Marsgal, you are certainly an early bird.  I had to get up by 6am for many years and was so glad when I retired that I could stay up late and sleep late.  I am definitely not an early bird.

We had a thunderstorm and rain last night but this morning everything was bright, sunny and fresh.

Earlier I could hear the flyboys getting in their hours of flying but now all is quiet.

Jenny, good to hear from you while you are traveling.  Best of luck to your son and family getting used to a new area.  As a military wife I moved a lot.  I've had 6 driver's licenses, including international and Guam, so I know what it is like moving to a new area.  It sounds like they are looking forward to this move.

Marilyne, you never sound grouchy.  All of us have those bad days and in our later years some bad nights.  I'm going to post in the book area when I leave here.

have a good day everyone.

Marilyne

Hello again:  Adding to my last message, since there were a few things that I forgot.

shirleyn - I thought about you this morning when I ate a delicious and fluffy cinnamon muffin, for my breakfast! You can add that to your list of sweet breakfast goodies!  That and a glass of Sun Tropics Guava juice, will keep me happy until mid afternoon.  Hope your back is healing well, and will be okay soon.

Jean - I didn't see your message, so we must have been posting at the same time.  I'll check the Library~Bookshelf when I finish here, and see what you had to say.  Hoping your or someone has watched the docu=drama about Adolphe Eichmann?  Also any recommended books will be welcome!

Sandy

I just got my second  Covid shot...

Hooray Hooray,  I am done for now....  Two more weeks and
I will be feeling safer than I have this past year.

But still of course, I have to wear my masks and be
sure to wash my hands, and be very grateful that my kids
were here to help me stay save.

I am truly blessed.

Best wishes to all

Sandy

Marilyne,  just had a messaging chat on Facebook with Miss Ellen.  "The Amazing Mrs. Maisle" had called to see if she was available to be an extra again.  She said she had her fitting today for the "shoot" next week.

She also posted a video of her solo at an in-person dance class; she said it was the first time in over a year she'd had on heels.  :)  So things are gradually beginning to happen again - although I doubt she'll make it onto Broadway any time soon.  Maybe a Fall gig in a community production like she did in 2019.

Hoping the weather clears  today so Jenny/family can enjoy the beauty of eastern Oklahoma leading into the Ozarks in Arkansas.  Springdale is in a resort area - lots of lakes and mountains (although nothing like the Rockies!).
I went to summer camp near there for two years while in Jr. High - and went back to work as a counselor one summer while I was in college.

Dil will be 60 in a few weeks. Son isn't far behind. If you figure out how that happens, please let me know.  ;D

patricia19

Good morning. Like Sandy, I had my second shot today, and that's what's new for today.

Marilyne

Not at all busy here in B&T the morning. :(   I hope others look in and post during the day today?

Sandy and Patricia - Good that you both got your vaccinations over and done with.  There is a shortage of vaccine here in California, so lots of complaining going on from those who are awaiting their second shot.  Poor beleaguered Governor Newsom, is getting blamed, and of course it has nothing to do with him at all.   Looks like he will be facing  a recall election, before the end of the year.

Nothing on tap here today, except a quick trip to the corner Walgreen's, to select a card for Brad, to go with his birthday present.  We'll be going to their house tomorrow afternoon, for a short visit and a piece of birthday cake.  As I've mentioned in the past, they have a comfortable covered outside deck, with heat lamps to keep us warm if the day is cold. I hope the two grandkids will be there - haven't seen them since our last visit there before Christmas.

HELLO from ARKANSAS 🌳 The sun is shining and it is getting nice and green here! The kids new home is wonderful......Right on the golf course where Mark works.  A member just bought this place and was planning to rent it, so Mark jumped on it right away.  They plan to buy a home but this place will be great for them and they can take their time looking for just the right place.

We were SO happy to arrive here yesterday afternoon.  Even though we took it pretty easy and stopped a LOT, that was a long drive.  Everything went well, aside from my state trooper incident, and we are thankful for a safe journey.  We had some very strong winds and quite a bit of rain, but the treating looking clouds thankfully did not turn into a tornado like the storm projectors indicated they could.

CAllIE, so happy for Sir Carson getting the job in Bentonville after he graduates.  How crazy that we will both have family living n NW AR!  Look forward to seeing Ms Maisel again....and a quick glance or more of Miss Ellen.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES to your son, Brad.  Happy you will get to spend some time with him on HIS day!

There is so much going on and I do not want to loose this post, so I will get it posted.

Have a good rest of your day.

My longstanding and loyal friends...
...ambulance took me to hospital day before yesterday ( Thursday ) took three plus hours before arriving, had to stay in overnight till something was made to happen, the purpose of why i was taken in...Allowed home mid-day yesterday, better, but still not right...I know this will be the starting, not the ending...what a horrible horrible day my Thursday was....especially from 6.am Thursday to Friday 3.am..Is anyone aware you can have a constipation blockage that get stuck at the end and non stop diarrhea both at the same time that lasts for over 24 hours, no, nor did i know this could happen, trust me, it can, it is called " overflow, faecal impaction," the blocked large stool is very very painful, one can not sit...Oh and then my constant Multiple Sclerosis bladder emptyings along with the non stop diarrhea, those poor male hospital nurses were continually taking me to the loo in a wheelchair, end of bed to chair, and as soon as i stood up, out it came into my pad and i had to sit down on it to be wheeled to the loo....some having to clear-tidy me up, ( forget dignity ) then another fresh very large pad and fresh hospital knickers...Oh and on one occasion i had caught my arm when i was inside the loo by myself, had to press the alarm, male nurse came in straight away, thank heavens he did as i had accidently pulled out one of the three dangling tubes attached to the needle inserted inside my arm ( in the place i thought they were just taking a blood sample ) came fast running out into large blobs of blood on the floor...thank heavens he was outside and came in to put that dangling open phial back in straight away, this stayed in my arm the whole time i was in hospital..Medical staff told me it was the painful trying to push the blocked ( told it was a large piece of constipation blockage after fingers felt it up there ) and as every time i tried pushing it out before i got taken into hospital, it was affecting my MS head, balance and the fact i literally could not walk..So many tests were done on me, I now hold the signing off medical doctors document of the things that were done....Oh and the two hour wait once being brought in, in a corridor queue, long line of beds of the ambulance drivers who brought us in, a good two hour wait as our beds are moved along the line...at least three or four times i got the ambulance crew to wheel me to the loo, the room i was wheeled through to where the nearest loo was, was literally jam packed with staff and us new arrivals, so much going on..Only when i eventually got wheeled in there i was made to put on a hospital gown..then wheeled from corridor to corridor, room to room while the tests- procedures were carried out before moving me to the long room with other patients i was to eventually stay in...Told medical staff this could have been happening next Monday, on my 70th Birthday after medical staff came with forms and questions...
Eventually this faecal lump came out 3.am ( still having continual diarrhea ) Friday morning after a few hours previously a pessary was eventually placed inside my rectum and i was given a glass of several sachets of a liquid to drink...i was so so relieved when it finally came out, i was getting frustrated as to what if this never happens-what next, surgery, as told the pessary should work straight away, it didnt, took several hours later..
Now i am terrified to eat, even though the diarrhear is now calmed, the bloated stomach is not and the feel of my bowel when i push when sitting on the loo seat feels like this could soon happen all over again...another blockage....

Marilyne

Dear Jackie -  So sorry to read about your emergency room visit, and the reason for why you were taken there.  What a horrible situation for you to endure.  Not only the pain and misery, but the ongoing embarrassment.  I have heard of others having this problem. I will take it to heart, as I know it could happen to any of us.   I hope you're feeling better today, and that you will never have to go through it again.

Shirley

Jackie, I buzzed around early this morning & read your message but was so shocked by your situation I had to think it over before commenting. I've always heard that "if you think YOU have it bad, look around and you will find someone having a worse day". My dear friend, I think your week has topped it all! Seriously, my sincere sympathy and do hope this never happens again for you.

On the other hand, you do know I have a warped sense of humor so don't get mad at what went through my head... please.... Somewhere I learned the meaning of the word "crap"... and what it meant to have a "crappy day".  Okay, to put a smile on your face, admit it, you had a crappy week! Think about it & maybe it will get funnier???  Not sure how that translates to proper English.... VULGAR SLANG noun 1.something of extremely poor quality.2.excrement, (I found it all too common among the GIs when we lived in England). I'll bet most in here had a little grin on their faces at the pun.

Bright sunny morning, eye still icky & feels like the other eye is sympathizing as it is icky this morning. These BP pills are making me so sleepy I may just sleep out the rest of the time until next eye surgery (4/5). I'm really not a very patient person, my mother in heaven is probably shaking her head with a "tsk, tsk, Shirley, it isn't THAT bad". Flowers are popping open & everything turning green, I sent a couple photos to Bubble last night to show y'all. She does such a beautiful job posting. Sure am grateful for auto-focusing on cameras. I remember the sad feeling when my 35mm photos started coming back out of focus, thought it was the end of my picture taking. Hopefully with cataract surgery I will be able to paint from these photos again!  Wishing all a super spring week end. Jackie, a happier week ahead!  Shirley

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone from
the warming up (a bit) rocky coast of Maine.

Sorry to hear that Jackie has been having such
difficult problem.

I received my 2nd Covid Vacination  and have
not had many side effects from it,  except for
a sore arm and a foggy brain.

I was lucky enough to prevent myself from taking
a terrible fall at the thrift store
down stairs...  I miss stepped on two very
high steps and some how was able to prevent myself
from falling down on the stairs/floor.  I have  been
reliving my almost catastrophic fall
and realize now that I must always take my
rollator with me to prevent that from happening
to me again.

I AM  ok.  Glad that my Covid shots are
over and done with and very grateful that I
did not get hurt in a potential devastating fall.

Today is a very good day.

Sandy

Sandy, did they tell you about the vaccination not being at full effect until two weeks have passed? I was lucky, with all my messed up past month, not to have had a reaction to either shot.

Sandy

Yes they did tell me that..   I plan on wearing my mask
and being very very careful for a very long time. The mask wearing  has
also helped people from catching other things, like the flu and
very bad colds and upper respiratory illnesses.

I think that I am my own worst enemy.. sometimes!!

And my guess is that it has always been that way!!!

Good Afternoon,

Jackie,  so sorry about the issues that put you in hospital - and the chaotic situation there.

Shirley,  b/p meds are supposed to "calm you down"!!!  I agree with your Mother.  :smitten:

Sandy,  hooray for getting the shots over and done with.  I intend to wear a mask if I'm in out in public and agree that they are useful for other purposes. Finally dawned on me that wearing one when I walk to the mailbox or sit on the patio will keep tree pollen from bothering me.

Jenny, given our Leadville connection, it is interesting that our sons will be living in the same area.  However, although Carson will be based in Bentonville, he may be sent to work on projects Caddell has going in other states.
They're about 2 1/2 hours from Branson, MO and family has commented how nice it would be if Miss Ellen got a gig in a show there. Don't think that's in her plans right now, though.

I need to work on the stack of papers setting on top of my shredder but am more interested in an e-book I'm currently reading.  At least, I have a choice!  ;)

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere is having an Enjoyable Day.

Thank you so much my friends, Callie, Sandy, Shirley and Marilyne...
...i was so so ill and so frightened...Yes Shirley a very "crappy " day, which i do not wish to be repeated, ( i cannot. nor will, ever get " mad " with you )... well not repeated in my local hospital..also £30, was taken from inside my purse that came along with me...at some point i had to hand it over ( the handbag ) to a female hospital staff in a busy part where the contents were not checked in front of me before handing my bag back to me sometime soon-later, which i only found out later should have been done, so later when on being discharged ( with talking of taxi to home ) i had mentioned it had gone from my purse the day before, and that i did not have the money for taxi, and i know it was definitely in my purse inside my handbag, it was always in there for future taxi trips...I was informed that when checked the person had written £5 contents down but the contents weren't checked or verified with me ( i didn't even know what day it was once inside this hospital, let alone what was being done, what was going on, not even why i was asked for my handbag to be checked, ) i just trusted what was asked of me to do...all i know my bag with purse inside came with me in the ambulance and £35 was and had been for a long time tucked inside of it, but, i never took the matter up as i had no proof...Someone who supposedly checked it i was told wrote down £5, for all i know this person pocketed the rest, £30 a £20 note and a £10 note..all that was left was the £5 note, of course the money may have gone missing before my bag-purse got checked and possible by then as this person wrote down £5, it would then be that this person was writing the truth of what was left of its contents that she saw...This is a busy NHS rather rough looking very multi-national hospital staff...I am not tarnishing all staff as untrustworthy, as most of the male foreign nationality nurses, particularly the ones that done there shift in my ward, i can not complain about once i was in the bed ward, as they could not be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble, well they had their work cut out ferrying me back and forth to the loo, and i kept on apologising...I think my money went missing in the busy part, or when i was wheeled several times to the loos, whilst still in the queue ( i handed it to a female hospital staff to keep an eye on it till i came out who was waiting outside, as another staff was helping me walk in and i was clinging onto them and the other hand clinging onto the wall for balance, ) or when my bed was in the corridor waiting line queue as part i had my handbag on my legs on the bed trolley i was laying on until one of the ambulance drivers put it safely behind me in the place for items, and no bed trolleys came in behind me for the first hour or so and when they were they were moved elsewhere, plus each trolleys ambulance driving couples stayed with each trolley until each trolley got wheeled in to the busy room....We live and learn, and let this be an expensive lesson to me, and just hope and pray our God sorts them out and deals with them His way...

£20 - $27.74
£10 - $13.87
£30 - $41.61

It is almost 9pm, and no bowel movements today, i have eaten..I will be on tenterhooks until i do one...and do it with no blockage, i must somehow get my prescription to a chemist to get hold of the suppositories the discharging Dr-Consultant prescribed for me, if or when needed...which i hope will be never...

FlaJean

Jacki, I just saw your posts.  I'm so sorry.  There are several things you can use for constipation but I notice that the doctor did prescribe something.  it's important to watch your diet and eat properly.  I know every thing you do is so much harder with MS.  My son not only has MS but ulcerative colitis and has to watch his diet carefully.  I just hope and pray that you are feeling some better.

Vanilla-Jackie

Jean ( FlaJean )
...i understand and appreciate you have some knowledge of MS and what it entails...sending a thankful ((( hug ))) to you...

Jackie - I hope you're feeling much better today?   Good to see you posting again, even if the circumstances were not the best.  Sorry you're missing some money, but there is a possibility it may yet be found and returned to you.

We had a nice time celebrating our son's birthday yesterday.  There were only seven of us there . . .  son and dil, the two grandkids, and granddaughter's boyfriend.   We stayed outside on the deck, which was comfortable with the heat lamps.

Today is sunny, but very cold North wind blowing.   I'm not planning on leaving the house at all, but will stay inside, and sit here at the computer, or in front of the TV.  I have no idea what we'll have for dinner tonight, but I'll come up with something?   ::)   I'll be glad when the day is over, and tomorrow will start a new week.

Callie - I'm happy to hear that Miss Ellen, will have a small part again, in Mrs. Maisel.  Being an "extra", is a good way to get noticed - or so I have heard. I guess Broadway, television, and movies, will all be starting up again . . . and not a moment too soon for me!

A SUNDAY HELLO from Springdale Arkansas on this beautiful first day of spring 🌱 🪴 🌺

We went to a lovely park and Jonah had so much fun playing! I am soaking up all this nice sunshine today as storms are moving in tomorrow ☔️

JACKIE, I am so sad to read about this awful health issue you have just endured🤦 😩. You must have been so scared to be in so much pain.  Thankfully it seems you had good care, but how sad that anyone would steal money from someone in the hospital😡. Shame on them. I, too, hope God will deal with them. I hope a pray the worse is over and you do not have to ever deal with this again. <<HUGS>>

CALLIE, on thing I noticed right away is how close this location is to Branson.  I have always hoped to visit there some day.  It would be SUPER if Miss Ellen could get a gig in Branson 😘

Our youngest son had a scare yesterday morning just after 8 AM.   A man in a pickup truck fell asleep driving into his cul de sac and mowed down the tree in his front yard.  There are several young children on the street and thankfully he did not hit one of them.  He was not drunk or on drugs as far as they could determine....he said he was tired and just fell asleep at the wheel after working all night and coming to a second job at a home on the street!

ENJOY the rest of your Sunday💐

Well my milestone 70th Birthday yesterday was just going to ( via, travel mobility scooter ) the post office to cash money from my bank that was taken from my purse-bag inside the hospital, then opposite to the chemist with my hospital prescription to collect my pessary's...then back in my room alone after i knocked the door of my neighbour opposite to hand over small box ( his 91st birthday ) cup - cakes i quickly picked up when i was out that i spotted in the shop window as i was passing...

I did not want to venture out as i was feeling so so ill...was unsteady, shaking and fumbling...part Multiple Sclerosis, the gut, part stomach - bowel issues...I know i have not seen the last of this, my bowel movements issue....

It was also my opposite corridor, 91 year old males, birthday yesterday, same day as mine...i got a lovely birthday card put through my door the previous day from both him and his wife, this was the only birthday card i received...

Just emptied my bowels somewhat, but not fully, and nothing like normal, ( my 4th day ) for the first time, since coming out of hospital...but the pain and MS stomach bloat is still very much there...

I am in the process of hand-washing ( no machine ) kitchen is a tiny box...my loo pedestal mats that got messed up before being taken to hospital...

Make the most of your day friends, it is the only March 23rd 2021 we will ever have, never to be repeated again...

Jenny...
....thank you and bless you friend...Sadly i heard on our tv news early this morning of another Colorado shooting...said there was one last week...
Quoting my late father " there are mores crazies " out " there, than there are in "

...and we never know where, or when, they will next crop up....

HAPPY BELATED 70th BIRTHDAY 💐 JACKIE 💐
I am sorry I missed YOUR DAY❣️ This being away from home has me totally messed up as to even what the day is let alone the date! I am saddened to read that your stomach/bowel issue continues and this special day for you was less than a happy one that you so deserved to have😩😘

Yes, once again we had another mass shooting yesterday in Colorado.  Of all the mass shootings in Colorado we heard on the news that Colorado ranks 6th in the nation😩 YIKES. They did not say what the first five states are.

Sadly, last night a dear friend and her husband were in a very bad car accident on their way home to Santa Fe NM from Colorado where they were meeting with the builder of their new home.  Thankfully they are not too seriously injured but the car is totaled.  They spent the night in the hospital but are hoping to be released today and trying to arrange a way to get home.

Tomorrow we head home after our big adventure.  I will sure miss this little Jonah but it will be good to be home again.

I wish you ALL a good rest of your day.

Marilyne

Good morning everyone!  Not such a good morning, in that there are lots of terrible things going on here in the USA, that are so sad and disheartening.  :(

Jackie - I hope that today, you will start to feel better, and will be moving back to what is normal for you regarding your digestive problems.  I know everything has changed with your MS, but there are good medications available that will be able to address all of these miserable problems that are appearing.  I didn't realize it was your birthday yesterday!  Here's wishing you belated birthday greetings!

Jenny  - good to hear from you this morning.   I know you will miss Jonah, but it will be good for you  to get home again.    I was upset to see that there was another mass shooting in Colorado, and I know you are upset too!    I just don't know how all of these terrible situations across the country will be handled?  It's also a mess in Miami, Atlanta, Minneapolis, and at the border crossing in Texas.

I talked to my older daughter this morning, and I'm so pleased that she has stepped up, and is helping out at the Food Bank, in the Central Valley city where she lives.  There is an elderly Mexican woman living in the same apartment complex, and my daughter noticed that she is alone - no one there with her for a long time.  The woman is 88,  has no one to help her, and speaks very little English.  Long story short - My daughter and grand daughter have been bringing her a food box, for the past couple of weeks.  The woman has not had her Covid vaccination, so Shelley will take her there, and see to it that she gets both shots.  There are many people out there who are alone and confused, and don't know how to access the things like health care, food, etc.

Oh Marilyne, what a lovely caring daughter and granddaughter you have, our world needs a few more like them...There are those who notice yet do nothing, there are those who do not even see, then there are those who step in and make a difference to someone's life who had thought that they were invisible...

Jenny, a guardian angel was sitting next your friends on that day...

Well took a phone-call from my GP receptionist stating the hospital want my surgery to call me in to take a blood sample for them, so i have had to book a taxi, GP surgery booked for Friday...Receptionist was lovely when she picked up over the phone the state i was in with not emptying and my bloated stomach these past four days apart from the small loose amount from this morning...Said she will get a Dr to phone me stating a particular name of a male Dr that she recommended as very nice, and yes he was, he gave me his time to unload...He is making arrangements ( chemist to deliver to my door ) for several of the sachets that i was made to drink in hospital that helped to get my bowels moving, said i need to build up the amount of Movicol sachets each day, mentioning eight, i was made to drink six from a jug in hospital, then if nothing happens, he will have me back in hospital...

FlaJean

Jackie, A belated birthday greeting.  Hopefully, this new doctor will get you straightened out.

Marilyne, that was nice of your daughter to help that elderly lady.  we had rain late yesterday and most of the night.  We had sun earlier and now it is overcast.  We do get our share of rain and would be glad to share. 😊

It is very quiet here today.  No bombing this morning.  Have a good day all.

Vanilla-Jackie

Thank you FlaJean, many Doctors in this large surgery...some only spoken to over the phone...yet to come face to face with any...Jean, what was the " bombing " about? "

Well seem to be emptying, without the use of these sachets, so hopefully i shan't be seeing inside that hospital again...Although an MRI scan sometime soon will be booked by my phone consultation MS Neurology Clinician, to see my progression...Not had one ( MRI scan ) since my diagnoses at age 64, i am now 70...MS a whole lot worse now, dont know how long i can continue taking care of myself...

I have managed to secure a voluntary driver that covers our areas to collect me and take me to my GP surgery appointment tomorrow, so cancelled my booked taxi, as voluntary car scheme is cheaper per mileage, and more personal care, he comes in with you and waits, then brought home to our residential blocks car park, told him it is just for a blood sample to be done ( hospital i was in last week is requesting it ) by the nurse, so a quick in and a quick out..He was the same elderly voluntary driver who took me there before our lockdown when i had to go for my three ultra-scans...

Well at least this short outing gets me out of this building for a short while...a change of scenery...

Marilyne

Jenny -  I hope you and Bob had a nice trip back home, and that your house was warm and welcoming when you arrived?  I know you miss all the excitement and fun of being around Jonah!    Nothing like a busy toddler, to put a constant smile on your face.  Also distracts you from all the bad things and sad things going on in our country.

Jean -   as usual, our daytime temperatures are about the same, including the overcast skies.  Of course you get lots of rain in FL, whereas we are always dry and hoping for an occasional shower.

Jackie -  Good that you're feeling better today, and I hope that it continues.  I'm glad you now have a driving service that you can rely on, and a volunteer who will usually wait, and take you back home.

shirleyn -  We haven't heard from you this week?  Hoping everything is okay, and that you'll check in with us again soon?

Almost time for my dermatology appointment, so I'd better get ready and get out of here, ASAP!

FlaJean

Jacki, We live several miles away from a Naval Ordnance Base that has a bombing range, training for the pilots.  When they are bombing it can be noisy for a short period of time depending on how close to us they are flying.
