Jeanne, have you located my cousin Sheila schneider?

They live at on N Church St in Champaign

So I called Sheila and we talked for almost two hours!  We had to get caught up after almost 18 months!  It was delightful!🤓❤️🙏

Hi Gals. So busy here, just haven't posted regularly. Yesterday we went to see the 2 bdrm apt at Brookdale and loved it, so we have $ down for first right of refusal, so we'll take it when they call us. In the meantime, we are trying to declutter and spruce things up for selling. We don't have to sell before moving, but furnished places always sell better.  Melanie and Sangmin came down with awful colds last week after the little grands left, so they won't be here till a week from Sunday as they don't want to contaminate us. The new apt is much larger than the one nearby and on the first floor.

I've finished my therapy at home and haven't contacted the outside therapy for my back. I am also using a cane now rather than the walker. I used it all day yesterday and was exhausted when I got home. We didn't stay for dinner, altho we were invited.  We also spent about 2 hours visiting with our friends from HH that live there. They also have the same apt as we will get. So nice to catch up and to find out how a resident feels about everything.

John is still going full steam ahead and exhausts me just to hear him say all the things we have to do. Between my knee and my back, I'm not really enthused about work. Mel & S will help when they come, but I don't think either of the other kids will be here before we get moved out. Then they will come to see if we have left anything they want and then the rest will be auctioned.  Mary, you've been through all this, so you know what a pain it all is, but at least your 3 girls all pitched in and did things for you. Of course, it was a different situation with your John just passing.  Our kids are so scattered, it's hard for them to get here to help.

Darlene, you are so good about your walking. I wish my knee would heal so that I could get back to doing some exercise.

Jane, have fun at your Fri night gathering. The cherry thingys sound good.

Very sunny and 60 today. Quite a change.  The roofer got finished yesterday, so that was wonderful too before the realtors come next week.

Annie, where do you live? I'm in SC just south of Charlotte, NC.

Marilyn, it sounds like we're doing the same kinds of things. At least you don't have a deadline, but it's difficult anyway.

Have a nice day everyone and Sue, get in here and post!  Sharon

maryz

Sharon, doesn't it feel wonderful when a decision is made! Seems like such a weight is lifted off.  You'll love not having to do any cleaning or meal prep or home maintenance. And, for me, not having the burden of ownership was wonderful, too. (Incidentally, I have 4 daughters, not 3.  :smitten: )

Glad to hear that at least some of us are getting some walking in (like I should). Congrats to Darlene and jane. I hope Sue is okay - she usually doesn't go this long without checking in. jane, do you have her son's e-mail or phone?

I checked in on the SEC women's basketball tournament from time to time last night. The Lady Vols lost to KY last night. Hate that! I'm glad Margaret didn't get to SC to the games. I know she's disappointed.

The cleanup from the Tennessee tornadoes continues -as it will for sometime. It's really awful for those affected.  Fortunately we have't had any more rain for a few days, so that doesn't hamper the clean-up.

I'm having fun knitting stuff for my greats-to-be. I hope the parents-to-be are pleased, too, but don't really care about that - it's fun for me, in any case.

Hope ALL the Buddies have a good weekend.

I did go and get the appt.for checkup with doctor Friday. All seems to be o.k now.  I Took him card for every day in past month on BP  it had stayed in around mid 140's /70/69 He says that good place to be and called in prescription for same med. I can now just see him in 6 month instead of monthly. I will be happy with that. Just hope now no problem with getting drug from China. Or Korea..  Did a quick chest check and said to call if any problems .iwant to stay away from places with lots people at the moment.
I got double of things at the grocery store  yesterday . My pantry and freezer o.k .i could last 3 months. People had carts just loaded down with paper products. One had full cart of sanitising  stuff. Shelves were empty again. I just stickwith my vinegar, bleach.vicks etc. i think  this is going to be a problem all summer now.

I am going to be hanging  out at library. I think will put books onto my IPad to read.

Nice day here today. Will do some walking. I am outgoing to hang around library much for awhile.  May put some books on my IPad. To read..

Looks like i repeated myself thers. Will just leave it.

It is 1 pm already. I slept until 9am as I woke up at 4am and got a glass warm milk in order to go back to sleep

Mary, sorry about saying 3 instead of 4. You're so lucky to have them. It looks like lots of people are helping with the tornado damage and donating as well. So nice to see.

Jeanne, glad your BP is stable now with your current med. I think staying at home is the thing to do these days.  Sharon

Jeanne..thumbs up on BP med...which 2 are u taking..Candy

Freckles and I have been back to walking about 5 miles per day for at least the ;ast 5-6 weeks. She is losing some of the "too many Treats" weight she gained over the last few months. I am back at the gym 3 days a week that only topped for about a  month after my surgery on my foot. The foot is still painful, I wonder if I will ever be free from the pain in that foot. Aleve seems to be the only thing that works and I am not sup[osed to take that being on blood thinners, but I do take it one every few days some times I wait a couple of weeks . I keep hoping that the Tylenol will work but it never does.

JeanneP, I wrote a long piece yesterday about getting in touch with my cousin and what a great time we had talking on the phone for almost 2 hours but I can't find it here😢!

I am from Columbus Ohio.  Born in Indianapolis IN in 1935. Just celebrated my 85th birthday on February 17th.

AnnieA

My cousin lives in your hometown!💕🤓🤣

Good morning, Every Buddy and welcome to Annie A.  I've had computer/phone problems last week and wasn't able to get here--so please accept my Hello and apology for the time away.  I always miss our daily chats if I can't get in here!

Tim did come by this morning and he took me to the battery place and helped me buy the batteries I needed to use my computer.  My phone has been out of service all weekend, too.  I had to call Sara and let her know that I can play bridge on Wednesday.  Now I'll have to call Terri to see if she can pick me up.

Tim came by this morning and helped me get my telephone/phone numbers back in business.  I had about 4 or 5 days without my computer--and believe me, I hated that!  We went to a store that sold batteries for phones, he brought them home and now I'm back hopefully for good.

Welcome, Annie A.  It's good to see your posts today and I'll be looking for more each day.

I haven't walked this morning and need to get outside for that.  Have a nice day, Every Buddy.
Sue

Annie...your post is at the top of the page. https://www.seniorsandfriends.org/index.php?msg=171091

Sue...good to see you back; I'm glad Tim got you the batteries you need and have you back in business.

Jeanne...yesterday was gorgeous...today, not so much.

Temp is in the high 40s and it has rained all day!  I took my tax papers to my accountant, and she ran a temp return for me and I don't have to pay anything in now to state or fed.  I get refunds and apply them to next year's both fed and state returns.

I'm just glad it's all over in her hands!

Jane

maryz

Sue, so glad to see you back. You've been missed.

jane, glad to hear about your taxes. My CPA is working on mine, but it's not ready yet.

Nothing much going on around here. I went to the doc this morning - to check on weight, INR level, feet swelling, etc. He's not concerned (whew!) - just come back in a month for another blood check. It's supposed to be rainy here the rest of the week, starting this evening. Glad I don't have to be out in it - and that there's no severe weather in the forecast.

Happy Monday to all the Buddies!

Good dry Tues. morning.  I haven't adjusted to the time change yet.

I need to drop "corrected" tax form off at accountant's office and do some grocery shopping.  I didn't want to goin the rain yesterday.  I guess that makes me a fair weather shopper.   :coolsmiley:

Have a healthy, happy Tuesday!

Jane

Yes that was the address I. Found. church street. Glad you had the tel. No. And got to reach her. Is she still with Parkland College?

Still windy and heavy rain here. I need to go out today as it is important. I stayed home yesterday. Could have found lots work to do but can't get in the mood. I need to go and get my road test done for my drivers licence. Also my passport need renewing. That 10 years past fast..
Sue. Glad you now back posting. That is  a reason I hang onto my home phone line. Our cable was down for the day last week and cut off computers, WiFi  mobile service .internet. At least home line working.
I think I will start reading my library books on line for awhile until this health mess gets over.  Last year the found bed bugs infesting the library and closed for a few days. I notice that they no longer let the homeless come in with all their bags etc. When it's cold. Not seeing as many this winter but yet the shelters at night are filling up and  they can hold 150. So many not even from Illinois.

It's almost past "morning" here, so I need to hurry with this post.   :2funny:

It's a beautifully sunny day, but temp in the high 30s.  I'm having a hard time getting used to Daylight time change.
I took my corrected tax form that came late yesterday and dropped it off, filled up the car with gas at the nice low price, thanks to the Saudi-Russian price war, and did my grocery shopping at WalMart.  They weren't too busy.  I heard them say they were out of hand sanitizers.  Not a big surprise, I guess.

I need to do some housekeeping chores.  My gal is quite sick, so I hope she stays home on Thursday.  It's either shingles or some horrible neuralgia...occipital neuralgia...and her nerve pain is INTENSE.  She's on a lot of meds since they're not sure which she has until she gets her blood work back...and her *&^% insurance oks an MRI.

Time to catch up on my bookkeeping, too, and then the dreaded chores! :coolsmiley:

STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY, DEAR FRIENDS,

Good morning, Every Buddy.  This will be just a quicky to say Hello.  Tim came by with lots of paper work for me to sign for my accountant and forms to send money to the IRS.  My investments have been doing well, but I'm having to pay more interest, too.  YUCK!

I hope every Buddy is feeling well this morning and I hope you have a nice day.  My cleaning ladies were here before Tim and everything is tidy and ship shape (at least for a while!).

Sue

Hi Gals. I've been AWOL for a while too.  Yesterday, I started cleaning and sorting out the file cabinets. Have a nice big box of genealogy for Traecy. She may have most of it, but she can go through it and decide what to pitch.

At noon I went to the dr. for a urinalysis. It wasn't definitive, so I'm not on AB yet. I wasn't sure I had a UTI, but had mild symptoms. After that, I went to the nail salon to get my toenails trimmed and a gel coat on my one nail that splits. Then to the grocery for an RX. By the time I got home, I was exhausted.  It was my first time driving and no problems. So glad to be able to go and come when I want.

John washed the windows in and out.  I still have a big file drawer to sort our of the 4, so will try to get that done tomorrow. I'm hurting now.

Marilyn, can't the foot dr. give you an rx for Tramadol?  I can't imagine walking 5 miles, especially with a sore foot.

Annie, I grew up in Indianapolis, Broad Ripple area. I was born in Peru and moved to Indy in 46. I now live in SC.

Sue, I'm so glad your absence was just due to computer problems. We hoped that was the case. We all missed you.

Darlene, good grief, 85 degrees already? It's 70 here and supposed to rain. It's overcast.

Jane, glad you get a refund and its all in the hands of the CPA now. We mailed ours last Sat, I think, but haven't gotten the signed receipt yet.
Too bad about your cleaning girl. Mine doesn't come this week.

Jeanne, good idea to read on your pad.  I don't have my pad set up for books, but our library is spic and span.  I just finished Robin Cook's PANDEMIC. Pretty good.

Mary, glad you got a good bill of health from the dr.

I need to get busy.  Sharon

AnnieA

Sharon, I grew up on Winthrop Ave down by the Fairgrounds.  This is so much fun.  My brother lived in Broad Ripple. He is now in a an assisted living home.  On Fall Creek Dr.

I have an old friend who lives in McCormick, SC near Charlotte, NC!  It truly is a small world!🤓🙏❤️

AnnieA

My friend and I have been best friends for a long time. We both have February BDs! We've known each other since we were 10 years young! We've remained friends over many years having moved around in a lot in different states!

jane

Holy Hot Weather, Darlene...85!Some places here reached 70 on Sunday and we though that was warm, but it's back down now and rain for tomorrow.  That should take the rest of the snow piles out and maybe the 40s will let some things start to get green and push through the ground.  Right now everything is some shade of brown or tan.

We played bridge today...hurrah!  Then I picked up my new glasses and got my garbage and recycles out to the curb for pickup tomorrow.

Tomorrow afternoon I also get a much needed haircut.  Nothing else new or exciting here.

I need d to go and get a hair cut also. Thing is it is just the way I like it on top and sides but the back is awful.  My hair does that. Just doesn't grow right.  Grows so fast in back.
Getting cold again, fact saying quite a good bit of snow Saturday.
I wanted to go and take my drivers road test few weeks early. Last year I went in cold ice weather and failed it and had to go back in 3 days. For one thing I had just bought the car. I still not use to it. Only driven 1360 miles in past year.not worth all the insurance on it.
Big ball game on this weekend. They are going to play but nobody will be in the stands. So crazy. Other team coming a long way. Should just forget about sports.spring break for all univ. and schools next week. After than they are going to let univ. students study from home . One school closed down because the tasting a 7 year old boy for it. He uses the school bus.
They are asking for people to take hundreds of jobs cleaning things down. City buildings and such. It was just last year when the laid many off saying not enough work.
JeanneP

Universities here also closing down after spring break...take all your stuff home now...and we'll do online after the break.  The dorms and meal service will stay open for those who have no place to go.

The impact on sports financially will be huge, too, as well as the airlines...and the cruise ships.

Rainy and blustery  day here, and I'm off for a haircut at 1:30.  I hope the old joints are moving better by then...very painful this morning.

Stay safe and healthy, Buddies!

jane

Marilyn

Sherry I am allergic to tramadol. It makes me terribly sick to my stomach.
