Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've been up for a while and am dressed for my morning walk.  I think Kris is coming over sometime this morning to help me with a little yard work, but I know she and Tim take a lengthy morning walk so it may be sometime later.

Not much else going on here today.  If Kris does come over, I'll work with her outside as she can tell me what needs doing.

I hope Every Buddy is well and happy today.

Sun has come out after some morning sprinkles...to be t'storms tomorrow. It's a wonderful low 70s, so I may try a short walk in a bit.

I got to WalMart about 10:00 and not many there, so a good time.  I didn't want to get up at 5:00 am to make it there at 6:00 am for the old people's hour in the midst of a possible t'storm.

WalMart was out of organic ultrapasturized milk and a couple other things I like.

The Governor is allowing my County to open up a bit come Friday.  Restaurants can open at 50% capacity, etc.  We'll see how that works out.

I would still rather fix my own food at home. Can't understand that people want the restaurants open. I can see the fast food and even those I like to think that cleaning etc is being done. I like good salad bars but already saying about the time it is taking to get the stuff for Salad taking a long time in truck. There was so many people sick last year from Lettuce.

Good morning, Jeanne and Every Buddy looking in this morning.  I've been up, had breakfast, read the paper, and am now thinking about what I might do before time to fix my lunch.  I also like to fix my lunch here at my home, so I'm trying to think of something a bit different today.

Not much else going on here today.  Tim's wife Kris was going to come over yesterday and do some yard work here, but evidently didn't find time for that.  I may end up doing it myself.  I need to clean off my sidewalk and other chores and might get some of that finished.  I want to get outside for a good walk, too.

I hope Ever Buddy is feeling well and enjoying a nice spring day!

Rainy and stormy hours to come between 2 and 4.

I don't like cooking and so I do enjoy getting out to restaurants to have food I don't/won't prepare here.  I don't know when that will be, however, here.  The big restaurants I like are in CR and that County is still closed down...until at last May 15 now.

Better get to the basement and get my clothes out of the dryer.

I meant to go out to the grocery store early today. Out of a few things. I did get up and shower.wash hair. and dressed in a outfit I can go out in. But. I do believe this tie down is now getting to me. I was good for the first 4 weeks. They are now extending it in Illinois until end of May. People are turning against the Gov. but I believe he is trying to do the right thing. Doesn't want to be opening up many things. Stick to the 6 ft apart and face masks always.  but I am just walking around from room to room trying to figure what to do. So use to going out if only to the library, movies. Shopping. any concerts that are going on. That is how I like to get my walking in.  Been having a lot of rain but today it is up to the 70s. Not even talking that much to family and friends because its the same conversation. Was on with daughter in Texas last night and someone texed her to tell her that a friend of theirs

husbands just died. It was like something excited happened that she could now call lot of their friend to let them know.We are craving excitement.
I have messed up my desktop W10 by messing with changing  things on it. Now have to get someone to take care of fixing it back up.

Already close to 5pm so to late for store.. So just fix dinner. Put on another pound or two.....
So now you can see one of my mess ups. all the typing is bunched together. Will not space lines or work with enter and return.

Good morning, Jeanne and every Buddy looking in this morning. I slept until 9:30 this morning so am late with everything.  It looks like rain here this morning and I may not get outside for a morning walk.  I did get the kitchen cleaned up, emptied the dish washer of several days worth of dishes.  I do hope to walk unless it does rain.

Not much else going on here today.  I have 4 books written by Patrick O'Brien about my favorite Naval Hero (sometimes he's not such a hero!).  I finished one of his late yesterday afternoon.  I haven't started one of the 4 which I've not read yet.

I hope Every Buddy is feeling well and able to get out and about if your weather is OK.  Take care, Buddies.

Hi Buddies!

It's a gray, rainy day here today, but hopefully nothing severe. We're even more confined today - being inspected by somebody (home office? state?)...not even allowed out in the halls today. Nothing too bad, though. They're still bringing snacks and meals to our rooms. Margaret came by and brought me some mail and (in between showers) filled the bird feeders. She moved one of them even closer to my window. The cardinals have been flocking to it - and I do love them.

I've just been knitting and crocheting - finished a sweater for Alden (to wear next fall) and an afghan for Henry (due in about 3 weeks).  I talked to my financial gal this afternoon for our semiannual "appointment". I don't have a whole lot in stocks, so my account isn't hurting too bad right now.

Stay well, Buddies!

Such bad thunder storms last night and still raining hard and so Today for me will be like yesterday. No walking.

I like this...
I came, I saw, I forgot what I was doing. Retraced my steps. got distracted on my way back. No idea what's going on and now I have to PEE.

I keep trying to read on my Ipad but just so use to books in hand that I can't get interested. Miss the library so much. Have 20 books on my list there now.

Meant to go to store this morning but I also slept until 8:30am. Seem to be sleeping 9 hours a night. Not going to nap today either But that seems to make me sleep more.
I waited on the phone for over a hour. A item I ordered for my Daughter 3 week or more not their yet. While waiting I stood and clean up my big closet. Threw away 35 wire hangers and put on plastic while waiting . Message kept thanking me but never did come on.

Nothing exciting here, either.  Had an email that a baby shower I was to attend in Minnesota in mid June has been canceled and they may decide to try a zoom thing.

Tomorrow nephew is having hernia surgery in WI and wife cannot be there, of course.  Since nothing is open for her to go to, she said she'll sit in the car and read from her iPad.  She's figuring it'll be a 4 hour wait.

Elective surgeries start up here on Friday.

I did call an order in tonight to a pub in town and went down to get it. Nothing fancy, but somebody else cooked it.   ::)

Take care and stay safe and healthy!

jane, my favorite food has always been "somebody else cooked it"!

Slept late (for me) this morning - 6:30.  They were coming in the door with my breakfast by the time I had brushed my teeth, taken my meds, and gotten dressed. Today is "cleaning lady" day, and the day they do my laundry.  I hope we can get out to walk in the halls today. We shall see.

Have good last day of April, Buddies! Amazing how fast this year has gone - even being stuck at home most of the time.

Sunshine at last on the last day of April!  It's still in the high 50s, but there's sunshine!! :2funny:

I hope to get out for a walk this afternoon after it warms up a bit.

I may even get wild and think about going to the grocery store! :2funny:

Good morning, Every Buddy.  Tim and Kris came by yesterday with food for my fridge.  So I'm good for the rest of the week.  I'm still reading a lengthy Nora Roberts novel and hope to finish today.  I also have 4 paper back Patrick O'Brien naval novels and will start on them next.  I'm a big fan of Patrick O'Brien and will read these next after I finish the Nora Roberts epic I'm currently reading.  Bob (my late hubby and also big fan of Patrick O'Brien) loved those Naval novels.

It's sunny, but chilly here this morning.  I'd like to get outside for my morning walk, but so far all I've done is eat breakfast and clean up the kitchen.  I hope Every Buddy is feeling well this morning and that all have a nice day!

I haven't had a problem today.  Curiouser and curiouser!

I posted a couple of days ago but it never came up here .  It has finally stopped raining & yesterday day was warm enough  to turn on the a/c .  We have about 30 rose bushes & they are going crazy blooming !
I rode along with my husband to the next town today & it was so good to get out of the house !  I have been grocery shopping in our small town every week but still felt cooped up .
I have been doing a lot of crocheting but can's sit still for very long .  Our daughter texted her doctor & her doctor will call her tomorrow .  She fights depression & the stay in place is making it worse .  She is seeing a therapist because of all the sadness she has been through in the past .  The current happenings are making it worse .  .

SCFSue

Alpiner, I'm sorry to hear that your daughter suffers from depression.  I am praying that she may get some relief soon.  I have had a few depressive incidents, mostly while my late husband was flying far away and I had 3 young boys to raise by myself until he could get home again. Life is not easy when someone in your family is depressed.  Thoughts and prayers for your daughter and I hope she will feel better soon.  Take care of yourself, too.  Worry about our children never seems to leave us!

Good morning, Every Buddy.  It's a bright sunshiny day here in Auburn.  I want to get outside for a walk shortly.  Our weather station tells us it will be nice at least for the early parts of the day.

I don't think Tim will be over here this morning.  He and Kris came by yesterday as he'd picked up a few things he thought I might like to have when they were out shopping.  I haven't gone shopping for a long while.  Tim doesn't want me at Kroger or other places where lots of people are shopping.

Not much else going on here today.  I think I have enough clothing in my hamper to do one load of laundry.  I'm planning to read after I return from my walk.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.  And stay away from friends who are having symptoms!

Now I notice that all the above posting coming up or fromThursday.  I can't get into S and f from my IPad but now trying on the Desktop. Would not let me in from the Server firefox. However I seem to be getting in right now. No idea what is happening. Another day of messing with computers.
Looks like warming up and sonny out side so I may just turn off and find other things to do. Good walk and a drive sounds good. should just fix a pack lunch and head over to the Japan gardens or to the lake. I am getting a little moody

Wl0 . again I have forgotten how to bring up the place to check which server I am using. And changing it if need be.
I swear I am going to get some training on W10 once this whole mess is over. Either that or get my old W7 hooked up again

Afternoon, Buddies...

Alpiner...it sounds as if you welcomed that trip out.  I know the feeling.  I had to go pay my car insurance and took a long way home to get the car driven a bit.  We have a lot of detours with the road construction here in town. I hope your daughter can get a med to help her.

Jeanne...Neither Darlene nor I can get in with our Ipads either.  It simply won't find this website at all.  I'm on a Win10 laptop, using Chrome as my browser.

Sue...with all the virus there in Auburn, I think you're wise to stay home, but it sure is getting wearing.

Sharon is probably up to her eyeteeth in packing and organizing things for her move next week.

Mary...any lifting of your restrictions?

I don't know, and neither does Michael, why our IPads won't find his server.  When I put it in, it goes blank in the address bar and goes to the nearest website it can find.  When he asked me to try another website on his server...archiefans.com  I was taken to WayFair website and looking for fans.   :crazy2:

I'm sorry Darlene doesn't seem to have a computer she can use to join us.

Someone in another discussion said she had used Chrome and had gotten in to S&F.  I use Chrome exclusively and have never had a problem.

alpiner, sorry your daughter is having such problems. Three of my daughters take medication for depression, so I do understand.  Glad you got out for a ride.

jane, still locked down here. TN's governor has ordered that everybody in "nursing homes" (which does include us) will be tested for Covid. I asked the nurse this morning, and she wasn't sure whether that meant just staff or staff and residents, too.  We shall see.  I have a doctor appointment on 5-11, and they tell me that I should be able to keep that. We shall see.

Sue, glad that Tim and Kris take such good care of you.

Sharon, I don't envy you your chores of moving. It's tough under any circumstances. Get as much rest as you can.

Marilyn, how are things with you? I know it's tough, but I hope you're getting some "me" time occasionally.

Jeanne, sorry you're having so much trouble with all your devices. I have a laptop and a tablet, but I do different things on each one. I haven't used a desktop in years. Even while John was alive, I mostly used the laptop and he used the desktop. The girls gave me my first tablet (an iPad) in 2012 when I broke my arm.

Darlene, hope all is well in Texas.

They should be delivering my new bed (double bed-sized) today, tomorrow, or Monday. Hope so anyway. We shall see.

Have a good quarantined weekend, Buddies!

MaryZ.

Now the one Nursing home and 1 Seniors Like yours both came down with their first one yesterday. Now these are both close to me. They are going to be testing everyone in there I believe. I don't know about the nursing home as lots of patients are quite old in there. Now in couple of town within 25 miles have had so many come down that their family already talking to Lawyers. it is 19 sick and 6 dying in one . I have a hard time wondering how it is getting into these senior places as they have been on lockdown now for a month..
I think I am going to stick close to home and just doing what our Gov. Says. Town seems to be getting busier though. I believe the Mall is opening up. Why anyone would be wanting to shop in the mall I don't understand.

Would you believe I ggot in and have a "post" at the bottom?!  We have been so busy all day. We went to Brookdale to see the new villa this AM and discovered they had painted the wrong wall, so they are going to paint all of the walls of the living room /dining rooms the same color. pleased me no end..It was the first time we had seen this model sinc e before TG, so really needed to go. Didn't go into the main buildings, only our villa with the marketing director. Then we came home and had lunch and had found the name of someone who did good alterations fast, from our cleaners, so we took down all the drapes and all the pins out after calling her and seeing if she could do them by the 15th. She can and after we finally found her shop, got it all clarified as to what she was to do which was very complicated and cost a bunch. We were so tired when we got home, but John insisted on going to the grocery. I had made out the list last night.Anyway, we were able to use all but one set of our beautiful drapes for the villa as well as the rods, etc.It seems like we are constantly busy. I'll be so glad to get settled in the villa. Mary, I'm glad you have lots of ccardinals. We do to here and there is a woods behind our villa, so maybe I'll still get lots of bird sightings.  Hi to each of you. SC is loosening up some of our virus closings, but not many. I need a haircut so bad, but they aren't open yet. I had my last one Jan 2 before my knee surgery. I confess I've been whacking on it off and on. I think we all have cabin fever. Mary, good you have the baby projects to keep you busy. Sharon/b/size]

jane

Hurrah for Sharon getting in.

I think Darlene is still shut out with her Ipad and Michael says he doesn't have an Ipad to check and see why. Hmmmm...hope he can find or borrow one.

Today felt like an almost normal day to me. NO jacket!  It's 75, sunny, and very little wind.  I went up to the Greenhouse today with my mask...surprised at the no. of people there without any, though all staff and owner were wearing them and got some beautiful geraniums for my front and my hanging baskets.  That'll be today's job.  I'll need to go back for some for my Mexican pots in the backyard...they're large square ones, and I love them.

Then, I went by the grocery and while there were a lot of cars, they weren't in the store where I needed to be.  I got my salami (hard to find at WalMart...probably the pork plants here  in the midwest being shut down or whatever...and so got enough to freeze to have for my lunch sandwiches...and left and am home now.

I picked up some more bandanas yesterday at Farm Fleet when I went for birdseed, and I'm going to wash those up and keep a mask in the car.  I've found I forget to pick one up as I leave, so will keep a clean one each car.

Nothing else exciting here.  Our cases continue to rise...esp in the Waterloo area...45 miles west of me...because of the pork plants.

Jeanne...I suspect it's getting into the Nursing Homes through the staff who may have family working at the plants. That's what they're saying, anyway.

Governor has said can have religious services tomorrow.  I don't know how that's going to work out.

Stay safe and healthy!!

Good morning, Every Buddy.  Our church has not had services since the quarantine started over a month ago. Our female pastor called me last week to check on me.  I also had a phone call from one of our female deacons.  She was someone I didn't know but we had a nice conversation and I appreciated the call.  My friend Marilyn's husband who was in a nursing facility died and she had a small service at our church with only her immediate family.  He had dementia and became rather violent at the end.

Not much else going on here this morning.  I am going outside for a walk shortly.  Bill (my oldest son) called me this morning.  He is a Dean at his University and they are out for a couple of weeks.

I hope Every Buddy is well and avoiding crowds.  Take care, Buddies.

John and a neighbor are going to take down the drapery rods this afternoon and I advertised the one set of triple drapes I can't use. Don't expect to sell them, but they are beautiful and custom made.  After John gets the rods down, we have to move some stuff around from the garage to inside that goes to various kids. Don't want it packed for the Salvation Army.  I also need to make a big FREE sign to put out with some stuff we're giving away that SA won't take. Other than that, I think I have a sorta free day.

Alpiner, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's depression. I've suffered from it from time to time but don't like the meds. Pain is a major cause of mine.

Our pastor just came by and got some of the things I thought might work in the auction. However, the auction is put off till next year, so she had to pare it down to what they had storage for. I'm so glad there were some things they could use.  She doesn't think the church will open till July or so and then with modifications.

Hi to everyone and stay healthy.  Sharon

FROM DARLENE/COTTONCANDY

Hi Buddies..still get the message..cannot open page on S&F...all is well with me ..cool enough to walk in mornings...then hot and humid in afternoon...stay well and safe

Marilyn

Hello Every Buddy. Hi Mary thanks for asking about me. I have had a chance to get some Me Time by taking a late afternoon walk up the street to my neighbors place for a glass of wine and conversation before I come home to make supper. I've also moved back into the smaller bedroom,  I've  been sleeping much better since I am not in the same bed as Keith.

A couple of days ago  My neighbor (Chris) came down and my other friend Jo came over, she brought wine and between the 4 of us we  finished of 3 bottles of wine before Jo and I took our dogs for a walk . We had some soup that I had made after the walk. Glad to say we won't be drinking that much wine again, but she did make it home safely.  8)

I did a Walmart food order, picked that up today and early this morning went to Grocery Outlet for some things I forgot on the Walmart order. I was the only customer in the store at 8 am.

It has been raining a lot today but when it slowed down  I took Freckles for a walk,  We both wore raincoats.
