A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand. Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?

I come from there

"I come from there... where good is greater.
From where evil dries up, it doesn't sprout.
From where it's sunny, even on a rainy day and the rain comes as a blessing.
There's always a wing, a shelter to protect from the wind and storms.
I come from a place... that smells like weeds...
river water right there and a bird in all seasons.
I come from a place where bread is divided, pain is shared and love multiplies.
I come from a place where those who leave stay forever, because they only left good memories.
I come from a place where children are angels,
young people are hope and the elderly are trust and wisdom.
I come from a place where a brother is a bond of love and a friend is always a hug, love and warmth.
Where home welcomes forever, like a mother's heart.
I come from a place that is light even on a dark night.
Which is peace, faith and affection.
I come from there and I'm not alone, I'm a beauty collector, I survive on enchantment,
I feed on what's good, on the good.
I look for beauty and well-being, I survive on what is clear...
and I only look for what I learned to like.
I don't forget where I come from and I'll always want to go back.
My place is sustained by the good I find along the way,
along with bundles of lavender and rosemary.
So, I am like a little bird carrying the bag of goodness,
picking up scent sticks to heat and support the nest.
Maybe life has made you believe that this place doesn't exist.
I tell you: there is, it's easy to find.
Silence, breathe, disarm yourself, realize, it's close.
This place that pulsates love is within us, it is essence.
It's in each of us. We just need to look for it..."

We don't become wise by thinking more. When our mind becomes relaxed and open, we suddenly have a brilliant idea. Trust the wisdom that exists in silence, and rest your hardworking mind for a while.

Ah, Bubble, I was enjoying EVERY word until you brought up the **** clock changing. When will the world realize changing that clock DO NOT change a single thing in the world we live in!!!  Only does a number on our heads!  I did appreciate all the graphics and the pearls of wisdom. So far my morning has been a downhill slide but I'm getting a handle on each detail & plan to fill in all gaps by evening. I am running out of steam.

Good morning, WORLD! Wishing all happiness and smiles.  Love ya. Shirley/Tisie :angel2:

I learned something new today, a strawberry is not a fruit, but a cucumber is. The difference is that a fruit has its seeds on the inside which is why a tomato is also a fruit.

Well, we didn't spend much money on supplies for the Soda Shoppe today, did we!  Our business is sure on the downhill side these days!

Cooper and I did our two walks today and we avoided the rain on both of them.  We played with his toys in the living room until both of us were worn out and then we both collapsed on the couch and took a short nap.  I did a bit more laundry and a lot more straightening up.  The papers are driving me nuts!  I wish someone would just come in here and toss what I don't need to save a make a neat file of all the rest.  I never did want to be a file clerk!

If I had to choose an office job it would be answering the phone or running errands office to office.  I really did enjoy my job in the Pennsylvania House factory office helping dealers who called in find what they needed to serve their customers.  At least it was possible to SEE what you were accomplishing there!  This "house" stuff is frustrating!

I think I'll try to forget about it and get some extra sleep tonight!  I hope there will be more people coming in here for coffee, tea or ice cream sodas tomorrow.  I miss you all!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Just realized that after findnig papers for work done on vehicle I need to purge that file!! Still need to do some follow up on past parts that were replaced and hope they are still under warranty.

Patricia, see ,we are never too old to learn.   I really liked Phyllis Emerald Lady Bubble posted, just perfect for St Patricks day. From one Irish lady to another.

Shirley, I wish they would leave the clocks alone...once we get to daylight savings leave it there!

Lloyd, hope Nancy is feeling a lot better. You both need to take better care of yourselves..slow down and enjoy life.

Not sure what is happening today.....will know better tonight.

Do know we are in for another dandy snack of snow Fri afternoon and Sat

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

"daylight savings" - - - I checked it and there are the exact same number of hours of daylight one way or the other. Where's the saving?

Rammel,  I think it's the "daylight" that's supposedly saved.  When we "spring forward", it makes the evenings longer - which suits me just fine!!! "Falling back" makes daylight come earlier, which I usually miss because I'm still

Good morning from the Interior! I'm late this morning due to a restless evening and early morning calls. I find it peculiar that when I have a slow day, I can fall asleep easier than if I have a busy day, making it harder to fall and stay asleep. Tomorrow and the weekend will be busy and won't slow down until Tuesday.

I used to believe I was mainly Irish. My maternal side prized being Irish; the different maternal surnames were always Irish. A large part of that side of the family had been dispersed from Ireland due to large tracts of land purchased by absent English landlords and small farms demolished for sheep grazing.

Then after taking two DNA tests, I found that I am only 12% Irish! The rest is Scandinavian, Scot, Welsh, German, and Belgium. My sister says we're Northern European, and it's quite a letdown from family lore. I've also found that my paternal family members who took the DNA tests used 23&Me, while my maternal side preferred Ancestry.

Daylight savings time began as a way to conduct business more easily. Alaska, at one time, used three separate time zones. For business reasons, it was consolidated into one, making aligning with Seattle and the northwest coast businesses easier.

So far no new snow  and when it does it is not going to be nice! Weatherman is talking heavy wet snow and I and others really dislike that. Makes it difficult to clean up! My steering trigger still isn't  in but will get along fine without it for now.

Kyle doesn't have oatmeal cookies , more like oatmeal frisbees :2funny:  when I made the dough I put it into rolls to use for later...but should have made them smaller...oh well next time.

Janie.........hmmm.?? clearing your throat or getting ready to sing us a song? :smitten:  I do hope you and Cooper in for the night snuggled up together for the night.

It's time to hit the haystack and who wants to stay up with that weather out there?  AMY, I thought I told you to keep this stuff on your side of the border!  It's been snowing and/or sleeting ever since about noon.  It's a real mess out there.  And when I sat down with my supper to eat and watch TV the signal was blocked by the messy weather!

I sure hope it finishes up overnight!  I'm going to wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow...God bless!

Jane ours started around 8 pm last night, I checked at 2 pm and we had 3" then. I do hope it finds the STOP button.

Better get my dancing clothes on..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's icy out there but the roads are cleared.  They have a way of dealing with icy roads and we don't even see the trucks any more!  If Cooper is here when they're dealing, he barks and I might catch a glimpse.

He's on his way here  today.  Frankie doesn't work until 10:30 today so they'll be a bit late.  I'm washing everything that Cooper makes his own when he's here because he got a haircut and a professional bath yesterday.

Today will be a "Cooper" day and a get ready for tonight day.  Granddaughter Kiran is in charge of properties for the high school Spring Concert and we all go to support her.  We don't see her until they all come on stage at the end but she knows we're there.

AMY, I'm glad your snow was "soft" and easier to remove.  I'm also glad it was on that side of the border!

I wish Everyfriend a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Snow was a stinker to move!! Plugged up the snowblower even when you just took half a row. :knuppel2:  :tickedoff:  :tickedoff:
Finally ,not without grief and $$%^$^#  the snow has been cleaned up and shhh the snow has stopped.......for now. I noticed the neighbour also had trouble with his snowblower plugging....not a fun just to unplug!

Laundry may wait for another day..rest seems to be a job I would like to do at the moment.  ;D

There's nothing calling my name today either. I spent most of yesterday afternoon paying bills and buying groceries. As usual, I met with friends for lunch and descended to the grocery and malls in mass.

I found everything on my list except for Fels Soap; I know they still make it, and it's excellent for laundry; but it seems not to merit being sold here. I guess I'll have to check Amazon. I did look for a combination small backpack purse, but the ones they had drawfed me, so no luck.

I did buy a 4-quart slow cooker as my recently rediscovered 1.5 slow cooker isn't worth making more than dressings or dips.

I have three cookbooks on my kindle going back to when I had my six quarts slow cooker for meal prepping, and there was nothing for the smaller size. I debated buying the slow cooker for some time, either that or an air fryer but with thin justification for the slow cooker; I had none left for an air fryer.

My life is so exciting this winter that if I had new paint and watched it dry, as Rick mentioned in Norm's, I'd probably be mesmerized!

Well, hokey teddy bear it is snowing again!!! I,for one thought we were blessed with more than enough in the past two days......guess not.

A day of rest here, one that is welcomed. My get some sewing down later and make a connection for a quilt delivery for Wed if the time is right.

Ok, those that wish/want to watch paint dry for the excitement......do I have an exciting time for you. One that gets you outside in the fresh air, one that yes you can feel the wind on your face and you get to dance. Now the dance can come fast, jitterbug or a slow waltz, your choice.

Shirley, hasn't been in here since March 1 st.

Jane, you must have been tuckered right down to the soles of your feet last night.

Mycheal, envious of no snow  and temp of 50!!

Better go see what I can get out of doing .

Hello Everyfriend!  Cathy got me back on line!  I do have LLoyds number on my phone and Nancy's too.  I have Shirley's in my little book which is temporarily missing.  There have been so many people in and out of my office and so many things moved around that my little red book is missing.  I'm going on a major hunt for it when I'm finished here and if LLOYD doesn't check in, can can call him or Nancy!

I've been sitting around wondering what my grandmother did with her spare time when she reached her 80s and I finally decided that the TV was as new to her as my computer is to me.  She had her own names for the shows and the people who acted in them.  I remember her telling my kid sister that she was watching a western called "Have Gun, Will Travel".  And she pointed to the star and told my sister "That man right there is HAVE GUN".

I did get a large chunk of my book read mostly because Saturday night when I was computerless, I got my dinner and sat down to eat while I watched Mannix.  It was sleeting outside and my signal was gone.  No Mannix!  And no Computer!  I was lost until I remembered my book!

Let me know is someone already called Lloyd or if he showed up somewhere else!  I'll keep looking for Shriey's number.  Enjoy the rest of your day!

I'M HOME FROM A WEEK LONG HOSPITAL VISIT

I went in a week ago with the intention of dying but the "Pearly Gates" were locked.  I had done a Google for last stages of congestive heart failure so when I went into that mode my daughter called the brothers & off we went. I had heard great reports from everyone about the new hosopital on the west side of town and chose that (after making sure Medicare & Blue Cross agreed). The entire crew of doctors & staff are the best of the best and I decided if I was going to live longer it was heavenly there but finally they had to turn me out. The only downside is you don't get much sleep.

I am not good with numbers but pretty sure the final water loss was about 50 pounds, they talk in different measurers & I don't convert. All that water came on since last fall so skin was stretched tight & now I need some clothes pins to keep it from flapping in the wind!

My daughter is staying at the house & wouldn't have answered the phone, neighbors have checked & family in Missouri, busy place. So nice to see the kids all hang together, and the daughter-in-law has loved all the activity. We created a "Mom BAG" that has money for them to eat out or bring home whatever sounds good, plus buy anything I might want. Must say, the hospital has good food and will bring anything extra one wants (except salt).

So, no snow here, maybe some rain on Wed. My critters that come to eat right outside my Window to the World (over kitchen sink), so I will get to see the new visitors.

Thanks for missing me, had my cell with me but no clue how to do anything but call the names already programmed in so will say good night or morning & try for more sleep.

Good morning.

Did you see that beautful moon  in the sky?

I am off to the city again..taking my friend in to get "measured" for her cataract  surgery. She had to cancel the last appointment due to a snow storm.
She wants to do a bit of shopping then appointment then home. Then next Tue she goes in for surgery, being diabetic  and she has a pacemaker she gets her surgery early in the morning so we will have to leave here 6 -6:30 am.

Better get my city duds on and make a lucnh up for Kyle.

Just remembered, Shirley, my sis in law had skin that hung under her arms and she called it her angle wings in the making :)

Enjoy your day and stay sasfe..

Oh Boy!  I'm glad I decided to check in this morning!  It's so good to see you, SHIRLEY and to hear that the hospital didn't want to keep you!  You take care of you!

I have to get busy and get some stuff done.  I wish I had as much taken care of as everyone else seems to.  If I did, I'd be able to find it!  You all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

SHIRLEY, each day better than the one before!

Tisie (Shirley), --- Welcome back. Get the rest (sleep) that you missed at the hospital ------ and follow their directions. We want to keep you around here for a while longer. Rick Jr says hello. I will PM you later today.

AMY - I'm scheduled for a cataract job in mid April. Your mention of Diabetes reminded me that it is something to be considered in scheduling. That will be fun because my son will be going with me and he is a night person. Not usually available in the morning.

I also see Lloyd has checked in so all are present or accounted for.  As Martha would say - "A good thing".

Well, here we all are, together again!  Even a couple of people who have left us came by to welcome our drifters back!  That's nice!

I've been up to my eyeballs in papers most of the the day and now they're divided so that the saved ones are only up to my chin (I'm still working on them) and I have a waste can full of throwaway.  I talked to the trash picker uppers today and I can put out an extra bag with throwaways in it this week and all it will cost me is an extra tag (that's about $2.75)...a pretty good deal!

Cooper will be here at 6:45 tomorrow and that's early!  So I'm going to hit the haystack a bit earlier than I've been doing lately.  Tomorrow's dinner is planned for the crockpot and it's one of AMY'S recipes from the file in here!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Good morning...

I was so tired out last night I let the sheep count themselves. My friend was here shorlty after 8 am and then the fun began!!We did most of our shopping before her appointment then a bit more on the way home. We have a lot of fun when out and get others to join in the laughter with us.

Today is pick up the part for the snowblower and I think take out taxes to the bookkeeper. Should I happen to find some enery bread will be done........maybe.

Rick, she also has a pacemaker and COPD and is looking forward to the 15th when the surgery will be done. We will be at the hospital about 3 hours then I take her back the next day for them to check the pressure  in her eye. My neighbour wore glasses all her life, strong ones and now she doesn't need to wear them daily but for reading. Amazing surgery!

I had better see if I can move forward and get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper is here and he's had his breakfast and is now ready for his walk!  He always lets me know in no uncertain terms!  And I'm not dressed yet so that's next on the agenda!  Then we'll go for his walk!  He always takes me where he wants to go.

I have the stuff out for my crock pot recipe from AMY in the recipe folder.  I have to get it going as soon as we get back from our walk because it says to leave it for 8 hours.  I start getting hungry for whatever is in the crock pot as soon as the tantalizing smell begins to drift out of the kitchen!

Guess I better get this day going!  AMY, have a safe trip.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Callie, I can have that problem even without seasonable allergies. We have been in the double-digit plus all this week, and today is a real downer as we first had forecasted 3-4 inches of snow which never happened. Then they changed it to sleet and icy rains, which unfortunately is happening. The snow has a yellow cast and appears to be shrinking.

The last two days, I've been in a hearty supper phase and have cut up carrots and sweet peppers and thrown in some cauliflower and other frozen veggies, plus cut up some caribou chunks and added a couple of tablespoons of Better Than Bouillions's seasoned garlic mix finishing with some good grinds of black pepper. A delicious meal to warm me up emerges five and a half hours later. The way today's weather is going, those leftovers won't last!

Well, I made AMY's crockpot recipe today and it was delicious.  However, I discovered that I was totally out of barbecue sauce so I used some of the home made hot sauce that I bought at the Tulsa Farmers' Market last summer when I was there.  And it turned out great!  I have enough for about 10 more meals so some of it will get frozen for a later date and some of it will go this week.  I'm really going to have to stock up on that sauce when I go down the next time.  It was made by a couple about the age of my oldest daughter and his name was Dan.  They called it "Dan Hot Sauce" and they had it in mild, medium and hot. (I bought the HOT!)

Gonna try to get to bed a bit early again tonight because Cooper will be here at 6:45 again.  And I have to be ready for a dr. appt at 11:15 and another one at 1:30.  Cathy and I are going to grab lunch on the run.

CALLIE, I hope your allergies decide not to be a big bother!  That's no fun!  My mother suffered from Spring allergies and she always wished them gone!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Good morning..

Taking vehicle in for y pipe, resinator and warrenty work on another part. This one is going to hurt the pocket book!

Yesterday ws a sad day, Rex had his last truck ride. He had stopped eating and drinking so neighbour took him to the vet to see why.......he was full of cancer! Needless to say there are two sad houses as we have watched him grow from a puppy, looked after him when needed and given him his pedicure every two weeks. I just gave him one and he rarely gives kisses not like Jesse who can't hold his licker but did, looking back I wonder if he knew what was to be.

Better get a move on.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I've been up and attem since about 6:15 this morning.  Cooper arrived at 6:45 hungry for his breakfast and ready for a walk.  I fed him and then he took me for a walk!

I have two dr. appointments today so I have to go get ready.  Cathy is picking me up!  And I need to make a quick stop at the store along the way.

PATRICIA, I looked at your posting and it makes me think too hard.  I suppose I really should be thinking but it's too early in the morning!  I do some of my best thinking around midnight...especially if I've slept through a couple of TV shows.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

This day was so full that I missed a lot.

AMY, I did read and sympathize with you and your neighbor about losing Rex.  I'm sure you are all hurting from having to deal with that!  When I read that I did say a prayer for all of you.

But today was such a busy day that my thinking was all jammed up and I'm just now getting back in here!  And it looks like Everyfriend had a busy day today.  I hesitate to say it with the bad news above but my doctor's visits both brought good news.  That made the busy-ness and the pressure of the day ease a bit!

Now I'm off to the haystack to see if I can catch up on my energy for tomorrow.  That's my daughter's birthday and we're all going out to dinner tomorrow to help her celebrate!  And Cooper will be arriving at 6:45 a.m. again tomorrow.  I'm tired all the way down PAST my toenails if that's possible!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow!  Each day of missing Rex will get easier!

Good morning..

Weatherman said we are in for more snow.bless his heart.Working around home today, I need to pick apart a chicken I cooked yesterday  bag and tag it for the dogs.Make up a batch of refridgerated Bread and Butter pickles and clean house.

Patricia, thank you. We all knew this was coming, he was 14 yrs old and had a really good life despite his health issues. Allergic to wheat and liver and he had arthritis later on. I think he delighted in scaring me if he was outside and I would run to put stuff in the compost bin..a huge awoof would be heard. I would tell him he scared me and I swear he smiled at that!!

Jane, thank you, yes, it will get better, Just kinda raw for now. I know we have to do the right thing for our furkids but why is right so hurtful?  Each day is a blessing with Babe but I do know our turn is next.
There is a saying I only talk to myself when I want to talk with someone intelligentent. You can use that if your caught talking to yourself.:)

Snow blower has a new steering trigger on it ready to go...job wasn't that bad to do.

IMHO - There's nothing wrong with talking to yourself, even having a conversation. But try to avoid arguing. There's always a loser.

Thanks for the advice about talking to myself.  RICK, there are times when I do argue with myself and you're right.  There is always a loser.  But there's always a winner, too.  So I guess I break even!

When Cooper and I were out for our walk, I heard Ducks on the nearby pond and before we finished, there were two big Vs of the in the sky overhead.  And, AMY, they were flying due north.  They must not have heard the weather report about the snow.  But maybe they're trying to escape the snow that's predicted for here today.  It's supposed to start any time now and last all day.  I hope it's not bad enough to spoil Cathy's birthday dinner!

Hope everyfriend is having a good day so far!

Good late morning everyone. Local weather is about the same as the past two weeks, and everyone here is doing the same. The Iditarod, the annual 1000-mile dog race commemorating the dog race to Nome with Diphtheria vaccines and medication, is well underway and the main sporting topic of conversation here. Nothing else is newsworthy from this end.

"Talking to Your Pets or Your Plants Means You're Smart

According to science, people who talk with their pets, to their plants, speak sweet nothings to their cars, etc. have a higher intelligence. Many people look at pet owners or plant enthusiasts as if they are crazy when they talk to them as if they are human, however, a behavior scientist at Chicago University found that science reveals quite the opposite. People who talk to their pets or other inanimate objects tend to be smarter "

SHIRLEY, maybe it's time to slow down and give your brain time to catch up?  Could be!

Dinner was good.  The restaurant was Mexican and it was all delicious!  I couldn't tell you what I had because I couldn't read the menu.  The waitress told me what was in something and I said "That sounds good". I got it and ate it and it was good but I still don't know what it was.

I think this was the second day in a row that I took on too much and I'm going to give in early and try to get caught up on my rest!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Today is going to be a "do nothing" day.  And if you believe that, you'll believe anything!  Something always crops it head up and begs for attention!

Hello Everyfriend!  Everyone must be busy elsewhere today.  It's "almost" too quiet in here.

When DST comes or goes, it always makes me think of my kid sister, Leslie!  My mother took the clock down off the shelf once in the early evening and said, "I guess I better get this clock changed before I forget".  My sister, who was about 7 years old said, "No Mommy!  You can't change the clock now!"  My mother said, "Why not?!  And my sister said, "You have to do it at 2 o'clock in the morning!  That's what they just said on the radio!"  My mother had to explain what was what. And it took a little while!  My older sister and I couldn't help laughing at her and my mother shook her finger at both of us!

I'm going to try to get to bed a little earlier tonight since I'll be losing an hour!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow!  God bless!

Good morning..

Tad chilly out there but a nice sunny day. A welcomed day of rest here.I am one that wishes they would leave the time change alone.

I heard geese this morning, not many lakes open for them, so hope they do find some food. Crows have been dropping in to dine but haven't seen Drop Wing yet. Had to stop putting food out at night for them for their early morning dine as the fox would get it on them.

Jane, my day was busy with laundry, baking and I had refriderator bread and butter pickles to finish off. They are really good and our grocery store had English cuckes on sale. .It takes 3 cucumbers and a couple of onions and along with making up the syrup to go on them that is it. Easy peasy.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

These insults are from an era before the English language got boiled down to  4-letter words. Insults then, had some class!

1.  "I  am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play;
Bring a  friend, if you have one."
George  Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill.

"Cannot  possibly attend first night, I  will attend the second...If  there is one."
     -  Winston Churchill, in response.

 2.   A  member of Parliament to Disraeli: "Sir, you will  either die on the gallows, or of some  unspeakable  disease."

     ·  "That  depends, Sir," said Disraeli, "whether I embrace  your policies or your  mistress."

  3. "He  had delusions of  adequacy."    -  Walter Kerr

4. "I  have never killed a man, but I have read many  obituaries with great  pleasure."
     -  Clarence Darrow

 5.  "He  has never been known to use a word that might  send a reader to the  dictionary."
     -  William Faulkner (about Ernest  Hemingway).

6."Thank  you for sending me a copy of your book; I'll  waste no time reading  it."
     -  Moses Hadas

7. "I  didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice  letter saying I approved of  it."
     -  Mark Twain

 8. "He  has no enemies, but is intensely disliked by his  friends.."
     -  Oscar Wilde

  9. "I  feel so miserable without you; it's almost like  having you  here."
     -  Stephen Bishop

10."He  is a self-made man and worships his creator."
     -  John Bright

 11. "I've  just learned about his illness. Let's hope it's  nothing  trivial."
     -  Irvin S. Cobb

 12. "He  is not only dull himself; he is the cause of  dullness in  others."
     -  Samuel Johnson

13.  "He  is simply a shiver looking for a spine to run up."
     -  Paul  Keating

14.  "In  order to avoid being called a flirt, she always  yielded  easily."
     -  Charles, Count Talleyrand

 15.  "He  loves nature in spite of what it did to him."
     -  Forrest Tucker

 16.  "Why  do you sit there looking like an envelope  without any address on  it?"
     -  Mark Twain

17. "His  mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork."
     -  Mae West

 18.  "Some  cause happiness wherever they go; others,  whenever they  go."
     -  Oscar Wilde

 19. "He  uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts... For support rather than  illumination."

Good Morning!  I feel a lot better and I've decided it might have been caused by the new medicine the Dr. prescribed on Thursday.  I've been feeling bad since I started taking it and I looked up what it can cause.  I'm not taking it today and see what happens.  If I don't feel sick, I'll tell him I can't take this one!

BUBBLE, I LOVED all those comments from the famous people.  They do have a way with words!

I'm waiting for Cooper.  He isn't due until just before 11.  I thought it was an early day today!  It's a possibility that I might have him overnight tonight.  That sometimes happens when a late day is followed by an early one.  It kind of depends on how tired she is at the end of the day.  I'm flexible.  I'll wait and see!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Jane, like you, afraid the meds are fighting against me. Have several people trying to find answers but the BP is low enough to scare the home health nurse so I have a call in to see if I'm to take more of the pills. They are re-inventing this old body & it's not working too well. Life long BP at "Oh,MY high" to "oops!"

Bubble, absolutely love the old insults, I'll send them on to my kids, thanks!

Amy, my snowblower didn't get out of storage & nearly everyone in the neighborhood is "scalping" their yards already! We have several nights of below freezing so I'm trying to get the flowers that are popping up watered deep enough for the roots to go down & not to the surface. My mother had a green thumb & every now & then I get a flash back from her. We are super dry here so I'm afraid what didn't get watered this winter will be dead. When we lived in western KS I got the hose & sprinklers out once a month & watered deep. One year I had a beautiful ice garden but soon as the sun got around it melted.

Off to do something to stay awake!

I'm too tired to think straight tonight. I'm off to the haystack.  I sure hope we have more visitors to the Soda Shoppe tomorrow.  If we don't use up the milk we got for the milkshakes, it's going to spoil as is the coffee cream!

I wish you a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Better get my rear in gear and get a move on.

Good late afternoon, Jane. I'm glad you're feeling better, and Shirley, I hope they find some answers per your meds!

Amy sounds like you were busy, out and about as well. It sounds as if your friend had quite a drive yesterday and perhaps not any dancing today.

I'm on my way to the haystack.  This was a blustery day here with some very fine snowflakes and some very fine rain at times during the day.  When Cooper took me for a walk, we made one quick circle and he headed back home quickly!  And onece when he hung around the front door to go out in the fenced yard he only stayed about 10 minutes and he's good for anywhere from a half hour to an hour and a half or more if it's a nice day!

AMY, I hope all's going well with your friend and she heals quickly.  I have a very good dog biscuit recipe but unfortunately, it has 4 ingredients in it!  I made some for all my doggie friends for Christmas and it went over very well. I've been thinking I should make some more.  Maybe I'll just wait and try your recipe!

Thanks for the good words about my feeling better.  I haven't heard back from the dr. about the meds that I think caused it but I'm not taking them until I do!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

Good morning, Amy; they're slowly adjusting, although Alan says he's been institutionalized. At this time, they can't have visitors due to still recovering. One of their two cats died; she was sixteen and had health issues, so in a way, it was expected, but her new owners said both cats were missing Alan and Dora. The other cat, ten years, is not doing well, hiding and avoiding people. It's a lot to take in.

Another couple sold their land and found an apartment, leaving two couples on the ridge. So there are lots of changes right now and a lot of uncertainty.

Being the nice Mom I am I phoned David before I left ...at 6:30 am. On this day I didn't  get much sleep as he wanted to see the world. He was already up  and I wished him Happy Birthday.
Feet are going up and I am going to rest...house work can take a back seat until tomorrow.

It is 2:09am in my part of the world. I woke up to TigerKat missing from my bed so came to see if she had gotten locked inside any closet or room when someone showed up yesterday. It was non-stop people/family/physical therapist/nurse/new equipment that sends vitals to Alabama & they fly back to my doctors. I guess that is the new way. I did manage to do the first round okay but certainly does put the ole heart into stress mode. The Dr appointment didn't get the one med changed but at least cut in half.

Lloyd, I hate to tell you but think OUR days of traveling in motorhomes is over. Mine is sitting in the driveway with 4 new tires & 2 front ones with about a thousand miles on them, full tank of gas & propane & itching to go, BUT, this old body knows it is only a dream now. Too bad we didn't get them when we were younger, huh?  Guess we had better be happy we have memories.

Looks like we have some rain/snow moving in from the west that could be messy. We need moisture but rather not the slick kind.  Tiger showed up so will give her a bowl of milk and try for more sleep.

Rick, my robins are back & saw one pull 2 long worms out of the ground near where we feed & water the birds & opposum. I have been sharing my grapes with them but have to cut in half so they can bam them on the ground to "kill" before eating. One likes the crackers that get soaked with water or milk, never saw a robin eat bread or crackers before. The one we had around for years before Cas died used to play catch with him, for little bites of honey-wheatberry bread. Have 8 years of photos of her building the bright nests with colored Easter grass any where she could keep an eye on our garage door to come get food.

Sweet dreams to all, love reading about all your lives. Shirley/Tisie

Good morning.

So much for trying to sleep in, I thought  since I don't have any long trips I could.  I do have lots of work to catch up on so maybe it is just as well. Household chores or as Callie would say Domestic Duties calling, then I deliver a quilt this afternoon.

Shirley, sounds like you also had a busy day yesterday, aren't  we fortunate that all these services and equipement are at hand.Plus your family is taking good care of you.

Little Sir Echo,  I mean Rick thank you for turning the lights off.

Patrica, when we are younger we can't help but think of the time where we don't have to go to work.......but when that time comes our bodies protest and go from overdrive to reverse. That's life..

Jane, hope it is wifi problems...will call later.

Better start my day then maybe at some point I can do some sewing.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I had so much to do last night before I could crawl into the haystack that I just left off the computer.  I was tired right down to the space BELOW my feet!  And that's not good!  I feel a bit better this morning.

I have to go get dressed and let Cooper take me for a walk and then I have to get ready for an ear dr. visit this at 1:30.  It's check up time!  And after the ear dr. Cathy is heading for the Amish grocery store and I'll be hanging out with her!

I agree that our life is laid out to prepare us for "Old Age".  I guess it's for the best that way!

I read all the messages and I sympathize with and pray for the the needs of everyone.  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.  Each day better than the last.

Our robins are back too. A couple of days ago I was standing on my front porch and robin landed on top of a bush right in front of me - about two feet away. Like it was saying "I'm back, - do you have some chow". Just a little while ago my son said there was a robin at the back porch window sill looking for a handout. I don't know if it is the same robin or if there are two.
I also heard a mocking bird and after looking around for it I spied a small one at the driveway. Too small for it to be the one from last year.
So now my Spring entertainment begins. I always enjoy seeing them all when I get up in the morning.

I am glad to read that the robins have arrived in the North. We always have the migrating groups stop here to rest up and get some food before they move on farther up. We had several groups stop by looking for food and a resting place.

I'm sorry I haven't been here much lately.  I have been overwhelmed by all of the changes in my personal business and healthcare coverage.  My old brain has trouble dealing with all the new information and all the changes that are required.  I hope I have everything set up properly now....with the exception of dealing with my new doctor and a new Prescription online pharmacy.  And, also trying to deal with a cranky computer and Google going crazy on changing security requirements.  It has been very trying and my aging brain makes it twice as difficult.  And I haven't even started my taxes!  That is another whole can of worms!

As I have said in the past, I don't cook much anymore--most everything is catered and delivered by one place or another--but I decided to order a food kit from Papa Spuds for Shepard's Pie (which I'll make) and already baked Soda Bread.  That came yesterday and I was surprised to discover that the Soda Bread is sweet and not savory, like I was expecting.  It has a lot of chocolate chips in it and that was new to me. It is typical of Southern breads that they prefer them to be sweet.  I cut a small wedge for each of us, David and me, and it is very good but I will use it as a dessert instead as an accompaniment for the Shepard's Pie.  It is more like what I call a Sally Lunn bread.  Has anyone here made Soda Bread? Do you make it sweet or savory?

Shirley, you sound more like your old self, I'm happy to see.  It's really hard dealing with all these changes to our lives, isn't it?  Each day becomes a challenge.  At least, it keeps my aging brain working and that is good....I guess.  ???

Take care, All.

Good morning; it's minus 17 now, and we're unlikely to see any robins until mid to late May. They're always one of the last ones to arrive back north. They always seem to come when the Asian cranes do. We generally have several smaller birds, wrens, sparrows, redbills, and chickadees that overwinter yearly.

What is interesting about these birds is each late fall, they form huge multi-species flocks for protection. In the spring, these large flocks break up into the summer species-specific smaller communities.

In the winter, the ravens come down from the mountains and return to the mountains in the spring. We don't have the bald eagles that live in the southeast part of the state. The Homer fishing fleet brings them in the thousands, a sight to see. Locally we have giant golden eagles. We also have numerous hawks and owls that may or may not overwinter.

I didn't know that they made sweet-soda bread. It doesn't sound appetizing, but I suppose if you put enough sugar in it. Amy, your recipe #1159 is more like the ones I make.

GOOD MORING, EVERYFRIEND!  I've already been busy up the gazoo!  But I'm going to try to remember which button to press when I'm finished here.

Yesterday, on the way home from the store, Cathy and I came past the pond where the geese are gathering.  I can hear them whenever I'm out in my yard but yesterday I saw them!  There must have been a couple of hundred on the pond.  I live between the pond and the river (much closer to the pond) and the geese and ducks use them both for "motels" on their way North.  I've seen numerous VEES in the sky and I love hearing the chat with each other on the way!

No Cooper today!  His mommy has the day off.  She did say she might stop over at some point but it depends on how tired she is and how much she needs to do at home.  We'll see!

I have all the stuff out in the kitchen for my Irish Soda Bread and that's next on my agenda!    Have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!  (Now here goes the button press)

Good morning all! We are still in the deep freeze at minus 18. Twice now, we've missed warming up this week, and now they're telling us we will do so today and over the weekend. Promises, promises!

Amy, back when I could walk about unfettered, I would spend hours at the Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge and Sanctuary in the areas open to the public. If you had any blues or a headache, the refuge was guaranteed to cure either. They say over 80,000 birds and butterflies worldwide stop there to rest on their journies or to breed.

It looks like it's been a quiet day in the Soda Shoppe.  About 9 1\2 hours and nobody even ordered a soda or a cup or coffee.

I was out walking today and I counted upwards of a couple hundred geese flying overhead.  I was out maybe a total of about a half hour, maybe 45 minutes.  They just never stopped moving and making sounds!  I was totally amazed!

I had my Irish Soda Bread and there's a bit left!  I'll probably finish it off tomorrow.

Now I'm going to settle down and try to sleep.  Cooper won't be here until about 10:15 so I can take my time.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

Stopping in for a quick peek. Busy day around here & I am ready for bed. It is really cold out so I've been warned oxygen doesn't work at these temps & stay inside. Andy came by to fix a couple things for me & put out bird seed & some stale crackers for the ones that eat on the ground. I am surprised that this crazy robin (pretty sure one that was born on the light fixture) was eating those crackers. We pour water or old milk over the crackers or dry bread & all the birds go wild over it. Have quite a few red wing blackbirds that come up from the river, still some little snowbirds (juncos) around. We haven't seen many of the Canadian geese here but understand they have moved a few miles outside this area. Lots of the little house finches, seem to be brighter red this year.... maybe it's the cataract surgery.  ;)

Sweet dreams to all, God Bless. Shirley/Tisie

Good morning..

When I went to bed it was lightly snowing but must have stopped, no accumulation to deal with yet.

Our supper was good and we have enough for tonight if we wish.  I see a "mouse" big one at that has been into the brownies in the night.

No robins here or geese..most lakes are still froze over and very little bare ground here. Folks have till the end of the month to get their fish huts off the lake.

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Right now it's 32º here but heading for a high of 45 and cloudy!

I didn't have a particularly good night last night and I'm guessing there will be a nap or two today,  I'm having my breakfast and then getting ready to meet up with Cooper mid morning today.  Nothing else on the agenda.  I was thinking that Cooper and I might take a walk over to pond today and see if the geese are there of if they've moved on.  Don't know if we'll do that or not but it's a possibility!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

I slept like a log last night.  I was so tired when I went to bed I didn't bother to read or listen to calming music.  Turned the light out as soon as I hit the bed and was asleep almost instantly.  I wore myself out with cooking even though David helped me with lifting heavy pans and fetching pantry supplies...he even stirred the pot while I sat and rested for a few minutes.  But, it was all worth it.....the Shepherd's Pie was delicious and we even have enough left over for another meal. The fresh ingredients (even the ground beef from a local cattle farm) plus printed recipe from Papa Spuds makes a big dish but it was sooooo good.  I like their food kits and if I do anymore cooking I'll order a kit from them again.

Cloudy and chilly here but the sun is trying to peep out.

Take care, All.

We did get a bit more snow but again, nothing to worry about. Laundry blew out on the line with the stiff breeze, taking some off some off the pins but didn't put them on the ground.

Phyllis , that sounds like the perfect meal!! My friend and I stopped at a restaurant one time and ordered the Shepherd's Pie, imagine our surprise when it came and the meat wasn't hamburg but thinly sliced roast beef! No matter though as it too was delicious!!

Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh.
Shadows of the evening
Steal across the sky!

One of the old songs from my Girl Scout camping days!  I think of it every evening when my day is pretty much over.  And I sing it very quietly so no one can hear me!  I can't carry a tune in a box!

Today was a good one!  I got some things done and Cooper and I had three nice walks.  It stopped raining about an hour before he got here so we had a good day to be out!  We both took a nap when we got back from our afternoon walk and he came and woke me up and I figured out that he got me ready just in time to make his dinner.  Since he gets up very early, he also eats his supper very early.  I always wonder how he knows it's time but he's always right!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

It is a burrrrrrrrrrr cold night here & to really drop down overnight. The birds were so happy when Andy showed up to feed them & the ground critters. It was time to clean out the frig, too many things I wasn't sure how old so will have a happy opossum tonight!

Tomorrow is "clean up Shirley day". Trim hair, shower & wash hair & see if I can find some clothes that fit. I look like something the cat dragged in.

I've never had or made a shepherd's pie but sounds like my kind of food. Another day, the kitchen is cleaned & I plan to go to bed as soon as I get my jammies on.  Sweet dreams and God Bless Every Friend!

Brrr it is cold here too! No Patricia's deep cold of -18° but  -2° with a dusting of new snow.
A day of rest here, will visit the sewing room and work on my quilt for a bit.

Jane, these two furkids know when it is treat time just before news, They will start to bug you and give you the "look" as if to say don't you know what time it is.

Better get my day going.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's going to be a cold one here too.  But thank goodness, it won't be as cold as it is in Canada or Alaska!  Our low is 21º.

I'm ready for church and my son is going to pick me up and drop me off there and friends will bring me home.  Cooper will be dropped off while I'm at church and he's going to be one happy doggie when I get home!  And his "happy" makes me happy, too!

I know Spring is on it's way, because the sun was sneaking in this morning between the slats of the blinds. There's always one little opening that lets the sun hit you right in the face. Even though we're looking at spring, it's still cold - about28 this morning.
My crocus are up and flowering and this year the squirrels haven't eaten them --- yet.
Hope everyone's weather turns good and gives us some nice outside time.

Shhhh...don't tell Jane that my low this morning was plus 22. Or Amy, that my minus 18 morphed into plus 33 by day's end. :)

Animals understand time, not only by events commonly occurring around a specific time but by understanding circadian rhythms, the 24-hour cycles of a body's internal clock. Plus, they sense more than we do as we live by an artificial clock or time zone.

They understand their name and the names of other humans or animals they live with or are often around. They pick up and understand routines, such as a person picking up keys or dressing in different clothes, or even actions relevant to a regular activity, such as taking out a suitcase. This is why dogs often make good therapy dogs and good police or military dogs.

There was a case a long time ago where they were teaching sign language to apes, monkeys, and orangutans. The animals began on their own, putting words and sentences together, and the orangutans started not only doing that but teaching sign language to their young and other orangutans.

Humans have a bad habit of assuming an animal is dumb if they don't speak that human language.

Patricia our temp has had a fight to get up to 18° F at the moment and from here on in it is all downhill.  Tis very windy even though the sun is shining it is cold out.
All you have to do here is go outside and give a shrill whistle and the crows will come for their food. When I was hand milking a cow I would try and split the time so we would ease into the time change. Just like us animals are creatures of habit.

33 ,you say.....balmy weather!!!

Right now, Amy, at 1:52 pm, it's plus 34, and we're to have a high of plus 40. They promise snow all next week. My feeling of sunburnt skin is now better and not painfully dry, as are my nasal bits.

Poor Canada and the US's northeast are pummeled with strange, unseasonable cold weather.

With our ravens, no crows here; all you need to do is leave something unattended, and it's gone. They've learned to watch people ice fishing, pull up the line, and make off with the catch if the fisherman is distracted, and in parking lots, people are told to cover their truck beds, especially if they have some attractive garbage bits back there.

Good Morning, Afternoon, Whatever!  AMY told me a little bit ago that we are back!  HOORAY!!  I was so confused because I could go anywhere else I wanted to but not here and now....  HERE I AM!

First, PATRICIA, you REALLY AND TRULY don't understand the weather in Central Pennsylvania!  When March arrives it has no right to claim a season.  It should have one all it's own and it could be called "Anything Goes".  You could crawl in bed one night when it's too warm to use a blanket and you could wake up the next morning with it so cold out there you'reI looking for another pair of wool socks, some double knit long pants and three or four sweaters!  And by mid afternoon on that day you might wonder where you put your shorts!  There's just no telling what the weather will be from one hour to the next.  Just like today...When I got out of bed this morning it was 24º and right now it's hit a high of 51º.  This week they are predicting lows in the 20s and highs in the 60s.  Jack Frost and Mama Spring just keep sparring all the way through the month.  Once when I was little and I came downstairs shivering in the morning, my Dad said, "Just wait a few minutes1"

I finished up my loaf of Irish Soda Bread with my lunch this morning and on the day itself I had some of the Irish Colcannon Soup that my Irish friend at church gave me.  There were leprechauns all over the place.

I also wish I could share the Geese with you!  We have so many of them our our pond.  This pond was put in about 5 years after I moved here and it didn't take the geese long to find it!  Now, whenever I stick my head out the door, I hear them.  And if Cooper and I take a walk, I could see as many 10 V's go overhead while we are out for about 45 minutes.  I "sortof" kept track the other day when we were walking.  We took 3 walks at three different times of the day.  I heard geese every time but I saw at least 20 V's pass over...maybe more!  And the other day when Cathy was bringing me home from my Dr. Appt. we had to pass between the high school and the pond.  Since the high school was dismissing cars had to slow to 15 miles an hour.  When we saw the pond across the road I was shocked!  There were at least 200 geese on the pond!  They use the pond for night resting and the river about a mile away for hunting food!  I really love it when I get to see them resting!  I wish I could share!  It's absolutely amazing!  It makes my day when I see them!

Now I have to think about some supper!  I finished off the last I made and it's time to get going.  Cooper will be asking for his pretty soon, too.  I hope you all have a good "rest of the day".  Better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Jane, does Cooper pay any attention to the geese? I can't wait till they fly here and land on the lakes...also love it when the loons come back to the lakes.

Day is winding down cinnamons buns are good, put some in the hidley hole for you to enjoy with a glass of milk.

Have all that is to be taken to the city tomorrow ready and just need to load it in the vehicle. Phone calls made to meet up with friends and family . Now to rest...best time of the day.

Good afternoon; I've been at it again; I took four 33 gal. garbage bags to the donations table emptied them, folded clothes, sheets, and blankets, and arranged shoes, boots, and slippers in between. I had three backpacks, three wallets, and nine purses to give away. What disturbed me was that four of those purses were clones... they were that interchangeable.

I also gave away a bag filled with those colorful waxed paper grocery shopping bags and three suede or leather totes. None of these were new, and I don't know why I kept them or kept getting them! I did keep one large backpack, two purses, and two black leather totes. In our morning catchups, I've said they have permission to slap my hand if I attempt to buy any more on our shopping trips.

Jane, you're right in that I know nothing about Pennsylvania. I must have been at least through it, or perhaps not on our way driving to and from Missouri and Kansas. Most of my time stateside was spent in the northwest, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Iowa, Minnesota, and California; west, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia;  or the south, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Florida. I'm unfamiliar with the east coast or the eastern part of the midwest. I was the passenger and not the driver or navigator.

Unlike the other three temperature and geological Alaskan regions, in my part of Alaska, January, and February are generally frigid with no snow. In the last few years, they've forgotten that. March has always been warmer, with more humidity and our snowiest month. Not this year, but Mother Nature has been on a rampage! Typically, a word that no longer means much...all the snow is gone by Easter, the planting by Memorial Day, and birds begin returning in late April and May.

Post by: JaneS on March 21, 2023, 12:19:46 AM
Patricia, I'd guess you probably know as much about Pennsylvania as I know about Alaska!  That's the one state in the Union that I haven't been able to manage to visit.  Some of the others I've been a regular visitor over the years but Alaska is my one and only not able to manage a visit!  And it does look so enticing!

Now I'm off to bed!  I took a short nap after Frankie picked up Cooper at about 8:15.  Just couldn't keep my eyes open and they didn't ask me if I wanted to see the rest of the show I was watching.  Now I'm heading for the haystack.  I don't have to be up early...just ready to head for Davy's when Cathy is ready to go.  I only need a few things but I want to go myself.

AMY, have a safe trip tomorrow!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless and keep you!

Good morning..

We are off and running to the city today. We have many stops dropping off items and picking up items. Meeting up with Bri to try out the new to us fish and chip store for lunch.

Jane, thank you. Looks like weather is co-operating, dry roads and warmer temp today.

Patricia, nice to be able to declutter and pass items on to those that can use them.

Where is Jenny? Lloyd also??

Better get going ,need to pack the vehicle yet.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning; the dump trucks and graders are outside doing their thing, but it's lovely not to be awakened by them after midnight. That little snow we've received this winter is being carted off to huge piles and left to melt, a sign of early spring.

Amy, my declutter bug didn't stop there. I'm now eyeing my kitchen storage, and there's that deep cupboard over the refrigerator where appliances go to hide—and revamping,  those empty shelves in the bedroom. I have two hallway closets that I want to rearrange. Then moving into the living room, there's my desk area and a six-foot shelf unit.

Alan and Dora have settled in assisted living. It's not what they wanted nor how they see themselves, but it is what it is, and they're pragmatic. The only one who has not moved into town is Claire, who stayed with me last summer during the fires.

We had a grand day here, weather was perfect. On the way to the city  I noticed movement on the left side of the woods, a deer had crossed the road and made it safely  over. When you see one, is it the first or the last and it turned out this was the first and the second one was on the shoulder beside us, thankfully it stayed put till we got by. A truck was coming in the opposite direction and I flashed my lights at him, I noticed he did brake and  by that time the doe was out on the highway and the driver took to the other side of the road. All was well :) We travelled on only to meet another one crossing the road and she also made it to the other side.  We saw our first robin when we were in the city!! Met up with Bri and we enjoyed a fish dinner at a new to us restaurant.

Picked up our supplies and came home. Now to put our feet up and rest.

Amy, that's a big fear going either direction out of Wichita, some spots we know where to expect deer but never which way they will dart. Fish & chips sounds SO good!

Had a crazy night & day here with me looking at the clock wrong & starting my day at 1:00 am instead of the 7:00 it was supposed to be but had already swallowed the pill so went on with the to-do as directed. Then I got back up at the right time, didn't take another pill but did the vitals again & later had a call from the center in Alabama that gets the info to pass on to the people here. Kinda like Lloyd does, except his goes to the local VA, I think. Anyway, both readings were exactly what they wanted to see so got a pat on the head & then it was time for the day to start.

Got another problem, the e-mail I use in here (tisieos@*****) isn't working. Tried every which way to get in & finally a new password that didn't work so I will have to come up with a whole new e-mail address & will figure that one out when the head operates better. I really need some fast/junk food to clear my head.  ::) Think I will use gmail, have a shopping account with that but will create a new for my Friends!  :smitten:

SHIRLEY, let me know the email too.  I'm going to be trying to reach you in May or June!

Right now, I'm off to the haystack.  I'm really beat and ready for some zzzzs and Cooper will be here early tomorrow and I'm going out for lunch.  Today I made a batch of Salmon patties and some of my canned potatoes and a fried veggie.  Now I have a couple of meals ahead.  I also made a batch of "Jim's Egg Thingys" so I can freeze some to take with me to my sister's when I go there for a visit the end of this month.

Nice to "see" you home safe, AMY!  I'm glad you enjoyed your visit with Bri!  Sounds like the deer are "up and attem" in your area!

Today, I went out and I didn't hear a single goose and didn't see a single V!  It looks and sounds like they've moved on to their next stop on the trip north.  It's kind of sad!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

Many little jobs to do today after we get home from town, need to pick up meds and pay a bill. Then home to cook up hamburg for the dogs and freeze it and cut up two packages of fat  give out to the crows.

Shirley, the fish was perfect, light cripy batter and they cooked the wiggle out of it. Fries had a light dusting of ?? spice making them also very tasty.

Jane, enjoy your time out with your friends.

Patricia, they are calling for rain but said we (up north) could get a mixture of rain and or snow.

Good morning, I'm up, everyone is clean, fed, and caffeinated, and I had my morning text, call, and email session. Yesterday I finished decluttering the kitchen, first hallway closet, bedroom dressers, and shelving.

On my way to the first floor with donations, I passed by my floor's common room and saw a backpack and a small picture frame I had donated downstairs yesterday. So, I went in, added that to my stash, and put it all on the first-floor donation table.

Today, I'm contemplating my office side of the living room and possibly moving my small library to the now empty bedroom shelves, leaving only my shelf of cookbooks. My past two weeks remind me of the spring cleaning my mother engrained in us as children.

Amy, our low was plus 19, and we're forecast to be plus 41 today with partly sunny skies.

Lloyd hasn't posted since March 17th, although he or someone is looking in each day. Has someone tried contacting him?

Hello Everyfriend!  Today was a very busy day.  My friend Shirley who picked me up for lunch today, was stopping at WM on her way home and I stopped with her.  I got some things I've been thinking about and the only food I got was some Easter Candy for the kids.

When I got home, Cooper was ready for a walk so we did that and then he played in the yard while I filled the bird feeder.  After he left, I dealt with the stuff I bought and it's all put away.  After I had my supper, I took a nap while Mannix tried to get into my brain.  It didn't work!

It was a beautiful day here!  The temperature made it to 63º and is still50!  Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the mid 60s again but showers off and on!  I might not make it in here in the morning.  I have a dr. appt. at 9 and Cooper arrives a bit before 7 and will need breakfast and a walk before I can get ready for the dr.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow...God bless!

Jane, you did have a busy day but I bet it was also a fun day with your friends .

Patricia, last nights supper was stuffed pork tenerlin with brussels sprouts, carrot and parsnips with raspberries and cream for dessert.Only an abundance of raspberries left as I bought 6 containers of them. Now need to come up with something for tonights supper.

Guess it's time to catch up in here!  I've been reading posts every day but our weather has bounced from below freezing to 80+º - and back again - sometimes within 24 hours. This has resulted in very gloomy days with either drizzle or high winds and is not kind to my "squeaks and creaks". So I just haven't had the energy to think of things to say.

One of our weather gurus went into a long explanation of the reason for the California weather issues (which have been - and will be - crossing Oklahoma).  He said it's because La Nina ( "the periodic cooling of ocean surface temperatures in the central and east-central equatorial Pacific" - according to Google  ;)) is over and El Nino hasn't started yet - so we're in a "neutral" time period. And that's causing all the storms.  ::)  The one that caused the tornado in L.A. is due here later today.

Shirley, my medical blood work seems to go to a testing lab in Kansas!  Sir Carson's "Significant Other" worked at a local lab that does testing for doctors. She was in charge of keeping up with incoming reports and sending results out to doctors, etc. She recently moved to be with Carson in Texas and is now working in a similar lab there.

My current life is basically the necessary Domestic Duties, reading e-books, "maintenance" medical appointments and occasional family visits. No "socializing" activities.  Ho Hum.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Good late morning; I slept in after a hard night, only awakening when my phone rang for the morning email, text, and call check-in. Then I puttered around getting everyone fed, washed, and, in my case, caffeinated.

Nothing new here to report as I have only to borrow Callie's term, domestic duties to perform. Our weather is a bit cooler, but signs of melt are everywhere.

Callie, your weather sounds similar to what Jane tells me about Pennsylvania. I also see, Jane, that my assumptions about your state's location only proved that old adage when I looked at a map earlier.

Amy, your dinner sounded terrific...I wasn't invited?

I roasted my last whole chicken yesterday and had some with sweet potatoes and cornbread muffins. Not a very fancy meal, but filling.

In case I don't get back, been a busy day trying to get the meds cut down so I don't do a melt down like yesterday. I just didn't take them today & all reading better than yesterday. The "Home Health Care" provided by my insurance & Medicare has been over the top in attentive.

Turned out my oxygen had cut off sometime durning the night & reading of mid 80s this morning.  No warning it wasn't working but did feel "funny".... not haha.  Call to the oxygen people but they didn't seem too concerned since I have a portable.  Ran the battery out on it but son broke away from HIS jobs to bail me out.  New 50' hose in the bag also had a kink so he put on the original that had been replaced in Feb.... actually dropped the nose piece in a glass of water to make sure if tank or hose.  Battery pack won't charge when in use so getting warnings about it being out & won't charge while on, that's silly since they include a car battery pack when driving. Anyway, oxygen man delivered 3 more hoses after Andy was gone.... & Andy had gone through the new ones from before & both straight from the bag had kinks that wouldn't let air thru.....   I do feel sorry for the people that don't have someone to bail them out when all goes wrong!  Guy from oxygen says "it happens & no way to know"..... and I plan to put jammies on right now in case I don't wake up until the "wee" hours.  (Pun intended.)  Didn't take any pills today so may get some decent sleep.

I will try to get organized tomorrow & open a new e-mail with gmail.... but since I don't have any (or many) phone numbers on a Wordpad, can't do anything but WILL CALL FOR ADDRESSES, yep, lost the whole she-bang when tisieos went belly up. BUT got to set up that account inbetween all the medical phone calls. So we will see what tomorrow brings. Good night (early), sweet dreams and God Bless. Love ya'll.  Tisie/Shirley

We have our taxes done and will go sign the papers and they will send them off electronically, next we had a propane fill up yesterday and will go pay that bill. Then home to do the domestic duties..oh fun!!

Shirley, hope you can get your oxegen all figured out so you can get back to feeling tickety boo. I understood your pun as Babe thought she should go out at 3:30am.

Patricia, I need to start from scratch for supper tonight. What are "we" having??

Best get going...seems the day moves faster than I at times.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I didn't get in here last night.  Frankie spent the night and we made supper together, ate it together, cleaned up together and laughed and talked until I was so sleepy I just headed for the haystack!  And I had a little bedfellow all night!  I do feel rested this morning and I have the laundry started.

The weather is in the mids(40 to 53) today an drizzles!  I can handle that!

CALLIE, it was nice to come in here and "see" you!  Come back often!

SHIRLEY, when we were kids and we'd say we felt "funny", my grandmother would always ask, "Do you feel funny peculiar or funny haha?"  I passed it on to my kids and I noticed they passed it on to their kids!

The washer just stopped.  I better go get the towels in the dryer or everything will be wet around here inside AND out!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

I have been as busy as the bees on my azalea bushes but hope it will slow down for a bit now.

Taxes are done and I have been notified that both Federal and State have been accepted.
Bank business has been dealt with and reconciled.  Other personal business has been dealt with but still waiting to receive my new car registration.  NC DMV is always slow.  Also, fixed a problem with my new Online prescription pharmacy and straightened that out.  Anything else coming in will have to wait until tomorrow.

Supposed to be sunny and nearly 90 deg. today.....crazy spring weather.

Take care, All

Just stopping by to say..Night Night Everyfriend!  I'm heading for the haystack.  Tomorrow when I'm out of the haystack and rarin' to go I have to get my recycling ready to go.  The recycling center is open the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 8 to noon and Cathy is coming by to get me and the junk sometime in the morning.

It was pretty nice today.  The rain came when we didn't want to go out anyway and when we were ready to go it was dry.  It cooperated.  And it was up in the low 50s most of the day!  My kind of day!

PHYLLIS, it sounds like you have lots of bloomers in your yard.  I'm looking forward to that!  And right now I'm looking forward to my bed pillow.  I wish Everyfriend a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow!  God Bless!

Goodnight to all.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's raining here and our plan was to take the recycling to the center this morning.  I'm thinking that's still going to be possible because all those bins are covered with just an opening to throw in your stuff.

RICK, I'm one of those who had the cataracts removed and I'd be blind if I hadn't.  Good luck with your removal!  It's worth the time and energy!

I'm not making Easter candy this year so I got the Oklahoma kids Marshmallow Peeps.  Do you all know that they originated in Pennsylvania?  I think it's a good candy for me to substitute for my own...which also originated in Pennsylvania!

I'm all ready for my daughter when she shows up.  I hope she doesn't mind a quick trip to the UPS place so I can get the Peeps "flying"!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

P.S. AMY, I wonder if it's raining the whole way from your place to mine!

Guess you are really lucky to find Peeps at all.  There is such a shortage around here.  Most places where you most always bought them, either don't have any or just the yellow chicken ones.  I did see a better variety when I shopped in Albertson's/Tom Thumb.  They had all kinds and colors!  Speaking of this shopping trip, I rarely go there as it's a little bit further from home than my Kroger store.  However, TT had some digital coupon specials that called my name (lol).  While wandering the vast aisles, there was a lovely lady offering tasty samples of Ritz Toasted Chips.  She mentioned the brand new flavor, "Everything", which she said is like an everything bagel.  So I tasted one sample, and went back for another.  Then I bought a bag of them.  Went home and nearly decimated the bag.  The "Everything" is Onion, Poppy Seeds, Garlic and Sea Salt.  Eat one chip and you're absolutely hooked.  The bag says "great for dipping" but wouldn't you know I didn't have any dip, or makings for it, on hand.  Will have to go to the store and get me some Spinach Artichoke dip.  Wow, I may have to buy another bag of these things when I go back to the store. Just an FYI, they now have the Everything Bagel seasoning in bottles/jars so you can inundate your bagel yourself, that is, if you like seasoned bagels.

Our weather here seems to be similar to Jane's. I guess we are not that far away. Can't wait for those April flowers.

Tome - Those Ritz Everything Chips - In a bag, box, or what?  Are they like potato chips?  I'll have my son pick some up when he goes out.

Rammel, they're in a bag.  Says Ritz at the top, then down a bit, says "Toasted Chips" then down near the bottom, in a blue rectangle, it'll tell you what flavor they are, i.e. "Everything"  Hope this makes it easier for your son to find.

Also, you mentioned him getting some kind of Peanut Butter.  My Kroger just posted a coupon for .50 off "Peanut Butter & Company".  Is this the one he gets for you?

I don't recall mentioning Peanut Butter, but my brain doesn't recall lots of things lately. But I probably did because that is the one he gets and I like. The label says it has white chocolate in it. Love it (and almost any peanut butter).

Good description of the Ritz - thanks.

Ah, peanut butter!  I like it on toasted bagels, toaster waffles, toasted English Muffins (with jelly or preserves).  And the plain ole PB&J.
Sometimes just a spoonful!

Tome and Rammel,  the grocery store I use has Ritz Toasted Chips in these flavors:  Veggie, Sour Cream/Onion, Cheddar, BBQ, Salt & Vinegar and Cream Cheese/Onion/Potato/Wheat.  Didn't see any labeled "Everything" but will try at least one of these!

Re: Peanut Butter...  when I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic I consulted a Diabetic Dietician who put me on what I call a "managed carbohydrate food plan" (not a diet).    My count kept dropping too low in the mornings so she said I needed more protein for breakfast and suggested peanut butter on my toast. Yummy!
Have never heard of any with white chocolate but, if I can find it, I'll bet I can work it into the carb count!!!!  ;D
EDIT:  I did find it but at Target - not the grocery store.  They also have that brand with Dark Chocolate.   And it only has 11 Carbs in a serving!  I can manage that! :)

Hello Everyfriend!  Well!  These postings weren't for me!  Since my facial surgery, I can't eat all those great crunchy snacks...not even potato Chips whick have been my love and my downfall most of my life!  And I never did really like peanut butter in anything but a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!

I lucked out tonight!  I inherited an overnight bedfellow!  Frankie went out with her friend tonight and it would have involved driving 15 miles home in the dark with liquor in her system so she's playing it smart and spending the night with her friend and get Cooper!

And we're ready to hit the haystack early tonight.  I think he already went and I'm following pretty soon.  So I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

I've spent an hour searching the frig, freezer, cabinets for protein to eat before going to bed and y'all have the solution right here... pb&j..........sounds good, quick & will go with one last pill for the day. My thanks!

Hugs to all, God Bless and hope weather gets better for everyone. When Andy & Pam were here we went out to the motorhome & I can't think about parting with it. I want someone to tell me they will love it as much as I have,  :'(  then I won't hate to see it go so bad.

Off to bed early, get up at least by 5:00am to have a piece of toast & take the blood pressure pill so I can wait for an hour to take my vitals that go to Alabama to be analyzed & reported back to my doctors & home health nurses. I'm glad to have all this help but wears an old body down.

Rick, my cataract surgery was scheduled to have a shot that let me stay awake but when I could feel the little knife & told to doc I wasn't sure I could sit still enough, she said, "you can feel that?" and I replied, "I can feel that". My daughter was in the room at that point & anesthesiologist brought in to which my daughter told him in her best boss attitude, "don't give her a third what you give NORMAL people.... he did & she told me later she pointed out I was already snoring. The 2nd eye they just knocked me out. If they had told me what the medicine was (drivative of novacaine) I could have told them that novacaine never worked on me. My son also has had his done, totally different type surgery. Just about everyone I've ever talked to had no problems, good luck with yours.  Oh, those toasted Ritz are SO good, even the plain ones. Have not seen the "all" kind...

Oh, Jane, I didn't realize your surgery was "so invasive" I guess you'd call it. It seems we get chipped at & lose parts the older we get. Know we must be satisfied with what we do have & not whine (like I do) about the changes.

The "Everything" Ritz is a "brand new flavor", per the lady giving out samples, and samples were going so well, I went to the shelf she pointed me to, and there were only a very few "Everythings" left.  I know I shoulda bought two! FYI, they had NONE of the B-B-Q flavor.

Good Morning!  I have to get my coffee down and go get dressed and take Cooper for a walk and then get ready for church.  Gonna be a busy morning!

SHIRLEY, the surgery wasn't "invasive".  It's just in a very small place and what they did makes it hard to eat crunchy stuff.  And it also left me with no back teeth on the bottom.  I'm so happy for the good part that I'm willing to put up with the uncomfortable part!

It's supposed to be sunny and up in the high 50s by noon today!  I'll take that!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning; I've moved on to more decluttering, including on the computer. Not much else is happening here, although the weather is gearing up for one last blast, "From 6:00 AM (AKDT), March 26, until 6:45 AM (AKDT), March 27

Summits could have west winds of 20 to 30 mph. There will be a chance of freezing rain tonight and Monday along the Steese, Elliot, Richardson and Parks Highways, and in Fairbanks as well. Any freezing rain that falls is expected to be less than one tenth of an inch, but could make roads very slippery Snow is expected to move south into Fairbanks and Denali on Monday and continue into Tuesday. It's time to hit the haystack!  My eyes have already entered the "clunk-shut" mode and do not want to look at anything.

I've been watching the news about the explosion at the chocolate factory in Sout Eastern PA.  They're still looking for two missing workiers...at least they were the last I heard.  I said a prayer for all of them.  What a horrible thing to happen!

AMY, sit tight and wait for Mr Melty to show up!  You've done enough shoveling!

PATRICIA, I hope your Spring shows up soon.  You've had enough of winter blowing around!

Frankie picked up Cooper around 4 p.m and she gave him a bath before they left.  This time I didn't think he smelled bad but I always like it when he smells REALLY good!  Tomorrow she doesn't work until 11:30 so I'll have a lazy morning.

I had to use up my potatoes today so I mad a pan of scalloped potatoes and a small "2 tater", pan of baked sweet tater wedges.  Then I threw in some chicken nuggets to go with them so I had dinner today and I'll have lunch and dinner tomorrow!

Our temp was up to 59º this afternoon and is supposed to be in the 50s and 60s all week!  I do believe Spring has sprunk!

Now I'm off to the haystack!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

Today, will pick up dog food and work around home. I have started another quilt and I am curios on how it will turn out so will work on that.

Today is cleaning day!  I had my shoes off for a while yesterday and the floors definitely need to have a visit from Mr. Vac!  And some of the need to see Mr. Mop, too!

I'm off to the races!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Yesterday, late afternoon, my energy ran out, so I retired to my Kindle and finished two spy thrillers before sleeping. Another exciting day.

Rammell, went back to the store and got the Peanut Butter & Company PB.  I picked the one with White Chocolate.
Oh my word, That jar certainly won't last me a month or two! Krogers didn't the new Ritz chips.  Guess I should be glad of that, won't have to spend another $3.49.  Speaking of food, my good neighbor came today and brought me 2 slices of pizza (for my lunch, she says) and a whole Rotisserie Chicken to make meals of for the rest of the week!  Another friend called me and invited me to go to a movie with her (she's seen it, and says it's wonderful) and thought of me.
So on Thursday, we will be going to the matinee of "The Lost King"  What a day, and I have been Blessed.  Hope your neighbors are taking such good care of each one of you!

I'm hoping my son will take me to Target on Thursday and I can find the PB with chocolate.  2 of my grandchildren are celiacs and I had found a cookie recipe that takes 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg and a teaspoon of vanilla.  Mix well, make balls and bake at 350º for 10 minutes. That's it!
Can't wait to try making it with the chocolate flavored PB.

A neighbor's mail was put in my box today and she invited me in when I took it over to her.  We had such a nice visit.  Made my day!

Those look great but Grands cant have anything with flour and I rarely bake for them any more. So I was thrilled to find the recipe without any.

It's 8:09 pm, and the storm started punctually at 8 pm. First, we had rain; then, the wind arrived, bringing snowflakes. Now it is wind-driven rain and snow.

Since we're not part of the S.E. Alaska (Ketchikan, Alaska holds the record of the most rain in the U.S.); Washington, Oregon trifecta of wet climates and rain, our weather does not go down to the gulf and possibly to California. Our weather follows a lateral path either from Siberia, Alaska's Interior, and onto Canada's Yukon Terrority, or it may start in Canada, go through us, and go on to Siberia.

So, I don't think it will eventually get to Amy, but I suppose it's possible as she's also further north.

Good morning..

Starting out at 18° and it will race to a high of 40°. A catch up day here will little annoying jobs that need done.

Jane, I think your geese made it up here, last night  I let the dogs out side and I could hear them on the lake. What a racket they were making!

Patricia, that is what we had the other day! They are calling for rain here tomorrow.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  AMY, the geese are definitely all gone from here.  The pond is empty.  I'm glad to hear they made it North!  We have peepers and chirpers in every bush now.  I can even hear them with all the windows closed!  I think Spring has arrived and Summer isn't far behind!

I'm going down to my sister's for a little visit beginning on Thursday and coming back home on Tuesday.  If I don't post it's just because we're chattering up a storm!

Now I have to go get dressed and take Cooper for a walk.  He spent the night with me and he sure is a cuddler!

You all are making me wish I like PB.  That was the one thing I had to force myself to eat when I was in Girl Scouts and even when I was a Girl Scout Leader.  A leader can't even say she doesn't like a camping staple.  She just has to eat it!  Now I don't have to.

Guess I better go get dressed and get The Cooper Snoop out for his morning outing.  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning from a slightly cooler Interior at plus 22, heading for a high of only plus 31. Today will be sunny and cool, while Wednesday and Thursday will return to the plus thirties and forties.

Last night we had rain, wind, and blowing snow off the mountain passes from eight to two or three in the morning. However, only an inch of snow remains, melting into a pool of ice and slush. I spent yesterday decluttering, organizing, and cleaning my computer.

By seven pm, my eyes were so dry and tired that I went to bed and napped until this morning, other than a couple of phone calls. I will return to the job this afternoon, reorganizing the new PSP graphics I downloaded from Bubble.

I'm heading for the haystack as soon as I finish up here.  I have an early Cooper in the morning! and then a "catch-up" dr. appt. at 1:15 tomorrow.  And I have to get my stuff packed for my trip to my sister's.  She lives about 60 miles from me and Cathy will be driving me there on Thursday morning!

Today was a beautiful day!  The temp reached 60 degrees and stayed there for about 2 hours this afternoon.  Right now it's 40 and heading back for a low of 31 in the middle of the night and then back up in the high 50s tomorrow afternoon!
Spring is Sprung!
The Grass is riz!
I wonder where the posies is?

Actually, there are Daffodils all over the place and tulips are poking their heads out of the ground!    Spring really has SPRUNG!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

I'm here, just worn out from activities today. Well, hardly call the trips back & forth through the house active but trying to keep the little hose carrying oxygen untangled is quite a feat. Long day & doing just baking & cooking tomorrow will be a treat.  Told all the home health people I'm taking the day off to cook & quit thinking about the future surgeries (or not). It's bedtime even tho I got a nap in this afternoon. Hope Lloyd didn't try to get his motorhome on the road.  When is your cataract surgery?

Sweet dreams to all and God Bless. My daughter wants me to take a ride around to see all the trees in bloom right now.  I don't have either of my Cleveland pear trees anymore so not seeing anything in this neighborhood blooming. Exciting times, huh?  Hope to get a couple photos to send Bubble to post if she will.

If all goes well, in a couple of weeks. The 13th I believe.
The trees are just budding up here. We need another week or so till some blooms.

Good morning..

I am taking my friend in for a Dr appointment, we have to be on the road shorlty after 7am. Really need to watch for deer now as they are moving about  more now. May do a bit of shopping but will keep an eye on the weather as later on  in the day we have rain and snow on the menu! :(
There are still little annoying jobs left and they will just have to wait for  another day. I did squeeze in some sewing yesterday.

Cut up some fat and threw it out for the crowsto enjoy. Once when I looked out I could see the pair of them in the neighbours yard with "something" in their beaks........then it dawned on me. When I was looking after Rex I would gentley pull the loose  hair out and leave it on the ground, neighbour called it "plucking my dog". They were using this to put in their nest!

Sat for tea at 10.00 and played Ricks drum music(love drums) and Jesse was by my side. All went well till the fella started to whistle and Jess was cocking his head back and forth looking for him!!

Jane ,our daffys are well under the snow, bit by bit it is going though. Took Kyle to pick up more lumber to build a trug yesterday and it may be the last . He goes at it too hard and pays for it in the evening..

Lloyd has been in ,just hasn't posted.

Patricia, we have a lot more snow that you!!

Better gather all that I need...

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I've been up and attem for awhile now.  Cooper has arrived and is waiting for a walk.  I need to get my shoes on and take him and then get a few things done before I get my shower and get ready for a eye dr. appt. at 1:15.

I have to get my stuff ready for my visit with my sister.  We'll be taking off for thee tomorrow morning and I'm not half ready!

SHIRLEY, enjoy your day off from worries.  Cooking will take your mind off them.

AMY, have a safe trip wherever it is you're going!

RICK, your surgery is in my prayers!

Hello, LLOYD.  We see you peeking in!

The weather is supposed to hit 56º by mid-afternoon!  I can handle that!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

RAMMEL:
I'm glad to hear you are going ahead with your cataract removal.  If your result is similar to mine, you are going to feel like a thin smear of vaseline was removed. "The trees are just budding up here. We need another week or so till some blooms."  Look at those blooms now and again after your cataract correction...See if you notice a difference.

Good morning. Nothing new here; I'm still involved in decluttering my apartment and computer, and I'm finding lots of odd stuff in my files!

I'm having cataract surgery sometime this summer, but I also have a lot of "floaters" that need to go.

Amy, we're told to expect more snow Thursday into Friday; it's all ice out there presently.

Lloyd was looking in last time too.

Hello Everyfriend!  I'm going to bed early tonight and getting up early tomorrow!  I have to pack up my computer to take with me so this is my last entry until I come home from my sister's house next Tuesday.

PATRICIA, you are so diligent!  I bet your apartment is the neatest I've ever seen...if I could see it!

I had a good visit with the eye Dr. today!  He's going to do another in-office minor surgery on both eyes to help me retain moisture in them.  They get so dry all the time that sometimes thy just bother me.  He says it will feel better and keep them moist.  Let's hope so!

Now I'm off to the haystack.  If I decide not to take the computer to my sister's, I won't be back with you until Tuesday.  If I take it, I'll see you sometime late tomorrow.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

Good morning...

Yesterday was a fun day. After the eye appointment my friend and I hit some shops, including a fabric store. Weather held out until the way home and then we ran into rain and then blowin snow. We made it home here in good time before the "mess" started. She ran into whiteouts on the way to her home! High winds danced about here till it took out the power or about 4 hours.

Today is anyones guess , so many things to do, as next week will be a busy week.

Jane, have fun at your sisters..

Rick, I also liked JD...

Patricia, both my friends are so happy they had the surgery..one used to wear glasses since a child and now only puts a pair on if she wants to read. The other put her glasses on (as always) to work on the computer and it was all fuzzy,.took the glasses off and  the screen wasclear as a bell!!

Better get in gear.

Safe travels Janie.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Stopping by to say........"Good night, sweet hearts, till we meet again........"  Another good day but ain't like the old days, for sure.  Hope to get out to water flowers tomorrow and need to check on a dogwood tree that is still in a monster clay pot until I decide where to plant, gotta protect it from this KS wind. I usually water anything outside at least once a month during the winter & it only got water one time for at least 4 or 5 months. Have hoses disconnected for the winter. Been seeing some migrating birds going through to their northern summer homes. The pyracantha down the street is in bloom, mine died a few years ago. Don't remember what birds would come by & clean off all the berries in one day, but think it was the cedar waxwings.

Sweet dreams & God Bless, love y'all.  Shirley/Tisie

Good morning dear friends~~~  First of all, Amy I should have played your link before taking my vitals, made my heart beat slowed down to kinda normal. Thanks.

HOWDY, JANE & SIS  You may need to put a leash on Jane to take her for a walk since she doesn't have Cooper while there. (Did she sneak him in the suitcase?)

I got up bright & early to take my BP pill an hour before vitals. Did that on an empty stomach ONE time & decided that doesn't work for me. That means eating half a breakfast very early & another whenever.  So, back to bed for a couple hours. Got a new batch of French toast made plus hard boiled 8 more eggs.... they fill in the protein when nothing else sounds good.

Have a great day, still windy here.

Good morning. We're starting low this morning at plus 13, Amy. We have a grey slushy day with dirty snow piles sinking into themselves. We were supposed to have another big storm of snow, wind, and rain, but it never made it out of the passes. We won't see any green until late April with our late snowfalls. Now they're saying snow later this evening and tomorrow.

CC, it's my understanding that blood pressure is different for everyone, and even many doctors don't pay attention if you're in the so-called normal ranges. I have low blood pressure and have learned to watch for signs when it dips precariously.

Jane, I hope you're having a good time with your sister and don't miss Cooper that much. Who's taking over while you're away?

Amy, I can not eat bacon, and on rare occasions, I will use turkey bacon. One time at a friend's, I was served sausage bacon which I had neither heard of nor had before. It's precisely the way it sounds; greasy meat steamrolled flat. My favorite breakfast was two eggs over easy, sausage or bacon, biscuits, and gravy. It was a standard Sunday after-church breakfast when I was growing up. It's been years since I've had that.

No geese here; we'll see them in mid to late April if the weather returns to normal.

I'm still amid computerized and office decluttering, and Bubble has already begun posting Passover and Easter graphics in the card shop. It seems the more I do, the more I find yet to do...
