And the snow continues!  Temperatures are dropping and the wind continues.  It is a veritable winter wonderland...and quite pretty since I can sit here in my family room and look out on three sides and be warm and cozy.

I just turned on the Weather Channel and it looks like a lot of country from here to east and a bit south are in for Izzy...snow and ice for some of them...power out, etc.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Cottoncandy

Hi everyone...we have had a few warm days but a cold norther with high wind is on the way here...Jane sounds cold where you are...My brother and SIL have both had the covid...she got over hers ok..but he had to be hospitalized over night due to low oxygen level...they are doing good...no vaccine.....hope everyone is doing well..be safe

jane

Good Morning!

Darlene...good to see you this morning.

The neighbor's snow guy woke me up at 5:00 am with his Bobcat beeping as he did their driveway.  My snow girl's daddy is out doing my walks and driveway. It'll be all ready for more snow tomorrow.

It's 11 now and don't think it's to get much more than into the low 20s.  The joints and muscles are very stiff, so not much happening here.  I did a little vacuuming and have a load of wash in...and that's about it for the day.

Stay safe and healthy.

jane

Marilyn

Good morning  Buddies.

I am looking into the devices. Right now  I am looking to see what Medical Guardian has to off. I will also look into te On The Go medical alert devices.

I really overdid it yesterday. I was so happy to get out and walk that I took the dogs for 3 walks plus Jeannie and I went shopping after lunch.
we walked every aisle of Dollar General and Dollar Tree, I also went to the feed store for dry dog food. So I paid for it last night.

Sharon I do have  Voltaren, (the prescription one)I' had this tube for years. I did order some Aspercream as well. I can order $40 in OTC stuff every quarter through my insurance that I don't have to pay for. It is so nice that I can also order on Keith's insurance.

patricia19

Good morning, it's presently five above at nine AM. Yesterday I went shopping with friends, and it was raining on top of all those freshly cleared driveways, parking lots, and roads! Everywhere was ice, and it was the most amazing thing, we all agreed. Rain in the middle of one of our supposedly frigid months! The only thing I could compare it to would be a blizzard in July!

Marilyn

I decided to go with the Medical Guardian.

SharonE

We got about an inch of snow, some freezing rain/ice, but didn't lose power. Everything is shut down here. Bunny wasn't happy about going out to do her thing but she did. John took her out today.

I did my laundry yesterday, folded it today, organized my meds and didn't do much else.  No church either here or online.

Hope you are all safe and warm.  Sharon

maryz

We had snow off and on all day. Lots in the morning, and then that was gone soon after noon. Then it started again midafternoon, and snowed  into nighttime. Temp near freezing this morning, and still plenty of snow and black ice on the roads. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.

Stay safe and warm, Buddies!

jane

Marilyn...glad you found an alert you liked.  Great your insurance will cover OTC stuff.  I'd not heard of that before.

Mary and Sharon...glad you don't have to go out in snow and ice.

Patricia...rain and above zero!

I worked a bit this morning, clearing out my pantry.  Things just seem to accumulate.   :idiot2:

I needed room on lower shelves because I can't reach the higher ones easily.  SO...space made and another garbage bag out next Thursday.   ::)

Take care and stay safe!

jane

patricia19

Seems as if that snowstorm is settling in to stay awhile. We're still having occasional snow and rain with warn temperatures.

jane

I think Patricia is sending COLD weather my way.  Temps for Wednesday...high to be 7 and low -12.  Thursday high = 2 and low=-17.

YEP, I will be INSIDE both days!! ;D

SharonE

Our snow is over for now, roads are clear at least here in our center. The dining room is closed today & tomorrow but pickups or deliveries of meals available, so I don't have to cook. I will take Bunny out for the first time since the bad weather began in a few minutes. John has been doing it. We still have some mush ice on the grass, but only about 1/2 in deep if that. Temps are in the 30's to low 40's except at night when it dips below freezing. Nothing in comparison to you girls, but cold to us.

Marilyn, glad you decided on your alarm device. It should give you peace of mind.

I hope to play bridge tomorrow if my gals don't back out and they shouldn't.

Stay in and warm and safe. Darlene, enjoy your nice temps. Alpiner too. Sharon

Cottoncandy

Jane...disregard my message...I did have to sign in...thx anyway......

jane

Sharon...good you didn't lose power and warmer temps will melt that ice, as you know.

Darlene...glad you got logged back in!

Pedicure for me tomorrow and then I have groceries to pick up as well as a prescription.

Covid numbers really high here again...well, the whole state...and even our Governor has it!  You all know I'm not a fan of hers!  Gee, maybe going to political things without a mask isn't very smart, Kim!

Jane

Marilyn

]Good morning Buddies. The leg is getting better litle by little. Still painful. I am only supposed to take Tylenol as a pain reliever, however I did take Aleve yesterday as Tylenol didn't he;p one bit.

Today I am going to go to the Senior Center to pick up some Senior Nutrition lunches for Keith and I. Friday I will be having lunch with my Grand daughter Savannah. She and her boyfriend will be moving to Kansas in a couple of months and I want to spend some one on one time with her before they go.

patricia19

Good morning, minus eleven presently, but we're heading up to zero for a high. Tomorrow's high will be plus 22 with a chinook blowing in the afternoon. Next week is forecast to be in the plus thirties until we drop back again into the single digits on the twenty-eighth. I'm predicting mayhem because snow with possible rain mixed in is expected. This winter, the weather is as erratic as everything else; it's a toss-up.

If you're on my weather system, Jane, expect a crazy next week!

Cottoncandy

Hi Everyone...its 32 degrees here and will stay that way through the night..we had sleet earlier..I hope it warms up by Monday..have an Eye appointment...Marlyin glad your leg is better..Jane covid is bad here...even those vaccines and booster are getting sick...Sharon hope you get to play bridge..Mary sounds like you are getting snow...Hi to others reading...stay safe and warm

SharonE

Snow and ice essentially gone here. Rain off and on all day, Cold front moving in with snow tomorrow and Sat AM. Supposed to get down in the teen tonight!  :'( We probably won't get much though. And no ice predicted.

I did get to play bridge. Had a nice time. Haven't done much since. Podiatrist was here yesterday and my cleaning girl came. Got my year's minutes refilled on my phone. Otherwise nothing.

Sounds like everyone is pretty much housebound due to the weather. I hate taking Bunny out in the snow and rain. She gets so wet, but Mon we get her groomed and it will be easier.

Take care and stay warm everyone, even you, Darlene.  Sharon

jane

Marilyn...glad the leg is better.
Sharon...good to have the ice gone.
Darlene...32 is cold for you, I know.
Patricia...I think we were colder than you today!  Your cold you sent this way, of course, and with wind...wind chill at -25.  Actual temp hardly made zero and it's headed back down now.

I tried to walk just a very little big when I took my garbage bin our this morning, but the cold wind was brutal, so I came back quickly.  I did go again to WalMart for the rest of my order, so I'm now set for the weekend.

Patricia will come down tomorrow.  Temps and wind chills too brutal today in case of a car malfunction.

I continued on my reorganizing of the pantries.  That job is now finished.

Stay safe and warm.

jane

I was awake and came down for a hot latte at 5:30 am, and it was cold downstairs!  I called my heating guy at 8:02 and talked to receptionist...and Al was here at 8:57!  Hard to beat that!

Patricia just checked in...she's about 2.5 hours away.

Take care and stay safe/warm.

Jane

SharonE

Wow on the quick HVAC service. Really needed with those temps and company coming. It's only 30 here and was down to 22 last night. That is really cold for us. Glad I'm not in your area. I did take Bunny for a short walk at lunch, but it was too cold to go down to the lake.

My bridge partner has Covid. Fortunately, she wasn't feeling well Tues and didn't play and won't play next week either.

Hope everyone is well and staying in and warm and safe.  Sharon

jane

Sharon...glad your bridge partner had the good sense to stay home!

Snow last night...not much and more tonight.  Too cold for me to get out!   8)

SharonE

I thought we were finished with snow, but in it came last night and left us 2 or 3 " but half or more is gone already. Didn't walk Bunny today though. Just took her in the yard. About 30 degrees. I posted a pretty picture of my balcony covered in snow, including my poor pansies.

I did laundry today as usual. Didn't sleep till after 3:30 AM last night. Don't know why. Not worried about anything. Just couldn't turn off. Slept late this AM.

Hope Patricia arrived safely, Jane and you have an enjoyable weekend with her.

Marilyn, you must be sad to see Savannah move to Kansas. Is she going to school there or does she have a job?  Anyway, nice you could have a lunch with her before she left. I miss Joc, my gd.

Hi to everyone out there. Miss your posts. Sharon

The Supreme court ruled against President Biden's vaccine mandate for large businesses. Shortly afterward, Starbucks announced its 200,000 employees at 9 000 locations would no longer be required to get vaccinated or submit to weekly testing. I'm fully vaccinated and boostered, but Starbucks is no longer on my shopping list. We have over a thousand new cases daily, and the Midwest isn't any better. Would you shop there?

How many other businesses see this as a free pass?

maryz

Patricia, wouldn't you think the businesses would be volunteering to see that all their employees were vaccinated? I certainly would, even (or maybe especially) if I were a small business owner.

Sharon, we didn't get any more snow this last time through - just bitterly cold (it was 16* when I got up this morning). Supposed to be getting up to more normal temps for a few days this week - before another front coming through next weekend. My daughter in South Carolina said they had a "pretty snow" yesterday, but it was gone by midafternoon.

Sue, hope you're having a great weekend.

Nothing much going on around here - except weather.

Hope all is well now with you, Marilyn, Darlene, Alpiner, and all the folks checking in.

Stay warm, Buddies!

My computer has been hacked, and those of you who are on my email will have received messages pretending to be from me begging for money.  I am mortified.  They are NOT from me, and if you have opened them, you are in trouble.  Get a computer expert to help or call your provider.  Comcast has given me terrific service over this.  The perpetrators are committing FRAUD.

I am simply beyond embarrassment.  They actually got into my computer and flipped some switches to make my email go directly to them.  So I was sending emails, but not getting any that were being sent to me.

Most of my list caught on right away, but for those who went along with it, my deepest apologies.  As for my eldest son, he got brave and went right into the person and told them to f_____ off.  Well, ordinarily, I do not approve of that expression.  In this instance, I cheered!

Comcast has fixed my computer and they are on the tail of the criminal.  In the meanwhile, my abject apologies.

Son Chip is in Seattle this week.  Bad timing.

And look in Soda Shoppe for a photo Bubble has posted for me of my window on the Bay.  Becky took it 6 years ago.  You will love it.

MaryPage

Here is the link, and I hope I am not breaking any rules in posting it in here.  I just so dearly want you to see my view, and I had a time finding it in Soda Shoppe, so I wanted to make it easier for you.

MaryPage, I was receiving your cryptic emails, but mine was going to my junk mail. Luckily Sandy emailed me, and we expected something of the sort. I was looking to see if I had a family email for you, and then Sandy called. I'm so happy you escaped relatively unscathed, and yes, good for your eldest son! I commented on your photo at the site, and yes, that was a perfect link!

There was a case back in SeniorNet where I was receiving odd emails from Norm, MaryAnn's brother, founder of Norm's Bait and Tackle. I contacted him, and he replied that his grandaughter or niece, I don't remember which, had used his computer, and he had gotten it straightened out.

It happens.

MaryPage

Oh, Thank you, Dear Patricia, and to any and all of you:  should you EVer get an email from me asking for help (which developed into asking for money), it will NRVer be me doing that!  I am not rich, but I have no need to ask ANYone for money, and I have a huge family to draw upon were that the case, which it is not.

MaryPage

About those vaccinations and the huge number of people believing the outrageous lies about them, I do not understand why they seem not to have taken in that our last President and his Vice President were given those shots, as were our present Pair.

Now you know that would not have been the case were it not that it was perfectly OKAY to do so!
