stop to get something to bring home for our lunch as the kitchen is basically closed for business on Sunday's.

Last evening I fixed us Tilapia and steamed cabbage and green beans.  The fish and green beans turned out well but a few of the cabbage leaves had a bit of a singe to them but still tasted fine.  I had not made steamed cabbage before.  I stayed awake late last evening watching the Georgia/ Missouri football game.  It was an exciting game and Georgia got the win by scoring with only about 1 minute to go and then Missouri fumbled and that was the game.

I am rushed for time this morning so will try to hold my comments to only a few.

Sandy, I had one of the antenna's but never really used it so have no advise on the subject.   I do know that many folks, especially in cities, have great success with them.

Hal, I hadn't heard about the fertilizer plant sinkhole in Florida.  I guess the news in our area is more interested in the increase in gas prices due to the break in the line in Alabama.

Jenny, glad your new medication isn't expensive.  That sure sounds like a cute little dog.

Shirley, I am like Cas was in feeling a poached egg is very gross.  The only way I like eggs is scrambled or fixed in something.

Phyllis, I have always loved music and listen to it daily.  I do not like rap music but want something with a tune and words I can understand.  I dislike music that has to have so much noise in the background.  I love piano or organ music.

Good morning/afternoon Vanilla-Jackie.  I usually get dressed as soon as I get out of bed.  I shower at night before I go to bed.  That's another "whatever floats your boat".

Larry--Good morning.  I don't do much cooking these days, but do have to do a minimal amount since there's nobody else to do it.  On Sunday I eat leftovers.

Guess the sinkhole didn't bother Joanie since she didn't comment.  Got to rush, church time approaches and I haven't put my "go to meeting" clothes on.

Church is over for me.  After church I made a quick trip to the Farmer's market and found the nicest old lady and gentleman (both with a heavy accent of some kind) with a small stand.  I bought some tomatoes and a head of cabbage from them.  He told me that they had just picked all of this yesterday.  And he showed me how to tell if a tomato has just been picked.

Then I did my "hunting and gathering" at WM and came home and put everything away.  I'll have to deal with it (package the meat smaller, cook a few items, shred the cabbage) sometime today.  And that's my exciting day so far.  God be with you, ALL!

Good morning, Callie.

halkel--Good morning.  I am far away from the sink hole.

Janie--Sure wish there was a farm stand near me.  And how do you tell if a tomato has been freshly picked?

Phyll, I really, really like this weeks graphic. Very clever, very artistic, and very true.

Good Morning All. Another new day, another new start. I plan to go down for Church today, and on to Sunday dinner later, then home to do nothing but enjoy the day. There will be football on the big screen this afternoon, but since I have no idea what it is all about I will stay home and entertain myself. I intend to visit our library after lunch and gather up some new books.  I never get bored.

Good morning everyone, back to icky weather today and tomorrow. Might have severe thunder storms late today or over night. Summer has to get it's last hurrah here. Humidity sneaked in during the night. Of course it woke me, turned the fan on and closed the window but did not help so came in here and turned on the AC.  Finally got back to sleep after 4 AM.

LARRY for the little TV I watch paying for the cable is a waste of money. I mostly watch local channels.

JANE  years ago when we all had antennas this are had good reception. We are between Providence and Boston so got the channels from both places. No mountains here and this building is on a hill. Wonder if that wound make a difference.

JUNE  my daughter had a lot of patience with all those kids. She never yelled and when she said not to do something she would explain way. Never -don't do that because I said so.

SHIRLEY  I know no one around here who cut their cable  so no one to ask.

JOAN  my family all had Cox cable but they now have Verizon. This building is wired for Cox and would not let Verizon in. I know I would change if I could. Every year Cox raises their cost. My daughter will have to get the Dish in Arizona. They have tho have all their own power. Self sufficient, like roughing it the modern way. Solar panels, windmill, wells and every thing.

SHIRLEY  I just have basic cable but am stuck with some sports channels, language channels, all news channels, home shopping channels and others I would not waste my time on yet I am paying for them. No Hallmark, AMC, Turner (TNT?) A&E or several others I used to like.

GLORIA de  hope you made it to that cookout yesterday.

PATRICIA  talk show or reality shows and especially the Kardashians are a waste of time.

PHYLLIS another beautiful graphic this morning. Thanks.

JOAN  a poached egg on toast will be a nice change this morning. Good Food for Thought. Another keeper. Thanks you for all today's goodies.

JUNEE  hello.

JANE  good morning to you, too.

JOY  good morning.

LLOYD  good morning.

AMY  you need and deserve a day of rest.

CALLIE

HAL  hurry or you will be late for church.

JANE  would be interested to know how to tell if a tomato was just picked. All I know is I love picking one and eating it ASAP.

Phyllis, I am with you on the egg bit......I always ask for the yolk broken, flatten, stomp on it and throw it on the ceiling...then I will eat it. Surprising how many restaurants don't know who to cook a hard/fractured egg. I have had it come to the table with yolk still not cooked in the middle or the egg is like shoe leather!!!

Gloria--The noon local weather just said we "might" get rain this evening.  In this area Brighthouse/Roadrunner is the only service available.

Amy--Hmmm--another who likes a "fractured egg".  I like the yolk slightly runny.

Good morning from the same old, same old Interior. My sinuses are better,  still sleeping more, and still taking medicine. I can always tell if it is raining because I will wake up in the night with arthritic pain and those bathroom runs are more like carefully shuffling.

Farah is entranced with the winter flocks of small birds. She doesn't "chitter," as most cats do, but the tip of her tail will slash up and then down, as she carefully watches. She is not getting heavier, but longer and now stays out when I have company.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Okay, Phyll, I'm dying laughing at your "fractured" egg..... Cas used to say that I vulcanized mine.  I fry in a little skillet with tad of real butter, make sure the yolk is fractured & flat before I flip.  Folds into a single slice of toast & even better with a little handful of finely shredded cheese melted before folding.   I love scrambled eggs, hard boiled, egg sandwiches....& poached.... as long as that yolk & white is firm as can be.  McDonalds does a fine job of doing my eggs well done, at least the ones I visit more than once~

My 3 hours + a few minutes is not enough sleep so am thinking of a nap before lunch but notice it is lunch time already.  Where did the morning go???

Good afternoon alittle on the warmer side then it has been. Humidity is 97.  Like Gloria we are suppose to have showers to night and to morrow.

I am so tired right now.  Yesterday we did go across the street f or a cook out.  Genny and I came home after 9.  She thought it best she spend the night, as she had and hour drive home, and she had a few drinks.  So this morning we went out for breakfast, which I enjoyed, have not done that in over a year. Went to Friendlies and it was packed.

She just left, so I am going out in the Florida room, put my feet up and read the paper.  Maybe a book later.

Loved the graphic Phyllis.  thanks

Joan, just say HI, and thanks for all you do to keep us going.

My little farmer told me that a "just picked" tomato is still slightly yellow where it was pulled off the vine.  Having grown up on "just picked" tomatoes from the back yard or the farm garden at my grandparents, I never had to know that fact but I'm glad I do now.  And the last thing he said to me was "See you next week!"

Phyllis, I loved the graphic today, too.

And I found some things to take to heart in your inspirational story today, Joanie.

Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!

Hi Radioman-will tune in.

Angelface--Glad to hear your sinus problem is better.  Must be Farrah doesn't like company.

Shirley--The only way McDonalds serves eggs around here is scrambled, and I do NOT like scrambled eggs.  It's about time for me to try to nap, too.

Linedancer--It was nice you and your friend could go across the street for a cookout.  Wise of her to stay overnight since she had some alcohol.

Janie--Thanks for the info on the just picked tomatoes.  Glad some of what I posted today was meaningful to you.

Well,  good afternoon ...
From the cooler but slightly over cast
rocky coast of Maine....

I just couldn't resist.    With all this talk
about  poached eggs,   I made me two with
butter,  salt,  garlic  and nutritional yeast.

Boy were there ever Good!  I shall do that
more often.   Lot's of goodness,  followed up
by Yogurt and a banana,  which also has
lots of goodness.

All is well here.
It is cloudy here and tomorrow we
are expecting some showers...
Pretty typical Fall weather.
Very comfortable!

Have a good day,

Good afternoon on another hot Sunday............Went to church this morning and as always took a sweater with me. The A/C always seems to be on the back of my neck.

Had to come in and comment on the eggs.......My husband wants his "fractured" like Phyllis'. I flip it once then smoosh it so the yolk breaks and cooks firm. I like the yolk sightly soft. Amy - You are so right about restaurants.  ???  If I ask for medium well done, it's runny. Shirley - You skipped Amy's step of throwing it at the ceiling!  :) We like shredded cheddar cheese on scrambled eggs.

Have any of you ever used egg cups? When my brother and I were young kids we used to help out two elderly unmarried sisters with chores (just because!). They would ask us to come in for breakfast and always had soft boiled eggs (in the shell) in porcelain egg cups. And always cooked prunes!  :)

Hope the day goes well for all of you.

We did but my grandparents on the farm didn't.  We also had outhouses at Girl Scout camp.  My grandmother's was a two-seater.  The ones at camp were 3 seaters except up by the lodge they had a dual....2 seater on two sides.  These days, I'd never make it!  Someone dropped a flashlight down the hole once and it burned for 2 days and 2 nights.

Bis, we had an excellent Minister at Church this morning. We usually do have various Ministers of various denominations. It is interesting to see the styles of preaching. We shook hands after the service. I told him he had given me renewed hope and trust. He replied, "You just made my day."

Came home and took a short nap, but woke in time to go down for lunch..baked ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, fresh cut up fruit and melon and boston cream pie. I also ordered a tall glass of tomato juice and coffee. I brought home half my lunch and all my dessert which I will have for supper, or tomorrow, depending on what I have a taste for. My life of leisure is very pleasing indeed. My day is free so I will do two or three walk arounds, read, nap, visit here, true freedom.

Gloria, explaining the "why" to a student that is corrected is certainly the mark of a great teacher. I can see why your daughters  pupils love her and will miss her greatly.

Amy, I like your style of egg ! I do add just a bit of water to the pan, it seems to keep the egg more tender. I could never eat a 'runny' egg…ick !!!!!

Patricia, I too am very cautious if I need a bathroom trip during the night. Feet shuffle, knees bent, hands on cart. Awake I make myself stand tall behind that cart, and try to remember to use heel to toe walking.

Gloria de, I am so glad you have a close friend nearby..an hours drive is near, but she is available if you should need her. We all need someone.

What is nutritional yeast and how does it come packaged? I love the taste of yeast. I used to buy a small cake of soft yeast to just nibble on like cheese. I just wonder if it is something my body needs. I also like beer and I think that is made with yeast. Sandy, I lived with "out-houses" till I was a Jr. in highschool. We rented one house that had a three hol,er . The third hole was made for a small child and had a built in step stool for the child to use to get seated.

I think we have covered it all today. From Church, to runny vs. hard eggs, to out houses. We are pretty broad minded here in our Soda Shoppe.

Good stories here!   ;)

We are so happy that our youngest son is going to be alright - he fell from a tall ladder earlier today and cut his knee but our concern was over hitting his head.  He was in-and-out for awhile so paramedics took him to the hospital for evaluation.  He is able to go home and will call us later.  Our children work together on handling these things and keeping us out of it until they have taken care of needful things.  We were told to stay put and that was not easy - but Don has a cold and could not enter the hospital anyway.  So - that is my good news.

My sis-in-law used to have me make my own eggs for breakfast at her home - I must have been a difficult visitor for her.  :)

In the foothills around the University, enterprising landowners built small cabins or A-frames  or groups of cabins and A-frames and will rent them out to students cheaply. They generally include a group two-holer outhouse and all will have some sort of propane heat or similar heater. Most will have a general lower layer and a sleeping loft.

A few years ago, a small group petitioned the borough council to get rid of the outhouses. This came up to a vote but was soundly defeated by both students, landlords, and their supporters.

We never had an outhouse at home, you generally didn't see them in town back then, but we had one two-holer with curtained windows and decorated walls close by our cabin up the Salcha river.

As to eggs, we generally had them sunny side up with sides of riced potato pancakes,  bacon, biscuits, and milk gravy. Both mom and dad were masters at omelet making. To this day I like to fill an omelet with vegetables or rice, or tomatoes, mushrooms or onions. We usually added just a bit of milk. I could probably make any of those dishes in my sleep, I've had them so often!

Dad worked in a canning plant just before WWII, primarily corn. After that, we always grew it ourselves or had frozen or fresh. I think he saw a few disgusting practices at that plant as he never purchased or ate canned goods after that experience!

Carol, I am so glad your son was not more seriously injured. Going to the hospital was the wise thing to do. Every time there is a blow to the head it must require a good check up.

I recall our chickens were allowed to roam the yard and garden. They ate the bugs where ever they found them and never roamed off our land. My brother raised some small chickens called Bantams, and they were his pets, but our egg layers were a normal size. I don't recall really liking eggs when I was young. My breakfast was usually corn flakes. I'm still not a heavy breakfast eater.

Only one thing to attend on my docket for tomorrow. A movie titled "Risen". Early afternoon, so I can be lazy all morning.

I went down to the Library and got three more books to read. I'm still busy on another one, but I like to keep a group on hand. And it was a nice stroll around the grounds at the same time. I will do one more walk today, either outside or in the hallways. Gotta' keep this blood flowing to the legs, and it's good for balance at the same time.

We've had a busy day today - Sunday school, church, visit by Tom H's niece, naps, going to Tom's brothers for supper.  We started at 8:45 am and just got home about 9 pm.  I'm ready for another nap, but I'll wait until going to bed.

I wanted to tell you I pulled a June Drabek - I fell at the entrance to a restaurant last night.  We were leaving and I think I did not step on the doorsill firmly and down I went.  I could just imagine people outside watching this little old woman falling.  Fortunately, nothing happened other than a small scape on my elbow and two fingernails broke.  This morning I had no more aches and pains than  usual - no new ones, which surprised me.  I fell on my right side and I could have broken an arm or a hip.  I doubt I would have broken a leg because I didn't fall right.  Anyway, I was able to get up and I am none the worse for wear.  I am OK!

The visit by Tom's (Jim's granddaughter) was nice because she stayed for lunch.  At Bob's (Tom's brother) I saw two more of Jim's granddaughters.  One will be married in May 2017 and I heard I will be invited.  I had thought this would be my last trip down - and it may well be - but we will play it by ear.  Jim's grandkids are neat kids - 25 y/0 quads and the older sister, age 28.

Mary Ann, I am so grateful that you did not get seriously hurt or broken by your fall. We really do have to be alert all the time when we walk, and more especially when we are in unfamiliar territory. Do take extra care my dear friend.

Good night Janie, may you have a nice peaceful night. I am going to pass on the walk I planned to take this evening. I ate a good supper, and now my eyes want to close, so it will be an early to bed and book.

I wish you all well dear friends. Sleep peacefully, and raise happily in the morning. Hugs, Love and Prayers. June

A late evening HELLO.

Busy day.....early outing to watch grandson win his lacrosse game.  Got home just in time to watch the Broncos beat the Colts.  Mark and Megan were here and made some yummy snacks for us to enjoy.  All in all it was a wonderful Sunday.

Oh my, I like exactly the opposite of a fractured egg!  Love poached eggs but have never been too successful at making them.  A friend just recently showed me how to make a fried egg that is as close to a poached egg as one could be.  Very simple.....start to fry egg, then add a bit of water for steam, add lid and way lay ho brown edges or fried top!  As you say, JOAN, what ever floats your boat!

No one commented why they had not posted Saturday night, so just assume the missing were busy and were all OK.

CAROL, sorry to read that your son fell off a ladder today...so glad that he was not not hurt too much worse than he was and sure glad that he went to the er to be checked out.  Hope Don feels much better very soon.

YES, JACKIE, when we are on duty in Austin I bet that puppy will be full of .... and vinegar!  He got to meet his human mama today.... Cathy was in Colorado and did not fly home until this afternoon....I saw a couple of pictures of her and Oliver and he looked like he was at ease and very happy.  Tomorrow Brian will take him to a vet to have him checked over to make sure he is healthy.  Good morning, when you join us.

LARRY, I know I can not have a dog at this time as we do not want to be tied down......however, watching this little cutie has made me sure wishing I had one.

MARYANN, so good to see your post but sorry to read about your fall.  Sounds like you were very lucky to not hurt yourself.  Enjoy the rest of your visit.

It is late, so I must say goodnight and sleep tight.

Talking of eggs...whatever happened to eggcups?.....When I was a child my parents often soft boiled an egg, a runny yolk inside, place it in an eggcup, crack the top of the shell....I would then be given a slice of buttered bread cut into fingers, we called these " soldiers " we would then dip these " soldiers " into our cracked runny yolk...then spoon out the rest....

JENNY...
...never know whether to say a good morning or a goodnight to you?....time in UK is now 7.15am, been up over an hour, guess by now you are tucked up in sleepland....

My missing Saturday post..... Jenny, in my life, I rarely have anything interesting to say....

CHUCKLES

Seven Wonders of the World
A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.

The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."

The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the 'Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love."

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

Just a gentle reminder - that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.

Food For Thought

The Boy and the Puppy
--Author Unknown

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

"I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle, "Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up...."I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that, the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It rained all night and is supposed to continue until mid day.  It's the lovely kind that just comes down softly and soaks everything.  We were out in it twice.  I have a sick doggie.  She hates going out in the rain and she went willingly at 2:30 and again at 4:46 and then she also threw up.  Mickie had this last week and now Annie has it.  Ah the joys of being a pet parent!

I hope you all have a lovely day.

I am off to help a friend this morning then home to do down a bucket of apples that friends brought over last night. Not much else on the agenda today.

Carol, hope your son is feeling no ill effects from the fall.

Mary Ann, glad you didn't hurt yourself in your fall!! My friend was telling me that she fell in the house but luckily landed on about 20 quilts.

Jane, I hope your furbaby is  better this morning.

Joan, thank you for breakfast

Well not every day I decide to take a shower, but this morning when I was in the shower, our six weekly window cleaner was doing our windows, what bad timing.... No wonder the dogs were barking, cant a woman get a peaceful shower anymore....thank heavens I already had the blind pulled down outside the cubicle...just as R was calling...." the window cleaner is here, have you got the blinds and curtains drawn?..."

This is the window I open after my shower to let the steam out, someone would have been in for a real shock...

Good morning, Joan and all the early morning friends.

Joan, I will pass on the cereal this morning, but will help myself to a big bowl of fruit.  I am not a big cereal person.  In the winter, or when my stomach isn't feeling too good, I do like some of the flavored cream of wheat.

I have heard the story about the little crippled boy wanting the little puppy that has a hard time walking, just like he does.  Always brings a good feeling.

I am up early to be able to take one of my meds, but I think I will head back to bed for a little nap. Even tho, it is still dark  out, according to the weather gal, it is supposed to be a kind of rainy day.  We are still having temperatures near 80, which makes it kind of humid.

Hope all the friends will have a good Monday.

Good morning, Amy.  How nice of you to help a friend.  Will you be making applesauce?  If so, would you put some in the "hidey hole"?

Vanilla-Jackie--Good morning.  Lucky you had already drawn the blind while you were showering when "R" told you the window washers were there.

Good morning, Joy.  I don't eat cereal either, because I can't have milk.  Enjoy your nap.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well Janie, wish we were getting some of your rain.  Seems like all of ours is just spotty and rains hard and then stops.  Not griping, will take what we are given and pleased to have that.

Carol, happy no broken bones or serious injuries.  I no longer attempted to climb a ladder.

Nothing much on tap here.  Wife has an appointment for her knee and another shot, last one I think.  They do help her.

Joanie, hope your day is going well.

Jackie, well did he get the windows washed?  You couldn't afford a washer over here.  They charge an arm and leg to wash windows.  About one hundred dollars for a normal size house.  They both inside and outside.  But not mine, I can afford it.

HALKEL....
...this one man window cleaner comes on site, does a lot of our parkhomes but....he is the only window cleaner I know ( and my father was one for years since he came out of the army ) who leaves the windows wet, doesn't leather dry them off....I spoke to him six weeks after his first attempt, as R had already paid him the first time, before I got to check over his work...On our outside windows, and our parkhomes have many windows, we have a leaded diamond pattern on the outside of our glass, and I know through experience myself when I used to have to clean the inside of leaded windows of a Jewish lady's home, a job I was paid to do for her, these leaded strips make a lot of black mess, not easy to clean around...Anyway, window cleaner tried to fob me off with this is the modern day of window cleaning and with a " I bet your father used a bucket and leather in his day..." well yes he did, but he done a fine job...and he worked on large buildings, and stately homes, up and down ladders ...Seems these modern day window cleaners have these high tec power hoses that stretch around our homes, a quick scrub or brush over, a quick hose down, and that will be £11 thank you mam..... It is all down to speed, and how many he can get done in a certain time, I suspect....

Halkel, it is only the outsides what they do, the insides are down to us...

Going back to yesterday's posts about eggs, I love poached eggs and I have a small saucepan to fix it in.  I put it on buttered toast then smash the yolk so the bread can absorb some of it.

As for my fall, of course there was no one around such as June had, but I could tell all was well.  I fell very slowly and gently.  Someone did try to help me up, but I was not in a good position and when I could get on my knees, then I could be helped up.  The restaurant had someone there to call for an ambulance if needed.  I think I have some additional aches and/or pains this morning, but I have enough otherwise so I really am not sure if they're new or not.

Anyway, we will be going to Milroy IN today for lunch.  Milroy is one of those towns that if you blink while going through, you will miss it.

Hi everyone.  It is another nice morning here in South Carolina.  As I write this morning they are unloading the sheet rock for the inside of the house so the walls will soon begin to take on shapes and the outside siding is being installed.  They are coming right along with the house across the street and I have the perfect view from my office window.

Today will be fairly business.  The morning chores are done but still need to attend to the washing this morning and afternoon.  I will attend my noon Monday meeting and then may make a quick stop at COSTCO for an item or two.  Then Pat has her Monday appointment with the chiropractor at 4 pm and that 6:30 this evening we have the first men's meeting at church for the fall.  We always have a nice steak dinner and if any steaks are left over they will sell them for $5 or $6 dollars so will try to get one to bring home for Pat.

I am beginning to see some indications that Pat is improving, although it seems very slowly.  Her eyes are much, much better now that she is putting lubricant rather than gel in her eyes are night.  She also tapes them shut and wears a sleep mask to protect them during the night.  She did a little walking yesterday in the house without the aid of her walker or cane.

Gloria, we are very close to the local television stations with two of the network stations being owned by one company (the CBS and NBC channels).  I am sure a local antenna would work fine here and my son has decided to do away with his Dish TV when his contract is up.  I am planning on keeping Dish for the foreseeable future.  Of course, there are many channels we never watch, including all the pay per view channels.  I agree with you on the talk and reality shows.

Amy, I would prefer my egg staying on the ceiling and then I wouldn't have to eat it!  :)  Obviously I am not an egg lover although don't mind scrambled eggs.  I am becoming quite proficient in fixing scrambled eggs for Pat about every other morning.  I fix them with real butter, bacon crumbles, cut up yellow or green pepper, cut up green onions and two types of cheese.  This is served with a bowl of5 or 6 very large strawberries and she doesn't go hungry.  I have something else for my breakfast.

deAngel, sure hope you were able to get rested up yesterday.

Don, I did listen to a good part of your fine program yesterday.  Keep up the good work as you have many fans.

Patricia, glad your sinuses are better.  That can be such a miserable feeling.

Sandy, having grown up on a farm with  a small hand pump in the kitchen, I am well acquainted with an outhouse.  We didn't have indoor plumbing nor did I have a room of my own until I was 19 years old.  Those hot summer days and cold winter days and nights at the outhouse were memorable if not pleasant.  I agree "those were the days" and I wouldn't want to revert to them.

June, what a nice Sunday meal you had.

Jenny, your football team had success and the two teams I follow, the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons also had wins yesterday.  On Saturday all the college teams I am following also won so it was a good weekend football wise.

Hal, glad to see that your wife is benefiting from the shots in her knee.  Pat has had those in her back and also in her knee.

Jackie, we are fortunate in that our housekeeper does our windows.  Pat did pay her extra when she had finished as she would do one room during each visit so it took awhile.

Our son who fell off the ladder is going to stay home with his computer and phone - we will check on him if any needs.  In an instant, your life can change and we are breathing a sigh of relief.

I slept in the basement bedroom - it is a walk-out with a nice view of the open fence where all the wildlife prance around.  Coyotes have a den there every year - squirrels, raccoons, deer, plus a ton of rabbits.  Don has a cold and with the cough, etc. I slept really well last night and late too.

Larry:  It is so good to learn that Pat is getting better.  Did she get the steak?

Good morning, halkel.  My house keepers take care of washing the windows.

Vanilla-Jackie--I had special design lead windows on my house in Arkansas and they were difficult to wash.

Good morning, Mary Ann.  I like my poached egg similar to yours but don't butter the toast.  I am glad you didn't get seriously hurt when you fell.  Enjoy your lunch in Milroy.

Larry--Good morning.  I'm happy to hear that Pat is slowly improving.  You sure fix nice meals for Pat.

Good morning, Carol.  Good for your son to stay home.  My husband fell off a tall ladder in Arkansas and really got hurt.  He was home from work for about a month--the ONLY work he ever missed.  Hopefully you won't catch Don's cold.

Good morning everyone. Still waiting for the rain to start but it is a gloomy morning. Son brought me a peck of app;es Saturday, Yesterday spent the afternoon cutting some up for apple sauce. Tood me hours to do it, had to keep taking a break and sit down.  Started the slow cooker before I went to bed and now the apples are all cooked. When it cools my CNA will be here and I will let her put it through the food mill. Don't think I could stand at the sink long enough to do it.

JOAN  like you I like a still softer yolk, great for dipping toast into but the white has to be cooked.

JANE  when I get tomatoes from a farm I always look for those with a bit of yellow or green near the stem end, to me that means they are not too ripe and will be soft the next day.

BEVERLY  I had a SIL who always used those eggcups for boiled eggs.  She had to teach me how to crack the egg that way.   I made a mess the first time.

JUNE  at times my daughter will be in a store and someone will come up to her and say hello and how much she helped her or him. Of course by then they were adults so she did not rocognize some of them until they told her their name. On boy that always was a problem she had to scold and explain things to almost every day. Well by then he had graduated college and was in law enforcement. He told her that her being strict but not mean had a lot to do with how he turned out. One of the volunteers at the school had a son who was in his last year in college and at times when his Mom waas at the school he would stop to pick her up and say hello, my daughter started calling him shorty. She did send me a foto on the 3 of them together and he must have been close to 7' tall.

OUTHOUSES  I never saw one till I first moved to this town. We rented a little house that had been the first schoolhouse in town. You guessed it, an outhouse 2 seater and I hated it. I made sure I had it scrubbed clean before I would go out there. Glad I never had to go out there in the middle of the night.

CAROL  thank God your son was not hurt bad. My younger son worked as a roofer for a long time before he was married. One day one of his coworkers came to our house and told us my son fell from a roof. I panicked. He told me they rushed him to the hospital and he was OK just some bruises. They were taking him back to their shop to get his car and he drove home. I was happy when he told me years later that he was done working on roofs now is doing reconstruction.

PATRICIA  with the coming of frozen food I never bought can stuff as much as I could. Now about the only cans I buy are tomatoes, tomato past or sauce and evaporated milk. Always like to keep a couple of small cans on hand.

MARY ANN  glad you were not hurt in that fall. That is the one thing I am so careful to avoid.

JENNY  seems like I never seem to get here in the evenings anymore. By that time I am in no mood to sit here for another minute.

JOAN  hot cereal and blueberries, please. Great chuckles this morning. I like that girl's reply. Without that 7 we would really not have much of a life. The Boy and the Puppy brought tears to my eyes. The boy and the puppy were God's way of bringing each other what was needed. Thank you for all today's goodies.

JANE  just started raining here, not the downpours that were predicted. They were supposed to start paining the parking lines in the parking lot today but looks like they will be delayed.

AMY  I will have some applesauce ready for the freezer by this afternoon.

JACKIE  wish they had people wash the outside of the windows here.

HAL  the windows here are the kind that tip in sow we can wash the outside.  I have my CNA tip them in when I want to wash them. Cannot get the top windows so am lucky when I can do the lower ones.

LARRY  I Googled yesterday for the inside antennas. One I thought was better than others, under $50 and will pull in stations in 60 miles. That would mean both Providence and Boston. Saw some under $10 that might pill stations in at 24 miles. The one I liked will sit on the TV table and it rotates. Some attach like a pad to the back of the TV. Very thin. Some have to be put on walls or windows, that is out in this building. Only things to show in windows here are the AC's and curtains. Even plants in windows are frowned on.

CAROL....
....I feel your relief that son didn't do more damage to himself...as you say, a fall is a fall, that could have easily have turned out worse.....
MARY ANN....
.....the same for you, the only thing that can hurt is ones pride when we take a fall, when out in a pubic place...Oh and dont those bruises come out the very next day?...
GLORIA....
....our window cleaner is optional, not compulsory, we can even skip the every six weeks if we choose to.... Told by manager at AGM meeting that we can choose our own outside cleaner if we are not happy with this one, but being rather new to this area, we wouldn't know who else to go with or which ones to avoid....Would you believe that in all the 13 years we lived at our last address, I could not get R to book our local street window cleaner even once....

Gloria--Good for you getting the applesauce started for the CNA to finish.  I know you were glad when your son quit the roofing business.  Ray's family had a cabin in the Adirondacks with an outhouse, and I really disliked it.

Vanilla-Jackie--So I guess at the other house "R" washed the windows.

Good Morning all.....going on 10 a.m. here and I am still in my nightgown. Bed is made, exercises, prayers, massage all taken care of, messages read, and I want to go back to sleep.  On my second cup of coffee, just finished half a sweet roll. Woke up at 3 a.m. did a bit of reading and thinking deep thoughts, and fell back to sleep till 7 a.m. I have no plans for the day, except Balance and Mobility at mid afternoon, and probably lunch at noon. This note is a meandering mess, so I'll close and come back later.

I've ground 3 pounds of chicken breasts to use in the homemade dog food, cooked it and I have a dish of chicken to cook for supper and future meals.  I'll put that on to cook later today.

Then I shredded the cabbage I bought from my new farmer friend.  I made a bowl of cole slaw (ate some of it for lunch) and I froze a bag to be used in veggie soup later.

Then I took a nap.  Annie is still not feeling well and since she lost her breakfast, I made her some rice and chicken for lunch.  That seems to be staying down.  We'll see.

I got a piece of meat for the veggie soup and I'm going to put it in the crock pot over night.  When my daughter stopped by yesterday, she asked me what I was doing.  I told her "cooking".  She thinks it's wonderful that I do so much cooking and than I eat better than most of her clients.  I didn't tell her that it's my way of saving money.  If I cook, I can get several meals out of what it would cost to eat out once.  I'm just thrifty...or am I cheap?

Please Everyone, stop with the falling!  I'm afraid you will get hurt!  I'm glad you haven't done any serious damage but BE CAREFUL!

I hope you are all having a lovely day!

June--I was awakened at 3 a.m. by what I thought was the doorbell.  I am expecting a package from Amazon today.  I got out of bed, mad that they'd deliver at that hour.  It must have been a dream because there was no package there.

Jane, I hope the chicken and rice stay down for Annie. Yes you are thrifty and SMART ,you at least know what your eating. It is nice to go out once in a while but I prefer to have a home cooked meal...even if it is only a fractured egg :)

Joan, apples are all peeled and on to cook, won't be long till a bowl of it is in the hidey hole along with some fresh cream and biscuits too!

Chicken and rice didn't work either.  She just tossed it but she had the foresight to go out in the yard to do it.  She's a good little doggie even when she's sick.

Gloria:  I am so scared of heights, would never get me on a roof.  But, I do love to fly and really love take-offs.  Go figure.  Glad your son changed - roofing is a difficult job for sure.  I hope you get a good antenna for your t.v.  It does make all the difference.

JaneS.  Sorry about your doggie being sick.  Not easy for you when they can't "talk" to you.

Vanilla:  It sounds like you have settled in very nicely to your new home.  Is the season changing for you - it is still summer temps here.

Janie and Amy-I'll be checking the "hidey hole".  Thanks!

Vanilla-Jackie--Must be he isn't using the right formula.:)

Janie--What a good doggie to go out in the yard to upchuck.

Carol--I, too, like to fly, but that's the only height that doesn't scare me.

Day is passing much too quickly for me.....

Got a couple of loads of laundry done....cut apples for nearly 2 1/2 hours and got those in the freezer....shared a big bag with our neighbor that watches our home for us when we are away.  She was so excited to see them all cut and cleaned.

JACKIE, you are 7 hours AHEAD of me here in Colorado.  I have never had any one clean my windows, but I am getting close to considering  it....also to have my home cleaned.  Never could even think about it before, but we are just not able to keep it the way I want it to be, so might just have to give in.

JOAN, our minds can sure play some tricks on us.  When my boys were in high school I would hear the vehicle they were driving crunch in the rocks on the side of the driveway where they parked and then would wait for them to come in......they didn't, so I would go look and of course the car was not there!  Hopefully Fed Ex would never deliver at 3 AM, and if they did they would not ring the door bell! 😘

Think we are going to go,out for Mexican Food.....we had Salmon yesterday and I am tired for doing all the apples.....Mark just arrived to do,a bit more packing.....he is more than happy to go to Mex Food.... His time is getting short with us so it will be nice to just go and chat over a meal.  He went to work at 4:30 this morning so I think it will be a early to bed evening for him.

JANE, I am sorry to read that Annie continues to not feel well.  Poor baby.  Good gorilla to go outside and throw up!  One less mess to clean up for you.

CAROL, good idea your son chose a day at home to rest up.  Sure has been hot the last few days, hasn't it.  It will be cooling down a bit too much though now.  CRAZY weather....

LARRY, so good to read that you see that Pat is starting to see signs of feeling stronger.  Please give her my best. YES, very happy my Broncos won....and happy your teams did as well.

MARYANN, one always feels the muscle strains after a fall.....sure glad that is all you feel as it could have been so much worse.

I must go get the last clothes out of the dryer.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, EVERYFRIEND.

Jenny

Jenny, I watched some, but not all, of the Broncos/Colts game yesterday and I looked for you in the crowd shots, but didn't see you.  I am not a football fan, but I must watch sports when down here.  We were at Tom's brother's and you should hear the brother's wife scream when something either goes wrong or right.  My hearing aid vibrated!  I was happy to have both Michigan college teams won.

I'm going to quit while  I'm ahead - this post has moved all over the place.

Janie dear heart,  You are NOT cheap. You are sensibly frugal, and you do extremely well in your shopping and spending. I wish I were still capable of doing as you do. I enjoyed making my own food, and left overs were always a bonus, not a burden. I am still frugal. I am entitled to three meals a day here, but I choose to usually have just one. I get free cereal and fruit that is alway available to us to help ourselves, I take a jar down and they fill it with milk, there is a bin filled with various breads and bagels and English muffins.  So I have my breakfasts at home at my leisure…..I am a slow starter in the morning. They serve such hearty portions of meals, I always take half my lunch home to have for supper. lI have a little kitchenette, with small refrigerator-freezer, a toaster oven and built in microwave, and sink, plus cupboards. I also have an excellent program on the computer with one of our major markets, where I shop for what I want and it is delivered to my door. I am content.

Bis, were you able to go back to sleep after checking for your package ? I didn't think I could go back, but I did and was thankful. Still had a good nap this afternoon. I got my days mixed up, of course….what else is new for me ??? The exercise program is tomorrow. Today was a movie. I didn't like it, so came home to read and napped instead. In coming home, one of our nurses came up, gave me a huge hug and said she missed seeing me. I said, "Thank you, i needed that hug".So she gave me another, which I returned. What a wonderful place this is to live.

Jane, I am so sorry Annie could not retain the chicken and rice. It brought back memories of my dear Petey dog. I was so thrilled when he was able to eat a bit of white chicken from my hand. Days long gone by now, but he was like a child to me.

I'm off to WM to buy some Pepto-bismal.  The only thing I take myself for upset stomach is my grandmother's old remedy of a teaspoon of baking soda in a half glass of warm water.  She used to say, "It'll either settle it or bring up what shouldn't be there in the first place."  I think, if I remember rightly, I must have had a lot of stuff that shouldn't have been there in the first place because it usually brought it up.

Interesting that the article you sent said not to give them water.  My vet said don't take the water away because she needs it so she doesn't become dehydrated.  I have a tentative apt at the vet for tomorrow afternoon so if she isn't better by then, off we go.

Thanks for the kind words, June.  I'd rather be frugal than cheap.  And I think most of what we cook for ourselves is better than eating out.  I think you do very well with what you have there and you take good care of yourself.  I hope when I reach my 90s I'll be as active as you and the other 90 something ladies in this place.

I didn't have to go to the store.  I don't drive at night unless it's an emergency so I went across the street to my neighbor and asked if they had pepto bismal.  They didn't but when it came out that I wanted it for Annie, they shared a "doggie pepto" with us.  That was the easy part.  Getting it into her was the hard part.  Have you ever had a dog clamp her mouth shut?  You can't even wedge a pin between their teeth.  I did get one teaspoonful down her throat and we'll try again before we go to bed.

Just a quick-in to let you know I'm still m the Planet!  I've been so tremendously busy the past weeks with family stuff that I hardly had time to sit down and think about staying in touch.  Just caught up with recent posts and good to know Friends are still!

I've been dealing with some of my own health issues as well as keeping in touch with Mohamed and his family RE
their health issues, preparation for the beginning of the new University semester, which begins soon for Mohamed and his enjoyment of several visits with one of his best friends from the USA who has been visiting family in Egypt.  The Friend is enroute back to the USA and Mohamed has just turned in his student papers to have them printed for his students.

My recent news involves an appointment with a local Food Dr., who examined me today and told me that the toenails on my left foot are at the point where they need to be removed, since they have basically rotted.  I'd never heard of this before and was absolutely stunned.  Guess all those years of wearing high heels and rushing on and off the commuter trains in Washington DC and around the Word on different assignments for many yeas has really caught up with me.  Sure never thought this would be the Dr.'s decision.  And I'm NOT sure I want to move ahead with this either.  I've never known anyone who had this kind of foot challenge.  But my ankle is badly swollen so may have to give this VERY serious thought!

Fellow was here today to mow my lawn and explain that he and his assistant an would be coming here soon to treat the yard for the Season.  They spread some type of chemical on the grass and let it work into the yard and don't mow for quite some time as the grass begins to prepare for the Fall.  Sure hope it works!

Hope all are having a pleasant week.  Stay safe, happy and God Bless!

Hi Molly, what a nice surprise to see you posting.  I hope you have gotten the same as my Grandson, he has a similar problem where his toenails are deteriorating.  His doctor told him it was a form of rheumatism.  As a matter of fact he is being medically retired from the Air Force because of his condition.

We got word tonight that an old acquaintance died today.  He and his wife moved some years back to North central Texas and understand he had some kind of fall in the kitchen and died in hospital.  He had a bad heart condition.

Janie, hope the pup holds the Pepto down and gets to feeling better.  Always feel sorry for animals when they are sick.  Never know for sure what their problem is.

Nite, nite, God Bless and Sweetdreams.

Molly, always good to see a post from you. Sorry about the toe nails. My son had one removed that badly ingrown, and he said it wasn't that painful. Hope you get it cared for without too much trouble.

I suddenly got tired this afternoon so had a good nap. I am ready for some more sleeping so I will say Goodnight, God Bless, prayers, love and hugs. June

So good to see your post, MOLLY.  I am sorry to read about your toe condition.  I have never heard of this before, but it certainly sounds like there are signs that this removal is something that is needed.  I have heard of toenail removal due to it being ingrown, and was told it is not that painful.  In your case, if it is dead you will probably not even feel the pain....I hope this would be the case for you.  Think about you daily in my prayers for you and Mohamed.

HAL, my condolences to you in the loss of your friend.

JANE, I certainly hope Annie is feeling much better after her dose of doggie Pepto Bismal.  Sure happy you did not have to dive to get the Pepto!

MARYANN, I was not AT the Bronco / Colts Game....we watched from home.  Thank you for even thinking about me.

JACKIE IT SHOULD BE about 6:15 AM at your house, so good morning!  Enjoy your day.

Pleasant dreams to EVERYFRIEND,

MOLLY...
...Oh Molly, I too have never heard of having all of ones toenails removed....I would definitely get a second opinion about whether that procedure is indeed necessary, before you go ahead and say yes....Like Jenny, I have heard of a toenail removal due to it being overgrown, but never ALL toenails being removed...

HALKEL...
...Sorry to hear of the news, of an old time friends sudden passing....

LARRY HANNA...

Food For Thought

Who's Controlling Your Life
(By Alan Smith)

I heard recently about a company that sometimes puts on what they call "Lunch and Learn" seminars during the employees' lunchtime, dealing with a variety of physical and mental health issues. If the seminar lasts beyond the normal lunch hours, the employees are supposed to get managerial approval to attend. So, recently, this flier came around:

"LUNCH AND LEARN SEMINAR:

WHO'S CONTROLLING YOUR LIFE?

(Get your manager's permission before attending)"

Looks like that question's been answered!

As Christians, we know what the answer is supposed to be for us. But it sometimes helps to remind us by asking the question again: "Who's controlling my life?" Jesus is often referred to in the New Testament as "the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". It seems to me that we are sometimes anxious to claim Jesus as our "Savior", but somewhat reluctant to make him our "Lord". As our Savior, he offers us eternal life. As our Lord, he demands full control of our lives. And that can be a scary thing because we want to maintain some control ourselves. May we strive for the day when we can say with the apostle Paul:

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Gal. 2:20)

Who's controlling your life?

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Well we made it through the night.  I was very tired last night and my bedroom is farther from the door for doggies to go out than any room in the house.  So I opened up the sofa bed and we slept about 5 feet from the door.  We went to sleep early so we got up once about midnight at Mickie's insistence.  We all used the facilities and then we slept until about 5 this morning.  No barfies and no runs.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH AMY FOR THE RECOMMENDATION.

Annie took her treat this morning.  She's been turning them down so we'll see about breakfast.  I'm going to try putting the doggie pepto in her food.

I have to go to work this morning so the real test will be while I'm gone.

Have a good day Everyfriend.

I see all the "regulars" are up and taking care of things.  Amy what is a RA doctor?
Nothing much to take care of here, and it feels nice.  I should balance the check book before it gets too far out of kilter.  I seldom if ever write checks but the wife does.  I pay everything online.

Well coffee is ready so I am pouring, who wants a cup.

Good morning everyone, so tired of these damp days, need some sunshine. Got the applesauce done and r containers in the freezer and still have some left out to enjoy now. Then I had her peel apples and I sliced them ready to make an apple crisp tomorrow. The slices are in bags in the fridge. The topping is easy to make so she can put it in the oven and take it out. Something I cannot do anymore. Just heard on TV that by Friday the high will be in the 60's. I will like that.

CAROL  like you I am afraid of heights but I don;t mind looking out from a window seat in a plane. When I went to the Grand Canyon I would not go near the edge to look down.

JOAN  with all the apples I have had over the years I have never made fritters and I do like them. Thank you for all today's goodies.

Going to go lay on the couch with the TV on.

Hi everyone.  We have a blue sky this morning with a few puffy clouds.  Today will be a light day with only a 3:30 appointment for Pat at the business who services the CPAP machines.  She has switched her account over to the company where I have my CPAP account as it is in downtown North Augusta and much closer to us.  She was never really satisfied with the other company as they seemed to be so disorganized.  She needs a new head gear and hopefully one much less complicated than the one she now has.

Yesterday turned out to be a very busy day.  I did attend my noon meeting and then stopped at COSTCO so it was around 2 pm before I got back home.  I rested for an hour and it was time to take Pat for her chiropractic appointment.  Then came home and finished up the washing and putting things away.  Shortly it was time to go to the church for the Men's Meeting.  I did not feel the program was one of the better ones but they all can't be great.  We did have a good meal and I was able to bring a steak home for Pat's late supper, which she enjoyed and still has half of it left for another meal as they are big steaks.  I went to bed around 9 pm and slept soundly until 7:30 this morning.

Carol, Pat did get the steak and the steaks were very good last evening.  They are always cooked on a big outside grill that the church has.

Joan, I get a break tonight on fixing a meal as we have left overs in the refrigerator which we will have with some fresh vegetables.  I don't think I will have to cook anything new.

Gloria, your applesauce sounds wonderful.  My mother used to make it from Jonathan apples from a tree we had on the farm.

Jackie, does living near the sea require more often window washing?

JaneS, I am sure you are a very good cook and that you are not thrifty or cheap but just wise as to what is best for you.

Jenny, I hope you will get someone to clean your house for you as know you have better ways of occupying your time, such as being with your family and the adorable grand kids. We have never regretted the money we spend on the housekeeper every two weeks.  I am getting hungry for Mexican food.  Pat is watching closely her diet and that type of food isn't on it.

June, I had an aunt who always threw the left overs away.  My Mother just couldn't understand such wastefulness as she saved the leftovers.  Sometimes the food is better the second time around such as dishes with tomatoes in them or where the seasoning has more time to penetrate.

Molly, nice to see you posting as it has been awhile.  My podiatrist spoke of removing one of my big toenails as it has curved so much that I couldn't cut the nail.  However, since I have started getting an occasional pedicure to trim my nails I think I will be able to avoid the removal at least for awhile.  It sounds like there are many medical issues on your plate and on Mohamed's plate as well.  I hope his new university term goes well.

Good morning, halkel.  I'm not Amy, but I think an RA is a rheumatologist.  I'll have another cup of coffee.

Joy--Good morning.  I love apple fritters and the bakery in Publix makes great big ones.

Good morning, Gloria.  I'll try to send some sunshine your way.  You sure have made the most of those apples--sauce, apple crisp and some to eat as is.  IMO it's easier to buy fritters than to mess with making them.

Good morning, Larry. I am sure you're glad to have leftovers and not have to cook today.

Good morning.  I have been busy getting the laundry started, the house "redd" up, and talking to a brick mason who is coming to redo the brick steps to my front and side porches.  They have sunk down to the point that I can hardly climb up them onto the porch and I'm afraid someone is going to stumble on them and fall.

Amy, I'm so sorry that your DH has that painful condition to deal with.  I had a friend many years ago that was diagnosed with RA.  It isn't easy.  Gentle hugs for both of you.

Household laundry is in the washer.  I wish I had thought to get some apples at the grocery store last week, Gloria.  I'm hungering for some applesauce  and now that I have managed to fix my apple peeler it will not be a chore to get them ready for cooking.  Apples are definitely on the list for the next shopping day.

I made a big pot of Lentil Soup and we had bowls of it for dinner last night.  It was so good.  I briefly thought about making some corn bread to go with it but by dinner time I was too tired to do that.  As for leftovers,  I tried cooking for a smaller family but just couldn't seem to adapt so I cook a full size recipe of anything and we enjoy leftovers sometimes 2 or 3 times afterwards.  We like leftovers here and I agree....they often taste better after they have blended together for awhile.

Apples and soup......it must be Fall.  Yay!

Phyllis--Fixing two sets of steps sounds like a fairly costly job.  I just don't know how to cook for one, so have many leftovers.  Usually things are better the second or third day, IMO.  It's about time I made a full crockpot of soup.

Good morning.

JOAN, thank you for the yummy Applefritter this morning.  That is one goodie I would have a hard time passing up.  My very favorite one is from Voo Do Donuts.  Thank goodness that donut place is no where near my house as I might not be able to control myself. It is not even in a great area of downtown, and you have to stand in a long, long line.

It is packing the suitcase day here...not something I am fond of doing!  As much as I am anxious to see my boys, I could easily just stay home.  It is so beautiful here right now.  I bet it will be nice in Chicago too.

We have been talking to Brian and seeing pictures of Oliver this morning.  He sure is a cutie pie. I can not wait to see him.

JACKIE, I hope you are happy as can be with your new "DO"!  I always feels so good after the visit to my hairdresser.  I must say though, I sure was not happy with my haircut that I got last week.  I thought I got sheared the last time....this time I really and truly did.  Thank goodness my hair grows quickly.

Update on my new Meds is that it has caused me no ill side effect at all, but it is NOT working!  Blood sugar numbers are just like I am not taking anything!  Gurrr.

I wish you all a wonderful day.

Off to packa, packa, pack!

Good Morning dear friends. We are having clouds and sun today and I love that. Beautiful blue skies with white puffy clouds.

I feel very slow today, so have no plans till it is time to go to exercises at 2:30 p.m. I should do a load of laundry.....or two...but the body rebels at w--k. So, I will relax and enjoy being a sluggard. I must replenish my pill boxes too. I have the ones for each day of the week, with Morning, noon, evening and night to fill. I do not use the evening section. When and if the day comes that my mind will not cooperate with this and other chores, I can have it done for me. They even deliver the dosages to my door, but when I resort to that I will be put into "Assisted Living" status and my rent will go up, naturally. But it is nice to know it is available and spares my kids from helping me. And if I should deteriorate drastically they have a separate building for that type of care, plus another building for alzheimer patients. We had this arrangement in Hemet also.

Time to have a light breakfast, or it will be lunch time before I know it.

"You should hear the brother's wife scream when something either goes wrong or right.  My hearing aid vibrated!"   ..Mary Ann, as Sophia would say, "Picture it"... I did and was rolling on the floor laughing. You are such a good sport!

Jackie, I remember when we lived on a busy street in High Wycombe my next door neighbor explained to me that we needed to have the window cleaners every week.  My mother was a cleaning fiend but even she didn't do the outside windows EVERY week.   I conformed~

June's fall, Carol's son's fall, Mary Ann's fall, Jackie's fall (and peeping Tom).... my youngest son "bit the floor" all the time because his mind was miles away from where his feet were traveling. Don't blame it on age..... he was only 2 and it lasted until his teens.  We called him "Grace".  Happy that everyone came through the tumbles without broken bones.

Molly, I would go for a 2nd opinion before letting anyone make a permanent change to my body.  That sounds painful (to say the least).  My son that took the early retirement from Boeing (rather than move) was asked to teach a couple engineering classes at the university and was moaning about grading papers when I talked to him last night.  Retirement wasn't working, everyone had jobs for him to do (since he wasn't working) and nobody paid but his mother.  I insist.   He has not given me any trouble since he was here when the AC man came & charged me over $300 for labor (part was under warranty) for a few minutes work.  I told him I wouldn't call him if he didn't let me pay what I'd be paying someone else!  He had no idea what they charge these days!  He enjoys being with his students, shocked that some don't bother coming to class, just  going to college because parents foot the bill.

Gloria, we are back in hot mode and this is one grouchy old lady.  I have several piles of mulberry trees I cut out of the berm (amazing how fast they grow) & other weeds.  Have more to cut but have to tie up what is waiting on the ground & that's about all the trash haulers will pick up for one week.  I went to the farm store & bought the stuff to paint on the stubs of the trees that will take to the roots & they won't grow back, I do hate yard work but was shocked at the estimate the yard guys gave me to do that job, & it wasn't nearly as bad as is right now!

Hal, I called my sister Sunday to see if we could all meet in KC (our 90 year old brother & wife live there) but they had just gotten a call/message that her husband's youngest brother had a major stroke and there was no hope of him surviving.  He had been Best Man and I was Maid of Honor when my sister married his brother about 68 years ago so all during our teenage years we jokingly said that "we were almost kin".   My day went from planning a fun trip with the family to a very sad one.  He was another of few remaining friends, that knew history of our growing up, so sad to know I won't ever "run into him" again when I go back home.  I am running out of people to ask, "do you remember when........"  Probably most of us in here are in the same boat.  At least we can remember those good ole days of out houses, Warm Morning stoves and such, right?  My sympathy for the loss of your friend.

Larry, you amaze me with your cooking skills and menu.... most of all your willingness to take on the jobs.  I do worry that Pat isn't getting the PT to keep her muscles strong (I know, I have a thing about keeping our muscles strong)....  Glad the treatments have helped, my sister goes for "maintenance" treatment once a month, says it really helps.  I don't know if Medicare or their other insurance covers at all.

Time to get something done, do hate this hot weather.  It doesn't cool in the evening so may wait for fall.   So much to think about, never knew Pepto Bismo was good for dogs, wonder it it would help Tommy's motion sickness every time we head out.  I am not convinced it's not all in his head, he is terrified of everything so traveling is the unknown.

Amy, my mother-in-law made a king size quilt for my husband because she understood quilts never being long enough (she was also a tall person).  We have queen size beds in all the bedrooms so the extra large is perfect.... I love quilts instead of blankets and need all cotten as any synthetic fabric holds my body heat in & I roast.  Love reading about all your quilting, that is not one of my talents, for sure!  Sorry about your husbands health problems, so many different issues to deal with.

Jenny, sorry your new meds aren't helping.... maybe puppy hugs will make you feel better?  Are the trees changing yet?  I'm thinking about just moseying out, not staying since campgrounds will be closed (I'd rather stay in a Walmart parking lot overnight than a commercial campground). Must be harvest time so could bring home fresh veggies & fruit.  IF it turns cool in the next week.

Good grief!  I had no idea how long this had become..... a whole week's worth of babbling~  Shirley

SHIRLEY...
...Well your " book " has surely taken over mine...... ;D .... I cant wait for the next chapter....Sure it will be a toss up, which one of the two of us, gets our book published first....

JENNY...
...I took the same two hairstyle pictures in as last time, when I told him I wanted a haircut something in between the two similar styles...This morning he basically done the same but I knew when I was paying at the desk that something kindof looked not the same, just couldn't put my finger on it till on the way home in the car....my hair at the front was trailing over my eyes in a centre parting...whereas my last haircut I asked to cut the front in a diagonal fringe ( bangs ) so it doesn't get blown into my eyes if out in the wind, as that is when I get dizzy....my fault really, not his... So when I got home, out came the scissors, job done...I have booked my next haircut appointment for the week leading up to my MS Centres booked Christmas dinner...as he said, they are already taking Christmas bookings...
.....................................................

Re, falls, my legs now often go like jelly....and are hard to control, they control me, not me in control of them....I have often thought that if I lose my balance and go down in the centre of our slopey back garden, I told R, I would have to slide my backside, bump it along the grass, using my hands and arms till I reach the metal handrail, there would be no way I would be able to get up myself...

Tisie, you know they say that one of the worst things that can happen is to outlive all your friends.  And it seems all the husbands of friends are dying off.  I told my wife that she now belongs to the merry widows club.  And that is no joke.  Time takes its toll.

I want you all to know that I NEVER eat leftovers!  I wouldn't eat them if you offered them to me on a silver platter.  However, I eat plenty of "PLANNED OVERS".  And boy are they ever tasty.  When I have "planned overs' in the fridge, I can't wait for meal time to come!  I enjoy cooking and eating a meal when you first make it is great but discovering a dish in the freezer with an individual meat loaf, a baked potato (not microwaved) and some mysterious vegetable is a definite plus in this house.

PLANNED OVERS MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING AND MEALS WORTH HAVING!

Jenny.  Safe travels and enjoy your time away.  Sorry the new  meds aren't working.

June--You sure do have the gamut of services available there.

Shirley--Sorry about the death in the family.

Vanilla-Jackie--Hairdressers seem to do what THEY want not what you ask them to do.

Janie--I like the use of the words "PLANNED OVERS".  I am going to adopt that.

Good morning from the Interior. I really slept in this morning. My bones are achy in this fall weather and I have a sore throat from sinus drainage, but I am up and at em as my dad always used to say!

Farrah scared a visitor yesterday. We were chatting about me joining her committee when Farrah tossed her mouse up past her on the couch and jumped towards my visitor. She jumped sideways out of the way while Farrah swung up and past her, grabbed the mouse on the couch back and still growling, headed off again. She looked at me and said, "My word!" I had to explain that Farrah was just playing, intent on her mouse but I don't know if she believed me!

People who are not animal people do not understand why they don't spend the day lying quietly in the corner. Rather like trying to explain two-year-olds to the childless.

The day went well and thank you for wishing us a good day.
Hal, RA rheumatoid arthritis .nasty  is what I call it. and my hubby also has osteoarthritis . The Dr. gave him a shot of cortisone in one shoulder today, so hope that helps for a while.

Shirley, I too like big quilts to snuggle under. Tomorrow I should be getting two back from the longarm and I just have to put the bidding on them and I will sit and hand sew them on the back. I really enjoy doing that at night while watching tv.

Jane, that made my day when I read that is feeling better!!! We stopped at friends and brought back a big box and a bag of apples off their tree.......but I am not doing them tonight....tomorrow is another day.

I love left/planned overs, taste nicer the next day or the day after!

Joan, she actually was jumping to the left of the woman, but I can see why she, being unused to animals as she has commented, would mistake the intent of a cat seemingly heading right past her. I am just so glad she is no longer spending her days hiding and flinching from the world.

I, being single, have plenty of leftovers as well as a freezer full of planned meals in one and two cup baggies. Since I am allergic to most canned, convenience, microwavable, and fast food, this is important. Anyone who eats this way or as Janie and others so inclined do are so much healthier and I believe happier with a sense of quiet accomplishment.

The two Toms and I met at Merrillville IN and I got home about 4 pm.  It is good to be home, but I had a very good and busy time.  Our cat was glad to see me, but he isn't a cuddly cat so doesn't show emotions.  I understand he was very vocal while I was gone - because I was gone.

I am tired and I'll go to bed a bit early.  There was a lot of traffic on I-65 and I-94 also much construction, but even so, traffic went ahead smoothly.

Shirley, I'm glad I made you laugh.

CHUCKLES

Deposit a Check

My wife and I have several accounts at a bank where I went to deposit a sizable check.

When I entered, I noticed that streamers and balloons filled the lobby. I didn't stop to see what the celebration was about.

At the counter, the teller said a hold would be placed on my check because there wasn't enough money in my account to cover it. I argued that with all my accounts combined, where were more than enough funds.

The teller went to speak with the manager. She returned, with a sour face, and curtly informed me she would go ahead and credit the check to my account. As I left, I asked her, "By the way, why is the bank decorated?"

Under her breath she said, "It's customer appreciation day."

Food For Thought

Body Slam

By Keith Mannes

Scripture Reading: Genesis 39:1-20
Then she told him this story. . . .
Genesis 39:17

As our new church began to take shape, Dick (a salty ex-navy guy) and Ron (a businessman) were appointed as elders of our small congregation. And every Monday our men’s group met at Ron’s house.

You’re probably thinking, “Yea! Look at Ron! He’s making ¬giant steps in following Christ! So now life is great, right?”
Well, sort of. Because there was a woman at Ron’s work who was using the office photocopier to make pictures of herself, and she was leaving them on Ron’s desk. Ron was sorely tempted sometimes to accept her offer of sin. Also, around the same time, some kids in Ron’s neighborhood made some false accusations about Ron, and the neighbors believed the lies and hassled Ron a lot.
In some ways like Joseph, Ron was getting slammed. Joseph lived with integrity, but he got body-slammed by lies. Was it Satan? Was it God? Why did Joseph have to suffer that way? (In Genesis 40 Joseph also gets slammed again.)

This is how it often goes with sanctification. When it seems that your spiritual life is improving, you can’t help expecting that God will bless and reward you. But instead things go wrong. So it was with Ron.

But Ron did not quit walking with God. Though he was ¬angry and hurt, he kept on. This is what a sanctified Christian must do: Trust God, stay true, and keep on.

Lord, the path I walk is often steep and rough. Please walk with me and help me. In Jesus, Amen.

Good rainy morning here.  Well, I did ask for rain so I'm not going to complain but I think we've had more than enough for awhile.  Storm "Julia" has outworn her welcome.

Cardiologist/Echocardiogram today.  I wonder who else is keeping the medical providers in business besides me?   ::)  <sigh>

Other than that appointment I have nothing else going on.

Joan, hiring the brick mason to rebuild the steps to front and side porches is costly but probably won't cost as much as would a law suit or hospital bill if someone falls on them and injures themselves.  Some things just have to be done, don't they?

Good morning, Phyllis.  About supper time last night it thundered and lightning for about half an hour and then rained for five minutes.  Not enough to even wet the pavement.  Yes, when we own a home we have to keep things repaired.  Right now it's your steps and for me it's the garbage disposal.  It just QUIT.  I help keep the medical providers in business.  This morning it's the lab and next week a doctor visit.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I hit the deck running this morning.  I forgot that I had to make dog food this morning so that was my first order of business.  Then I but a beef roast in the crock pot to have some for supper and the rest for the freezer for the veggie soup.

Phyllis, if the vet counts, I'm keeping the dr. busy.  I took Annie in yesterday and she is still on the bland diet and they gave her some pills.  As I said before going to bed, she is much improved but not well yet.

I have to keep moving so I can get behind my counter by 9.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hi everyone.  I got up a lot earlier this morning than usual so have most of the household chores done.  I have even replanted the Mums plant I got at Aldi's the other day into one of our two porch planters.  It is loaded with buds so am hopeful of a lot of nice flowers shortly.  I am about ready to eliminate all of my back patio planting as they have about had it with many dead stems.  The pepper plant has a couple of small peppers so may try to keep it to see if we can get anymore peppers from it.  Pat is now up but I needed to rest a few minutes after doing the above before trying to get her breakfast fixed.  Today should be a quiet day until Pat's 4 pm appointment and then dinner at the church at 5:30 and later Scott coming to the house.  Pat did get a new type pillow mask for her CPAP machine but will have to work with it to get it at the right strap placement to keep the air from leaking out around it as it did last night.

I saw yesterday in the paper that our Ryan's Steakhouse was permanently closed on Monday.  So we have one less place to eat here in our little town.  However, there are some other restaurants soon to open.

Joan, I need to stop at Publix and get a couple of the apple fritters as they are probably my favorite sweet roll, with the exception of a nice gooey cinnamon roll.

Phyllis, we had to have our brick front porch redone on the last big house we had in Norcross, Georgia.  We also found that termites had eaten up the thresh hold and some of the outside wood surrounding the front door.  It was not an inexpensive project as I recall.  Pat also has never adapted from cooking for 4 when our children were at home and so we benefit from leftovers.  I am looking forward to fixing some chili before too long, one of my favorites.

Jenny, I hope you have a wonderful trip to Chicago and get acquainted with the new puppy.

June, I have my pill boxes sitting here in my office to refill later this morning and it is not one of my favorite chores.

Shirley, unless you lives in a very dusty part of a town why would a person need to wash their windows every week.  Little ones just don't have very far to fall and are usually well padded.  Nice honor for your son to be asked teach the classes. Some young folks just don't take learning seriously and that is a shame.  Sorry about your sadness of the upcoming loss of a friend from your growing up years.  Pat has been prescribed PT by the Chiropractor and is doing the exercises that she can without pain.  She also receives some PT with each appointment.  Our health insurance pays on only 12 treatments a year and so from here on it is up to us to pay the bill.  Just thankful that we can do so and it is sure worth it if Pat can recover.  I think Pat uses only cotton fabric in her quilts.

JaneS, loved the idea of "Planned Overs".

Amy, your husband certainly has a double whammy with the arthritis.

Good morning, Joan and all the other early friends.

Looks like the sun is trying to break through.  Yesterday, it had rained early, and stopped but the sun never showed up till almost time for it to go down.

I did play cards (Hand and Foot) last night.  It is a fun game.  I am only a substitute on Tues. nights.  And, that is enough. I do play dominoes a couple times during the week, but that is in the afternoon.  My card playing partner is not real pleasant to be around.  I get along ok with her, but she is very loud and has a tendency to put down one of the other ladies.  It kind of makes me nervous, but since I do like to play the game, I just have been biting my tongue.  I just will never understand why people just can't be "kind".   So much easier than having a nasty disposition all the time.  I always feel like those kind of people must not have a very happy life.

On Sat. my oldest son has a big family/friends party.  This is like the "30 something" year they have had it.  They have a big horse farm and lots of room.  Each year it seems to get bigger and bigger.   Some of their boarders help with letting the kids have horseback rides, and there is always a couple hay rides and lots and lots of good food.

I have a doctor's apt tomorrow afternoon  and my DIL will take me to the store afterwards. I  am planning on taking sweet and sour meatballs and a corn casserole to the party.  Our local grocery store has meatballs on sale this week, so that will help.  I made the same thing last year and they go very fast.  I  cook them in chili sauce and grape jelly.  So far, they are calling for a sunny day.  I was a little worried about the storm "Julia" that Phyllis mentioned would make it's appearance up this way, but  the weather person hasn't mentioned that as a possibility.   Supposed to rain late on Sat. night and last into Sunday.  Sure hope they are right.

Need to get on with my day.  I had a note on my door that  the exterminator would be around today and  my apartment was on the list.  Since I have never had any problems, I am assuming this is just a routine thing.  As long as I have lived here, almost 9 years, I have not even seen an exterminator around.  So, I was up early and got everything straightened up.

Joan, I especially enjoyed the Egg McMuffin this morning.  That is one of my favorite McDonalds breakfast.  When I have to go for blood work early, sometimes we stop there.   Thank you for all your continuing good care of us.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Joy

Good morning everyone, Finally got here this morning. Have to keep windows closed even if it is cooler. They are repaving the parking lot. Did one half yesterday and now they are doing the other half. In plain English the air stinks and the breeze picks it up and comes into the windows. Did you ever follow a tar truck? You smell hot tar?  No going outside for a couple of days.

LARRY  I found the best tasting applesauce is from mixing a variety of apples. I used to use one kind till I started helping my son at his orchard and bringing home come rejects-marks on the skin or bruised- but the apples were still good. They would be a mix of the ones that were ready for picking. Works good for making pies, too. The ones my other son brought me from the farm I like I found some the would not have been put in the bags I filled.

JOAN  I had help with all those apples Monday. She peeled and I sliced on the mandolin. Today will make the crisp. I cannot take the 9x12 dish out of the oven and too big for my toaster oven.

PHYLLIS  I did keep some apples for eating. I had some apples I had bought when #1 son took me to the orchard in Ct. so I had a blend of 4 different kind. #2 son brought me a bag of Galas and one of Paula Reds. I am not fond of Galas but their sweetness balances the tart Paula Reds. I still like the taste of Macs best when first picked, they get soft fast. They make a tasty pie but cooked down to almost like applesauce. Mixed with a hard apples  it cannot be beat for flavor. I always said learning to cook for 1 was the hardest I ever did. I would freeze a lot of what I cooked and that was great for the nights I got home from work too tired to think of cooking.

JOAN  I wish the freezer in this fridge was as big and as good as the one I had.

JENNY  would love to get to a beauty parlor to get a good haircut. The lady who comes here for cuts or perms is fast, takes her 5 minutes to cut my hair but she does it her way and will not listen to what I want. I comb my hair back acd she cuts ie where I would have a part on the right side, never wore it that way. The right side she cuts where it is flat and the left side is puffy. If I could still use a cryer and a curling iron I could make it look better. Have a safe trip and enjoy the Windy City.

JUNE  my pill box is has 7 compartments, 1 for each day. I have a small pill box that holds what I need for the day. I empty the daily big one into that every morning. Only way I know what day it is at times.

SHIRLEY  my Mom was a clean window curtain fiend. Once a month shw would get the inside windows washed and my Dad would do the outside. Up would go clean starched curtains.

My CNA is here so that means I get busy for the next 2 hours. Will be back later.

Good Morning Everyone!

Roley, the last I saw Lloyd was going to be working on his water line.  He wanted to get it finished.  Last time he posted was on the 19th.

Janie, happy to hear Annie is better.  Hope she continues to improve.

Larry, hopefully Pat continues in her improvement.  I know she must be fed up with all the pain and treatments.

Gloria, what can you do with apples they stay in the fridge too long and start to get all wrinkly?

Joanie, I know you aren't looking forward to more blood work.  Hope the test comes back okay.  And they use a sharp needle.

Amy, as usual you seemed to have your w--k  cut out for you.  Do you ever slow down?

Got to get a fill up.

I went to bed about a half hour early and slept good, except when the cat came in to check on me.  He doesn't stay long and fortunately last night I was able to go back to sleep.  Tom said while I was gone, the cat was very vocal; he usually is not.

I probably told this long ago, but one time I was up north visiting, I went to a woman to have my hair cut.  When she was finished cutting, she parted my hair on the right side, saying all women parted it there because men parted theirs on the left.  I don't know where she got her information because I have always parted my hair on the left.  Another time I was on a trip and had my hair done; the stylist sprayed hair spray on my hair, another thing I have never done.  I had more hair at the time and it had a lot of "body".  I couldn't get a comb in my hair for a week until I got home so I could wash it.

We had a good storm this morning with heavy rain.  All has gone past (maybe heading to Amy's) but we may get more rain, no storm, this afternoon.

When out with R I mentioned blackberries, as to picking wild blackberries, so after we got back, R took Toby out for a short walk, then when he came back he passed me a small dangling plastic bag, one of the supermarket plastic bags he picks up to take with him for doggy poos, so that was what I though R was handing me...only to find out he had brought me back a present of wild blackberries, think the relief was shown on my face....I have now washed them in the colander sieve, put them in a sealed plastic container, now they are safely in the freezer....I shall make my speciality, blackberry and apple crumble....

I'm home from work and Annie had NO accidents while I was gone and she was ready for a snack.  She hasn't even been interested in "goodies" lately.  I think she's on the mend.

Since no one likes my red and there are no unique colors left to use, I'll just go on being my usual "plain Jane" with no color added.  (I like red)

My couch is also calling and I'm very tired so I think I'll go check for zzzzs.  Enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

(I'm worrying about Lloyd also)

JaneS, I like your red.  I remember I posted a message that I appreciated the bold messages.  Actually BOLD does it, but the colors are an added bonus.  I could read your black so if you prefer that, I'll accept it, but I'll repeat:  I like your red.  And I'll continue to use blue.

SHIRLEY  always enjoy your babbling.

JACKIE  one reason I have a fear of falling is knowing I would not be able to pull myself up.

HAL  your wife is NOT a Merry Widow, you are still alive, thank God.

JANE  like your Planned Overs. That is what I used to do. Could not cook for 1 so made up containers of what I cooked and froze for another time.

PATRICIA  nothing more playful that a cat at times. Those who do not like animals much will never understand. Hope you feel better soon.

AMY  got my crisp made this morning, too many apples so had 2 small ones, too. Already had one of those and boy it tasted so good.

MARY ANN  no matter where we go it is always good to get home.

JOAN  will enjoy an egg McMuffin any time of day or night. Good joke, bank tellers are not always smart. I think many of us have been Body Slammed at some point in our lives.

LARRY  if the combined an apple fritter with a gooey cinnamon roll I would think I was in heaven. One of that combination and then a lemon filled DD I would be very happy. When I make chili there is always a lot left for the freezer. Easy to make, too.

ROLEY  this is when we start worrying about Lloyd, when he posts every day and then misses a couple something happened.

HAL  with apples getting soft and not nice to eat, if you can peel them make a pie , crisp or cobbler. If you have a food mill and a slow cooker wash them, cut them and get the seeds out, no peeling. I start mine on the lowest setting before I go to bed and by morning they are cooked. I never add any water either. I do spray a little Pan on a piece of paper towel and rub it around the inside of the cooker. With a fool mill you get a smooth sauce and the peels or any stems left on stay inside the mill. The redder the apple peels you get a nice color to the sauce.

MARY ANN  like you when I was younger I parted my hair on the left but for years now I just comb it back, no part. The lady that comes here leaves much to be desired but not being able to get to a salon I am stuck.

JOAN  glad you had a good breakfast after your vampire visit. You should take more time for yourself. Every one else does.

JACKIE  I never mixed blackberries and apples together, must be tasty.

JANE  with your red font I just hi-light it to read it. Something about the red is too bright for my eyes. Pink and yellow do not show up enough.  I do like red but not reading red.

I am like Gloria in that I highlighted the red to read. It is similar to the teal I had used before others told me it was hard to see. There is black, navy and blue that others can easily read when bolded.

Vanilla-Jackie--How nice of "R" to bring you some blackberries.

Janie--GREAT that Annie had no accidents while you were working.  I already had a few ZZZs.:)  Red is fine with me.  Did some not like it?

Gloria--I find I do have to take time occasionally for myself.

Angelface--As I continued reading, I see some object to the red font color.

I am really worried about Lloyd.

June has not been here today either.

I still like red and I don't find it hard to read but every time I use it, someone comments on the "glare".  Sorry, but I don't see the glare.  If it bothers someone enough to comment, maybe it bothers others who don't comment.  I don't want to do that to anyone so I'll just be plain.  (I really don't like black.  I find it depressing!)  Actually, blue is my favorite color!  I think of blue skies, blue ocean, a lake in summer, blue eyes, blue spruce trees, my dad's 1939 dodge.....

Gloria and Hal, when I make applesauce, I throw in a handful of red hot cinnamon candies.  Not a lot but enough to make it pink and soften the tang a bit.  My family loves it that way.  So do I!

I'll put a bit of the pot roast in the hidey hole in a little while.  I'm going out and take it out of the crock pot and have supper in a few minutes.

Have a good evening Everyfriend.

Bis, I have finally arrived. Sorry I am so late.

Good Afternoon everyone. It is going on three o'clock in the afternoon, and I am just now having my second cup of coffee. I woke late, did my usual prayers and massage and exercises, got down in time to listen to a young Quaker talk to us about that particular faith. It was a wonderful meeting. He even had us sit quietly for a time in prayer, and that was very rewarding. It was a lovely experience and I am eager to have him return in October.

I had a good lunch downstairs, came home and fell asleep. An hour or so later a knock came on my door. She is doing a survey for Rowntree, from people who have fallen once or more times, and what we felt was the cause of the fall. I will fill it out and return it on Friday. I'm glad she gave me a full day, as I am too tired today. I just yearn to go back to sleep. So if you excuse me, I'll go lie back down and see what happens.

Gosh we are going to eat well with all the food in the hidey hole!! I just put some butter tarts, apple pie and some apple sauce in there . I managed to get all my baking done, darn pie dribbled over so now I have a date with my oven, but not tonight. I think if I get my applesauce put away that will be it for me. I did manage to sew a binding on so I can take it with me tomorrow and hand sew it on the back.

I too am worried about Lloyd...

Amy, I googled the butter tarts and found that they are a Canadian delicacy.  I also printed out the recipe.  I might have to try them.  Do you make them with raisins?  And have you ever tried them with anything else...like dried cranberries?

Jane, I am enjoying your pot roast!!
Not cranberries but pecans or walnuts are really good.  Sometimes when I want to stretch the batter I will put a tsp of jam in the shell  and mix the butter tart mixture with some coconut and make coconut jam tarts...  they are good too.

Okay ladies you have tempted an old man enough.  When anyone else checks the hidey hole they are going to find a big dent in it.

June, I hope you get rested so the walker can take you dancing.  Sounds like you had a good meeting with the Quaker.  I'll bet it was interesting.

I am off to bed.  Got bible study in the morning.

CHUCKLES
Sore Arm

Following a major hurricane, my husband worked long hours clearing the jumble of trees that littered our property. The longer he worked, however, the more painful it became for him to move his right arm. He ignore my pleas to see the doctor until one night he yelped, "Ow! This is getting serious."

As I turned to him in concern, he added, "Now it hurts to push buttons on the remote control!"

Food For Thought

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 6:12-20

Flee from sexual immorality.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Just as storms churn up old, submerged items from the ocean floor, temptations from a woman at work were dredging up long-buried issues for my friend Ron.
Ron was divorced, but long ago he and his wife had given themselves over to some degrading sins. Now, at work, a woman’s advances were causing Ron emotional flashbacks. Some sins bury themselves deep within you.
It’s like taking an alluring piece of cake and pouring a bunch of salt on it. Those grains are in there. It won’t help to try to wipe or wash the salt away. The cake will never be the same.
Sin spoils all kinds of good things in life. And even though Christ’s blood cleanses us and we can enjoy the forgiving grace of God here and now, some of the effects of sin are still embedded in our memory and emotions. They are “in there,” and sin can be hard to resist. It’s as if our own flesh is attacking us (Romans 7:23; Galatians 5:17). This is a very important reason why Paul tells us to “flee” from sin.
I often think that the fact that Ron resisted those temptations at work showed amazing spiritual heroism. Sanctified people do brave and heroic things sometimesâ€"things that would be impossible without God’s grace and help. It’s never easy, but the Spirit gives us strength.
Father, I live in the hope of your transforming power. Give me strength to flee from sin. Thank you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We had another good night.  I think Annie is on the mend.  She lost about 3 and half pounds while she was sick but hopefully she can gain it back now that she's eating normally and keeping it down.

Jackie, thanks for the good advice re color.  However, I don't want anyone to be bothered by something I do if I'm able to change what I'm doing.  If I had no alternative, I wouldn't change.  But I have alternatives.

I'll be back later to see what y'all are up to for the day.

Still raining here.  We have made up for our recent dry spell so it can stop now....for awhile.

The echocardiogram yesterday was actually very nice.  I had a delightful technician and we found so many common things to talk about.  We talked all through the test and then she sat down on the table with me and we talked some more.  I don't know that I have ever enjoyed a medical test as much.  I'll get the report in a couple of days.

Good luck to DH, Amy.  I hope he can be comfortable enough to make it clear through the MRI.  They are a chore to go through but they do give a lot of good information to your health providers.

Jane, you can use any color you want.  I think it makes the Soda Shoppe page look very appealing with the different colors of font.  Glad your fur baby is doing so much better.  I know you were worried about her.

Grocery day and I'll make sure I pick up some apples this time.  Apple Crisp sounds wonderful, Gloria.

So good to see you back, Lloyd, and to know that is was a sick computer and not a sick Lloyd.

I like the Thought of the Day, Joan.  I often wish that our leaders (all of them) would listen to the people occasionally.

A bowl of homemade granola is calling my name.  Make it a good day, all my friends.

Hi everyone on a cloudy morning here in South Carolina.  We had a very short rain shower yesterday afternoon but not enough to do any good.  Today is a full day as need to make a stop at the credit union as I pick up my friend for coffee.  Will then bring him home, and depending on how I am feeling (not very peppy at the moment) I may skip the Wisdom group today as need to get some medicine and other things at Walmart.  I will definitely utilize the electric cart there today.  If I feel up to going to the Wisdom Group will have to stop on the way home or go later in the afternoon.  However, Pat has her last Chiropractic appointment for the week at 4 pm so will just play things by ear today.  We enjoyed our time with Scott last evening.

I appreciate the postings but am going to beg off individual comments today except to say I am also  relieved to see your posting Lloyd and know it was not a medical problem keeping you from posting.

Good morning Vanilla-Jackie.

Still morning in my side of the country, so I will say Good Morning to you, Joan, and all the other friends.

I need to get myself moving.  I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon and then I will get to the grocery store.  My DIL, who is the Physical Therapist is off today, so she is taking me this time.  My other DIL, who usually takes me is having a big party on Sat. and she still has some things to do.  So, it worked out well that someone else was available.

My son has a big family/friends party every year.  This is about the 30th or 31st year he has had it.  It just keeps getting bigger and bigger every year.  Hoping for a nice sunny day.  Get to catch up with some friends and family that I don't get to see a lot. Always a fun day with lots of good food.

Hope everyone will have a good afternoon today.

Good morning everyone. Finally had a good night sleep, was nice and cool again.

PATRICIA  Teal is the color I use when I do a birthday greeting here but I also increase the font size.

JOAN  you spend every day here replying to every one and then spend hours a day looking for all you post every morning to start our days.  You deserve more than just a few hours away. Every time Lloyd is not here a couple of days he is in the hospital again. He does way too much and pushes himself to get every thing done.

JANE  I am one the red bothers but by highlighting it I can read it fine. Not complaining but stating what I do. Use what you like. I used blue back in SN but now just stick to black.

LLOYD  so glad you are OK and it was your internet being out.

SHIRLEY  loved your post last night. Your Be Quiet must have been heard around here because I did not hear any thing to disturb my sleep.

JACKIE  to me any summer  fruit combination is wonderful.

JOAN  for the first day of Autumn, last night was down in the upper 50's and today will be in the mid 80's. AC will be on again this afternoon. Now that is a very sore arm when it hurts to push the remote buttons. Good one. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  good luck to your hubby with the MRI.

PHYLLIS  would be great is some that abundant rain you are having would fall in drought areas instead. Lately I have come across so many different apple crisp and crumble recipes that sound good but stick to the  one I use. Yesterday added some cranberries and added coconut to the topping.

Joy--Nice that there's sometimes more than one person available to take you to the doctor.  Your son's annual party sounds like fun.  Does everyone bring a dish to pass or does he furnish all the food?

Gloria--My house is cool for sleeping, but that's because of the central a/c.  The local weatherguesser said this a.m. that weather here should cool down by Nov.

Today is Linda's 55th birthday.  How did that happen when I am only 60?:)

Gloria, you are not the only one who commented on the "red glare".  Several commented that they have to highlight to remove the glare.  I don't want to make things difficult for anyone so I'll just remain neutral.

Joanie, I keep wondering how my kids have become so close to my age and then I remember that I started celebrating "un-birthdays and deducting at some point and they are still adding.  One day, they will pass us by if we're not careful.

I was hungry for something sweet but not up to getting too fancy so I made that cake that you just stir pineapple into angel food cake mix and bake.  I have a container of cool whip in the freezer and that will take care of my craving.  I think I'm going to try Amy's cream tarts over the weekend.  I forgot to ask her if they freeze well.  Maybe she'll see this and tell me.

Annie is definitely better!  She told me it was lunch time today and she hasn't even felt like eating until last night.

I hope you all have a great rest of the day.  I'm not doing much until it's time to pick up TLH and she has an after school activity so I pick her up at 5 and we go to the library. She does love the library!

Joan, I am most fortunate that my one DIL has her own business so she can leave pretty much when she has to.  She is my oldest son's wife and they are the ones that have the party. She had some last minute things to do today, so it worked out good.

Most everyone brings something.  Sometimes it is just something small, but most of the ones who have been coming over the years will usually bring a large casserole, or crockpot full of something, or fried chicken, or salads or desserts.  My son provides pit beef and all the drinks.  They are big wine lovers, so there is always a huge amount of all kinds of wine and different kinds of beer and soda.    It can be well over 100 + people.  They have a horse farm and some of the boarders will come and help with helping the younger  kids ride.  Used to be the guys would have a softball game, but there hasn't been one of those for a while.  Now, that most of the older teens have boy/girl friends, they usually show up with them.  They really never know how many people will be coming.  Most people do not RSVP anymore. Basically, mostly the same ones just show up and know what to bring. Surprisingly, there is always a good variety of food.   And, the little ones have plenty of room to run around.  My other two sons usually take care of doing the hay rides.  Their property borders one of the state parks and there is a trail down through the park that they use for the hay rides.  It is always a nice day and most everyone looks forward to it every year.  Unfortunately, this year several families won't be there due to birthday parties and a  other commitments.  He always has it the last Sat. of Sept., so a lot of people automatically keep that date open each year.   A lot of fun.

I am fortunate that I can usually get a way to the doctor's.  Although, I get so tired of going at times. But, I know I have to keep on, keeping on. LOL  There is a county bus, but you have to go according to their time schedule and it doesn't always work out.  There have been times when I have to leave the my place 2 hours ahead of my appt. and then wait sometimes over an hour to come back.  So, I am fortunate that my DIL can take me most of the time.

I need to start getting ready.

Joy

Good Morning All…….

I am up. I was a slug-a-bed this morning. Did all the essential exercises and massage, prayers, one song, Had an early phone call from son Gary, told him I was still in bed, and he said that was O.K., I should be doing what I felt like doing. Had a nice email from Gr. daughter in McCall, Idaho, so this is turning into a great day.

And Lloyd is back !!!!! Glad you are O.K. Lloyd !

Janie, I like your red messages, that is why I was answering you in red. I found it enjoyable reading. Thanks be to God that Annie is healing.

Hal, thank you for your kind words of healing. I'm doing my best, and I'm sure my dancing days are not over.

Larry, I am sorry you are not having a very good day.I still feel you are doing to much in too many things. Why don't you just close the garage door tightly, do ONLY what is absolutely essential and spend at least three days at home, relaxing completely. Otherwise you are going to need special care yourself.

Joy, still mooring for me here is So.Ca. but I would be very embarrassed answering the door in my p.j.'s. Your son's party sound great. Enjoy it all.

Bis,   :) I pray Linda can stay youthful and vigorous for a long long time. Her work is so important. My baby Gary will be 66 years old in Dec.

Time for me to get dressed....onward and upward.

Good afternoon, on this beautiful day, gentel breeze, not to warm. I am quite tired, but a happy tired,  Mu DIL from Mass. just left to catch the Orient Ferry to New London, Conn. she was here for three enjoyable days.
Joan, yesterday was Linda's birthday (DIL) she was 60. With two other friends I took them  to JR's steak house for and enjoyable lunch. We came back to the house for cake.

Amy, I pray the MRI went better for you hubby.

so glad, Jane to read Annie is feeling so much better.  I know she will gain for wieght back fast.

Gloria, I like cranberries in anything.

Larry, just take it easy, we all worry about you. Hope Pat is feeling better.

JaneS, unless it is a light color, I think the most important thing in posting is BOLD, regardless of the color.  Blue is fine and easy on the eyes.

Tom and I just got home from lunch.  He left for a meeting and will be home late.  I brought half of my sandwich home and also sweet potato fries.  I may finish everything for my supper as long as I'll be eating alone.

Now I'm ready for a nap!

Vanilla-Jackie--I most certainly will wish Linda HB from you.  Actually I was 79 last month.

Janie--I like the idea of having "unbirthdays".  That cake is so good--must make one soon.  GREAT that Annie asked to eat.

Joy--That is some big party that your son hosts.  Sounds like there's something for all ages.

June--Your day started nicely with a call and an email from family.  Linda travels so much I don't know how she keeps track of where she should be.  This week she is in Philadelphia, New York City and St. Louis.

Linedancer--Glad you had such an enjoyable time with your DIL there.  It was nice of you to take her and her friends out for a steak dinner.

Mary Ann--I am about ready to go take a nap, too.

We are home and the MRI went great this time!
Hal, he took ear plugs and they gave him earmuffs but because they have to speak to him the ear plugs worked on their own. Now to wait and hear what  the MRI says.

We went to Costco afterwards to pick up a few things and I think half the city was there so I just picked up what I needed and left....

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

This afternoon my next door neighbor took me food shopping and while I was in the market he did another little errand for me.  I figured on about an hour out of the house would just about empty the one "portable" cartridge.  But there was no way I could manage an hour.  I got the most urgent items on my list and called it quits for this outing.  Not only was my breathing rough but my legs began to want to collapse.  Fortunately my neighbor was parked with my handicap tag, right near the front door.  He saw how worn out I was and insisted I simply get into the car and he put the groceries into the car.  And then brought them all into the house.

So it looks like I'm going to have to find a way to have someone else do most of my food shopping.   Either that or I'm going to need to do some serious kind of exercising to increase my stamina.

OK, enough griping.  The reverse side of the coin is that it's a beautiful sunny day with almost no humidity and the next week will be even better with fall-like temperatures.  Once I caught my breath I could enjoy the very early color changes along the way back an forth to the store.

Jeanne Lee:  So nice that your neighbor was there to assist you.  It isn't a bad idea for you to have someone or the grocery store itself shop for you and deliver it.  We have that service for about $7 in our area - or free if we pick up the order by driving to the back of the store. May you find what works best for you.  Hugs

I've been noticing some signs to the effect that my WM is doing shopping for pickup.  If I understand it correctly, the order is called in and someone does the shopping and when it's ready, they call the shopper and they load it into the car when they get there.  Anything perishable is kept refrigerated until the shopper is at the store.  I've filed this in the back of my mind just in case....

JEANNE LEE....
...as others have said, it was good you had your helpful neighbour with you, who was observant in noticing how worn out you were after your hour long trip......Like me now, I would never be able to get myself up and down  those supermarket isles like I once used to do, that would now be an impossibility......I am both lucky and thankful that R picks up any shopping I need when he does his twice weekly shops, other than that I have ordered from the weekly organic fruit and veg delivery box scheme, I am not tied into any weekly contracts, I can order or miss any weeks that I choose, or stop altogether....failing that, we still have one or two of the large supermarkets that home deliver to our areas, some of the other big supermarkets dont deliver to our area yet....Jeanne Lee, do you have these same choices? as it sure is a godsend for me.....Again we have a local dairy farm shop a short distance away from our parkhome site that if we run out of milk, R will drive out to get some...Of course now a car is a necessity as we are down in the valleys with no bus service for a few miles...not a very practical location...

AMY...
...I bet your hubby is now glad his MRI is all over with...now the waiting part begins....keeping my fingers crossed for a good result for him....Oh and I hope he rewarded himself when he got himself home.... I did...with a couple of cream cakes...

No way to order and have delivered except non-perishables from either Walmart or Amazon.  A couple of the large supermarkets will take an order and get it ready for pickup but those stores are more than 20 miles away - not too bad for a friend or neighbor to pick up at this time of year but over the hills and around the curves covered with ice and snow during the winter....  I think I may be able to get someone from the Office for the Aging but I just hate to have someone else choosing things for me.  Ah well, one more learning experience.   :D

Jeanne Lee--Lucky your neighbor was with you to help with the shopping, loading and unloading.  Living in an area with treacherous winters adds to the problem.  I fill my portable tank from my large tank, and it lasts 4-6 hours depending on the setting.

Carol--Our Publix grocery has order and delivery.  If you purchase at least $35 delivery is free.  Otherwise it is $10.  Delivery is guaranteed within one hour of order placement.

Janie--I wonder if all Walmarts will eventually offer that service.

Vanilla-Jackie--You're lucky that some things you can order and have delivered and the rest you want "R" will pick up for you.

I guess its now my time for bed, 11.30 pm....seems now I go to bed a lot later than I used to do..maybe thats because I doze off so many times through the day....I find I often do some Sudoku's around the midnight hours before throwing down the book, pen and reading glasses and turning off the bedside lamp...Oh and I have often dozed off still holding pen and book and still with the lamp on, it wouldn't be the first...only to find a load of scribble over the page, as my hand drops still clutching the pen...

I will say goodnight and leave you all to party along without me....yes I know, " party " in our dreams...

Gloria de, I am so glad you have had a good time with your DIL She sounds like a very loving girl..like both of mine are. You amaze me at all you are capable of doing.  Keep it up girl !

Bis, Your Linda is so fortunate to have a husband that does not resent all her traveling. He respects her intelligence for sure. I had planned to just pass up all my obligations for this day, but as the time drew near for choir practice, I chased myself downstairs, and then went on to balance and exercise afterwards. Had a light lunch at home, and will have some left over defrosting for supper. Our choir master is such a delightful young man and he deals so kindly with all of us Sr. people.

Amy, I am so happy that your DH was able to finish out his testing today. I have never had one of those tests, but I did have a body scan at one time. This big round machine traveled slowly down my body..even grazed my nose in passing over. I don't remember what the test showed, or why it was even ordered. I would have been more educated if I had a computer at the time.

Jeanne Lee, I am thanking God that you have such a kind neighbor to care about your needs. So many people now cannot be bothered or shun any responsible tasks. As I understand your location, there are not as many places you can turn to for  assistance as in a big city or more metropolitan area, but I am sure there are some neighbors that would be happy to take on a paid responsibility of shopping and delivery to your home. I do hope so.

Time to finish up heating my supper. They were having some spareribs and sour kraut down stairs, and I was tempted, but the potatoes were sweet potatoes, and that turned me off completely. I always boiled red skin potatoes with that dinner.

Jeanne Lee - I was pretty sure you can't get delivery where you are! Where I lived in Vermont the nearest grocery store was 20 miles away. A real supermarket was 30 miles.

See you all next week......Tomorrow we are flying north.  Sunday there will be a family reunion at my oldest daughter's house. I have warm clothes packed! Still having hot weather here but I've heard it will be much cooler there.

Hope you all stay well and have a good week!

Beverly, I'm hoping to find cooler weather in CO, need to try these RV tires & just too hot to go any other direction, packed some warm clothes & some summer types~  Actually just going to drive, hope to see the aspen in all their glory but don't plan to stay, hope the roadside stands are loaded with new harvest of fruits & veggies.  If the tires still have a problem when I get back this time you can-will hear me roar from coast to coast~  I have 2 reunions & a 100th birthday party for my mother's cousin, all in Oct. so I don't want any more sass out of this RV!!!

I'm making provisions if any of the cats give me trouble I'll leave the old one in the house... half of the house, & the other 2 outside & hope they all survive. Have several of the self feeders if another wild critter doesn't discover them.  I have all their gear in the RV but this time I'm not mickey-mousing around with them, I leave when it's light or else.  Not sure which day I will leave but hope to pick the best for a cool down.  Lots of driving to test but "it is what it is!"  Y'all behave while I can't get to a computer, okay, we are a wild bunch lately.

Smile for the DMV

When I went to get my driver's license renewed, our local motor-vehicle bureau was packed. The line inched along for almost an hour until the man ahead of me finally got his license.

He inspected his photo for a moment and commented to the clerk, "I was standing in line so long, I ended up looking pretty grouchy in this picture."

The clerk looked at his picture closely. "It's okay," he reassured the man: "That's how you're going to look when the cops pull you over anyway."

Food For Thought

Failure in the Pond

By Keith Mannes
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

In the following directives I have no praise for you. . . .
1 Corinthians 11:17
Heroic as he was, there were times when my friend Ron slipped and fell. One Christmas Eve, he and Andy got drunk.
Months earlier, Andy had come to one of our church events slouching, reluctant, and angry. But when he walked in, as he put it, “God just wrapped me in a big ball of cotton.” He was changed by the transforming power of God. Andy became our big, comic, teddy bear.
At Christmastime, Ron was lonely, and since he and Andy had become good friends, Ron invited Andy to stop by on Christmas Eve. “Well,” Ron said, “I opened a bottle of wine. . .”â€"and then at some point in the early hours of Christmas morning Ron and Andy were standing knee-deep in a rural neighborhood pond, shooting off a pistol into the night sky. Later, Ron was horrified with himself. Andy was deeply ashamed.
Sanctification isn’t a once-and-done deal. It can have moments of shocking failure, times when we stumble and fallâ€"just as people did in the church at Corinth. Rich people were taking the best food for themselves and leaving only scraps for the poorer members. They were also drinking much more than a thimble-sized cup of wine for communion.
Yet Paul still called them “brothers and sisters.” A sanctified Christian knows that no matter how bad sin is, God isn’t going to quit on you. His forgiving grace is always there.
Lord, I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Help me to keep trusting in your faithful love. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought of the Day

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm up but not sure if I'm "attem"  yet!  It's 55 degrees here heading for a high of only 84 this afternoon for a couple of hours.  We're supposed to have a little rain for a couple of hours this afternoon.

And there's really nothing else going on in my life today.  I'll be greeting customers at WM this morning and then I'll have to try to think of something to get into this afternoon....if I'm not too tired.

Enjoy your day Everyfriend.  Those who are travelling, keep safe.  Those who are staying home, enjoy your time.  Lloyd, don't work too hard.

Hi everyone on this cloudy Friday morning.  I am happy to start the day feeling much peppier than yesterday and am looking forward to a nice day at home.  I don't intend to get the car out of the garage today.  Yesterday was not a good day for me but I did get most of what I planned on doing accomplished.  If I hadn't made a commitment to my old friend to take him to coffee yesterday I probably would have stayed home.  However, he looks forward to Tuesday and Thursday's when he has a ride to coffee.  I did elect not to attend the Wisdom group at church and after I took him back to his retirement residence I did stop at Walmart and used the cart to get the few items I needed.  I came home and skipped lunch and went and laid down for about three hours, then got up and took Pat to her appointment and we decided to get a quick dinner out so stopped at Chick-fil-A.  I then went to bed about 7:30 and didn't get up this morning until about 7:30.  The housekeeper will be here later this morning and the yard was cared for yesterday afternoon.  I plan on making some chili, which we will probably have for our dinner this evening and maybe a couple of other things.  That is going to be it for today.

Joy, that party your son and DIL give each year sounds like fun but sure a lot of work.  Pot luck meals always seem to end up with a big variety of foods.

Gloria, all that talk about apple crumbles sure makes my mouth water.  We are staying away from sweet at our main meal as Pat doesn't want the sugar.  Of course, I find ways for some sweets in my diet.  I currently have some ginger snap cookies to go with my lunch and will often get some ice cream when I eat out, as I did last night at Chick-fil-A.

Joan, your Linda is just a year younger than my son, who will be 54 next month.  I agree with Jackie in wondering how did all these years go by so quickly since our children were little.

JaneS, think you might be overdoing the "unbirthdays and deducting years" if your children are about to pass you in age.  That could be embarrassing!! :)  Glad to see your Annie is better and wanting to eat.  Just last week our local Walmart started the service where you place your order online, select a time slot to pick it up, and then they will have it ready for you and all you have to do is sign to pay for it.  You do need to place at least a $30 order to receive this as a free service but that isn't hard to do.

Lloyd, my family has always had hot dogs with sauerkraut although the Polish sausage sounds good. I have never had it with pork but know that would also be tasty as JaneS indicates. I bet Nancy will appreciate having her car under cover during the winter months.

Shirley, I bet your cats will manage on their own although it will probably be a shock to them not having someone to order around.  :)  I hope you have a most enjoyable, safe and uneventful trip to Colorado when you decide to go.

June, as you can tell by the length of my posting today I am feeling back to normal.  I would not have done the Walmart shopping yesterday if no electric cart had been available.  Fortunately it was available.

deAngel, I believe Pat is doing better but still has a long ways to go.  She got her own breakfast yesterday and has been fixing her own lunches for awhile.  She just can't stand to be on her feet very long at a time.

Amy,  I find COSTCO will busy every time I go there.  I think it has to be with the fine quality of their products.  It is hard to get out of there without spending $100 or more as the quantities are so large.  We are using a good many of the Kirkland (house brand) products and find them very high quality.  We also like their meat and cheese.  Glad the MRI went well for your husband.

Good morning everyone, hope everyone is fine and dandy on this first full day of autumn. Just heard we have a cold front on the way and will have showers late afternoon.

JOAN  gosh you have to wait more than a month for cooler temperatures. Glad we don't have to wait that long. At least last night the AC was off and just had the window fan going. Slept good. Some nights even with the AC running it is still too warm in here. Tomorrow is my younger son's 64th birthday.

JANE  no trouble highlighting a post. Use what you like. My oldest son retired this year and I remembered when I looked forward to hitting 65 and doing that. At that time I felt worn out. I don't know how you can still be in the work force. Gosh I should have put some apple crisp into the hidey hole.  Think I'll do that now, along with cool whip for topping it. It is good warm or cold. I had one of the small ones I made that I put some coconut on the topping before baking. Loved it. You got  TLH interested in the library at a young age, so wonder she still enjoys going there. I think those who don't read more than a newspaper miss out on a lot.

JOY  your son's yearly gathering is a lot like my older son and DIL have with her family at Christmas.  They used to gather at her brother's home every year but since her SIL is not feeling up to it anymore My son and DIL have it at their home now. It is a big group of at least 60 family members. I have been to several of them and I have known some of her family even before her and my son started dating when they were in high school. They all bring food, one sister makes the best desserts, I always have to save room for some.

GLORIA de  like you I love cranberry anything, besides that, they are good for us. We should be getting the fresh ones in the market soon. I always cook a few pounds and freeze them in small containers. I had some uncooked ones frozen and added to the crisp I made, yummy.

AMY  glad the MRI  went good this time. The noise is terrible, I know I had a hard time with it.

JEANNE  I am not on oxygen but is I am out for more than an hour or so I am ready to come home and lay down.  Being at my grandson's home Labor day wore me out and all I did was sit. Took almost a week to rest up from it. Glad I have my CNA who can go to the market for me and have an online place to shop for a bigger order.

JANE  that would be great for all the WM's to do. I know I could never make it through the new super WM stores.

JEANNE  at first ordering groceries for delivery I wondered if I would get just what I ordered, including the brands I like.  So far everything has been just what I ordered. It all comes from my favorite market.

JOAN on orders of $100 no charge under it is $6.95. They do have a special now and then for free delivery. I wait till there is a special to order.

JACKIE  lately I seldom get to sleep till midnight or later.

BEVERLY  have a safe trip, hope you get to see come beautiful foliage. I always wanted to go to Vermont in the fall. Only time I did get there was in the winter when every thing was white with snow.

SHIRLEY  hope that RV behaves this time.  You going alone this time? Cats can survive if they give you trouble. Have a safe trip.

JOAN  breakfast looks good so know it will be yummy. Chuckles is too true, That is the one place I always dreaded going to. Thank you for today's goodies.

LLOYD  glad you got the water line finished.

HAL   hope that wasn't your Texas team that got whipped by the Patriots last night, ever with a rookie playing. Nope not a fan, just heard it on the news.

LARRY  I love ginger snaps, I used to make them often, better than any bought ones. I usually have ice cream in the freezer and will have some when I want. When my daughter and SIL go to Costco they get there about the time the doors open in the morning. By the time they leave it starts getting crowded. Being so close to the border an lot from Mexico come over and shop there.

Good morning, Larry.  I am glad to hear you feel better today than you did yesterday.  It sounds like Pat is making progress, albeit slow.  It seems the older I get the faster time flies.

Gloria--Good morning.  I wish a cold front would come through here.  Thanks for putting the yummy apple crisp in the "hidey hole".  You have a fairly easy way to order groceries online.

Have read all your good messages, my cleaning lady was here bright and early, and gave me all clean linens and made my bed up fresh. She will be back a little later to do the deep cleaning. So.....I must cut this short, get myself dressed and outa' here so she can do her work. You all sound good today, thank's be to God.

Good afternoon, on another cheerful day.  I did not go to Homemakers to day, as I am still recovering from the three wonder days I had with my DIL.  Have to go to meeting next week, as I am teaching a class, how to knitt texing gloves.

Jane, Tuesday the day my DIL arrived from Mass. I had sauerkrat & bratwush plus potatoes, made in the crockpot. easy dinner.
Shirley and Beverly safe trips.

Joan, thanks for breakfast, sound good.

June, I am lucky with my two DIL's. Just like you.

Gloria, I go to bed about 10, read and watch TV, but it is between Midnight and 1 before I fall asleep.  We are also expecting a cool front for the weekend, and then  quite cool for the rest of the week.

I'm home from work, chased the doggies out and then gave them a snack and ate my lunch.  Now I'm ready to get up a searching party to look for zzzs on the sofa.  I'm REALLY tired today for some reason.  And I'm thankful for 3 days in a row to do whatever...

Joan, no demerit points...I only chased dust bunnies  and then did some sewing :)

Lloyd, my husband was Polish and we lived for four years in a Polish neighborhood so I learned to eat Polish sausage and liked it. But my folks used Pork ribs, cooked with the sour kraut, and they were sooooo tender and good.

Larry, I am so glad you are feeling better and taking a day off. You have certainly earned it.

Bis, Yes, I seem to be the first on her list for cleaning, and she works her way on down the hall. I am the second door on my side of the hall, but my neighbor has a different cleaning lady. Some of them clean on different days too, depending on the time they moved in. I don't mind, as I'm usually awake for a while before she arrives. She does all the linen changes, then comes back for what she calls "deep" cleaning. Beds and baths and done weekly, deep cleaning is every other week.

Janie, I am not surprised you came home from work tired..you didn't feel all that great when you first started this morning. Is retirement in the near future for you ?

I went down for lunch today..had a jumbo salad. I am going back for supper though..they are having trout, and I can't resist that. Just hope I don't give out before then. Have to listen to the body..or else. A nice nap is calling to me, and a fresh book. :sleepy:

Amy--You must have been a sight.  OK--chasing dust bunnies doesn't count.:)

June--Thanks for explaining how housekeeping works there.  Oh yummy!!  I love trout.

Janie--It sure would be nice if you were able to retire.

Janie, I am not surprised you do not recognize retirement. If you live to be a hundred and five, I think you will still be putting "up" food, taking care of people, and raising puppy dogs. And I pray you will be able to enjoy your life all along the way. You are special, my friend.

Bis, the trout was very good, but a very thin fillet. I could have eaten three or four more slices, also very good scalloped potatoes. I didn't recognize the  oriental vegetable tho..rather tasteless. But I'm glad I went for dinner. Now I will return downstairs as I am curious about the entertainment. It is listed as "Documentary: Our Last Tango." If I'm still awake when I get back home, I will discuss it.

I'm on my way to Dreamland early tonight.  Tomorrow some friends and I are travelling to western PA to attend a memorial service for one of our classmates who died recently.  Daisy was one of the nicest people in our class.  I don't think I ever heard her say anything nasty about anyone and everyone loved her....agriculture boys, business students, academics and teachers alike.  She will be missed!

It's almost a 2 hour drive to where she lived and I'm taking my car but 3 of us will share the driving.  It might turn out to be a pretty drive because it's over the mountains into western PA.  It will be a sad trip but I always enjoy the time spent with my high school classmates.

I really enjoyed "the Last Tango" even though the speech was in French, reading the printed caption was easy enough. It was sad. Related by the woman who was the dancer, for forty years she danced with the man she loved, but he did not love her. The dancing was fabulous.Tomorrow I have a program at 2 p.m. and another Hymn Sing Along with my Gary as guest performer on his guitar and his good loud singing voice. I'm really looking forward to that.

Time now to get to bed and book and sleep. Have a blessed night my friends. I send you Love and Prayers and big hugs. June.

Food For Thought

When You're Gasping for Air
(By Larry Eide)

I remember an incident as a boy when we were at the Oregon Coast, and I was knocked over by a wave. The back pull of the current was so strong that I couldn't regain my footing and was being dragged by the waves, gasping for air and thinking I was going to be dragged out to sea. Thankfully I wasn't, so that I'm able to write you these thoughts. But for a few moments of struggling on that Oregon beach, I had trouble catching a breath or getting control of the circumstances. Although it wasn't at a beach, my wife had a similar experience growing up on a farm in Iowa when she was playing around a grain bin while it was loading, lost her footing, fell in and was being covered by grain until noticed by her father and rescued from her crisis.

All of us have incidents and experiences and seasons in life when it feels like things are out of control and inwardly we're gasping for air, trying to catch our breath but feeling overwhelmed and a bit like the waves of worry, fear, sorrow, anxiety, depression, discouragement, or other emotions are sweeping over us and we're fighting a losing battle. If you're in one of those seasons, or when you are, take heart and have courage remembering the character, promises, and plans of God for you. When you're caught up in the experience or immediate circumstance it's easy for that to become your main focus, but returning to the big picture in your heart and mind will bring renewed strength, hope, and courage to catch your breath, regain your footing, and find the ability to move forward and through the circumstances.

I experienced this personally during this summer season, which held many blessings for which I am deeply thankful, but also some heavy testings which related to the struggles of three of our children. As parents we naturally identify with them and carry their burdens with them, and at one point I found myself inwardly feeling like I was gasping for air, pleading for the mercy of Christ. It was in focusing on the character, promises, and plans of God for my children as well as my wife and I that I was able to regain my footing and move forward with confidence and courage.

Jesus has said that he will be with us always, that he uses all things to work for the good of those who love him, that he loves us and is accomplishing supernaturally a plan for our lives that is good and pleasing and perfect. It's important to remember that when the struggles of life start to overwhelm you and you feel like you can hardly catch your breath. At those times, take a deep spiritual breath and let the life and love of Christ renew you and let his strength be made powerfully evident in your weakness!

"Breathe on me, breath of God! Fill me with life anew, that I might love as you've loved & do what you would do! Help me BREATHE in Your Holy Spirit and exhale SELF. I can do all things in Christ, Who strengthens me!  In Jesus Holy Name!  Amen!  POW!

Jane, sorry you have to take that sad trip today, but I know you will still enjoy being with your friends.  I am sure you will find lots of memories to talk about on your travels to the memorial service. Have a safe trip.

Joan, your comment to LLoyd about  his friend sharing his bull with him sounded so funny when I read it. LOL

Good morning everyone, sell my son called me yesterday and he came and took me to Staples. Got a new keyboard, mouse and pad. Since I cannot get to the back of the PC anymore my grandson will be here later to unplug from the back of it and install the new ones.

JOAN  just heard by tomorrow morning it will be in the 40's, maybe I can get the AC put away for the season again and have the window area back again. Room is not that big that this portable is out almost 4 feet from the window, that takes a chunk of out of the room. There are some here who would like to order groceries like I do but they do not have computers and want nothing to do with them.

JUNE  glad my CNA  does not get here that early in the mornings. They start working at 6AM so they have to get up and out early.

GLORIA de  one thing I was never able to do was read in bed. I have to sit up to enjoy reading and I never had a TV in the bedroom.

JANE  enjoy a restful week end.

JOAN  breakfast looks good. Good Food for Thought.  Thank you for today's goodies.

JANE  a sad trip for you but know you will enjoy being with your friends.

AMY  just heard that tomorrow morning we will wake to the 30's Yesterday the high was 85°, big change fast.

JOY  enjoy the gathering today.

Hi everyone on a bright and clear Saturday morning.  It is going to be warmer today getting up to about 90 degrees.

I am looking forward to mid-afternoon as I have a ticket to a Barbershop Chorus and Quartet Concert.  This is their annual concert and is being held out our church in our Fellowship Hall.  Other than that I will work on getting our dinner prepared and a couple of other projects accomplished.  Yesterday was a nice stay at home day and I got the washing done and the chili made among other things.

Gloria, I drink a small glass of cranberry juice every morning with my breakfast.  I sometimes get it with apple or grape mixed with it for a change.  I understand getting so exhausted that it takes all of my well power to just move around and hold my head upright.  Glad your have your CNA.  Not long ago the checker at COSTCO told me around 4 pm is usually a lighter time with fewer shoppers.

JaneS, glad you have a few days off and hope you can get rested up.

June, Pat and I like salad meals with chicken, tuna or salmon salad on top of it with a lot of different vegetables.  I am going to make a Caesar Salad for dinner tonight to go with roast beef, broccoli and Cauliflower, cooked with cheese or lime juice on it and I will have mind raw.  Glad you got to enjoy the trout.

Joan, I really liked the "Thought of the Day".  The past is over and nothing we do can change it.  Deal with things at the time and then move on.

Amy, do you have a large sewing studio and a big stash of fabric?

Lloyd, you can't beat good neighbors who help one another.  That was the way things were when I was growing up on the farm.

Gloria, in this day and age not using a computer is certainly a detriment.  For all the problems that often come with computers I can't image life without them.  I can visualize your apartment as know how small the apartments that Stacey had were although her last one was so well set up that she could store away a lot of things that she had to have out in the first apartment house she lived in.

Gloria, I love the cooler weather, I had thought of painting the hallway today but it is so nice out that I think I will tidy up the flower beds. Have a ling full of laundry blowing in the wind...doggies blankets too!!!

Larry, I have a bedroom that is about 8 x 10 for my sewing room plus the overflow into another bedroom. All my stash is in 3  four shelved cupboards.so yes a wee bit of stash :)

Good Morning Everyone!

Janie, today, as someone said, will be a bittersweet one for you.  But for those of you, classmates, that will be attending together it will be a nice get together, so enjoy the living because we will join the others soon enough.

My friends obit was in the paper this morning.  Funny how people put things in the obits that have no real meaning to others.  I guess the writers write it more for themselves than the readers.  But I guess some things are always best left out.  In my friends case, he was raised pretty rough by a tough old father.  As we used to say he was raised pillar to post.  But he made something of himself and was quite successful in his life.  Strangely what he was most successful at, there was not a mention.  Oh, well.

Not to much on tap today, just watch some college football.  Our Great Grandson is over and staying with us this morning.  His twin brother is playing basketball and since this one is autistic and prone to get excited and try and run out on the court we are keeping him with us.  He is a good kid and keeps himself amused with the IPad.  Kid will more than likely be a wizzard one of these days on computers.

I have to laugh, my old dog gets so jealous of the kids.  She wants all the attention.  Nooooooo, she isn't spoiled, like fun, she isn't.

Everyone have a great day.  I have rambled, haven't I?

Janie, May God bless your day. I am so glad you are with like-minded friends this day.

I have no plans till two o'clock for a program, then our Sing a long at 6:30 . A couple of meals in between. Since I am calling it a free morning I stayed in bed later, then took a nice long warm shower. Just let the water pour down and enjoyed. Then follows the chore of slathering on the lotion. But now I am sitting here reading messages with my eyelids drooping downwards.

Yesterday, I met a new resident coming off the elevator and asked him how he like his new life here at Rowntree. He frowned and said, "there is nothing here for me". It made me feel very sad. He is still on my mind today, and I was thinking I would like to ask him what his profession  was during his working life. There are various things here he could be involved in if he were interested in any of them. Volunteers are needed in many areas. Life is too short to not enjoy each day that we are given.

Larry, I am glad you spent a day at home for a change, but you were still pushing things…laundry and cooking both. I'm glad you will take a break this afternoon and enjoy the concert.

Gloria, I am making up for yesterdays early rising by being really lazy today. I may even skip the program at two this afternoon….I'll just see how it goes. I am so glad your son took you shopping. When I need something new for my Imac, I just order from Apple and they send it out by snail mail. I have purchased both a keyboard an a mouse that way. Plus a few other items.

Hal, I can understand your dog resenting any child or adult that takes you time away from her. Our last dog, Penny, was definitely Ed's dog. They grew old together. He spent hours in his recliner, in front of the t.v. and she was right there in the recliner with him. She really declined in a hurry after Ed's death.

June--Our last dog was like your Petey.  If Ray was home, she was right in his recliner with him.  If Ray was gone, she simply tolerated me.  How sad that the new man you met at Rowntree is so depressed.

I'm back and it truly was a "bittersweet" day.  I don't think the conversation there or back lagged at all.  And the memorial service was beautiful.  We all know that we loved Daisy and would miss her and it was nice to find that there were lots of other people who knew here after we did who also loved her.

I'm really tired now and I'm going to take a short nap before the doggies begin demanding their supper.

I had something nice happen today.  When I went to Indy last week, a last minute thought had me including a ring I had bought perhaps 60 years ago.  When I went to put it on Sunday, I could not find the ring.  I looked in all of the luggage I had taken with me, but I could not find it.  Today I emptied out my purse which has five zippered compartments.  In the last compartment I could search, I found the ring.  Big relief.

Janie--I am happy to hear the Memorial service was beautiful although a bittersweet day.  Hope you get a few zzz's.

Mary Ann--Oh my--I am so glad your found that ring.  A similar thing happened to me about a month ago.  About 3 years ago a very expensive slide bracelet came up missing.  About a month ago I was cleaning out my purse and in the bottom was a small quilted jewelry pouch that I don't even remember ever seeing.  I opened it and there was my slide bracelet.

Just back from our Hymn sing. My Gary was his usual very entertaining self and most of the songs were all new to me but following Gary is very easy to do, so I really enjoyed myself, as did the others. A resident here that goes to Gary's Church did a solo for us...beautiful voice.

So now this happy Mother is going to get ready for bed. I have much to be thankful for.

Have a good night my dear ones. I love you, prayers for you and hugs of course. June.
